It's time for the Champions in Christ broadcast

with Rhonda Harrison on 1017 Bay FM. Good morning

and thank you for listening to Champions in Christ.

This is the day the Lord has made and we will

rejoice and be glad in it. Thank you for everybody

tuning in. We are excited to go into the Word

of God today. We're going to dive into the Acts

of the Apostle. the acts, the acts that have

never stopped. Why? Because our God never stops.

Our God is forever creating, forever loving,

forever working throughout eternity for our good.

He loves you today. He loves you so much. He

has great plans for you. Maybe your life has

taken a hiccup or a turn. Guess what? He has

got great plans for you. So we're going to dive

into the Acts of the Apostles. in chapter one.

And this is after Jesus had ascended. He had

told the disciples to go into the upper room.

And in verse four, it says, being assembled to

get one for being assembled together with them,

commanded them that they should not depart from

them, but wait for the promise of the father,

which he said, you have heard of me for John

truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized

with the Holy Ghost. Not many days from now.

And when they therefore were come together, they

asked him saying, Lord, when will you at this

time restore the kingdom of Israel? They were

thinking in the natural, they were thinking in

the flesh, they were wanting to know when he

was gonna restore Israel. And he said unto them,

it is not for you to know the times or the seasons

which the Father has put in his own power, but

you shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost

has come upon you and you will be witnesses for

me in both Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to

the uttermost parts of the world. That's right,

he wants his name known in the uttermost parts

of the world. Why? Because he has great promises.

you and for me and for those in every nation

God is no respecter of persons the same promises

he has for me he has for you and he has for everyone

around the world it doesn't matter what government

you are under what country you are in God loves

you and he says in verse 9 and when he had spoken

these things while they beheld him taken up a

cloud received him out of sight while they looked

up steadfastly toward heaven as he went up two

men stood by in white apparel which said you

men of Galilee why do you stand gazing up into

heaven this same Jesus which was taken from you

in heaven so shall he and he in like manner as

you have seen him go into heaven and then returned

they unto Jerusalem from the mount called olive

and which was in Jerusalem a Sabbath day's journey

and when they were coming to the where they met

in the upper room. their abode Peter, James,

John, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew,

James of Alphaeus, Simon, Zealots, and Judas,

the brother of James. They all continued in one

accord in prayer and supplication with women

and Mary the mother of Jesus and with his brethren.

So they had 120 people in the upper room and

they were all together in one accord. one accord

and continued in prayer and supplication. You

know, being in agreement, when you're in together

in prayer is very important and very powerful

because the word of god says where two or three

are gathered in my name there i am in the midst

of you and it says if any two of you agree on

earth is touching anything you ask and it'll

be done from my father which is in heaven wow

powerful powerful powerful promises from the

wonderful jesus we serve And if we go to chapter

two, it says, when the day of Pentecost was fully

come, they were in one place in one accord. And

suddenly, oh, have you ever had a suddenly of

God happen in your life? I have. where suddenly

God shows up and everything changes. That's the

kind of God we serve. And if you need a suddenly

today, you cry out to him, you call upon his

name with expectancy. He's looking for faith

on the earth. He's looking for someone who's

gonna call out to him and trust him. And so suddenly

there came from heaven as a rushing mighty wind.

It filled the house where they were sitting.

Think of a hurricane wind. Think of a hurricane

wind. That's what came in that house. And there

appeared unto them... Cloven tongues like fire

sat upon each of them. This is where the Holy

Ghost wind meets fire, and it's all about the

Holy Spirit filling us to overflow. That's what

he was doing. You know, the disciples had already

done the works of God with Jesus, but the Holy

Ghost could not live inside of us till Jesus

ascended, till Jesus went. back to heaven and

sat at the right hand of the father and sent

the promise from heaven and the promise is the

holy ghost the holy spirit the father son and

the holy spirit those three are one and the holy

spirit was sent to indwell to live in us wow

That's amazing. Why? Because he empowers us to

live on this earth, to be witnesses for him,

to tell people of his great love, to set us free.

He is God himself living in you. Another name

for him is the indwelling. I love that name.

And so they were all filled, verse four, chapter

two, with the Holy Ghost and began to speak in

other tongues. What, really? Yes, indeed. Does

that still happen today? Absolutely. And as the

spirit gave the mutterance, you know, the power

of God has not stopped. because the apostles

died, where does it say that? It doesn't. If

you've ever felt the tangible presence of God,

if you've ever been filled with the Spirit, with

the evidence of speaking in tongues, no one can

tell you that it doesn't happen anymore because

it does. We need that empowerment. We need that.

How insulting would it be to God if we said no

to the Holy Spirit and to the power of God? you

know if we continue down in verse six it says

now when this was noised abroad the multitude

came together and were confounded people were

blown away by what they were seeing and every

man heard them speak in his own language so they

were speaking in the language they weren't taught

because the holy spirit filled them and the holy

spirit knows all is all and You can't outsmart

God. You can't outdo God. Does he still do miracles?

Absolutely. He wants to give you a miracle today.

He wants to change your finances. He wants to

heal your body. He wants to set you free from

drugs, alcohol, pornography, whatever the bondage

is. It's not fun being in bondage. Let him, let

him break you free, but you have to call upon

him and you have to believe it and he will do

it. Just as we've seen through the word of God

so many times. Okay, so we're in the book of

Acts. All these people are speaking in tongues

or others coming and you drop down to verse 12

It says and they were all amazed and were in

doubt saying to one another. What does this mean?

Others were mocking these men are full of new

wine. They thought they were drunk They thought

they were drunk. That's how powerful this time

was, and they couldn't understand. You know,

people always mock what they don't understand.

But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up

his voice and said, You men of Judea, and all

you men in Jerusalem, be this known unto you,

and hearken to my words. For these are not drunken,

as you suppose, seeing it is but the third hour

of the day. But this is that which was spoken

by the prophet Joel. and it shall come to pass

in the last days said God I will pour out my

spirit upon all flesh your sons and daughters

shall prophesy your young men shall see visions

and your old men will dream dreams and on my

servants and my handmaidens I will pour out in

those days my spirit and they shall prophesy

and I will show wonders in the heavens and signs

in the earth blood and fire vapor of smoke you

know the power of God always has evidence, always.

Just like when someone is born again and receives

Jesus as their Savior, which allows the Holy

Spirit to come live in you. You know, that transforms

your life, and you will begin to change. You

will do a 180 if you truly receive Jesus as Lord

and Savior. Why? Because you receive life, right?

We were dead in sin. Our righteousness was filthy

rags. Outside of God, we have no righteousness.

It's trashed. But with God, we are the righteousness

of God in Christ. Glory to God. You know, your

sin is passed away. It's thrown into the sea

of forgetfulness. Gone, never to be seen again.

Hallelujah. The same power when wind meets fire.

Come on in, Holy Ghost, come on. You just thank

him. You just begin to praise him. You begin

to ask him to come and fill you to overflowing.

He will do it. He will do it within a mighty

way. And so let's continue on. We'll go into

verse 21. And it shall come to pass that whosoever

shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be

saved. Call upon his name today. Call upon his

name and you will be saved. Saved from what?

Saved from your sin. Saved from going to hell

and you'll be going to heaven. Jesus never sent

anyone to hell. It's our choice. It's our choice

when we deny the gift of God. He's given us.

He laid down His life. He shed His blood on Calvary.

The power of God was in the blood of Jesus. That

pure love, he had nothing but pure love and pure

motive when he came to earth. And it was to seek

and save those which were lost. But he didn't

leave us just with a home in heaven and thank

God for it when we get there. But he gave us

power to live this life, equipped us to become

prosperous in all that we do. Do you know he

says he prospers everything you put your hand

to. He wants you to dream big because He's a

big God. He wants you to give Him a job. Believe

and put your faith out there because with your

faith and your actions, God can't deny you. He's

so good. He wants you to have the best. He wants

you to live in excellence. He wants you to be

all that you can be. You know, this past week

the Olympics has been on and it's been exciting

watching people do their best who've trained

so hard. You know, if you train yourself in the

Word of God, you will have good success throughout

your whole life. Why? Because God is all wisdom.

He's all grace. He's all mercy. He's all love.

you know what if we get tripped up you know if

those athletes had failed in a in a jump they

did or or had fallen off the parallel bars and

gymnastics or didn't get the time in swimming

do you think they got out of the pool or got

off and walked off and said i'm done no they

got back in there and did it again why because

they knew they had to perfect they had to keep

at it because they believed in themselves Well

guess what? You can believe in yourself too.

If you don't have the ability to, guess what?

God believes in you. God believes in you. And

he says all you need is a seed of mustard faith.

That mustard seed is one of the smallest seeds

on the planet. And that's all it takes to believe

God. But he's got to see your action because

faith without works is dead. So these disciples

were told by the Lord, go into the upper room

and wait till you be endued with power. Just

think if they had left the day before. Think

if they got tired of praying and being a one

of court and doubt and fear came in that they

would look like a fool or it wouldn't work. But

no, they knew him and they trusted him. If we

know Him and if we put our trust in Him, He will

reach out and touch you every time. He will give

you the miracle you need. If it's healing, if

it's deliverance, maybe you've been bound for

many years in a sin and you just can't get out.

You want out, but you can't get out. Guess what?

Jesus can set you free today. Just ask Him. He

will hear you and he will do it. But when you

ask expect that's what these guys were doing

in the upper room. They stayed there praying

expecting they were expecting and that's how

they got filled up to overflow to overflow. I

tell you we serve an amazing God and there's

nothing like him. There's nothing like him. You

know, again, he doesn't just give us heaven one

day. We're so thankful for heaven. We're so thankful

that we're going to be in that place one day.

And we're not going to be in hell. You know,

when we give our life to Christ, we have to repent.

But you don't have to try and clean yourself

up. God will help you do that. He will transform

you from the inside out. It'll all get changed.

You'll be so happy. It'll be the greatest adventure

of your life. Greatest adventure. And it's never

boring with God. He's always exciting. Get in

the Word and read about it. Read about Jonah.

Read about David. Read about Daniel. Read about

Peter and James and John and all that that happened

in their life. Were they perfect men? Absolutely

not. They were just like you and they were just

like me. But they made a choice. You know, life

is about choices. Life is about choices and one

wrong choice can take you off for a long time.

But guess what? God's a redeeming God. He's redeemed

us from sin and He takes your sin and throws

it into the sea of forgetfulness. Never to be

remembered again. You might remember it, but

He'll never remember it. He's cleansed you. He's

created you to be a new creature in Christ. That's

why old things are passed away. That's why you

know people who've done a complete turnaround

in their life because of Christ. I know I have,

I was a mess. God flipped me around when I made

the choice. He cleaned me up here a little, there

a little. It didn't happen all at once. And I

wasn't bound in drugs and alcohol. That wasn't

my issues. But you know what? It doesn't matter

what your issue is. He's still God, the super

cleaner, the super man of cleaning, the super

man of changing. And that amazing Holy Spirit

lives in you when the wind meets fire. God comes

on in if you welcome him and he'll turn your

life upside down. We're going to listen to a

couple of songs about that miracle wind and fire

and we'll come right back. For the broken and

afraid This is for those who are hurting Hope

and help is on the way Cause I can't Thank you,

Jesus. Thank you, Holy Ghost. Thank you, mighty

wind and mighty fire. Just welcome that in your

life today. If you don't know Jesus, and this

is your first time listening and you're wondering,

what is this I'm hearing? You're hearing about

an almighty God who loves you, who adores you,

who wants to change your life, who wants to be

Lord of your life. So if you've never received

Christ, let's pray a prayer. If you've received

him and you have never felt that power, and you've

walked away from. Pray this prayer. Dear Heavenly

Father, come into my life. Forgive me of my sin.

I repent. I denounce the things of the world.

Come on in with that wind and fire and fill me

to overflow. Change my life. I give you my all,

100 % of my heart. In Jesus' name, thank you.

Thank you. You are my Lord and Savior. Amen.

Amen. I just thank you the word that the Holy

Spirit is filling every car every person listening
