  1. It's time for the Champions in Christ broadcast

  2. with Rhonda Harrison on 1017 Bay FM. Good morning

  3. and welcome to Champions in Christ. We're so

  4. glad you joined us This is the day the Lord has

  5. made we will rejoice and be glad in it Every

  6. day is a good day in Christ. No matter what the

  7. circumstance because without him we are nothing

  8. But through him we can do all things through

  9. Christ who strengthens us, you know this morning

  10. I want to talk about a little bit about what

  11. to do now As a born -again Christian maybe you

  12. are brand new at being a Christian and you wonder

  13. how do I talk to God? Well talking to God is

  14. called prayer and there's many types of prayer

  15. and this sharing about prayer could take weeks

  16. and weeks really if we dive into it and get deep

  17. in it, but Christ keeps everything simple and

  18. that's what we love about him. And why do we

  19. want to pray? We pray to communicate with God.

  20. We talk to him and he will speak to you. He will

  21. speak to your heart. When you get born again,

  22. the Holy Spirit comes and lives inside and he

  23. speaks to you from the inside out. It's not a

  24. head voice. It's a heart voice and You can hear

  25. the voice of God, but mostly if you read his

  26. word and you get acquainted with it, especially

  27. the New Testament, because that's where we live.

  28. We are under a New Testament. testament and a

  29. new covenant we have with God since Christ was

  30. raised from the dead. But in Psalms 118 it says

  31. it's better to trust in the Lord than to put

  32. your confidence in man. It's better to put your

  33. trust in the Lord than to put your confidence

  34. in princes. You know we just had an election

  35. and whether your candidate won or not we don't

  36. put our confidence in man. we put our confidence

  37. in God. But then God tells us in praying in 1st

  38. Timothy 2 verses 1 through 6, let's look at that

  39. for a minute because that's going to help us

  40. as far as what to do about these leaders who

  41. come into office in every office, local, state,

  42. government, I mean federal. This is Paul writing

  43. to Timothy. He says, I exhort you therefore first

  44. of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions,

  45. and giving of thanks be made for all men. So

  46. those are all types of prayers. Supplication,

  47. prayers, intercession, and giving of thanks.

  48. He's saying we should first of all do that for

  49. kings and for all that are in authority that

  50. we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all

  51. godliness and honesty. So our prayers make a

  52. difference. When we pray and you go, well what

  53. do I pray for my leaders? You pray they hear

  54. from God. You pray they bow their knee that they

  55. humble themselves before him. You pray that they

  56. have the wisdom of God to lead whatever portion

  57. of government or military assignment, whatever

  58. their area of expertise and that includes whether

  59. you are in any place that's why it says for all

  60. men because you are leading someone you are influencing

  61. someone whether you're a teacher whether you

  62. work in a hospital whether it doesn't matter

  63. what the position is you could be a landscaper

  64. which is a great job where would we be without

  65. our landscapers and you could be out there but

  66. you influence someone someone is going to hear

  67. you and watch you and be influenced by you we

  68. all have influence in the earth because God created

  69. us to work together as a body so he says here

  70. he wants us first of all to pray to pray for

  71. all men how many of you out there that have been

  72. Christians for many many years are doing this

  73. on a regular basis we all need to make sure we

  74. do this It says, for this is good and acceptable,

  75. this is verse three, in the sight of God our

  76. savior, who will have all men to be saved and

  77. to come to the knowledge of the truth. That's

  78. right, he wants all knowledge, all men to have

  79. that knowledge of God, to come to the saving

  80. grace of Jesus Christ. You know, we can't do

  81. anything. to go to heaven except follow God's

  82. word and his plan for salvation and what is that

  83. to receive his free gift and free to us but it

  84. cost him his life it cost him everything and

  85. he he gladly laid down that life it was tough

  86. it was really tough what he went through I'm

  87. unbearable for most human beings but God gave

  88. him the strength and he laid down his life No

  89. one took it, he laid it down, the Bible says.

  90. For us, he became that sacrificial lamb. And

  91. so again here, it's just emphasizing, you know,

  92. that his plan is, as verse four says, who would

  93. have all men to be saved. He wants everybody

  94. born again, and why wouldn't we want to be? He's

  95. the greatest God. ever. He's the only living

  96. and true God. He's King of all kings. He's Lord

  97. of all lords. He's Alpha, the Omega, the beginning

  98. and the end. He knows everything. He sees everything.

  99. He is there with you right now. If you're going

  100. through the hardest time in your life or you're

  101. going through the most glorious time in your

  102. life, He's with you. He's with us in our tears.

  103. He's with us in our joy. He is our strength.

  104. And it continues on to says, verse five, for

  105. there is one God, one mediator between God and

  106. man, and that man is Christ Jesus who gave himself

  107. a ransom for all to be testified in due time.

  108. And this is due time. We testify of his goodness.

  109. and His grace, because He is amazing. And what

  110. He's done for us, nobody can do. He'll go in

  111. where no knife can go, and He will heal you.

  112. If you have a broken heart today, or you have

  113. emotional stress in a situation, or domestic

  114. situation at home, God is right there with you.

  115. Cry out to Him, reach out to Him. He will give

  116. you strength, He'll give you peace, He'll give

  117. you guidance. And if you read the word of God,

  118. a lot of times you'll find your answer right

  119. there because the word of God is the will of

  120. God. The word of God is the will of God. We are

  121. so thankful for the word of God. You know, Jesus

  122. also said in Philippians 4 6, do not be anxious

  123. about anything, but in everything by prayer and

  124. supplication with Thanksgiving, let your requests

  125. be made known unto God. He's always available.

  126. He wants you talking to him all day and all night.

  127. You know, first Thessalonians 5 17 says, pray

  128. without ceasing. What? How do we do that? Well,

  129. you pray in your car. You pray before you go

  130. to bed. You pray when you wake up. You talk to

  131. him all day long. He loves to hear from you.

  132. And he says in his word that we're to pray to

  133. the Father in Jesus' name because it's through

  134. the blood of Jesus that we have that access again,

  135. that great access of God. So we are to pray to

  136. the Father in Jesus' name. But you can talk to

  137. God. He wants to hear your heart. He wants to

  138. commune with you, to have that intimacy. The

  139. same way you pour out your heart to your best

  140. friend, guess what? Jesus is a friend that sticks

  141. closer than a brother. And He's there for you.

  142. And He can be your best friend. He'll never leave

  143. you, never forsake you. He'll never fail you.

  144. God will never fail you. You know the Bible says

  145. in James 5 16 that we are to confess our sins

  146. one to another and pray for one another that

  147. we may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man

  148. or woman has great power as it is working. And

  149. you know, it's important to share our hearts

  150. with other people. Maybe you're struggling through

  151. a sin you're trying to overcome. Well, first

  152. of all, if you give your life to Christ, Christ

  153. will give you the Holy Spirit and you will have

  154. the strength to overcome, to walk away. When

  155. you have the power of God in your life, you have

  156. the power to walk away and you will do it if

  157. your heart is set on that. Remember, God gives

  158. us a free will, so he wants us doing His will

  159. in the earth, and that always reaps us the benefits

  160. and the rewards of being born again. You know,

  161. the Bible says that we are to rejoice in hope,

  162. be patient in tribulation, and be constant in

  163. prayer. You know, so let's lift up these leaders,

  164. these government leaders, local, state. federal

  165. because we want to be blessed we want to live

  166. that quiet and peaceable life and that our children

  167. grow up in a in a blessed nation that's what

  168. our have our founding fathers intended that we

  169. would live in a land land of the free home of

  170. the brave and we are some of the bravest men

  171. and women on the planet our military is outstanding

  172. and guess what when you're born again you're

  173. in the family of God but you're also in the army

  174. of God which means we aren't to lay down and

  175. just go okay it's we're good our nation is good

  176. no no our nation needs lots of healing lots of

  177. help lots of clarity lots of direction from God

  178. from God so we have to pray we want to pray we

  179. want to Colossians 4 2 says continuing steadfast

  180. in prayer be watchful with thanksgiving god wants

  181. us watchful you know to be sober and to watch

  182. over to watch over things because the enemy is

  183. like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour

  184. but the bible says we've been given all authority

  185. over all over all the power of the enemy hallelujah

  186. The Bible also says, is any among us sick? Let

  187. us pray for him. You know, you can call for the

  188. elders of the church. They can anoint you with

  189. oil and you can be healed. That's another prayer.

  190. You know, but Jeremiah says in 29 12 that when

  191. we call upon him and come and pray to him, he

  192. will hear us. He also says that in first John

  193. that he will hear us. Hallelujah. Hallelujah,

  194. God hears our prayers. And how should we pray?

  195. You know, 2 Chronicles 7 14 tells us, if my people

  196. that are called by my name will humble themselves,

  197. pray and seek my face, turn from their wicked

  198. ways, I will hear from heaven, forgive their

  199. sin and heal their land. Do you think America

  200. needs healing? Yes, indeed. Yes, indeed. And

  201. many of Americans and others need healing. All

  202. nations need healing, but it won't happen without

  203. prayer. It won't happen without the body of Christ

  204. taking their place. So ask God, what is it on

  205. earth I'm created to do? You were created for

  206. a purpose. Jeremiah says he knew you before you

  207. were in your mother's womb, and you were created

  208. for a purpose. So seek his face. and you will

  209. find your purpose get in his word you will find

  210. your purpose you know the bible says um in john

  211. 15 7 if we abide in him and this is jesus talking

  212. and my words abide in you ask whatever you will

  213. and it will be done wow that's a powerful prayer

  214. thank you lord for that awesome word if we abide

  215. in him how do you abide in him You read his word,

  216. you talk to him, and you praise and worship him

  217. with thanksgiving. It is so important to praise

  218. and thank him for all the things he's done, for

  219. the little and the big. You know, he loves it

  220. when we're thankful. Don't you love it when your

  221. kids thank you for something? You know, don't

  222. you love it when they say thank you? It means

  223. a lot. Well, it means a lot to God, too. It means

  224. a whole lot. and when we don't complain and don't

  225. murmur. And the more you pray, the less you'll

  226. complain and murmur because the more you understand

  227. the power of God in the earth today. And so we

  228. want to continue to ask and believe if you have

  229. faith, faith to be active in our life. Faith

  230. is a currency of heaven. Faith is a currency

  231. of heaven, but faith works by love. It works

  232. by love. You know, God is so faithful to pour

  233. out His love for us. You know, in 1 John 5, 15,

  234. He says, if we know He hears us in whatever we

  235. ask, we know that we have the request that we

  236. have asked of Him. He's a loving Heavenly Father.

  237. He has many things He wants to bless your life

  238. with. He wants to bless your life with. You know,

  239. Jeremiah's 17 five says thus saith the Lord cursed

  240. as a man who trust in mankind and makes the flesh

  241. his strength whose heart turns away from the

  242. Lord God it's okay to to let men take authority

  243. to be thankful for men and women who use wisdom

  244. and do things but to put your trust in man is

  245. not good according to the word of God. It says,

  246. cursed is the man who trusts in mankind and whose

  247. heart turns away from God. We want to trust God

  248. and keep our heart right with him, love on him.

  249. You know, another place we have to pray, Matthew

  250. 544, the Lord says, love your enemies and pray

  251. for those that persecute you. Hello. Who wants

  252. to do that? It's not what we want to do in our

  253. flesh, but really in your heart of hearts. You

  254. know, people are enemies usually because of misunderstanding

  255. or they've been, you know. under an influence

  256. that takes them down a different route. But we

  257. can pray for our enemies. We can love them and

  258. we can pray for those that persecute us. Are

  259. we going to be persecuted? Absolutely. The Word

  260. of God says if we walk in the ways of God, we

  261. will be persecuted. But he said be of good cheer.

  262. They did the same thing to me and the prophets

  263. before you. So we should actually, it tells us

  264. to rejoice when we're persecuted. and they speak

  265. all manner of evil against us falsely for his

  266. namesake that's a mouthful but we should rejoice

  267. in that and how many people do know usually it

  268. causes people to back down from being truthful

  269. and speaking God's word but he's the way the

  270. truth in the life And it's up to us to get that

  271. good news out. It's good news. And if we get

  272. persecuted in the process, well, we're in good

  273. company because Jesus and the Apostles, the prophets,

  274. everyone before us got persecuted, persecuted

  275. as well. And the Bible says in First Chronicles

  276. 16 11, seek the Lord in his strength and seek

  277. his presence continually, continually. We have

  278. to continue to seek him. we have to continue

  279. to and you will not miss out his presence is

  280. the best thing it's the best thing it's the greatest

  281. high you ever have if you've ever done drugs

  282. or you drink alcohol or any of those things to

  283. find that place of ecstasy or a place of peace

  284. there's nothing the bible says god's peace passes

  285. all understanding you know that's why in the

  286. in the book of acts and they were in the upper

  287. room and People thought they were drunk when

  288. they got filled with the Holy Ghost because they

  289. were joyful, they were peaceful as if they were

  290. drunk, but it was supernatural. And you can have

  291. that too. Yes, you can. God has never changed.

  292. He does not change. And the Holy Spirit, the

  293. Bible says in the book of Acts, is being poured

  294. out upon all flesh. That's you and me, if you

  295. desire it, if you want it. But cry out to him.

  296. You know in Psalms 18 -6 it says, In my distress

  297. I called upon the Lord. To my God I cried for

  298. help and from his temple he heard my voice and

  299. my cry to him reached his ears. Wow! Hallelujah!

  300. Thank God he hears us. Thank God he hears us.

  301. Thank God he answers us. It says in Proverbs

  302. 15 -29, the Lord is far from the wicked but he

  303. hears the prayers of the righteous. he hears

  304. your prayers righteous does that mean you do

  305. everything right no it means you're righteous

  306. in god through jesus christ our righteousness

  307. is in christ hallelujah because of what he did

  308. we still try to obey and do what's right and

  309. when we don't we repent but we move on it gets

  310. cleaned off our slate the bible says that he

  311. throws our sin as far as the east is from the

  312. west hallelujah hallelujah Hallelujah. You know

  313. Luke 11 nine says ask and it'll be given to you

  314. seek and you will find knock and it'll be open

  315. to you. Are you asking? Are you seeking today?

  316. Are you knocking on his door? He will. He will

  317. change our nation. one person at a time. He will

  318. change our state one person at a time. He will

  319. change our community one person at a time. But

  320. imagine if the entire body of Christ said, okay,

  321. that's it. I'm standing up. I'm going to do everything

  322. I can do. God loves America. We want God to bless

  323. America. He is faithful. He's faithful. The Bible

  324. says he's faithful and true. He's faithful and

  325. true. He loves you today. Let's pray for America.

  326. Let's pray for each other. Let's stand up and

  327. lock arms with the Word of God as the army of

  328. God, as the family of God and accomplish what

  329. He wants us to accomplish so He can be done.

  330. You know, when that last person receives Jesus,

  331. guess what? We're out of here and glory to God.

  332. We're going to be in a better place and eternity

  333. is forever. forever. So we want our nation to

  334. be strong until that time. We have to trust God

  335. while we're here on earth, while we have opportunity,

  336. make our lives count for eternity. And we can

  337. do that by yielding to the Holy Ghost. We'll

  338. listen to a couple of songs and I'll come back

  339. at you on the other side. If tomorrow all the

  340. things were gone I'd work for all my life And

  341. I had to start again With just my children and

  342. my wife I'd thank my lucky stars To be living

  343. here today Cause the flag still stands for freedom

  344. And they can't take that away Because there ain't

  345. no doubt I love this land. God bless the US land.

  346. From the lakes of Minnesota to the hills of Tennessee,

  347. across planes of Texas from sea to shining sea

  348. from Detroit down to Houston and New York to

  349. LA well there's pride in every American heart

  350. and it's time we stand and say Guys, listen here!

  351. America the beautiful God bless our nation hallelujah

  352. well right now I want to give you opportunity

  353. maybe you don't know this God we're talking about

  354. maybe you've heard about him but you don't know

  355. him personally just pray this prayer dear Jesus

  356. I receive you as Lord and Savior come into my

  357. life forgive me of my sin cleanse me and wash

  358. me I thank you that you went on a cross you died

  359. for me and you rose again and I declare you my

  360. Savior and Lord in Jesus name Amen. Hallelujah

  361. if you prayed that prayer just begin your conversation

  362. with God talk to him read your Bible go to a

  363. church that preaches the whole counsel of God.
