  1. It's time for the Champions in Christ broadcast

  2. with Rhonda Harrison on 1017 Bay FM. morning

  3. and welcome to Champions in Christ broadcast.

  4. So nice to have you with us today. We're gonna

  5. look into the Word of God and we're gonna talk

  6. about more of the goodness of God. You know in

  7. Psalms 23 the Word of God says the Lord is my

  8. shepherd I shall not want. That's right he doesn't

  9. want you in need of anything so he's provided

  10. everything. His word goes on to say, he makes

  11. me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside

  12. still waters. Hallelujah. That means rest and

  13. peace. That's right. He restores my soul. He

  14. will restore to you everything the enemy has

  15. stolen and he will restore to you that peace

  16. of mind. He'll restore to you. He'll heal that

  17. broken heart. He will restore your soul. He leads

  18. me by the paths of righteousness for his namesake.

  19. Hallelujah. That's right. He will be your lead,

  20. your guide. He's a lamp unto your feet. Glory

  21. to God. Yea, though I walk through the valley

  22. of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.

  23. We have nothing to fear. God says he has not

  24. given us the spirit of fear, but power, love,

  25. and a sound mind. For you are with me, your rod,

  26. your staff, they come for me. That's the Holy

  27. Spirit of God. That's who our comforter is. He

  28. goes on to say he prepares a table in the presence

  29. of our enemies and anoints our head with oil

  30. and our cup runneth over. You remember last week

  31. we talked about those rivers of living water.

  32. Guess what? When he anoints your head with oil,

  33. that's the oil of gladness. That's the Holy Spirit

  34. and your cup runneth over. You're going to spill

  35. over that joy into others because they will want

  36. what you have because it's the goodness of God.

  37. and the bible says goodness and mercy will follow

  38. us all the days of our life and we will dwell

  39. in the house of the lord forever which we talked

  40. about heaven last week we talked about that place

  41. in heaven that we're going to see where he they

  42. are preparing mansions and it's going to be a

  43. glorious time but let's turn to philippians 4

  44. 4 19 it says but my god shall supply all of my

  45. need, your need, according to his riches and

  46. glory by Christ Jesus. Now unto God our Father,

  47. be glory forever and ever. You know, he doesn't

  48. provide according to your checkbook or according

  49. to... um what you know in the natural he has

  50. his riches and glory and he will supernaturally

  51. get those to you a lot of times through people

  52. sometimes supernaturally as he did in the old

  53. testament when when the ravens fed elijah that

  54. was supernatural for birds to bring food to a

  55. man right so there god has all kinds of ways

  56. he's god so he can do it many many ways His goodness

  57. and his mercy follow us all the days of our life,

  58. all the days of our life. We will dwell in the

  59. house of the Lord forever and forever. You know,

  60. in Ephesians chapter three. Verse 14, we're going

  61. to read a few verses here. It says, For this

  62. cause I bow my knee unto the father of the Lord

  63. Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven

  64. and earth is named, that he would grant you according

  65. to the riches of his glory to be strengthened

  66. with might by his Holy Spirit in the inner man,

  67. that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith,

  68. that being rooted and grounded in love, you'd

  69. be able to with all saints what is the breadth,

  70. the length, the depth, the height, and to know

  71. the love of Christ that passes knowledge, yet

  72. you might be filled with all the fullness of

  73. God." That's a mouthful. That's abundance. That's

  74. abundance he has provided for us. And in verse

  75. 20 it says, now unto him, speaking about you,

  76. unto him I'm sorry unto him speaking about Jesus

  77. is able to do exceedingly abundantly okay exceedingly

  78. means far far -reaching right way more way more

  79. than just normal abundantly overflowing above

  80. all you could ask or think according to the power

  81. that works in you so above anything you think

  82. you could ask God for or think God could do for

  83. you he can do exceedingly abundantly above all

  84. that but it's according to the power that works

  85. within you which is the Holy Spirit and it says

  86. unto him be glory in all the church by Jesus

  87. Christ throughout all ages world without end

  88. amen. That's right, all ages, the world, without

  89. end, glory, glory, glory. He not only has an

  90. abundant supply for you, but we reach that supply

  91. through faith. We receive that mercy and goodness

  92. and grace through faith. We shall not want through

  93. faith. It's all through faith in Him. So let's

  94. go and watch this in action. Let's look at Luke

    Luke 13 chapter mention

  95. chapter 13. and we're gonna go starting in verse

  96. 10 it says that he was teaching one in one of

  97. the synagogues on the Sabbath speaking about

  98. Jesus and behold there was a woman who had a

  99. spirit of infirmity for 18 years and was bowed

  100. over she could in no way stand up herself For

  101. 18 years, that's a long time to suffer with an

  102. infirmity, but here we see it's a spirit of infirmity.

  103. And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him

  104. and said unto her, woman, you are loosed from

  105. this infirmity or you are free from this sickness.

  106. And he laid his hands on her and immediately

  107. she was stood up straight and glorified God.

  108. Hallelujah. She stood up straight and glorified

  109. just by him speaking to her because his word,

  110. which he's filled at this point with the Holy

  111. Spirit, the Spirit of God's upon him, so he's

  112. using that life of God to deliver someone the

  113. same way he'll use it for you. He'll do it for

  114. you. She had to believe. You have to believe.

  115. I have to believe. Faith. comes by hearing and

  116. hearing by the word. So we're building our faith

  117. while we're reading these exciting stories about

  118. the goodness of God. And so this woman was healed

  119. instantly after 18 long years of suffering, right?

  120. All right, praise God. So we're going to go to

  121. chapter 14 now. Same book, Luke, and we're going

  122. to start in verse one and read about another

  123. one. And it came to pass as Jesus went into the

  124. house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread

  125. on Sabbath day, and they were watching him closely.

  126. And behold, there was a certain man that stood

  127. before him which had dropsy, which is kind of

  128. like swelling. It causes the body to swell all

  129. over. and hold fluid and Jesus said unto the

  130. lawyers and the Pharisees is it lawful to heal

  131. on the Sabbath he was saying this because he

  132. knew what their thoughts were and they held their

  133. peace and he took the man and healed him and

  134. let him go and then answered and said to them

  135. the Pharisees which of you would have a donkey

  136. or ox fall into a pit and would not quickly pull

  137. him up out of that pit on Sabbath day and they

  138. could not answer him against these things. Why?

  139. Because he was trying to show them, look you're

  140. calling this work, but yet if you saw one of

  141. your animals fall in a ditch and were hurt you

  142. would pull them out. How much more should I heal

  143. this man even though it's the Sabbath day? Healing

  144. is a blessing. Healing is a blessing. Praise

  145. God and mercy. His mercy on that person. Hallelujah.

  146. You know God is such a gracious and good God

  147. and he will always show his mercy to you. It

  148. says his mercies are new every morning, every

  149. morning. Cry out for that mercy. Thank God for

  150. his goodness and his mercy. We're going to go

  151. to Acts now, the book of Acts chapter 9. We're

    Acts 9 chapter mention

  152. going to look again at another example of God's

  153. goodness and mercy and how he provides all that

  154. we need. Acts chapter 9 verse 32 it says, and

    Acts 9:32

  155. it came to pass, Peter passed throughout all

  156. the quarters, he came down also to the saints

  157. which dwelt at Lydda and there he found a certain

  158. man named Aeneas and he had kept his bed eight

  159. years and was sick with palsy or was paralyzed

  160. and Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ

  161. makes you whole arise and make your bed. and

  162. he arose immediately. So what did Peter do? He

  163. spoke the word of God. He said Jesus Christ makes

  164. you whole. Why did he say that? Because before

  165. Jesus died on the cross he took 39 stripes on

  166. his back that by those stripes the word of God

  167. says we would be healed. So this man, you know,

  168. when Peter passed through the quarters He ran

  169. into this man. He found him. He didn't ask him,

  170. how long have you been sinning? He didn't ask

  171. him, was he saved? He just showed the mercy of

  172. God. He extended the life of God to this man

  173. that Peter had received, the power of God on

  174. the day of Pentecost. And he said, arise, make

  175. your bed. And he arose. The man had to do it.

  176. He had to stand up and do it. There's always

  177. an action when our faith's involved. and all

  178. that dwelt at Lydda, this is verse 35, and Saran

  179. saw him and turned to the Lord. This one miracle

  180. caused all of that area to turn to the Lord.

  181. Praise God, why? Because it was a sign and a

  182. wonder miraculous from God through man. God,

  183. we are his hands and his feet on the earth. Any

  184. of you that are born again, you have more power

  185. in you. The same power that raised Christ from

  186. the dead lives in you, and you can give that

  187. out freely. The Bible says, freely you receive,

  188. freely give. Let's continue in 36. Now there

  189. was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha

  190. which by interpretation is called Dorcas and

  191. this woman was full of good works and did alms

  192. which she did and it came to pass in those days

  193. she was sick and she died. whom when they had

  194. washed and laid her in the upper chamber for

  195. as much as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, the disciples

  196. had heard that Peter was there and they sent

  197. him two men desiring that he would not delay

  198. but come to them. Peter arose and went with them

  199. and when he came he brought him into the upper

  200. chamber and all the widows stood by and they

  201. were crying, showing the coats and the garments

  202. which Dorcas had made while she was with them.

  203. Peter put them all out and he kneeled down and

  204. he prayed turning to him to the body turning

  205. himself to her body and said Tabitha arise. So

  206. we're here we have a situation a woman who sounds

  207. like a wonderful person very did a lot of good

  208. works for people and made blankets and things.

  209. and she died, she got sick and died and they

  210. were weeping and two of the disciples, they sent

  211. for Peter and they asked him to come. So he put

  212. them all out because they're crying thinking

  213. she's never coming back and he wanted just the

  214. room to be full of faith I believe and he knelt

  215. down and he prayed and then he turned to the

  216. body and he said Tabitha arise. Now how could

  217. he do that? Because the power of God was within

  218. him. and he knew it and then he gave her his

  219. hand and lifted her up and when he called the

  220. saints and the widows presented her alive wow

  221. what a huge miracle do you mean christ the power

  222. of god can raise the dead absolutely here's the

  223. perfect example it says and it was known throughout

  224. all of choppa and many believed on the lord You

  225. know, it's interesting that we just read in Litta

  226. that when that man was healed from eight years

  227. of being paralyzed, it said all who dwelt in

  228. that area turned to the Lord. But yet with this

  229. miracle and this woman being raised from the

  230. dead, it says many believed in the Lord. Wow.

  231. You would have thought all would have believed

  232. after that. That's amazing. It's something. You

  233. know, God gives us free will. He gives us free

  234. will. He will not try and force you to believe

  235. Him or trust Him. It's up to us. It's up to us

  236. to make that choice. We cannot expect God. to

  237. force you to do anything, because he won't. He's

  238. loving, he's kind. He doesn't want to make you

  239. love him. He wants you to love him because it's

  240. your choice, because of how good he is. I mean,

  241. he's done so much for us, continues to do it,

  242. has given us so much. Why wouldn't we want to

  243. serve him? Why wouldn't we want to love him?

  244. You know, he is the good, good goodness of God.

  245. He can't be anything but good. That's who he

  246. is. You know, we're going to go look in one more

  247. place in Acts. And why are we doing this? Because

  248. I want you to see that the power of God worked

  249. all throughout time, not just before Christ died,

  250. not just when Jesus was on earth, but even when

  251. Jesus has gone from the earth. He gave us the

  252. Holy Spirit that the works of God would be made

  253. manifest so that all would see the goodness of

  254. God. everyone would see the goodness of God and

  255. we know the holy the holy word of God in the

  256. Old Testament many I mean every single book there's

  257. some goodness of God he was pouring out on his

  258. people and he used man to do it just supernatural

  259. things so in the book of Acts chapter 3 it says

    Acts 3 chapter mention

  260. now Peter and John went up together to the temple

  261. the hour of prayer being the ninth hour which

  262. was about three o 'clock in the afternoon and

  263. a certain man lame from his mother's womb was

  264. carried and laid daily at the gate of the temple

  265. which is called beautiful to ask of alms who

  266. all from all who entered the temple who sing

  267. Peter and John about to go into the temple asked

  268. for money and Peter fixing his eyes upon this

  269. man with John said look on us and he gave attention

  270. unto them expecting to receive something from

  271. them so he was looking expecting for money but

  272. surprise he gets much more than money because

  273. peter said silver and gold i don't have but what

  274. i do have i give to you in the name of jesus

  275. christ rise up and walk Glory to God. He took

  276. him by the right hand, lifted him up, and immediately

  277. his feet and ankle bones received strength. Praise

  278. God. That's a miracle. It says, and he leaping,

  279. stood up, walked, and entered with them in the

  280. temple, walking and leaping and praising God.

  281. Wow, all the people of God were watching that

  282. were in the temple. and they saw this man and

  283. knew him because every day every day of the temple

  284. he was put there to ask alms to get receive money

  285. to help him every day and then now he's leaping

  286. and praising God in the temple. and verse 10

  287. says and they knew that it was he that sat for

  288. alms at the gate beautiful and they were filled

  289. with wonder and amazement at that which happened

  290. to him he was a sign and a wonder this miracle

  291. made them wonder that's what a sign and a wonder

  292. is it makes you wonder and it says in verse 11

  293. and as the lame man which was healed held peter

  294. and john all the people ran together unto them

  295. in the porch that was called solomon's greatly

  296. wondering They were like, wow, this is the same

  297. man. And Peter saw it and he said unto the people,

  298. you men of Israel, why do you marvel at this?

  299. Why do you look so earnestly at us as though

  300. we by our own power or holiness made this man

  301. whole? But the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac,

  302. the God of Jesus, I mean, the God of our fathers

  303. who have glorified his son, Jesus, whom you delivered

  304. up and denied him in the presence of Pilate when

  305. he was determined to let him go. But you denied

  306. the holy and just one. desiring a murder be granted

  307. unto you. You killed the prince of life whom

  308. God has raised from the dead and whereof we are

  309. witnesses and his name through faith in his name

  310. has made this man strong whom you see and know

  311. and now the faith which is by him has been given

  312. to him in perfect soundness in the presence of

  313. you all." Wow! Wow, he's telling them, he's telling

  314. them the same God that you guys crucified on

  315. a cross and denied him rose from the dead and

  316. has empowered this man to live that it wasn't

  317. anything they did on their own or their own goodness.

  318. It was the power of God working through them.

  319. Glory to God, glory to God. Wow. Well, we have

  320. a lot to think about, don't we? A lot to be thankful

  321. for the goodness and the mercy of God. We're

  322. going to go to a song right now and we're going

  323. to come back at you and share a little bit more

  324. before we close. I wanna dance like David, I

  325. wanna faith like Paul I wanna sing like Silas

  326. tearing down the prison wall I wanna face that

  327. fire, it won't burn me though God's got my back

  328. shot, rack me shack up and then go I wanna walk

  329. like Moses, right through the waves One day I'll

  330. see that promised land no longer slain Though

  331. the fear is talking, no one can take out my faith

  332. I'm gonna - I wanna sleep like Daniel, even in

  333. a lion's cage I'm gonna get that promise, just

  334. like Jericho like I've got no more precious time

  335. to waste. I'm gonna give Him glory with all my

  336. thanks, because there's no greater, stronger,

  337. higher name, and that's who I praise. Will you

  338. be my light when I cannot see? And when I can't

  339. take another step, Lord, would you care? When

  340. I've lost my fight, will you be my strength?

  341. Will you set me a table in the presence of my

  342. enemies? I shall not want, I shall not want.

  343. Oh, my soul's got a shepherd in the valley and

  344. I shall not want. I shall not walk cause my car's

  345. running or running over and I shall not walk

  346. and I will live my life we shall not want oh

  347. we shall not want the goodness and mercy of our

  348. god if you've never received this jesus as your

  349. lord and savior maybe you've been to church maybe

  350. you've seen things on tv and you know god is

  351. but you've never accepted him pray this prayer

  352. with me dear heavenly father we come to you lord

  353. i am a sinner i repent forgive me of my sin i

  354. turn my back on sin and i turn my face towards

  355. you and i receive the Lord Jesus Christ as my

  356. Lord and my Savior. I thank you for it. In Jesus'

  357. name, amen. If you prayed that prayer today,

  358. you have just been born again. We want to send

  359. you a new Bible. You can contact me on championsinchrist3
