  1. Hi, this is David here with Tom and Sue Ann McBroom.

  2. And today I'm going to ask them what it is that points them to Christ during this Advent season.

  3. One of the things we've really enjoyed doing is going to candlelight services,

  4. either on Christmas Eve or a day coming up to Christmas.

  5. And the songs and prayers and the candlelight is really inspirational.

  6. Very nice.

  7. I will be reading from Isaiah chapter 54 verses 9 and 10.

    Isaiah 54:9

  8. Remember, in Noah's time, I punished the world with a thwod,

  9. but I made a promise to Noah that I would never again destroy the world with water.

  10. In the same way, I promised that I would never again be angry with you and say bad things to you.

  11. The mountains may disappear and the hills may become dust,

  12. but my faithful love will never leave you.

  13. I will make peace with you and it will never end.

  14. The Lord who loves you says this.

  15. I'll be reading Matthew 24, verses 23-35.

    Matthew 24:23–35

  16. Someone might say to you at that time,

  17. Look, there is the Messiah.

  18. Or someone else might say, There He is.

  19. But don't believe them.

  20. False messiahs and false prophets will come and do great miracles and wonders,

  21. trying to fool the people God has chosen, if that is possible.

  22. Now I have warned you about this before it happens.

  23. Someone might tell you the Messiah is there in the desert, but don't go into the desert to look for him.

  24. Someone else might say there's the Messiah in that room, but don't believe it.

  25. When the Son of Man comes, everyone will see him.

  26. It will be like lightning flashing in the sky that can be seen everywhere.

  27. It's like looking for a dead body.

  28. You will find it where the vultures are gathering above.

  29. Right after the trouble of those days, this will happen.

  30. The sun will become dark and the moon will not give light.

  31. The stars will fall from the sky and everything in the sky will be changed.

  32. Then there will be something in the sky that shows the Son of Man is coming.

  33. All the people of the world will cry.

  34. Everyone will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds in the sky.

  35. He will come with power and great glory.

  36. He will use a loud trumpet to send his angels all around the earth.

  37. They will gather his chosen people from every part of the earth.

  38. The fig tree teaches us a lesson when its branches become green and soft

  39. and new leaves begin to grow, then you know that summer is very near.

  40. In the same way, when you see all these things happening,

  41. you will know that the time is very near, already present.

  42. I assure you that all these things will happen

  43. while some of the people of this time are still living.

  44. The whole world,

  45. Earth and sky will be destroyed, but my words will last forever.
