  1. Hello Oak Ridge family and friends. This is David

  2. here with Byron and Janae Hunter and Today I've

  3. asked them to share one of the elements that

  4. points them to Christ. Hey Oak Ridge. So I chose

  5. from David's acronyms I was going to share a

  6. Christmas Carol that speaks to me if you will

  7. and it's Oh Holy Night I'm not that sentimental

  8. about Christmas carols, but I've always appreciated

  9. this song and the lyric line that I really like

  10. is or the singer is singing along and he or she

  11. says along lay the world in sin and error pining

  12. till he appeared and the soul felt its worth

  13. and that's always really kind of got to me kind

  14. of stirs emotion in me and I think that that

  15. is one of the things that the church should be

  16. about is finding a way to convince these souls

  17. of their worth and the wife's genetic comes behind

  18. that with not a very serious spiritual aphronym

  19. word but tradition that I must do every year

  20. came out of when we got in -laws when our children

  21. got married and the first Christmas that we had

  22. with them I made the scavenger hunt just for

  23. fun and from then on it was required of me by

  24. my in -laws and my daughter once in a long required

  25. that I do it for all things so It has become

  26. a challenge every year to come up with something

  27. new. And I usually will take a Christmas book

  28. and kind of read that story and the clues come

  29. from that and make us think about some things.

  30. I've incorporated our grandchildren now, but

  31. that's going to be a tradition for us. You always

  32. pull it off. The prophet Isaiah chapter 30, verses

    Isaiah 30:18–26

  33. 18 through 26, and it's coming from the New International

  34. Version. Therefore, He will rise up to show you

  35. compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice.

  36. Blessed are all who wait for Him. People of Zion

  37. who live in Jerusalem, you will weep no more.

  38. How gracious He will be when you cry for help.

  39. As soon as He hears, He will answer you. Although

  40. the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and

  41. the water of affliction, your teachers will be

  42. hidden no more. With your own eyes, you will

  43. see them. Whether you turn to the right or to

  44. the left, your ears will hear a voice behind

  45. you saying, this is the way, walk in it. Then

  46. you will desecrate your idols overlaid with silver

  47. and your images covered with gold. You will throw

  48. them away like a menstrual cloth and save them

  49. away with you. It will also send you rain for

  50. the seed you sow in the ground and the food that

  51. comes from the land will be rich and plentiful.

  52. In that day your cattle will graze in broad meadows.

  53. The oxen and donkeys that work the soil will

  54. eat fodder and mash, spread out with fork and

  55. shovel. In the day of great slaughter, when the

  56. towers fall, streams of water will flow on every

  57. high mountain and every lofty hill. The moon

  58. will shine like the sun, and the sunlight will

  59. be seven times brighter like the light of seven

  60. full days, when the Lord binds up the bruises

  61. of his people and heals the wounds he inflicted.

  62. Acts 13 verses 16 through 25. Standing up, Paul

    Acts 13:16–25

  63. motioned with his hand and said, fellow Israelites,

  64. you and you Gentiles who worship God, listen

  65. to me. The God of the people of Israel chose

  66. our ancestors and made the people prosper during

  67. their stay in Egypt. With mighty power, he led

  68. them out of that country. For about 40 years,

  69. he endured their conduct in the wilderness. and

  70. he overthrew seven nations and came in, giving

  71. their land to his people as their inheritance.

  72. All this took about 450 years. After this, God

  73. gave them judges until the time of Samuel the

  74. prophet. Then the people asked for a king, and

  75. he gave them Saul son of Kish of the tribe of

  76. Benjamin, who ruled 40 years. After removing

  77. Saul, he made David their king. God testified

  78. concerning him. I have found David, son of Jesse,

  79. a man after my own heart. He will do everything

  80. I want him to do. From this man's ascendance,

  81. God has brought to Israel the Savior Jesus. As

  82. he promised, before the coming of Jesus, John

  83. preached repentance and baptism to all the people

  84. of Israel. As John was completing his work, he

  85. said, who do you suppose I am? I am not the one

  86. you are looking for, but there is one coming

  87. after me whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.
