Episode 6 - Byron and Jene' Hunter

Hello Oak Ridge family and friends. This is David

here with Byron and Janae Hunter and Today I've

asked them to share one of the elements that

points them to Christ. Hey Oak Ridge. So I chose

from David's acronyms I was going to share a

Christmas Carol that speaks to me if you will

and it's Oh Holy Night I'm not that sentimental

about Christmas carols, but I've always appreciated

this song and the lyric line that I really like

is or the singer is singing along and he or she

says along lay the world in sin and error pining

till he appeared and the soul felt its worth

and that's always really kind of got to me kind

of stirs emotion in me and I think that that

is one of the things that the church should be

about is finding a way to convince these souls

of their worth and the wife's genetic comes behind

that with not a very serious spiritual aphronym

word but tradition that I must do every year

came out of when we got in -laws when our children

got married and the first Christmas that we had

with them I made the scavenger hunt just for

fun and from then on it was required of me by

my in -laws and my daughter once in a long required

that I do it for all things so It has become

a challenge every year to come up with something

new. And I usually will take a Christmas book

and kind of read that story and the clues come

from that and make us think about some things.

I've incorporated our grandchildren now, but

that's going to be a tradition for us. You always

pull it off. The prophet Isaiah chapter 30, verses

Isaiah 30:18–26

18 through 26, and it's coming from the New International

Version. Therefore, He will rise up to show you

compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice.

Blessed are all who wait for Him. People of Zion

who live in Jerusalem, you will weep no more.

How gracious He will be when you cry for help.

As soon as He hears, He will answer you. Although

the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and

the water of affliction, your teachers will be

hidden no more. With your own eyes, you will

see them. Whether you turn to the right or to

the left, your ears will hear a voice behind

you saying, this is the way, walk in it. Then

you will desecrate your idols overlaid with silver

and your images covered with gold. You will throw

them away like a menstrual cloth and save them

away with you. It will also send you rain for

the seed you sow in the ground and the food that

comes from the land will be rich and plentiful.

In that day your cattle will graze in broad meadows.

The oxen and donkeys that work the soil will

eat fodder and mash, spread out with fork and

shovel. In the day of great slaughter, when the

towers fall, streams of water will flow on every

high mountain and every lofty hill. The moon

will shine like the sun, and the sunlight will

be seven times brighter like the light of seven

full days, when the Lord binds up the bruises

of his people and heals the wounds he inflicted.

Acts 13 verses 16 through 25. Standing up, Paul

Acts 13:16–25

motioned with his hand and said, fellow Israelites,

you and you Gentiles who worship God, listen

to me. The God of the people of Israel chose

our ancestors and made the people prosper during

their stay in Egypt. With mighty power, he led

them out of that country. For about 40 years,

he endured their conduct in the wilderness. and

he overthrew seven nations and came in, giving

their land to his people as their inheritance.

All this took about 450 years. After this, God

gave them judges until the time of Samuel the

prophet. Then the people asked for a king, and

he gave them Saul son of Kish of the tribe of

Benjamin, who ruled 40 years. After removing

Saul, he made David their king. God testified

concerning him. I have found David, son of Jesse,

a man after my own heart. He will do everything

I want him to do. From this man's ascendance,

God has brought to Israel the Savior Jesus. As

he promised, before the coming of Jesus, John

preached repentance and baptism to all the people

of Israel. As John was completing his work, he

said, who do you suppose I am? I am not the one

you are looking for, but there is one coming

after me whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.
