It's time for the Champions in Christ broadcast
-
with Rhonda Harrison on 1017 Fayette fan Good
-
morning and welcome to Champions in Christ broadcast.
-
Hallelujah. It is a new year. Hope you had a
-
great Celebration for the new year. It's a new
-
year a new day and a new plan God has for your
-
life today and this year, and I know it's going
-
to be a great year for you, your best year ever.
-
Can you receive that? Hallelujah. We're going
-
to go in the Word of God today and talk about
-
the greatness of God. We have so much to praise
-
Him for, so much to be thankful for. So let's
-
turn in our Bibles, excuse me, to Psalm 63. We're
-
going to read verses one through seven. And it
-
says, oh God, you aren't my God. Early will I
-
seek you. My soul thirsts for you. My flesh longs
-
for you in a dry and thirsty land where there
-
is no water. To see your power and your glory.
-
as I have seen in you in the sanctuary you know
-
you can have that same power and glory visit
-
you in the car visit you at home in the bathroom
-
shopping wherever you lift his name if you're
-
hungry and thirsty just as this scripture is
-
talking about and if you long for him like a
-
dry and thirsty land where there is no water
-
if you ever been really thirsty have you ever
-
ran a marathon or played a sport and you just
-
could wait to get that drink of water. Well that
-
is what Jesus is and so much more. Our Heavenly
-
Father and Jesus and the Holy Spirit, those three
-
are one, but they will pour into you the goodness
-
of God. It goes on to say, because your loving
-
kindness is better than life. That's right, God's
-
loving kindness is better than life. Hallelujah,
-
I get happy just thinking about it. It is so
-
good. My lips shall praise you. I will bless
-
the Lord while I live. I will lift up my hands
-
in your name. Why do we lift up our hands because
-
in school when you knew the answer you raised
-
your hands will guess who is the answer to all
-
things every question you have every problem
-
you need solving every single thing you need
-
or want or desire is in him and guess what he
-
is the beginning in the in the Alpha and Omega.
-
He knows exactly what we need. It says, when
-
I remember you upon my bed and I will meditate
-
on you in the night, because you have been my
-
help, therefore in the shadow of your wings,
-
I will rejoice. We always should be praising
-
the Lord. You know, if he did nothing else for
-
us but send Jesus to die and to be born again
-
and raised from the dead that we can eternally
-
live with him, if he never blessed us outside
-
of that, it would still be worth it. Why? Because
-
we were born into sin. The Bible says for all
-
of sin and come short of the glory of God. And
-
so we need that Savior. We need that saving grace.
-
We need that restoration with God that we can
-
reunite with our Heavenly Father. He loves you
-
more than you would ever know. And he loves me
-
too. And I'm so thankful for it. You know Psalms
-
66 says, make a joyful noise unto God. All the
-
lands and every land around the world make a
-
joyful noise unto the Lord. Glory to God. We
-
have a lot to be joyful and He will fill you
-
with that joy. The more you praise Him, the more
-
joyful you'll get. Why? Because you have no worries
-
in God. No worries. He said, anything outside
-
of faith is sin, so worry is sin. Don't worry
-
about it. Give it to God. whatever the situation.
-
You go, well, you don't know what I'm going through.
-
I've been through a lot myself, but guess what?
-
Every time I give it to him, I still get joy.
-
You can have peace in the midst of the storm.
-
You can have joy in the midst of the storm. You
-
say, how? Reach out to Jesus. He will come. His
-
presence will meet you. His power will meet you
-
the same way it has met you before. And if you've
-
never met him, you've never felt that power.
-
on his name. Check it out. You'll see exactly
-
what I'm saying. It says in verse 3, say unto
-
God how great are your works through the greatness
-
of your power shall enemies submit themselves
-
to you. All the earth shall worship you and shall
-
sing unto you and they will sing to your name.
-
Sila. Sila when you see that in the book of Psalms
-
it means stop. think about this just think about
-
how the great God is and how the whole earth
-
worships his name you know the Bible says if
-
we don't praise them the rocks will cry out well
-
I'm not having no rock take my place no way are
-
you kidding God's done too much for me if you
-
are breathing if you are living if you can see
-
if you can speak if you can hear you're already
-
blessed But how much more blessed will you be
-
to receive Jesus as your Savior? You know it
-
says in verse 5, come and see the works of God.
-
He is great in his doing towards the children
-
of men. He turned the sea into dry land and they
-
walked through the flood on foot. There did we
-
rejoice in him. This is talking about back when
-
Moses led the children of Israel across the Red
-
Sea. You know the sea opened up on each side.
-
They walked across and when the enemy that was
-
chasing them was followed them into the Red Sea.
-
The Red Sea came back down. The waters came back
-
down and the enemy was drowned. God loves you.
-
He will protect you. He will defend you. He will
-
work for you when you praise his name. It says
-
in verse seven, he ruled by his power forever.
-
His eyes behold all the nations. Let the rebellious
-
not exalt themselves. Selah. Better stop and
-
think about that. You know, the goodness of God,
-
the blessing of God, the grace of God, the mercy
-
of God is all ours when we turn towards him.
-
When we turn away and re -rebel, not so good.
-
The Bible says you don't want to fall into the
-
hands of an angry God Verse eight says Oh bless
-
our God you people make the voice of his praise
-
to be heard which holds our soul in life and
-
Suffers and or allows not our feet to be removed.
-
He will keep you in that place. He is your strength
-
He is your fortress. He holds our soul and life.
-
That is a powerful scripture. That is a powerful
-
scripture. He loves you and he loves me and God
-
is merciful in Psalm 67 it says to us and blesses
-
us and causes his face to shine upon us. That's
-
right. His mercy and his blessing is upon you
-
today and his face. He's causing his face. to
-
shine on you. Glory to God. Thank you, Lord.
-
Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. It's Hallelujah.
-
It says, so that thy way may be known upon the
-
earth and your saving health among the nations.
-
He wants to bring you life and health in Jesus
-
name. It says, Oh, let the nations be glad and
-
sing for joy for you will judge the people righteously
-
and govern the nations upon the earth. Sila stop
-
and think about that. He wants us to be full
-
of joy. We don't have to worry. He's got it taken
-
care of. We need to do. he says love God and
-
love people and all the other commandments hang
-
on that verse five let the people praise God
-
let all the people praise you then shall the
-
earth yield her increase God even our God shall
-
bless us God shall bless us and all the ends
-
of the earth will fear his name glory to God
-
He is such a good God. Remember back in Psalm
-
63, we need to thirst for Him and hunger for
-
Him like a dry and thirsty land where there is
-
no water. Praise God. Psalm 103, we're going
-
to go there. It says, bless the Lord, oh my soul,
-
and all that is within me. Bless his holy name.
-
Have you ever just lifted your hands, lifted
-
your head and say, I bless you, Lord. I love
-
you, Lord. Never be ashamed of our God. Never
-
be ashamed of your creator. He knew you before
-
you were in your mother's womb. He created you.
-
He gave you life and life abundantly, but it's
-
ours to take by faith. We have to do it his way.
-
Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and forget not all
-
his benefits. Verse two says, who forgives all
-
our iniquities, all your sin, all of it. He will
-
forgive all of it. if you will come and worship
-
Him. If you will come and give him your life,
-
it says who redeems our life from destruction.
-
That's right. He will save you out of that destructive
-
situation. He will save you out of destruction
-
on your job in your relationships. It doesn't
-
matter call on his name. Let him help you. But
-
he also saves us from ultimate destruction and
-
that's hell. There's a heaven and a hell. We
-
want to go to heaven and we want to shun hell
-
so we can do that. by accepting that redemption
-
that he did for us when he came on the cross
-
and rose again. And it also says, who satisfies
-
our mouth with good things so that our youth
-
is renewed like the eagles. Glory to God, we'll
-
take some of that youth, won't we? That's right,
-
he satisfies our mouth with good things so that
-
your youth, my youth, we will be strong. We will
-
live out our days in strength, the Bible says.
-
Hallelujah, it says in verse eight, the Lord
-
is merciful and gracious. He's slow to anger
-
and plenteous in mercy. Great abundance of mercy.
-
His mercies are new every morning. Did you use
-
up a mercy yesterday? Well, guess what? There's
-
a new one for you today. Glory to God. He loves
-
you and he loves me and he came on this earth,
-
sent his son, came in the form of a seed, was
-
birthed through a virgin, rose again, lived on
-
earth, rose again, died, rose again for you and
-
for me. Glory to God. Psalm 104, bless the Lord,
-
oh my soul. My God, you are very great. You are
-
clothed with honor and majesty. You cover yourself
-
with light like a garment. We're talking about
-
our God, your God and my God. He covers himself
-
like a garment with light. He stretched out the
-
heavens like a curtain. He laid the beams of
-
the chambers in the water. He makes the clouds
-
his chariot and he walks upon the wings. of the
-
wind glory to God. You know who wouldn't hunger
-
and thirst after this God who wouldn't hunger
-
and thirst. There's only one God one Savior one
-
mediator between God and man and that's Jesus
-
Christ. You don't have to turn to a man to confess
-
your sin. You can but when you confess it to
-
God and you repent it's gone forever. That's
-
the greatness of our God. We don't have to live
-
a condemned life because he's redeemed us from
-
that destruction. Glory to God. Glory to God.
-
We shout hallelujah. We praise God. I want you
-
to turn to John now in chapter four. We're going
-
to talk about thirsting for God. And in verse
-
seven, it says there came a woman of Samaria
-
to drink water and Jesus said to her, give me
-
to drink. They were seated at Jacob's well. It
-
talked about a few scriptures back and Jesus
-
had been weary from his journey so he sat down
-
at the well and he was going to look for some
-
water and his disciples were gone away from to
-
buy some meat at the time. Verse 9, and then
-
said the woman of Samaria to him, how is it that
-
you being Jew asked me to give me a drink because
-
Jesus said give me a drink. for the Jews have
-
no dealings with Samaritan. Because back in those
-
days, there was a separation, you know, of class
-
of people, just as men try to do that today.
-
But guess what? There is no difference in people
-
in God's eyes. We're all the same, just different
-
colors, just different faces, different fingerprints,
-
different voices, but in his eyes, he loves us
-
all the same. And so this woman's questioning
-
him. You're Jewish. I'm a Samaritan. Why are
-
you talking to me? And Jesus said, if you knew
-
the gift of God and who it is that says to you,
-
give me a drink, you would have asked of him
-
and he would have given you living water. Wow,
-
living water. Then the woman said, Sir, I have
-
nothing to draw. The well is deep for this living
-
water and you greater than our father, Jacob,
-
who gave us as well and drink from it. And Jesus
-
said unto her whosoever drinks of this water
-
will thirst again, but whosoever drinks of the
-
water I will give will never thirst, but the
-
water I give him will be springing of a well
-
of life into everlasting life. hallelujah wow
-
and then the woman said verse 15 sir give me
-
this water i thirst not neither come here to
-
draw he she was hungry she was thirsty she wanted
-
that living water do you today Do you desire
-
the living water of Christ? Could you take a
-
fresh drink? Wouldn't you like this year to be
-
the greatest year you've ever had? It can be.
-
It will be if you, number one, believe it. If
-
you, number two, ask for more living water of
-
God. Ask Him to pour into you. Ask Him to give
-
you that life flow. overflowing of goodness.
-
He's an abundant God. You know when you pour
-
a pitcher of water into a glass, when it gets
-
to the top most people stop, but not Jesus. He
-
keeps pouring and it's spilling over and what
-
we call waste, God calls overflow. How would
-
you like an overflow of the living water of God,
-
glory to Jesus? An overflow of his goodness,
-
an overflow of healing, an overflow of strength,
-
an overflow of the fire of God. God, an overflow
-
of his mercy and his grace. Grace, grace. God
-
is a God of grace and mercy and love and it's
-
good news. Hallelujah. It is good news. So this
-
woman was at the well. She just came normal like
-
every day, but this day she met up with Jesus.
-
You know, Jesus will align our life and set up
-
situations for us to meet him. You know, maybe
-
for me, a friend of mine invited me and began
-
talking to me about the Lord. And I wasn't raised
-
in a Christian home. I didn't know about Jesus.
-
We had a big fat Bible on our coffee table, but
-
no one ever talked about him. My parents didn't
-
know him at the time. Later they did, thank God.
-
They're in heaven now, glory to God. And we had
-
Bible story books, but no, there was no real
-
connection there until my friend. began to talk
-
to me about Jesus and I got born again. because
-
of the message of the gospel, of the good news.
-
And you can be born again too. You can live this
-
life if you don't know him. If you do know him
-
and you've walked away or you got disappointed
-
and didn't understand something, don't blame
-
God. Go to his word and find out how good he
-
is. You'll realize God will take your ashes and
-
turn it into beauty. He'll take that bad situation
-
and bless you and flip that thing around. you'll
-
be surprised what God can do with a very little.
-
He said if you have faith of a mustard seed,
-
you know we need to praise him and thank him.
-
You know how good he is. He's so good that in
-
the book of John, way over in the last chapter
-
21 in verse 25, John wrote and said, and there
-
also were many other things which Jesus did that
-
if it should be written every one, I would suppose
-
that even the world itself could not contain
-
the books that should be written. Wow, that's
-
how good God is. He's all the time pouring out
-
his goodness. He's all the time pouring out his
-
grace, his mercy, his healing, his strength,
-
his deliverance. Maybe it's deliverance you need.
-
Maybe you've been fighting a battle with alcohol
-
or drugs or pornography or any kind of gossip.
-
Maybe you have a problem with gossip. Guess what?
-
The Deliverer. God says he will set you free.
-
All you have to do is call on him and say, Lord,
-
ask him. Say, please help me. Give me deliverance.
-
He will set you free in a moment. You just have
-
to say, I believe it and I receive it and begin
-
to walk it out. That's right. We're going to
-
go to a song right now. a couple of songs. They're
-
both going to be about praise. Just praise and
-
worship God and I'll come back and talk to you
-
in just a moment. Let every breath praise the
-
Lord. Every bit of worship to our God. Hallelujah.
-
I want to offer you an opportunity right now.
-
If you've never received this Jesus, but you
-
want to, just pray this prayer with me. Dear
-
Heavenly Father, I come before you. I need you.
-
I want you. I ask you to come into my life. I
-
repent of my sin. I renounce the world, and I
-
thank you that Jesus is my Lord. In Jesus' name,
-
amen. If you prayed that prayer, you've been
-
born again. All of heaven rejoices and calls
-
out your name. You need to go out and share with
-
someone that you did that. God said, if we will
-
not be ashamed of him, he won't be ashamed of
-
us. Get in a good Bible -believing church. Praise
-
the Lord. Read the word yourself. We want you
-
to have a blessed year. I declare a blessing
-
over you if you're within my voice right now
-
I declare the blessing of God over you. I speak
-
blessing and strength and healing and fire We
-
thank you for listening today go out and make
-
it a great day know that we love you God loves
-
you and you are a champion in Christ
