  1. Hi, Oak Ridge friends and family. This is David

  2. here and I'm with Brad and Teresa Macklemore

  3. today We're gonna share some scripture readings

  4. today But before that I would like for them to

  5. share a little element that points to Christ

  6. during this season Hi, this is Brad and when

  7. I think of this season it used to be all about

  8. Jesus birth but now that we're more into the

  9. Advent season and a done devotionals and stuff

  10. it's really to me more about the return of Christ

  11. and the restitution of all things that's what

  12. it means to me now and as far as something from

  13. Christmas of course with me it's all about food

  14. right so when I was a kid my mother used to make

  15. cinnamon rolls in a ring she called it a t -ring

  16. and one year and maybe a couple of years she

  17. made one of those for every single teacher that

  18. I might brother and my sister had at the school

  19. like 17 or 18 of these things and we gave everyone

  20. that's why we got such good grades and the other

  21. recipe that that's traditional is on the Christmas

  22. morning I get up early and make a it's really

  23. a muffin but it's almost a doughnut it's called

  24. french breakfast puffs they're basically muffins

  25. rolled in butter and cinnamon and sugar which

  26. anything's good your tennis shoe is good if it's

  27. rolled in butter and cinnamon and sugar so They're

  28. really good, but I've done that for 20 years,

  29. made those in the morning. So those are, those

  30. are some things that I think about. And I guess

  31. mine is a memory that I had with my extended

  32. family with all of my cousins. We were a pretty

  33. large family. My mom had four siblings and we

  34. had 13 grandkids and it was singing. We would

  35. either go Christmas caroling. Well, we always

  36. did that. But then we also would just get around

  37. together in the head of guitars. We just had

  38. a good time singing all those Christmas songs.

  39. This is Isaiah 24, verse 16 verses I'll be reading

    Isaiah 24:16

  40. from the easy to read version. slaves and masters

  41. will be the same. Women slaves and their women

  42. masters will be the same. Those who buy and those

  43. who sell will all be the same. Those who borrow

  44. and those who lend will be the same. Bankers

  45. and those who owe the bank will be the same.

  46. Everyone will be forced out of the land. All

  47. the wealth will be taken. This will happen because

  48. the Lord commanded it. The country will be empty

  49. and sad. The world will be empty and weak. The

  50. great leaders of the people in this land will

  51. become weak. The people have ruined the land.

  52. They did what God said is wrong. They did not

  53. obey God's laws. They made an agreement with

  54. God a long time ago, but they broke their agreement

  55. with God. The people living in this land are

  56. guilty of doing wrong. So God has vowed to destroy

  57. the land. The people will be punished and only

  58. a few of them will survive. The grapevines are

  59. dying and the new wine is bad. People who are

  60. happy are now sad. They have stopped showing

  61. their joy. The happy music from the drums and

  62. harps has ended. They no longer sing as they

  63. drink their wine. The beer now tastes bitter

  64. to those who drink it. Total confusion is a good

  65. name for this city. The city has been destroyed.

  66. People cannot enter the houses. The doors are

  67. blocked. People still ask for wine in the marketplaces.

  68. But all the joy is gone. It was carried off with

  69. everything else. All that is left is destruction.

  70. Even the gates are crushed. All over the earth,

  71. in every nation, only a few people will be left

  72. alive. Like the few olives left in a tree or

  73. the grapes left on a vine after harvest. Those

  74. still living will shout and sing for joy. In

  75. the West they praise the Lord's greatness. So

  76. the people in the East should praise the Lord.

  77. People in lands beyond the sea should honor the

  78. name of the Lord, the God of Israel. We hear

  79. songs from everywhere on earth praising God who

  80. does what is right. But I say enough! I've had

  81. enough. What I see is terrible. Traitors are

  82. turning against people and hurting them. First

  83. Thessalonians 4 starting with verse 1. Brothers

  84. and sisters, now I have some other things to

  85. tell you. We taught you how to live in a way

  86. that will please God and you are living that

  87. way. Now we ask and encourage you and the Lord

  88. Jesus to live that way more and more. You know

  89. all that we told you to do by the authority of

  90. the Lord Jesus. God wants you to be holy. He

  91. wants you to stay away from sexual sins. God

  92. wants each one of you to learn to control your

  93. own body. Use your body in a way that is holy

  94. and that gives honor to God. Don't let your sexual

  95. desires control you like the people who don't

  96. know God. Never wrong any of your fellow believers

  97. or cheat them in this way. The Lord will punish

  98. those who do that. We have already told you this

  99. and warned you about it. God shows us to be holy.

  100. He does not want us to live in sin. So anyone

  101. who refuses to obey this teaching is refusing

  102. to obey God, not us. And God is the one who gives

  103. you His Holy Spirit. We don't need to write to

  104. you about having love for your brothers and sisters

  105. in Christ. God has already taught you to love

  106. each other. In fact, you love all the believers

  107. in Macedonia. We encourage you now, brothers

  108. and sisters, to show your love more and more.

  109. Do all you can to live a peaceful life Mind your

  110. own business and earn your own living as we told

  111. you before if you do these things Then those

  112. who are not believers will respect the way you

  113. live and you will not have to depend on others

  114. for what you need
