  1. Hello, this is David here with Nick and Chelsea

  2. Jones briscoe and today they're going to read

  3. us a couple of scriptures But before they do

  4. I would like for them to share something that

  5. points them to Christ Okay, I have a story about

  6. Canyon our son when he was about two years old

  7. at Christmas time we had bought him a little

  8. car track tower and he didn't know that it was

  9. for him. And Christmas morning, I set it up and

  10. he came out of his room. And the amazement on

  11. his face and the joy and wonder was just so refreshing

  12. and made me notice the joy that we are going

  13. to have one day when Christ returns. One of my

  14. favorite moments from Christmas, I mean, there's

  15. so a lot of them, but it also has to do with

  16. Canyon. was when he was on his first Christmas.

  17. He wasn't a year old yet, but he was a big, chubby

  18. little baby. If you weren't around and don't

  19. remember him then, just ask Chelsea. She'll show

  20. you pictures. But we were sitting with the Christmas

  21. tree and we look over there and Canyon's sitting

  22. there on the tree skirt, just playing with all

  23. the wads, had himself kind of wrapped up a little

  24. bit in lots, lots draped all over his cutest

  25. moment, cutest picture. It just kind of reminds

  26. me of how we're supposed to be like a child and

  27. approach everything with that kind of faith.

  28. And it was a good moment. I will be reading Luke

    Luke 1:46–55

  29. chapter 1, verses 46 through 55 in the ERV. Mary

  30. responded, oh, how my soul praises the Lord.

  31. how my spirit rejoices in God my Savior. For

  32. he took notice of his lowly servant girl, and

  33. from now on all generations will call me blessed.

  34. For the mighty one is holy, and he has done great

  35. things for me. He shows mercy from generation

  36. to generation to all who fear him. His mighty

  37. arm has done tremendous things. He has scattered

  38. the proud and haughty ones. He has brought down

  39. princes from their thrones and exalted the humble.

  40. He has filled the hungry with good things and

  41. sent the rich away with empty hands. He has helped

  42. his servant Israel and remembered to be merciful.

  43. For he made this promise to our ancestors, to

  44. Abraham and his children forever. Today we're

  45. going to be reading 2 Samuel chapter 7 verses

    2 Samuel 7:18

  46. 18 and 23 through 29. King David went and sat.

  47. Beef are the Lord and sad. Who am I, O Lord God,

  48. and what is my family that you should have brought

  49. me to this point? Who is like your people Israel,

  50. a unique nation on the earth? There God went

  51. to claim a nation for himself and to make a name

  52. for himself. You did great and awesome acts for

  53. your land. before your people whom you delivered

  54. for yourself from the Egyptian empire and its

  55. gods. You made Israel your very own people for

  56. all time. You, O Lord, became their God. So now,

  57. O Lord God, make this promise you have made about

  58. your servant and his family a permanent reality.

  59. Do as you promised, so you may gain lasting fame,

  60. as people say. The Lord of Hosts is God over

  61. Israel. The dynasty of your servant, David, will

  62. be established before you. For you, O Lord of

  63. Hosts, the God of Israel, I have told your servant,

  64. I will build you a dynastic house. This is what

  65. your servant has had the courage to pray, this

  66. prayer to you. Now, O sovereign Lord, you are

  67. the true God. May your words prove to be true.

  68. You have made this good promise to Your servants.

  69. Now be willing to bless Your servant's dynasty

  70. so that it may stand permanently before You.

  71. For You, O Sovereign Lord, have spoken. By Your

  72. blessing, may Your servant's dynasty be blessed

  73. on into the future.
