-
There was something that Brother Cornette kept saying during the revioble, and I think
-
Pastor even touched on it he U when he would call us to the aunt,
-
he would say, there's somebody who needs to make a promise to God.
-
Somebody us needs to make a vow to God. And that kept going
-
over in my mind, and of course throughout that week I thought about don't
-
make a foolish good and what the Bible says about don't vow something that you're
-
not going you know you're not going to pay, um, that you're not
-
willing to pay, that you're not able to pay today, am I reading,
-
and then that led to, um, if you make a vow,
-
then you need to do what you said, you need to obey it.
-
And I got to thinking about when we got saved, we promised God that
-
would be a soldier. We'd promised God that would be a Christian. That's
-
something that we've got to Um, We've got to obey that promise because we
-
made him our lord and savior, and as our lord, whatever he bids
-
us, we must obey. And that I came across his verse today in
-
my read it was Hebrews five nine. He says, and being made perfect,
-
he became the author of eternal salvation unto all of them that obey him.
-
And then also as I was going through the photo circle today, there
-
was two comments that were recent and they both talked about obeying God for this
-
service was one and one was talking about for the upcoming um for the convention.
-
And so that that kept going over my mind. As you made a
-
promise and following through his obedience and whatsoever evinced me I want to do.
-
I'm a glad pilgrim on my way. Gold opens to understand saying that I
-
never knew sinking to reason that could be somebody's the way is what us taking
-
me? So said, why Jesus away? I happy go? It sounds
-
like he Besis. Why should I side only a side side. I'm on
-
my other. I got leave the shuff my my, take myself away,
-
my time. I always love the same. That's golf like mind myself for
-
the mom. He's exactly sounds the church inside, all the child, this
-
much everything. I M. Yeah, alrighty oh, thank God. I
-
want to say, I'm thankful to be in the house for God to not
-
um looking forward to see you what God has a score. There's been a
-
verse that's been on my heart. I was reading been several days ago.
-
Before I um went into work. I tried to read and pray every morning
-
for good and it's John chapter ten, verse one. It says, verily,
-
verily, I say under you he that entereth not by the dory to
-
the sheep fold, but climbeth up some other way, the same as a
-
thief and a robber. I'll begin to think, you know, that's where
-
a lot of people mess up, is trying to do things their own way,
-
going a different way, and that don't I think right there was mainly
-
talking about salvation, but it's not just salvation, sanctification, the Holy Ghost
-
and different things you know getting refilled. You got to submit to God and
-
he'll take care of you. And brother Tyler, would you please prayer of
-
this offer. I'm so glad I hear seriti God allwy different brains have the
-
boys be lame? Should got the stool seeing spiking my back whereby I said
-
it was the jorious be held stop when you need us me go back riding
-
all my time. I'll hear you do me. I have a plan and
-
we'll rest me. You won't be talking to he is mine to listen at
-
plan time. My plans to show my breast on the home when the Lord
-
sing the worst see and Iforial do me your count shaving for my back biding
-
along time, I still told me you were he walks playing my game,
-
Beorial shaming you out. I got saved my pass. Well let me ride
-
by iorious seen if I won't the way design be durned Jesus one, I
-
can't fight my well, my well, do your time out. I go
-
to my backside of my every day. I'll let me. I love you.
-
Was I heard the thing please I got of God I all your don
-
your house. You're gonna be say my boy on my lone wherever day after
-
be I have work that listen walk to be heart a man, Thank you
-
musicians, ain't y'all thank you for the presence of the Lord. And then
-
we're so grateful for what we feel tonight, what the Lord's already done.
-
And then we know he has great plans and man above what we can thank
-
or ask amen things that God could do in this service. M I was
-
thinking while I was over there, there was a part in that first song
-
with something that stood out to me and talked about unless you do what the
-
Lord says do, you're not gonna get what you've been asking for. You
-
know, there's there's some people that they get in trouble because they they ask
-
certain things because the Bible says they want to consume it on their own lust,
-
and they ask a miss amen. But here tonight we're looking forward to
-
what God's want to do Amen. His as has often said that altar service
-
maybe is uh if you would, though sometimes they call it the most important
-
part of the service, and it truly can't be if you let it be
-
Amen. But there's too many people sometimes they get down Pastor and they ask
-
a miss They they asked to please so and so, and they asked so
-
so and so see a change. But it's got to be more than a
-
mess. It's gotta be more than just so someone makes you feel good and
-
said, wow, I remember how so and so used to be now a
-
little bit where God's brought him to Amen. That would be a bad way
-
to pray. That would be a bad reason to pray. A man.
-
We pray because we've got to be perfected. We've got to grow a man.
-
We want Brother Philip to get ready and come around and preach to us.
-
We know he's got a burden. Amen. But if you don't let
-
it affect you the way it needs to a man, if you don't let
-
God work on you when you do things a mess, Amen, it's not
-
gonna have the desired effect of God. You know God's gonna desire for the
-
non service. Amen. But don't standing the way. Come on, brother
-
Philip, preach to us tonight. Let's worship the Lord. Amen, the
-
Lord, Thank Pastor Howe and Brother to Thaming for the opportunity. So I've
-
had going over and over and in my mind something I heard of the rand
-
new Web say one time speaking of a man. They said, it's I
-
think it's a fictitious story. Um. He was stranding on an island all
-
by himself, and so sometime went by, they went to rescue and they
-
said, sir, what's that building? He said, all, that's my
-
church, And they said, well, what's that building? Then it's just
-
you. He said, that's the church I used to go to. So
-
I think the Lord for the spirit of unity we feel here. Um,
-
we'll be reading out of the Book of Judges, chapter sixteen, in verse
-
one. Yeah, help us the starting verse one to read verse one and
-
two. Then went Samson to Gaza and saw there in harley and went in
-
onto her. And it was told the gay's eyes saying sam Si has come
-
hither. And they could passed him in and laid wait for him all night
-
in the gate of the city. And we're quiet all the night, save
-
in the morning, when it is day, we shall kill him. Stretch
-
your hands with heaven or prey. We know if Samson as a as a
-
mighty man of God. There for a time, and uh we read in
-
uh it's second it's Judges chapter fifteen. We read of Samson how he slayed
-
one thousand men with the jaw bone of an ass one chapter prior to him
-
going into the into a harlet Delilah. And in that same chapter, after
-
he killed the one thousand men, he starts asking God, shall I die
-
of thirst? And as we know in the previous chapter we just read,
-
God didn't let that happen. He supplied him water out of the jaw bone.
-
And uh, I will be quite lengthy right here for a moment in
-
my reading, we'll Judges will read of Judges sixteen three through twenty. He
-
says, and Sampson lads hill till midnight, and a rose at midnight and
-
took the door of the gates of the city and the two posts, and
-
went away with them, bar and all, and put them upon his shoulders
-
and carry them up to the top of the heel. That that is before
-
hebron And it come to pass afterwards that he loved a woman in the valley
-
of Sorek, whose name was Delilah. And the Lord of the Philistines come
-
up unto her, and said, unto her, entice him, and see
-
where in his great strength Liah And by what means we might prevail against him,
-
that we might bind him to afflict him, and we will give Thee
-
every one of us eleven hundred, eleven hundred pieces of silver. I'm not
-
mistaken. I believe Judas betrayed Jesus for thirty I gotta think of Judas,
-
what a fool. No money's worth it. But Delilah got eleven hundred.
-
We don't know how many lords of the Philistine, how many lords of the
-
Philistine there was, So I mean she fared pretty well. And it says
-
and Delilah said to Sampson, tell me, I'm pretty where in thy Greek
-
strength lithe? And wherewith wherewith thou mightest be bound to afflict thee and senses
-
sitting to her, If thou, if thoy, if they bind me with
-
seven green widths which were never dried, I then I shall be weak and
-
be as any other man. And then the lord of the Philistines brought up
-
under her seven width which had not been dried. And she brought him,
-
and she bound him with them. And there were many men laying in way,
-
abiding, abiding with her in the chamber, and she said on it
-
unto him, the Philistines be upon thee sensing, and he breaked the whist
-
with a thread of two, as a thread of toe is broken when it
-
touches the fire, so that his strength was not known. And Deliah said,
-
on the sense, and behold, thou hast mocked me and told me
-
lies. Now tell me I pray thee wherewith thou mightest be bound? And
-
he's sitting to her. If they bind me fast with new ropes were never
-
occupied, then I shall be weak and be as any other men. The
-
Lilah therefore took new ropes and bound him therew and said to him, the
-
Philistines be upon thee Sampson, And there were liers in wait abiding in the
-
chamber, and he breaked, and he breaked them from off his arms like
-
a thread. And Delilah said, under Simpson, here too, if thou
-
hast mocked me and told me lies, tell me where when thou mightest be
-
bound? And he's said it to her, if thou weavest to set of
-
locks of my head with the web, and she fastened it with the pen,
-
and said to him, the Philistines be upon the Simpson. And he
-
awaked out of his sleep and went away with a pen of the beam with
-
it and with the web. And she said to him, how canst thou
-
say I love THEE when thy heart is not with me? Thou hast mocked
-
me these three times, and hath not told me where in thy great strength
-
lion. And it come to pass when she when she pressed him daily with
-
her words and urged him so that his soul was vexed unto death. And
-
he told her all his heart and said, unto her, therefore, have
-
not a razor come upon my head, For I have been in Nazare unto
-
God. I got to think about brother Calebs Testimon what he said. There
-
is some of some vows we take that we have to we have to stay
-
committed to says, I have been a NAZAREI under God from my mother's womb.
-
If I be shaven, then if I be shaven, then my strength
-
will be gone from me, and I shall become weak and be as any
-
other man. And when the Lata saw that he had told her all his
-
heart, she's see called for the lords of the Philistines saved come up this
-
once, for he has showed me all his heart. Then the lord of
-
the lords of the Philistines come up unto her and brought her and brought money
-
in their hands. They knew they'd had him this time. They could tell
-
by how the Lalla was active. And she made him sleep upon her knees,
-
and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off
-
the seven locks of of his head, and she began to afflict him,
-
and his strength went out from him, and she said to the philistines.
-
She said, the philistines be upon the sense, and then he will woke
-
out of his sleep, and said, I will go out for any other
-
time. I will go out as at other times before I and shake myself.
-
And he whisked, not that the Lord had departed from him. It
-
was lengthy reading, but I felt led to read that us got found my
-
place here. I've got so many notes right now. What stood out to
-
me is the um. Verse three. It says, um, let me
-
find and he knew stuff that was wrong, that there was a possible set
-
up, um he could do. He knew he was doing wrong, ye
-
Andy. In Verse five, it says, and the Lord of the phillis
-
things come up to her, and setting to her, entiree him and see
-
where it in his great strength liath I gotta think about that um, find
-
out find out where his strength liath, and that they would give her um
-
one thousand, eleven hundred pieces of silver and piece. What stood out to
-
me is Samson be a fool. She literally righted. She even went so
-
far as to ask him wherewith they all mightus be bound to afflict thee SAMs
-
If that's your seven, your second, uh, I would call your second
-
blister. You started feeling you knew something wasn't or right, And uh if
-
if I'm very thankful every time you feel that blister, that uncomfortable. And
-
then in a verse seven, Simpson begins to lie to her three verse seven
-
and Simpson set up on her. If they buyd me with seven dream with
-
that will never drive, then I shall be weakened me as any other man.
-
Samson was right here in this moment we realized he was really playing games
-
with this. He decided just to I. Maybe if he would have come
-
right out with it from the beginning and said, I'll tell you I'm a
-
nather right, I got a call on my life from God, then maybe
-
Delilah would have never had the chance. He should have took he the first
-
time she said that they all mightus be bound to afflict there and then Uh,
-
it's in the same verse, I believe I were to then Samson alive
-
so much, his blister begins to get callous, and he starts getting closer
-
to the truth. Um it's in verse seventeen. I believe it says that
-
he told her all his heart now too far ahead, pardon me, um,
-
helpless lord Um right here vers sam begins to lie to her and tell
-
her if he'd be bound with the whist And then she said, Samson,
-
the philistines be upon me and he broke them as a thread. And in
-
verse ten she begins to play with Samson's emotions and tell him you mocked me
-
and lied to me. Samson should have never fooled around that first time they
-
get caught him this trap. And then in verse eleven he lies again and
-
then he starts. Um. He tells her get the ropes that have never
-
occupied, never been used. That was also another lie. Um, it
-
says its lot so much. His blister begins to callous, and he starts,
-
uh getting closer to the truth. In verse seventeen, it says,
-
I wrote my prone verse down. I guess um that was lord, and
-
a lot was said her named Sampson, here to it. Thou hast mocked
-
me and told me, lies, tell me where when thou litest be bound?
-
And he said, in to hear, if thou weavest the seven locks
-
in my head with the web. Right there, Sampson starts getting so close
-
to the truth. It's scarily how close he gets. He decides Um at
-
that point, you know, he starts getting so close to it. I
-
don't know why he would get so comfortable with a harlot like that. And
-
he said, in to hear, if thou weavest the seven locks in my
-
head with the web, some of that stuff me, I missed it somewhere.
-
I lost my track. Um in them versus you read and she says,
-
Samson, the Philistines be upon thee, and it says that they were
-
in the chamber with the Lilla. At this point it was a game with
-
Samson. You don't wake up being bound and see somebody coming out of this
-
hardly that you're with chamber that's like a back bedroom. He knew it was
-
a setup, but he kept playing around time and time and time again,
-
and we had to learn to be wiser than the devil with those things.
-
I gotta think about. That is so sad that SAMs and it had truly
-
become a game for him. He was having a kick out of it.
-
Go ahead and buy my hands, go ahead and buy my hair, and
-
then just fool around and wake me up, and I'll shake myself. Let
-
me put a show on for you, baby. That's really sad. He
-
begins to get camped and starts to tell the truth. And then at fifteen
-
she said, unto him, how canst thou say I love THEE with thine
-
heart is gnaw with me? Thou hast mocked me these three times, and
-
hast not told me wherein my great strength lieth? And when she impressed him
-
daily with her words and urged him so that his soul was vexed unto death,
-
that's that's really hard to believe her. And then it uh verse seventeen
-
when we read that when it says so that was starting to bott a sixteen.
-
So it's his soul was vexed unto death that he told her, always
-
heard and said under her, thou hast there hath not a razor come upon
-
my head, For I have been a Nazarite under God from my mother's wound.
-
If I be shaven, then my strength will go from me and I
-
was, and I shall become weak and be like any other man. Yeah,
-
was hard. Oh, I gotta think of that. This right here
-
at Sating is getting so callous. He's so close to the truth. Then
-
it says, and when she had told, and when and when she had
-
told that he had told him. He told her his heart she'd speaking to
-
the Philistine, the lord of the Philistines. They called for the Philistine men,
-
and she made him sleep upon her knees and had a man shave off
-
the seven locks that he had. See. I gotta thinking about if Samson
-
wouldn't have food around. I believe it's seeing First thirteen where he's telling her
-
to weave his hair. Now right here it comes back to Guinea my chance.
-
Maybe it's it might not have been the same day, but maybe his
-
hair was already weaving. I got when I was the child. I always
-
thought of that. Um, how in the world he's sleeping, How do
-
you complete? I would wake up? But I guess if it's already woven
-
into seven locks, it's much easier to shave off. Because he was fooling
-
a sound. It was already gone prepared and we had to We can't get
-
callous in these things that I thank the Lord for every time he deals with
-
us. And I've almost done, but the thing that's done to me,
-
I, oh, then I'm here to tell someone to night. You don't
-
have to be like Sampson. You don't have to sear your conscience with a
-
hot iron. I gotta think if Sampson would have UM would have done better.
-
And in that time he could have UM. They could have told the
-
Philistine that first time they bounded him, rejoice not against the old mine enemy,
-
for when I fall, I shall arise. And the Lord really had
-
a call on Sampson's life as we read, and Uh, Sampson just playing
-
games man, he's having too much fun with Delilah, sitting there fooling around.
-
That's I want to go back to that. Um. I can find
-
it. The fact it's first seventeen. I believe no, uh where he's
-
speaking of where um where she tells them sense and the Philistines be upon the
-
and and he awakened that he sees him come out of the chamber. What
-
a fool? Why would any of us dare to be like that. We
-
know, and it's a set up. People will set you up here in
-
this life. And they know what she she had to him, knew he
-
was a Nazarite. He's he's not from that saying, I guess the same
-
country or you know area. He's come into their city after destroying one thousand
-
or their their men, and now he goes into their harlot and uh,
-
the foolishness is Sense and just really troubled me. And I don't I know,
-
it's pretty short, but we really don't have to be as foolish as
-
Sam. It's it's Craig, I don't know. Don't be a fool.
-
God God tried to help Sense, and many times, over and over and
-
over again he tried to help Sampson. He didn't He could have took it
-
strength the first time, but he gave Sampson yet again another try. And
-
uh, I think the Lord for what he's done. Let's just not get
-
callous to the blisters when our pastor comes down our room. Though. It's
-
bad enough to be to the point where you're getting blisters, but never never
-
ever get to the point where you're callous to where y'all can't deal with you
-
to where you shrug it off, to where you're saints and you're there to
-
put a show on him. Sanson was fooling around with the Liana want too
-
many, once, force too many, three times four time he playing games,
-
and we have to get to that point where we don't play games with
-
yad were where when we feel that blister, we say um. She said,
-
they're saying coming. I come into her house and said, they say,
-
well, hey, how can we afflict you? That's a Telchell sign.
-
So whenever you feel those the stains, don't get cattlest to it.
-
When the pastor priests is a message, heed it, don't do it,
-
don't get causis very very easy to think all the pick pick fortry listing or
-
whatever, where you just go. And that's kind of what Stand said.
-
He just I'll be all right, let me put on a show. He
-
said he loved this girl. Man, I think the Lord for what he's
-
done. And let's let's not let our blisters turn into calisis. Let's let's
-
let's stay soft hearted. We can't see her share her heart with an iron.
-
That's a I'd be a terrible place to be here. Yeah, I
-
think the Lord really just would you come to the pen of the night but
-
a man? Praise God if you would. Let's stand all over the house.
-
I mean, I believe God has spoken to someone, a man,
-
I know, a mean brother. Philip had him and a burden, and
-
the Lord as spoke. Amen. We can't afford to see our consciency a
-
man. We can't afford to get callous, A mean. We've got to
-
listen to God the first time. Amen. We've got to have ears to
-
hear in hearts and a willing to be obedient. Let's come on in and
-
praise who was you? Amen? Amen, Let's be honest with God.
-
Denied the Lord. It's me standing in the need of prayer. God,
-
I know, Lord, I need a change in my life. God help
-
us tonight even Lord, would you work? I take the way stair row
-
in the room straight, lady, riding to stay to be changing. I't
-
again in trance. I'm not taking it a trance. I'll take the road.
-
I know the way that time, it's the only one that will be
-
the roastle away istrange. But to me ride to him us you have me
-
chan to come to La. I'm not taking it any trans what people looking
-
me the thing, I'm just a little bit of a shrine, and they
-
can't believe, after all these years I still live away. They save the
-
time to change, say there is your place. You guess you have the
-
blessings without leaving bad way when you can think, why you please? But
-
what I found on my knees, it beans anything this world of fe I'm
-
not taking it any chances. I'll take the road. I know it's away
-
that I says, try don't know, but it's the only one cattle say
-
the road is strow with the way stro but didn't believe me right to him
-
and stain and run to. So I'm not taking it any chance. I'm
-
not taking any chance. I'll shake you God, I feels away. Now
-
let's try blow the only one least and the way is ray. I din't
-
play the ride to say, ask me to shake to I'm not taking in
-
any chance. Looking me, they play I'm just a little bit old fashion.
-
All they can believe after all these years I still live away. Due
-
and they say the times to change the day, they're easier ways. You
-
can't still have the blessings without living bad way. But what I found on
-
by it meansing is a world of me. So why I'm not taking any
-
chance I'll take. I know he less rive. It's the only one that
-
the road said away stream, who didn't believe the right to game. You're
-
asking me to change to come too. I'm not taking any trans I'm not
-
taking any friends. He's trime, that lame be. The wood is terrow
-
and the way strange you did believe be right
