  1. How many is thankful to be here tonight? Talking about

  2. having a soft heart and pliable. I remember and even

  3. still any message that so much as nicks me or

  4. hits me hard, I still still have a soft heart

  5. towards the things of God and hearing the voice of

  6. the Lord. I don't want to do anything that offends

  7. my God or anything that'll go against the word of God.

  8. I'm certainly thankful to be here. I'm certainly thankful for

  9. this opportunity. I appreciate my pastor and my youth pastor.

  10. I love them dearly. They mean the world to me.

  11. Role models, examples of how it's supposed to be done.

  12. There's so many other young people in the church that

  13. and churches across the United States, they really don't have

  14. solid examples that are set before them and follow.

  15. You hear a pastor talk about his pastor.

  16. Whenever he was a young man, sending him to the

  17. car and country music playing. I don't think any of

  18. our young people here has ever experienced that from their pastor.

  19. That ought not to be for their youth pastor, but

  20. I'm thankful for the opportunity.

  21. Appreciate you giving. May the Lord richly bless you.

  22. You could be turning to the The book of Acts,

  23. the book of Acts chapter 28. The Lord gave me

    Acts 28 chapter mention

  24. this message Wednesday, Wednesday afternoon at 423. I was down

  25. praying before service and I don't think it's strange the

  26. way the service went Wednesday concerning this message here. But

  27. we'll be looking in Acts chapter 28 verses 2 through 5.

    Acts 28:2–5

  28. So everybody should now, if you have.

  29. Your Bibles, you should see about where we're going and

  30. understand what was said Wednesday and how the Lord lined

  31. this up.

  32. We do give God the praise and the glory for it.

  33. But right here in Acts chapter 28, verse 2, And

    Acts 28:2

  34. the barbarous people showed us no little kindness, for they

  35. kindled a fire and received every one of us because

  36. of the present rain.

  37. And because of the cold.

  38. And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and

  39. laid them on the fire, there came a viper out

  40. of the heat and fastened on his hand. And when

  41. the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang from his hand,

  42. they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer,

  43. whom though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth

  44. not to live. And he shook off the beast into

  45. the fire and felt no harm. Lift your hands and

  46. ask the Lord to help us here tonight. God of heaven, Lord,

  47. we ask you right now in the name of Jesus, God. God,

  48. that you would anoint us, Lord, that we would say, Lord,

  49. only what the things that you would have us to say, Lord.

  50. That we would do your will, Lord, only your will, God,

  51. and preach, Lord, with the anointing.

  52. Lord, we ask that you would pour out your spirit

  53. upon every one of us, Lord. God, touch a young

  54. person here tonight. Lord, God, touch a young child, Lord God,

  55. whatever the age is, God, that we ask you, Lord,

  56. that we would be able to get through to them

  57. through your help, God, and through your grace, God, and

  58. through your mercy, God, and we'll be sure to give

  59. you all the praise, the honor, and the glory. Lord, hallelujah, Lord,

  60. we'll praise you forever, Lord. In Jesus' name we ask

  61. and we pray. Amen and amen. Now, most snakes don't

  62. look like this. There are some of them that have

  63. vibrant colors, but tonight we'd like to preach for a

  64. little while on snake handlers. I know that's kind of

  65. a comical, maybe for some people it's a little bit

  66. comical for you about snake handlers because we're used to

  67. hearing the term snake handlers to those twisted individuals out

  68. there in those other states that believe it is of

  69. God to pick up serpents and And that's not what

  70. we're going to be preaching about. I'm not going to

  71. preach their message. I'm not going to preach their doctrine.

  72. That's not my burden. My burden is this. This here

  73. can be a snake. And for a little while, like

  74. I said, I like to preach on snake handlers. But

  75. Paul here is traveling. And they're on this ship. And

  76. they're traveling to head.

  77. On their journey.

  78. And he warns these people about a storm that is coming. Nevertheless,

  79. they ignored his warning and they experienced and encountered the

  80. very storm he warned them about. And they find themselves shipwrecked.

  81. They find themselves lost there and abandoned. And the soldiers' counsel,

  82. should anything happen from the Satyrian, was to immediately execute

  83. any of the prisoners.

  84. That way they couldn't get away. But Paul found favor.

  85. I believe Paul maybe had spent a lot of time

  86. talking to this man. And this man realized, hey, this

  87. man is innocent.

  88. He is a preacher. He hasn't done anything wrong.

  89. But because of Paul's favor with the centurion, the centurion

  90. ordered that they should let him live. And anyone that

  91. could swim, go ahead and be cast out and swim.

  92. And those that couldn't to lay hold of things that

  93. could support them and get them across the sea. And

  94. it says when they made it to land that the

  95. barbarous people showed them no little kindness. They saw a

  96. need and they said, hey, let's help out. I'm sure

  97. there were some strange looking men on this boat. I'm

  98. sure there were some rough looking characters on this boat.

  99. You know, because they were nothing but prisoners. There was

  100. murderers probably on this ship. And nevertheless, these barbarians and

  101. these barbarous people, they said, hey, these men, it's cold,

  102. it's raining. They're going to be hypothermic. We need to

  103. get something. We need to build a fire. We got

  104. to do something in order to sustain life. And what

  105. I love about Paul is he's a preacher of the gospel.

  106. He says, hey, I'm not going to sit here and

  107. take a handout without doing some work myself. He said, hey,

  108. I'm a preacher. I've got to do some work myself.

  109. There's so many other men in this world and other

  110. preachers that would just say, hey, it's all about me.

  111. I'm a prisoner. Just soak it on up to me.

  112. And they won't put forth any effort. I believe a

  113. preacher should be willing and ready to work at any moment,

  114. no matter your situation.

  115. You should be ready to give.

  116. And Paul, in his haste, in his willingness to hurry

  117. to build fire and to add and to do something.

  118. He's just picking up sticks.

  119. He's just grabbing them probably as fast as he can

  120. because it's raining and it's cold.

  121. Perhaps it's non-sheltered, the fire is.

  122. And in his haste, he grabs something and he throws

  123. it in the fire. And whenever he throws it in

  124. the fire, a viper comes out and bites him. And

  125. that's where we get to where we're going to preach

  126. tonight on snake handlers. Like I said, I'm not going

  127. to be preaching those people's doctrine. But every young person

  128. in here, real quick, before we go any further, that

  129. has a cell phone, raise your hand. Every one of us,

  130. I believe, besides some ages, probably eight and down, or

  131. probably about the ages that have phones, these things can

  132. be deadly if not handled correctly daily. This thing has

  133. the ability. In order to become a snake in half

  134. a second.

  135. This thing has the.

  136. Ability to unleash venom in half a second.

  137. Even though you may say like Paul it was not

  138. on purpose. I was in haste and I was in

  139. the moment. and I just grab it.

  140. Nevertheless, you have been struck by deadly poison. Paul only

  141. survived by the grace of God. You may not die physically,

  142. but one snake bite and one strike from this thing,

  143. when you don't use it properly, you don't respect it properly,

  144. could be the very venom that takes your soul spiritually.

  145. That's why I warn you tonight, when you try to.

  146. Warm yourself by the fire, Of this world.

  147. Watch out what you grab. Watch out for the serpent.

  148. That is hiding.

  149. Within this phone.

  150. Hallelujah. Like Paul.

  151. We pick it up daily. We place it in our pocket.

  152. We go about our day. We hold it to our face.

  153. We communicate with it. We look at it. I looked

  154. it up. Our age group from 18 to 24, those

  155. are the ones that are most active on their phones.

  156. It said on an average, the 18-year-old through the 24-year-old

  157. spends up to nine hours a day on their phone.

  158. That is a long time. If you think about it,

  159. young men, those that work a job here, you work

  160. eight hours a day. So somehow in this world, the

  161. devil presents an opportunity for these people to spend nine

  162. hours a day on their phones. That is ample time

  163. and ample opportunity for us.

  164. To surface.

  165. You might say, I'm just gonna look at this one

  166. little thing real quick. And next thing you know, you've

  167. been on there for hours. It is a deadly trap.

  168. It is a serpent lighting in wait.

  169. And you realize, I got on here at 5 o'clock.

  170. It's 9 o'clock now.

  171. What have I done? There is no way. Oh, God's

  172. green earth.

  173. That a snake didn't present itself. In that time span.

  174. And you didn't find yourself. Struck by the snake.

  175. And the serpent. Yeah it was in good conscience.

  176. Yeah you had your heart. Maybe you said I'm going

  177. to kill a little time. But nevertheless you were struck.

  178. I pray for a praying church today. We live in

  179. a very.

  180. Tech.

  181. World nowadays. COVID helped make some things easier. Not only

  182. for the business side of things. But for the devil.

  183. He made things easier. Have to have access easier. I've

  184. watched now. I've been on this world. On this earth

  185. for 25 years. And I've heard Pastor Nim tell about how.

  186. How far things have come. I remember when my dad

  187. got his first blackberry. That was the coolest thing in

  188. the world, we thought. You know, I can see it now.

  189. I mean, it was only about that big, about that wide.

  190. But we've come a long ways from that now. We've

  191. shifted a lot further from that now. You now have access.

  192. I looked it up.

  193. They said to games and any type of social media app,

  194. they said there is easily hundreds of thousands of things

  195. that you can.

  196. Download on your phone.

  197. And I can promise you every one of those things

  198. is not godly. Every one of those things were made

  199. with an intent from the devil. It was made as

  200. a distraction. It was made as a lure to cause

  201. you to go into things further death than you should.

  202. I don't know of any godly fearing man that has

  203. created an app for the sole purpose. Now, there's probably

  204. somebody out there for the sole purpose and the benefit

  205. of the Christian.

  206. The holiness Christian.

  207. Every one of these people that create these demonic apps

  208. are demonically inspired. There is messages inside them saying, I

  209. remember as a young child, this will probably flash back

  210. a lot of memories for someone, a particular game that

  211. pastor preached about extremely hard. And it was going all

  212. across the whole in this movement. It was called Temple Run.

  213. Who remembers that demonic game? And there was young people

  214. in our church that was obsessed with it. And pastor

  215. got stirred up one night and he looked it up

  216. and he began to.

  217. Look into it. What is this obsession with this game?

  218. Hours and hours and hours of it. Well, it was simply,

  219. you know that game Subway Surfer, right? It's a cheesy

  220. little game. But instead, yes, you were running a man.

  221. It said you were running from demons. There was demons

  222. chasing you from this demonic cave. You can't tell me

  223. that app that you have on your phone that you

  224. have hidden somewhere in your cell phone isn't a serpent

  225. in disguise that is hoping to take your life and

  226. is hoping to wreak havoc on your soul. The devil

  227. has made it a lot more easier to sin discreetly

  228. There is no longer a need, Brother Jesse, to go

  229. to a red box and rent a movie where you

  230. run the risk of being caught by your pastor. It

  231. can all be accessed right here in the silence of

  232. your bedroom, in the silence of your home, at time

  233. on the break room at work. It can be accessed.

  234. It's the viper of the very devil of hell. Lest

  235. you think I'm preaching only to you. Tonight I've done

  236. my own cell phone check. And I said, Lord, if

  237. there is anything on this phone, that is a viper

  238. to my soul spiritually. That is a snake instead of

  239. a stick. I don't want any snakes in my soul.

  240. I want fuel for the fire of God Almighty. It

  241. would bid every one of us good if we would

  242. go through our phones tonight and see, Lord, is this

  243. a stick in my heart or is this a serpent

  244. in my soul?

  245. I remember watching.

  246. People, because I don't think it's still there. I haven't

  247. heard of these anymore. Going back to that red box.

  248. We never rented one. I can promise you that. The

  249. Howells never did. Never made it to that hell box.

  250. But I remember by chance or something for some reason.

  251. We went through the parking lot of this Winn-Dixie. Here

  252. in LaBelle. And there stood one of pastor's members. Had

  253. their back to him. Didn't realize. And they were picking

  254. up a movie. That devil's got you sick. He's got

  255. you sickly tricked. He's got you duped and deceived. You

  256. sit in that corner in that bed. Like I said,

  257. I'm preaching to myself. You sit in that corner, lay down,

  258. and you don't even realize laying on your chest is

  259. the very viper.

  260. Of this world. Just wait to wreak havoc on your soul.

  261. He's caught up real nice and distinctly on you because

  262. you got cold and weary. And he's warming himself by

  263. your heat. And the moment you realize and you react,

  264. he will strike.

  265. Oh, hallelujah. Help me, Holy Ghost. I need to hurry.

  266. I remember when I first got my phone.

  267. At the age of 14, at the age of 14,

  268. I remember this very well, and I'm sure the other

  269. Howell kids would remember this. Dad and Mom not only

  270. would have a curfew when we had to be off

  271. the phone, there was times when, well, a lot of times,

  272. they would take the phones with them.

  273. I was 14 years old.

  274. I had access to way too much. Trust me, my

  275. pastor took precautions. But dad and mom knew the deadly

  276. weapon and the trap that this could be. And every

  277. young child right now is hoping to God that their

  278. parent don't get any ideas tonight.

  279. Parents, what happened to say, hey, turn that phone into me?

  280. Young child, I can promise you it benefits you.

  281. When you get older.

  282. You would realize just how much it was to your safety.

  283. I plan to do the same thing with my children.

  284. I don't want to let them be bit by the serpent.

  285. I get sick and disgusted when I see these parents

  286. hand an eight-year-old.

  287. Child a phone that is a.

  288. Serpent of the devil. You're going to expose them to things.

  289. And trust me, I've done my fair share of asking, Dad,

  290. can I have a phone? Dad, can I have a phone?

  291. There was times he'd come out straight up right and

  292. say no. But a lot of times he just ignored me.

  293. That nagging little kid. Whenever it comes out that they've

  294. looked and partook of something.

  295. At a young age.

  296. You're going to say, oh, God, why did.

  297. I hand him that bopper? Oh, God, why did.

  298. I give him that serpent? Oh, that I could go

  299. back and do it again. And I know this is

  300. a youth service, and I'm preaching to y'all too. But

  301. I ask these parents to consider the fact that you

  302. are the one that presents it to them. You are

  303. the one that says this is when you'll get it.

  304. This is what you'll do on it. God of heaven,

  305. what happened to protecting your child?

  306. Hallelujah. Let's name some of these snakes. We already mentioned

  307. a couple of them.

  308. Some of these snakes that are accessible with about a

  309. download wait time of 30 seconds.

  310. And a delete just as fast.

  311. And these new phones, you can delete it, then re-download

  312. it and still have everything you ever found on it.

  313. It's keeping track. Delete it before mom and dad wakes

  314. it up. Dad and mom disappear, reinstall. YouTube is the

  315. worst one out of all of them. And I'm preaching

  316. to myself. I hope to God none of us have

  317. this one, TikTok. All I ever hear about at church,

  318. or at work, sorry, rather, from all my demonically oppressed coworkers.

  319. Demonically oppressed, I said. They are troubled individuals. For hours

  320. they do something called doom scroll. From one video after another.

  321. From one content after another. My God, that is a

  322. trick of the devil. The very title of the dumb

  323. thing is TikTok.

  324. Do you not understand?

  325. I'm saying time by, time by. Let me distract you.

  326. Let me distract you a little further. Let me poison you.

  327. Let me bite you.

  328. One more time. That thing is demonic, oppressing, and assuredly possessing.

  329. Pastors preach this one out of our church, and I

  330. again hope nobody's got this one.

  331. Snapchat.

  332. I remember probably for the month that I had it.

  333. You weren't only texting your friends. There was these little

  334. secular stories that would come across there that you could watch,

  335. that you could flip through. And you say it's just

  336. a chat with my friends. I ain't looking at nothing.

  337. What are you talking about?

  338. Hallelujah.

  339. Bad contacts. A contact between me and Brother Nathaniel, is

  340. that bad? No. I text my brothers. I love my

  341. brothers dearly. But that co-worker that insistently assists on texting

  342. you daily, you ain't got to entertain that snake.

  343. They know you have good morals.

  344. The very plan, the very plan of the devil is

  345. to destroy you and to bite you and to make

  346. you slip up and cuss. That's the very plan of

  347. the enemy. You do not have to respond to that field.

  348. You do not have to contact them. I don't care

  349. if it's about work related. That can wait to work.

  350. Because a lot of times it will start off with

  351. a question about work. And then they want to chat

  352. about everybody else at work. That's a trap. Because the

  353. very plan of them is to get you fired. Because

  354. they want to be able to go to the other

  355. person and say, hey, they were talking about you. Look

  356. what they said about the boss.

  357. God.

  358. I don't know that we have this. But any fake

  359. contacts marked as uncle so and so. But it's actually

  360. a boy named Schuyler. I'm just throwing a name out there.

  361. Uncle Mark, but you're texting Schuyler. If there's any sneaking around,

  362. dad and mom won't think. They'll see that and skip

  363. right over that. There was a 16-year-old girl talking to

  364. a 58-year-old man. I think it would behoove us to

  365. go through some phones tonight.

  366. And sit some little children.

  367. Down and say, is this a stick or is this

  368. a snake?

  369. Tell me about it. Is it a viper? Wait to

  370. shock you and release this venom.

  371. Amen.

  372. Movies.

  373. There is no Christian movie. Because what happens. You watch

  374. a Christian one. Then you watch one. Where this person

  375. is trying to get saved. I'm just creating my own

  376. little story here. And then the next thing you know.

  377. You're watching Marvel movies, which I have never watched. But

  378. the very trick of the devil is to get you

  379. interested with what you believe first and then to dupe

  380. you and slowly but surely warp your mind in some disgusting.

  381. Foul way that it goes along with the same thing.

  382. It's simply a ploy of the devil.

  383. Have I named any snakes that you've gotten bit by yet?

  384. How about this one? Secret social media accounts. So that

  385. you can keep up with that ex. God forbid if

  386. any married men are doing that. Don't want your family

  387. to know, hey, I'm going to reach out to her again.

  388. I'm going to try her one more time. I know

  389. she was terrible for me. I know she was a

  390. bad influence for me. But I wonder what she's up

  391. to right now. I wonder who she's talking to right now.

  392. That is a trick of the devil. That is a

  393. viper of this world. That is tricking you and deceiving you.

  394. And you don't even realize that you're being bit by

  395. the very serpent. And before you know it, you feel

  396. the sting of the bite. It's too late now. Because

  397. you nonchalantly....

  398. Picked it up.

  399. I'll look at it one more time. I won't stay

  400. up there as long. I've done better, Lord. I won't

  401. look at it as long. I've been there too. Set

  402. yourself a time limit. Right?

  403. One more minute. One more minute. One more minute. Three

  404. hours later.

  405. You're still saying one more minute when you don't realize

  406. that the snake is.

  407. Saying a little more venom. A little more venom. I

  408. got him a little bit more sick. I got him

  409. a little bit more drowsy. I got him a little

  410. bit more confused.

  411. And then our pastor stands up here in the service

  412. and saying.

  413. Hey, wake up.

  414. That's a snake that you got to hold on. That's

  415. a snake that you're holding.

  416. Wake up. That's a snake. And you say, I wonder

  417. why I can't seem to get any better.

  418. It's because it's the snake bite of sin.

  419. Oh my. You say, how can evil, how can context

  420. be bad? Be a snake.

  421. Evil communications corrupt good manners. You hung around them workers

  422. that have no respect, and then suddenly you are somebody.

  423. That worker gets in your face, you get right back

  424. in his face. Christians don't do that. Bible said we

  425. turn the other cheek. Sure, we don't be pushed around.

  426. We don't take a cussing, but you ain't got a

  427. screaming holler in his face.

  428. That's a good way to find yourself knocked out on

  429. the ground.

  430. I had a man cuss me at work one time,

  431. and I simply said, don't you cuss me like that again.

  432. That's all it took. And you know what he said?

  433. He said, I'm sorry, dude.

  434. And now every time he slips up and he cusses,

  435. he covers his mouth and says, I'm sorry.

  436. I didn't mean to do that.

  437. That's what a Christian does. A Christian just simply says, hey,

  438. don't do that to me. And it's not, I'm going

  439. to blow up in your face, and I'm going to

  440. tell you what. I'm as big as you are.

  441. When in reality, they are people of this world. They

  442. won't think nothing of beating.

  443. Your heart into the ground. Matter of fact, they'll get

  444. pleasure out of humbling a little twerp. They'll go around

  445. and say, hey, I beat his tail into the ground.

  446. You know what the boss is going to say?

  447. Thank you. You took care of something I was needing

  448. to take care of. Hallelujah. Let's keep going.

  449. Is it that in one of those apps that you

  450. keep going back to, you can't spiritually see this?

  451. Hallelujah.

  452. Thank the Lord. Snakes love to eat rats. I've been

  453. wondering why that was sitting up there for so many services.

  454. You're dangling.

  455. You're antagonizing a strike. You're like one of them cobra charmers.

  456. Playing my little flute. Whoop, too slow. My God, you're

  457. going to get struck. Brother Jesse, I looked it up.

  458. A cobra can spray its venom up to 10 feet.

  459. With perfect accuracy.

  460. And it says it aims for the eyes.

  461. The eyes are your eye gate.

  462. My God of heaven, you're provoking a strike and you'll

  463. find yourself dead.

  464. You dangle that rat. One more time. My God, you

  465. might not get away. Holy Ghost have your way. Snakes

  466. don't ever blink. Never blink. Never blink.

  467. They can strike faster than you can blink. Their eyes

  468. are always on the target. The devil's eyes, young people,

  469. are always on us. He never blinks. He knows exactly

  470. what it is that your heart desires when it's not

  471. right with God, when you're a little cold. He knows

  472. exactly what to pop in your face because he's been

  473. watching you the whole time.

  474. He's been licking the air.

  475. He's been tasting and saying, hey, what.

  476. Is it they're hungry for? Oh, hallelujah.

  477. Eve got in trouble because she listened and grabbed From

  478. the tree. Brother Jesse, she didn't get bit by the snake.

  479. The fangs were in the fruit. The fangs was in

  480. what she partook of. You might say it's just a

  481. little peak. I don't see no snake in this. And

  482. it might not be, but my.

  483. God, when you take a bite, your eyes will be opened,

  484. all right? On the things of this world.

  485. If regretted were taken, every time you grab a new wheat,

  486. right afterwards, you know you regret it.

  487. But nevertheless, It has unleashed its venom.

  488. And there's nothing you can do about it. It was

  489. a touch and taste. It was a touch and taste

  490. that got her. I think just recently, if I'm not mistaken,

  491. one of the services, a pastor was preaching about alcoholism.

  492. That could be a taste or a touch. That can

  493. be a little taste. I will set no wicked thing

  494. before mine eyes. The devil has made that harder to

  495. do in this generation because wickedness and evil is everywhere.

  496. And I'm not saying all these Christians go around and

  497. beholding wickedness.

  498. That is not of God.

  499. I'm saying that if we didn't have Holy Ghost blinders on,

  500. that we would behold evil and wickedness everywhere. How do

  501. we put those blinders up? By prayer. By reading our

  502. Bible and saying, oh God, before I leave for work, God,

  503. protect me today. God, don't let me fall. God, I

  504. don't want to be bit by a serpent tonight. God,

  505. I don't want to partake of anything.

  506. That is unholy.

  507. The devil has a snake and a trap everywhere. Because

  508. he realized that his time for breaking people down is

  509. running out.

  510. When you're gathering wood.

  511. In your cold season, spiritual season, young person, there really

  512. shouldn't be any young person struggling in this church. Let

  513. me just say that. Struggling is by choice. And by

  514. lack of praying and reading your Bible. But whenever you

  515. find yourself in a cold state, young person. And you're

  516. searching for something or somebody to build a fire with.

  517. To put on your fire. To rekindle an old flame.

  518. Whatever it is.

  519. You better check that pile of sticks.

  520. Because they're just chirping. laying among it.

  521. That which you hold in your hand, that thing you

  522. think to be harmless is actually deadly. A stick is straight, right?

  523. Sometimes they're a little crooked, a little jagged. I have,

  524. this is just my belief, not only was it cold

  525. and it was raining, I feel like it was also

  526. pitch black because snakes, You can see them pretty well.

  527. There's some of them that they're the master of disguise.

  528. Don't get me wrong. But Paul no doubt would not

  529. have purposely grabbed a snake with the intent of throwing

  530. it in the fire. I don't see him saying there's

  531. a snake. Let me pick this up. I believe it

  532. was 100% by accident. But however, the barbarous people They

  533. knew to check the sticks. Paul was just trying to

  534. be a helping hand. He was trying to help somebody out,

  535. and he got bit. If you are not saved, sanctified,

  536. and Holy Ghost filled, don't you dare go to an

  537. infested pile of wood and say, I'm going to help

  538. this person out. I'm going to be a help to them.

  539. Paul had good intentions. But within his good intentions, he

  540. got shook. You can have good intentions and say.

  541. I'm going to go back. I'm going to help. Let

  542. me move on.

  543. I've got what I need. I can do what I

  544. need to do now. No, you'll get bit. You'll get bit.

  545. You now have poison. Well, these snakes have poison. Just

  546. build up. In the wintertime, they're less active in the cold.

  547. They seek places of warmth. And usually that's piles of

  548. stuff and that's heavy thickets. So they have all this

  549. ventum build up. And they're just waiting for an opportunity

  550. to get warmed up. release it you're desperate for warmth

  551. and you grab this phone thinking you'll find your warmth

  552. here you won't find warmth you'll find a viper I

  553. want to ask you tonight is it a stick or

  554. is it a snake that app on your phone is

  555. it wood for the fire or is it a snake.

  556. Is it fuel for your.

  557. Fire as you seek for the Holy Ghost? Or do

  558. you keep getting bit? Do you find yourself keep getting sick?

  559. Right when you say, whoo, hallelujah, Lord, I got a

  560. good dose of it. You know, I grew up hearing

  561. those that had the Holy Ghost tell us, those that

  562. were seeking, say, hey. it's going to take what it

  563. took to get, it's going to take to keep it.

  564. I can now say that is 100% true. You don't say,

  565. all right, once I got the Holy Ghost, I'm set

  566. for life. That's the Baptist belief. Once you're saved, you're

  567. always saved. Once filled with the Holy Ghost, you are

  568. not always filled with the Holy Ghost, young people.

  569. Hallelujah. Let me hurry up. I remember this. I don't

  570. know if Brother Phillip remembers this.

  571. As a young child, back before we moved down here,

  572. me and one of our cousins, me and one of

  573. our cousins, was playing. We had, I think, like two

  574. or three acres up front, eight acres in the back,

  575. something like that. And I can still remember this perfectly,

  576. where we were at, what position of the property we

  577. were in. It was three of us, and we probably wasn't,

  578. but yay, hi.

  579. You know, our life was different.

  580. Our parents had a lot more confidence, I guess you

  581. could say, and not kids being kidnapped.

  582. You know, we had a lot more liberty.

  583. So we were just running around, but we saw a

  584. snake coming. And I believe it was Brother Phillip, I

  585. don't know if you remember this story, but I remember

  586. this very well. He thought it was a fake snake.

  587. So he said, hey, look, there's a fake snake. And

  588. it was a corn snake. Y'all ever seen them old

  589. wooden snakes that are, I think they used to sell

  590. them at Cracker Barrel. It's made out of solid wood. Well,

  591. that's what we assumed it was. So Brother Phillip reached

  592. down to grab it, and right when he went to

  593. touch it, that thing took off.

  594. And what I'm.

  595. Trying to get at is he was well within striking

  596. distance of that serpent.

  597. I looked it up.

  598. A snake can strike up to half of its body

  599. length at its target. You think you're at a safe

  600. distance from the strike. You think you're playing with it

  601. for a little bit and you're well enough back, but

  602. you were closer than you think. The devil has you deceived.

  603. Them snakes will curl up in a tiny little ball

  604. in half a second. They're full length right in front

  605. of your face. There has been many people that have

  606. been struck because they thought they were at a safe distance.

  607. I looked it up.

  608. They said, anywhere between 81,000 and 138 people die globally

  609. a year from snake bites.

  610. That is a lot of people.

  611. They said 5.4 million people are bitten a year globally

  612. by snakes. And you want to tell me that you

  613. can spend nine hours on this phone And not be

  614. bit by the viper hiding curled up inside of it.

  615. When there's people dying yearly from a snake bite.

  616. Hallelujah.

  617. I'm almost done here. I'm going to share this last

  618. little story here. It was shared with me. It's a

  619. great story. Nevertheless, there's this little Indian kid. And I

  620. believe Brother Houston told this story years ago. There's this

  621. little Indian kid where I believe his father took him

  622. up to the mountain.

  623. And left him up there to.

  624. Become a man, if you will, and to complete his challenges,

  625. maybe teach him how to hunt and kill and survive

  626. by himself. Well, it was cold, and on his way back,

  627. he came across a snake, I think maybe a rattlesnake

  628. or something like that.

  629. And he picked it up. Well, he went to the snake.

  630. And the snake said, hey, pick me up. I'm cold.

  631. And the little boy said.

  632. No, you're a snake. I don't want to touch you.

  633. And the snake said, well, if you leave me here,

  634. I'm going to die.

  635. Pick me up.

  636. So the little boy finally, he picked it up and

  637. put it in his little buckskin pouch. And he took

  638. down the mountain. Well, he got to the bottom of

  639. the mountain. And he took the snake out. And the

  640. snake had revived and had warmed. And when he went

  641. to set it down, the snake bit him. And the

  642. little boy said, hey, why'd you do that? And as

  643. the little boy lay there dying, the snake said, you

  644. knew I was a snake. You shouldn't have picked me up.

  645. And that's what I'm telling us, young people. You know

  646. what is a snake on here. And you know not

  647. to pick it up. Don't blame the snake for biting you.

  648. Blame the snake for getting in his area and getting

  649. in his personal space. Most of the time, snakes, they

  650. run from you. They get away from you. But you

  651. have provoked him. You have gotten down in front of him.

  652. You have antagonized the strike.

  653. Hallelujah.

  654. You lay down beside the snake. And you say it's

  655. an accident. Paul's was an accident. Paul's snake bite was

  656. an accident. That app on your phone, if it isn't golly,

  657. if it isn't pure, it isn't holy, then it's the snake.

  658. Let's all stand. Dad, mom, young person, young child. Paul

  659. shook the snake off in the fire afterwards. He put

  660. it in the fire, the snake came out. He shook

  661. it off in the fire again. You have to destroy

  662. what's in your life. Them snake catchers, a lot of

  663. times they put them in a special box that is

  664. full of holes and ventilation so the snake can be relocated. Dad, mom,

  665. young person, young child, snakes on here are not to

  666. be relocated.

  667. They are to be destroyed. They are to be annihilated. Right?

  668. Let's say this. You die.

  669. You die. And you have snakes hidden on your phone.

  670. It's in a box. What do people do when dead

  671. people die? They go through their stuff. They say, I

  672. wonder what they left. And it's with good intentions. They

  673. want to reminisce. They want to look at old things.

  674. But that young child cracks the lid on the box

  675. to what he thinks being pictures of holy things. Or

  676. reminiscing of fond memories they had as child. And a

  677. viper jumps out and bites it in the face. But

  678. they're not so lucky. They die. They get bit.

  679. They suffer.

  680. To this day our pastor has buried some things. And

  681. no one of us know where it's at. But that

  682. was his way of destroying it. He said he'll go

  683. to his.

  684. Grave, and I know he will. And I can promise you,

  685. we ain't going to go digging it up.

  686. But mom and dad, young person, don't relocate that snake.

  687. Destroy it.

  688. They get mad from being locked up for so long

  689. in tight places. And your sweet little child will take

  690. a strike right to the face. Because you chose to

  691. store it and relocate it. Brother Jesse, come. It will

  692. completely unleash a full envenomation. A lot of times snakes,

  693. they only do a little bit of what they have.

  694. But it could be that young person, the next time

  695. you pick this up, thinking it's holy. The next time

  696. you dangle the rat, thinking I'm going to see if

  697. he gets me this time. What the devil has been

  698. doing is slowly but surely injecting venom. The next time

  699. he will unleash the full and complete load.

  700. And without, I just forgot the word.

  701. What's that word that they use to give people that's

  702. been bit by antivenom? Without antivenom from the Holy Scriptures

  703. and a well-equipped doctor gifted by God to provide, you

  704. will not survive. What if next time you get bit, no.

  705. One is around?

  706. And God says, that's enough venom to take them. The

  707. next time you pick that app up, the next time

  708. you re-download it, and say, I'm only going to look

  709. at it for a little while. I'll only check up

  710. on this person. I've... understood how to handle it now

  711. let me tell you something about them snake charmers them

  712. snake charmers put on a show don't they of bravery

  713. I researched that they said a lot of times they

  714. Sometimes them snake charmers have removed the fangs, first of all. So, wow,

  715. it's not some great trick now. And it says some

  716. of them even sew the mouth shut. The devil, I

  717. can promise you, his mouth is not sewed shut. You

  718. sit there and play your little flute, playing the devil's tune.

  719. Charming him.

  720. And you don't even realize he has been waiting for

  721. the moment to finally deliver that deadly blow. They said

  722. snakes in the wilds will hide themselves and twitch the

  723. last little part of their tail to lure their prey

  724. in closer. Such as birds, mice, to come feed on

  725. that little worm that has That is in distress. The

  726. devil does the same thing for you. You find yourself

  727. in a hard place and he's sitting there luring. He's

  728. twitching that tail as fast as he can because he

  729. don't want to lose your focus. And it can be

  730. a twitch on the phone. My God, is there any

  731. young people that would like to come pray today?

  732. I'm done. I feel like the Lord has helped us

  733. here today.

  734. Let's all come and pray and ask God to And

  735. I beg every young person tonight, before you go to

  736. bed tonight, check that phone, search it for serpents, and

  737. make sure that that stick is actually a stick.

  738. And not a snake. I love you, young people.
