Heaven Rules - Worship | Joy Teh

will light up your day. Last month, when I was here, I

spoke about worship, all right. I spoke about worship in line with the

theme that we have for this year, Heaven rules. So I brought us

true even Daniel chapter four, if we can remember now, if we were

here last month, I spoke about Daniel chapter four, and how King,

how our God reveal himself even to King Nabuknazer, even in a dream,

and he was warning him to repent and to change his ways, right and

in a dream, and how the dream was interpreted by Daniel, right,

and then Daniel went to the king, and Daniel explained the dream. And

a year later we saw the dream come to pass. Okay. So before

I move on today today, I will continue apart two of what I spoke

about the last round. I was here here up the States, here on

world ship, okay, but to do a recap and to bring us back

to where we started, all right. So this year. The theme for

this year, as we all know, it's taken from Daniel chapter four,

verse twenty six. Okay, So I shall read this verse as a background

and as the introduction, so it says, but the stum and roots of

the tree were left in the ground. This is Daniel four to six.

Saw me Daniel four, verse twenty six. This means that you will receive

your kingdom back again when you have learned that having rules. So this is

what the Lord was speaking to King Nebukanezer. So if we read Daniel four,

we will read that how the Lord God has worn King Nabukanezer of different

things, and how he's supposed to repent, to change his ways, to

humble himself. So when we and when I brought us to verse nineteen onwards,

the last one I was speaking, Okay, it was all the point

when Daniel was interpreting the dream to keep King Nebucanazer right now. So when

we when we look at Daniel chapter four, we read that when we know

the story of how the warning came to the king to say that if you

don't you will be There was this dream about the tree and the tree was

being chopped off, right, okay, and then there's a stump that was

left. So God was revealing to the king that he is going to be

like a tree that for seven years, the king will be driven from human

society and he will live in the fields with the wild animals. He'll be

eating grass like a cow and all okay. Because the Lord wanted King Nebucanazer

to learn that the Most High rules, okay, So I spoke about that,

and in chapter four itself, from verse nineteen to thirty seven, I've

highlighted to all of us how many times God mentioned the most High rules,

even in that particular chapter. So when we are looking at the team for

this Heaven rules, what does it mean to all of us? Right?

So I alluded to the Heaven rules just means the most High rules. So

if we look, I have a slight for this that I showed the last

ash the last time. Okay. It says here in verses twenty five thirty

two, and also later on in chapter five that the Most High rules over

the kingdoms of the world and gives them to anyone he chooses. Okay,

okay. So until King Nebuknazer learned that the Most High rules, he will

have to experience some form of insanity, okay. So he basically lost his

mind and became like an animal, all right, Okay. So Daniel,

when he interpreted the dream to King Nebukanezer. He actually advised the king in

verse twenty seven. In chapter four, he says, King Nebukanezer, accept

my advice. Stop singing, remember, remember and do what is right.

Break from your wicked pass. Okay. So that was the last one,

I suppose. Now, So after that, So after this warning that came

in a form of a dream, and the interpretation of the dream, God

gave King a Bukanier. We all know, right, a chance. How

long was the chance? One year? So only a year later that he

came to pass. King Na Bukaniser was standing on his roof and he would

looking at his kingdom. And again he said, in my mind, with

my own hands, I built this kingdom. And when the worst was still

in his mouth, remember the world of God. Say. Even as he

was speaking, the dream came to pass, okay, and God pronounced some

judgment over him, and he became insane. He lived like an animal,

and he was driven away from society for seven years, seven periods of time,

seven years until again is repeated. Now he learns that the most High

rules over the kingdoms of the world. Okay. So in verse thirty four

and verse thirty seven. After the seven years, what happened to King Na

Bukaniser? He regained his sanity, and inverse city four he says, I

never knazer looked up to heaven. My sanity returned, and I praised and

I worship the Most High God, right right? Yeah? I praised and

worship the Most High and honored the one who lives forever. His rule is

ever lasting and his kingdom is eternal. He repeated that again in verse thirty

seven. So this is where we have the team for this year. So

coming from here, my question to all of us, if the Most Higher

God rules, are we truly worshiping the Most High God? All right?

And are we truly worshiping the King of Heaven? So I touched on worship.

How is our worship like today? Are we really worshiping the Lord the

way he wants us to worship him? And I touched on two points last

time when I spoke. So this is just a week cat. Worship is

surrender if you can remember, and worship is small the last time I spoke.

Now, so just quickly a recap in case some of us we cannot

remember, because sometimes I don't remember, right, We all must remember,

a teachers, student, you always do recap first one before the new lesson.

Ah. Okay, so this is recap Okay, Sasha a prises so

one who can't remember right now? Okay, So worship is surrender now.

And when we're talking about worship is surrender, what did we look at?

We look at the Book of Joshua, chapter five and six, and I

read that verse again this morning. Is I felt led to read the verse

again. Now we read that, we quickly look to certain verses in Joshua

five and six the last time, and we saw how Joshua surrendered to the

lord even before his enemy is surrendered to him, meaning doing that time when

Joshua was supposed to conquer Jericho, Moses has passed away. And now Joshua

is the new leader of the people of Asia, and the and the mended

to him is conquered Jericho. That was the first city. Okay. So

he was a warrior and faced with this child to lead the people of Isel,

like the commander of the army of Isel, he well, we are

natural thing to do fight lad meaning prepare for battle, Laca. Right now,

I need to lead the people of Israel. Okay, to conquer Jericho.

So doing that time, right before he even started any war or anything,

right, in order to conquer Jericho. We can see that how the

Lord appeared to him. Okay, the Lord appeared to him in the form

of a man in the big capital m At that time, Joshua didn't know

that that was God, right, okay, and this man approached him,

and Joshua naturally last one I was saying, as a warrior and as the

commander of the army, what would be his response? Straight away? Bring

the soul up? Are you for us or against us? Isn't it right?

Most daddies here would do that if you see some funny guy coming with

you against you and your family is normal, right, Sorry, what are

you doing? Okay? So it's something like that. He's like, what

are you doing? Are you for us or are you against it? The

God that is men that he knew neither and is your like that? Neither?

Did? He looked like okay, the night or solf. So and

what did that commander of the lords I mean said, so this man is

Jesus himself, all right? Who came to Joshua and say then, no,

I'm the commander of the army of the Lord. Where you're standing is

holy ground. That's when Joshua surrendered. He as the commander the warrior.

Before he became a warrior to fight against Jericho, he became a worshipper.

Okay, so we look at it last round. Okay, that it's not

so much on whether God is on outside. So that was the question Joshua

asked God, right, God, are you on outside? Nor are you

on outside? But God is telling him Joshua's not. That's not the point.

The point is I'm with you. Are you with me? That's what

the Lord is asking us today. God is here with us. Are we

with him today? Church? God is here, first one here before extreme

before actually we open up the place. God is here. But are you

here with Him today? And God can see each and every one of our

hearts today, and I pray that God and my like God, could God

speak to me first one before I can push anything? Right right now speak?

Use we will allow God to speak to our hearts. For so I'm

not speaking to you like as though I'm there, no no no same meaning.

God, You are here with us? Am I heal with you?

God? Amen? Amen? So worship the last one we saw. Worship

is surrender, and surrender is learning to pray God's will. And Joshua in

his normal way of going to battle is to fight. But what did the

people of God did to bring down the worlds of Jericho. They march quietly

and they shout. That's all they did. Okay, okay. So sometimes

in our victory over our enemies, it may not be the way that we

think it will be, but it's listening to God's voice and to do his

will. Amen. Amen. So worship is surrender now and the next point

that I did the last one was worship is small. So this is a

recap all right. So true worship can be as intimate and powerful on Sunday

like how we congregate together on a Sunday, and it can be as powerful

on your Monday to your Friday when you are alone. Meaning worship doesn't mean

we need to have a full band. Today. We have a full band,

praise the Lord. Yeah, so some Sundays we have sometimes this we

don't have. We are going to praise the Lord too. So so it's

not about the band, it's not about the lights, it's not about the

sound system. We all these are great and we give God our best,

remember David, in the days of all we have all the instruments as well,

and they really worship the Lord. Right, So it's all good,

and we yes, worship can be powerful. But worshiping wors true worship also

means it's when no one is watching, when no one is looking, when

you are all alone. And sometimes that I mentioned the last round, we

are too to discourage, to set too down to even pray or worship God

or praise God or worship God. And even that, when you have a

little cry to God in your room, in your toilet, in your bathroom.

You know, when you cry out to the Lord, the Lord hears

you, and that's the worship as well. Right, So we look at

when worship was first mentioned in the Bible. So worship was first mentioned in

Genesis at the twenty two right when Abraham was preparing to sacrifice his only son

Isaac. So that was the first mention of worship. So in this point

of worship is small, it shows us what's the real meaning of worship.

Worship. It's not your bum bum boom bom wrong. That's all good,

okay, But worship is in which we will go in later, is in

the sacrifice. It's in the obedience. Amen. Amen. So Abraham and

Sarah waited twenty five years for their son of Promise, and then about thirty

years they said, Isaac was maybe about thirty year lest later God sacrifice him.

That is the first mention of the word worship in the Bible. So,

as you can see, may not be sometimes the definition that we define

worship in what we see today. Right, So, true worship requires obedience,

discipline, self control, fear of God. It is where nobody is

looking in our most personal and private times. I talk about this, okay,

doing our well deserve breaks. I still talk about this the last time,

even doing your breaks, right, that is where true worship happens.

Now today I'm going to move on with two more points about worship. Okay.

Now, I also mentioned this the last round that I'm drawing all this

from Pastor Canner's book The Experience. All right, Okay, so I give

credit to him and a lot of the courts that we're going to see later.

It's by Pastor canner. Yeah, okay, So worship the first one

now today. The third point that I'm going to go to is worship require

sacrifice, and the last one would be worship slays giants. Yeah, okay,

So I know it's these are very basic things that we have all of

us. I've already learned before and probably heard it before. But I think

it's just so powerful. So when I was again reading and preparing, there

were so many you know what I mean, because the world of God has

first speak to our hearts, right, and I pray that the world of

God will speak to our hearts. Amen? Amen? Am I going to

fust look at me? No? Okay, So this is the question I

ask my students. Am I talking to us? Okay? So worship require

sacrifice? Now, worship has no power until there is sacrifice. Turn to

your neighbor and repeat that worship has no power until there is sacrifice. Now,

thanks to Jesus's redeeming work on the cross. Gun, now, when

we come and worship God today today, we don't need to bring our bull

gun. Right. We don't need to bring our animal to the tempo okay,

like to the to God's house. We don't need to come and then

we have any more sacrifice anymore because of what the Lord Jesus had done the

cross for us, Amat not yeah, so we don't have to luck a

bull wearing our nice jacket and our Sunday best. I cannot imagine if you've

got to do that to today. Okay, okay, So for last time,

Back in those days, when they want to bring an offering to the

Lord, they have to do that. Animal sacrifices are required for atonement or

sins. Right now, how even though the type of sacrifice now we bring

a sacrifice or praise to the Lord right those days they bring the animal sacrifice

is different now, but the significance of bringing a sacrifice to the Lord in

worship has not changed. Okay, okay, because this is the principles of

the Lord and the world the Lord has taught us now in back in those

days, not only they had to bring an animal sacrifice, and I taught

this before as well. Okay, they are to bring a perfect animal.

Do you know that? Perfect and unblemish. What's the meaning of perfect unblemish?

No imperfection? A meaning I cannot have one pimples or one spot,

one factor. That's what they say, cannot. How do you think they

will find out whether it's got blamation? But in those days, yes,

how do you look? You look on top that I can see not then

have to check la, than the animal upside down. I don't know la.

And then and then the animal can move for a note, make noise

or no, it may poop and pee on you. So no, I

don't know. Like, okay, those bets, so you understand why.

Sometimes you go and bring them showerer. Then they poop along the way another

town thing. Okay. So in the Vaticus, chapter twenty two, verse

twenty twenty three, quickly, whatever has a defect, you shall not offer,

for it shall not be acceptable on your behalf. And whoever offers a

sacrifice or peace offering to the Lord to fulfill his vow, or a free

will offering from the capital or the sheep, it must be perfect to be

accepted. There shall be no defect in it. Those that are blind or

broken, or maimed, or have an ouncer or examer or skepts shall not

be offered to the Lord normal, nor make an offering by fire of them

on the altar of the lot. So this is where you can find them.

So can we imagine looking for an unblemished lammits a flock of so many,

like a hundred of them? Correct, that is really hard work.

My point is it is hard work, okay, okay. So when the

people of all they want to go and worship, they put in a lot

of effort and lot of time. And I'm sure if today is the day

of sacrifice or worship, don't think they can in time to do it on

the day. So they probably have to start the checking of the animal long

time ago. They maybe a week ago, days ago, I'm not sure.

Okay. So so imagine now, do you think the Lord needs the

animal sacrifices. No, he eats the animal, okay, okay? What

he is? What what is God? After? God is after? Yes,

the heart of course, because after the preparation, the sweat, okay,

the time, the effort that goes into the sacrifice, so right,

and that is true worship. So the same prince applies today. So when

we say worship require sacrifice, preparation is as if not more important, then

the presentation as your posture or worship for your band, for our band this

morning, to pract to lead us into a time or worship the band has

to practice. The preparation starts now. Yes, they started this morning as

they came early, and all the sound check they want. But earlier on

in the week we have Pastor John selecting the songs. I believe it's still

like that. Go and then they discuss the keys and the chords, and

then they practice at home, and then they come back again and after that

they discuss again preparation. I'm sure all of us serving the lot today.

If you serve an espresso, you also prepare your food and all. So

to God, our preparation is always more important than our presentation. We all

know that, teach us. We all know that to just do one lesson

the preparation behind the scenes is a lot. Okay, one hour you have

then our separations and actors. We all know that in order to even the

video video if it imprompt one different I'm talking about like so you have to

show a play. Here the hours of preparation and rehearsing just to put out

a play. Runners they train for days and months just to run the marathon.

So did you know that as you make a decision today and today was

a rainy day, isn't it right? It's been very hot. But this

morning, yes, you're like, oh, phraise the Lord, it's not

so hard, right, but then it becomes nicer to sleep in now okay,

okay, So so assuming addition, today I'll get up early to go

to church. Whether or not it is raining or hard or whatever you are,

your worship has begun. Do you know that your worship has begun right

from your bedroom the moment you woke up. So now imagine it today it's

nice, sunny and a little rain is still okay, But imagine those days

back I don't know when it's really pouring and long, those days when we

had our am service, our bailingal service still here and some of us serve

two services. I still remember before it became a bailingal service. Now yeah,

and we come as early as six thirty we opened, and someone was

we brave to the heavy rain and to be here six thirty am, open

up for sound chinanaw. Do you know that the lords have seen your worship?

The worship has started even in your home as you drive here, as

you come and park and you come up, the Lord has seen your worship.

Amen. Amen, So the Lord saw you brave to the rain,

coming here early moms, the Lord saw you when you walk at you if

when you have to wake up at least two hours earlier to prep your whole

clan, your whole your whole clan to go to church. Now you used

to be when yeah, when my kids were younger. Definitely Now as the

girl older still got lad just that lesser. No, but young moms.

No, you have younger kids, babies and all. I used to hear

one mom say, oh, I can't serve anymore because if church started eight,

I got to be here by seven. If I'm serving, I got

to pick up by five because I need two hours to prep my three kids,

two kids and one husband. H So yeah, it's true. No,

I say one that that mother's or not. I say, okay,

so I understand, I understand, I understand, But that is the but

that when when when she serves, even in that capacity, the Lord sees

her worship. So the Lord sees your worship. I don't know which mom

here I'm speaking to No one knows. And to other people they can just

come, you know. But to you it's your sacrifice and God knows your

sacrifice that you have made that you have to everyone. Yeah, you have

to come back, and you have to have so many more hours just to

be here to serve. The Lord sees your sacrifice. Amen, and the

Lord so your heart when you prepare your heart this morning on the offering that

you want to give unto him, you prepare the day before you set apart.

Now, I know those days, no online transfer. It's different now

now, it's still different. Last time, it's really when we really peck

our cash in. I still do it today. I old school. It's

okay, I still want to do it because to me it is my worship.

Yeah, okay, but I'm not judging anybody. I'm just saying.

But now with the technology, with online transfer, right, I encourage you.

Please help people do it as worship unto the Lord. Don't I oh

today offering? Oh how much idea? Okay, I'll just expressed. I

don't know. I don't know whether you do that. I'm sure you don't

know. Your ex church, we don't do that one. Okay, but

yeah, yeah, so it's your worship unto the Lord. Even though it's

so easy now just press a few buttons, can prepare beforehand. The Lord

sees your worship. Okay, when you set aside that money. Now,

it's it's a lot. It's a bit of work to go to ATM just

to catch out the money, just to give offering. But to me,

I choose to do that now, okay, but somehow you don't worry.

Okay, whatever way the Lord has let you do it, but do it

unto the Lord. You are giving unto God. Right. So, and

one more thing I want to say, okay, don't don't angry me.

Okay. In ex church, we constantly also challenge our people to set aside

our Sundays for God. Amen. So that means we choose to be in

church instead of doing anything over the weekend. Okay. It can be over

time, working, over time in office, we can be attending weekend classes,

we can be doing different events on Sundays, because Sundays is our sabbath

unto the Lord, and we choose to set it aside for the Lord.

Amen. And even if we have to go on a holiday over a weekend

or Sunday, and sometimes we all do no choice? Right? We notice

this world no choice? Are you think cafully before you say okay, yeah,

it's true, say thankfully, since man is no choice. Okay,

we find a church in preparation before your holiday that even as I'm going on

a holiday, I'm going to find a church that I'm going to attend.

It's okay if you are not attending ex church that week because you're going to

London, you know, going to attend x London. Yes, if you

are somewhere got no ex church on never mind, No, you can still

find a church and attend a church there. But you need to do your

homework. And that preparation is your worship unto the Lord. And the Lord

sees that preparation. God is no man's dabtor, and he is a promise

keeping God. He says that when we sick, first the Kingdom of God,

and he is righteousness, all these things shall be added unto you,

not me. You hallelujah, thank you Jesus, Amen Amen. So throughout

the Bible we will see how worship and sacrifice always goes hand in hand.

All right. Now, to give us an example from the Bible, we

will see King David. Now, King, when we talk about worship,

had to not talk about David, really hard to not talk about it,

because God talks about David when it comes to worship. So he's regarded as

one of the greatest worshipers in the Bible, and he's called he's the only

man called a man after God's own heart. Right now, So there was

a time when King David, now he's sin and God wanted to punish the

people of Israel, and he gave him three choices. You read the Bible,

okay, And then and then there was a plaque because of a sin

that David did. So, now David was supposed to purchase a land to

build an altar to make a toldman, not basically okay, okay. So

he wanted to purchase a piece of land from Arana, the Jibu side,

all right, so he could build an altar to worship God so that God

will withdraw the plague. So God spoke to the prophet Gad We're going to

read in a while. Okay. Now this Jibu said, runna, I

saw the king coming to him. He's like, take the land, take

take take, take you wander any most sacrificed the day. They're like,

oh, the king come and see me. Oh yeah, okay, so

take for what did David say? So David insisted of paying full price.

Even though he's king, technically he can take anything. He wants correct,

but he did not. He paid the full price. So let's read from

a second Samuel to the twenty four because it's very important for us to read

God's word and see what happens. Verse eighteen. And Gad came that day

to David and said to him, go up erect and altar to the Lord

on the trashing floor of Arrana, the Jibu side, because God wants to

stop the plague. In order for God to stop the plague a punishment upon

the people of Israel, David go and worship the Lord. So David,

according to the word of God, went up as a lot commanded. Now

Arrana looked and saw the king and his servants coming towards him. So Arranna

went out and bowed before the king with his face to the ground. Then

Aruna I said, why has my lord the king come to his servant.

And David said, to buy the trashing flaw from you, to build an

altar to the Lord, that the plaque may be withdrawn from the people.

Now Runner said to David, let my lord the king take and offer up

whatever seems good to him. Look, here are oxen for burnt, offering

a burning sacrifice, and thrashing implements, and the yolks of the oxen for

wood, everything unique, King is all here for you convenience, gun,

convenient right now, all these old king a runner has given to the King

now in common sense, the common sense. Now you and I in normal

circumstances with okay, lor quite not he give mima. I didn't steal from

him, gun, okay now and so and may the Lord God accept you

now verse twenty four. Then the king said to a runner, no,

but I will surely buy it from you for a price. Nor will I

offer burnt offerings to the Lord my God, with that which costs me nothing.

So David bought the churching floor and the oxen for fifty shackles or silver.

And David built there and altar to the Lord, and offered burn offferings

and peace offerings to the Lord. Heeded the prayers for the land, and

the plaque was withdrawn from Ariel. David understood the harder worship. He understood

that we doubt sacrifice. Worship has no power. All right, Okay,

So now listen, that's why he paid. In second chronicles, you're sorry.

In the other chronicles you will read that he paid full price. That

means even around said my king, you're my king, I give you discount.

I give you a discount. All of us will accept discount on right.

Okay, but for this thing, David said, no, I will

not accept a discount for my worship unto the Lord. Okay, So that

is David for us. So the devil doesn't care what we do in church

as long as we don't give God that which caused something we treasure. Okay.

Many people give God what they want to give. These courts are I

think in my slides. Okay, many people give God what they want to

give. How many of us will give God what he wants from us?

Okay, now I know. So I'm not condemning anyone of us that I

say again this words for me, and I believe for every one of us.

And sometimes we think we are serving the Lord, we think that we

are giving to the Lord. But if we ask God to reveal our hearts,

sometimes the deceitfulness of our own hearts. Sometimes we give God what we

want, what we like, our preferences, according to our time, our

convenience, isn't it. So now remember the poor widow in the New Testament

who put in two couple point Poper points two couple coins into the tempo treasury.

That's the problem we talk to us. But Jesus said in Mark chapter

twelve, right assuredly, I say to you, this widow has put in

more than all those who have given into the treasury. Doesn't make sense.

When it doesn't make sense, everybody definitely act together. It's more than two

coins. But what is Jesus trying to say? For they all put in

out of their abundance, but this woman, or this widow, out of

her poverty, put in all that she had, her whole liflihood. The

point is, God is looking not at the amount. So an illustration is

this, two persons can put inten wingate. I put intending gate. Eliza

put intend wingate, okay, into the offering bank. To me, it

could be just some spare change from my dinner yesterday, But to her it

could be her entire week's allowance that she has put in. It's not about

equal amount, it's about equal sacrifice. That the sacrifice wasn't equal, and

God sees that all right. So the issue is that what Graham said is

not in the amount, but is in the heart. Not So the issues

in the heart, not our preference or comfort. So the heart of worship

is the worship of the Amen. So the point is by pass kenachin.

So we can all survive church by doing whatever we want. You know that

we come to church, you know we survived, survived church, not in

the censer. And we can get away with it because sometimes no one knows

because only God can see the heart. Why not. Yeah, we can

see what we want. We can dress what we want. Now it's getting

out trying to Okay, same thing, because it's same for me too.

We can arrive when and when we like it. We can live as and

when we want to or not. Okay, we can serve as and when

we want. Also, we choose, Ah, this is the one we

choose our away dates. Ah. It's never in extra DNA. Okay.

We are here and we're supposed to be here when we are away when we

really have to be away, all right, it's not choose when to be

away. The question is are we who are we doing this? Four?

What we do here? Is there a sacrifice involved? That's the question in

our worship today. So it's a personal question we have to ask ourselves.

Is there sacrifice involved? In your worship today, because if that's not if

did not cost you anything, you probably have not worshiped the Lord today.

So don't give what is convenient, give what the Lord finds susceptible. Now,

this may require us to go beyond what it's comfortable for us, all

right, okay, So questions for us to think about, how is our

preparation right when we prepare ourselves to serve the Lord, to come to worship

the Lord, they our worship or our sacrifice today? Was it pleasing to

the Lord? And when we say pleasing the Lord, did it cost us

something today? Now I shall move on to my next one, worship slaves

giants. I don't think I can finish all of it, but I shall

finish part of it. Okay, Okay, So two of the Bible.

Like again, we look at David, right, and we know this famous

story about David and Goliath, correct, But before David, yeah, before

he became a great warrior to take down the giant, in his life and

in the life of the people of Asriel, he was a great worshipper and

we all knew that he was just a shepherd boy. He was the youngest

of the clan probably the most insignificant and the forgotten one, to the point

when even profitt Samuel came an annoying one. It's almost like they don't even

remember there was David so putting talk about being rejected, right, okay,

not like forgotten. He was probably one of those forgotten in the fields.

Oh you mean that that brother Ah, yeah, okay, it's like that.

And then when he went to visit the brothers, the brothers actually scolded

him while you here, he's supposed to be with the sheep. It's almost

like he has no place in the family. And I'm not sure aga,

Yeah, it's almost like that. So worship doesn't always has to involve warfare,

but warfare always have to involve worshame. So long before David became one

of the greatest kings in Asriel, he was a shepherd boy. He was

the youngest one, and his task is just to take care of the sheep.

So but while he was taking care of the sheep, that seems very

insignificant and away mundaneing, he worshiped the Lord, and in his worship he

learned how to be a warrior. Why when the young when the bear and

the lion came and catch his ship his lamb. Right, he will fight

the lamb and lamb blood. He will fight the lion and the bear.

Not with his own strength. He learned at a young age to rely on

the Lord and to depend on the Lord. If not, how is he

going to face Goliath? When we read the Stress, it's a childhood story

that we're all learning in the Sunday school, isn't it, And we are

so familiar with it, so sometime it becomes so familiar that they yayah and

maybe the sling the tong die. That's it. That's it. But if

you think about it, right, how how did David came to that point?

And we all know the story about David and Golia, so I shall

not go into the details, all right, we all know it. How

did he come to a point he became from a shepherd boy into a mighty

warrior. I don't think David did anything on purpose side. He went there

based on the instruction of his that daddy said, go and bring food for

your brothers, that's all. And he has been doing that for a long

time. You know why they will array in battle, you know how long

or not forty days? For forty days the people of Issie pulled up with

the tounting of Goliath. Forty days they allowed the enemy to do that to

them. David just do his normal thing. He just a shepherd boy.

And then lady asked me bring food, So I bring, So I bring.

When he came there and he's hearing all these things, He's like,

what in the world, how can you allow the enemy to defy the army

of God, the mighty God. So he just being himself and all this

world when he had to take care of his sheep, he relied on God.

He just said, King Saw, i'm you can send me. I

will fight Goliath. And what did the king said? Discouraging gun? You

are just a youth and this Goliath is a warrior from his youth. Ah,

imagine it is you. How do you feel? Okay? God,

Nada Sila right, not Eliza, get it. You can do it?

Okay? Yeah, he bobbly colonel left, right and center. But David,

David could only do what he beat that day because he knew his God.

Amen. Amen, So I want to refer us to First Samuel,

chapter seventeen, verse forty five. Okay, XTV. Thank you very much.

Verse forty five, or first Samuel seventeen. Then David said to the

Philistine, and this philistine is Goliath, so earlier, honor, he already

tolking Saul. Sorry, the armor is too heavy. I cannot do this.

Took it off, and he took a little his own shepherd's pouch and

five smooth stones. You all know the story, right, With the stones

in his pouch, and he sling in his hand. He went to approach

the giant Goliath. And giant Goliath is like, ha ha ha, laughing

at him. You think I'm a dog? Is it coming me? Coming

to me? It stakes and all the things right, okay, And then

this is what David said to him. Okay. Then David said to the

Philistine, you come to me with a sword, with a spear, and

with a javelin. But I come to you. And this is where this

is the difference when a worshiper is entering becoming a warrior, all right,

And I come to you in the name of the Lord of Holes, the

God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. David invoked this

name of God. I thought this before. I think last year as well,

the name of God of all names. David chose this name, Jehovah

Sabbath, all right, and it just means the Lord of Hosts, the

Lord of Heaven's armies. And this name denotes that about God's universal sovereignty over

every army, whether physical or spiritual, meaning to say that God is the

commander of Israel's army and every army in the world, all right, okay,

both spiritual and earthly. So the Lord of Hosts is saying that the

King of all heaven and Earth is with me. That's what David is saying,

all right. So in the Old Testament we usually see them invoking this

name when they are fairing a battle. Okay. So the Bible records and

we know what happened after that. So he came to God. All he

did is one sling shot, pauw, That's it. And we know that

Goliath was down and out just one sling shot. So Church, how did

David transform from a shepherd boy to a mighty warrior? So before he was

a giant slayer, right, a warrior or a giant slayer, David was

a tremendous worshipper. Now David, of course authored many of the salms or

most of the psalms in the Bible right, and he knew how to shift

his focus unto the Lord. So when the bear came and the lion came,

he knew that his God was with him. And he learned, even

as a shepherd boy, to rely on the Lord. So David must have

drawn supernatural strength on the Lord, received courage and confidence from God to put

an end to Goliath's taunting. He learned from all his years of tending the

sheep and worshiping the Lord that his dependency is not on his own ability,

but on the greatness of his God. He knew you, the Lord,

his God, and that's why he can call on the name of God the

lot of host Amen. And David was incredibly passionate about God, and he

refused. So, Church, we got to be stubborn in some things,

understand not yes, we say, don't be stubborn by some things. You

got to be stubborn. He refused to let the enemy taunt the people of

Issue anymore. So our love for God should bring us to a place where

we cannot cannot bear all right to be casual anymore about what the enemy is

doing our lives. People we got to come to that point. So our

love for God, our worship unto God, should bring us to the place

whereby we are not going to allow the enemy anymore to turn us and all.

So, a true worshiper has to be prepared to take down giants.

Do you know that? So the question is, are we going to just

sit here and let our go liar turn us, or are we going to

be a David, a true worshipper who will stand before our giants? So

what are the giants we're talking about now? We're talking about giants that cripple

our marriages, giants that tear families apart, Giants as in the work of

the enemy, in our lives, that inflict diseases, destroy dreams for a

future. We're talking about giants of fear, fear of what, fear of

losing out, fear of not being accepted, fear you're not being good enough,

being judged, doubt, guilt, hurt, bitterness, low self esteem,

lousy paths. All these are our giants. Are we putting up with

the lions and the tactics of the enemy, or are we allowing him or

and allowing him to rob us of our self worth? And our identity Church,

come on. True worship is able to help us find victory over the

giants in our lives. And these are the giants, and they are basically

the enemy, all right, and we need to emerge from mid victorious and

changed. True worship is able to break the bondages and barriers in our lives

that keeps us from moving forward. So here in ex Church, we desire

to see our people completely set free, right, completely set free from the

giants in our lives. That's why we teach our people, We teach all

of our teach us ourselves to praise and to worship God no matter what the

circumstance. Amen. And that's what we're going to do in a while,

all right, We're going to worship. You're going to praise the Lord because

true worship slays the giants in our lives. So so if we feel like,

right, we are being hit, right not, we are being hit

on every side, then worship God with warfare in your mind. So if

we think that you're just singing songs, church, we are not. It

is spiritual worship is warfare. Be on your guard, Let's be on our

guards. Let's allow the Lord to fight our battles for us, amen,

And the Lord will because he is Jehovah Saba or the Lord of holes,

he fights our battle for us, right, and we all know that.

And sometimes God allows us allow different things to come to our lives. Right,

it's just so he can prepare us for what is the next. But

it's a hit of us. So even Jesus himself was tested before he went

into his ministry. He was tested, right, Let praise all right,

now, in the Book of Judges, after Joshua. Now, so after

Moses, there was Joshua, and after Joshua died, it was a time

of the judges. Right. So in Judges chapter one and two, it

was the tribe of Judah who let the people of Issua in tobattos. And

what's the meaning of Judah praise? And you know we have this Judah first

that we have been announcing about worship time led and anchored by our youth,

our campus and our teens. But we said, everyone's invite because we want

to praise the Lord. Praise goes forth, and it is spiritual, right,

it is spiritual, and it is warfare, so let praise. So

why the tribe of Judah goes first because praise should always come first instead of

our natural tendency too complain, right when we face with a challenge or trouble.

It's normal I complain to Okay, So I got to remind and God.

We have to constantly remember the Lord and what the Lord says, right,

and allow God to help us, because it's natural for us to complain.

It's natural for us to say say Lord, Say Lord, Say Lord.

The say Lord all the time, right, yeah, or to blame

one another. Yeah yeah yeah, HeLa, HeLa. No, it's normal,

it's natural tendency. But in order for us to shift away from the

natural tendency and to the Lord, let's praise the Lord, all right,

Amen? And besides praising, let us take possession. And I have a

slight for this. Yes, let take possession of God's promises for each and

every one of us. Let us learn to sing and to speak God's word

into every situation that we have in our lives, and continue to claim God's

promises until we see a break true. Amen. Amen, hallelujah. We
