You're listening to a message to go from X Church. We hope this message
-
will light up your tea. The title says life lessons from a baker,
-
but not me the baker. Okay, if there are any bakers in the
-
house, don't shoot me, okay, because you might be like, there,
-
okay, I bake. I love baking, And I say baking is
-
a science unlike cooking. Cooking is an art. I tell you. People
-
say, how do I give me recipe, A bit of discipit of dead
-
you know, give me recipe, don't know a love, a bit of
-
discipine of how to go? All right? I give I mean run down,
-
I don't know. I don't give me. Give me measurements, cups,
-
tea, spoons, tablespoons, you know. And then they're like,
-
yeah, just cook club from the heart, are you No. I'm so
-
I'm a better baker than I am a cook and cooking dishes or the nonya
-
dishes or the I can't I need I need instructions. So baking is a
-
science, all right, You've got measurements a man, so a live lessons
-
from a base but not me. I was just watching another baker. Um.
-
I think overnight became famous because she baked the cake for Prince Harry and
-
Megan for their wedding. And then wow, you know, because she must
-
be a good baker as well. And I was just listening to something and
-
I kind of like caught a message. Don't shoot me. Okay, okay.
-
If you think these techniques don't work, okayla, but this is what
-
I think. I also believe. Okay, it works. I tried it
-
before. But anyway, life lessons from a baker and where am I coming
-
from. So if you haven't baked before, if your baking is failed,
-
now you try these techniques later so that you're you know, your your muffin,
-
don't become like stone, your scone, don't become like stone, you
-
know, and then you can sell. Don't forget. I have to tell
-
you. My caracupcakes were sold and wanted by Starbucks, but I couldn't service
-
them. But it went to other cafes many years ago, and we started
-
a cafe as a youth center. So all my Cara cup cakes went out
-
to different cafes around town San Francisco, Coffee Bog Cafe, Coffee Club,
-
everything of all my fudge cakes, all our food went out aside from us
-
serving in the youth center. So I can bake a little bit, but
-
have not been baking for a long time. So when you don't bake for
-
a long time, you forget all your techniques. So I have to learn
-
again, lack. Anyways, I am going to be drawing from different portions
-
of scripture. I wanted to just perhaps draw us draw our attention to something
-
that's not baking. But I'm not drawing out of this analogy, but only
-
to say that this is what God does in our lives. So Isaiah chapter
-
sixty Isaiah chapter sixty four and verse eight. And then you know why,
-
why and why I'm going into baking, but has nothing to do with baking.
-
It's something else. And I'm not a message for another day, Okay.
-
It says here in Isaiah sixty four Isaias sixty four and verse eight.
-
It says here, But now, oh Lord, you are our father.
-
We are the clay, and you are our potter, and all we are
-
the work, and all we are the work of your hands. Amen.
-
So God is the potter and we are the clay. So any of you
-
who likes pottery, I love pottery. I'm really bad at it. I'm
-
still learning. Um, you know that which you know this? This,
-
this little passage just tells you that you know. Heaven rules. Amen.
-
The Lord God is the one who moles us and makes us and we are
-
clay. So does the clay tell the potter I don't want to look like
-
this? No chance, Okay, the potter will make it the way he
-
thinks. This vase is gonna look all, this ball is gonna look like
-
and and so coming from that as our theme even this year, I think
-
it's so apt. I just love the word Heaven rules. In Cantonese.
-
I like to say, ten, young man, all right, Heaven has
-
eyes. You know. The Lord sees everything, and there's a good thing.
-
And because Heaven sees everything, the Lord sees our lives. Amen.
-
And he's interested in our lives. He knows he's working. And even when
-
things happen, not because he put us there, because life circumstances happen,
-
he still sees and he makes a way for us. So I want to
-
encourage us in our matureing, in our growing up, in our faith,
-
in our faith and our walk in Jesus. There are different things that we
-
can look into and so I'm giving us lessons from a baker, all right,
-
So for all the bakers in our house. If I happen to not
-
say it right, forgive me. But I tried some of these techniques.
-
Okay. Number one. Now I wanted to start in the positive instead of
-
saying don't, so I went with the positive. But don't take it literally
-
loud. Okay. Number one. It says undermix the mix, all right,
-
undermix, which if the other word is don't overmix. Okay, Now,
-
when you stir, I don't know how many of you, how many
-
of you have done baking before? Yeah, no, oh yes, oh
-
my goodness, you don't make I've been making since I was a teen.
-
Okay, all right, all right making? When's why I'm still learning.
-
So the word is undermix, or in another word, I'm saying don't over
-
mix, all right. So if any of you have tried baking before,
-
like say muffins, if you overmix your muffins, that's why it becomes stone
-
hard. Yeah, it's like you know, you can drawn pass John if
-
I don't know, So it's like too hard over mixing, and so what
-
about the overmixing? So um, undermix? Um? When you uh,
-
okay. I wanted to give you the what's the connection with undermix? Um,
-
don't overmix? And I've given us a point, which is make room
-
for God to work in your life. Make room, all right, make
-
room so Galatians chapter two and verse twenty. Thank you XTV for helping me
-
and making my slights better than when I gave it to you. Galatians Chapter
-
two and verse twenty. You all know this verse. It's one of our
-
favorite verses, but it's hard to live by it because it's sometimes we just
-
want to do it a way. Okay. Galatians Chapter two and verse twenty.
-
It says I have been crucified with Christ. WHOA what does that mean?
-
I have been crucified with Christ. I'm dead, all right. It
-
is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me and the life
-
which I now live in the flesh. I live by faith in the Son
-
of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Amen and hallelujah.
-
You and I are living today because we live by faith in the Son
-
of God, and we have been the only reason why we can live in
-
the faith in Christ is because we've been crucified. Okay, how many of
-
you know crucified dead people don't wake up? I see dead people, okay,
-
all right, when someone is dead, they don't come out, they
-
don't rise again, resurrect again. Let's America rise up again? And you
-
know, like if for example, if example, if if um okay,
-
I use Auntie Mabel okay, Elder Maibel like if let's say elder Maibels,
-
you know, lying there like dead, okay. Then I walked by her
-
and I say, Neibel, I told you so, your cake's not nice.
-
And now you're gone. Then she's supposed to be crucifying Christ dead.
-
Really she wakes up? You say one, I'm gonna get you. No
-
dead person rise us up to give you, you know comment after the end?
-
Go down there again? No, right, when you're crucifying Christ,
-
dead people don't rise up again. They did. We're dead to ourselves and
-
we are alive in Christ. So why has he got to do it?
-
And mix? Well? To Mila, you know, and we mix better?
-
How do it mix better? We have some eggs, we put some
-
sugar in it, we beat it up, and then later we might put
-
some chocolate or depending you know. Before now undermixing, if you're making a
-
flawless cake. A lot of people like to have flowless cake. It's best
-
not to overmix. Undermix is the best, and then you don't have to
-
mix until everything you know ruppy. You know, so some people love to
-
mix. Even if you had flower, it will mix and it mix it
-
mix it. Think, well, the more mix and more nice it looks,
-
you know, like everything is so mix and so nice that you'll be
-
a great cake. Wrong, your cake will be heavy, it will deflate,
-
it won't rise, it won't be a nice cake. Lah. Okay,
-
And especially if you're making a like a brownie orby cement a brownie or
-
a flawless chocolate cake, and you keep mixing it mix it, and we
-
see when you get a cake, but it won't be nice. It'll be
-
very very hard. So in our lives, you know that that mixing is
-
like I want to cover every ground. I want to plan everything, I
-
want to do everything. Every chocolate must get into the mix, every piece
-
of fruit must be there, everything must be covered. Don't leave any flower.
-
There's no room. There's no room for air and the lightness. But
-
it's all compacted already. I think in our lives, give yourself room to
-
the Lord to work in our lives. So important you plan everything, you
-
want to cover every corner of your life, plan your kids, future,
-
your future. Everything wants good to plan. But make some room, make
-
some room for Jesus to work and bring the lightness and bring the tastiness.
-
Oh yum, are we not hungry and have a wonderful flowless chocolate orange cake?
-
WHOA? Come on? All right? If you over mix because you
-
just you want everything to be just so nicely covered, it tends to be
-
a little bit hard. Is that true? Bakers in the house. I
-
don't know how many bakers in our house? All right, expresso? Okay,
-
so we want to be able to mix the wet ingredients and the dry
-
ingredients. But you don't have to mix it because some people say, let's
-
just keep mixing, and you keep mixing. Actually you need to fold it
-
in, fold it in, fold it in, and then you've got the
-
lightness, got enough air. Your kid will will rise. It won't sink.
-
A lot of people say, my kicks sank, yes, dipped in
-
the middle. So don't overmix. Just undermix it a little bit and it
-
will have nice air so that it can rise in our lives. Give some
-
room. Don't have to cover every corner, plant everything, but say,
-
Lord, here's room for you to work in my life. I've done everything
-
I could, but we want to make room. Friends. If we're gonna
-
grow in our faith, if we're gonna allow God to add his very fingerprint
-
on our lives, would you make room for Jesus. Come on, don't
-
be the inn. That's it. I'm sorry, Mary, there's no room
-
for you to give birth to Jesus. If only that hotel realized who he
-
was going to a house, he would have said, hey, okay,
-
I'll throw out the other feln and bring you in the King of Kings,
-
and the Lord of Lords was going to be born in his hotel. It
-
will be the best well known hotel. Everybody want to touch that bed,
-
you know, all right? So you you you just need to allow for
-
some room. When I say room, meaning when you see God day to
-
day, you're asking the Lord to come in. Lord this area in my
-
life. You know my attitude, Hey Lord, my character, Hey Lord,
-
my relationship, in my marriage, Hey Lord, my relationships, or
-
my workplace. You're giving room to the Lord. So don't keep trying to
-
mix in and get yourself all mixed up, and then like, I'm all
-
covered. These are my plans. But say Lord, I've got that's freedom
-
for you. You. I know God Heaven rules, and he rules,
-
but sometimes we just block him out. And then you wonder, how come
-
it's not happening my way. But it's not my way. It's his way
-
and man, and we all go through that. I go through that,
-
you go through that. It we just want to cover all grounds. See,
-
I've done everything. I'm so good. Ah, those of you are
-
very good administrators, very good heavy war if I touch you on you like,
-
oh no, no, cannot No, We've got very good I mean
-
I'm an administrator myself like things, but I'm not as terror as some people
-
in the house here. They are so good. Really, we are so
-
blessed that we can run events. Yeah, but all I'm saying if suddenly
-
there's who fi Okay, like you move the fridge, okay, you move
-
my program. No, we need to be able to make room, keep
-
ourselves light and not heavy and burdened down by our own plans. And that's
-
why God is constantly speaking to us that he is working in our lives.
-
If you read through Scripture. You will find that the Lord's hand print is
-
on every part of the lives of the people in the Bible, and even
-
people who who are living on planet Earth today. Why some people, you
-
know, some of us will experience the miracles of you know, because we
-
take those steps of faith, while others like way things too. Why maybe
-
we plan too much, Maybe we're afraid to trust God. The one person
-
you don't have to be afraid to trust is our father God. He loves
-
us, He has plans that he wants us to He wants to unveil to
-
us bit by bit No No. Some one three nine, A great some
-
to read that it says that he starts towards us are like the sand on
-
the seashore. I want to remind you God starts towards you out so much.
-
Amen, Come on, guys, your lives are so so you know,
-
a beautiful canvase, and God gives you the opportunity to to just live
-
your life with his goodness and his blessing. Just try to make room for
-
him so that he can do the extra for you. Amen, that little
-
bit more and then you see your miracle. And He's done that for us
-
right here in acts. So many of you've experienced that, that little extra
-
and you made room for him. He's done that for our church, that
-
little extra that happens. And wow, how come we can do this?
-
We only can because we make room for God. We never tell God can't
-
touch this, No, no, no, can't. If you keep doing
-
that, you won't see that extra something in the Lord. Allow God to
-
touch your plans, Allow God to touch your lives. Allow him to say
-
something, just so that you're assured that God is with you and that when
-
that door opens, it's from the Lord. Hey, the devil can open
-
doors for you also, But I don't want you to lose your soul and
-
lose your family and do all that because you thought that was God's way.
-
Come up, he give him room. But listen and be open to his
-
word as he leads us one step at a time. Amen. So friends,
-
don't overmix, just a little bit of an undermixing, and then your
-
life has a lightness and a nice crisp, crispness around the cake. Yeah,
-
and it won't diep It's gonna rise and it will be a beautiful,
-
flawless chocolate orange cake. WHOA Yeah, you know, and you allow the
-
Holy Spirit, the oil of the Holy Spirit. Friends, if you're doing
-
the orange chocolate cake, that one when you zest the orange, don't zest
-
it on your paper on a plate, zested straight on your batter, so
-
that the oils of the orange will fall together with the zest and you get
-
that essence and it won't be wasted. Hey, when the Holy Spirit's oil
-
anointing is allowed to fall on you, all of it will just annoint your
-
life. Every one of us has that possibility. If you just open up
-
and say, Lord, I want that essence, I want that anointing.
-
I don't smell like orange, but I want the Holy Spirit annointing in my
-
work. In a way it work. How you know, God give you
-
good success in your workplace, in your family life, in your friendships,
-
in your relationships. God's favor, God's goodness, God's quickening. Don't go
-
there, don't do this. This is not the time to say this.
-
Under mixing gives God's space to work in your Life's amen, it's powerful,
-
it's amazing. Again, we don't want to carry burdens and heaviness unnecessarily.
-
If it's there, we've got to go through it. Yes, but don't
-
have to take it on. We always exchange it with the yoke that Jesus
-
gives us its light. And I want us to experience just the fullness,
-
for us to grow to be lighter, lightweight, don't overmix, undermix.
-
And for me, you know it really is. If I have been crucified
-
with Christ, then it's no longer either lives. Meaning, Lord, you
-
have your way, and I just want to learn to submit it. And
-
we're all in that journey of submitting and trusting God for every step of the
-
way. Amen. And there's a great verse for you to memorize. You
-
know. I memorize the scripture, and sometimes when I fail, I just
-
go back to the verse and crack to the Lord. I'm sorry, Lord,
-
I wasn't very crucified that day. I allowed myself to wake up and
-
respond badly to that situation. So Lord, I come back and I submit
-
to you. Have your way. Lord, I've been crucified with you.
-
I have died you. You have come a life, the life I now
-
live, the life each of us is living right now. It's a life
-
you're living by faith, Amen, by faith in the Son of God who
-
loved you and me to give himself for us. He shed blood for us,
-
He hung on the cross for us. Amen. He crucified so that
-
we are We don't have to, you know, be crucified physically. But
-
He's taken all of our sin, all of our past, all of our
-
failures, and given us new life. Amen. Amen. So if you're
-
gonna make a cake today, remember and the mix. Okay, just a
-
little bit, just nice, so that you have a nice left on your
-
cake. In your own spiritual life. Make room for God, people,
-
make tell your neighbor. Wake the person up and say, make room for
-
God in your life. Tell the other neighbor you're gonna have a nice cake.
-
Okay, hallelujah Amen. Under mix. Second point is okay, this
-
one under whip, well not not whipping before okay, whipping. You're like
-
when you whip cream and you whip egg whites. The whipping so what my
-
picture that can't see there? Okay. So for the longest time when I
-
had to do egg white whipping, they always give you the recipe whip until
-
stiff peaks form. So it's so stiffe that when you turn your your your
-
ball upside down, the egg whites won't drop because it's stiff. So now
-
the technique is to under whip, under whip a little so that it brings
-
also adds lightness. It has to be the consistency of your better, not
-
harder than you're better, not more tough, but just about the same because
-
he's whipped. But it's just at about the same consistency. So those of
-
you who bake, you know what I'm saying. If you're not into baking,
-
enjoy the cake we give you. Okay, all right, all right,
-
So underwhipping, why if you if you usually recipes says oh until stiff
-
peaks. Uh, they say that, but this baker says, she likes
-
to underwhip it a little bit so that it flows into the better. And
-
for me that underwhip here I I put it down as um, Oh what
-
did I write there? Give me me? Yeah, make room for change,
-
make room for time has been ability for change. One is for room
-
for God to work in your life. But then allowing for change. Amen,
-
all right, give yes, make space for God to work. Then
-
make room for change because change is the greatest enemy to us. Yes,
-
all right. Wow, when something changes in our lives, we super react.
-
We're very super react, very super Oh my word. When when our
-
church moved into decentralized, the central decentralized Asian, we all moved out and
-
who like every launch you know, the power fire came on me and my
-
husband like pasta useless for earp oh, go angry this and we're still here.
-
Are you here with us? Are you here with us? You're here?
-
Look, we are reaping what we listen to, what God says,
-
we can you if you don't be flexible, if you just think us,
-
I can't like like change. I'm so resistant. I want to know it
-
now. I want everything now. No, we've got life. You want
-
to know now. Come on, Mom's nine months pregnant. You shot it,
-
man, Papa, it takes nine months. You wish the baby could
-
come out right now, but it's nine months. Wow. Nine months of
-
carrying is fun for halfway, and then the next halfway is like I can't
-
sleep, I can't sleep. I need these I need my back ache and
-
the others know some moms we have other digestional or whatever. I don't know,
-
different things that happened, but it's change. And if you don't make
-
room for change, the moment the baby comes, Hey, when the baby
-
comes, your life changes, Your sleep leaves you. Your child has no
-
timing. Went to poop last night. One of my Singapore team members said,
-
yes, the husband went off to France for work. And then she
-
said I was left with the child was waking up at two am and four
-
am? Why? She said, I haven't slept. Wow, our life
-
changes. But even as you become a parent, if you want to be
-
a parent, you you better get ready. Otherwise hang on the change.
-
You have to be flexible to change. Whipping and over whipping. Oh I'NTI
-
so stiff, readier, I cannot move. Don't touch me any I ain't
-
moving right, You gotta be let some flexibility come in. We are so
-
resistant to change any kind of change in your office, in your life,
-
in your church and your community. Change change, Prime Minister. Change?
-
Why why by George or jungle? All right? So we're like going wrong.
-
I cannot take change. But life is about change. And every stage
-
of your life has changed. Every stage of your life from from the day
-
you were born. Moments change as a parent, you have to change with
-
your child as a as a young teenager. But poor teenager, I just
-
hated my teenager. What teenage life like? Why? Do I look like
-
this? I don't know, Like, what is this right? I'm supposed
-
to be a good Why do I look like a boy? Oh? My
-
goodness? And my teenagers like, oh the worst? You know, Like
-
everybody called me like, hey, are you your father's brother? No,
-
I'm a girl. You know. It didn't help. I want to cut
-
my hands so short? I look like what the boys? I always watch
-
jeans so like, you know, And that's change. Change boys, change,
-
voice, body changes, everything changes whoa suddenly? And then I and
-
I watch you grow and then whoa beauty? After that, as you go
-
into your campus and young adult where you learn to put something else on your
-
face and it makes better change your spects, take away your spects? Change?
-
Are you and I flexible with change? Don't be afraid of change?
-
If you continue to be resistance, it's difficult because the harder you put your
-
hold on and don't want to change, then you really will overwhip your life
-
and you cannot move. I want to encourage us. God, let the
-
people of Israel in the desert, right in the in the desert, out
-
of Egypt and going to Promised Land. I honestly, have you read it?
-
Have you read it a lot. You haven't. Please read the Book
-
of Exodus and Deuteronomy and numbers. That was change all the time. They
-
would camp in this place for two days and then the Lord would say,
-
move. Huh, we just so need build toilet. No, God,
-
now you want us to take up our toilet again? Move by move?
-
When then they move? When an they stay in one place for five years?
-
Wow? Getting used to it? And then the Lord says move.
-
They moved like I think they had forty camps. I mean, I'm not
-
mistaken, around forty odd camps before they reached the Promised Land. I think
-
if all of us were there, we mum rounda already we sure, mom
-
Ronda and say are you God? Who are you? Are you making me
-
move from one place to another place? And not just not you, you
-
know, your children and your grandfather and your father, and your cows and
-
your donkeys and your tens. Everything has to move. Wow, Lord,
-
very inconvenient. But since when was our life just meant for convenience? Come
-
on, and we want COVENI I want convenience. I want convenience. Don't
-
move my chair, okay, convenience friends, you think I want to go
-
out there? And plant, got the go morning and not be here.
-
Huh, I miss you. I missed up five years in between twenty twelve
-
to twenty seventeen. That were about five years, right about five years.
-
I miss so much of all of you growing up and getting married, han
-
children, because we had to go and plant in Melbourne and UK traveling five
-
weeks at a time. Some people thought we were having holiday just because you
-
saw the food. I ate I had a cooku ki. They all say,
-
you think busses guarding for the first time. My husband said me too,
-
because I never Oh my gosh, you know I want convenience. Why
-
planting a new church is inconvenient. I have to plug myself up from here
-
and move out. Or you know, starting a new business is inconvenience sometimes,
-
but it's exciting because you get to build a new business. Right.
-
So, friends, I want to say to us, you know, when
-
the Lord works in our lives. So um, in that point that I
-
gave you there, I make room for change. Resistance is a big part,
-
but let us be open to that. Uh that that that whipping a
-
bit around, but not over whipping. The verse that we had given you
-
here is first second conveniance for sixteen and eighteen. Amen. Second Corindians four
-
sixteen to eighteen, it says, be therefore, do not lose heart.
-
Don't get discouraged when there's changed. Even though our outward man is perishing.
-
Yeah, outwardly, no things are changing. Yet your inner man is being
-
renewed day by day. Hello, stop here for a moment, ladies and
-
gentlemen, can you see my outward man changing. I don't think I look
-
the same as I did twenty three years ago, planning. I think I
-
do love by anyway, all right, But our in one man is being
-
renewed every day, even though the outside there's changes. Look, we've changed,
-
but we are being renewed. There are You've You've grown spiritually, You've
-
you've grown taller in your spirit. You are the giant, not Goliath anymore.
-
Amen, This is our word. Don't lose heart. Second verse seventeen.
-
For our light affliction pauses, the light affliction, the the difficulties is
-
but for a moment is working for us a far more exceeding an eternal weight
-
of glory. Church. I want us remember we have an eternity in Christ.
-
Please don't live as if you're gonna live forever on planet Earth. You
-
have an amazing kingdom to be living in with Jesus. So what you feel
-
you cannot get here, You're gonna get it a hundred times more. Be
-
patient the light affliction. You're not getting your way, You're not seeing that
-
dream happen yet. Please it says it's only for a moment. Oh,
-
it's working for you a far more exceeding, exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
-
God is working exceedingly for you. Take courage, be encouraged. If
-
you haven't seen that dream come true yet, that desire come true yet,
-
and you feel like you're in an affliction, like God, why am I
-
the only one going to Why is all this? Take it easy. Your
-
outward seems to be very but don't worry. You're inner man is becoming newer
-
and newer in the Holy Spirit. Next verse eighteen. While we do not
-
look at the things which are seen, and because we have been living on
-
planet Earth or so long, we're always looking at what we see, but
-
look at the things which are not seen. We can't see what's happening inside.
-
But the things which are not which are seen, are temporary. But
-
the things which are not seen are eternal Church. I want to remind you
-
it is it is my duty, as yours your pastor, to remind you
-
and remind myself this is only passing. Oh, you have an exceeding,
-
exceeding future in and not only to live, to be lived, then to
-
live now even but while you're going through this light affliction, I'm not I'm
-
not making light what you might be going through. But this is the take
-
courage. You feel like you're being whipped around right or like like in a
-
whipping a and here like where am I going? But I say, let's
-
not. Let's not over whip, underwhipped, so that it gives that space
-
for God to make those changes in our lives. Expect change. Don't be
-
so resistant that you cannot allow it. Must be like that. My grandfather
-
was a pustle. I also will be a pastor. My child has to
-
be a pastor. My great grandchild has to be a pustor. A love
-
for change. Hey man, I was I was poor my grandma and my
-
child would be poor. My grandchild will be poor. No, allow for
-
that change and allow for God to move and workin us. You know what,
-
because you're so precious to God. People, He will not allow you
-
to remain the way you are. You are more precious and the plans that
-
God has it is much more precious now what you think you want to achieve
-
in life. That's why there will come though light affliction, whipping around,
-
but never over overwhipped, so that you can experience the changes and that you
-
don't have to resist. Don't resist, just a Lord, if that's gonna
-
be changed, then make me like that which looks like you, really the
-
image of God Lord in me, that I may reflect you, that I
-
may be used by you. Be flexible a man, Try your best to
-
just allow for change to work. Be aware, Be conscious on how you're
-
responding to change. What is God doing in our lives? What is He
-
saying to us? Friends? It's very hard for me as well. I've
-
got different challenges. I can throw my hands on the end, give up,
-
which you can easily do. So we walk away from something. I
-
tell you why. When you don't have staying power, you never get to
-
see through the whole picture, and you throw in the towel. The first
-
round of challenge comes. We need to give some time for whipping, but
-
not for overwhipick give that pays for change in us? Maybe we need to
-
change the way we approach, the way we say something, the way we
-
respawn. Uh. You know in a marriage you're also excited to do you
-
know the single people want to get married. But are you ready for the
-
change? Are you ready to swallow the pill? They're very bitter pill when
-
you say I die to self. I love my husband enough that I die
-
to self. And and okilla, I give him to you. La,
-
you swallowed a bitter pill. No, hey, and the young girl those
-
married on more and the tears. H do not you lay down your life?
-
You know you have to go to change? Do not the house renovated
-
house renovation game? Fine? Oh no, no, I had to swallow
-
my pride. No I'm the one cooking. Let me joice? No,
-
no, no it is I'm like, okay, I understand my position and
-
my role. The Lord will teach him. I will submit, all right.
-
But all things are good. All things are good. I just want
-
to say to us, will you allow yourself that can give God the space
-
to change change you? Mold you ready and not ready and not not already?
-
Don't seem please say yes? These dad come on. If he does
-
change your plans, will you are you willing to trust him still? Are
-
you willing to trust him that he will not lead you to where his grace
-
is not able to lead you? Know, to support you. God's grace
-
is always ready for you to support you a man, hallelujah. Don't overmix.
-
It's called an underwhipping, so that when it's again. We don't want
-
heaviness. We want lightness in our spirit, even in our cakes, we
-
want it to be light. We want the egg whites to be not so
-
stiff, but light enough for it to mix nicely into the batter and bring
-
about lovely lightness us in our great consistency light affliction. Don't run away the
-
first or you know, just because it is challenging, it doesn't mean it's
-
not of God. Come on? How many? How many believers in Christ
-
have gone through persecution and remain in their faith in other nations, in nations
-
that are closed doors, they remain their faith. Come on? What are
-
you and I going through that is so bad that we are not willing to
-
stay in God's You know, in God's hands for him to mold us and
-
change us and to bring about his glory, bring about His beauty in our
-
lives. Are you liking your cake? People? Not sure? Anybody in
-
the house? Are you asleep? You slep late last night? Is it
-
come on? All right? First point, don't overmix. Second point,
-
don't overwhip all right? Be flexible, be open? What is God saying
-
to you? Change is inevitable. How you respond to change will make the
-
difference. And I tell you, if your life is in God's hands,
-
that change will be for our good. Amen, hallelujah. Please don't be
-
a stiff upper lip person, are not changing, cannot change. My chair
-
will be like this forever. This is the row I see in forever.
-
No, get me ready to share your chair? Okay? And a row.
-
Third point, under bake okay, can you believe it? Don't over
-
bake? If you're making flawless chocolate orange cake and brownies that you want some
-
gooenness and chewiness. Are you hungry? You cannot over bake? Why because
-
there is red sidual heat that will continue to bake your brownie and your cake.
-
So you that's why sometimes you forget nice to forget. I keep the
-
cake there. Oh yeah, it looks under bag la. I'll give another
-
five minutes. I'll give another five minutes. He's still not coogla and never
-
I're diving. It's like a rock, you know. And I'm like,
-
I don't bake cakes like that. Oh, I haven't been baking for a
-
long time because we worry that it's under bake. But let the heat after
-
you remove it from the oven to continue baking, cooking, and give it
-
an hour two hours to cool down, and then only test your cake.
-
Then only eat your cake. Okay, don't eat the cake now very hard.
-
I know you can't wait to eat it because it's so good. So
-
don't over bake your cake. Why because there will be residual heat. And
-
my point to this is experienced transformation. When you know the cake goes in
-
like a batter, it turns out something else. What does my cake look
-
like? I don't know, Okay, experience transformation and what does the kick
-
look like? Was there a picture earlier? Or you change my cake picture?
-
All right? That is an orange cake. So the middle potion there
-
usually doesn't get baked, and that really irks me. So I keep it
-
in the oven for a very long time trying to get the middle part cooked.
-
And then by that too bad. After that the kick becomes like a
-
rock, So I've got to take it out. You know, after some
-
time this goes by practice. You allow us to go through this and then
-
you bring it out so that you underbake it first and bring it out so
-
they can bake by the heat that's there already. So in our lives,
-
you know, the batter actually comes into a transformation and from the wet it
-
becomes into a kick. Well, that is like us as well. God
-
is working and transforming our lives. Wow. Any any of us that touches
-
God and the Holy Spirit, he transforms us. Wow. And then hallelujah.
-
Amen. You know he wants us too mature. You want out?
-
You want your child to mature? But thought that mummy and that is come
-
on mom's and the mummy's and that is not saying yes or amen? What
-
is wrong with you? Wake up? Come on mom's and the Do you
-
want your child to mature? Yeah? I hear Amen? Do you want
-
your baby to keep crawling? Do you want your child at twenty eight still
-
living in your house and eating off your plate? I know Malaysian parents are
-
okay with it? No, not good? Let them out, Let them
-
go out to work, right, guide them, guide them. But you
-
know that our lives must transform, Our lives must transform, and in that
-
transformation we have maturity. We need to mature in our walk with Jesus characters
-
being built. Amen. Right, we don't want to do you you know,
-
you know I have to. We've got so many parents, were so
-
many Cambus students here, and you know we've I've been so used to just
-
leading Cambus students and forgot that we have parents. Eum, I cat me
-
grandma already you know. Yeah, I'm older than a lot of you.
-
Yeah, yeah, I just don't realize them that old. Yeah. Yeah,
-
I thought in my in my in our X all these people I think,
-
I think I think they're older than media. I found out that I
-
don't know I'm older than them. What he looks older than me? Okay,
-
all right, okay, that's because they didn't come under the annoying thing.
-
The longer you sit at my feet, you are re released. Peter.
-
You can wear your buttic shuts after Peter. Yeah, because you're loose
-
wed, you're yeah, just anointing of youthfulness. Yes, amen, come
-
on, you sit under my anointing. Ah you get you fulness energy,
-
yes, amen, and then you are grandma age but don't look like grandma.
-
Yeah, I know you're wanta date me, but yeah huh married,
-
don't over big after the our lives become big and dry? Are you cannot?
-
So God wants to mature us. Mom's in dead. You want your
-
child to mature, but your child won'tmant you if you don't mature. Come
-
on, husband and wives need to mature. So dead your child your young
-
person will look at you and go like, Wow, their marriage is doing
-
good. They're talking nicely to each other, and if they do fight,
-
they quite quietly fight the side. Wow, Mom, and what you are
-
ring? And your children learn from us. We want to raise me and
-
young men, young women that have character so that they can lead their lives,
-
so that if they're married, they can lead their husbands their wives and
-
wives and wives serve together with their husbands. Mature men and women. Women
-
and men are full of character, substance. That's what God wants us to
-
be men and women of substance, and that's why there will be transformation.
-
Transformation. We transform from one level of faith to the next level of faith,
-
strength to strength, grace, upon grace, glory to glory. We
-
cannot overbake, otherwise there is no transform. As it becomes so hard,
-
cannot eat, cannot be enjoyed. But you underbake it and give it time,
-
and as time goes it will slowly cook and bake and become a nice
-
cake that we can all enjoy. Jun not amen, Amen, and the
-
verse wow good, But you know what changes that that that cake I turn
-
into a kike? Fire? Fire? Okay, what fire? Your job
-
twenty eight, verse ten, twenty three versent job Chapter twenty three and verse
-
ten. You know job said oh man, he but he knows the way
-
that I take. When He has tested me, I shall come forth as
-
gold. When God has tested you, you shall come forth as gold.
-
You want to be gold like gold. Don't just buy gold bars, be
-
gold yourself. Hallea. You don't lose me. Some of you lost a
-
lot of money with a bitcoin thing. Ahha recently uh huh, und A
-
lot of people lost a lot of money because you put that in there.
-
Come on, put yourself in the hands of God and be transformed, tested
-
and come out like gold, because gold last after it's been purified. We
-
want to be allowing ourselves in the hands of God, even to our tests.
-
He might not bring that testing. It may come due to the circumstances.
-
But as you allow yourself to be submitted to the Lord, the fire
-
that you're going through is going to produce an amazing person of character and substance.
-
It is hard, it is tough. It is not easy. Friends,
-
we get changed and transform. I think for me, you know,
-
having gone through with my dad four years of going in and out of hospital,
-
in and out of hospital, there were days I just I just felt
-
like I'm so tired because it's so alone, so lonely, this journey of
-
you know, wheeling him in, wheeling him out, sitting that I wait
-
for him to the surgeries or whatever, and sometimes you sit there. But
-
you know, I thought, as I said, then the Lord just reminded
-
me, saying, do you think this is the worst. This is opportunity
-
to be with your dad. I didn't know four years ago he was going
-
to go home. There were people around us, he made friends at all
-
the other patients. You know, I have been the Men's wat so it's
-
difficult for me. But they allowed me to go to the Men's Word because
-
I'm dead. But you know, it was it felt like faiet at that
-
time to just not know, you know, is he going to be well?
-
Is he going to be fully cleared from cancer? But I believe that
-
God took us through and yes, he goes cleared. You know each time
-
they went through that. Of course the last round it just decided to flare
-
up. But he was so steadfast that he was ready for Jesus. Sometimes
-
we go through that. It might not change, it didn't change anything.
-
But the God, I want to tell you, the God who sees.
-
Maybe our circumstances doesn't change, but the God who sees you, he makes
-
a way. Come on, not all of us are going to be gay
-
pop starsla, not all of us are going to look like the emblah.
-
I'm sorry, I won't I feel because it's all you know, plastic surgery.
-
The God who sees You can read that ingenesis when Haga ran away from
-
Sarah because you know Sarah another say go and give her husband if you know
-
a baby with with her. Then she after that persecute her. She runs
-
away and she's there with child, and God sees her. God sees.
-
The God who sees is the God who works in us. Heaven rules.
-
And sometimes your storm may not just stop overnight, and you still go through
-
it. Sometimes your pain and your body doesn't go overnight, but the God
-
who sustains you gives you that strength. Sometimes it doesn't change, my friends,
-
it doesn't change our parents who have Alzheimer's. And dimension doesn't change.
-
That does and mean God isn't with you, because the God who sees will
-
ask you to return to that place and trust him and let him lead you.
-
It leads you, not overbaked, underbate, and then the transformation comes.
-
That change is not about the other person. It's about me. I
-
change. I'm mature, I become that woman of substance. I let go,
-
I learn, I swallow my pride, I bow, I walk comely,
-
I say sorry, Please forgive me. I didn't know better. I
-
think many of us need to be aware. Come on, church, be
-
ahare that there is an eternity. Some days we just have to bow to
-
the Lord, not to that sickness, not to that you know, difficult
-
person or boss or whatever, Da da da economy. We bow to the
-
Lord and we say, Lord, you are working in me. I think
-
sometimes we just need to go down to the basics. We change, We
-
let God work in us. The God who sees sometimes leads us back to
-
that place and says, wait, I will turn the tide for you.
-
Don't run away. Don't run away, because in time I will work it
-
through for you. Amen. Amen, don't overbake, allow because this fire
-
is gonna make you as gold. Malachi chapter three in verse three and Malachi
-
three three. You know, he says that he will sit as a refiner,
-
as a purifier of silver. He will purify the sons of Levi and
-
purge them as old and silver that they may offer to the Lord and offering
-
in righteousness. The fire, the heat refines us. Amen, I tell
-
you, the fire of God, even difficult circumstances, might be a kind
-
of fire. It refines us to bend, to allow for change and mold
-
us. Am I there yet, brother sister, I'm not, But I'm
-
allowing myself, in my own challenges, to go through it. And I
-
see me changing, not the other person. I see me bowing down.
-
I see me learning to be a little bit more humble, a little bit
-
more merciful. Compassion, I tell you it. Losing my dad, I
-
just have a lord of compassion for anyone who loses your parents. I never
-
would know until I went through it myself. You bend a little, you
-
bow a little, you begin to absorb that Wow, that understands day whoa
-
and you stand with others me go through it in future, might have gone
-
through it. You have an understanding. God is one thing to work in
-
us, to mature us. The fire, the refining fire, the work
-
of changing that gold that was from raw to pure gold to pure silver is
-
a work of art. It's a beautiful work. But the impurities will come
-
out. Don't be afraid of the impurities. It will come out. He
-
will look at you and you go like, that's not me. You're right.
-
Let God do the work and just clean you out and clear you out,
-
and he will make you that pure gold. Amen. Oh, you
-
know the cake is to be enjoyed. But it went through the heat.
-
So you and I know that some in life we need to take the heat.
-
But when you're in it, I know sometimes you want to give up.
-
You want to throw in the towers. See, I don't want allah
-
can allah. No, I want to encourage us. When you're in the
-
heat, don't give up. For so you think of the beautiful cake you're
-
gonna get so my life would be like that. So I'm going through the
-
heat. I just need, you know, supportive hands and voices that say
-
I'm cheering you on and people will carry and I don't want to hear the
-
voices that are like, good for you. Okay, okay, yes it's
-
good for me, but can some hams. I'm encouragement, all right,
-
that it will just cheer us on, prey for one another, and cheer
-
each other on. Amen, it's it's it's gold. You are gold.
-
You are going to shine, and just be so clear, Amen for the
-
Lord. Why because we are meant to look like Jesus a little bit more
-
every day. Amen, hallelujah. Don't don't love your flesh life so much
-
that you want to stay as yourself. Love the way God has sees you.
-
He sees you as gold, as silver, he sees you as men
-
and women of substance. But to get there you go through these processes.
-
You have to go through these processes. Make room for God so that he
-
can have some space in your life. Amen, don't plan on I don't
-
know space, make room or give him that that space that change can happen.
-
And a number three, There will be transformation. Anything that heats,
-
the hits the heat, it will change. I pray for the better,
-
for the beauty that God has. But do we go through the tears?
-
Yes we do. Do we struggle with different things? Yes we do.
-
But if you are a child of God, Heaven rules. God in his
-
mercy will look upon you. God sees us. Are you willing to bend
-
and just say Okay, Lord, I surrender, have your way. Amen.
