You're listening to a message to go from acts church. We hope this message
-
will light up your day. I want us to turn please to the Bible
-
Book of John, and we're gonna read nine verses there, okay, verses
-
one to nine. After this, there was a feast of the Jews,
-
and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. No, there is in Jerusalem by the
-
sheep gate a pool which is called in Hebrew the Vesta, having five porches.
-
In these lay a great multitude of sick people, many sick people,
-
blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting. They were waiting for the moving of
-
the water. For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool
-
and stirred up the water. Then whoever stepped in first after the stirring of
-
the water was made well of whatever disease he had. Now, a certain
-
man was there who had an infirmity thirty eight years thirty eight years. When
-
Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he already had been in that condition
-
a long time, he said to him, do you want to be made
-
well? The sick man answered him, Sir, I've no man to put
-
me into the pool. When the water is stirred up, but while I
-
am coming, another steps down before me. Jesus then said, in verse
-
eight, rise, take up your bed and walk. And immediately, immediately
-
the man was made well, took up his bed and walked, And that
-
day was the Sabbath. Amen, hallelujah to the testimony that somebody walked.
-
I believe with all my heart this morning that you are also going to be
-
able in Jesus name, to do from today onwards what you used to not
-
be able to do. If you believe it's amen. I want to believe
-
that. I want to believe that miracles will happen. I want to believe
-
that if you were fearful, you will be fearful normal. That if you
-
were in doubt, that you will be in doubt normal. That if you
-
find you know it difficult to have financial breakthrough, that this would be your
-
last day. And that from today in Jesus name, God will open the
-
windows of heaven for you. That if you couldn't find a job for many
-
months now, that you will find the job, or rather the job will
-
find you. Amen. And that you if you have been sick in a
-
certain way, I pray today will be your day of healing. I pray
-
that those who couldn't walk will today be able to walk. The Bible says
-
in verse nine, John Chapter five, verse nine, Immediately, somebody say,
-
immediately, I want to believe for an immediate healing, an immediate miracle,
-
an immediate break true. If you want to receive his say, amen,
-
I want to believe that today is the day. And why not?
-
And why not because Jesus is the same today as he was yesterday and will
-
be the same forever. And Jesus is alive. Somebody say, amen,
-
he's alive. He's here with us. And the same God who healed that
-
man in John five is the same God who is with us even right now.
-
Amen. Now there are three things that Jesus said. In verse eight,
-
he said, rise, take up your bed, and walk. So
-
walk we have seen happen in verse night. Walk we've seen take place.
-
In verse nine. It's not a wish, it's not a hope. It's
-
been done, and I believe that it will be done also today for you.
-
It's done in Jesus name. But Jesus also said two other things.
-
He said rise, and he said take up your bed. So I wanna
-
just remind you that there are at least two prerequisites come on. Two prerequisites
-
before walk took place. So it's rise, take up your bed, and
-
walk. So before you can walk, there is the rise, and there
-
is the take up your bed. Are you all still with me? Hold
-
this in your thoughts, because we've got to study the Word of God together.
-
And I hope to encourage you in the power of the Holy Spirit to
-
believe that you will walk. But before you do, take heed to two
-
prerequisites. Okay, there are conditions to walking in God. His love is
-
unconditional. Men, but miracles and healings and supernatural wonders and signs and break
-
truths, they more often than not have God conditions. And one the condition
-
is to believe. That is a condition you must believe. And these signs
-
shall follow those who believe, not those who went to Bible school, nor
-
those who think they have been in church a long time, not those whose
-
father is a pastor. No, these signs shall follow those who There are
-
conditions. And many Christians forget sometimes because we think that God is an unconditional,
-
loving God. And that's true. And because you think he's like that,
-
then you think that He has to do everything for you. Now he
-
only does everything and anything for little babies. But we are never babies in
-
the faith for long. We must grow up, and the Lord expects us
-
to grow up. And it's a good thing to grow up because we get
-
to see more of God. In stepping out in faith and obeying his word,
-
you get to see more of God, and God wants us to see
-
more of him. Can I hear a good amen? Okay, so rise
-
take up your bed. Now, let's go into the early verses that we
-
read and do a study and see what could this mean? What could rise
-
take up your bed and walk mean? Now let's pick it up from verse
-
three. It says in these lay a great multitude of sick people. So
-
we know that at a pool called Bethesta there were many sick people, and
-
the Bible mentions some of them blind, lame, paralyze waiting. They were
-
waiting. I wonder how many of you in this room are waiting. You're
-
waiting. You pray maybe even faster, but you are in a waiting period.
-
Someone said before, many years ago, wait wai t maybe the most
-
difficult fall letter word you could ever hear. Nobody likes to wait. Wait.
-
It's like a bad word. In a modern day that we live in
-
today. Wait nobody was to wait. We want everything fast, we know
-
that. But the Bible says that those who wait on the Lord shall renew
-
their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run
-
and not be weary, they shall walk and not faith. There's a blessing
-
to those who wait on the Lord. So wait is not a bad words,
-
a good word, especially if you wait on the Lord, very very
-
important. So they were waiting, just like some of you, waiting for
-
what for the stirring of the water by the angel. So when we read
-
the Bible, the Bible will at least teach us one thing, and that
-
is in this particular reading that angels do heal. Okay, angels do heal.
-
So if anybody asks you do angels heal? You say, let me
-
turn you to John five. That the angel came once a year stir up
-
the water, and the first one to go in there will be heal.
-
The only thing is that the power of the angel is very limited because he
-
can only come once a year. He can stir up the water, and
-
the first person in not the second. I was wondering. Sometimes sometimes I
-
use my imagination when I read the Bible and trying to study it. How
-
two persons go in at the same time. You know those photo finish that
-
you have in the Olympics. Oh, both of them went in together,
-
same time, and we actually have a photo finish and look it's zero point
-
zero zero one two. You know, both of them will win the gold
-
medal. I wonder what happens, Okay, I don't know. I don't
-
know answer to that. Maybe because both of them at first, both then
-
will be healed. But even then he's only two. Very limited. How
-
many of you are very glad that today we don't have to just depend on
-
angels because Jesus Christ can heal us every day, ten times a day if
-
you have to. Jesus is unlimited. Again, God is unlimited, His
-
power is unlimited. God is here. That's probably why Moses said to God
-
when God says you go, God was angry with Israel, and God,
-
did you want to go with them? Remember this? And God says you
-
go, I will send my angel. And Moses was very very aware that
-
I don't just want an angel. I want you God. And that's why
-
Jesus name is Immanuel, God with us when he's with us. We have
-
a constant every day, every hour of the day, healer, provider,
-
protector, Amen, the one who is the master of breakthrough. The Bible
-
calls. Remember we used to have a camp twenty years ago. Joy.
-
We call him the Mob because he's the master of breakthrough. And we say,
-
welcome to the Mob camp. And everybody dresses gangsters where we came in.
-
The mob. He is the Mob, if you want to think about
-
it, the mafia of all mafias. He is the God of all God's,
-
king of all kings. He is the master of the universe. He
-
is great and greatly to be praised. There's no one like Jesus, no
-
one like Jesus. Amen. So the Angel, and everyone seems to know.
-
The Bible says a certain time he comes. So a certain time.
-
You can't like know the date the time, just like how many of you
-
can tell me when Christmas is this year? Wow? So if you don't
-
know, so how you think it's a true question. It's a twenty five
-
every year. And the Angel came at a certain time day they know,
-
and they knew when he came. So all these people were waiting. All
-
right, Okay, let me get to my point. Jesus walked into that
-
place called Bezesta five pools, I believe it's what he says, or five
-
pachas, and he looked around. I'm just now guessing because I wasn't there
-
anyone there. If you were there, please tell me and help me.
-
But I wasn't there. You weren't there, And I mean, I'm imagining,
-
and there you go again. Imagining, you know, really makes the
-
Bible come alive. Jesus is walking. He's a healer. He's the one
-
with a limited power. And the Bible says he saw one man who was
-
there. Well, he didn't quite say he was there for the d eight
-
years. He said that he was sick for the eight years. But Jesus
-
he said of the Lord that he knew that this man was in that condition
-
a long time, and he must have been there also a long time.
-
Again, not sure that that the eight years he was at the but a
-
long time. Okay, No, listen, I got a few questions,
-
you know, when I do Bible study Jesus walking, Why did he just
-
single out one man when everybody else needed healing as well? All right,
-
And the next thing Jesus does is that he goes up to this man who's
-
sick for thirty eight years, and he asked a question. What was a
-
question? Do you want to be healed? Now? I've gone to visit
-
people in hospitals many times, and I've walked from bed to bed right praying
-
for people. I don't usually ask her do you want to be healed?
-
Is there really a hospital now? The guy or the ladies are really on
-
the bed. Maybe with all right, The only question I might ask is
-
would you like me to pray for you? But do you want to be
-
healed? Is very rare, So we ask ourselves questions because when we ask
-
ourselves questions, we might get answers. Jesus went to one man, not
-
to the rest, and he asked the question, do you want to be
-
healed? Jim, he's doing that? You know, if I did it
-
to a lady who was sit on the bed, she might get up,
-
slapped me, and then go back down to the basins. Well, you're
-
asking, but the guy was in comma. His family members might slap me
-
and say, you know, this man is in comma. Does he want
-
to be healed? You know? Jesus asked the question so obvious, and
-
yet no obvious. Okay. So my thought is that this guy could have
-
been there so long that he may have started packing himself there and making himself
-
come. Thirty eight years is a long time. Now, people, how
-
many of you are thirty eight years older or younger than thirty eight? No?
-
Are you thirty? No? Exactly are Okay? Don't, don't,
-
don't review. Three years a long time, A long time. I questioned
-
things like, how do he eat? Who who fed him? Did they
-
bring him in and out? Or did he pop there? Okay, okay,
-
okay. Jesus looked around so many sick people, so one man.
-
What made the one man come across so obvious that he would go up to
-
him and say, do you want to be healed? I'm thinking the man
-
had a very comfortable bit. He first may have come our imagination, now
-
imagination, He first may have arrived at thirty eight years ago, maybe maybe
-
with a sleeping bag, because he wasn't thinking of staying there long. Now,
-
after three years, it could be a double bit with nice extra form.
-
He didn't go with a pillow first of all, because he didn't think
-
he would stay with the night. Now maybe he has five pillows and a
-
bolster, and then if you look carefully, he has a stove at the
-
side because he has to have something to bow water, because sometimes he likes
-
to have his tea while he waits for the angel. My imagine nation is
-
going, I know, let your imagine imagine nation. And maybe just maybe
-
he has a place. You know, he put a mobile basin and put
-
a huge container there where water can go through the pipes into the base so
-
he can watch his face. And maybe his power is how not just anything.
-
Maybe he bought a wreck, maybe he nailed it to a tree.
-
I don't know what he did. Maybe he had a cup with his toothbrush
-
and toothpaste. Do you know that sometimes if we're not careful, we can
-
park even in our pain. I say, we can park even in our
-
pain. And it doesn't look like he wants to be healed. That Jesus
-
had to ask him, do you want to be here? Because I see
-
you very comfortable. I see you very comfortable? Do you want to be
-
healed? And ladies and gentlemen, I want to tell you, because we've
-
lived life for some years now, some decades now, we've seen even in
-
our own selves that when we get into trouble or into pain or into hurts.
-
Sometimes we just like to park there, and sometimes we just like to
-
remain there. Even actually we want to be healed, We want to get
-
out of this, we want to be free. But no matter how we
-
try, it doesn't happen. And so after a while, like the woman
-
in the States many years ago, I heard this story. Twenty five years
-
ago, I heard the story. She was in a wheelchair, She was
-
in a bad way, and she went to church every Sunday to be healed
-
every Sunday. And you know, preacher after preacher, healer after healer,
-
prayer after prayer, no healing. But as she was going to church,
-
you know, she found the people loving her so much that they will carry
-
her from her car to her wheelchair, pushed her from the wheelchair to the
-
church. Before that, go for a drink, buy her a nice coffee,
-
and get her in. And she used to sit at the back because
-
nobody knew her. But now that more and more people know her from Sunday
-
to Sunday, they pushed her to the front. They even prepared a special
-
corner for her, and she knew it was her corner. Nobody else could
-
sit there. And as as as as people got to know her, they
-
even gave her money because you know, I knew that she wasn't working and
-
maybe she had a pension, but it was not enough, and so they
-
gave him money. In every week she was getting money, and so on
-
and so forth, and after about I don't know, twenty months of that,
-
she actually didn't think that she needed to be healed because the situation that
-
she was in drew attention, drew compassion. And sometimes we can be in
-
a situation whereby this ain't so bad, and yet God has a better thing
-
for you, a better way for you. And so the reason why I
-
know the stories because I read it from a book, and the reason why
-
the book had it recorded is because finally a preacher came and as he laid
-
hands on her, he stopped. He says, you don't even want to
-
be healed. This is just a tradition, This is just a show.
-
This is just you know, I do this religious act every Sunday. It
-
was, okay, I know this is quite tough. So I expect silence
-
because you're thinking. Because you're thinking, because you're thinking, you're going,
-
you're going like, can I be like that? Can I be at a
-
place whereby it's not about people giving up on you as much as you have
-
given up on yourself. And I find that, you know, many of
-
my believing friends, brothers and sisters can come to a place whereby they don't
-
want to be in that place, but something has taken over. And so
-
it's hard, ladies and gentlemen, to rise when you are down. In
-
fact, can I say this, It's easier to walk than to rise.
-
Walk was the third part of what Jesus says, and the men immediately walks.
-
But before he could walk, he had to rise. And I want
-
to tell you and remind you, because most of you know this, that
-
rising was the hardest. How many of you have failed before? Don't put
-
up your hands, because I know all of us must have one time or
-
the other, and some of us may have failed very miserably. You know
-
what it was the hardest. The hardest was to rise. You've been hurt,
-
you've been stepped on, betrayed, and you think yourself, I will
-
never be able to believe again. Trust again. It's very hard to rise
-
to be the same person before, if not better, very hard. How
-
many of you are still with me? It's tough to be betrayed, betrayed
-
by a friend, to be pushed around rejected. Yeah, Or maybe you
-
trusted somebody with money and then suddenly you know now you are poor, that
-
person is rich. I don't know. Or you trust, you trusted,
-
and you have ended up where you are today, and it's very hard to
-
rise. But rise you must, rise, you must. Alder Mabel says
-
that I sound like Star Wars. Rise you Muss says Yoda, ry is
-
you must? I thought about a statement I read not too long ago that
-
says that ships sink not because of the great waters around it, but the
-
water's in it. Imagine the ship right on the sea. You know how
-
much great waters they are all around, but it can't sing the ship.
-
The ship only sings because it allows water to come in. So all the
-
worst discouragement that you can ever get from outside I cannot sink. You know,
-
All the worst disappointments that you get on the outside can never sink you.
-
It is a stuff that you allow insight inside. Yes, of course
-
sometimes you can allow stuff to come from outside to India. I know that's
-
how it works. But you allowed it or or you you know, I
-
mean, I want to be fair to people who go like no pastor,
-
I didn't allow it no day. But you know, ada is still a
-
choice, is still a choice, and rising up is hard. And Jesus
-
says, before you can walk, you got to rise. You see,
-
there was a lame man seated at the gate called beautiful at chapter three,
-
and Peter and John said, silver and gold have I none, But what
-
I have I give to you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
-
Rise up. The first thing you must do before the miracle is always rise.
-
But this, this is a thing, this thing Peter and the Bible
-
says, actually put out his hand and help the men. Now, church
-
can help you, your homes can help you, Your leaders can help you,
-
your friends, your family can help you. But it's still, at
-
the end of the day, your choice, whether you understand or not.
-
Come on, am I with You're with me? Right? So you can
-
pull how many of you have seen it before? People pull you up and
-
then you just slum back down, not because of your feet or your your
-
inability on the external, but your inability on the internal. So I can
-
help you. In fact, when I'm preaching this, I hope to help
-
you. But at the end of the day, where you're seated, now
-
you've got to decide whether I rise or not. This is he important to
-
understand to rise. I remember my dad was he had stroke. In two
-
weeks, my father got out of the hospital and walked and the way he
-
walked was like he never had stroke. And the nurses, the doctors,
-
the therapist were so amazed at his recovery because he wasn't walking with a limb,
-
wasn't swinging his feet his hands. He just walked out. Even his
-
friends who saw him said, you know, there's nothing wrong with you,
-
and they didn't know that he had a bad stroke and he lost his speech.
-
He couldn't speak. So he looked fine, but he couldn't speak.
-
And I remember, you know, because every week it cost me about a
-
thousand and five for his therapy. He is twenty four years ago, so
-
a thousand and five every week is high for a man who didn't get a
-
salary because I was living by faith, no salary. But you know,
-
after a week, two weeks, the Lord just provided, you know,
-
he provided, he provided. I was able to pay. My father knew
-
that this hospital was you know, when you're when you're having stroke. Even
-
though you look like you don't have an understanding, you're actually your faculties are
-
all still working. Okay, you know, you're very clear, you're very
-
That's why they're so frustrated because they know they can button their shirt, but
-
they can't. So the why you know, they get really upset because I
-
can't do this. They know their name Bernard Chin, right, but his
-
name Bernard Chin, he knows, but he can't spell because he can't write
-
be. He forgot how to write B. But he knows. I know
-
that. So it's very frustrating because you have all the faculties, you have
-
all the understanding, but you can't manifest that. So my father was in
-
the hospital, I remember, and the therapist was trying to work on him.
-
And those of you who've ever seen stroke victims, or maybe you've been
-
a stroke victim before, you know that every movement is hard, very difficult,
-
very painful. So even putting your button right, you got to move
-
all the motor skills, are got to move the fingers to put it.
-
Did never take for grunted that you could put your button button this morning,
-
Never take from granted that you could put your button on this morning. You
-
know, sometimes that's by putting button. So I said thank you Lord,
-
thank you Lord. Because I had a dad who had couldn't. So I
-
said thank you Lord, thank you Lord, Thank you Lord. I go
-
to the toilet in the morning, I say, thank you a Lord.
-
The plumbing is too working. Halleui. Apprest goes through Hall Amen, praise
-
God, and I thank God for everything. I thank God for everything.
-
Never, never, never, never, never take for grunted. My father
-
was in hospital. The therapist who was working with him. I could hear
-
him scream even before I reached his room. And why because just lifting up
-
the hand like this is painful. He was screaming. And then he turned
-
to the therapist and he shake his head, shook his head and said,
-
like like enough, enough enough. And all the other patients in that particular
-
hospital same, you know, they're like enough. Some have been there for
-
two years. My dad has only been there for like one a half two
-
weeks. And I walked in and I looked at my dad. I just
-
had a miracle one thousand, five hundred ing it in my pocket. Someone
-
gave it to me when I was shaking his hand. I was shaking his
-
hand and gave me AE thousand, five hundred kit in an envelope. Not
-
knowing how much the bill will be, I opened it. I was able
-
to pay the bill for that week. You know God, I mean,
-
there's so many testimonies in my life of God's faithfulness. So by walking out,
-
and of course I don't want to show my dad that, you know,
-
it's it's it's heavy financially, but my dad looked at me and he
-
knew by then I read I was living by faith no salary, and so
-
I looked at him kind of are you okay, dad, you know,
-
and the therapist took you know, maybe two minutes of break and my father
-
really you know, shook his head saying no, and he looked at me,
-
and so I met I uh and uh, and he looked at me
-
and his face changed. His face changed to one of determination. I could
-
see it as a son, I could see and he looked at the therapists
-
and not at his head like one more time. And the reason is because
-
he knew that I couldn't afford this, and for the sake of his son,
-
for the sake of his son, I'm going to do this. I'm
-
going to and he was cured in two weeks. I saw another man and
-
next to him and he was still swinging his leg for two years. Right,
-
and and they explained to me. The therapists explained to me, is
-
because um, when you don't go to the therapy, you all you want
-
to do is live and walk. So when you walk, as long as
-
you can walk, you just swing your leg anyway else sweet because you want
-
to just get on with life. But the therapist is more uh into getting
-
you walking right so so so you cannot just see. But no to the
-
people who string their lit and swing their hands, they think, as long
-
as I can live, God is not about that. Also for us,
-
he's not just oh, just because you look okay, you can know you
-
can walk. No, he's about us walking straight, walking strong through the
-
Bible. He tells us things, but not in other mind. I can
-
live without it. And you're not you. You don't know how other people
-
are looking. They can see that you are a stroke with Queen. You
-
can't see it because as long as you can walk. But this life is
-
not about as long as you can walk. Is walking properly and strongly in
-
the lot. Okay, So anyway, my dad I saw to change it.
-
I saw to change see it right now, I on a prophesie to
-
you, as some people here in this room right now, in the next
-
so many minutes that we have. You got the old show. There's there's
-
got to be a clique that there's got to be a change of countenance.
-
There's got to be like, it's me. My son can pay the bill,
-
the doctor can try to help me, but at the end of the
-
day, it's me. So the therapist said, Kenneth, I have not
-
seen this recovery in two weeks in all my patients, I guess because she
-
said, all the other patients can afford being in a hospital for two boy
-
years. Yeah. I saw their cars coming in. Okay, big cars,
-
nice cars and all that card thing that the children had money to pay
-
this bill. This this guy didn't have. And my father knew it.
-
My father made a decision, a decision to rise, to rise amen,
-
no excuses, No, my mother dislah, my father disa. You don't
-
understand my grandfather law this you know, my friend law rejected me. No.
-
No, it is the waters around you can't sink you, is the
-
waters in sight of you. You gotta understand that that's why the Lord keeps
-
coming, and he doesn't. The Lord doesn't save our body. No,
-
he came for our soul. He came for our mind, our heart.
-
The body will go down to the ground, and you will get a new
-
body when you're in heaven. It's not about the body. It's not even
-
about the spirit, because the spirit it comes from God, and the Bible
-
says in Ecclesiastics twelve seven, it says the spirit will go straight back to
-
God. It is the soul that he came to save, because the soul
-
is you. The soul is the real you. The body is not the
-
real you, because you know you've got this kind of body at twelve and
-
then twenty four and then eighty four you see the body change, the body
-
with all the wrinkles. Now it's not really you. So yet we spend
-
so much time before the mirror, you know, taking care of just this
-
thing that we think is us. And then this one will go down to
-
the grave and then you become us. We gotta take care and spend more
-
time into this is me, this is me. And so there's a scripture
-
in Psalm forty three, verse five. Psalm forty three, verse five.
-
It says, why are you cast down all my soul? And why are
-
you disquieted? Within? Me? Hope in God, for I shall yet
-
praise him the help of my countenance and my God. You know, when
-
I look at the scripture, it says, why are you cast down all
-
my soul? You know what? And who? The person is talking himself.
-
He's saying, come on, Kenneth, why are you looking like this?
-
Why are you so down? I mean a thousand people get encouraged me,
-
but the most important encouragement is me speaking to my own heart, my
-
own soul, my own to come on, Kenneth, enough, come on,
-
rise up, come on live, come on, be happy? Why?
-
Because happiness has always been a choice. It's never been a feeling like
-
love. Someone ask a question before no, h if I don't love my
-
job, does it mean I'm in the wrong job? I think to myself.
-
Love is a choice, man. So every day you go to your
-
job, you know you can love your job by choosing. I choose to
-
love my job. If you all go by feeling zunia, which job is
-
good for you? So I don't know. You want to be an astronaut?
-
I don't know. So we make a choice every day to say I
-
will be happy, and I will. God has given me this job.
-
I will thank him for this job, because many people don't have jobs.
-
You choose to love, and when you choose to love, just like you
-
choose you love your wife, your husband, even for better, for words,
-
for richard, for poorer, in sickness and in heather till divorce.
-
Don't know not to divorce till death. Amen. Don't go at your own
-
vows. Someone said before now that the young people these days are many of
-
them writing their own vows. Uh. And in in in an ex church,
-
we allow people to write their own vows, but we ask them to
-
still finish with the traditional vows because of the new vowser is very very nice
-
and touchy. And I will swim the longest river for you, and the
-
crocodiles will come and uh, you know, okay, But there's no for
-
better for worse. And that's why a lot of divorces are happening because we
-
didn't meet a commitment too. Even the worst of you, I still love
-
you. There's this, ain't no mountain high enough, ain't no value until
-
the fuller. The wife lost three teeth. I didn't say for better for
-
worse. Okay, sorry for Richard for poorer. You know sometimes when people
-
make the vowser these days, because I also lead people in their vows very
-
not they should not for Richard for poorer, should not until no job do
-
we part? Are you also? You me? This is very very important.
-
Rise, So speak to yourself. Hey, how many have you know
-
that in the scripture they all wanted to stone David. David's all men wanted
-
to stone him, and he, the Bible says, strengthened himself in the
-
Lord. What did he did? Come on, David, I know they
-
all want to kill you. They all want to stone you. I know,
-
David, Come on you. The great ocean ain't gonna sink you if
-
you don't sink yourself. And then he turns around and he leads the same
-
men who are wanting to stone him to victory. Can you ever imagine leading
-
people who hate you, people who hate you in the office, leading them
-
into the next big contract? Who said they want to follow you in the
-
first place. But as a leader, you've got to beeble lead yourself before
-
you lead others. Eyboy, say okay, oh, this is important,
-
it's important. I'm spending a long time on it because I tell you what
-
Jesus came. Do you want to be healed? Do you know there's a
-
choice? Do you want to be healed? Isn't it an obvious Lord,
-
I'm in the right place at the right time. Yeah, but do you
-
the right spirit? You can be at the right place at the right time.
-
You can. Everyone can be here, and this is the right place,
-
this is the right time. Today, Sunday amazing. Can you find
-
a better place than church in the presence of God? No, Sunday especially,
-
right place, right time, right people, write message, write songs,
-
and everything is right. But you can go wayte too wrong? Why?
-
And then worse still? If this carries on, You're gonna be very
-
cynical. And I've tried everything already. I've tried the best churches. I've
-
tried the best preachers, I've tried the best whatever. The best book they
-
have out there in Glad sounds okay. The len I've tried it. Have
-
you tried to rise? Have you tried to rise? Have you tried to
-
rise? Amen? My father rose, I could see it in his face.
-
Change turns to the therapist one more time, and he not screamed.
-
He screamed, but he had purpose and he had passion, and finally the
-
result, just in two weeks, ladies and gentlemen, a miracle happened.
-
But a miracle came with a condition of I want this, I need this.
-
I can't continue to remain like this. I can't. I cannot blame
-
sometimes I when I look at my weight, But of course I blame Malasia.
-
Right if I was leaving some somewhere else. Now, all those of
-
us who are trying to lose weight, of course we blame blame Malasia.
-
Who else to blame? Malasia's fault to have sort of such good food,
-
Malaysia's fault. Pinang Pina himself. Enough for Pinang created half of this.
-
The a half was equal because I had to stop by when you're when you
-
drive to now you got to by epo. Okay, no you don't.
-
You just so these days I lost about eight kilograms since you turned. And
-
it was also for my for my health. And and these days I go
-
like, okay, I like that, but it's you know, food,
-
it's actually tastes me. You don't have to finish it. One so I
-
learn a few things about losing number one, Share everything, share everything.
-
Number two, get ready to waste some food. I know I always what
-
to do. I did. I only needed that much, but the food
-
I gave me that much. Now, of course, if there's no one
-
around to share, I go like okay, because otherwise you think no wasted
-
lie. I know the people in China's suffering, people in Africa's suffering,
-
people in Timbucto. You know, now, don't worry about it. My
-
food won't reach Timbakto. So don't be so sad that wasted food won't reach
-
Africa. But you got to care for yourself now. Of first, if
-
they can give you half that but they don't, Oh can I have half
-
a cocacola? They don't give you that, right, they give you the
-
full amount of the food. Anyway, Why am I talking about losing?
-
Great But you know you blame right? Is this person? Is that person?
-
You don't know how to say. It's my school, is my teacher?
-
Is my right? And you know Jesus always teaches us to make the
-
best of everything he gives us. In every place we are. We don't
-
go to the best places. We make the worst places. The best you
-
those of you are getting getting married. You're not gonna get the best husband
-
or the best wife immediately. You know, they become that. They become
-
that. Hey, if you can get that ready made, that ready made,
-
perfect husband, other people want knows all, and the first one into
-
the pool will get it. Hallelujah. Amen, Rise now, he says,
-
take up your bit. I used to not understand this, but Jesus
-
said it two or three times, two or three different people, two or
-
three different occasions. He expects you before you walk. Rise. Yes,
-
Lord, I'm reason, Yes Lord. Come on, it's a brand new
-
day. I believe I have faith. Come on, Kenneth Chin. You
-
are loved by God. People outside I call you ugly. But as long
-
as God things, I'm beautiful. People on the outside my thing, I'm
-
a failure. It's God things. I'm you know, successful in Him.
-
Why because I'm a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, his own special people.
-
Amen. First, what was that first? Peter two nine? Speak
-
to yourself. Stop being so down and stop being so depressed. Okay,
-
let's talk about depression for what and also other stuff that goes on in your
-
life. Any time you're down, you always look for the bit anytime you're
-
in pain, you look for the bid. In English, sometimes we say
-
I'm resigned, meaning to my bid means you're gonna go asleep. But some
-
of us do really resign from life itself. People who are depressed, God
-
bless them and God help them. But you know I've seen them, and
-
I've also been there before. You know what happens, right, somebody,
-
somebody is this? When the morning comes, you wish it was night because
-
you're so depressed. Oh, nighttime come? Then when you wake up at
-
night, who morning come? You know you want the morning to come when
-
his night? When you want the night to come? When his morning?
-
I said it before, and the bid really becomes your excuse. So I
-
want to say this to you. Are that you and I will start to
-
live excuses if you are not careful. So what did Jesus say? Jesus
-
asked a question, do you want to be healed? What's the immediate answer
-
from the man? I think it's found in verse five of US six.
-
He could have answered a very simple question, do you want to be healed?
-
And answer is yes. But after all this while he's not sure.
-
He's not sure because that would mean that he has to give up his nice
-
space at the corner with the double bit, and you know whatever else he
-
made. I have a I have a friend, a younger friend than me,
-
around younger friend to me, and he was studying in the International Medical
-
University. His name is Kenneth as well, so he's now doctor Kenneth,
-
one of the top doctors in town. And doctor Kenneth used to study for
-
ten twelve hours in the IMU library. But because he was a senior,
-
he had the whole table to himself. We're about four to eight chess,
-
all right, and no student would touch it because it belongs to Senior Kenneth.
-
And Senior Kenneth spends ten to twelve hours there, and so the four
-
chairs is for him to sleep, get up, read sleep, get up
-
read sleep. Okay, so this is the thing. Everybody who goes into
-
the library knows that Connor. And you you you're not going to give up
-
that connor so easily, because I worked hard to get to that cornor.
-
And this man was asked a question, do you want to be healed?
-
He has no answer because he's not sure. Now he's not sure, but
-
he could give an excuse. The answer was an excuse. I have no
-
man to put me in, no man to put me in. So it's
-
always going to be someone else, someone else who didn't do or should do
-
is always gonna be someone else. But I want to tell you right now,
-
Jesus is here in this room, right beside you, if not before
-
you, and he loves you, and he can see you in a place
-
whereby you have gotten overly comfortable, to the place where you can't even answer
-
whether you still want this or not, whether you still want this marriage or
-
not, whether you still when this kid's not and there for adoption or you
-
you you you still want to be part of this church, and you're not
-
sure. You once were sure, but you know so much disappointment and this
-
discouragement has come your way that now you're not sure, and you've you've parted
-
yourself in your pain, and you found comfort in your crisis. You found
-
comfort in your crisis, and you don't want to give up of this particular
-
status that you have now because the status brings you a lot of attention.
-
Status status actually maybe sometimes even gives you an excuse to remain as you are.
-
Why is this guy's too so angrier? Because you don't understand ten years
-
ago, da da da da da da da, this is what happened.
-
So it gives you the justification to remain like a papaya face. You understand,
-
and then from ten years you've become twenty years or twenty years ago,
-
because you're still angry, right, still sulking. But you see, the
-
day you give up the excuse is the day you have to also stop sulking,
-
because now you know more, you don't have any more excuse to south
-
and to be angry and to be and to be unkind with your words.
-
So a lot of people don't want to give up the excuse. So he
-
said, there is no man to put me in a pool, and as
-
soon as the angel comes to the water, someone jumps inside before me.
-
I was thinking to myself that if you were there for a long time,
-
shouldn't you part yourself next to the pool? Just rolling now? Yeah,
-
you already know the time, you know, twenty fifth of December coming Eddie
-
say yeah, but he cannot walk. You know you're senior. Now ask
-
somebody for senior privileges? Can you please carry me to the site there?
-
You know, I just want to roll in when the when the water is
-
there. No, he's probably parked by the side there. He doesn't really
-
want to give up his position. He's nice and comfortable, and every year,
-
ladies, lemen, he will have the same excuse. Yes, won
-
every year for the next ten years, twenty years. Jesus went to him.
-
My other question is is now, why did he not touch other people
-
there? And then I think about the woman with the issue of blood.
-
The woman with the issue of blood went towards him. Everyone who's ever wanted
-
that healing, the breakthrough has gone to find him. So he knows that
-
it was that man that he needed, he needed to find. And today
-
in this room, there are some of you who have lost a lot of
-
hope and a lot of you know whatever it takes to have you look for
-
Jesus and find him and reach out to him. So the Lord is here
-
to find you. He's here to find you. And in that place,
-
in that bedsta he found a man who couldn't find him because everyone else in
-
the Bible that was healed by Jesus, they pushed through the crowd just to
-
get to him, just to touch the hem of his garment. And I'm
-
telling you right now, everyone as long as you are reasoned within you,
-
but believe you will be here. But there's some where are either place where
-
by I've given up impass that you don't understand, and I'm not here to
-
knock you. I'm not here to say oh because you're weak, and no,
-
I understand what he means. I understand what he means. And so
-
he's here to find you because he believes you don't have what it takes to
-
find him. And you can appear again at the right This man was at
-
the right place, right time, and yet still can miss it. So
-
as we draw to a close, you know, I think about the bid,
-
and I think about how when we're tired we go to the bid,
-
and some of you are tired, you go to bed when you're depressed.
-
The bid is your comfort when you're down, discourage, when you're crying on
-
your pillow, is your bed, and the Lord says to us, pick
-
up your bed that has all these years been pulling you down. I'll end
-
with a quick testimony. Happened about a few years ago. I was taking
-
the pandemic years to study on healing and deliverance and casting out demons. So
-
two and a half years of studying because I couldn't go and practice on people
-
right because it was pandemic. So you want to go in business someone's house,
-
but you're not allowed to visit. So I was studying, I was
-
watching. I watch probably about one hundred and twenty videos from Africa, you
-
know, seeing great men of God heal people from Korea Jongi Cho, you
-
know, back all the way back to the old days of Kenneth Hagen or
-
Roberts, you know, William Bradham and so and so forth. So I'm
-
studying, studying, studying, siding, taking notes. Then I go to
-
the Bible. I read all of Jesus healing and taking down notes, so
-
three hundred and seven notes of just learning from the Lord. But I had
-
to practice, but there was no one to practice on. So the Lord
-
made me sick. Okay, So the Lad says, you want to practice?
-
You really? One day? I said, yeah, so sulling me
-
pain out of blue and why are you immediately me pain? So how I
-
had to have to have to have to practice in the name of Jesus and
-
all that blood of the Lamb. So some will leave me in five seconds,
-
some will leave me in five days. But every sickness that came upon
-
me in two years is not dead. It's left because the Lord also wants
-
you to practice. So I I didn't embrace sickness that I got. Okay,
-
training time, Oh my grains, and I never get my grain one,
-
no sunning up my grain. So I said, okay, right now,
-
okay, So yeah, what to do? Lord? So he's taught
-
me a lot of things. One day, I was in my prayer room,
-
and in my prayer room at that time was a bid. And I
-
decided to just lay down my bid. And suddenly, after about three minutes,
-
I try to get up. I couldn't get up. You know,
-
I was pain all over in my body, especially my spine. I'm like,
-
what I go on the bid? Okay? You know where to come
-
up is in pain. So I would like, I'm trying to I'm trying
-
to even roll our bit is painful. I'm like, what's going on?
-
Okay? And I know anything to be sudden when night is spiritual. Okay,
-
anything sudden is usually ninety nine spiritual. So I said, Lord,
-
and the load says, you get yourself up. See a lot of times
-
that Christian cannot get yourself up there. But we must learn to get ourselves
-
up because there's nobody. I thought myself, maybe text Bassandra, you know,
-
demand that she comes back because I'm her loving husband, for better,
-
for worse, for Richard, for poor, in sickness and in hell,
-
come home now. I need you. And the Lord says, no,
-
you get yourself up as maybe an ambulance. That was how bad it was.
-
And then says, come on, don't be a c c. Okay,
-
oh no, the Lord sometimes talk to me, and that I didn't
-
talk to you. He talks to you very gentle one. Right, the
-
Lord that talks to you very gentle one and very I know, I know
-
with me, he's a bit like, you know, strong, what is
-
this here? So I'm on with a bit, oh Lord, you know.
-
And and it was pain enough, Mabel, do you have tears coming
-
on my eyes? I'm like, how can this be? I just go
-
onto this bid for three or four minutes, you know, five maybe at
-
the most, And and then the Bible the verse came, Rise, Kenneth,
-
take up your bed and walk. I don't think I'll be but Kenned
-
is double bit la but rise take away a bit and I know it's spiritual.
-
So I tried and cannot because it's painful, so I said, I
-
said, Lord, I can't, And the lot of says Rice, Rice.
-
As soon as you rise, you a walk. The walking is the
-
easy part, the rising. So there's so many excuses. They came to
-
my mind. Cannot lah, you'll break your back, that you'll make it
-
worse. Slah, you know, remember the story, and then there will
-
always be a story, always be a story that you can remember of your
-
auntie, your uncle, your grandfather. You know who actually tried and then
-
broke his whole backboard. Fear, because fear is very important for the enemy.
-
Fear the enemy. Without fear, he has no power. So fear
-
has to come in. So finally he says, Kenneth, and I kick
-
you know the bid head hands. I can't you know? The hands are
-
started reaching out to me. Of course, I think this is all spiritual.
-
But the head started coming and pulling my body back like suddenly, I
-
can you can imaging your folm your film to turn in your hands. No,
-
no, I didn't see the hands that it probably didn't happen, but
-
it happens spiritually, like pulling back, and the bid started to answer it
-
on my behalf the basically, no, he cannot. He cannot because if
-
he stands up, you know he will fall down and be worse. And
-
you know what, he cannot. And the Lord says said to me,
-
Kenneth, I'm not going to listen to your better and neither are you going
-
to listen to your bet you get up, I said, Lord, he's
-
probably going to be one of those try my best to push myself up and
-
die type. No, okay, this would be my last two drama.
-
This would be my last push, the last of them weakens. You know,
-
this would be my last push in okay, And seriously, usually the
-
Lord gives you at least at one strength to get up, and when you
-
get it, you better get up. So I waited for a while,
-
waited for the right time, like, how do I do I get up?
-
This way? Do I get every sod? I'm thinking my mind,
-
do I get up straight away? But people tell me don't get up straight
-
away? Because so okay, okay, A lot of people say, people
-
say, people say, people say, anti anc say, and neighbors say,
-
you know, boss say, in order to say say say, And
-
then the most botn is what does he say? And he said get up,
-
so I keep you know, I just okay. I'm like, I
-
know I'm going to hurt myself badly when I get up, But I hear
-
the voice the Lord, and something rolls up within me. Has to first,
-
he has to, he has. And I got up. As soon
-
as I got up from bitter no pain, all gone, all gone,
-
I'm like, hey, what was it all about? And the and the
-
Lord allows us to go to test like that. Now this is just pain,
-
pain, pain, pain, pain. But it was all in the
-
mind. It was all attacked by the enemy. And actually he's a big
-
lios. Oh, the devil is a big liars. So so he tries
-
to and the bid, the bid helps, you know, And so I
-
you got to today as I close, you've got to find yourself getting out
-
of your bed, getting out of your bid of excuses. You've got to
-
and and and and and all kinds of words will come into your mind to
-
tell you don't do it, don't do it, don't do it. But
-
the word of the Lord must be the one that kinds that that encourages you
-
to do it. The reason why I'm doing this, uh chapter and this
-
message, if it's called the Lord told me that right here, right now,
-
today, people are going to walk immediately. Okay. So whatever whatever
-
that you couldn't do before, financially, whatever, marriage, children, okay,
-
I'm going to say to you right now, all you need to do.
-
Your part is to rise up whatever excuses you've been living by. Just
-
take up that bed, take up that bed and walk. I think I
-
totally before about the young elephant. So baby elephant rope around the lake.
-
Elephant couldn't move. So as the years went by, because the elephant tried
-
to get away, couldn't get away. Frustration, frustration, frustration, frustration,
-
frustration leads to giving up, giving up, giving up, Let's not
-
even try, let's not even try. And so when the baby elephant becomes
-
really big, they just put a thin rope. And sometimes even that string
-
is a string. They do this in India. And so the trainer was
-
asked, why do you just put a small little string, And they think
-
the stringer and they don't really even tight tightly on a pole, and and
-
and and it's just this, right, the baby elephant tried all these days
-
to get away, they can't. So now when the big elephant tries to
-
even move and feels just a little tugging on the feet, and in the
-
elephant's mind is I'm I'm bound. I realized the rope is not an external
-
rope. The rope is an internal rope. And how many of us sometimes
-
feel bound because you know that your father had this problem, your grandfather had
-
this problem. So a little bit, a little bit manifests in your body
-
and you're go like, oh no, I'm gonna die of cancer. Oh
-
no, I'm gonna die of Parkinson's. Oh no, I'm gonna die of
-
no No. I pray today, as we pray for people, that God
-
will remove the bondages from our minds. Right Rice, We hope you've been
