  1. You're listening to a message to go from ex Church. We hope this message

  2. will light up your tea. Well, let's look at John two, chapter

  3. one to eleven. If your dad can't hear, good Amen. I like

  4. to read the Word of God. I only have to read the main text

  5. and then we're gonna break it down and learn something from it. So let's

  6. read together. On the third day, there was a wedding in Cana of

  7. Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Now, both Jesus and

  8. his disciples were invited to the wedding, And when they ran out of wine,

  9. the mother of Jesus said to him, they have no wine. Jesus

  10. said to her woman, what does your concern have to do with me?

  11. My hour has not come. His mother said to the servants, whatever he

  12. says to you, do it now. There were six water parts of stone

  13. according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing about twenty or thirty

  14. gallons apiece. And Jesus said to the servants fill the water pots with water

  15. and filled them to the brim. And he said to them draw some out

  16. now and take it to the master of the feast. And they took it.

  17. And when the master of the feast or the mc had tasted the water

  18. that was made wine and did not know where it came from. But the

  19. servants who had drawn the water knew. The master of the feast called the

  20. bridegroom, and he said to him, every man at the beginning sets out

  21. the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then they served

  22. the inferior. You have kept the best the good wine until now. So

  23. Jesus was the one who came up the phrase saving the best to last.

  24. Amen. And this beginning of signs Jesus did in cana of Galley and manifested

  25. his glory, and disciples believed in him. Amen. He got taken our

  26. notes at the title of my message today is called I need a miracle.

  27. I need a miracle. I'm not sure how many of you see it here,

  28. need a miracle. I'm not even sure how many of us here are

  29. comfortable with the word miracle. You know where I've been based for I think

  30. the chapters says the last seven years. It's more than eight years, because

  31. we actually we went in twenty fifteen and you know and a half years or

  32. something like that. My math is not good. That's why I did law.

  33. And you know, you know, we in the in the UK,

  34. when you you talk to certain segments of people you say that, hey,

  35. I believe in miracles, they'll look at you and they think that you're stupid,

  36. you know, because for them it's like, you know, we believe

  37. in science and when you say miracle it sounds like fairy tale but bye bye.

  38. And sometimes we get uncomfortable, you know, we go like, I

  39. do need a miracle, but but I don't know do miracles still happen anymore?

  40. But on the other hand, sometimes we tell people that we need a

  41. miracle and uh. And some people they are Christians, but maybe they come

  42. from a bit more traditional background. They can even scuff and go like what

  43. miracle, you know, and then they begin to prejudge you and think that,

  44. oh, you're some self, you know, you're which is a flaky

  45. you know, all kind of like chasing after miracle church. Uh and and

  46. and so maybe some of us here, even hearing this I need a miracle,

  47. you know, you go like, I'm not sure if this is for

  48. me, and I want you to know that we need miracles. You know,

  49. the Bible says, actually I think it's the first Courritani, chapter one,

  50. twenty three. You know, it talks about how, you know,

  51. when we appreciate the Gospel, we appreciate Christ crucified. And to certain segments,

  52. like like the Jewish people, that's like a stumbling block. That's like,

  53. I come on, what the's silly, that's ridiculous. And to the

  54. Greeks is foolishness. And in the same way, you know, when we

  55. say that, hey, I need a miracle, certain segments will think that

  56. we're childish. They think that we go to the wrong type of church.

  57. They think that we're immature Christians for still chasing after these things. You know,

  58. we don't need miracles anymore. We just need the word of God.

  59. On the other hand, some people think that, you know, oh you

  60. are just Christians are out of touch. They are loopy people. You know,

  61. they believe in aritys and and I want to summarize what miracles really mean.

  62. Miracles at the end of the day mean this. It's trusting, believing,

  63. and asking God to do what only he can do. That's that's it.

  64. That's what a miracle is. It's something that only God can do.

  65. And I'm not sure about you, but but but I need a miracle.

  66. There are things in my life that only God can do, and I want

  67. him to do it. You know, there's this this couple needed a miracle.

  68. They were they were, you know, at their old wedding and the

  69. resources are running out, and then they needed God to do something that only

  70. he can do. How about yourself? Is there something in your workplace that

  71. that only God can do? Maybe you serve under a boss who you think

  72. is a tyrant. You know, initially you were standing here going like,

  73. well, please God, I got a job, and then first second week

  74. you go like, God, why did you put me in hell? You

  75. know, I thought I only go to hell, you know if I don't

  76. repent or you know, after I die, Why am I in living hell?

  77. Why is my boss demonic? And God? Only you can do what

  78. you can do. You either need to change him or you need to change

  79. me. And for some of us, you know, it's it's our I

  80. don't know. We're going through something. Maybe emotionally we're at a bad place.

  81. Maybe financially we're at a bad place. Maybe physically health wise we are

  82. at a bad place. The doctor says, there's normal, hope he's gone

  83. for doctor after doctor, treatment after treatment, and they say that, hey,

  84. you're gonna manage your expectations. And so the doctors have given up hope

  85. on you. And maybe you are at a place where where only God can

  86. do. Only God can can make that dream come true. Only God can

  87. can can help you overcome that addiction. Now you come out here to be

  88. prayed for. Nothing happens, passit, candid pressure, nothing happens. Only

  89. God can do what God can do. And so I want us today to

  90. start getting comfortable. I want us today to start getting a little bit more

  91. bold and confident. It's saying that, you know what, I'm not a

  92. sham of being a people that acknowledges that there are things in my life that

  93. only God can do and I want him to do them. Amen. You

  94. know, after all, Christianity, it's not built on the teaching. The

  95. Bible is built around the miracle. The reason why we believe in the Bible

  96. is because Jesus rules the grave. It's a miracle. And so let us

  97. not become too clever for God, and let us continue to have child like

  98. faith and say that God, I can't you trust you. Only you can

  99. touch my family, only you can save my marriage. Only you can heal

  100. my disease. Only you can help me overcome. If there's somebody here who

  101. needs a miracle, can hear good? Amen? Amen. And so I

  102. want us to become people that are, like I said, confident and bold

  103. to ask for miracles. But to give us some right context, it's also

  104. important for us to understand the purpose of miracles. Should we be bold to

  105. us, Yes, but we should also ask being mindful of the purpose.

  106. So what are the purposes of miracles? It's actually shown here in the scripture

  107. that just fat in John chapter two, verse eleven, it says that the

  108. science were manifested so that God can be glorified. And so you know,

  109. if you see it here and you're wondering, you know, I really need

  110. God to move in. But is this something that that I need to get

  111. better at, I need to get more disciplined at, or or is this

  112. something that I need to trust God with the way to look at it is

  113. does this glorify God? That's this glorified God, that's my healing. Glorify

  114. God, that's my increement. Glorify God. Do I do I really need

  115. to have a boyfriend to glorify God? And say it's no. But that

  116. doesn't mean you don't You can't ask us, but understand that there is a

  117. purpose, that's a purpose to your miracle. And so if you truly believe

  118. that, you know that's that's that can be a powerful god glorifying testimony behind

  119. a miracle. Then friend, boldly ask us and a shamely ask, and

  120. keep asking, and the Bible says that you shall receive. The other thing

  121. that we're gonna come to grips with is also the motivation behind the asking.

  122. You know, uh, is it okay to ask for miracles? Yeah,

  123. if if the purpose is right. But but here's something I want us to

  124. catch us. Well, don't just ask for yourself. Don't just be motivated

  125. by your own breakthrough. You know, this story started not because the bride

  126. or groom who had the problem asked Jesus for the solution. No, no,

  127. no, The story started when a concerned by standard. Maybe Mary was

  128. a neighbor, maybe Mary was a distant relative, but Mary was the one

  129. that asked on behalf. And this is so important for us to catch us

  130. the church, because when we gather together on a Sunday, you know,

  131. we come here to worship God. But Church, I want you know,

  132. is God's idea. This is not a man made institution. This is a

  133. Jesus idea. He says he will build his church. And what you need

  134. to understand is that church is a place where become together and and and we

  135. we become each other's intentional found family. You know, we live in a

  136. world today where they are broken families, broken marriages, and and and church

  137. is God's answer to them. God is saying that to the broken world.

  138. Yeah, things break apart, but why don't you come to a place where

  139. I'm here to put things together again. I put strangers together and I call

  140. them family. And this is a place where we're meant to cover each other.

  141. And whenever you come here to pray for each other, whether you're in

  142. front or actual seats, don't just pray for them on a Sunday. But

  143. but why don't you become each other's armor bearers. Why don't you become each

  144. other's brothers keepers. And let's not just believe for supernatural Sunday, which is

  145. good, but let us also ask on behalf of each other for miracles on

  146. a Monday. And and let us be people who will boldly ask and say

  147. that God. Praise God. I'm so graced by you, and I'm in

  148. a season of abundance. But Lord, you've blessed me to be a blessing.

  149. So so while I am in no need of a miracle right now,

  150. it doesn't mean that the people around me don't need. So, Lord,

  151. help me not to sleep on my brother, my sister. Let me ask

  152. on their behalf. And the thing is this, When you ask on other

  153. people's behalf, miracles happen. Miracles happen. The Bible is full of this.

  154. You know, Gyrus that the Jerusalem you know learned teacher ask on behalf

  155. of his very ill daughter. The Roman SENSI ask on behalf of his very

  156. ill servant. You know, the miracles happen when people ask on behalf,

  157. when they do on behalf, when they volunteer on behalf. The five flows

  158. and two fish will not happen if Andrew didn't present on beh half. You

  159. know of the small boy, the fire flows, and the two fish.

  160. So, friends, I want us to get comfortable with miracles. I want

  161. us to get bold in asking. But let us not just ask for ourselves,

  162. or maybe just one more thing before I give you treat my three points

  163. for today. Maybe for some of us here, when you talk about miracles

  164. and and and and trusting God to do something that only he can do,

  165. we get a little bit uncomfortable because we immediately become reminded or stuck at a

  166. place of like, God, why did you even put me in this place?

  167. Why am I even at a place where I'm even in need of a

  168. miracle? You know what I'm saying, You know, because sometimes we get

  169. triggered, and we get triggered by bye, by the why, and we

  170. can't get over the why and and and and I want you to know,

  171. friends, you know, the Bible doesn't always gives us the why. In

  172. fact, in John chapter nine, if not mistaken, you know, there

  173. was a mind that there was a man who was born blind, and people

  174. were asking Jesus, hey, this person who's blind, what was what was

  175. the deal? Did he sin? Or do his parents sin? And Jesus

  176. never bothered them to give them a why. But Jesus told them the what

  177. what was it for? And the what was it for? Is so that

  178. God can be glorified through him. And so for some of us here again,

  179. you know, miracles, you know, and get me. Mini get

  180. triggered and said, yeah, you know, yeah, you know, I

  181. know maybe and if you're really honest, you might even resent God and you

  182. think that it was God who even put you in a place where you're in

  183. need, you know. And so for you it's not just all miracles.

  184. Is is God doing what only he can do. But but for some of

  185. us here were in so much pain that we think that miracles is God fixing

  186. what he started. But when you know, that's not how God works.

  187. Why we don't know why? It could be a ripple effect of history.

  188. It could be a ripple effect of society. It could be a ripple of

  189. effect of a fallen world that we end up why and know? Why?

  190. Did my love on ask away? Why? And my still dropped us?

  191. Why? And I still single? Why? Why? Why? Why?

  192. Why? God doesn't always give us the why because we can't handle the why,

  193. but he assures us of the what. If you would trust him,

  194. if you will go to him, he can turn your your morning into dancing.

  195. Amen. He can turn your death into a resurrection. You know why,

  196. because we serve a miracle God. Amen. And so with that right

  197. framework, let us now look at three. I believe three ingredients that Scripture

  198. just showed us on how we should approach God. If you believe your cause

  199. is just, and you believe that this this, this thing I'm asking for

  200. is unselfish and he will glorify God. Or maybe you're asking on behalf of

  201. someone, or maybe you're asking you know, just by faith that I want

  202. us to follow up by these three things, the three further ingredients for miracles

  203. in your life. Point number one humility. Humility. You know, Mary

  204. asked, And if we are to be honest, if you look at the

  205. way Jesus unset it didn't sound very nice. You know, it wasn't rude,

  206. but it wasn't very nice. And and you know, but despite that,

  207. Mary didn't get angry, she didn't get bitter, she didn't give up.

  208. She she understood her place. And so while we are to boldly ask,

  209. we should also remember our place, you know, because Jesus's reply to

  210. her was this that, Hey, what's got to do with me? By

  211. time? It's not yet. And for some of us here this is God's

  212. work. For you. You're believing God for a miracle, and God is

  213. not saying no, He's just saying and not yet, and sometimes we get

  214. so offended by the not yet, not understanding that and not yet it's not

  215. a never, And God was wanting us to know, Hey, I love

  216. you, but I'm most of God, I know better than you, and

  217. so you know I love you. I want to be there. But but

  218. there are times where it's a not yet, not a never. Let me

  219. give you an example local Malaysia example that many of us will understand. Do

  220. you remember when you first got your driving license, you know, and for

  221. some of us here, you know, we first got driving license, was

  222. so excited and we had all the dreams of re enacting fast and furious.

  223. And you think that your parents would give you the car to the no the

  224. car, give you the key to the family car, or give you a

  225. key to a brand new car. And instead, for many of us,

  226. or maybe some of us here, what we get was a third hand beat

  227. up proton can chill, you know or I don't know. That's my generation,

  228. maybe for you my v or whatever it is. Okay, it's okay,

  229. I drive a my view, so I can, I can, I

  230. can talk slowly about it anyway, you know, And and we think that

  231. what what is this? What is this how am I gonna impress? Goes

  232. with this? No, what is this? What is this? And you

  233. see your your parents are not trying to withhold a blessing from you, but

  234. they're trying to help you keep a blessing because if they give you something that

  235. you're not ready for. No, now that you've driven, now that you

  236. are fiscally and you know, responsible, much more mature than a lot of

  237. you are driving better, bigger cars. But if you were to give a

  238. young person who just got their driving license, you know, a messages a

  239. family car, it's gonna wreck it, it's gonna lose it. And God

  240. is not just about wanting you to bless you with a miracle. God wants

  241. you to keep the miracle. And so that's something for us. We gotta

  242. understand. Amen. You know, God is saying that I love you,

  243. and yes you can bulldly asked, but but but we must also humbly approach

  244. him, just like how Marry humbly approached Jesus. And how many are glad

  245. that Jesus said not yet. Jesus never said no, Jesus never said you're

  246. not good enough. And maybe for some of us here you're you're believing God

  247. for a breakthrough and and and what you're hearing is just silence. But how

  248. many know that silence is not aknown Silence is not yet, silence is not

  249. denial. And that's so important. How you are glad that Jesus never held

  250. marries prayer life, you know, to account and go like, oh,

  251. now you're asking me by this you pray this morning, and we think that

  252. don't we a lot of was thing that we're not good enough to ask God

  253. because our prayer life doesn't match up. But you see, if it was

  254. your matched up prayer life that got you to breakthrough, that it wasn't a

  255. miracle, then it wasn't something that only God can do it. It was

  256. something that you did following the the you know the law. You know what

  257. I'm saying. And so we need to come back to the place of humbly

  258. saying that God I surrendered to you and please move on my behalf and whatever

  259. he says, trust amen, But I want you to do one step better.

  260. Don't just trust do it because point number two is obedience. Obedience Mary

  261. said in John two five to the other servians. You know, like I

  262. know Jesus, I you know spend some time in here, and it might

  263. not sound nice. But whatever he tells you, I know his hearts.

  264. Whatever he tells you, do it. Don't just bear with it, do

  265. it. How many are glad that when we talk to God, because we

  266. serve and we worship a living God, he answers back. The problem is

  267. we don't listen or the other problem is we don't do what he says.

  268. Because this is the other thing that we need to understand about miracles. God

  269. will oftentimes ask us to step out in obedience, but the obedience doesn't look

  270. like the miracle. Just just just pause for what What were they're asking for?

  271. They were asking for wine, right, and what did Jesus ask him

  272. to do? Bring water? I mean, you know some of us are

  273. like, at least ask us to bring grapes. I can only imagine the

  274. servers going like, you know, I am no wine maker, but I

  275. know that wine come from grapes, you know, whether it's like you know

  276. your wines, grapes, you know, fruit like, Come on, what

  277. at least bring ask us to bring out some wine skins? But no basin

  278. fish tank. I did the math. It says here, right, it's

  279. a six water water basins about twenty to thirty gallons each, which is you

  280. know, and I did a math with this, I'm googling, and the

  281. equivalent to one of those water pots is like the big fish tank you see

  282. in Chinese restaurants where you pick out your dinner. You know, the wine.

  283. We're all the fish, not miserable, like please please, don't please

  284. please, life has no meaning, but please don't you know that tanks?

  285. And they fill up six of them? What the sixth? What the tank's

  286. got to do with wine? Where's the grape? Where's the wine skin?

  287. Where the bottles? And yet they obeyed. You see, some of us

  288. here we desire a breakthrough and God has spoken. And yet because what he

  289. said it's so out of this world, or it's so one hundred and eighty

  290. degrees from what you're believing God for we we we wrestle with it, we

  291. rejected, we we we rebuke it, even in the name of Jesus,

  292. you know. And maybe you're sitting here going like God, I need a

  293. miracle in my financial situation, and then God says give and he go like,

  294. excuse me, what now, God, excuse me? I need I'm

  295. running out. I can't pay my rent. Why you ask me to do?

  296. And yet if you read it would of God in famine, Elizah was

  297. there and and and and you know, if you're not a believer, it

  298. looks like this mean old profit took advantage of a single mom and a daughter

  299. and go like, heys, famine, no more food? What do you

  300. have left? Bake it and give it to me first. It looks crazy,

  301. and yet the widow obeyed. It looks like it doesn't make sense,

  302. Yet the servants obeyed God. I need a miracle, and I don't know.

  303. I feel so lonely. I feel so deflated. You know. I

  304. put on a brave face in front of other people, but I feel like

  305. I don't know. I feel like I'm at a bad place emotionally, I

  306. feel like giving up. I can't get myself to even go to work.

  307. And then God says go to church, and you go like, excuse me,

  308. God, are you? Are you? Are you hearing? I just

  309. told you I can't even get myself up in the morning. And then all

  310. you have to do is say go to church, because maybe what you need

  311. is not an emotional healing. What you need is a spiritual healing. Well

  312. you need you think you need a therapist. No, no, no,

  313. you just need the presence of God. And then sometimes it's the opposite,

  314. God, I need a man. God, I don't care pass it says,

  315. it's not glorified. I need a man. And maybe God in his

  316. infinite grace and must say, says hey, I love you, Go sure

  317. sign up for missions, and he'd be like, excuse me, I need

  318. a companion. You ask me to go solo to another side of the world.

  319. Learning you like like, like, what, why are you saying?

  320. God? And yet they obeyed? What is God challenging you today? Why

  321. has God been challenging you this week? This sounds crazy, This sounds counterintuitive.

  322. There sounds one hundred and eighty degrees from the very thing that you're yearning

  323. for. Friends, can I ask you that perhaps that is the very thing

  324. that God wants you to obey. See, faith comes from hearing or hearing

  325. the word of God, and God speaks and sometimes what we need to do,

  326. yeah, humbly ask, but we need to be quick to obey.

  327. Amen. Turn to your neighbors, says you need to obey. You need

  328. to obey. Tend to your other neighbors. I know it sounds crazy,

  329. but just obey point number three. It's faith. Faith. So the humbly

  330. asked and the obediently responded. And yet no miracle will ever be complete without

  331. stepping up by faith. I want us to catch something here, right,

  332. Let's flash up verse nine again, if that's possible. Right. Verse nine

  333. of John chapter two. It says, here's something that I want us to

  334. catch, because we we miss it. Sometimes when the Master of the feasts,

  335. when them see right, had tasted the what the water that was made

  336. wine, and did not know where it came from. But the servants who

  337. had drawn the what water knew What did they feel water? What did they

  338. draw out? Still water? No, it's still water. The servants who

  339. had drawn the water new and when they when he tasted the water, sometimes

  340. you missed this. I only catch this. When did the miracle happen in

  341. the mouth? When did the miracle happen on the way? That means that

  342. they obeyed. And sometimes God says it and then now step out. But

  343. when you step out, it still looks that nothing has happened, because they

  344. were drawing it stewater. And then God says, now walk to the Master

  345. of the ceremony man. He imagine the servants was thinking, Jesus, you

  346. want me to lose my job? You know, you know I'm walking.

  347. They knew the Bible says, they knew what they were holding, and they

  348. were walking and going like, uh, Jesus, I you know, I

  349. didn't go to school much, but I know the difference between water and wine.

  350. First of all, there's a difference in color. You know. I'm

  351. pretty sure you know. Whatever I put in when I drow it looked the

  352. same. But you asked me to take some out and go. You see,

  353. a lot of times we want the miracle to happen, then we celebrate.

  354. God wants you to celebrate that the miracle happens. You see, without

  355. faith, it's impossible to please God. You know, if you if you

  356. look at all the scriptures of miracles. Jesus always said that. On the

  357. way, the black man was asked to say, you know, Jesus,

  358. you know I think John nine since that, hey, black man, here,

  359. go split up the floor, make some modsqucious eyes, and say,

  360. now walk to the silver women, and then wash the Roman centures, and

  361. now go home, and then the miracle will be as it is when you

  362. reach home. You know that the miracle, friends, happens on the way.

  363. The miracle is not complete without a step of faith. And this is

  364. not blind faith. This is faith that is an obedient response to a good

  365. God. And this is something that we need to catch friends, because faith

  366. often feels like walking, trembling, shaking, not feeling like you have it.

  367. But God is saying, yeah, that's why only I can do what

  368. I can do. And so, friends, I don't know what you're believing

  369. God for. Maybe some of you here you're, like I said, you

  370. hate your job, and yet God says, go because the trans formation is

  371. in the going. The transformation happens on the way. Come on, how

  372. many of us here have been stuck in the infamous Malaysian traffic jam? And

  373. certainly the presence of God hits you right there in the middle of Federal Highway,

  374. right there, right You're not at some conference. Passe Canda's is not

  375. there, your favorite preacher's not there, your favorite band's not there. The

  376. CD's playing, maybe it's even I don't know what it is, and yet

  377. you felt it's not music. The Holy Spirit was with you, and and

  378. tears start coming and it looks like it's raining, but it's only raining in

  379. your eyes. You turn on the wipers, your tears to you, don't

  380. stop. How many we've been there before? Come on? If if that's

  381. you can't hear, good? Amen? Why because the miracle happens on the

  382. way, On the way back from a hospital after a back diagnosis, on

  383. the way to a meeting you didn't feel like attending, on the way to

  384. a difficult conversation, or on the way back from a difficult conversation, the

  385. miracle happens on the way. Turn to your neighbors, says, your miracle

  386. is on the way. Oh, that's so good. Turn to other neighbors,

  387. says, your miracle is on the way. Amen, the miracle happens

  388. on the way. Sometimes we don't feel like coming to church. Sometimes,

  389. even as leaders, you don't feel like coming to church. But the miracle

  390. is on the way. God doesn't zap you and then use you. Sometimes

  391. God zaps you as he uses you. Amen. And so this is something

  392. that we need to catch friends, because do we serve from a miracle producing

  393. God? Of course, But let's begin to humbly ask, obediently respond,

  394. and faithfully step out. Amen. You know I want us to catch this

  395. because and again, I don't know what you're going through, but I want

  396. you to know that God loves you. He really does, and fath Sometimes

  397. it is shaking and trembling, but God will show up. He always shows

  398. up. And so, friends, I don't know what you're going through.

  399. Maybe some of you here you need a miracle at work. You need a

  400. miracle in your marriage. The fire's gone out. Marriage counseling doesn't work.

  401. You need something. You need God to do something only he can do.

  402. Some of you here you love the Lord, you love him, and yet

  403. your family, your children hate him, and you go like God, I'm

  404. living the life I'm trying to role model. No, I'm doing family alter,

  405. family, Bible study time, every family Christian activity, family, Netflix,

  406. whatever we're doing at all. But yet my children are not interested at

  407. all. God, only you can do what you can do, and sometimes

  408. requires us to obey in a radical way that is against our personality and who

  409. we are at the core. And yet God will always make sure that the

  410. miracle happens on the way. Amen, the miracle happens on the way.

  411. Maybe for some of us, here's an encouragement to persevere. Maybe you have

  412. been humbly asking. Maybe you have been obedient and yet you've not seen the

  413. breakthrough. Hey, I'm here to tell your journey's not complete. God has

  414. a timing. Amen, all, I am sharing of you. It's not

  415. made up. It's biblical. When you look at how the walls of the

  416. Jago came down. Did they praise after the wall came down or did it

  417. come down as they were praising. Amen, I want God to speak to

  418. you. And so I don't know what you need, what kind of miracle

  419. you need. By know that that people here who you need a miracle.

  420. Your marriage needs a miracle, your studies need a miracle, your health needs

  421. a miracle, your your finances near a miracle. Maybe your ministry leader and

  422. your ministry needs a miracle. Maybe even feel that this church needs a miracle.

  423. This church needs I don't miraculous growth, miraculous unity, miraculous forgiveness.

  424. Only God can do it. And so, if you're in need of a

  425. miracle, if you're in need of new wine for your marriage, if you're

  426. in need of fresh fire from heaven, you know years ago I obey God's

  427. call to go full time. I love my Dad, I want him to

  428. come to know the Law. I love my family. I want him to

  429. come to know the Lord. But when I told them, hey, I'm

  430. going full time, they were not pleased at all. My dad was angry

  431. because when I first became a Christian, there were two things he told me

  432. that I couldn't not do. Number One, you cannot be baptized. I

  433. was eleven years old. I had just become such a new Christian. Nobody

  434. has even talked to me about baptism yet, but I was already told you

  435. can't do it. You know, sometimes there's something spiritual about baptism of a

  436. non believing friends seem to know more about it than we do. Maybe it's

  437. a breakthrough that you need. Maybe it's a step of obedience you need.

  438. And then the second thing he says I can't do is I can't work full

  439. time for church. I was eleven years old. I wasn't even thinking of

  440. going full time in church. I was just trying to just get by.

  441. He says, you can't do that. And so when I feel God called

  442. me to live my job, to go work full time as a campus pastor

  443. at the time, as student pasted at the time, I told them and

  444. my dad was just angry, and my mom, was a Christian, got

  445. even angrier. And my mom says that I'm trying to reach your dad and

  446. you're not making it easy. I'm trying to reach your dad. And then

  447. here you are going being such an extreme Christian. Sometimes the thing that God

  448. is challenging to obey can seem extreme to other Christians even But who is the

  449. one who spoke? And who is the one that you're responding to, and

  450. who is the one that you're expecting a miracle from God? And so my

  451. mom stopped talking to me. I tended my resignation. This started came back

  452. to me because I was just back at my old place on this trip.

  453. I was cleaning out my drawer and I saw my resignation letter. Anyway,

  454. and my mom was so frustrated. I'm gonna go to prey meeting. I'm

  455. going to my church. I'm gonna go to Canton, this medicist church and

  456. Pinang, I'm gonna go down and go go to prem meeting. I'm gonna

  457. pray to God to intervene. She thought she needed a miracle. Only God

  458. can do what God can do, and she dad praying the Lord did do

  459. something. That only he can do. Because my mom, who is you

  460. know, a bit more helped a bit more reserve with the moves of the

  461. Holy Spirit, caught me back after season not talking to me and said that

  462. when I went to pray meeting today, I heard from the Holy Spirit.

  463. So some of us in ex church we take that for granted, Pentecostal circles.

  464. Everybody here's from the Holy Spirit. But what you don't understand is,

  465. you know sometimes of a Baptist parents are or Medidists parents. You know,

  466. it's it's it's a miracle. And then the miracle God was this is it?

  467. I felt the Holy Spirit said to me, release your son to build

  468. my house. And as he builds my house, I will build his house,

  469. and and and and and so we did full time. Eventually my dad

  470. got around the idea. They didn't quite like it was a bit nervous,

  471. but I was like, yeah, no, sons, going on, we

  472. can do what he wants to do. Then when it came time for us

  473. to respond to God's call to go overseas, they were a little bit like

  474. when you go overseas, you know, like why why why does the UK

  475. didn't didn't Christianity my dad thinks Christianity came from the UK, But it didn't.

  476. Didn't Christianity, It wasn't there. It wasn't you invented that way,

  477. You're going back and reinventing the wheel again. No, I'm not reinventing.

  478. No, not that. And then so I went in obedience. I wanted

  479. my dad to know Jesus. And yet God was calling me into obedience and

  480. bringing me further and further away from Him. But praise God. December twenty

  481. fifth, twenty eighteen, when I was in UK serving the law, my

  482. father got baptized. You see, you know, And if I'm really honest,

  483. sometimes in the business of building God's house, I forget to pray.

  484. In the business of building God's house, sometimes I can become like a bad

  485. son. Well, having known that I can be a bad son, but

  486. by myself a good God. And and and and and this is why it's

  487. a miracle, because if I say I pray, then you know what I'm

  488. saying, that the flesh can be ego to secure to say that it is

  489. my prayer. No, no, no, but I know that I I

  490. you know, God was the one who did it. And and and those

  491. of you who are ever tried to reach or have reached a very traditional Asian

  492. dad. You know Asian dad's default factories. I think they don't smell.

  493. No, my dad doesn't know how to hug me. No joke. It

  494. sounds like a joke, but it's not a joke. On my wedding day,

  495. they're ready for talk. And that's is. I don't know how,

  496. but you know we we love today. But but but it's like that.

  497. I grew up like that. No smile, no, I love you.

  498. You know I come from a Hockeyen family. My dad doesn't speak English,

  499. Mandarin and Hockeyen. And the running joke is this, there's no word for

  500. I love you and Hockeyen. Those of you who speak hockey and you know

  501. it, you'd be like I. You know, you start speaking tongues before

  502. you start saying I love you hockey and there's there's no word. Are sorry

  503. in hockey En as well. That's why we had to borrow and say ah

  504. sorry because with the you know what I'm saying, hire people, tough people,

  505. self made man. It's only a God miracle that can reach them.

  506. Some of us here, we need salvation in our family. That's the miracle

  507. you need. We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more information
