will light up your day. I want to talk about from the Book of

Joshua, Chapter fives. I'm going away from Worse thirteen, the Worst fifteen

Joshua Chapter fives thirteen, the Worse fifteen, so Worse today starts off.

It come to pass that Joshua was by Jericho. He lifted his eyes and

looked, and behold a man opposite him with the sword drawn in his hand.

And Joshua went to him and said to him, are you for us?

Or are you our ADVERSEII firs. You know the story of the Book

of Joshua. One of the key highlights of the Book of Joshua is the

walls of Jericho. Never in history, but really a very strange strategy was

given to Joshua that you're supposed to circuit the city of josh Jericho for seven

times, seven times, then the walls will come down. You know,

if we ever played any strategy game before, that is not the best of

the strategy at all. But the Lord I have given that to Joshua.

This is what I want you to do to take down Jericho. Now,

before Jericho there was an encounter before Jericho. There was an encounter very important

for you and for me to realize that, to understand it, because I

think many times in our life we are faced with Jericho's in our life whereby

it is hard, it is difficult, it is impossible, it is overwhelming,

it is huge. But before Jericho can ever be taken down, they

must first of all be an encounter with the Lord. Many times we look

at Jericho. The first thing we ask ourselves that what can I do with

my own strength? Whose contact can I call? What can I do?

We look at our lists of stuff that we have, look at a bank

account, nothing wrong with that. It is good to know what we have.

But they are they in our life where the moments, there are situations,

there are cities, there are difficult situation whereby all contact cannot take down

Jericho. All of his resources is not enough to take down Jericho. And

in fact, sometimes Jericho can be so overwhelming whereby we find it very hard

to move. And that's where we need the Lord. Frands, That's where

you and I need to have an encounter with the Lord. That's where you

and I need to seek the Lord. That's where you and I need to

ask God. God, I need an encounter with you, because if God

is true to his word, he will come to our health. So Joshua

had an encounter with the injury of the Lord. Right in verse fourteen,

he asked the anger. The angel said to him, not as a commander

of the army of the Lord. I have come. Now. God wants

to reveal more of himself to you. Friends. God will your situation in

your life to reveal. I truly really wonder whether or not we will seek

the law if there's no problems in our life. Imagine right now, there's

no problems in your life. Everything's okay. In fact, you can more

than sufficient to do what you need to do if there's no issue in our

lives. But we still seek the lot. Not but we still need to

have a savior in a life, and sometimes you have the other opposite.

Byby we try to awoid problems, meaning to say that we try to avoid

Jericho. We really try to avoid tiptoe around situation whereby I do want to

have problems. I just want a peaceful life. Right. It's almost like

telling somebody say, I want a simple design, but there's no such as

a simple design, because simplicity it's it's it's very way. So therefore,

God will use situations in our lives to reveal friends. He would. God

will use the worst situation in your life to reveal himself to you. If

only you and me would yourself rest in God to allow God to minister to

us. He wants to reveal, He wants to reveal more of himself to

you. But when when God reveals friends, I pray that you and I

will be like Joshua. The first thing yoshow I did was he fell out

on his knees. Very very important. Many times when we talk about worship,

we can sing a few songs but not go out change, not God

transformed, not God changed, because our heart has never connected with the Lord.

And that's why sometimes you can feel yourself like I am not connected during

worship because you have never allowed God to bring us deeper. Because if worship

was just about songs, and what happened is that you you pick all the

sauls you'd like to hear, shure your heart, emotions will will be tough,

Sure you move on. The true assistence of worship for me is can

you still worship God even though if it's not the songs that you sing on

a regular basis. That's why some songs write, or rather modern day songs,

it's all about my need right. And what happens is this is that

our revelation of God through the songs is so limited. When God wants the

challenges beyond the four walls of what we understand, we don't have a great

theology or right understand of who God is. For example, these days,

after I've been visiting different church plants locally and overseas, I find that a

lot of times people get the theology of understanding of God to the songs they

sing, not through the Bible they read through their songs. They sing,

meaning to say, the moral songs that they got will make away where seems

to be no way you understand God? Is God impossible? Right you?

I said, But very seldom you know where the passage it comes from.

And what happens reform of understanding of reform of theology based on the song that

we sing, not on our devotion that we have, very dangerous because after

a while, the more songs that we sing about our need, our need

for savior, which is good, but the diet is not balanced. The

diet is not balanced. That's why when preacher stands out on stage and challenge

you to go for missions, you go like, why go and serve the

Lord? I still go tomorrow, go and become a leader. Do you

know how bad it is become a leader? So a lot of times we

make a lot of reason why we cannot based on our understanding of who God

is because of the some see the diet that we've been taking. Sue out.

Thus, fifty two weeks in a year, and God this morning wants

to minister to us because Joshua fell down on his knees. Friends, I'm

not asking next next week you come to worship you wherever, just you go

to you for your knees, right posture on the floor. But there has

to be a position of our hearts whereby we need to humble ourself. Isn't

it true? Sometimes when we talk about God and talk about our hearts,

we always think that I don't have an issue, ma, I'm humbered.

We always think we're all right, I'm humbled. I don't have an issue

of anger. In fact, with everything we get angry at, it's the

other person's fall because he pulled me to anger. It's okay, Intendity,

you can be silenton. It's okay. I'm used to it. Just let

me just minister to your because I know you're hitting right now, Isn't it

true? Friends? We always gage ourselves that I'm all right, I'm okay,

you know. But God was go something deeper. Even though Gods spoke

to Joshua and in chapter one, you must understand godspeol to josh chapter one,

be bore, be courageous. You should take all this right. But

before Jericho there was an encounter. Why because there needs to be a change

where our hearts needs to be surrendered. What did the army of the law

asks Joshut to do? Remove your senders in verse fifteen. For where you're

standing is holy ground. Remove your senders now. Majority of our Asian you

understand the concept of removing senders right? You understand that right? Shoe right?

Friends, I was when I was reading this, my creator, God

ask me a question, how hard is it for you to remove your cender?

There are things in your life. God wants to challenge you to deal

with issues. But we are struggling with it. And God asked me a

question how hard it is? First it is not about the brand of Senders.

It's not your GiB shows. It is not one of those Bailey shoes.

It's so therefore it's not the name of the Senders, right, But

sometimes you struggle with it because God, I'm going for a war, but

you're asking me to remove my senders. Imagine right now, God, I

breakthrough. I need supplies, but God is asking you to forgive. God,

I need money, forgive I need money. God, you're not listening

to me. It's almost like you want to do something, but God's asking

a lot of people in my course of years, they say that I used

our talents God, I can play it out. I offer up to your

play God. I can sing, I'll sing God, I can lead homes

you lead. But God has never asked for your talents. He has never

He always always asked for our hearts. That's why sometimes you know what happens

when I think it happens in church. For example, like disagreement, you

no contract or obligation to come back next Sunday. At the workplace, you

is that you immediately say, God, I do not want to serve you

And this is what happens. Friends, when we offer to God just

our talents, and then there's this agreement with just taking about our talents because

our heart was never any in the first place. Your heart was never belonged

to God in the first place. That's why it's so easy to break this

just delight. But that's why we serving God is an it's a sacrifice.

You come early to church, you dress up, you you prepare. It

is a burnt offering, a burnt sacrifice. It is true. But the

Bible is it's actually us to go deeper obedience, which is this. It's

like Joshua mean think that the injury of the Lord. Yes there was an

encounter, Yes there was worship. When Joshua asks God, is there anything

you want me to do? Not remove your sandors? For where you're standing

is holy? What is God after after our hearts? Because if he reveals

the blueprint for us to take down Jericho, what's the point of revealing to

you but you want to follow? Think about it? What's the point of

God telling you more but you don't want to follow? And this is what

happened. It is the most Christian life whereby God I can play. I

play, But when when the errors, disagreement, hurt and something, we

pull back. Our talents don't serve you, No, I don't serve the

church ultimately, don't serve the Lord. Love friends, right, you got

to serve the Church right your heart gets cold. Your heart could be cold

in the first place, because your heart will never belonged to the Lord,

which is more important than the Bible. Says Burnt offering a sacrifice. Ma.

It's true, friends, I understand a lot of you'll pay the price

or serve the lord you do. But the Bible says obedience is better than

sacrifice because to obey requires the heart. To obey requires the heart. That's

why, friends, it is not easy. It's not easy to obey because

it requires you to deal with the issues of the heart. If obedience are

so easy, friends, the Bible will not talk about it from cower to

cow. But the question has always been our hearts. It's so hard to

get a heart to comply, to obey God, to listen to him,

to fall in love with him. And God this morning he wants to ministers

to our heart because there are some of us here are facing Jared go right,

God wants to call me home to my home country? Legitimate question? Should

I stay here and work or should I go back home? So I look

at the person. I just say, look, if you just stay for

a job, then don't because job comes and go right. You do get

a job, then you may not know one year later whether your companies will

exist, not whether or you give you the ask you to take a gold

handship. Whatever it is things that's happened, I say, if you stay

because of a job and your sole purpose because of a job, then don't.

But if you stay because you want to serve the Lord and treat God

gives you a job and enables you to stay in this place, to serve

the land, to plow the land in together with other leaders, then stay.

We have to live for a bigger purpose. No one starts off in

a Christian journey in their lives. Friends with this fact that I do want

to serve you, could you imagine now you're on Just accept the Christ you

just received, Jesus Christ, person, save it last week and this week.

God, I just want you to touch my heart on Sunday, But

I don't want to serve you. Nobody starts off the light like that.

busier, it is true. And we always have a choice. You and

I always have a choice to say no or to say yes. The more

going to church on Sunday. Maybe, yeah, understand sometimes you have to

go even colder and colder and colder. That's why we can say more,

You know, why can't I fit into my primary clothes anymore? Wait?

And God wants to deal about the weight issues in your life because everybody's definitions

so different, so different. I feel like this, don't wait, ma.

So when I was talking to a brother and say, although don't talk

to me about this subject, I can manage it. I say, you

know I'm not talking to you I say, I'm reading cossful to you.

No, no, no, I can manage it. I actually got tomorrow.

a while people thinking that it's only leaders. The word is leaders. Readicalness

of leaders, and the word is leaders. A passion to follow God.

That's why it's like that. So the Bible says every weight and sin that

and snares us that slows us down in doing what God wants. Many times

in your life, if you observe your journey with the Lord of friends,

has it slowed down or not? The Bible now says aging slows down or

what you know, friends, age your work with a lot. In fact,

age is supposed to accelerate your work with a lot. This place where

you say Amen, Hallelujah, praise the Lord. Age is supposed to help

you. So many times you think that, oh God wants it's only the

leader's interpretation. Know the way that slows you down. See talking about syne.

It is easy, but you can identify you roughly know what syeys.

Weight is very different. And many times we think we being good ideas and

God ideas good ideas and God ideas. Not every proposal that's good is definitely

from God, from the Lord. Not every proposer that is good that's definitely

from the Lord. And maytimes you look at proposals based on cost versus cost

and benefit ANALYSIESW so good, But no, that's from the Lord. Friends,

and sometimes you am. No happens. Let's let's talk about it.

Consciousness. Consciousness sometimes in this day are living in We look at social media

something go wonder what the person the other person is having, the life the

other person is having. You see all the nice places they eat and stuff

that all you see is your number to a front stare right one time?

All right? You see all these nice dresser and every Sunday you see the

same faces again, but more increasingly sometimes and after a while you're love confatious

to seep through your heart. I want what they're having. It's starts off

as simple as I want what they're having right in this and nothing wrong we're

having desire, nothing like the world is nothing wrong with like, oh nice

highlights, nice nice things as well. Nice. But what happens is that

from a desire, just a talk, we move things into action and after

all we give testimony based the seed of it wasn't from the Lord, the

seat of it from the from wasn't from the Love. But the seed of

it was from a speed of conaturesness that were deposited in your heart. Wait,

what has the weight of your heart been? What's gonna be linked to

you? Of the weight of your heart? And many times you allow things

to set in So the Bible says, you can be surrounded by a great

cloud. Witnesses can great men of God. Billy Graham could be cheering you

on, could be in church right now, all right, really, but

it could be in church cheering you on, but you won't follow because the

win around your heart is so you can't see it. The spirit of country,

you can't see it. Friends, you can't see it. And that's

what God wants to deal with the issues of her harbor, asking remove the

senders of your heart, remove the centers around you for where your standing is

holy. Finally it's going to be this. And God reveals to me that

I find it hard for people. Friends that you know and pray for

guy came up to me, Elder, thank you so much for a word

I was reading encourage, but can you please tell me how do I apply

your word? Then last week God spoke to me something applied that word.

Then the week before that there was fifty two weeks of challenge. He says,

how do I apply consistently so that can get a big two? Almost

every messages that you guys spoke well speaks to my heart. Every different area

is almost like I only got one week to word one area. I see

you get startled there. There's no short cut. Consistency, friends, This

is how I'm going to close one. Was it? You know the scripture

it says that this book of lost shall not depart from your mouth. Right?

You know that right shall not depart from your mouth. Praise Lord,

hallelujah. You got the book right. But you shall meditate. Shoure not

meditate? Meditate what the Bible says, meditate theren consistency there, and this

speaks about consistency. Friends. Please don't leave or don't leave any station of

your life by just say that, it's only this part of my life.

I need you a lot. It's only this probably I need you a lot.

But there has been consistent in life whereby every day I am going to

see God's were being applied. What does the following scripture says, after you

meditate there and not observe to do all this is written. This this how

I'm going to end for then you make your way prosperous. I read through

the scripture many times I totally forgot how we say that God would make your

way prosperous. But the Bible say, you will make your way prosperous.

You would make you would make wish me to say that our decision right now

has a effect on how we're going to see our life in the coming days.

So the Bible says you will make I talk to myself like, okay,

But God, God, it so showed me this word. If the

moment you apply it, something will happen. The moment you decide to follow

me, to understand me, to sink me, to deal with the issues

of your heart, you will find your way to be possibles and successful.

Now this is not a success semin our friends, it is not. I'm

just reading God's consistency in everything. In everything that you do. Meditate on

the day and night, and be careful to observe to do what is required.

It is actually just to meditate. Other people just meditate, but don't

unless God allows us to show us what to do. I truly believe,

friends, that the coming year, really that God doesn't know what's going to

happen, and there's a need, there's a need to seek the Lord.

So I pray that January first, January first, it's a prairi rally,

not just a prayer service, but as a prairilly. I want to encourage

all you come from the prairirey because we really need to seek the lot this

year, this coming year. I mean, really, fans, all this

happening, really do not know what this. You know a lot of people

disappointed, not disappointed with government and stuff like this. It's not real issue.

The real issue is really, Lord, reveal to me. Jericho is

next year. There's some Jerichos that you're facing next year, and you need

the Lord. You do need the lort so of you got children, you

I'm very smart. I'm from a smart university all right, not smart,

Cambridge and the Oxford those step right, so I say on those levels as

I'm I'm best, are sufficient and I can do things very well and

stuff like that. You know, I depend on my own strength, and

you know every time I made mistake, I analyzed my mistake, and I

not to repeat it anymore. Good, I say, so, what's the

question? I say? How do I therefore have faith in God? Because

what happened when you argue? You tell what to do? Right? Mm

Tell me how successful have you been with that? How successful have you

Give her a plan how to work you out? Tell me how success we

have been? Don't not very successful? Let me guess you argue all the

time. Yes, exactly, there's something in your life human wisdom cannot fix.

I say, if once you marry your girlfriend, you have kids and

your kids go crazy, say tell me, are you're going to throw money

at your kids? Why are you going to send this all the psychiatry treatment,

The Gods always placed in the hearts, whereby your whole human connection cannot

solve everything. That's why we need the saving. We need the Lord.

We need his input, we need his guidance, we need we need prayer.

I find a Christian? Just do that. We just follow the God
