You're listening to a message to go from ex Church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
Titled My Message with the Last the few last words
-
of Jesus. It was found in John. Okay, So now
-
we are going to turn to John. So I have
-
the scripture on as well, but later on some of
-
the scriptures we will all turned to the Bibles together. Okay,
-
John of the nineteen verse twenty eight to verse thirty.
-
Now what you see on the screen is in a
-
new living translation, all right, So let's read God's word together.
-
Jesus knew that his mission was now finished, and to
-
fulfill scripture, he said, I am thirsty. Now a jar
-
of sour wine was sitting there, so they soaked a
-
sponge in it, put it on a heatop branch, and
-
held it up to his lips. So Jesus is there
-
on the cross, all right, and he's saying I'm thirsty.
-
When Jesus had tasted it, he said it is finished.
-
Then he bowed his hate and release his spirit. Now actually,
-
actually either is fine, not a problem at all, okay,
-
or no problem? Okay. Now, so this as one of
-
the last or the final utterances of Jesus on the cross.
-
So Jesus said these words, now in the original Greek,
-
because in English is translated as it is finished, right,
-
But the original word, which you are not going into
-
the details, is actually just one word okay. And that
-
word was in a perfect tense of a verb, which
-
actually just means to do something perfectly. So what it
-
can mean what Jesus is saying actually means that it
-
is perfectly, perfect, completely complete. So that is the actual
-
meaning of what he said, okay. Translated into it is
-
finish haleeluh. Yeah. Now what why did Jesus say that?
-
And what does it mean? Jesus one, okay, I don't know. Okay,
-
I'm Chinese Bible. I don't know what the Chinese Bible say,
-
but one China, China, I don't know what Okay done,
-
It's finished now m done leo okay dun leayo. Now
-
let's look at the next verse. It says in Hebrews
-
chapter ten, verse fourteen. So this is what it means
-
by that one offering. In other translations it uses the
-
word sacrifice. So what Jesus did on the cross was
-
that one You can add the word perfect offering or
-
sacrifice that he made that He forever made perfect those
-
who are being made holy. I really again for by
-
that one offering, by his act of dying on the
-
cross for us, he forever made perfect those who are
-
being made holy. Who is holy us turn to your
-
neighbor and say, you are forever made perfect. Hallelujah. That's
-
what the Word of God says. Okay, so you are
-
forever made perfect, all right, hallelujah. So by one final
-
I would say, it's a final, all sufficient sacrifice. Jesus
-
has perfected forever, ah once and for all. He has
-
done all that is ever would be necessary at any
-
time to meet the needs of every believer. Can I
-
hear an amen? For that? I repeat, by that one final,
-
all sufficient sacrifice, he has perfected forever. He has done
-
all that ever would be necessary at any time to
-
meet the needs of every believer. Tonight you're just gonna
-
hear that over and over again, because there's nothing else
-
to preach except Jesus. Amen. We're just going to preach
-
Jesus and what Jesus has done for us on the cross.
-
So the question to you and I is this, and
-
it's to me. So the question as I preparing God
-
is asking me, joy, do you believe, Hallelijah, that every
-
of your needs has been met? Okay? Do we believe
-
that every need of every human being? You and I
-
sitated here, your friends, your family, your neighbors, your colleagues,
-
whether it be spiritual, it be physical, it be emotional,
-
it be mental, it be material, every single need of
-
every human being has been supplied true the sacrifice of
-
Jesus on the Cross. Do you believe? I ask myself
-
the question, do I believe? Do I believe that my
-
every need has been answered and supplied done deal on
-
the cross, hallelujah? Amen? And I pray that tonight we
-
will all come back to that place again. We can
-
say Jesus all that I need, Hallelujah. You have done
-
it all on the cross for me. I just need
-
to receive you. I just need to come before you. Amen. Amen.
-
So the extent of what we are able to appropriate,
-
of what Christ has done on the Cross for us,
-
will be the extent of our spiritual experience. And we
-
just so. God has no other basis upon which you
-
will supply our needs other than the Cross. And everybody
-
say the Cross. Amen. Amen. So tonight that's what I
-
want to do. I want to again bring us all back,
-
as I bring myself back to the place of the
-
cross again, to see again and to be reminded again
-
of the significance of the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Okay.
-
So our main text tonight will be on from Isaiah
-
chapter fifty three, okay, so which the Lord is telling
-
us through the prophet Isaiah of about Jesus, okay, Okay.
-
So now, and in the in this chapter of chapter
-
fifty three, we can see so clearly the message of salvation.
-
All right. So before we go into Isaiah chapter fifty three,
-
you will see from the start of the this chapter
-
it's not a very long chapter, all right, quite a
-
short one, and it talks about this unnamed servant of
-
the Lord, all right, okay, and his name the name
-
of this unnamed servant is not given in Isaiah chapter
-
fifty three, but we all know because later on, if
-
you read in the New Testament, the apostles and the
-
writers of the New Testament were all in agreement that
-
this unnamed servant is Jesus. Okay, that Isaiah is talking
-
about in chapter fifty three. So everybody, now, let's all
-
turn to our Bibles to Isaiah fifty three Versus two
-
to ten. Okay, so everyone got your bibles. Come, so
-
parents you can you can help your children with it. Okay,
-
and let's all turn to the Bibles together. So Isaiah
-
chapter fifty three, verse two to ten. Now I'm gonna
-
read from the New Living Translation. Okay, it's says here
-
in verse two. My servant grew up in the Lord's
-
presence like a tender green shoot, like a root in
-
the dry ground. There was nothing beautiful or majestic about
-
his appearance, nothing to attract us to him. He was
-
despised and rejected, a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief.
-
We turned our bags on him and looked the other way.
-
He was despised, and we did not care verse four.
-
Yet it was our witnesses he carried. It was our
-
sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles
-
were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins.
-
But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins.
-
He was bitaten so we could behold. He was whipped
-
so we could be healed. Verse six. All of us,
-
like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God's paths
-
to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him
-
the sins of us all. He was oppressed and treated harshly,
-
Yet he never said a word. He was led like
-
a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep is
-
silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth.
-
Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one cared that
-
he died without descendants, that his life was cut short
-
in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion
-
of my people verse nine. He had done no wrong
-
and had never deceived anyone. But he was bruised by
-
a criminal. Sorry, he was buried like a criminal. He
-
was put in a rich man's grave. But it was
-
the Lord's good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet,
-
when his life is made an offering for sin, he
-
will have many descendants. Amen, he will enjoy a long life,
-
and the Lord's good plan will spur in his hands. Now,
-
the prophet Isaiah is prophesying all right about Jesus. Now,
-
let's gain zoom in in your bibles right now. In
-
verse six, what did they say, again, all of us,
-
like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God's past
-
to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him
-
who is the hymn, this unnamed servant of the Lord,
-
who is Jesus, the sins of us all. Now, the
-
words sin there actually means guilt or perversity or rebellion.
-
But it not just means the rebellion or the guilt itself.
-
It also includes the punishment and the consequences of sin
-
and rebellion. So Jesus took on himself our sin, our iniquity,
-
our rebellion, our wrongdoing, and the consequences of all the
-
sin and the and the punishment for guilt upon himself.
-
So God laid it on Jesus, all of that, including
-
the punishment we should have been our punishment. All right,
-
So Church, now, before I go our I only have
-
three points tonight, three points. But before I go into that,
-
this is the main text that we are looking at.
-
What do you think is the main problem of mankind? Sin? Okay, sin,
-
in other words, rebellion, Because in verse six essays all
-
of us want to do it our own way. We
-
have all straight away we have left God's path to
-
follow our own way. So we have turned on. That
-
is one simple problem for every man. No matter how
-
good we are or how bad we are, that is
-
our problem. So that is the universal problem of every person,
-
all right, no matter what country, no matter what color,
-
no matter what language we speak, we are all guilty
-
or rebellion. So the mercy of God is that when
-
Jesus hung on the cross, the Lord visited on him
-
the iniquity, the guilt, the rebellion of mankind, and all
-
the consequences of rebellion, so that we do not need
-
to be punished for the sin, but we will be
-
free from those evil consequences and receive the benefits of
-
righteousness of Jesus. Can someone say, amen, hallelujah. That's the
-
most goodest, goodest best us good news no that you
-
can ever hear, isn't it? Hallelujah Jesus. Now doesn't that
-
sound like an exchange? He put it on Jesus and
-
then give us the blessing. Now, I have a simple
-
illustration to make now on the stage. I hope this works. Okay,
-
it feels a just say yeah, good job. Okay, all right,
-
I need three male volunteers. Okay, okay, all right, all right, cool,
-
But I had was shown in my mind, and I'll
-
tell you why later. Okay. So wai shum okay, t more.
-
I want male because you got to come out to
-
the stage. So I think easier for the for the
-
gentleman to come up. Two more volunteers, male volunteers. Now
-
I'm just called jayden't come, I even where are you?
-
I even I saw, I even just know I even come.
-
All right, one thirty am, ten thirty hallelujah, all right,
-
come okay, just a simple illustration. Okay, okay, I hope
-
this works. Hallelujah. All right, So wait for sir. Wait
-
shown you step aside first. Wait sure you stand here? Okay, Yes,
-
Jayden is standing here and iven here okay, very good,
-
in front of a little bit, in front of it,
-
in front of it, in front of it. Okay, I'm
-
slang okay, very good. Now ivern would be men meaning
-
men kind like you and I. Okay, Jayden will be
-
g Jesus. Okay. Now because of our iniquity, our sin,
-
our guilt, I will just use a simple word band okay, okay.
-
Now you need your both hands are right and left, okay, guys, okay, okay.
-
And because of that we deserve punishment. So this one, no,
-
this one, this hand, this on this hand, okay, and
-
I use pink color paper. Sorry for those who are
-
color blind. Pink in color bad Okay. Okay. Now Jesus,
-
so in Isaiah verse six, is saying not verse six,
-
verse nine, he says, Jesus did not do anything wrong, right,
-
he knew no sin. So Jesus is good. Yet I
-
use the word good life represent Jesus. And because of that, yes,
-
he receives every blessing from his obedience. Okay. So now
-
what happens is wa shun represents the cross. Okay. So
-
what happened okay? So what happened on the cross? Ah,
-
what happened on the cross is that there was an exchange, okay,
-
all the consequences and punishment for evil, bad, iniquity or
-
rebellon and all, okay, was put onto Jesus. Jesus changed hand,
-
blessing and good one blastriend one my hand, change hand, correct,
-
all right? So Jaden and Ivan, you change the punishment
-
and the blessing, all right. So men, you know in
-
our nature sinful nature just too bad. But because of
-
what Jesus did on the cross, So the cross so cross,
-
you stand right behind men standing in front of that
-
it okay together, yes, okay. Because of what Jesus did
-
on the cross, there was an exchange. So Jesus, who
-
knew nos sin, took upon him all our punishment. Hallelujah,
-
Oh glory to God. Simple elization on me. Thank you
-
so much. Guys, thank you, thank you, thank you so much,
-
Thank you. Give them a hand. I wanted to give
-
them reward to know, like teacher, that know, like what
-
we did in school. No give stickers. They realized they're
-
all guys. Maybe not like ha hi, hallelujah Jesus amen.
-
So if we can see that what happened on the
-
cross is an exchange, okay, all the consequences of evil
-
or punishment due by justice to mankind because we are
-
bad to each of us individually corporately, was visited upon Jesus.
-
This is so that all the blessings from good due
-
to the obedience of Jesus might be made available to
-
us who believe, hallelujah. And this exchange is made possible
-
only by the wation, by the wation right by the
-
cross Hallelijah, by the wation. Okay, So to say it shortly,
-
the punishment came upon Jesus that the blessing might be
-
made available to you and I. Hallelujah. So God visited
-
upon Jesus on the cross the guilt, the rebellion of
-
all mankind, and the evil consequences of rebellion, so that
-
we might be white free, hallelujah, from those evil consequences
-
and receive the benefits of righteousness of Jesus. Now we're
-
going to see now what is stated in Isaiah. What
-
are these benefits for example? Now it's not just these
-
three points, but I think we only have time for
-
three quickly. Okay, So what did Jesus accomplish on the
-
cross for each and every one of us? Hallelujah. So firstly,
-
Jesus was punished so that we might be forgiven. Hallelujah.
-
Now turn to verse four and verse five. Now, my
-
precious brothers and sisters, keep your fingers in Isaiah fifty three. Okay,
-
we're going to revisit it many times, all right, So
-
keep your fingers there Isaiah chapter fifty three. And now
-
let's look again at verse four and five. Yet it
-
was our weaknesses he carried. It was our sorrows that
-
weighed him down, and we thought that his troubles were
-
a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins.
-
But no, he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for
-
our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. Now,
-
the new King James said that the chastisement for our
-
peace was upon him, was whipped so we could be healed.
-
So the punishment due to our our own wrongdoing came
-
upon Jesus. So Jesus was punished so that we might
-
be forgiven. And it says that in verse five the
-
punishment for our peace that we might have peace. Amen.
-
So until the punishment for sin has been inflicted, there
-
will be no peace right. But Jesus was punished so
-
that we might have peace with God, to being forgiven. Amen. Amen.
-
Now let's look at Collotions chapter one, and we can
-
see again what Christ has done for us, and he
-
has offered us forgiveness. In verse nineteen, it says for
-
God in all his fullness, was pleased to live in Christ,
-
and through him, God reconciled everything to himself. He made
-
peace with everything in heaven and on earth, by means
-
of who and what Christ's blood on the cross. So
-
by Jesus standing on the cross for us, he had
-
made peace with each and every one of us, and
-
we are forgiven. Amen. Amen. So Jesus was punished that
-
we might have peace to being forgiven. There can be
-
no peace for the sinner until he knows that his
-
sins has been forgiven. Isn't it true for you? And I?
-
It was true for me? Hallelujah. So the question is
-
that some of us have to answer, do you do
-
we have peace? And I'm talking about the peace that
-
only He can give because our sins are forgiven. Today
-
some of us here we will need to admit and
-
confess that we have sinned and we have fallen shot
-
of God's standards. And like just like verse six, we
-
have to admit that we have walked our own ways.
-
We have strayed away, and it's time to come back, yes,
-
so that we may obtain peace to knowing that our
-
sins are forgiven. Imen. So that's the first point. Jesus
-
was punished so that we might be forgiven. Amen. Second one,
-
Jesus was wounded so that we might be healed. Now
-
turn to Isaiah chapter fifty three, verse four and five. Again.
-
So In these two verses we see both the physical
-
and the spiritual aspect of forgiveness and the physical aspect
-
of healing. So again I read again. Yet it was
-
our weaknesses he carried. Now this is the new Living translation.
-
It was our sorrows that he weighe him down, okay,
-
And verse five he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed
-
for our sins. He was beaten so could we could
-
be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.
-
In the New King James, he says, But he was
-
wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities.
-
The chastise for our peace was upon him, and by
-
his stripes we are healed. Hallelujah, Thank you Jesus. Now
-
now we want to turn to Matthew chapter eight, right now,
-
and we want to see how Matthew referred to Isaiah
-
as well in verse in chapter eight, verse sixteen, and seventeen. Now,
-
when evening had come, they brought to Jesus many who
-
were demon possessed, and he cast out the spirits with
-
a word and healed all who were sacking. So this
-
was Jesus performing miracles and healing the people, and they
-
brought to him many who were demon possessed and sick,
-
that it might be fulfilled. In verse seventeen, which was
-
spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying he himself took our
-
infirmities and bore our sicknesses. So here in the New
-
Testament you can see again an explanation for Isaiah. All right,
-
So Jesus took upon himself our infirmities, our sicknesses, okay,
-
and by his stripes we're being healed. So here it
-
uses towards here infirmities and sicknesses. And I believe informities
-
and informatists are like things that we are liable to,
-
like allergies and all but sicknesses will cover all diseases.
-
So I believe Jesus, by his one, all sufficient sacrifice,
-
covered all sicknesses, all informaties. Hallelujah. That you can ever
-
think of, okay, any eggs and pains, any form of
-
problems in our physical bodies. Jesus has covered it all. Amen. Amen.
-
Now first Peter, chapter two, verse twenty two, twenty three
-
to twenty four. Now what did Peter said, he which
-
is Jesus referring to Jesus did not retaliate when he
-
was insulted, nor threatened revenge when he suffered. He left
-
his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly.
-
He as in referring to Jesus personally, carried our sins
-
in his body on the cross, so that we can
-
be Date to sin and live for right is right. Amen.
-
And that is the forgiven part, date to sin and
-
live for right is right. And the physical part, by
-
his wounds or by his stripes, you are here, hallelujah.
-
So Jesus bore our sins in his own body on
-
the cross so that in the spiritual we might be
-
forgiven and lived for what is right. Hallelujah. And he
-
took our sicknesses and bought our pains in the physical
-
so that we might be heal. A man, can you
-
see that the emphasis is only on Jesus, no one else.
-
It's not a mean on anyone. There's no solution in ourselves.
-
Our only solution is in who Jesus, and our only
-
answer is in Jesus. And we will notice that healing
-
is never said in the future, Tens. It says that
-
you are hute, hallelujah. Okay, It's never in the future tens.
-
But when it comes to referring to what Jesus has
-
done on the cross, it is in the simple past tense,
-
meaning it happened on the cross. It was a fact
-
of history. Whether you and I believe it or not,
-
it has happened, Amen, And we can't change that. But
-
what we believe today will affect us. Right, So the
-
question is do we believe? So the question should not
-
be how can I know if it is God's will
-
to heal me? But the question is do I believe
-
that I am huge? Amen? Hallelujah. Do I believe? And
-
how can I appropriate the healing which God has already
-
provided for me? Amen? Hallelujah, Jesus, Thank you Lord. Amen.
-
Now my final point, hallelujah. And I'm doing good with time,
-
Yes we are, Okay, final point now as we remember
-
again what Jesus has done now in this same passage. Okay,
-
my third point I put here, as Jesus endured our
-
rejection that we might have his acceptance as his children. Now,
-
let's read. Your fingers are there right in verse in
-
chapter fifty three of Isaiah. So let's again look at
-
verse two and verse three. In verse two, it says,
-
my servant grew up in the Lord's presence like a
-
tender green shoot, like a rude in dry ground. There
-
was nothing beautiful or majestic about his appearance, nothing to
-
track us to him. Was three. He was despised and rejected,
-
a man of sorrows, acquainted with this deepest grief. We
-
turned our backs on him and look the other way.
-
When I read that again and again, I thought it
-
was quite bad to turn your bag, you know, and
-
turn the other way. It's like like like for real. No,
-
I mean, kids, I don't friend, you can't think, but
-
this is for real, like I We turned our backs
-
on him and we looked the other way. It's a
-
very strong word. No, he was despised. Okay, So I
-
look it up, gave it I we finished, Sorry, excit.
-
He was despised and we did not care. Alama, horrible
-
this meet usal. We did not care. Okay, Now, so
-
I look it up. Despice de spies is a strong word. Okay,
-
So what does it mean? Is to feel a strong
-
dislike for someone or something because you think that that
-
person or thing has no value or is unworthy of
-
your notice or consideration. It is a strong level of
-
disgust or contempt, and is often used to express a
-
feeling of superiority over that thing or person of the emotion.
-
So it's because you feel superior over that person or thing,
-
and that's why you despise him or her or that thing. Ouch. Okay, now,
-
friends of brothers and sisters, I think rejection. Now, So
-
what is saying here is that Jesus was despised. He
-
was rejected. Rejection is one of the one of the
-
or maybe one of the most or the deepest wound
-
that a human heart can bear. Do you agree with me?
-
I agree it. A mark of rejection is that such
-
a person always feel like he's on the outside trying
-
to look in, but he cannot get in. Like everybody can,
-
but I cannot. Everybody has it, but I don't have it.
-
Others can, but I can't. Okay. Another mark of rejection
-
is the inability to express love. Now, the apostle John
-
says that we love God because He first loved us. Amen.
-
But we can't express love if love has never been
-
expressed to us, and it's just natural and God, I
-
believe that was how God made us. It takes the
-
expression of love to release the expression of love. And
-
that's why when when a lady who is pregnant with
-
a child and the child can be born feeling rejected
-
because the mom rejects the baby even while she carries
-
the baby in the womb. And we know that, and
-
we know of people or we know of children who
-
bought wondering why, but there is that sense of rejection
-
since birth because maybe the mom has declared like I
-
didn't plan for this child, or this child was an accident.
-
I really didn't want this child, you know, I wanted
-
to abort this child. So a lot of times is that.
-
And some of us grew up in that kind of
-
environment as well, we were maybe compared to with our siblings,
-
and some of us really literally felt that rejection, maybe
-
from our parents or different ones or teachers. Teachers play
-
a very important role, and yeah, and sometimes we or
-
maybe it's just how you feel. Maybe the person did
-
not intend to reject you, but you feel rejected. And
-
even you know, in choosing football team teammates, we can
-
feel rejected. Why I'm not chosen, what that wasn't chosen
-
to represent the team and all these things in sports everywhere,
-
and even as a new born child needs the love
-
of our parents, and some of us don't have that,
-
or some of us didn't have that, now rejection, and
-
that's what Jesus endured for us. Now I want to
-
turn us to the book or the Gospel of Matthew,
-
chapter twenty seven. Now I'm drawing to the end already.
-
Chapter twenty seven is where we read about what when
-
Jesus was hanging on the cross? Now, verse forty five
-
to verse fifty one. So let us all turn to
-
Matthew twenty seven, verse forty five to fifty one, now
-
and let us read at noon. Okay, Now, Jesus was
-
kneeled to the cross around nine am in the morning,
-
and he hung there. And by now in verse forty five,
-
we are at twelve o'clock noontime. So at noon darkness
-
fell across the whole length. Now, noontime we all know
-
is the hottest time of the day, okay, and today
-
I think it was one of the very hot day.
-
I don't know about your very hot day. So imagine
-
the hottest time of the day. It was total darkness, okay,
-
of the land until three o'clock for three hours. That's
-
quite long. At about three o'clock. In verse forty six,
-
Jesus called out with a loud voice, which means, my God,
-
my God, why have you abandoned me? Now, some of
-
the bystanders misunderstood and thought he was calling for the
-
prophet Elijah. One of them ran and filled the sponge
-
with our wine, holding it up to him on the
-
reed stick so he could drink. But the rest said, wait,
-
let's see whether Elijah comes to save him. Then Jesus
-
shouted out again. Maybe he shouted up it is finished,
-
but that wasn't recorded in Matthew. There was recorded in John, okay,
-
And he released his spirit, and at that moment the
-
curtain in the sanctuary in the temple was torn in
-
two from top to bottom. Now we all know the story. Okay,

Now let's look at verse forty six one more time.
-
Jesus called out to the Father God, the Father, with
-
a loud voice, asking my God, my God, why have
-
you abandoned me? Or why have you forsaken me? Now?
-
I suspect, okay, that Jesus died earlier than would a
-
normal man who have died, meaning you will normally take
-
a little longer to die on the cross. But by
-
then Jesus died already. And how we know that, it's
-
because when the soldiers came and wanted to break the
-
licks of the people hanging the tree, of them who
-
are hanging on the cross, because that was the day
-
before the Sabbath. It was the preparation day, sorry for Passover,
-
and so during the preparation, the preparation day, they didn't
-
want the bodies to hang until pass Over, so they
-
wanted to hasten the death of the criminals. So they
-
attempted to break the LIGs of the criminals so that
-
they die faster. By the time the soldiers wished Jesus,
-
Jesus already died, so his LIGs were not broken. And
-
in other parts of the Gospels, it was recorded that
-
Pilot was surprised that Jesus has died, and he asked
-
for the officer, the Roman officer, to come and verify
-
whether he's ate or not. Is it true he's died,
-
he's dead, because normally it would take a little longer, Okay,
-
So we read in verse for they so I suspect
-
that he died earlier than would normally a man would die.
-
And end right after that, after he called out he
-
released his spirit, and then the curtain in the temple
-
was torn into two. I believe Jesus died due to
-
the rejection from the Father God because for the first
-
time in history, the son of God cried out to
-
Father God, but Father God did not answer. The Father,
-
our father in heaven had to stop his ears, turned
-
away his eyes. Why remember that exchange. What happened to
-
Jesus on the cross. He took our sin. He took
-
all all the iniquity, the sin, the rebellion, and the
-
consequences of all evil. He took it all on himself.
-
So Father God had to turn away, because God cannot
-
look upon sin with favor. So Jesus endeared our rejection
-
on the cross, and immediately after that he gave up
-
his spirit. And the first thing that happened was that
-
the temple velle was torn into from top to bottom.
-
What I've read is that the veil was extremely thick
-
and that men could not have even torn it or
-
tear it from into two, even from bottom to top. Okay,
-
so it from top to bottom just shows us that
-
it was God who did it, and that veil is
-
what separates unholy men from a holy God. Isn't it,
-
And when it's torn, is ensigned for God to say
-
that now it is no longer separated. Jesus has made
-
away for us to come to God. Amen. Jesus endured
-
our rejection, rejection, rejection, so that we can receive his
-
acceptance as his children. Hallelujah. I'm joined to a close
-
and our worship team can come now. This is the
-
last portion of scripture we're going to read tonight, and
-
everybody say Hallelujah, hallelujah. Ephesians chapter one, verse three to six,
-
all praise to God. And tonight we want to give
-
all praise to God imen the father of our Lord,
-
Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing
-
in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ
-
even before He made the world. Listen, and I believe
-
God is speaking to some of us tonight. God already
-
loved us, and God already chose us to be in Christ.
-
God loves you, and God has chosen you, Amen, Amen,
-
to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God
-
decided in verse five in advance to adopt us into
-
his own family by bringing us to himself, to Jesus Christ,
-
and this is what he wanted to do, and he
-
gave him great pleasure, hallelujah, verse six, which is what
-
we're going to do tonight. So we praise Scott hallelujah
-
for the glorious grace that He has poured out on
-
us who belonged to his dear son. Amen.
