  1. You're listening to a message to go from acts Church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your day.

  3. Life.

  4. Simply just entitled the sharing or the sermon or the

  5. teaching The Resurrection that rocked our lives. Indeed it has

  6. rocked our lives. And you know, I pray that the

  7. faith in which we live will continue to be vivid.

  8. It will be so real, so tangible like how Roy

  9. or sharing just now. You know, sometimes we always pray

  10. for our life of less dramas.

  11. Lord, no need, no need dramas.

  12. No, just keep it nice and come and compose and

  13. let me just sail through life.

  14. But that's not how the Lord is going to want

  15. us to live.

  16. Because if faith, hope and love is our priority, that

  17. means ultimately He's going to bring us through a journey

  18. in faith, in hope, and in love. And I think

  19. with all that raw and faith has gone through, it's

  20. something that they can now allude to, is that the

  21. fact God is real and God has come true.

  22. Amen.

  23. And so you know, when I was out in some

  24. money on Friday after sharing and teaching at the Good

  25. Friday Service, someone actually came up to me after service

  26. and this person asked me this question after I shared

  27. the message, and this person asked me, you know, very

  28. very honestly, because this person is not a believer, and

  29. some money did an amazing job actually fly ring and

  30. through the flyer ring, well, let me get my specs out.

  31. It's stuck, okay. Through the flyer Ring initiative, eleven newcomers

  32. were invited from all walks of life, from all different ages,

  33. and they were from all sorts of different faiths. And

  34. so this person came up to me and and she

  35. she was very very honest in her question, and she

  36. asked me, why am I so convinced that Jesus Christ

  37. died and won race from the date. She actually asked

  38. me that because just listening to what I just shared,

  39. and I told the congregation that I had absolutely no doubt,

  40. and I sheard what I believed in, and you know,

  41. she asked me that question, you know, why was I

  42. so certain? No? If have you ever got asked that

  43. question before in your lives? It would be good actually,

  44. as believers if someone actually asked you that question, and

  45. what would you what would have your answer being if

  46. someone actually asked you, why do you believe absolutely in God?

  47. And so, you know, I realized.

  48. I didn't even take time to try to work out

  49. a respond I just I answered her immediately, And you know,

  50. I actually told her this. I believe that everything that

  51. I just shared is factually accurate, and therefore it did

  52. take place. And so I told her I personally believe

  53. Jesus Christ died and was raised to life three days later.

  54. And of course she went on to ask me, know,

  55. how how could I or how did I come to

  56. that conclusion? Based on what kind of evidence? Did I

  57. come to that conclusion? And you know how some of

  58. us actually sometimes we really desire and we want scientific

  59. evidence that that indeed happened, that that that that that

  60. event actually did take place. And you know, for us today,

  61. where we are right now, two thousand years later, there

  62. will be no physical proof that such an event took place.

  63. It's not possible because not like any of us ate

  64. with Jesus, not like any of us got a chance

  65. to actually pot his scarred hands, nor put our finger

  66. to the to the to the peers hands, not like

  67. how Thomas did know Jesus didn't ask us to come

  68. and put our finger in his hands. So what evidence

  69. can we actually present to a world that doesn't believe.

  70. Is there even any evidence?

  71. And the answer is we can actually and we have evidence,

  72. but it's not scientific evidence. Okay, because if you think

  73. about it, what does scientific evidence need? Okay, When you

  74. talk about scientific evidence, it depends on two things. The

  75. first thing is you need an observer being present at

  76. that point of time when that event actually happened. And

  77. then you need to be able to reproduce that event

  78. in the lab. Okay, So you need an observer, and

  79. that's how science works.

  80. That's an observer.

  81. And then after that you can reproduce it in the lab.

  82. But no scientist was present at the resurrection, and they

  83. have never been able to resurrect someone else in the lab,

  84. well at least not the way Jesus was resurrected. And

  85. so we cannot offer anyone any form of scientific evidence.

  86. Yet you will realize again that.

  87. No unbelievers say that Jesus is dead, but then they

  88. cannot produce the dat body, but believers say he is reason,

  89. but actually we cannot produce the living body. So it's

  90. almost like a day lock. Right, we are like, how now,

  91. But actually there are evidences in which we can produce

  92. not scientific evidence, but legal evidence and all these legal evidence.

  93. I'll explain.

  94. I'll explain because I want you all to see it,

  95. you know, if you are in court.

  96. Okay.

  97. And I was trained as a lawyer, and so that's

  98. how my mind sometimes thinks. But imagine a court case,

  99. a murdered trial, okay, And what you need to do

  100. at the trial is you need to present evidence, right

  101. to be presented at the court. And what you need

  102. the evidence that you need to be presented needs to

  103. prove beyond reason doubt that the murder took place.

  104. Okay. That's what the court is doing. Okay.

  105. If someone is charged in court for murder, then the

  106. prosecution has to come and prove to the judges that

  107. this person, beyond reasonable doubt based on the evidence that

  108. is produced, killed this person. And so two kinds of things,

  109. or two kinds of uh evidence can actually be produced

  110. in court.

  111. Okay.

  112. The first kind is eyewitness testimony or eyewitness evidence. That is,

  113. this is direct evidence someone actually saw this person stabbing, okay.

  114. And then based on this person's testimony, the court will say, Okay,

  115. it looks like this this event did happen, and this

  116. person did murder someone. And then the other type of

  117. evidence is something called circumstantial evidence, okay, is basically the

  118. person did not see it happen, but saw things that

  119. point to the fact that it happened. Okay, that's what

  120. circumstantial evidence is. That means you didn't see this person

  121. stab his wife, okay, because you just weren't present. But

  122. then you saw some evidences of all this person buying

  123. a plane ticket, wanting to escape, wanting to go somewhere

  124. at this point at time. And then after that you

  125. dig a little bit further than you find out actually

  126. this person has a mistress out somewhere. There are all

  127. circumstantial evidence that can actually help a person conclude that

  128. this person murdered his wife.

  129. Okay.

  130. So these are the two kinds of evidences that we see.

  131. In the case of Jesus' resurrection. We actually have eye

  132. witness testimonies. In fact, we have five, and they are

  133. from Matthew, Mark Luke, and John the Amazing Gospels. Not

  134. only that, we actually have Paul as well, who wrote

  135. about Jesus. If you study the Gospels, you study the scriptures,

  136. these are actually evidence of what they saw and what they.

  137. Experienced, and they shared it.

  138. In fact, it was Paul's testimony that probably came first,

  139. because if you look at the dates of your scripture,

  140. the Gospels who were written after a little bit later

  141. or a little bit after the letters that Paul wrote. Okay,

  142. that's beyond you don't need to know that. But again,

  143. eyewitness testimony is terribly convincing, and that's why people can

  144. be charged based on eyewitness testimony.

  145. And I tell you why.

  146. You see, you know, five people, they see something and

  147. then they stop describing it, and you realize, wow, all

  148. these descriptions that we get in the Gospels, all the

  149. four Gospels, sometimes they don't tell you or not and

  150. then you realize, you realize that when you read the Gospels,

  151. some events don't quite tell you. You know, is there

  152. really harmony within the gospels? Is it all telling the

  153. same thing? But yet they were writing it as they

  154. saw it the means, as they saw what happened.

  155. They were writing it.

  156. You know, if all four of them give identical accounts

  157. of what they saw, the chances of that being made

  158. up is actually much higher. That's how evidence works in

  159. the court of law. If fall fless, no different flows

  160. from different angles and different walks of life come and

  161. they give identical testimony.

  162. It's almost as if you can.

  163. Conclude that that evidence that they are whatever that they

  164. are writing is cooked up. They are trying to make

  165. sure that whatever that they're saying is all true. But

  166. you see this group of people, they wrote it as

  167. they saw it. So some may have seen one angel,

  168. some may have seen two angels, maybe depending on where

  169. they were standing, depending on who they were encountering.

  170. But they were writing the truth.

  171. It's not that there are discrepancies in their accounts. It's

  172. just the on truth of what they saw. And so

  173. we have this genuine eyewitness testimony. And then we also

  174. have some amazing circumstantial evidence for Jesus' resurrection.

  175. Do you all realize that? Do you know? Just imagine this.

  176. No, the first circumstantial evidence is this the Jews, who

  177. have been worshiping on Saturday on the Sabbath for as

  178. long as they came about. Suddenly they changed the worship

  179. day from Saturday to Sunday. It was almost a sudden thing,

  180. and if you study the history, it's really true, and

  181. it's not a normal thing. It's not an easy thing

  182. to do because Sunday is actually a working day, and

  183. so the Jews, of course the early Christians were mainly

  184. the Jews, and they realized that this is the reason

  185. king in whom now we worship. He is the King

  186. of the Jews as well as the king of the

  187. gen else, and we now must worship and celebrate him

  188. on the day in which he rose and he started

  189. work again.

  190. And they change. And that's why. You know how the

  191. early Christians used to worship.

  192. They're either worshiped really early in the morning because they

  193. had to go to work, or their worship after work,

  194. which was later in the day. But something that had

  195. never happened before, something that was unprecedented. A whole group

  196. of people who worship faithfully religiously, on one day decides

  197. to change.

  198. That's amazing.

  199. That's circumstantial evidence that something took place. It has to

  200. be something that caused them to make that switch. Another

  201. circumstantial evidence is evidence is this. You know, the followers

  202. of Jesus, the disciples know if you read and you

  203. study the Gospels, you realize that prior to the Crucifixion,

  204. prior to the resurrection, they were all afraid, they were

  205. all scared, they were all hiding. In fact, Peter so

  206. readily denied Jesus because they were just afraid for their

  207. safety and their security. Jesus was almost a rebel in

  208. the eyes of the people, and even his closest associates

  209. were actually dissociating themselves from him. But after what happened

  210. on Resurrections Sunday, suddenly it just turned and it changed,

  211. and those who were afraid were now out on the

  212. streets and they were standing up against anyone who was

  213. accusing their Savior, and they were ready to die to

  214. proclaim the reason king.

  215. No one does that.

  216. Of course, we can't say conclusively, but I believe that

  217. it is circumstantial evidence.

  218. If the resurrection was not real, today.

  219. We won't have billions of people two thousand years later

  220. following something or following an event that is fake and

  221. did not take place. The reality is today you see Christians,

  222. those who believe that the resurrection took place and is

  223. indeed an event that we can continue to glorify God with.

  224. It's really an amazing evidence to tell us as well

  225. that God is working. If you look at healings that

  226. are taking place, and I tell you this, a lot

  227. of our healings happened because of the resurrected Savior, because

  228. true resurrection. What he has essentially overcome is death, and

  229. every healing is a healing from what is eventually leading

  230. us towards death. And so because Jesus overcame death, we

  231. can now proclaim healings. And we have all seen how

  232. God continues to heal people until today. And so after

  233. saying all this, this person that I was talking to,

  234. I actually went on like this for about ten minutes,

  235. and then she's finally nodded and she's said, I now see,

  236. and I now understand how you came to believe in

  237. this event. And then I actually stopped her and I

  238. corrected her. I told her, I do not just believe

  239. in an event. I believe in a person, because ultimately

  240. we are not believing that the resurrection takes place. Only

  241. we are believing in the resurrected Savior. Jesus is his name, Amen.

  242. And so I want us to understand this because today

  243. what I hope to do is I want to bring

  244. us through a portion of John's Gospel that we have

  245. all been reading together as a church for the past

  246. twenty one days. And here is where I want to

  247. highlight both the evidence of the grave, because I think

  248. it's important for us to see the evidence and read

  249. it for ourselves, and you will be the judge and

  250. the Jew. And then also the experiences that the different

  251. ones went true at the garden. Let's go to God's

  252. work because both the dimensions of the evidence and also

  253. the experience is actually necessary to understand the resurrection of

  254. this person we call Jesus. You need to look at

  255. the evidence to convince your mind because a lot of

  256. us sometimes our minds are not convinced. But evidence, when

  257. you look at it, is to convince your mind. But

  258. you also need to look at the experiences because really

  259. the experiences is what allows our heart to really take

  260. it all in and take it on right. And so

  261. the experience, the reason we need to experience God for

  262. ourselves in our hearts is something that's very very very important,

  263. and either one without the other becomes very one sided.

  264. That's why both our mind and our hearts needs to convinced,

  265. because if not, we were always ten on the fence,

  266. will always be neither here nor there. Okay, everyone doing good.

  267. Let's let's go to the scriptures and I'm gonna read

  268. basically from John chapter twenty. I'm gonna read verses one

  269. to nine verus. I'm gonna break it down into two portions,

  270. but they are essentially the same chapter.

  271. Okay.

  272. John Chapter twenty says this early on Sunday morning, while

  273. it was still dark, Mary Magdalene, Okay, this is Mary Magdalen,

  274. not married, the mother of Jesus, not Mary and Martha,

  275. the two sisters. But Mary Magdalene came to the tomb

  276. and found that the stone had been rolled away from

  277. the entrance.

  278. Hallelujah.

  279. She ran and found Simon, Peter and the other disciple,

  280. the one whom Jesus loved. Okay, this is John talking

  281. about himself. She said, they have taken the Lord's body

  282. out of the tomb, and we don't know where they

  283. have put him. Peter and the other disciples started out

  284. for the tomb. I guess is a very humble way

  285. of righting about yourself. Hey, okay, referring to yourself. He

  286. as the third person. They were both running, but the

  287. other disciple out ran Peter. Of course, he still need

  288. to get up. Peter a bit and reached the tomb first.

  289. Of course, John, we know is younger. He's much younger,

  290. so that's why he could run faster. He too, and

  291. looked in and saw the linen rappings lying there, but

  292. he didn't go in. Then Simon Peter arrived and ran

  293. right inside. Isn't that Simon Peter for you? He doesn't hesitates.

  294. He's one of those like, ah, I'm just gonna go

  295. straight in, okay. And so that's what Simon Peter did.

  296. He arrived and he went straight in.

  297. Here.

  298. He also noticed the linen rappings lying there, while the

  299. cloth that had covered Jesus's head was folded up and

  300. lying apart from the other rappings. Then the disciple who

  301. had reached the tomb first also went in.

  302. Okay.

  303. So he eventually John went in, and he saw and

  304. believed amazing. He saw and believed. For until then, they

  305. still hadn't understood the scriptures that say Jesus must rise

  306. from the day. Okay, something something casts him to believe.

  307. So I want to start off first with the evidence outside.

  308. And the evidence outside is, of course, the stone that

  309. has been rolled away. You've got to imagine this with me.

  310. That stone probably weigh more than a ton, okay. And

  311. how they build the tomb is it's in a little

  312. bit of an incline.

  313. Okay.

  314. It's easier to actually roll the stone to shut the tomb, okay,

  315. but to actually roll it the opposite direction. You try

  316. rolling a one ton boulder, even though it's round, but

  317. you're rolling it up and incline. It will probably take

  318. quite a number of people to actually do that. And

  319. one of the reasons for this is because they want

  320. to prevent people from robbing graves. It's a normalty, especially Jesus,

  321. because many people were trying to disprove the fact that

  322. he will be resurrected. Jesus actually spoke about this. This

  323. wasn't something that just happen things, so people were preparing

  324. to disprove it, or at least not allow it to happen.

  325. And so the women actually wandered, know when they were

  326. on the way to the tomb, who will roll the

  327. stone away for us?

  328. How are we going to get in there?

  329. Of course we don't have that account written in John,

  330. but you can see in the Gospel of Mark and

  331. these women they love Jesus, and so they wanted to

  332. serve him all the way to the very end by

  333. embalming his body. Because Jesus was again he was crucified

  334. as a criminal. And this is the criminal who committed

  335. no crimes. In fact, he was probably the only person

  336. who committed no wrong in his life that was actually

  337. put to death, and so he was not afforded any

  338. kind In fact, they usually used to throw criminals hanging

  339. on the cross into a valley called Guhana that actually

  340. is also a place that is known as hell in Jerusalem.

  341. They throw them all into that.

  342. But somehow in the Sanhedrin there were two secret believers.

  343. Hallelujah praised a lot. One of them was Nico Dimus.

  344. The other one was Joseph of Arimitia and of Aremitia

  345. had a plot. He had a tomb, and that's why

  346. Jesus fulfilled the prophecy that he was going to be

  347. buried among the rich people. I think it was something

  348. along those lines that it was.

  349. Stated in the scriptures.

  350. And so the women were wondering, oh, I wanted to

  351. serve out the embalm his body because he wasn't afforded

  352. any form of burial rights. And so they must have

  353. been really shocked when they saw not only the stone

  354. rolled away, but they also realized, Hey, the soldiers not there. Hallelujah,

  355. praise God. No soldiers, no stone. And somehow we know

  356. today because of the scriptures. In Matthew, it was the

  357. angels that actually pushed the stone over, Allelujah, Praise God,

  358. and then they sat on it. Okay, in Mathew there

  359. was the account. So ever, I imagine, why was the

  360. stone remove think about it? Was it so that Jesus

  361. can come out? Actually, No, Jesus in his re embodied state,

  362. the means are in his new body. Actually he can

  363. go in and now even though there is a stone there.

  364. In all honesty, because I'm not going to go into

  365. the scriptures, but if you read on in his re

  366. embodies there, he was moving quite quickly. He couldn't be

  367. in multiple places at one time, but he could go

  368. to different places really really quickly.

  369. I don't know.

  370. I think I can't wait to be re embodied and

  371. resurrected in Christ because can do some pretty cool flash stuff. Okay,

  372. but we didn't need the stone to be rolled away

  373. for Jesus to come out, but it was essentially rolled

  374. away for the world to go in because the world

  375. needed to see. And this is what happened next. Okay,

  376. let's look at the evidence inside. Because when they walked in,

  377. when Mary and the other women noticed, they noticed the

  378. body wasn't there, okay, you see the account in Luke

  379. chapter twenty four, and they will overcome with terror because

  380. they were like, oh, no, someone robed or someone's stole

  381. Jesus's body.

  382. And then what she did was she ran.

  383. They ran, and God that disciples got Peter and John, uh,

  384. and they were telling them someone has taken him.

  385. No, come quickly, come quickly.

  386. And then we saw both Peter and John running, and

  387. of course John outran Peter, but when he arrived he

  388. didn't go. Strangely, it was Peter who when in. And

  389. what they witnessed was they saw the bandages or whatever

  390. there was used to wrap Jesus just lying there, okay.

  391. And John knew because John was the one that saw,

  392. and he saw very clearly. He knew no human being

  393. could have gotten out of the body in that way.

  394. You think about it.

  395. Even when Lazarus was resurrected, he came out and there

  396. was still the bandages around him. But this was as

  397. if they were what they were witnessing. It was almost

  398. as if Jesus's body evaporated. And that does not happen

  399. to date bodies in graves, right, What happens to date

  400. bodies in graves, they usually decompose, not evaporate the resu

  401. They they slowly and grad jually this disintegrate. But this

  402. was just boom. And then this is where the scripture

  403. actually records. John saw and believed, and he knew that

  404. the tomb had been robbed, but he was robbed by God.

  405. And you know who the greatest tomb raider is is God,

  406. because one day God is going to rob every tomb

  407. of those who believe.

  408. Amen.

  409. Because we are all who believe will be re embodied

  410. one day.

  411. Amen.

  412. And so we give thanks for that. Because John knew

  413. that whatever took place that day was something supernatural. He

  414. was something of God. And you know that it was

  415. prophesied a thousand years before. King David actually said this

  416. in Psalm sixteen, verse ten. You will not let your

  417. Holy one see corruption. And therefore, if death is the

  418. punishment for badness, a good God can not possibly let

  419. a person who lived a blameless and faultless life to

  420. suffer death's.

  421. Decay and corruption.

  422. Does that make sense? I'm telling you the scriptures make sense.

  423. It makes logical sense. And that is why it is

  424. logical that Father God would plan for Christ to get

  425. out of that tomb within three days, because decay.

  426. And corruption usually besets a body on day four. How

  427. do we know that?

  428. The account actually we read in John chapter eleven itself,

  429. because you know they wanted to go and Jesus went

  430. to resurrect who Lazarus, And of course Martha said, hey, God,

  431. Jesus Rabbi, he's been there for four days ready, and

  432. the smell will be unpleasant by then. And we know

  433. usually by day four is where decomposition takes place. And

  434. Jesus was resurrected three days later, Hallelujah, Praise God. And

  435. so the evidence for Jesus' resurrection from the day is

  436. actually stronger than the evidence of any other historical event

  437. two thousand years ago. Do you know that if someone

  438. studies it with an open mind, they must be convinced.

  439. That is the logical conclusion that I have come to.

  440. And actually, there are a lot of lawyers who if

  441. they sit down and study the scriptures and study the

  442. historical records of the scriptures, a lot of lawyers have

  443. come to the saving knowledge of Jesus because they're weighing

  444. out all the evidences, and with that many have given

  445. their lives to Christ because they realize, wow, it really

  446. they take place. So the question that sometimes we ask

  447. ourselves is this, why aren't people convinced? And I'll tell

  448. you why, because this is one historical event that will

  449. change your life.

  450. It will change your life. You see, a lot of.

  451. People can believe that Julius Caesar invaded many countries, right,

  452. you believe in that because there are some historical records,

  453. far less historical records than what the historical records we

  454. have on the Bible.

  455. But yet people.

  456. Believe Julius Caesar invaded many many countries. But the question

  457. I ask you is this, what does it matter to

  458. you whether Julius Caesar is invaded many many countries or not.

  459. Doesn't change your life in one way or the other. However,

  460. if Jesus Christ broke out of death two thousand years ago,

  461. then me and you have to take notice of him,

  462. because if we don't take notice of him, essentially we

  463. won't allow him to break into our lives and let

  464. him be the lord of our lives. And that is

  465. why people choose not to believe in Jesus resurrection, not

  466. because the evidence is inadequate. That's not enough evidence. I

  467. don't believe it actually took place. But it's because if

  468. they accept the evidence, then there are certain consequences that

  469. will follow, and there is a response that is needed.

  470. They don't want him to be alive because if he

  471. is alive, they are now unswerable to him. You realize

  472. that they have to change the way they live. It

  473. applies to me, it applies to you, It applies to

  474. all of us personally. I have considered the evidence. It

  475. is so overwhelming that I cannot but do what John did,

  476. and that is to just believe and allow Jesus to

  477. break into my life. That is why I stand convinced.

  478. And that is what Roy shaid just a moment ago. Actually,

  479. because Jesus is either Lord of all or he is

  480. not Lord at all.

  481. That is the truth.

  482. And this is how we need to look at it.

  483. Look at the evidence. Studying in that manner, does it

  484. make sense. Let's look at what Jesus being Lord of

  485. all means by studying Mary Magdalene's subsequent experience. Okay in

  486. the garden, Okay, I'm going to go to the next

  487. portion of scripture and our end on time. Don't worry, Okay,

  488. I know you're a like what this one partony. Okay,

  489. let's go. Let's read that verses ten to eighteen. I'm

  490. going to read on Jesus appears to marry Magdalene. That's

  491. why you say it's in a nalty. Verse eleven. Mary

  492. was standing outside the tomb crying, and as she webt

  493. she stooped and looked in. Okay, this was after the

  494. two disciples went in. Ready, she saw two white robe angels,

  495. one sitting at the head and the other at the

  496. foot of the place where the body of Jesus had

  497. been lying.

  498. Dear woman, why are you crying?

  499. The angel's asser because they have taken away my lord,

  500. she replied, And I don't know where they have put him.

  501. She turned to live and saw someone standing there. It

  502. was Jesus, but she didn't recognize him. Dear woman, why

  503. are you crying? Jesus asked her, who are you looking for?

  504. And then he says, this air she taught. She taught

  505. her he was the gardener, sir. She said, if you

  506. have taken him away, tell me where you have put him,

  507. and I will go and get him. And then he

  508. goes Mary, Jesus said. She turned to him and cried

  509. out rab Bonnie okay, which is Hebrew for teacher, I

  510. will explain all this because it's significant. And then Jesus

  511. goes on to say this to her. Don't cling to me,

  512. Jesus said, for I haven't yet ascended to the Father.

  513. But go find my brothers and tell them I am

  514. ascending to my father, and your father, to my God,

  515. and you your God. Mary Magdalene found the disciples and

  516. told them I have seen the lot. Then she gave

  517. them his message. The Lord blessed the reading of his word.

  518. Amen. Okay, wait, I'm gonna take a drink.

  519. So the story of Mary Magdalen actually only appears in

  520. John's Gospel.

  521. Okay.

  522. But Mary supposedly went into the empty tomb and those

  523. surprises she found. It was not empty, Okay, it was

  524. not empty because when she went in, when she took

  525. in and she looked in, she saw two angels.

  526. Okay uh.

  527. And some some people be wondering Mary ce injured, like

  528. can chat with them?

  529. Like? Nothing like that.

  530. But if you if you read the account of Mary Magdalene,

  531. she was used to spirits. She was always in contact

  532. not so good spirits previously her previous life. But she

  533. was someone who was quite attuned to that, and so

  534. she was having a conversation with these angels, and the

  535. angels actually said to her, quite surprised, why are you

  536. crying on a day like this. Why you should actually

  537. be singing, You should be dancing, you should be rejoicing,

  538. because if you saw what we saw, pooh, it was amazing.

  539. They probably witnessed how Jesus yeah, took on his new body.

  540. And then she replied them, I'm crying because they have

  541. taken him away. I'm frustrated that I can't do the

  542. last living rights that I wanted to do for the Lord,

  543. the very thing that I came to do. And then

  544. suddenly Mary became aware of somebody standing behind her.

  545. He actually says some of the words.

  546. If you study the scriptures, it says that she actually

  547. glants from the back. That's one of the reasons why

  548. maybe she didn't recognize Christ, because she was just looking like, okay,

  549. on the side of her eye, and she thought, hey,

  550. there's a gardener, maybe he will know. But actually it

  551. was Jesus. And then he also asked the same thing, hey,

  552. why are you crying? And then you will notice, now

  553. Jesus did for very lovely things and I want to

  554. emphasize Mary's experience with Jesus here because they are what

  555. Jesus wants to do for each and every one of us.

  556. I believe this is the experience, okay, and if we

  557. allow him to enter into our lives, I believe these

  558. are the same experiences that we should also encounter. So

  559. the first thing that Jesus wanted to bring Mary through

  560. was this. He wanted he took her from a place

  561. of just feeling to a place of thinking. Okay, because

  562. Jesus asked Mary Magdalen a question, who are you looking for?

  563. Right?

  564. And then the scripture said, what did the scripture say?

  565. It says she she wan, look at your scriptures, she thought,

  566. and then she replied, okay, so she thought, and then

  567. she replied, if you have taken him away, tell me

  568. where I want to do something for him. I will

  569. carry Jesus myself. I mean, she was talking in a

  570. very lucid, in a very composed manner. While it's an

  571. amazing thing for her to say, and she was thinking

  572. she was actually now even more determined to do the

  573. right thing, and just a moment ago she was a

  574. nervous rack. Actually She's like, oh, crying. The Angel said

  575. to like, hey, you're trying to calmel down. But she thought,

  576. and that's what Jesus is going to do. He's going

  577. to help us move from feeling.

  578. To thinking.

  579. Amen, we've got to allow him to do that in

  580. our lives. The second thing is this, he took her

  581. from ignorance to knowledge. I'll explain, I'll explain everything. And

  582. you see, John actually wrote the word Mary, not in Greek.

  583. If you study the scriptures, he did not write the

  584. word Mary in Greek, which is the language that he

  585. was writing the Gospels in Okay, all the New Testament

  586. is actually written in Greek. But he actually wrote her

  587. name in Aramaic Okay, which is the name Miriam. So

  588. he didn't write Mary, he wrote Miriam. And this is

  589. the language that they spoke in Galilee, where Mary Magdalene

  590. was from. And so when Jesus actually called out her

  591. name Miriam straight away, you know, she heard her own

  592. name in her own mother tongue, in her native language.

  593. And a gardener in Jerusalem wouldn't have called her Miriam la,

  594. but this person did. And immediately ignorance change to knowledge

  595. because she realized, and then her sorrow changed to joy.

  596. And that's how you see Mary's joy came flirting back

  597. into her life because she now in return turns and

  598. then she responds, not rabbi, but she responds in Aramaic rabboni,

  599. which is what they would have called him in their language.

  600. And the relatelationship between Jesus and Mary was restored then then,

  601. but it brought what Jesus was essentially doing was bringing

  602. her from a place of ignorance into a place of knowledge,

  603. because now she's aware and now she knows, and that's

  604. what Jesus wants you to experience as well in your life. Curtly,

  605. Jesus had to change her from sense to faith again,

  606. I'll explain. Okay, So Mary did what made sense, right, Okay,

  607. I'm looking at time.

  608. Oh I have time. Okay, Mary did what made sense.

  609. She fell at Jesus's feet and sees him by the ankles. Okay,

  610. I mean I think I would have done the same thing. Okay,

  611. you just lost him a moment ago, and then suddenly

  612. now he appears, and what else to do?

  613. Hold on to him?

  614. Lass like, Okay, don't let I don't want to let

  615. you go. I'm never gonna let you out of my sight. Again,

  616. it's almost like a mother telling a child that she

  617. doesn't really trust to stay puted to not go anywhere. Okay,

  618. that's probably how she was viewing the whole thing, and.

  619. She's like, I'm going to hang on to you.

  620. But Jesus wanted Mary to move from sands to faith,

  621. and that he replied, he is, Mary, this isn't a

  622. way to hold on to me.

  623. Think about it. Think about it.

  624. This is not the way to a permanent relationship with me,

  625. because that will come only when I've ascended to heaven

  626. and send my spirit. Actually, Jesus has been teaching the

  627. whole book of the Gospel of John. If you study

  628. from verses chapters fifteen, sixteen, seventeen eighteen, Jesus was talking

  629. about the helper, the comforter. Jesus could only be with

  630. his people one at the time because he was always

  631. limited by his humanity.

  632. That's the reality of it.

  633. And he already preempted and he told his people that

  634. I must go, and I will eventually be at the

  635. right hand of the Father. But when I go, I

  636. will send my spirit. And the spirit of Jesus is

  637. the Holy Spirit. And so this is how Mary and

  638. all of Us can always have Jesus. It's when the

  639. spirit of God, the Spirit of Jesus comes and the

  640. Spirit of Jesus will always be with those who call

  641. on the name of Jesus. That is why today we

  642. can call on the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit

  643. is exactly who we have with us right here and

  644. right now. Amen. And that is why Jesus told Marry

  645. to stop clinging on to me. It was as though

  646. Mary wanted to go back to the human relationship with

  647. the human Jesus. But it's got to be a divine

  648. spiritual relationship. From now on, I'm going to my father

  649. and your father, you'll have me then forever, because I

  650. am with you always. My spirit will be with you.

  651. So stop clinging. And that was what he told her.

  652. And we have to learn as Christians not to depend

  653. on our senses. That's why I mean that she had

  654. to move from sense to faith, because we need to

  655. have the constant relationship with God the Father in spirit,

  656. whether or not we can see and touch him, because

  657. that is faith.

  658. Amen. Makes sense. That's why in the Book of.

  659. Ezac Kilm, the prophet actually wrote in chapter thirty six,

  660. verses twenty six, twenty seven. He says this, and I

  661. will give you a new heart, and I will put

  662. a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony,

  663. stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. And

  664. I will put my spirit in you so that you

  665. will follow my decrease and be careful to obey my regulations.

  666. God is going to replace that physical needs we need.

  667. And he had to do it for those that he

  668. appeared to because they were the only ones that experienced

  669. the physical Jesus, and it's a normal thing for them

  670. to want to hang on to the physical Jesus.

  671. But Jesus said, I have to go, and I'll leave

  672. you the spirit.

  673. And that's why I know greater are those who didn't

  674. see him actually but still believe that is us today.

  675. We didn't see him, but still we believe because we

  676. have the spirit of God that lives in us.

  677. Amen, and the thought and the last one.

  678. And I'm about to end, so the band can actually

  679. come up.

  680. I'm going to end.

  681. He wanted to move her from self to others. Mary

  682. was saying, I want you all to myself. That's why

  683. she in a way, that's why she hang on to him.

  684. She cling on to him she held his feet. But

  685. Jesus in return told her. What did he tell her?

  686. He said, she go and tell others, Go and tell

  687. others that you saw me. And Jesus wanted her to

  688. be more concerned than our should know. Jesus then just

  689. her benefiting of the relationship or from the relationship that

  690. she had with a lot. It's amazing, no, because with

  691. that Mary turned from a mourner to a missionary. She

  692. was someone who was in mourning. But the next thing

  693. she did was she did what a missionary would have done.

  694. We shall go tell it to the mountains. And she

  695. went out and she told the disciples. And here is

  696. how I want to end. This message can come up.

  697. If you read it carefully, you'll notice the message given

  698. by Jesus to Mary for the disciples, because Jesus actually

  699. told her go go and tell the disciples. But the

  700. way he addressed them in the message that he wanted

  701. her to pass on, it's quite interesting. Jesus addressed them

  702. with a new title. Actually, he says, brothers, go tell

  703. the brothers. You see, he had never given them this

  704. title before. Nowhere in the scriptures you see him calling

  705. them brothers. He has called them friends. He has called

  706. them servants, he has got them disciples, but never brothers.

  707. But from now on they were his brothers. It's amazing.

  708. For those who believe in the evidence of Jesus's death

  709. and resurrection will go on to experience his real presence

  710. in our lives because he has now made us his

  711. brother and his sister. Really, that is the power of God,

  712. the power of Jesus breaking true into our lives, because

  713. he's not a shame to call us brothers. And what

  714. a privilege right to have your Lord and Savior call

  715. you brother.

  716. Sister.

  717. And this is the glory of the resurrected Christ. This

  718. is the resurrection that rocked each and every one of

  719. our lives. And so this morning, this is my prayer.

  720. A lot of us, sometimes we sit in this congregation,

  721. some of us, you know, wake in and wake out,

  722. and many of us will say that, Yeah, I too

  723. believe in the whole account. I believe in all the

  724. eyewitness record that Jesus indeed died and was resurrected. A

  725. lot of us believe that Jesus died and was resurrected.

  726. A lot of us believe in facts, which is what

  727. I believe in as well. But we have to move

  728. from believing that Jesus died and resurrected to believing eat

  729. the Christ who died for us and who is now resurrected.

  730. There is a difference.

  731. It's different when you say I believe that Jesus died

  732. compared to I believe in Jesus, because one solicits a

  733. response because one, and it's the letter. When you say

  734. I believe in Jesus, you are essentially saying Lord, you

  735. are either Lord of all or not Lord at all.

  736. We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more
