  1. You're listening to a message to go from acts church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your tea.

  3. Today.

  4. I've chosen a kind of a discipling passage because you

  5. all need to know that as being disciples of Jesus,

  6. because after what it means to follow Jesus. When Jesus

  7. told them in Mark chapter fourteen, verse Marks chapter four

  8. verst nineteen say come follow me our many fishes of men.

  9. They knew how to fish, but they didn't know what

  10. it means to be a fisher of men.

  11. And Jesus told him to follow him.

  12. Despite whatever it is, they were willing, they were available,

  13. they obeyed, they followed, but they didn't.

  14. Know what's going good happening. So on whatever it is,

  15. the end of it.

  16. As you begin to put the pieces together. In Matthew,

  17. chapter twenty eighth, verse nineteen twenty, what did Jesus say,

  18. Go now they you have your trade, Now that you

  19. know what it is to catch men, Now that you've

  20. seen how I've done it, Now that there how I've

  21. spoken about it. Now that you have seen all the

  22. things that has happened right before your eyes, follow me,

  23. follow me. And now that they followed, you go and

  24. make disciples of nations. That's why God is interested in

  25. people group. There's no no. I don't think there's any

  26. other country in the world like Malaysia. You know why,

  27. because every other people group is here. As I always

  28. make a joke out of it. The only people who

  29. are not here I ask kimos because they all live

  30. they need snow to live around.

  31. But every people group. You know why.

  32. I know about this because I get to visit the

  33. Kajang and Sunny Bouloup prison those on death row.

  34. Also, they're all an international group.

  35. Allow of them on they call it thirty nine which

  36. is drugged and three zero two which is a murder

  37. case and song and they're all death row prisoners. And

  38. I've met a Russian there, I've met a Lebanese there,

  39. I've met Chinese people there. I've met uh so many

  40. different groups and even one guy in Romania. Yeah, if

  41. this is just a small representation, what about all the

  42. people group? We cannot be there, but Jesus brings them

  43. here so that they bring them here, so that you

  44. can fulfill the great commission, go and make disciples of nation.

  45. And I just got a call yesterday from a guy

  46. from Nepal and he just rang me. He said, Bassa,

  47. you remember me, I said, I said, tell me your name.

  48. He said Kaji. Oh, yes, of course Kaji.

  49. And Kaji came all the way from Pokara to Kamandu

  50. to Malaysia to work. And after he started working, because

  51. he didn't have enough funds, we were doing a church extension.

  52. What happened, he said, I can be a security guard.

  53. So he came and through that he came to know

  54. the Lord. Through that, he rang his family every night

  55. and shape with them.

  56. The whole family came to know the Lord.

  57. Through that, he brought many of his other Nepali friends

  58. who are still working in Malaysia. And I remember he

  59. became my interpreter. Yeah, and many of them came to

  60. know the Lord. And I just got a call from

  61. another pastor. He said, do you remember this guy Amba.

  62. I said, yeah, Amba, You're not a place so too

  63. many already, I said, you know, he said, now he's

  64. serving the Lord. He came to he was in SSEMC.

  65. He came to know the Lord. He's the first batch

  66. of guys who came to know the Lord. I said, oh,

  67. you remember that too. And so for me being a

  68. disciple following Jesus has this kind of an amazing way

  69. that God wants to bring to us.

  70. Ah, So I pray that this will be so for you.

  71. Whether it is three and a half years that they followed,

  72. whether they believe or not, Jesus was still very, very

  73. interested in ensuring that they become people who really mean business,

  74. just like what Jesus said to them the week before

  75. he was.

  76. Crucified.

  77. In Johns of the Thirteen, the Bible tells us in

  78. verse one, he says, when Jesus knows that he's going

  79. to leave them, he loved them fully to the extent

  80. of his love. And what do you do? He washed

  81. their feet, He washed their feet. He washed the feet

  82. of the guy who's going to deny him three times.

  83. He washed the feet of the person who's going to

  84. betrayed him. He washed the feet of this guy who

  85. is always in doubt, like Thomas. He washed the feet

  86. of everyone who tabled.

  87. When he was arrested. He Matthew twenty six, verse fifty six,

  88. he said, they all fled. And when you are fled,

  89. what happened?

  90. I thought you were three and half years with Jesus,

  91. and even you know this this guy say, I will

  92. even if others run away, I.

  93. Will still be with you. Peter said that ready, deny,

  94. but what did Jesus do?

  95. Jesus washed their feet for one good reason, he says,

  96. I'll tell you one good reason. Because people need to

  97. know who are my disciples? And you all know John thirteen,

  98. verse thirty four, thirty five A new commandment. I give

  99. to you that you love one another, that you love

  100. the love that I've given to you, You love the

  101. love that I've loved you.

  102. So that by this show all men know.

  103. In verse thirty five says, by this show, all men

  104. know that you are my disciples. If you have loved

  105. one for another. Wow, that's very powerful. And I pray

  106. that this would be so that every time anyone meets

  107. a believer from Exchis, they say, by this sha, all

  108. men know you are Jesus disciples. I like the way

  109. this guy said to me. He said, you know, I

  110. don't know what's wrong. What's wrong with me? I said,

  111. what's wrong with you? Because my friend told me you

  112. know you have something that I don't have. I said, oh, maybe,

  113. but you look handsome and you don't look very handsome. Yeah,

  114. he said, no, no, no, no, it's not that he said.

  115. Then this is what he said, and it's true because

  116. I've said that about him. I said, you have somehow

  117. this amazing joy in your heart that you know, it's

  118. it's sort of an eminence from you. And uh, and

  119. I said, wow. And that's what he said, you have

  120. this joy which I don't have.

  121. I don't know why. So I said, what did you

  122. tell him? That's an opportunity.

  123. There's an opportunity to share who you are a disciple

  124. of Jesus, who says, in your presence there is fullness

  125. of joy.

  126. Yeah, and I pray that this would be so for you.

  127. So I've chosen a kind of a discipling theme of

  128. an incident of how Jesus is going to teach them

  129. what it means to follow him. And he's found in

  130. Mark chapter four, verse thirty four to fort you one.

  131. A lot of times, you're very familiar.

  132. With this, this episode where Jesus, you know, took them

  133. over together on the board and then.

  134. There was a storm extra. So we're going to go

  135. to that. We'll break down that.

  136. But when a lot of people just use the term

  137. maybe entitled their message Jesus comes a storm, no faith,

  138. Why are you afraid?

  139. Etra?

  140. But they choose to take the first quotation of first

  141. instruction that Jesus gave to them. There was they were

  142. already having a lot of ministry. A lot of people

  143. came around the crowds, he tells us in verse ety five.

  144. And when the crowds all gathered and they finished their ministry,

  145. extra this is what Jesus said. He said to them,

  146. let us cross over to the other side. Let us

  147. cross over to the other side. I don't know know

  148. how you look at it. It's just only a very

  149. simple instruction. It's just like somebody say, come, let's go downstairs. Come,

  150. let's go upstairs. Come, let's do this place and so on.

  151. It is not just come letters when Jesus said something

  152. like this, it is something more than that.

  153. And we know that this is what has happened.

  154. Let's all read together the first part in verse thirty five,

  155. verse thirty six.

  156. Do you have it?

  157. The next lighter and the next light we have Okay,

  158. let's already together. On that day, when evening had come,

  159. he said to them, let us go across to the

  160. other side, And leaving the crowd, they took him with

  161. them in the boat just as it was, and other

  162. boats were with him, so we know the whole scenario. Okay,

  163. So and Jesus have only one instruction. Let us go

  164. across to the other side. And this is in reference

  165. to the Sea of Galilee or Lake of Galilee. And actually,

  166. if you, if you were one of those disciples, you

  167. would think, wow, there's no certain very very simple and

  168. going across.

  169. They are so used to it.

  170. You know, they have fish there, they have many stories

  171. they can tell you about the Seal, Galilee, etc.

  172. So Jesus asking us to go across there know swet. Okay,

  173. we go across because they are so familiar with it.

  174. But if we actually analyze it, there were many unknowns.

  175. And it's the first point that I want to bring

  176. across to you.

  177. When Jesus asks us to go across to the other side,

  178. there are things which we do not know, just like

  179. they do not know that Jesus is going to ask

  180. them to be fishes of men. They don't understand what

  181. Jesus was talking about. As we look at it. The

  182. first unknown, the first point that I want to bring

  183. to is the unknown, the unknown factor which you and

  184. I would also normally will come into the situations that

  185. we're not sure how.

  186. It's going to be. Where are we going, you know,

  187. go across that? We know? Yeah, but why go across

  188. the other side? Why not just stay here? We have many, many,

  189. many questions it's on.

  190. But with Jesus, when he says, let us go to

  191. the other side, he didn't tell them tell them the reason.

  192. But there are three things that I had noticed even

  193. as I think about unknown. Number one is Jesus who

  194. has invited them over all, right, is Jesus call okay?

  195. I hope that this is what your your your you're

  196. thinking now.

  197. Jesus is calling you to go. You could be a

  198. decision that you are to make.

  199. It could be something that you have that is pressing

  200. on your mind and so on, but you're not sure

  201. what's going on. It's one but Jesus say come let

  202. me let's go across to the other side.

  203. It's just a very simple instruction.

  204. But I know that when Jesus says that it is

  205. at his invitation, and when it is at his invitation,

  206. we better listen properly because when he says, my sheep,

  207. hear my voice, and they know me and I and

  208. they follow me. I know them, and they follow me.

  209. I give to them eternal life. No one can plug

  210. them out of my hand. They will never perish. And

  211. with Jesus, this is what it is as we even

  212. though it's unknown, he is there with Okay, even though

  213. it's unknown, he's on mission, and he's inviting all his

  214. disciples to be on the mission onto.

  215. The other side.

  216. Whether they know it or not, it doesn't matter, because

  217. they are following Jesus. There's key in discipleship. When we

  218. want to be a disciple of Jesus, we need to

  219. hear his instructions right. And when he says my sheep,

  220. hear my voice. That means we are used to his voice.

  221. That means every time somebody rings, you're you're not sure

  222. now today, even if you see an unknown number, you're

  223. not in your directory.

  224. You don't want to take the call, but you know

  225. when you do take the call, you're not sure. So,

  226. but if you know the person.

  227. Immediately, if the person just say hello, you know who

  228. it is already, all right, because you know the voice.

  229. Am I asking you and asking myself? Do we really

  230. know the voice that Jesus said?

  231. Come?

  232. Let us go across to the other side, because this

  233. is so vital as we listen to him, as we

  234. hear what he has to say, as he guides us instructions,

  235. we need to hear clearly right and uh many many

  236. a time I remember this.

  237. This man came up for ministry. Uh uh. There we

  238. have a visiting speaker, and he came up for to

  239. be prayed for.

  240. And uh he the speaker asked, you know what what

  241. what what do you mean to pray for you? He said,

  242. he pointed to his ears. He's heart of hearing. The

  243. speaker to him, he doesn't know him from Adam, He said,

  244. you know him? He said, I know you.

  245. Uh, what do you mean you know me?

  246. He said, yeah, because you know why you're deaf, because

  247. you don't listen to your wife. Every time your wife

  248. speaks to you, you shut off.

  249. Now go back. You don't need healing, you need this.

  250. Go back, listen to your wife, then you can hear.

  251. Go back, listen to your wife, Go back, listen to Jesus.

  252. Hear his voice, No, his voice, and then when we

  253. go across is something quite unique, even though it's unknown

  254. in the days of old.

  255. The Old Testament is like this too.

  256. Abraham Abraham was told, I want you to peck your backs.

  257. I want you to leave your comfort zone.

  258. I want you to leave your relatives and go to

  259. a place that I will show to you.

  260. Did he know where? He didn't know. In Genesistep twelve

  261. urs one, and this is.

  262. What's going to happen, because you're gonna be a great nation.

  263. Your name will be great Exeter. I didn't even have

  264. a son then yet. And then he says, nations to

  265. be blessed to you.

  266. Wow.

  267. And today you and I are the recipient of the

  268. obedience of Abraham.

  269. He went and sold Jesus.

  270. God gave the covenant that nations would be blessed to you.

  271. Another person who spent forty years in the palace. He

  272. did well, but you know, he did something wrong. And

  273. because he did something wrong, he had to flee for

  274. his life. And he went to look after sheep every day,

  275. talking to sheep every day, talking to until he didn't

  276. know how to talk. Because when God called him, he said,

  277. I stabber's Maybe he spoke like a sheep.

  278. I don't know, but whatever it is. Then he saw

  279. this burning bush.

  280. When he saw this burning bush, was very curious and

  281. he heard his voice, and God says, take off, take.

  282. Of her shoes. Where you are is holy ground.

  283. And in anxious chapter three, chapter three, where where he

  284. heard this, this u the voice and so on, and

  285. this is what the Lord told him that you need

  286. to go. He says, that you need to I'm sending

  287. you to Pharaoh.

  288. That's a place where I escape from.

  289. Is that difficult? When Jesus calls us to go across?

  290. It can be difficult situation. And yet there was another

  291. man who was his assistant, Joshua, one who is really.

  292. Loyal in every way.

  293. Now Moses is dead in Joshu chapter one, and he's

  294. been told, now you lead the people into the Promised land.

  295. He was quite quite jittery about it. That's why every

  296. time we reach chapter one, let's don't look at Joshua

  297. as somebody very young.

  298. You know.

  299. Yeah, he's already eighty years old. All right, He's already

  300. eighty years old. So if you say Joshu generation, don't

  301. think he's young because he lived to one.

  302. And twenty.

  303. But he had assignment. That's why I say, hies, he's

  304. just only a number. As he heard what God said,

  305. and he began to bring this confidence and faith into

  306. his people, and this is what he told them, we

  307. are going.

  308. To cross this.

  309. For forty years, Moses took us around and round and round,

  310. and they saw many miracles.

  311. But this was a new generation that didn't know the

  312. crossing of the Red Sea. And here they are. He says,

  313. in three days, we're going to cross. Consecrate yourself.

  314. In chapter three, verse wife of Joshua, and I would

  315. do amazing things about it.

  316. But in verse four it says like this, Now I

  317. want you to this is what the Lord says. Look

  318. at the arm.

  319. The arm was a symbol of God's presence. Look at

  320. the arm and follow in. I always follow the presence

  321. of the Lord. Let us go across to the other side,

  322. Jesus said, And he was there with them, right, and

  323. so as you were told, because you have never gone

  324. this way before, which is true.

  325. There's a whole new generation.

  326. What I'm trying to bring across is that there are

  327. so many, many, many other incidents like this. Yeah, and

  328. even to Jesus' disciples, it's the same. Jesus was going

  329. the last week of his life, what he was going

  330. to do. He's going to be crucified, et cetera. But

  331. he told them I'm not going to be with you

  332. for long, and they were all quite sad. And chapter

  333. fourteen of John, which he says, let not your heart

  334. be trouble.

  335. You believe in God, believe also in me.

  336. In my Father's house. There are many places I go

  337. to prepare a place or you. And when I go,

  338. I will come again, and where I am you will

  339. be also the way.

  340. Very puzzle, I said.

  341. Thomas, very good, good, good student, he said, but we

  342. don't have GPS how to go. If we were living today,

  343. you will say that disease. But we don't know no

  344. ways how to get there. And then Jesus said, because

  345. if you know me, you know how to go.

  346. I'm the way. If you know me, you know how

  347. to go. I'm the truth. If you know me, you

  348. know how to go.

  349. Because I'm alive. Those who want to go to the

  350. Father must go through me. You understand that. So there

  351. are many unknowns. One when Jesus is telling them, they

  352. really don't quite quite it didn't quite general with them.

  353. So this is the situation when unknown stands us in

  354. our face.

  355. How do we respond?

  356. And even when unknown can have unexpected situation. Let's read

  357. the next part okay, next, okay, let's read together. And

  358. a great windstorm arose and the waves were breaking into

  359. the boat, so that the boat was already feeling next

  360. next life, okay. But he was in the stern, Jesus

  361. asleep on the cushion, and they woke in and said

  362. to him, teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?

  363. Do you not care? We're perishing? So the question is, you.

  364. Know, it seems like the day before when they were

  365. with Jesus, Jesus taught them about the parable or the soler.

  366. Jesus taught them about what it means to be a

  367. witness for him. Jesus taught them about how to have

  368. failed like a mustered seat. It was all amazing teaching,

  369. and so on we read in March of the Tree,

  370. and as sore with them, as Jesus was with him

  371. with them, and they were with Jesus and they heard

  372. all these things, it would seem that, wow, that's amazing.

  373. But when the storm hits them, all the teaching went

  374. into the storm. Teacher, don't you care, teacher, don't you

  375. realize we're perishing? And that's a lot of times what

  376. happened to Why me, what do you say to her,

  377. to a young lady where at the ceremony when they

  378. are signing the register the husband just collapsed three days

  379. in the hospital and he passed away within three days.

  380. She became a widow. What do you say to.

  381. A pastor who did so much for the lord and

  382. so on? And discovered his grandson two not just one

  383. grandson as Hodgkins Slipphomer had to go through four rounds

  384. of chemo, and then with that finish the next boy

  385. with the elder one suddenly felt very dizzy and wanted

  386. to collapse. And when a check got tumor in the brain,

  387. immediate operation.

  388. What do you say to that? How do you say?

  389. What do you say to this young man? Did I

  390. know all these people? I know?

  391. I'm just telling you, And how do you say? How

  392. do you handle it? The storm has come?

  393. What do you do? The unknown may be there. So

  394. when we go through. Jesus didn't promise that everything will

  395. be fine.

  396. He didn't say that there will be no hindrances he

  397. himself had. He didn't say there will be no challenges

  398. he himself had. And the garden of gets so many.

  399. What they say, oh, take this cup away unless you

  400. know not my will, but yours be done.

  401. Three times he said that three times.

  402. The people were supposed to support him in prayer or

  403. sleeping soundly. Can you imagine how lonely Jesus was, And

  404. yet we all know he went and fulfill what God

  405. said he should be doing. When he could say it

  406. is finished, it's because he's completed. As we begin to

  407. revel unravel this these situations, it's on what is it?

  408. There are many hindrances.

  409. That that will come away the challenges, and they could

  410. be internal, they could be external. And illness can hit us,

  411. death can hit us. Sudden loss, okay, fear and doubt.

  412. What do we do financial loss, et cetera? You know,

  413. And we asked this question, why me?

  414. Why me? Hm?

  415. My wife has a nephew on her on the on

  416. the mother's side, and he's a pastor. September he was

  417. told first stage cancer and he had to be colon

  418. cancer and he had to be dealt with and so on.

  419. But he writes very very amazing journal.

  420. I'm up, I'm also down, I rejoice, I'm also said.

  421. He writes all that. Again, he was transparently telling about

  422. what's happening.

  423. But in all these things. He says, I'm more than

  424. conqueror in all these things. If God is for me,

  425. who can be against me? As he handled this thing as.

  426. He as he has, as he has this sta stomach back,

  427. et cetera, and he has to go to the worst

  428. of pain. And one he said, I cried to the Lord.

  429. And then he said, my only victory, the only and

  430. one and only victory. He said, I rejoice in the

  431. Lord every day. You know, I he's founding someone on

  432. in verse twenty four. This is the day that the

  433. Lord has made. I choose to rejoice and be glad

  434. in it. And that's how he handled it.

  435. It's not Master, don't you care?

  436. A lot of times were there, and I confess that

  437. it will happen to me too. And yet, as I

  438. think back, as I begin to understand how Jesus was

  439. dealing this for them, the hindrances and the challenges are

  440. meant to be overcome.

  441. And so how do you come? Don't you know?

  442. In some forty six years one, I'm your refuge when

  443. you are going to the storm. I'm your strength when

  444. you are going to the storm. I'm your helper when

  445. you're in crisis.

  446. Do you see it? Do you know it? You say,

  447. pastor you can see so glibly?

  448. No, Because I've gone through it myself. I know what

  449. it means to go to the pain or what I

  450. don't expect should be. And he says, happened, And when

  451. it happens, how do I handle it? I remember coming

  452. back from my mission trip from India. It was an amazing,

  453. amazing time of sharing and so a lot of people

  454. come to know the Lord. But in between there was

  455. a hit on me and I felt very sick. I

  456. came back just lie down. Every day I couldn't get up.

  457. And my wife said, he, you remember, we set one principle.

  458. Every time we're down, we rejoice. Every time we're down,

  459. we will be glad. Every time we're down, we'll sing praises.

  460. And I remember I was lying down there.

  461. Very weak.

  462. I got up and we started singing and so on,

  463. and strength came upon me. Strength came upon me enough

  464. for me to be able to on that Sunday to

  465. be with the congregation and see stand and say, God.

  466. Is my victory. Look, I've gone to that.

  467. And I understand my own weakness in that, in that

  468. weakness of lying down there, and said Lord.

  469. Where are you? It's not Lord, where are you? Lord?

  470. I rejoice in you. And I've learned this again and

  471. again through all the different situations that I've gone through.

  472. That's why Paul told Timothy. He says, young Timothy, you're

  473. a pastor. Young you have got a lot of issues.

  474. But I want to tell you God did not give

  475. us a spirit of fear.

  476. But God is given what a spirit of love, a

  477. spirit of power, a spirit.

  478. Of sound mind.

  479. We need that power to extend it about who God

  480. is in our lives. We need that loved to overcome. Ah,

  481. there's a there's a bassa song said uh Manala khans Gala.

  482. God's love conquers everything. And I remember this very young

  483. man who stood at a pulpit and and and said

  484. I will never never never. He said three times, I

  485. say you sound like some like Peter never never never.

  486. And he was giving his testimony. He said, his.

  487. Father passed away, his mother in six months. I passed away,

  488. he said, within six months.

  489. I became an often and I was angry with God

  490. even though I believe in him. But you know, do

  491. you know why I can stand up here talking to you?

  492. He said in his testimony, I would tell you because

  493. even though I never, never, never believe in God anymore,

  494. but my grandma believe in God ever.

  495. Ever, ever. And that's that's how I came to know

  496. the Lord.

  497. She loved me without any strings attached. She loved me

  498. all the way despite my anger and all that. She

  499. knew how to praise God, she knew how to look

  500. up to God. The hindrances and challenges are there, but

  501. she didn't see the challenges. She saw Jesus in the

  502. midst of the storm. And I pray that this would

  503. be so for you as we look into this. And

  504. because Jesus, because of the unknown, because of the hindrance

  505. and challenges, I want to say to you, every challenge

  506. will have assurance and promise. Let's get onto the next

  507. next slide. The assurance and promise comes when we go

  508. on to the other side. There is assurance.

  509. Jesus said, come, let's cross over in others. I'm there,

  510. ma ah, So what what? What? What happens there? Because

  511. Jesus cares. Yeah, he cares.

  512. Don't you care, No, he cares because if the ship,

  513. if the boat goes down, he goes down together with

  514. them too. They're assured in Jesus' presence number two, then Jesus. No,

  515. only Jesus cares. Jesus was there with them. His presence

  516. need to be Sometimes it is not like just like that.

  517. I remember going across a huge bridge over in Bangladesh

  518. and there was a big storm. We could literally feel

  519. the vehicle moving with the wind and so on.

  520. That's how scary it was. I told the driver, let's stop,

  521. and all of us, the whole team.

  522. They won the mission trip, and we say, let's pray

  523. as you pray, well, rejoice as you pray as we rejoice.

  524. It's not that we did what Jesus did. Later on,

  525. we're going to read that, you know, be still and come.

  526. We just did that because we declare the name of

  527. the Lord. The vans stopped. There was no more movement, not.

  528. Because of us, because Jesus was with them, and Jesus

  529. was with us, and because why do we look to him?

  530. Because he is in charge of everything, He is in control,

  531. and he is a lord of all.

  532. Amen.

  533. So if he's a lot of all, then what have

  534. we to lose in understanding who is in Colossi stepter

  535. one sixteen. This is what he says, you know, and

  536. let's look at it. In all things that were created,

  537. includes everything things in heaven, on earth, visible invisible thrones, powers, rulers, authority.

  538. All things have been created to him and for him.

  539. He's before all things, and in him all things hold together. Okay,

  540. So that's how the Lord is teaching me and teaching

  541. I pray as disciples of Jesus to trust him. Even

  542. after three and a half years they went back on him.

  543. You know, they didn't they didn't do what he expected.

  544. He never lost over them.

  545. And because he didn't lose hope, we can also identify

  546. he doesn't lose hope on ass he still cares and

  547. so on.

  548. My boy is ministering.

  549. You know when God God gives this situation by always

  550. helping a widow.

  551. That has got three children. They call it Huntington disease.

  552. I don't know whether you know. It means you lose

  553. all control.

  554. Half the time you're shicking checking all the time you

  555. know you're shacking is on. I remember the Father also

  556. has this Huntington. He came to know the law because

  557. he came to our church and we pray for him.

  558. He was not here. He died having Huntington, but he

  559. came to know Jesus.

  560. But this widow, looking at all this and all her children,

  561. said why am I you know? She said, why am

  562. I pim pimer.

  563. Bad liver, bad luck? Yeah, she is like almost cursing.

  564. God is on And my wife said, I have not

  565. given up on you.

  566. I refuse to give up on you.

  567. You know why, because God is in control and he

  568. doesn't give up on you, and I cannot, and I

  569. refuse to give up on you. And today some things

  570. have happened. There is steps to healing and freedom.

  571. That's because why we don't give up.

  572. Jesus, never give up on you, and so we do

  573. not give up on those whom, especially those whom we

  574. think we don't like. You know, I like this this,

  575. this song. He says, you know, my love is love unknown,

  576. love love to the lovely that I'm that sorry, my lord.

  577. Love is love unknown, love to the lovely, shown that

  578. they might lovely be. Wow, that's very very in this

  579. old English love loveless shown that they might lovely be.

  580. And I pray that you and I as we want

  581. to follow Jesus. This is what it is that he holds.

  582. Everything in his hands.

  583. Let's get onto the next next reference, yeah, next life.

  584. And he said to them, why are you so afraid?

  585. Have you still no faith? Was Jesus holding them? No.

  586. Jesus is saying, you have been with me, You've seen

  587. what's happened, and yet you still say I don't care.

  588. Of course I can. I care. And this morning he's

  589. saying to you if you are going to some storm,

  590. Jesus saying to you, I'm with you.

  591. I care.

  592. Because I care, you can be rest assured.

  593. I like the way Paul shared with the Romans, and

  594. almost in conclusion for all that he has said in

  595. the Letter of Romans in Romans, chapter fifteen, verse thirteen,

  596. he says.

  597. Me, the God of Hope fill you with all joy and.

  598. Peace as you overflow with hope and trust him by

  599. the power the Holy Spirit.

  600. And I want to say to you even this morning,

  601. whatever that you're going through, where.

  602. Is your focus?

  603. A lot of times we focus on our cells, and

  604. then that's our folly. We focus on our own problems.

  605. I like when I was sharing with the whole grow panuns.

  606. I remember over a thousand of them. Yeah, over in

  607. long Kavok in Barram and there's a great revival going

  608. on there. But that day when I was supposed to

  609. share power cut, no no electricity, so no even mike.

  610. How do you speak to a thousand A thousand group

  611. people were in an open hall, you know, with a

  612. roof but all sides open.

  613. How do you speak to them? You can't, So I say, said,

  614. Holy Spirit, you take over. I don't know what to do,

  615. but I know that you can do it. So I

  616. just said, everyone, if you if you.

  617. Can hear me, yeah, okay, now you keep quiet. I

  618. only want the people.

  619. At the back.

  620. So as I said, if you at the back of

  621. the last room you can hear me, put up your

  622. hands and they all put up their hands. Walk thank you,

  623. thank you for the re enactment. And they all put

  624. up their hands. I said, oh, come, we can go in.

  625. And then I said, I look at your faces. I

  626. know you you are waiting for me to share something,

  627. but you're worried. You're h muka camu sum mass allah

  628. with problem with your power cut.

  629. How is it going to share her? They're all more

  630. worried for me than I'm worried for them.

  631. As I look at them, I said, ah, you talk

  632. pakatan mass allah mass Allah. When we focus on problems

  633. mass allah. Then we only are caught by the massa Allah. Now,

  634. don't look at massa allah, look at massa Allah.

  635. It's okay.

  636. One decide, massa allah, massa allah, masa Allah. Suddenly the

  637. whole audience all shook up and said, this is the

  638. time of the Lord.

  639. This is his time for such a time as this.

  640. We may have hindrances and problems, but God is there.

  641. This is God's timing. And massa allah, I hope you

  642. catch it so that every time we begin, why have

  643. you no faith? It's not because of this is God's timing.

  644. The unknown is there, the hindrances are there, but the

  645. assurance that I am with you, okay. And so the

  646. focus should be where am I looking at? The focus

  647. should be who am I looking at?

  648. Yeah.

  649. So that's why Jesus when this thing happened, when he

  650. calmed the storm and so on, they.

  651. Were wondering who this person is.

  652. And as we look at at what God is saying

  653. to you, to all of us, and so on, you.

  654. See you.

  655. When the Summi says like this in Some one to one,

  656. verse one and two, he says that like this, when

  657. I look at the hills, some of you you're gone

  658. onto the mountain, and he's like, if you have climb

  659. up monk and abado, Wow, the.

  660. View is amazing.

  661. If you've gone down Grand Canyon, the canyon seem to

  662. change face all the time. Yeah, it's amazing talenty. Right

  663. as you look at the creation, what do you do?

  664. You look at.

  665. The creator, not the creation. I said, look, lift up

  666. my eyes to the heels. Where does my health come from?

  667. My Habit comes from the Lord who has made heaven

  668. and earth.

  669. He has made you, he has made me. He knows

  670. you wonderfully and fearfully from he knows me, and you

  671. as apple of his eye.

  672. You are special to him. He died for you, passionately.

  673. He died for you obediently. He died for you so

  674. that you don't need to take that punishment that you deserve.

  675. And that's mercy. And now he says, come, you should

  676. receive me.

  677. You believe me. You have the right to become a

  678. child of God. That's grace. God takes you and me

  679. as the children.

  680. Can you catch it? If you catch it, then you

  681. begin to understand. There was a king in the Old

  682. Testament called King Joseph. King Joseph was his kingdom was

  683. surrounded by a vast army, the Bible tells us in

  684. two Chronicles of the twenty and when he was up,

  685. the scripture says industry, he was alarmed. Alarm is an understatement.

  686. He's probably peeing in his pens. You justn't know what's

  687. going on, what he's going to do. And so, hey,

  688. what do you do? You didn't say, oh y, this

  689. is bad? Why how come you this thing's happening now? No, no, no, no,

  690. Call the whole people, every from children, run up to

  691. the leaders and so on. Let's worship the Lord and pray.

  692. And in verse twelve of two Chronicles of the twenties

  693. is God.

  694. We're all surrounded.

  695. We don't know what to do, but our eyes are

  696. upon you. And then the Lord gave them this assurance.

  697. The battle is not yours, but the lords. You will

  698. be delivered.

  699. You stand and rejoice in me.

  700. And as we begin to understand this, this is running

  701. against the current of most what people will tell you,

  702. a lot of people who come and see you.

  703. I like the way this.

  704. My friend, who had the worst of cancer already, is

  705. almost skin and bones.

  706. When I went to see him, I look at him. Oh,

  707. he's a good friend. By I said, wow, what is israelly?

  708. And then you know, in his own effort, he crossed

  709. my hand and he said, Sen Joe.

  710. And you couldn't speak very well too, send John rejoice

  711. in the Lord.

  712. Wow, I look at him.

  713. I'm almost in tears for him. Still rejoice in the Lord.

  714. He taught me something. Jesus taught me something to him.

  715. My eyes are upon you. He bruised up the twelve

  716. US two says, let us fix our eyes on him.

  717. He's the author and the perfect of our faith. He's

  718. the beginning and the end. And as you begin to

  719. look at what God is saying to you, fix your

  720. eyes upout him.

  721. Some that this seven some thirty seventh verse I think

  722. it's verse seven. Yeah, verse thirty seven, verse five. Commit

  723. your way to the Lord.

  724. Trust in him, and he will do it. He will

  725. do it as we call on the Lord. Yeah.

  726. He's the one who will grunt to us, and understanding

  727. that I will answer you. I will show you great

  728. and mindy things which you do not know. How many

  729. of you know this man called doctor Philip Liddle. If

  730. you have watched his podcast, maybe your should get He's

  731. just a month ago, I was told, and then I

  732. texted him, is it true? He said, yes, he's been

  733. diagnosed with nasal cancer for stage's. I mean, the Lord

  734. is used him so much. No, And I was just wondering.

  735. But then you know in the podcast is I said,

  736. don't look at me, no my illness, look at the Lord.

  737. And here's a man who deliberately did that podcast to

  738. encourage every one of us. He said, create an atmosphere

  739. of prayer, of healing.

  740. So that I'll be lifted up.

  741. And this is what happened to this pastor who is

  742. by accident now and he struggled with cancer for nine

  743. years and this last one, he says, I'm going in

  744. for two more operations, one on the rip and one

  745. on the on my femur. And he said, please pray

  746. for me. I said, pray for him. He texts me

  747. just yesterday. I'm shocked and surprised. I said why, and

  748. Eddie told me in two days after the operation is

  749. a very dangerous operation. He could puncture his lungs, which

  750. is affected by cancer and also by his He said,

  751. I cannot sit down because I know I have cancer

  752. all eaten up my bones.

  753. He had the operation and within two days. He said,

  754. I just went so painful in the WhatsApp. He's so painful.

  755. But when I call on the Lord, and I.

  756. Remember Jeremiah to the three Tree, call on me, and

  757. I will answer you and show you great and mighty

  758. things which you do not know. And as he said

  759. I call on the Lord, I didn't say, God, where

  760. are you?

  761. Because I know He's with me.

  762. And then I felt a sense of being lifted up.

  763. He texts me, he said, I'm being discharged today.

  764. We did two days.

  765. I will rest at home in the presence of the Lord.

  766. Why am I telling all this? It's not because they

  767. are great guys. Oh God is great in them. That's

  768. the difference. So as we look at that, then we

  769. realize that if there are assurances and promises when we

  770. go on mission with Jesus. Our sister shared concerning the power. Yeah,

  771. I've been there a few few times. I know what

  772. she's talking about. Yeah, and it's difficult. It's difficult, and

  773. yet we know that it is in the difficulty the

  774. opportunities are there.

  775. And that's the opportunity. Oh how did the go down there? Yeah,

  776. it's okay.

  777. Yeah, the opportunities are there if you read Mark chapter five.

  778. You see that ended, and Mark chapter five. What happened if.

  779. They had said, ah, too late and no need to

  780. go over to the other side.

  781. Ah, we're tired of let's rest this side.

  782. And then because they went to the storm, it taught

  783. them something because opportunities I hate of you. They saw

  784. for the first time in their own in their life,

  785. they saw a man who was living among the tombs

  786. and we change.

  787. That are broken. You're so strong.

  788. Yeah, nobody can actually control him. And the scripture tells

  789. us when they saw Jesus, he shouted, he shouted, he shouted,

  790. and then Jesus cast out the demons from him. First

  791. time they're saying something like this. First time, they're saying

  792. that somebody out of control can be under Jesus' control.

  793. For the first time, they saw a storm that is

  794. out of control can come under Jesus and said, be

  795. still and the sees will come.

  796. Who is this person? And that's why Jesus said, why

  797. have you no faith?

  798. It's not a chiding them, it's encouraging them to write,

  799. He's up to this situation and understand that Jesus is

  800. in control. And when they saw that there was an

  801. amazing opportunity. God wants to give to us opportunities upon opportunities,

  802. open doors.

  803. Are you ready for it?

  804. Because they saw and witness and mark records for us.

  805. What an amazing testimony of.

  806. What has happened.

  807. All of you have got stories, if you have experienced God,

  808. you have got stories to tell.

  809. Yeah.

  810. Sure, as I said, just now, I visit death row people,

  811. I remember Murti.

  812. Murti is a local guy and he killed somebody.

  813. He's been in prison for almost when I when I

  814. saw him that time, it's over eight years already waiting.

  815. Can you imagine on death row? Eight years waiting for

  816. all the appeals austral etc. Court cases and finally told sorry.

  817. No way, you have to be hanged.

  818. He was very discouraged by He attended our chapel service

  819. which I go to with a barrier, and uh as

  820. I share with him. Oh, he was so good. He

  821. will wrap up his Bible. He's a Demil speaking eye.

  822. I learned Tamil from him, and you know and that

  823. he will tell me.

  824. Which worse et cetera. And one very sincere.

  825. And he was one of those guys which I never

  826. imagine I could do it. I baptized three guys. That

  827. was a first and the last time, and he was

  828. one of them, Mooty. Some time I didn't see Mooti.

  829. I know what happened to him. And then eight months

  830. later suddenly appeared at our meeting and I look at it.

  831. I say, Mooty, what happened? I lost focus. I wanted

  832. to hang myself.

  833. He tried, by he he didn't succeed. He fell, and.

  834. When he fell they put him in solitary confinement to

  835. keep him away from the rest. In the prison, they say,

  836. if you are like this, aye sudamaso or that, so

  837. you already cannot think properly.

  838. Or when he was well, he came and he shaid

  839. with me this story. When I gave up on myself,

  840. Jesus didn't give up on me. And I know why.

  841. Today Mooti is free. He's already been given a different

  842. sentence instead of death time sentence. And because he said

  843. so many years he's been set free.

  844. Why am I saying this.

  845. I'm saying to you, opportunities are there, and you have

  846. a God story. And Muti told the God story in

  847. such a way to say that I will now continue

  848. to follow Jesus the opportunities are there. Jesus said, I

  849. will in revelation tip the tree verus a disease. I

  850. have opened a door so no one can shut it.

  851. And God is opening doors for you with your family.

  852. How many of you have families which you haven't come

  853. to know the Lord? Your family? Opportunities are there, and

  854. when Jesus is in the storm with you, comes the

  855. storm for you, brings you to opportunities to fulfill God's purpose.

  856. That's who he is.

  857. But it requires commitment to him. People don't like this

  858. word commitment, but that's what it is. If you're not committed,

  859. you're not accountable. If you're not accountable, you just live

  860. very ah. Just in Basa we say, then chara siasia,

  861. not just just routine, not really important. Sorry, Following Jesus

  862. cannot be charasia.

  863. Following Jesus is just what Jesus said.

  864. If you, if if anyone comes after me and looked

  865. at the nine verse twenty three, he must deny himself,

  866. deny himself.

  867. It is not sasi. I know it means that. In

  868. another version in the Bassa say, dear mister.

  869. Lupa Kandiri, it means we forget ourselves, and then we

  870. deserve to carry his cross. When we carry his cross

  871. is because we carry his mission. And as we carry

  872. his mission, we fulfill his tasks.

  873. That's why when.

  874. Jesus on the cross says it is finished, it's based

  875. on John chapter four, verse thirty four. My food is

  876. to do the will of him will send me, and

  877. to finish it. When we do that, we're committed to him. Then, Paul,

  878. encouraging the Christians in Rome, said, I beseech you, therefore,

  879. my brothers and sisters.

  880. That you offer your body as.

  881. A living sacrifice wholly unacceptable to him, which is your

  882. reasonable worship. How do we show that we are disciples?

  883. We cannot owing. God must transform us.

  884. And when he transform us, that's like the disciples going

  885. to the storm, transformed by the storm, seeing the opportunities,

  886. transformed by the situation.

  887. And it will go on and on and on.

  888. In Two Corinthians, Step four, verse sixteen, policies like this,

  889. our body may be wasting away, which I think it is.

  890. Every time I think about how come all these things

  891. are happening, It's not how come your body is wasting away? True?

  892. But then you see, but day by day we are

  893. being renewed.

  894. How come we're being renewed because of the situation God

  895. puts for us? And I end with this just understanding

  896. that when they solve Jesus having risen, Jesus had a

  897. lot of how shall they put repair?

  898. What to do?

  899. Firstly, they will restort their confidence because they're also afraid.

  900. That's why Peter can see Jus for yourself. We all

  901. big men.

  902. Or big God. Yeah, that's how it is. When they

  903. were threatened, they went back to pray.

  904. God did threaten us, but give us greater boldness to.

  905. Declare who you are.

  906. The resurrection, when Jesus rose again, restored their confidence, renewed

  907. their faith. Why because you shall be my witnesses? How

  908. because you'll be empowered x one eight. And when they

  909. were renewed in there in their faith, they were reassigned

  910. with their calling be a witness for me. You are

  911. my witnesses.

  912. Jesus didn't accuse Peter. Why you deny me? No, Jesus

  913. just ask him do you love me? Do you love me?

  914. Do you love me? Jesus asking you this.

  915. If you are committed to him, then he will reassign

  916. your calling to do what he wants.

  917. You to do.
