You're listening to a message to go from axt church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
Proverbs in the Old Testament. In Proverbs fifteen, verse eight,
-
now I put the scripture up, okay, because today a
-
little bit more scripture. Okay, So hence there's not one
-
long text. But please turn to your bibles with me. Okay.
-
You bought your bibles alone, yes, okay, So why I
-
say turned to your Bible. Maybe I accidentally type wrongly,
-
or you have a different version, and you can learn
-
from both of the versions. Okay. So the scripture that
-
I'm showing will be mainly all from the New Living Translation,
-
but sometimes I will use the New King James, and
-
I'll indicate that. Okay. So let's do a Proverbs fifteen,
-
verse eight, it says the Lord detests the sacrifice of
-
the wicked, but he delights in the prayers of the upright. Now,
-
I'm not so much talking about the first part of
-
the verse, but I'm mainly speaking on the second part.
-
He delights in the prayers of the upright. Do you
-
know that you are upright seated today here in the
-
presence of God because of what Jesus has done amen,
-
not that we deserve it, but he in him, we
-
have been made upright, immed. And because we are upright,
-
he delights in your prayer. Now, do you know the
-
word delight is a strong word, indicates a strong pleasure,
-
a keen interest. That means Jesus, God is very interested
-
in your prayer. Okay, good news, isn't it? Good news? Okay?
-
God is very interested in your prayer. But that's of
-
course if you are upright, and we are all upright
-
here again by the grace and by the blood Jesus, immen,
-
we are upright when we are sincere, when we come
-
to God with prayer, he delights in our prayer. He
-
loves to hear us. Immen. Now, So there's the Old Testament.
-
Now going to the New Testament. We also have many scripture,
-
and all of it I will quote. One is what
-
Jesus say, okay, emphasizing that God wants to us to pray.
-
So there is also action on outside that we must
-
pray like okay, pray and he wants us to receive
-
what we pray for. So that is the review. Let
-
mess our God. It's not hiding it from us. No,
-
it's a secret. No, he revealed it to us. The
-
will of God for every believer is that we should
-
pray and that we should receive. Now why do I
-
say this because it's found in God's word. Now let's
-
look at gospels. So we're going to go from Matthew
-
to Mark to John. Okay, okay, So from Matthew. So
-
the first gospel in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter seven,
-
verse seven to eight. Now we're going to capture the
-
words of Jesus. But remember the gospels are all written
-
by different people, right, so different decip different ones capture
-
what Jesus said, maybe from a different perspective, and we
-
put it all together and we can see it all. Right.
-
So Matthew seven, verse seven to eight is Jesus said,
-
keep on asking and you will receive what you ask for.
-
Keep on seeking and you're fine. Keep on knocking and
-
the door will be open to you. You notice it
-
is very specific. Jesus didn't say ask one timer, and
-
it's not asking or just not one time, but it's
-
the He emphasized the keeping on That means there's a
-
continuously asking, a continuously seeking and knocking. And then he
-
somewhat added on my chum. In case you not clear,
-
let me give you the punchlinea verse eight for everyone
-
and everyone increases you and I everyone okay, who asks receives,
-
everyone who seeks finds, and to everyone who knocks, the
-
door will be opened. Now. Notice here in two verses
-
any negative statement, any butts no, I would say six times,
-
although it's repeated, but it's six times like a show.
-
Hello the If you don't get me, I'm telling you
-
six times six times. Jesus is telling us God wants
-
you to pray. Of course, by he also wants you
-
to receive what you pray for. Amen. Hallelujah is good news. Amen.
-
If it is courage today, be encouraged today. Hallelujah. Now
-
moving on in Metthiu So Methil a few chapters after,
-
in Mattel twenty one so chapter twenty one, Verse twenty two,
-
Jesus said, you can pray for anything, and if you
-
have faith, you will receive it. Thank you, Jesus. Hallelujah.
-
So simple. One line may be read, Okay, if you
-
can pray for anything and if you have faith you
-
will receive it. Jesus is directly straight to the point.
-
No foulhafu high here one. Okay. Now we look at
-
another gospel, okay, the Gospel of Mark, chapter eleven, verse
-
twenty four. And I feel this one is a direct
-
parallel verse to the one we read in Mattew twenty one.
-
It says, in Mark eleven twenty four, I tell you
-
you can pray for anything, and if you believe that
-
you have received it, it will be yours. So it
-
also explains what it means to have faith. Okay, So
-
if you have faith, that means you believe that you
-
have received it will be your Amen, Church a man, Amen, Church, Amen,
-
Amen to God's word. Not to mean I'm not I say. Okay.
-
Now let's look into the Gospel of John and see
-
what the apostle John wrote. So you saw what written
-
the Mark Matthew. Now John chapter fourteen, verse thirteen to fourteen.
-
Thank you. You can ask for anything in my name,
-
same thing, different authors, by the way, same thing, And
-
I would do it, Jesus said, so that Ah. But
-
God added on stuff here okay, to let us understand
-
sometimes the purpose and how and some of Okay, Now
-
where am I getting to is there are conditions? Now, okay,
-
there are certain conditions that needs to be met as well.
-
All right, So they are letting us in so that
-
the Son, as in the Son of God, can bring
-
glory to the Father. Amen. Verse fourteen. Yes, ask me
-
for anything in whose name, not my name, not your name,
-
in Jesus's name, and I will do it. So you
-
can see a few points here. Is to glorify God
-
is to ask in his name. John fifteen. One chapter
-
after that, Jesus continue the talk. Just thought the Lord
-
very good, very good, not in a bad way. Okay.
-
But if you remain in me hahah, and my words
-
remain in you John fifteen, you may ask for anything
-
you want and it will be granted because some more
-
conditions and all you must remain in God and allow
-
God's work to remain in earth. Amen. Now last one,
-
at least for now, John sixteen. Not a chapter again.
-
Verse twenty four. Jesus say, you haven't done this before,
-
ask using my name, and you will receive. And then
-
he didn't stop there, but did he say, and you
-
will have abandoned joy. That is the God that we serve. Hallelujah.
-
You're excited. I'm excited that. So I was telling the
-
am Church when I was preparing this. I strugg go
-
at the beginning. I stull get the longest at the beginning.
-
You know why? It's so simple? And yet God was
-
asking me, Joe, do you really believe that I'm hearing
-
your prayer? Because sometimes I admit, right, we pray, but
-
we don't think God really hears our prayer. One, but
-
we feel we have to pray. That it's our job,
-
our duty to pray. But never my lo, God, if
-
you don't hear me, never mind, No, it's not never mind.
-
God wants to hear a prayer. Amen, amen, but just me,
-
I confess, all right. Then it's a reminder, Jode, I
-
hurt you. I will take care of you. Don't worry,
-
okay for example? All right? Yes, so yes, so amen.
-
So Jesus challenged us. But you know this, God got
-
action on outside on every time it's got us ask
-
us want to pray, pray, prayer that it's not like
-
you just sit there doing nothing and then give okay,
-
there's also action on outside. All right, But isn't it
-
wonderful to know that the creator of the whole universe
-
is interested in our prayer and he is waiting to
-
answer our prayer. Amen. Okay, So just from the just
-
from these few verses, it's definitely not only this, but
-
just from these few verses, I drove out a few points. Firstly,
-
we have to ask next night, thank you xtiv. We
-
have to ask, and then we have to have faith.
-
And then it was explained in two of the Gospels,
-
meaning we have to believe that we have received Amen.
-
And then we have to ask in Jesus's name. And
-
then I put record right purpose that mis Your purpose
-
of you asking is so that the Father will be glorified, Amen,
-
and that we will have abundant joy. You see how
-
God never leave us out w I know Cau also
-
care that you have abundant joy. Amen. God is a
-
good God. Amen. Amen. So what is so the question
-
would be what is the motive of our prayer? What
-
is the motive that's acceptable to God? It is that
-
God may be glorified? And do you know why God
-
wants to answer our prayer? Because He will be glorified
-
when He answers our prayer. Amen. So the more we
-
claim God's promises, the more God will be glorified. Amen.
-
And the last point we have to remain in Jesus
-
and have His word remain in us halleliah Imen. But
-
this is just an introduction, okay, and I won't be
-
talking about this maybe part two if I ever speak again,
-
lentity if I well, no worries, okay, but maybe eight am.
-
I will continue. But today, following our here, I first
-
of all, I want to establish this as an introduction
-
because I will go into some principles and some conditions
-
for effective prayer. I will just touch on three points today.
-
But even as we go into that, let us not forget,
-
as I said, now that we look into God's word,
-
that we believe that God hears our prayer, imen, and
-
that God wants to answer our prayer. Amen. So on
-
that premises we will go on in our message today,
-
will be good tend to the church. Yes, that God
-
really wants us to pray, and God really hears us,
-
and he really wants to answer our prayer. Amen. I'm
-
going to go to three basic principles or conditions for
-
approaching God in prayers so that our prayer will be effective.
-
Do you want your prayer to be effective? I want
-
my prayer to be effective, Amen. So I'll just touch
-
on treatings. Firstly, I summarize first, so that I give
-
you the whole view. First. It's a very typical good
-
thing I am. And today we're gonna achieve. Okay, okay,
-
you want to. We should approach God with praise and thanksgiving. Amen.
-
We should approach God without condemnation, and we will look
-
into God's word. And we need to approach God with
-
right relationships so that our prayers will not be hindered,
-
our prayers will be answered. Amen. Are we ready? Yes?
-
We are ready? All right? Come, So the first one
-
we need to approach God, we praise and thanksgiving. So
-
now we all know, and I'm sure we all heard
-
this message before. We don't praise God based on our feelings.
-
We praise God because of the truth of who he is. Amen.
-
And because He is God and he doesn't change his goodness,
-
his mercy and yours forever that we sung just now,
-
that's why we will always have a reason to praise
-
Him and thank Him. So the praising and thanking God
-
is not dependent on our situation, our circumstances, or our feelings. Meaning,
-
if your boss is nice to you, then you praise God.
-
What's not nice to you, then you don't pray God
-
so it's not dependent on that. So we go into
-
another realm where we are writing on the truth of
-
God's love, meaning that's who God is. I praise God
-
because God is good regardless of what is going on
-
about me, and I'm sure we all know that, all right. Yeah,
-
So we don't praise God based on the things that
-
are happening. Now, if we don't do that, because the
-
word of God, which I will bring us later on,
-
we will see that the way to access to God
-
is the way of praise and thanksgiving, and there's no
-
other way, all right. So if we don't come to
-
God we pray and thanksgiving, we will be praying. So
-
we're talking about prayer now, we will be praying from Afar.
-
And that's why sometimes maybe we feel like God is
-
very distant from us. All right. So let's look at
-
Psalms hundred. Now some hundreds is a very famous sum,
-
and usually worship leaders I like to, you know, we
-
declare this some at the start because it's correct, it's
-
biblically correct, and we've got to come into what His
-
gates with thanksgiving, isn't it. So let's look adverse. For
-
in Psalms hundred, it says, enter his gates with thanksgiving,
-
go into his courts, praise, give thanks to him, and
-
praise his name. So what is the gate here? What's
-
the gate thanksgiving? Now? How do you enter? Any you enter?
-
Or the dollar? So in other words, like the dollar.
-
All right, the door or the gate is thanksgiving. Now
-
you don't climb over the fence, right, the climb over
-
the fans are who thieves? And all? Okay, we are
-
children of God right now we don't know, so we
-
go to the gate. So the gate is thanksgiving, and
-
the cord of access into God's presence is praise. Hallelujah.
-
In the word of God. The gate is thanksgiving. The
-
cord of access is praise. So if you don't come
-
with thanks and praise, we actually don't have access into
-
the process of God. So sometimes you may say that,
-
how come I don't feel the presence of God because
-
you never come to the gate? Law, okay, the gate
-
is thanksgiving? All right? Yeah, all right? And you may
-
feel lonely. You may feel lonely. You feel like, oh,
-
I won't do my quiet time, but I don't feel
-
like I don't feel God is here. Maybe you haven't
-
entered the gate all right, okay, so you got to enter,
-
all right. And sometimes we do feel lonely, we do
-
feel shut off, we feel we move, we feel God
-
is far away from us. But that's when we should
-
begin to praise and to thank him. Amen. And do
-
you know that the petition part, that your prayer part,
-
the asking part, doesn't take very long because God already
-
know your needs. So that's why God always teaches us
-
you go first with praise and thanksgiving. Then you then
-
when you come right into the process of God. Huh,
-
you give up all you give your by the time
-
you want to pray by you're like Jesus, I know
-
you would do it all for me. True or not,
-
it happens to all of us. Amen. Amen. So it's
-
going into that relationship with God first where we know
-
that then whatever you pray God, here's your prayer. Amen,
-
and God will do it. Amen. And we pray according
-
to His will. Now New Testament. So that was Psalm
-
hundred and four. Now Philippians for six and some of
-
us can memorize this or so what does it say?
-
Don't worry? All right? So Philippines for six says, don't
-
worry about anything. This is a new living transition in
-
the new King, James will be be anxious of nothing. Instead,
-
pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him.
-
That means that even before you get your answer, you
-
are thanking the Lord for all that he has done.
-
All right, Amen, So never withhold the thanksgiving part. And
-
as we begin to thank God for who he is
-
for what he has already done, faith will arise naturally
-
in our hearts even before we even pray for our needs. Amen.
-
So again I conclude this for this point. The means
-
of access to God, or the only way into His presence,
-
is the way of thanksgiving and praise. So enter into
-
his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts we praise.
-
So before we can begin our petitions, always take time
-
to thank and to praise God. So my question for
-
us today have we did this morning when we worship together?
-
Of course, yeah, we worship, you know this morning? Have
-
we entered into His presence? You could to ask ourselves
-
the I really enter into His presence? Amen? And I pray.
-
My prayer is that all of us every Sunday when
-
we come together as a body of Christ, but of
-
course individually in your marketplace, in your room daily. That's
-
what really comes actually here. But here you got people
-
to pray together with you and worship together with you.
-
Do it right now, I feel and one day I
-
one Sunday, I miss Sunday. I feel the difference on
-
know then you go back to your Monday to Saturday.
-
Oh yo, how I miss the Sunday because you are
-
gathering together with the body of Christ. Imen. So every
-
time we come together, come into God's presence. Immen amen.
-
So that's the first point. We approach God in prayer
-
with praise and thanksgiving right now. Moving on, we approach
-
God in prayer without condemnation. Okay. So in other words,
-
we have to approach God boldly. Now I want to
-
refer us to some sixty six. Okay, some city six. Now,
-
some sexy six. I'm not too sure who's the author.
-
It could be King David. It may not be him,
-
but somehow it did not indicate it was him. It
-
could be it sounds like him. Okay. Now, let's read
-
verse eighteen in Psalm sixty six. The Psalmi said, if
-
I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the
-
Lord would not have listened. Okay. So this is the
-
new living translation in the New King James. Maybe some
-
of you are more familiar. If I regard iniquity in
-
my heart, the Lord, we're not here. So what does
-
it mean if I regard iniquity in my heart, or
-
if I don't confess the sin in my heart? It
-
just means that I'm coming to God. But I'm conscious.
-
I'm conscious of in my heart of something that condemns me. Okay.
-
And every time I try to approach God with faith,
-
Satan will come and remind me of this thing that
-
is not right, and that you have not dealt this,
-
with this, with that, with that, but sin. Maybe that
-
you have not confessed, or you or even if you
-
have confessed, you have not claim and received forgiveness from God. Amen. Now,
-
So I'm conscious of this thing in my heart all
-
the time. And if I come and this is what
-
we call a guilty conscious okay, So you come to
-
God with this condemnation, we will not receive the answer
-
to our prayers, it says in God's word. All right,
-
So we must first remove this consciousness of sin from
-
our hearts, and this can only be done by faith.
-
So I want to turn us to first John one nine.
-
It's one of my favorite verses because it helps us
-
claim and shut off the voice of the enemy, all right,
-
that will constantly come and accuse us. Imen. Now so
-
because when we confess our seeing the Scripture says what
-
in first John one nine, if we confess our saying,
-
he's faithful and he's just to forgive us our sins
-
and doesn't stop there, you know, Church, to cleanse us
-
from all unrighteousness in New King James or wickedness. Wickedness
-
here just means any deviation from the will of God,
-
any disobedience in our hearts, all right, not in full
-
obedience to God, you know? And what and sin is
-
a sin? Okay? So anything, but it covers everything in
-
this verse. Amen? Amen? And what we need to do?
-
What is the ax on our part? Confess our sins
-
to the Lord? Now why the Lord? But saying oh
-
if I wrong, conscin, I say sorry to correct fellow men.
-
To men, we also need to say apologize, we make
-
right spouse, husband and wife, children, parents? But do you
-
know who you ultimately sin? God? How do we know?
-
David said it in Psalms fifty one. I believe yes,
-
it's against you and you only have I seen you
-
only you know. So actually, yes, you sin against your brother,
-
your sister, but actually you're sinning against God. So it's
-
God that you need to make right with. Amen. Amen.
-
But when we confess it, when we repent, So there's
-
the confession and the repentance part here, Okay, God will
-
forgive us, God will cleanse us. Amen Amen. And we
-
cannot do anything about the sin problem. So I say
-
again except to confess it, to repent and say God,
-
I will not do this anymore. Just like King David,
-
he repented and then trust God. So the moment you
-
confess you repented, you trust God for the forgiveness and
-
the cleansing that he has promised. And when you receive
-
a D, receive a D. Don't go about worrying about
-
your sins anymore, okay, because if we remain conscious, are
-
conscious about our sin when we pray God, it will
-
hinder our prayer, immen. So that's what it means. Okay. Now,
-
the beautiful thing about this sum is that let's read on. Okay,
-
So some sixty six. Now I'll go a little bit
-
forward to verse sixteen, and then after that again backward
-
and forward. So verse sixteen the Psalmi said, come and listen,
-
all you who fear God. And I believe I'm speaking
-
to hearts this morning who fear the Lord. Amen. We
-
sincerely fear God. We want to walk upright with the Lord, immen.
-
And the Sami said, I will tell you what he
-
did for me verse seventeen. For I cried out to
-
him for help, praising him as I spoke. And this
-
is the first point. We just say, as you cry out,
-
you must praise the Lord. Amen. Amen. Verse eighteen. We
-
just read just now. If I had not confessed the
-
sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened
-
verse nineteen. But God did listen. Amen. He paid attention
-
to my prayer. Praise God who did not ignore my
-
prayer or withdraw his unfailing love for me. Hallelujah, Jesus.
-
God is good. Amen. Amen. But this shows us that
-
you cannot hire anything from God. Okay, your heart will
-
condemn you. Okay, you wrong? Really, just say sorry to
-
God and do it with God, you know. Yeah, Meaning
-
we cannot hire anything from Godd already knows and we
-
need to come clean before him. Amen a man, hallelujah,
-
thank you Jesus. Amen. Now I want to read from
-
first John. Now we read first John one nine just
-
now right, okay, now we want to read first John tree.
-
Now this talks about the heart not and the condemnation
-
the heart, okay, which is very important. So let's read
-
First John three twenty. What does it says here, For
-
if our heart condemns us another hallelujah versa, God is
-
greater hallelujah. God is greater than our heart, and he
-
knows all things. So if our heart condemns us, God
-
is greater. Amen. So we don't have to hide anything
-
from God. God already knows what we need to do.
-
Here is church. We need to be open, We need
-
to be honest with him. We need to be sincere.
-
We need to confess every sin, every transgression, every thought,
-
every shortcoming that you know that has hurt God, has
-
sin against him or others. And then once it's confessed,
-
once we dealt with it, let's receive and accept complete forgiveness,
-
complete cleansing. Then we can come to God without condemnation.
-
A man church a man. On verse chapter three, verse twenty,
-
we're gonna read on verse twenty one and twenty two.
-
It says, dear friends, so when you don't feel guilty.
-
So if we don't feel guilty, after we set to everything,
-
we can come to God with bold confidence. Amen. Church.
-
So this is what it means to come to God
-
with both confidence, the confidence that comes from being forgiven
-
and being cleansed by God. Amen. And then what verse
-
twenty two. Hallelujah our prayer? Right? Okay, And we will
-
what we see from Him whatever we ask, because we
-
obey Him and we do the things that please him. Amen. Wow,
-
Thank you Jesus. Amen. God is good. Hallelujah. Amen. Amen.
-
So we know when we come to God, after we
-
as settle everything, God hears us, and we will receive
-
all that because we work in the obedience to Him. Amen.
-
Now so we read from first John. Now we're going
-
to go to Hebrews for a short while. Can you
-
follow me? Are you still doing? Okay? Turn to your
-
neighbors and say are you okay? Turn the gener neighbors.
-
Stay awake all right, don't worry. We're getting to the
-
end day, okay. Hebrews. Now Hebrews chapter four, verse sixteen.
-
Then later we go to Hebrews ten. Just a quick one.
-
This is you hear us. You hear these verses a
-
very famous verse. All right, but we want to talk
-
about coming into the presence of God. And even as
-
you pray every day in your prayer closet, in your
-
quiet time, this is how we should approach God. Amen.
-
So in verse sixteen, in chapter four, the author of
-
Hebrews wrote, so let us come boly. Can you see
-
the why come bowly? Now, come bodly to the throne
-
of our gracious God. Now in the New King James,
-
he says, let us come bowly onto the throne of grace.
-
There we will receive his mercy and we will find
-
grace to help us when we need it. Most awesome.
-
God is awesome, Hallelijah. So remember it is a throne
-
of grace that we are coming to now. So we
-
come to a throne of grace, not based on merit. No,
-
because it's traun of grace. Day. They miss trying and
-
tell you you men man don't deserve the men mon okay.
-
The ma man is the word. I like this word.
-
I don't know of any other English word that will
-
that will give the same meaning of men moan. It's
-
me maha men monk okay. I don't know how to
-
say any other way. Okay, Okay, So it's me moan
-
you men man, we men, man not deserving. Okay, So
-
it's a trone of grace. So we come not on
-
the basis of merit, but we come in the name
-
of Jesus. We come with So back to point number one,
-
we come, we approach God in prayer to the throne
-
of Grace, with praise and thanksgiving for who he is.
-
Can you see how it all links together? Because it's
-
me man, what He has done for us? Right? And
-
we come without condemnation. We dealt with everything, we confess,
-
we repent right, and we come boldly because God has
-
called earth to come and he's there sitting on the
-
throne of Grace. Amen. Now let's turn to Hebrews chapter ten, right,
-
verse nineteen to twenty two, And so, dear brothers and sisters,
-
we can boldly enter Heaven's most holy place because of
-
the blood of Jesus. Now I'm not sure I appreciate
-
this here, but I think, am Church, we thought about
-
the most holy place basically is the presence of God. Amen.
-
We can come right into the presence of God without
-
anybody to sacrifice animal anymore for us a day through
-
the blood of Jesus, Amen, verse nineteen, verse twenty by
-
his death, So it's all about Jesus. Amen. Jesus opened
-
a new and life giving way to the curtain into
-
the most holy place verse twenty one. And since we
-
have a great high priest and there's Jesus who rules
-
over God's house verse twenty two, let us what Let's
-
go right into hallelujah, right into the presence of God.
-
That's my question to us this morning, myself, this morning,
-
have we gone right into the presence of God today?
-
As you worship? We sincere hearts fully trusting Him for
-
our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ's blood, basically
-
covered by the blood of Jesus. Amen, Amen, to make
-
us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water. Church.
-
Do we know that that we can come boldly into
-
His presence? Amen? Amen. So don't ever let condemnations stop you,
-
because it's one of the greatest enemy to answer prayer.
-
Because we feel condemned, we won't even pray right now.
-
We feel like, oh, we can't pray. We don't even
-
deserve the pain. I don't know what to pay. Never,
-
don't fear praying because we feel so condemnity. Correct, so
-
it will even stop us at the very first step
-
right now. Again, I may not be speaking to all
-
of us. Maybe no, I never feel condemned. I know
-
you just love me. Okay, very good for you. Okay hah.
-
Maybe not all of us, but some of us today
-
definitely myself all right. Yeah. And it depends also maybe
-
on your makeup, your upbringing, or you not let make up,
-
they make up your you know you Like some of us,
-
we desire so much to do it right, make it
-
right with God. Why not? We want to serve God,
-
We love God. And sometimes, like you know, you do wrong.
-
Then I don't know how you deal with mistakes and
-
wrong Some people say, it's okay, just shove it under
-
the cupboard. It didn't happen. It didn't happen. It didn't happen.
-
Some people can one I think it's a gift or so,
-
But to me, I cannot. I cannot, I cannot. You'll
-
be right in my face. So the honest it depends also,
-
I say, the makeup, your makeup, the honesty. I say,
-
oh God, I did this wrong the first thing. So
-
sometimes forgive me if I notice what is wrong, because
-
that's just my natural self. Like I notice a chair
-
is saying it. Okay, okay, so it's okay. It's not
-
because of your fault or I don't love you. No, no, no, no no.
-
All right. Yeah. So but God says, hallelujah, we just
-
we can come boldly into His presence, Amen, and do
-
not let condemnations stop us. Now why because it sounds
-
very humble, Church, it sounds very humble. But do you
-
know the basis of self condemnation is self righteousness. Okay,
-
So we've got to come to a place where we
-
lay aside every attempt to justify ourselves because we justify
-
ourselves and we don't match up and say we self
-
condemn la all right, okay, so we've got to put
-
it aside and say that I receive by faith and
-
only by faith, right, not the righteousness from Jesus Amen,
-
that Jesus Christ has imputed on me by faith. So
-
having said that, as much as I will not worry
-
about not worry, sorry, yeah, I will not be too
-
caught up with the things that I do very well
-
on my merits, I will also not worry about myself
-
because it's covered by the blood of Jesus. Amen. As
-
much as I will not parade or be so puffed
-
up by my good deeds, I will also not be
-
ashamed by my bad days because it's covered by the
-
blood of Jesus. As much as I will come boldly
-
because it is a throne of grace, I will not
-
analyze my own heart so much until I keep saying
-
that I'm not good enough for God, because God has
-
made me write Amen, Amen, I will trust and I
-
will choose to trust that God, by the blood of Jesus,
-
he has cleansed me from all sin, and I can
-
come boldly right to the turne of gaye. Amen. Amen.
-
And that's the way that God wants us to approach
-
him in prayer Church. So as we approach prayer, as
-
we are fasting and praying during this time, let us
-
draw near with a sincere heart, fully trusting Him. Put
-
aside our guilty consciences. And if you have any sin,
-
let's come to God in repentance and allow Him to
-
forgive us and to cleanse us. Amen. Because a guilty
-
can will always keep us away from praying. Amen. Amen.
-
Are we good all right? Now? The last part when
-
we pray, we also need to approach God with right relationships.
-
Now do you know in the Lord's Prayer? I'm sure
-
we all know and we can recite right Mau Chapter
-
six ver was nine to thirteen, and I pray with
-
my kids every day Mandy chatter six was nine to thirteen. Amen.
-
Now do you know inside the Lord's Prayer is a
-
it has it says, what forgive my dads as I
-
forgive others? And do you know after my teacherter three,
-
verse are six, verse nine to thirteen, verse fourteen, and
-
verse fifteen, Jesus went on to Tamba Dambaro and add
-
honor to say that if you don't forgive, I'll not
-
forgive you. He added on someone like as though, if
-
you don't get me on, let me say very clearly
-
to you that all right, okay. So this is one
-
of the things that Jesus had taught us. And I'm
-
sure we all have heard this before and we all
-
know that we for that when we pray, we ask
-
her to forgive us. Well, so we need to forgive others. Amen. Amen. So,
-
and it just means that in the same proportion that
-
we forgive others, God will forgive us, Meaning if we
-
forgive others completely, God will also forgive us completely. If
-
we forgive others partially, God will also forgive us partially. Okay, hallelujah. Amen.
-
I don't want God to forgive me partially. I don't
-
want Okay, I'm sure none of us want to God
-
to forgive us partially, right, Yeah. But then having said that,
-
we will need to make that choice to also forgive entirely. Amen.
-
And one of the reason why sometimes our prayers are
-
not answered is due to the failure to fully forgive
-
our fellow brothers and sisters. And I think all of
-
us can say that all of us have been through
-
it ourselves as well. Amen. So the question for us
-
today is are we willing to forgive now? Maybe you
-
say that, oh, but then you don't understand, joy or
-
what's joey? I do you don't understand? Or I don't
-
know if I can do this. It's really hard. You
-
know what God is gonna say to you or me,
-
then it's very hard for me to forgive you too. Ouch. Ouch.
-
If you're like, oh my gosh, God, God can say that, man,
-
mm hmmm, I don't know what I can forgive though,
-
then God tell you I don't know what I can
-
forgive you. So ouch is ouch? Okay? Now I did
-
this illustration or you're so so okay? And my girls
-
are not here, I use their names, Okay, we tell
-
them okay, Okay, they don't know, they don't know, they
-
don't know. Okay, So I will talk about Marca pan caps,
-
dirty socks and sticker chants. Okay, okay, we have that slide.
-
Now an older sister, I call her Adelia, tell us
-
some mom, mom my sister, and we call her Dora
-
has forgotten to close the cap of my Marca pen
-
again for the sake stuff, can you please remove six
-
of her sticker charts from her six stickers from a
-
sticker chart. By the way, if you don't know a
-
sticker chart, it's like a reward chart for kids. They
-
don't have any morey, no more, last time, last time, God,
-
then they get reward every time and they do a
-
good thing, or then they ticking out the sticker if
-
they did the wrong thing. Okay, So she is demanding
-
that I the mother, removed six from her sticker chart
-
because she forgot to close the cab. She deserves it,
-
Mom said, girl, do you not remember that you have
-
forgotten to put your dirty socks into the basket for
-
the sixtieth time yesterday, and I still pick them up
-
for you. I reminded you. But no consequences. Can't you
-
give your sister another chance? If not, I would then
-
need to remove sixty stickers from your sticker chart. If
-
you want to be given a chance to keep your
-
sixty stickers, then you forgive her six stickers. Just joking,
-
all right. So it's just an illustration to see how
-
patty we can be. And in the Bible, God also
-
gave us those other parables. Right, we are so patty
-
and say, but then quanchin, quanchin. But then God will say,
-
but joy you and I forgive all your see, and
-
just because he forgot to buy you something, then you
-
cannot forgive him. Okay. I mean it's as petty as
-
that now, because we say at this level we joke
-
about it. But I understand we all go through life
-
and we get hurt, right, and it's not funny at
-
the time, not funny, right, not funny okay, But this
-
is God's law, no matter how hurt you think. But
-
it's but it's so unfair and so and you know
-
of so many unjust things that's happening now, right, Okay, imagine,
-
but God still say forgive though, Okay, So there's no alternative,
-
not like ways right, alternative route right, don't have Okay,
-
God say you the measure that you forgive others will
-
be the measured that you are forgiven. And this is
-
in the Lord's prayer. Now, if you look at the
-
Lord's prayer, what's the last partition in verse thirteen? Leaders
-
not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
-
Do you know that the forgiveness part was before this?
-
So until we forgive, we've got no right to pray. God,
-
you deliver us from the evil one. And I really
-
believe the sequence is not by coincidence. There is a purpose. Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, ah,
-
not do you mean? Amen? Amen? Jesus alilujah Amen. Okay.
-
Let's look at Mark right now, Mark eleven, twenty five,
-
twenty six. Jesus is speaking to his disciples. What did
-
Jesus say whenever now we're talking about prayer today. We're
-
talking about prayer, right, Okay, when you whenever you stand praying,
-
if you have anything against anyone, forgive him so that
-
your father in Heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.
-
If I were Jesus, I stopped there. I got it,
-
got it, Jesus. But Jesus didn't stop there. Okay. I'm
-
sorry to say that. Okay, But if you do not forgive,
-
neither were your father in Heaven forgive, your trustpasses. Not
-
a lot Jesus talk like that one, but the forgiveness
-
part is very very clear. Okay. So Jesus is speaking
-
to who when you stand praying. I don't think the
-
unbelievers will be praying, and you ask your heavenly Father.
-
So he's talking about you and I. All right, as
-
believers here today when we pray to our heavenly Father,
-
when we we cannot approach him in prayer with unforgiveness
-
in our hearts against anyone. Amen. And before we pray,
-
we need to forgive now first, Peter, Okay, this one.
-
Peter is speaking to husbands. Okay, I'm not husband. I
-
wish a husband easier for me to say, but not
-
I say one, okay, Peter, Peter, say one? Okay, first
-
Peter Tree seven, verse seven. It says, in the same way,
-
you husbands must give honor to your wives treat your
-
wife with understanding as you live together. She may be
-
weaker than you are, is it yeah, like yalla yalla?
-
Physically okay, you want to be weaker, confident that the
-
men can be stronger, mom, and not okay joking joking.
-
She may be weaker than you are, but she is
-
your equal partner in God's gifts of new life. Treat
-
her as you should, so your prayers will not be
-
hinder Amen. And husbands here say amen, Amen, So Peter
-
here is speaking about now. But but remember my point
-
just now is about approaching God with what right relationships?
-
All right, your relationship this level affects our prayer being answered. Amen.
-
So God Peter is thinking about that. So talking about
-
relationship between husband and whye. So it's a message to
-
husbands of us specifically, so and a wrong relationship with
-
your husband, I can hinder the answer to our prayer.
-
But I believe it's also talking on both sides, right,
-
both sides for sure, husband's side, wives side. And I
-
think it talks about the home as well. So what
-
we have to do in the home if we want
-
God to answer our prayer as a family. So parents here,
-
you want God to answer our prayer. Want God to
-
save our children. We're praying for our children, salvage or
-
our provision or anything. We've got to get right with
-
our partner. Amen. Our relationships have to be right, and
-
then God will bless and God will hear our prayer. Imen. Yeah,
-
we finished cheat points. Okay, I'm joined to a close
-
right now, all right, and I'll invite the wordship team up.
-
And it's okay to laugh and smile in church, It's okay. Yeah,
-
as Holy Spirit move in our house, so we have
-
the joy of the Lord. Amen. Amen. But of course
-
we also seriously want God to move us or amen.
-
And there are times that we look to God serious,
-
you know, and you know, seek the Lord. But that's
-
joining his presence. Amen. Amen. So we're going to worship
-
the God Lord together and again as I draw to
-
a conclusion, I want to bring us back again now
-
as we see some basic conditions. So firstly we approach
-
God with praise and thanksgiving. Immen. There are basic principles
-
and basic conditions for us to come before God to
-
access into God's presence and so that we can come
-
to God and we can pray and God will hear
-
our prayer Imen. So we come to him, we praise
-
and thanksgiving, and we come without condemnation. We deal with
-
our guilty conscience right, and we deal with the sin
-
in our lives, and we also come to God with
-
right relationships, making things right even at this level. And
-
so as we talk about some of these condition I
-
want to remind us again that we read in Psalm
-
sixty six just now, and I want to read the
-
verse again again. The Psalmist wrote, and I want us
-
to remember again that God the very first at the introduction,
-
God wants God hears our prayer, and he wants to
-
answer our prayer. Amen. So, reading again from verse sixty, says,
-
come and listen, all you who fear God, and I
-
will tell you what He did for me. For I
-
cried out to Him for help, praising him as I spoke.
-
If I had not confessed sin in my heart, the
-
Lord would not have listened. But God did listen. He
-
paid attention to my prayer. Amen. Praise God who did
-
not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love from me. Imen.
-
So I believe today, as we stand right now, we
-
will praise God. We will praise God with a fourth
-
song lift up his name, and I want us to
-
draw into his presence. It's another chance for us again
-
if we have not or again welways want to come
-
into his cards with praise, into his gaze, with thanksgiving
-
in our hearts, coming to his presence again and worship him.
-
Imen and I believe every Sunday I told the ADM
-
Church that we come to church, we cannot go away
-
without responding. The word of God has been preached for
-
Now is then your responsibility? Bus and just said yesterday
-
right are the teens now? I share with you all
-
Now it's your responsibility. So the word of God has
-
been preached for and I pray that we will all
-
take it. We will respond, We'll allow Holy Spirit. The
-
war has Amen. Let's worship God. Thank you Lord.
-
