  1. You're listening to a message to go from ex Church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your day today.

  3. I titled it the Disciples that Cover. What word is

  4. that anyone knows what it means exactly? Never mind, that's

  5. why we're here to learn, right, Okay, the Disciples that Cover.

  6. We are still this year in the theme of disciples first,

  7. and I think it's very important that we know what

  8. kind of disciples we are, right, whether useful or not

  9. so useful to the lot lah. Okay, we can be

  10. called we can call ourselves disciples. But I think there's

  11. some secret that we can learn about this particular theme

  12. of cover. Okay, So I want to start by us

  13. engaging you. When we were worshiping just now right in

  14. an awesome some of you were lost in a time

  15. of worship during prayer time. What was the image of

  16. God that was in your mind? Next slid, what is

  17. your image of God? I want you to either write

  18. it down, you can draw it for some of you

  19. who are illustrators or artistic, right, what is your image

  20. of God? Can you just capture? Just give you a moment, right, everyone,

  21. if you just think about it, what is your image

  22. of God? You can close your eyes and just say

  23. what is it? What is the Holy Spirit bringing to

  24. your mind right now? What is the image? Okay? And

  25. either thought comes into your mind, I want you to

  26. capture that and put it down into your notebook or

  27. if you're writing notes on your phone, then just put

  28. it down. What is the image that kind of captures

  29. you right now? The image of God? Okay, we will

  30. revisit this. This is very important and I wanted to

  31. just latest foundation for us. Are we okay? Do you

  32. have the picture of God in your mind? An image? Okay?

  33. A right? Good? Good? Good? Now? All right, So just

  34. now I went on and on about how tired we were,

  35. right So then I told as I went home, I

  36. told Emma, A Emma, you know, can you please pray

  37. for me because I haven't prepared my message yet. I

  38. reached over at eight o'clock selling something eight o'clock. Then

  39. I say, oh, I haven't prepared, but she's like what okay?

  40. Now after that eleven o'clock she sleptery you know, and

  41. I was there still there busy preparing message. And I

  42. hope that it will be of a blessing to you

  43. a man. All right, now, how I came up with

  44. this was there's something that the Lord has reminded me

  45. over and over again, and I think recently as well,

  46. I've been going through this phase you know where I

  47. hear people are tired tired? Do we have tired people? Yeah, exhausted,

  48. not just physically but emotionally, mentally, spiritually. Do you feel that?

  49. Do you feel that I know our campus students right.

  50. Sometimes you're just like, I'm so busy with my assignments.

  51. Do you did Oh my gosh, I can I tell you?

  52. I resonate with you, I identify with you. Okay, this

  53. is old student. Okay, also student doing her masters. I

  54. don't know why I'm there, but oh yo, I tell

  55. you what this is very funny. Okay, I tell you

  56. inside Joe, inside your So you know there's four of

  57. us doing our masters together. Is Passus Hendra the busiest

  58. woman on earth? Myself not so busy. Pasta Sarah the

  59. second busiest person in ex church. I think she's running

  60. l she's running X kids right. And then of course

  61. Passa Jack right, so he's you know, he's in the

  62. school Victory Academy. So four of us are in it.

  63. And sometimes we go like why are we in this

  64. like we've got nothing else better to do? Right? It

  65. was so busy already, and yet it was so funny

  66. because just last Monday we had that assignment you assignment

  67. you at TED nine fifty five PM. I don't know

  68. why the lecture said nine fIF CAPA students got such

  69. thing on Now it's either nine fifty five or eleven

  70. fifty nine. Okay, they're like co right on, see is

  71. Israel a okay? So then because we were so busy

  72. right last week were a spr vision retreat okay, you

  73. had meetings from nine to nine forget it, No, no

  74. assignment's done, and then Saturday Sunday go other things happening

  75. constantly Sunday all that, and so Monday I was like, oh,

  76. writing this group project assignment at nine thirty nine thirty

  77. assignment due day is nine fifty nine er okay, nine

  78. fifty five. At nine thirty I only submit to twenty teen. Okay.

  79. I was like, oh my gosh, okay, lucky thing I

  80. could you know, go through? It was okay. And then

  81. after that at nine forty six, I submitted the report

  82. really cutting it close, you know, and then the whole day, right,

  83. we've been added because there was few assignments you at

  84. the same time. So we're like, okay, we will do

  85. different things. And I tell you, my gosh, the tension

  86. in my body after you summit ready, right, You're like,

  87. and then for three days I cannot think I was

  88. just exhausted, right campus students, right, you feel me because

  89. I feel you, okay, And and it's it's just a

  90. this is then you you go like, then what's next? Right,

  91. because that's not the end. That's not the end. There's

  92. more right, I'm not done with the musters. We've got

  93. one more year. We completed one year, by the grace

  94. of God, there's another year to go. I'm like, okay, hour, ohie,

  95. one more year. Okay, now my pray for me okay.

  96. And and so so that's that that that physical tire.

  97. But but it's not it's more than that. It's a

  98. mental tiredness, you know. It's it is the thing over

  99. your head that cannot go off right, even though you

  100. go on holiday or whatever. It's just this umbrella will

  101. your hat that you you just can't get over it.

  102. I met up with a friend recently who's just gone

  103. for grief counseling. For the loss of a mom. It's

  104. been a year and still she says, you know, I

  105. don't know why. Sometimes it just hits me and I

  106. just see that crying, you know, and after that you

  107. spiral down. Yeah, you know what I mean. When it

  108. comes it hits you, then you're like, I'm just going

  109. down and down and I don't know how to pick

  110. myself up. Right. Earlier this week, I was doing our

  111. family finances and then I was like, looking at it,

  112. I'm like, oh wow. Then there's a sinking feeling that okay, wow,

  113. savings depleted, different expenses to pay. Do you know things

  114. are very expensive now, and you're like, every every cent

  115. counts right, every eating out counts right. And you know

  116. Chinese people and we don't order drinks on right, because

  117. we say we only pay us necessity, right, We pay

  118. for the food. What do you drink? We bring our

  119. own bottle put there, correct. So that's how we think

  120. about money, right. So that there's and you know, I

  121. went into this almost like a single right because there's

  122. all these things that's going around and you just feel

  123. so overwhelmed, overwhelmed, and I had to catch myself and

  124. I say, oh god, this is this is not me. Okay,

  125. I don't I don't usually go like that, right, but

  126. it hit me. It hit me earlier this week, and

  127. I just say, God, I need to get out of

  128. this right now. Church. I let me ask you this question. Right, So,

  129. when you hear of something like this, you know, you

  130. know someone is going through a tough time. You know

  131. they're just feeling down, and you know helpless, overwhelmed. Overwhelm

  132. is the word. Okay, what is the usual Bible verse

  133. that you know? We're good Christians? Right? You say, okay,

  134. let me use this to encourage my brother or my sister.

  135. What do you know? What are some of God's you know,

  136. the verses in the Bible that you know of. Tell

  137. me those that way to the Lord shell, we knew

  138. they are strange. Do we know this verse? Ah? Okay,

  139. there you go, exhausted, tired, helpless, this courage? So there

  140. is that verse? Any other verses that you'll hang on

  141. to or that you used to encourage? Do you all

  142. know the verse the old Mabel? Just quote it? Yes,

  143. any other verses that comes to your mind. Don't worry

  144. about anything about pray about everything right by thanksgiving and praise.

  145. You know, it supplication, present your gifts, present your request

  146. before the Lord. Correct. Okay, So can we agree that

  147. these are some of the common verses that you hang

  148. on to. Yeah, okay, cool, So we will go with

  149. the first answer, which is Elder Mabel. She's spot on rights.

  150. She's the one that's very prophetic. She's like, don't tell

  151. everyone loud, I say no, no, no, we sell pret

  152. your gifting. Okay, So now we're gonna go into that verse.

  153. Can we have the next light? Okay? So Isaiah forty

  154. thirty one. Okay, shall we can you see this? Okay,

  155. let's read this together? Right? Three two one. Those who

  156. wait on the law shall renew their strength. They shall

  157. mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and

  158. not be weary. They shall walk and not faint. Amen,

  159. Isaiah forty verse thirty one. Got it? Now, this is

  160. a verse that we always called correct because it's like, yeah,

  161. you know, if you've been in church long enough, you

  162. would have known this. You know, this verse light is

  163. something that we always talk about. Okay, now look at

  164. the word here, uh eagles eagles Okay, okay, second sort

  165. of scribbling for you to do what comes to your

  166. my next light when you think of the image of

  167. an ego? What do you what do you perceive? Right, ego? Ego?

  168. What do you perceive in the image of an ego?

  169. I want you to just write it down, Just have

  170. a think, have a think. What is the image of

  171. an ego? And in a show what I'm gonna ask

  172. for your response? Eagle ego? Do you have an image?

  173. All right? You have some thoughts around that image? Okay,

  174. So now I want to invite you to shut out

  175. your answers. What do you perceive when you think of

  176. an image of an ego? All right? Some answers, please, ball, majestic? Good?

  177. What else? Sorry? Free? Freedom, freedom? Oh? We like this, right,

  178. we like freedom that it represents. Protector, Yeah, definitely, sorry, fearless?

  179. Whoa nice? Nice? We're on a row. A few more,

  180. A few more? Sorry, sore? Is that the word I heard? Soaring?

  181. Soaring high? Yeah? Nice? Right. Let's go back to the

  182. verse again Isaiah forty thirty one. It says they shall

  183. mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and

  184. not be weary, they shall walk and not fain. What else?

  185. What else do you see from the image of an ego?

  186. Anything else? Strength? Do you see strength strength. Yeah. Okay,

  187. So do you want to be an ego? You want

  188. to be human? Okay, I mean, hey, hello, this is

  189. called analogy. La yo, I know you want to be human.

  190. Thank you, thank you for bringing the humor in. But

  191. like cla, right, do you want to be like an eagle? Yes?

  192. And no? Yes, thank you very much. Because the thing is,

  193. if you're not an eagle, you are this. You are

  194. like this little chicken right, also a bird. Okay, I

  195. just want to do it because it's just so fun now,

  196. just so fun to press the chicken. So if we

  197. are not eagles, then we are like chicken. Laugh. We

  198. should do you want to be you want to be chicken?

  199. Or you want to be ego? Ego? Ego? And so

  200. I now segue into a short intermission for advertisement. Okay,

  201. so friends, we will be having so much fun at

  202. our subang Jaya overnight. This will be part of the games. Okay,

  203. So you don't want to miss out on our Subunja. Okay.

  204. So I know we mentioned that we already closed the deadline,

  205. but no, seriously, we want to give you an opportunity.

  206. Today is the final day. Head to the you know,

  207. to the back board. There and just sign up. Okay.

  208. I know some of you finances are different reasons. Okay,

  209. you have different commitments and all that, but I just

  210. really want to encourage you to come because I think

  211. I haven't told the team yet.

  212. I know.

  213. So of course our theme for the Overnighter is disciples first, right,

  214. but I will put that the addition of turning chickens

  215. to eagles. How about that turning chickens to eagles? So

  216. don't be a chicken and chicken out? Okay, all right, okay,

  217. intermission done, All right, coming back coming back to our message. Okay,

  218. so we want to be eagles? Agreat Do you want

  219. to be eagles? Okay? Now, now I want to introduce

  220. this book called Isaiah. Do you know the profit? Right?

  221. So you know that in your Bible. It's one of

  222. the first prophets in the Old Testament, agreed in your Bible.

  223. If you don't know, you open the page of table

  224. of contents. You will notice that Isaiah is after the

  225. Song of Solomon. After all, the poetry is Isaiah. How

  226. many of you actually like prophecy? Okay, five people. The

  227. rest of you don't know what to do with it?

  228. Right when you read the Books of the Prophets. You're like,

  229. I cannot understand it. There is no context and it's

  230. so far removed from us that you you're like, gong mare,

  231. what is it saying? I don't understand the Book of Prophecy?

  232. But can I tell you something very interesting about Isaiah? Now?

  233. Do you know the person who? Actually? Do you know?

  234. By the way, can I tell you original scroll when

  235. written by prophet Isaiah? There was no versus, there's no

  236. chap this one. Do you know that? It was just

  237. like a long scroll and it just roll r R road.

  238. So I think it's only in the eighteen hundreds. Some

  239. very clever pre say, are you a very hard la

  240. to find verses? So let's do chaptering, you know. So

  241. they put in Bible chapters into Isaiah, and then after

  242. that the verses came in. So that's why now we

  243. have chapters and verses not the most useful actually, because

  244. you know what happens. We become text finders. You know

  245. why I say that, because I can tell you only

  246. know Isaiah forty thirty one. Do you know it's Isaiah

  247. forty thirty twenty nine twenty eight? Don't know?

  248. Right?

  249. We become very text people, right, and so sometimes we

  250. may caught things out of context. So what do you

  251. make out of this verse again? Right? So we need

  252. to put things back into the context of what's happening

  253. now Again, I just want to encourage you to fall

  254. in love with God to it, Kennon R. I'm currently

  255. going through the Book of Isaiah myself, and I find

  256. it's so encouraging, right to just read and meditate God's

  257. word Isaiah forty Now the person right, whether coincidence or not,

  258. do you know that he actually I think it's a

  259. HeLa actually divided the whole Isaiah's Scroll into sixty six chapters.

  260. Something familiar with you about the number sixty six? What

  261. is it correct? The books of the Bible? Sixty six? Hey? Interesting?

  262. H And what was more interesting is the first half

  263. of the book? Right, there's a theme, right, So the

  264. whole of Isaiah, there's two themes. One team is in

  265. the first thirty nine chapters and then there's another team

  266. in the next twenty seven chapters. Does this sound familiar?

  267. What is it correct? The the nine books in the

  268. Old Testament, twenty seven books in the New Testament, and

  269. the team is no one you know? So if you

  270. read the whole of first thirty nine chapters of Isaiah,

  271. you will recognize that it's all do man gloom, do

  272. man gloom, do main gloom. Judgment is coming, your enemies

  273. are coming, as Syria is coming, Babylonian is coming. Doom, doom?

  274. Do any ends with Hezekaya king Hezekiah. It was at

  275. the lowest of the kingdom of Israel? Do you know that?

  276. And right after that chapter forty onwards it was the

  277. New Testament. It summarizes everything that we know of the

  278. New Testament. What do you know of the New Testament?

  279. Matthew marn look and John? Right the New Testament? What

  280. does it say when John the Baptist came? What did

  281. John the Baptists say when he came into the scene?

  282. Prepare the way of the Lord? Correct? And you're gonna

  283. see this very shortly as we go through Isaiah forty.

  284. Are you okay? Are you excited to go into Isaiah forty?

  285. It's a New Testament that we're talking about. So if

  286. you say, what the whole Bible to read a very

  287. big booker, can I encourage you to read Isaiah? Just

  288. start with the prophet Isaiah because it's almost like the

  289. whole Bible in a miniature. You can see the whole

  290. picture of the Bible in Isaiah. Is that? Okay? What's

  291. very interesting about Isaiah? I like you know, so can

  292. we have the next slide? Do you know this verse?

  293. For unto us a child is bond, the government shall

  294. be on his shoulder. His name shall be called Wonderful

  295. counselor Mighty God everlasting. For the principle you know this?

  296. We always see this at Christmas. Right. Where is it found?

  297. It's in the book of Isaiah. Huh, prophecy. Right, we're

  298. talking about see what's gonna happen in the future, and

  299. it's found in Isaiah. Let's see of some other phrases

  300. that we are familiar with. Okay, so the next night

  301. will show you. You know this worth grieving the Holy Spirit.

  302. Do you think Jesus first coined it when he came

  303. onto the scene? No, it was in Isaiah. Do you

  304. know this phrase, God will wipe away all tears? You

  305. think it's only in Revelation? No, Isaiah said already, how

  306. about a voice crying in the wilderness? We heard that.

  307. Just now, prepare the way of the Lord. You shall

  308. be my witnesses. Hey, extra, Jesus is our anchorvers Okay,

  309. you should notice, and we always quote it from Matthew

  310. twenty eight. Right, you shall be my witnesses city, and

  311. you're gonna make disciples, you know. So that's our anchor.

  312. But do you know that it was already there in

  313. Isaiah one of us, every niche all about every time

  314. confess you think it was only in Philippians. It was

  315. there already in Isaiah. Do you know that? Interestingly? Right

  316. the Bible that Jesus knew of the Old Testament. Out

  317. of all the scrolls, he and Paul quoted Isaiah the most.

  318. They loved the book. They love the prophet. And so

  319. I want to encourage your church. If you really want

  320. to be like Christ, then this is a book that

  321. I suggest you get familiar with. Fall in love with amen.

  322. All right, So just a little bit of introduction to Isaiah. Now, okay,

  323. so let's try to understand. So, like I said, right,

  324. we need to understand contexts because sometimes we just use

  325. the Isiah forty thirty one. Someone someone gave me one before,

  326. and know she just put it on a post. It

  327. not Isaiah forty thirty one. For you. I'm like, ooh,

  328. what is? So that I go look up WHOA very comforting,

  329. you know, And that was as much as I knew. Right,

  330. those who wait on the Law show, you know, saw

  331. like wings on ego, Da da da, they should you know,

  332. walk and off it. I'm like, okay, okay, but I

  333. think the lot one to bring us deep is that. Okay,

  334. So let's just go a few verses above that. Like

  335. I said, let's go to verse twenty eight and twenty nine.

  336. Next the next light. Now, let's look at this right.

  337. It says he gives power to the weak and to

  338. those who have no Mighty increases strength even the youth,

  339. even the you shall feign and be weary all yeah,

  340. people say, oh yeah, and the young man shall utterly fall.

  341. So when we're thinking about strength here, we're thinking not

  342. about physical agility. We're not talking about how young you are,

  343. because can I tell you, young people, you also get tired, right,

  344. Because now we're not talking about a physical tiredness. We're

  345. talking about a mental, a spiritual, and emotional tiredness that

  346. cannot go away with sleep. You know what I'm saying.

  347. Sometimes you know you're physically tired, right, after you know

  348. physical acting, you think like, okay, just sleep. As long

  349. as you sleep, it's enough. But it's not okay. So

  350. he says that Now you know what I take comfort

  351. in this is? Firstly, do you see that God wants

  352. to give you power? Can you see that? Not he

  353. gives power to the weak. He's not asking you a

  354. be stronger. You go and exercise more. Do you know

  355. what I'm saying? That's what we always say. Right here.

  356. You feel so tired. I think you should sleep more.

  357. I think you should eat more. You know, I think

  358. you should work out a bit more, exercise a little bit.

  359. But God is not like that. He says, I will

  360. give you power because you are awake. I'm the one.

  361. I'm the source of all power. So you think if

  362. you're already weak, you got energy to like psych yourself up? Yeah,

  363. say yes an amen, amen on ourselves. It seems impossible.

  364. Even the young people were like, oh yeah, we are tired,

  365. right and so I you know, it just seems to

  366. me God, God is the one. He's like, hey, I'm

  367. ready to give you power. I want to give you strength.

  368. But you know there's a condition attached to this. God

  369. wants to do something, but there needs to be a

  370. response from us. Do you agree? There's always that one?

  371. You know, God as a good father, I want to

  372. give you gifts. Let's say I got yesterday part of

  373. the amazing race trip right. We had to pass by

  374. the iPhone the Apple store in TRX, my first time there.

  375. Can you see so on tie right? Never go before?

  376. So we went through the Apple store. Can I tell

  377. you what it was like, passa malam? Why every owl

  378. was full of people? Why? Because they say they just

  379. launched the new iPhone seventeen? Is it? Okay? I got

  380. the vision correct, And it seems that for students you

  381. get free I bought or whatever whatever. Okay, I'm like, oh,

  382. how much is an iPhone seventeen? By the way? Three

  383. ring gata? No? Seven eight thousand? Right, I don't know,

  384. I don't know ten thousand correct, it's not ten ringate,

  385. my dear friends, passa malam, I understand tenrigate? Everybody there right?

  386. Ten thousand ringate? I'm like, well, these people all free one?

  387. Is it? iPhone? Okay? Anyways? Why do I get there?

  388. So distracted? Right? But it's crazy, right, how people flock

  389. to things like that, you know, and thinking that it's

  390. it's you know, free anyways. So we want to understand

  391. more right that it's not about how energetic you feel.

  392. It's not about how strong you are physically. But like

  393. I said, there is a condition that's a response. When

  394. God gives us a gift. Let's say I want to

  395. give to Elie the latest iPhone seventeen. I'm like, yeah, here, God, dear,

  396. you did such an awesome job and worship leading, so

  397. I'm gonna give you this gift. You're next streme okay,

  398. side shout out there. And then what does she have

  399. to do? She has to receive it, right, So you

  400. cannot blame me if I say I give it to

  401. you Ellie and she's like okay, and she leaves it there,

  402. and then she walks away and she forgets all about it.

  403. That's how we are with God. Sometimes God is ready

  404. to pour out his spirit on his people, and then

  405. sometimes you're like, oh it's okay, thank you, bye, see

  406. you next week or not. Right. So every gift everything

  407. that God wants to give us, and in this case power,

  408. God wants to give us power. But if you're not

  409. willing to receive it, then you will go away. Tie

  410. La still the same? True, Let's move on more? Can

  411. I tell you that this? Right? You're not just okay?

  412. Like God?

  413. You move La because you're the powerful one. Right, So

  414. I just say a prayer and you move? Can heal

  415. my auntie? You know? Prave o salvation like that? You know,

  416. just maybe give me that promotion. That kind of waiting

  417. on the lot, that is not the biblical and understanding

  418. of waiting. But when what do we do when we wait? Correct?

  419. So we understand that the mean of waiting is like

  420. pausing for a bit. And many of us are waiting

  421. for something? Is that right? Can I? I don't need

  422. to prophesy? I know all of us are waiting for something.

  423. We are waiting in anticipation of a better life. Correct?

  424. Do all of us want a better life? When you

  425. can be free from pain, you can be free from medication,

  426. you can be free from difficult relationships. We are all

  427. waiting for a better tomorrow. Now, So the waiting is

  428. an active you know, while you wait, what do you do?

  429. It's an active word? Because you remember when you read

  430. Isaiah forty thirty one, it says they shall mount out

  431. on wings like they shall walk, they shall run and

  432. not be weary. They shall walk and not faining. Correct.

  433. Does it look like a picture of waiting sitting down? No,

  434. so the picture is an active You know, we are

  435. still running. We are still walking, and that's how we wait.

  436. That's how we wait because as we are walking, as

  437. we are running, we are being We're shifting our perspective

  438. of our lived realities. Your reality is the same, right,

  439. You still have that mom, you still have that cousin,

  440. you still have that nasty boss. That doesn't change. But

  441. the hope that we have is saying, God, I am

  442. shifting how I view my real reality. Now, now do

  443. you get that? Church, It's very important for you to

  444. catch you right. How are you going to shift your

  445. perspective of your reality? And this is something that only

  446. God can help us do. Do you know that? Because

  447. He encourages us to renew our minds. Are we renewing

  448. our minds or not? That's the thing. If we don't

  449. renew our minds, then everything will look as though it's

  450. the same. Do you know the context of why Isaiah

  451. wrote this to the children of Israel is because they

  452. were in bondage. Remember I told you the first thirty

  453. nine chapters. It was the downhill of the Kingdom of God.

  454. They were in Babylonian exile. They were all pressed, and

  455. they were depressed. That is the condition of the people.

  456. When Isaiah wrote this, he's saying, hey, hello, I know

  457. you're tired. I know you are suffering right now. But

  458. do you know suffering has a way of shaping our perspective.

  459. When you suffer, especially when you suffer for a long time,

  460. you can become so disillusion that you say, I just

  461. want to give up. I just want God just take

  462. my life with whela now now, Lord, because if I'm

  463. living in constant pain and not just physical pain, emotional pain,

  464. I just feel so tired. I'm in the pit. I

  465. don't know how to get it. Can you imagine being

  466. in a pit for a long time and no way.

  467. You feel like there's no way outright. That suffering has

  468. kept you there in prison. And I want to prophesy

  469. in the name of Jesus, anyone who's right now there

  470. in the pit, be released in the name of Jesus. Amen,

  471. you do not have to submit to that pit, because

  472. Jesus is overcoming. He has overcome that pit. It's called

  473. death and sin. Can I tell you that friends, you

  474. believe that, Amen, say amen to yourself. I'm free from

  475. that pit. I don't need to stay. I know no

  476. longer need to stay in that trap of this. That's

  477. a lie of the enemy. You know, if you believe

  478. in that life, whatever Jesus did on the cross useless

  479. rendered useless. So can you tell yourself? Can you prophesy

  480. to your own Spiritmen, I don't need to stay in

  481. this pit. Jesus has brought me out of this pit. Amen. Amen, hallelujah?

  482. Are you are you getting something? You're getting something from

  483. the Lord. His word is so good. Let's move on

  484. to the next slide. Now, the word to wait, one

  485. of the Hebrews weight is called cover. Remember that's why

  486. I say the title of your message to day is

  487. disciples that cover. Now cover comes from the root. We're

  488. called cough, which is a rope or a cord. Okay,

  489. so a rope or a cord. Do you see this?

  490. And the actual meaning right of this word cover? Right,

  491. it means you are intertoined together. But you see is

  492. being pulled attention like a rope, right, that is being

  493. pulled to attention. Do you feel this is like you?

  494. Right now? Your children is demanding your time, your husband

  495. needs you. Pull tension, you're stretched, You're not the word

  496. where you stretched. If you stretch, like beyond your capacity

  497. like wa Ellie asked me to come for six am

  498. worship practice or stretch, stretch, stretch right, and there's no release.

  499. You know, you're like, oh, one thing after another. Do

  500. you feel like that one thing after another, assignment after

  501. assignment or ig students one whole man of exam. Okay,

  502. please pray for them because they're being Can you continue

  503. to pray for them because they need stemina right all

  504. the way until the end of November. No, it's a

  505. long race. You're being stretched stretched, and this meaning right

  506. when you are cover means you are like you're in this,

  507. but you are still waiting for that release. Do you

  508. know that when you're stressed like that, when your body

  509. is tense, you just want release. You're like enough, really,

  510. I'm so stretched, and we're like, can someone just release

  511. me from this tension? Yeah? Yeah? Am I making sense?

  512. When you're always so stretched by different demands, you know,

  513. financial walls, whatever burdens, you're so stretched and you get snappy,

  514. you get angry, you want to snap. True like this rope.

  515. When the tension is too much, people snap and then

  516. they break down and they burn out. True or not,

  517. But why they use this word Cavale to say that

  518. there is this anticipation, hope to hope, to wait on

  519. the Lord is saying I'm waiting for this release. Lord,

  520. I'm waiting for this release because without this release, I'm

  521. gonna snap. Right. And this waiting, this waiting on the

  522. Lord is not saying God, you change my circumstance. It's

  523. saying God, I'm waiting until you come. I'm waiting. Do

  524. you friends, do you believe that Jesus will come? That

  525. is a hope? Is that not a hope that Jesus

  526. will come? And so while we are waiting on the Lord,

  527. we we need to remember that Jesus is coming. And

  528. because he's coming, I can smile at the storm. Do

  529. you know that Jesus, because he's coming, doesn't matter whatever

  530. things you know happens in my life, It's gonna be okay. Now,

  531. Very interestingly, I want to do another illustration and I'm

  532. gonna ask other people to help me with this. He's

  533. gonna come on stage right, and I need to go downstage.

  534. You hold this don't hang yourself. Okay. Now the other

  535. word for cover, right is actually the court, you know. No,

  536. you hold it the bigger and I'm the small end. Okay.

  537. So so now when I am holding on the word

  538. cover is a cord, and it means I'm tightly bounded,

  539. kneaded together. Right, And it's very important for you to

  540. know who are you needed against. So if I say

  541. I am right now in the pit, right, I'm feeling tired,

  542. I'm feeling depressed, I'm feeling helpless. Oh whelm right, we say,

  543. then do what? Okay, you know, wait upon the lord.

  544. But waiting is not a passive activity. Remember I say

  545. that waiting is not passive is saying I'm gonna hold

  546. on to this, the one that gives me strength. Correct. Now,

  547. I tell friends, I ask you, if I hold it

  548. with my hands like that, right, you think I will

  549. get tired, I'm gonna get tired, right, And how long

  550. can I hold? If I'm really down in the pit,

  551. and I'm like, even if if God has a strength

  552. to pull me up, I will let go. Tr Not true,

  553. not even if God. If I'm right right now, down

  554. in a pit, right, and God sends me this as

  555. my helpline. I hold onto it, but I'm gonna get

  556. tired out and I'm gonna let go and I'm gonna

  557. fall back in. So what it means right to cover

  558. is to bind myself. You can slowly release, Yeah, to

  559. bind myself, to bind myself with the one who gives

  560. me hope. Do you know the court of tree folds

  561. is not easily broken? And you can see that as

  562. I bind myself with the one who gives me hope,

  563. more and more what you see is less of me

  564. and more of God. Amen. Do you see that? Hallelujah?

  565. And can I tell you friends, the only way that

  566. we can continue to bind ourselves with the Lord is

  567. to wait upon him. Amen, to continue to say God,

  568. I know I'm in the pit right now. I'm not

  569. gonna look for my circumstances to change. I'm going to

  570. focus on the one that I'm bound with. I'm gonna

  571. continue to bind myself with the Lord until all the

  572. people see in me. Right, it's not me, but what

  573. they see is Christ. Amen. Amen, Let's give God praise.

  574. That is God's illustration for us. So that what you

  575. do when you wait, you know, and do you know

  576. the promise is given to us. Now, what is the antidoor? Then?

  577. What else can we learn from Isaiah? What is the

  578. antidoor to tiredness? And it simply means when you wait

  579. upon the Lord is to remember. Remember Church, remember what

  580. the Lord has done for you. That is the kind

  581. of active waiting. You know, as you're actively waiting, how

  582. do you bind yourself with the Lord? You remember? Why

  583. do we remember? Because we forget true or not, what

  584. the Lord has done for you? The last thing all

  585. of you forgot ready, right, ask you to share that.

  586. The many don't have that the many because we've forgotten

  587. what the Lord has done for us? So how do

  588. we remember? How do we remember? And I love how

  589. the prophet Isaiah teaches us. Let's move on quickly to

  590. one versus A hit. Do you know that I'm going

  591. backwards Isiah thirty one. Let's go through verse twenty eight.

  592. What is verse twenty eight? Is the next light? Do

  593. we have our next light? Okay? So this is from

  594. verse ten? Okay, before that, I don't have, but I

  595. want you to read verse twenty eight. It says, here

  596. have you not known? Do you have your bibles? What

  597. is verse twenty says? Have you not known have you

  598. not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the creator of

  599. the ends of the earth, neither things nor is weary. Hey, hello,

  600. what a good way to remember? Right when we are tired,

  601. we remember that God is never tired. He is never weary.

  602. His understanding is unsearchable. Wei, M I feel that? A. Yeah,

  603. I only know so little. But God, do you remember

  604. do you know who is the God that you call

  605. your God? His understanding is beyond us, right, His ways

  606. are highest, his thoughts are higher than ours. That is

  607. the God that we serve. So let's maybe tit again, right,

  608. and remember the first image I told you, what was

  609. your image of God? Remember the very first question I

  610. asked you, do you have that image in mind? And

  611. then the second image was the image of the ego.

  612. Now the third image. If you want to just open

  613. your mind, I'm We're just gonna read from verse ten, okay,

  614. all the way down. Just open your minds, open your

  615. minds to see to remember who is this God that

  616. we call our lord? Verse ten. Yes, the sovereign Lord

  617. is coming in power. Can we say an amen to that?

  618. Do you know that God is powerful, his sovereign He

  619. will rule with a powerful arm. See, he brings his

  620. reward with him as he comes. You know, Wow, you

  621. come not just in power, but you come with a gift.

  622. You come with a reward Verse eleven. He will feed

  623. his flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs

  624. in his arms, holding them close to his heart. He

  625. will gently lead the mothership with their young. If you're

  626. feeling tired, can you remember our good shepherd? Let's move on,

  627. verst Off. Who else has held the oceans in his hand?

  628. Who has measured all the heavens with his fingers? Are

  629. you anyone can measure the heavens as you to measure

  630. your body? Or okay, all right, with your fingers? The

  631. Lord has measured the heavens. Who else knows the weight

  632. of the earth? Anyone knows? You know? You only know

  633. your own weight ray weight of the earth? Or has

  634. weighed the mountains and the hills on a scale? Who

  635. is able to advise the spirit of the Lord? Who

  636. knows enough to give him advice or teach him? Has

  637. the Lord ever needed anyone's advice? Does he need instruction

  638. about what is good? Sometimes we tell God right, we

  639. negotiate with him. Hey, God, I know, I know this

  640. guy is good for me. I know this girl is

  641. good for me. Go in sensitive plazer. But did the

  642. Lord say this boy is good for you? Did the

  643. Lord say this girl is good for you? Take that home? Okay?

  644. Did someone teach him what is right or show him

  645. the path of justice? No, for all the nations of

  646. the world are but a drop in the bucket? Are

  647. you scared of the nations, the powers, the armies. God says,

  648. they are like a drop in the bucket. They are

  649. nothing more than dust on not even nothing. No, that's

  650. that's that you on the scales. He picks up the

  651. whole earth as though it were a grain of sand. Wow,

  652. I cannot find a smaller earth in that. That that's

  653. the smallest picture of the earth in a the hand

  654. of someone Verse sixteen. All the wood in Lebanons forests

  655. and all labanonce animals would not be enough to make

  656. a burn offering worthy of our God. The nations of

  657. the world are worth nothing to him in his eyes.

  658. They count for less than nothing, mere emptiness and froth

  659. Verse eighteen. To whom can you compare God? What image

  660. can you find to resemble him? Is there an image?

  661. Is this something? God is bigger. Whatever you think you

  662. can imagine, God is bigger Verse nineteen. Can he be

  663. compared to an idle form in a mole overlaid with

  664. gold and decorated with silver chains? Or if people are

  665. too poor for that, they might at least choose wood

  666. that won't decay and a skilled craftsman to carve an

  667. image that won't fall down. These are some images of

  668. idols Verse twenty one. Heaven you heard, don't you understand? Ex? Church?

  669. Are you deaf to the words of God? Ex? Church?

  670. The words he gave before the world began? Are you

  671. so ignorant? God sits above the circle of the earth.

  672. The people below seem like grasshoppers to him. He spreads

  673. out the heavens like a curtain and makes his ten

  674. from them. He judges the great people of the world

  675. and brings them all to nothing. They hardly get started,

  676. barely taking root, And when he blows on them and

  677. they wither, the wind carries them off like chaff Verse

  678. twenty five. To whom will you compare me? Who is

  679. my equal? Asks the Holy One? Look up into the heavens. Friends,

  680. if you're feeling very down right, can I just encourage

  681. you one day. You just go out of your house,

  682. look up into the stars, look up into the heavens

  683. who created all the stars. He brings them out like

  684. an army, one after another, calling each by its name.

  685. Because of his great power and incomparable strength, not a

  686. single one is missing. Oh Jacob, how can you say

  687. that the Lord does not see your trouble? Oh Israel?

  688. How can you say God ignores your rights? Amen? Why

  689. do we accuse that God has forgotten about us? It's

  690. because we've forgotten. And so part of the way we

  691. bind ourselves to the Lord is to remember. Every time

  692. you remember, you strengthen yourself. You know, you're not holding

  693. on me, you're just your bare arms anymore. You're you're

  694. infusing your entire body with the word. You know, and

  695. it is that word. Do you know that if I

  696. was bound like that all the way, I don't need

  697. to do anything really right? The Lord just leaves me out.

  698. You know what I'm saying. I don't need to it's

  699. my own strength because He is the one who gives

  700. me power. But I I need to bind myself with

  701. the Lord. That is our part to do. Friends, that

  702. is what we need to do, and that's something that

  703. all of us find it so hard to do because

  704. we forget, we get distracted by things of this world.

  705. And that's why by coming here listening to me, you're

  706. binding yourself one call at the time, you do know it,

  707. So one call at the time. Thing, it's austraight away,

  708. one day done. It's a day by day process. It's

  709. a day by day every war, every home, every preservice,

  710. every worship Sunday. You come, you come, You're binding yourself

  711. to the world of God, to the power of God,

  712. to the presence of God until people see you. Hey,

  713. this on Christler Where is elder? People don't know, but

  714. she's behind low Christ because she just continues to bind

  715. herself every day, praying, interceding, speaking in tongues and binding

  716. myself to the Lord until we become behind the scenes.

  717. It's not about us, yeah, Church, can I tell you

  718. it's not about us? Why do I say it's not

  719. about us? Let's go even further up right, Let's read

  720. from Versus six to nine, because we have a message

  721. to tell. Do you know that we have a message? Friends,

  722. We have a message. So us being bound by the

  723. Lord like that, it's not just so that, Okay, so

  724. that I can go to Heaven by myself. The reason

  725. why we strengthen ourselves is because there is an assignment

  726. for us. Can I tell you what's an assignment? Versus

  727. six to nine. It says this. So the voice Isaiah,

  728. the prophet, is saying this to us. As he prophesied

  729. to the nation of Israel. A voice says, shout right here, Isaiah,

  730. the word shout, and he asks what should I shout?

  731. Shout that the people are like the grass. Their beauty

  732. fades away quickly as the flowers in the field. The

  733. grass withers and the flowers faith beneath the breath of

  734. the Lord. And so it is with people. The grass

  735. withers and the flowers faith. But the word of the

  736. Lord stands forever. We sang that song ray, the word

  737. of the Lord stands forever. Oh Sion, Oh ex Church,

  738. Oh ex Church, Messenger of good news, this is our signment.

  739. Shout from the mountaintops. Shout it lo no o ex Church,

  740. shout and do not be afraid. Tell the towns of Subangjaya,

  741. your God is coming. Hallelujah. The reason why we are

  742. in Subangjaya is because this is our assignment. Let's stop

  743. with summit Forasla. Let's tell the towns in summit. Let's

  744. tell all the shop lots in Summit. Your God is coming.

  745. Once we're done here, let's move out Subanjaya. Your God

  746. is coming. Amen. That is our simon. Hallelujah. Do you

  747. receive your assignment? God is coming. And I like to

  748. end with this because you know, as we remember our

  749. role with our Lord, as we bind ourselves so that

  750. we are strengthened to be the messenger. And I like

  751. to close us up by just going back to the

  752. very first few verses of Isaiah forty. Are you ready, beautiful,

  753. remember thirty nine chapters of prophecies of destruction, of being

  754. exiled or being oppressed. Now Here is the good news.

  755. If you're looking for good news. Verse forty, Chapter forty,

  756. Verse one, Comfort, Comfort, my people, says your God. This

  757. is the assignment that God gave me to you. He says,

  758. comfort his people. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, tell her that

  759. her sad days are gone and her scenes are pardon

  760. God has pardoned your sins. Yes, the Lord has punished

  761. her twice over for all her sins. Listen is the

  762. voice of someone shouting, clear the way through the wilderness

  763. for the Lord. Make as straight highway through the waste land.

  764. Amen for our God. Feel in the valleys and level

  765. the mountains and heels, strengthen the curves and smooth out

  766. the rough spaces. Then the glory of the Lord will

  767. be revealed and all people will see together. The Lord

  768. has spoken. Amen. What the Lord has spoken shall not

  769. return to him void. And so this is the context

  770. of Isaiah fourteen, when God gave us and he prophesied

  771. that there will be comfort, and he taught us all

  772. the way how we remember and how we renew our strength.

  773. I want to bring it back to the final slide,

  774. and I believe that is the cross. This is a

  775. combination of everything that we are hoping for. Without Jesus

  776. dying on a cross, there is no hope, because it

  777. is only through his death and his resurrection that we

  778. have the hope of saying, yes, Lord, I know it's tough.

  779. I know I'm going through stuff and it keeps coming.

  780. But you are coming. Amen. Do you know things can
