You're listening to a message to go from ex Church.
-
We hope this message will light up your tea.
-
We want to hear what Jesus say. We don't care
-
what Sandra has to say. We tell you what Jesus
-
has to say. Amen. So I'm gonna be reading today.
-
The title, well, the title is something like this. If
-
you have the slight, Thanks see, and happy birthday to
-
you God bless you, We love you. Amen, young man.
-
It was a baby, but now, young man, that's that's
-
the privilege I get to walk with different people here. Amen.
-
All right? Who or what possess you? Okay, simple English?
-
Who's got your heart? Okay, all right, I just wanted
-
to use the word possession, possess Who possess you? Who
-
has your heart? All right? Who's got your heart? What's
-
what's you know, what's really the main leader of your heart?
-
So I'm taking the reading from Matthew chapter nineteen, verse
-
sixteen to twenty two. Are you good to go with me?
-
Let's turn to our bibles. Matthew chapter nineteen, verse sixteen
-
to twenty two. Okay, all right, you got your Bibles,
-
you got your verses. And also I think maybe XDV
-
might help us. I'm not sure, but it doesn't matter.
-
You have bibles, e bibles, share bibles, all right. Okay,
-
so this is the story that you are familiar with.
-
I think Pastor Kenneth has preached it so many times.
-
And so here we go verse sixteen. Now behold one
-
came and said to him, okay, all the way to
-
the back, and all the way to the friends family Sunday. Right,
-
So hello to every child, every one of our children,
-
ex kids. Thank you ex kids, teachers as well, thank
-
you for taking care of our children. We celebrate you,
-
and we yeah, Matthew, we are really grateful for your
-
ministry to our children. Amen. Now behold one came and
-
said to him, good teacher, right, good teacher, What good
-
thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?
-
All right? This is a young, rich, young ruler, someone
-
who's walking amidst He probably was, well, he wasn't a pharisee,
-
likely a senthedrony. We have to study that, someone of
-
the law. Right. And so Jesus said to him, hey,
-
why do you call me good? Because no one is
-
good but one that is God. But if you want
-
to enter into life, keep the commandments, all right? You
-
know the ten commandments. So Jesus just reminded him, will
-
keep the commandments. And then he said to Jesus, which one, sir? Okay?
-
He one day Dania, oh action, which one right? And
-
so Jesus leads him to this. He says, you shall
-
not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal,
-
you shall not bear false witness. Honor your father and
-
your mother, and you shall love your neighbor as yourself.
-
The young man said to Jesus, well, ahem, all these
-
things I have kept from my youth. Any youth in
-
the house this morning, the whole room, Yes, anybody under
-
one hundred is a young person. All right, Okay, you'renna
-
call Ben uncle Ben. He's just Ben because he's a
-
young person. Okay. So he said, all these things I
-
have kept from my youth. So what do I see
-
you'll lack? That's very thoughtful, he said, So what do
-
I still like? I've I've kept them all. And then
-
Jesus said to him, if you want to be perfect,
-
go sell what you have and give to the poor,
-
and you will have treasure in heaven, and come follow me.
-
But when the young man heard what Jesus said, he
-
went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. He had
-
great everybody said, great, right, he had great possessions. Now
-
I want to read to you the other version, which
-
is from the Book of Mark. So in the Book
-
of Mark, chapter ten, verse seventeen to twenty two. I
-
just want to draw on just a few verses here,
-
especially this one. Now. So Jesus tells him keep the commandments.
-
And then he says, teacher, I've done all these things
-
now verse twenty one. In Mark, chapter ten, verse twenty one,
-
he says, then Jesus looking at him, looked at him,
-
loved him. Come on, everyone say, loved him, loved him
-
all right, and said to him, one thing you lack,
-
Because he asked, what do I lack? How can I
-
have eternal life? Sins? One thing? And what's that? One thing?
-
Go your way, Sell whatever you have, give it to
-
the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then
-
come take up the cross, follow me. And but you
-
know so. Verse twenty two says, but he was sad
-
at this word, and he went away. He went away
-
sorrowful because he had great possessions. Amen to the reading
-
of God's word Amen, so let's go through this slide
-
by slide. Thank you, Ian. The rich young rule in
-
Matthew came, I'm not sorry, not Ian, my dear friend
-
Julie all right, and her friend who are Alvira as
-
my friend too? Okay, all right, ma homie, all right, okay,
-
my ex homie okay. The side says A rich young
-
ruler came running in Mark, chapter ten, verse seventeen. In
-
Mark chapter ten, verse seventeen, this version, Mark writes, as
-
the young man came running, how many of you are
-
running after Jesus? Oh? R word? Do you know? Do
-
you know? The young rich young ruler didn't probably didn't
-
realize who he was speaking to, that this was the
-
son of God, this was God himself. But he didn't,
-
he didn't realize it. But he came running because he
-
was hungry. How many people are hungry this morning? Not
-
for cookies, but for Jesus? Amen? Are you hungry? And
-
this man came running, young man? How many young men
-
and young women in the room in the house there, Yes,
-
declare that over yourself you will remain young forever? Amen, Yes, Kelly,
-
right right, young forever? And again I told you one
-
hundred times this is this is me, this is your heritage.
-
Bassa Sandra pass to you young forever. You know. I'm
-
grandma age. But you see I'm nowhere like KC. But yeah, hello, ohay,
-
I still got hair. Okay, all right, I still got hair. Okay,
-
I don't he nachs. I think I give you a
-
long headaches. Okay, all right. So this young man came running.
-
I think it's very important to remind ourselves that somebody
-
came running because he saw something in Jesus. But he
-
didn't recognize that this was the king of kings. Amen.
-
If we if we knew, just if we just knew
-
who we were speaking to, Wow, this is the great entrepreneur.
-
This is you know, I don't know what's his name? Whatever?
-
His name is Microsoft guy? What's his name? And not
-
so good? No? No, okay, if Bill Gates or whatever.
-
Who are the big people, big time people now who
-
are making really doing really well in their business. If
-
you knew, you would you would want to go and
-
talk to them. Tell me how, teach me how. And
-
so this young ruler came in his Levi jeans and said, hey,
-
tell me Jesus, how can I have eternal life? Maybe
-
Jesus said, take one road to China. I no he didn't.
-
All right, no cha sorry, no rothy China. Okay. So
-
Jesus was impressed that this young ruler came running. He wasn't,
-
you know, dragging his feet. He came running, running, Running
-
was the song running? We are running? Okay, okay. Now
-
what is the question that this young man asks Jesus?
-
He says not in verse nineteen, in verse sixteen of
-
Matthew nineteen, he says, what good thing shall I do?
-
That I may have eternal life? He actually says, so
-
what good thing? I mean? The Holy Spirit this morning?
-
Just help us all to one, that good thing that
-
only Jesus can give to us wherever you're seated. I
-
mean the Holy Spirit put in your heart today, that
-
good thing that only Jesus can give to us. He says,
-
what good thing shall I do that I may have
-
eternal life? And if you look at the next light,
-
Jesus tells him to obey the sixth, the seventh, the eighth,
-
the ninth, and the fifth commandment out of you know,
-
because he was already okay, so the follow of God.
-
But these were the commandments. He said, don't murder, don't steal,
-
don't bear fall sweetness, you know, don't you know? Honor
-
your father and your mother. And he said, and all
-
that Jesus told him was actually about how you treat
-
other people. Four moments is to honor God, to obey God,
-
siks about loving your neighbor. And this young man said,
-
I've done it. I've got it, I've nailed it. But Jesus,
-
what do I still lack? So there was a hunger Amen.
-
And when Jesus told him that, he still said, after,
-
but I've done them all, I've kept them all. How
-
will I have eternal life? And Jesus and then he
-
says to Jesus in verse twenty, I'm just bringing these
-
verses out, and I wonder if we can identify what
-
do I still lack? Amen? What do I still lack?
-
And Jesus loved him. Jesus looked at him and loved him.
-
I want you to know, Jesus looks at you and
-
loves you no matter where we are, matter how far
-
we are, know how near we are. Jesus looks at
-
us every day and he loves us. He wants us. Hey,
-
nobody wants you. You and nobody want to employ you.
-
Jesus wants to employ you. No, if you think nobody
-
loves you, he loves you. He loves you. He loves
-
you with an eternal love because He gave his life
-
for you. It's powerful if you will only take hold
-
of the power of the love of Christ. Amen. Amen.
-
We should be celebrating every Sunday church right from the back,
-
not talking at the back to the front. I'm the
-
only one who can do this. Seriously. Yeah, so I
-
will push it. Yeah, yeah, I just I will have
-
to push it right from the back to the front. Friends,
-
every Sunday when we come, including myself, I really I
-
remind myself why do I come to worship? Not because
-
there's nothing better to do on a Sunday. It's not
-
a routine. It's an excitement to celebrate the love of
-
God and the purpose He has caught for me. But
-
more than that, I want us to understand, what can
-
you give to God? He's given a salvation? What are
-
we giving? We give our best praise, We give our
-
hearts to Him, in our lack, in our match, in
-
our trouble, in our happy days. We give to the
-
Lord the joy of being his children. Amen. Amen. Are
-
you alive eh, coma crystal belle ha, hallelujah. Do you
-
give your best to the Lord. That's why you serve
-
and she serves so faithfully. Why because we love Jesus
-
so much she has given to us. We just love him.
-
Back dressing up well, coming up early, you know, getting
-
ready on a Sunday Sunday Sunday morning and full ready,
-
and I know the one hundred things to do, like
-
feed the baby, how many if you got babies? To
-
feed your puppy, yeah, yo, your pet parrot? Yeah, all that.
-
You know. I'm gonna wash my laundry because tomorrow I leave. Yeah.
-
But you know, we get up early. We get ready
-
because I want to give to the Lord. I don't
-
just take from the Lord. Amen. We're not here to
-
take from the Lord. He will give you freely, and
-
He already gives you everything everything that we need. Do
-
I get an amen? Judge? Do I get amen? Right
-
from the back? Woo? Amen? Now I have to do
-
this so that you exercise your faith. Don't sit there, Church,
-
don't sit there. Respond respond because when you respond the
-
Word of God becomes alive in your spirit. Thank God,
-
I only come once in how many months you go life? Bassa,
-
Sandra are not here every Sunday. Well, that's how we
-
grow the church. We grow because we love Jesus. Amen.
-
We grow because we have so much God has given us.
-
I've got nothing to be unthankful for. I'm just thankful
-
that i can just be alive. I'm thankful for church.
-
I'm thankful for you have been my family, and you've
-
been there praying for me. I'm thankful. I don't know
-
what you're thankful this morning. I'm hungry for Jesus. I'm
-
hungry to do all that he wants me to do,
-
not just to play Christian. I want to live Christian.
-
I live as a son and daughter, as a daughter
-
of Christ. Amen. Amen. So Jesus said, hey, these are
-
the commandments. Well, I'd done it, and he says, what
-
do I still like? And Jesus loved him and then
-
said to him, boy, go sell everything, feed the poor,
-
come follow me, take up your cross, come follow me.
-
And that man was ready, I think he was. You
-
could have done it, but something possessed him. Come on,
-
the verse says, but he had great possessions, and so
-
to us, don't look at him, only all of us,
-
What holds our hearts, what possesses us? What he had
-
great possession. It's not so much he had it, but
-
the possession had him. He the possession had him that
-
he couldn't walk out of that. Amen. Now I want
-
to say to us, so all the people here thinking,
-
are you telling me I can't be rich? Was she?
-
He's just the rich and wealthy people. No, he gives
-
you power to make wealth so that you can bless
-
the Kingdom of God, be blessed yourself, bless your family,
-
blessed the Kingdom of God. No, that's not the issue.
-
That's not the issue. What possesses you? And so there
-
are things that can hinder us. And it's not just
-
about money. My next light says, it could be a person,
-
It could be a place, It could be a possession. Amen,
-
it's not just because he was wealthy. Anything can possess us. Anything,
-
anything that you put as priority ahead of God can
-
possess you, beloved of the Lord, the children of God.
-
And I'm serving this morning that I'm here together with you,
-
I ask myself, what is my priority? What possesses me? Now?
-
Could it be a person? A person? What is that person?
-
Is it is it. I don't know who that person?
-
Is it your husband, your wife, your child, a boyfriend.
-
You're thinking of a girlfriend, a man or woman in
-
your life that you really want? Is it the I
-
mean something that you want a person? All right? And
-
and it could be a place. Maybe you want that house.
-
Maybe you want to be in another country and you're
-
crying out, I want to be in that country. There's
-
a will, there's a way. Is it God's will? I
-
don't know, all right? But what can hinder you a person,
-
a place, or even a possession? All right? And so
-
how so? So, Sandra, what are you saying to me?
-
What are you telling me? Pasta? Well, it's really about
-
our obedience. It's about our salvation. Really, what what is
-
this this whole passage about. It's really about how you
-
look at your salvation? Do you even? Do you? And
-
I remember why we have been saved? And this ties
-
back to our theme this year. Disciple first, who is
-
a disciple? He who follows Christ. When you are a
-
disciple of Jesus and you said yes to Jesus, he
-
becomes your master. And everything you do you do because
-
you have committed it to him. You have said, Lord,
-
my life is in your hands. I am not my own. Listen,
-
I'm not my own. I've been bought by a price.
-
What's that price? Friends? How did he pay the price
-
for us? Was it by silver and gold? No, it
-
was by the precious blood of Jesus. I want to
-
tell you, our moms have spilled some blood for us
-
when they gave birth to us. All the mothers was saying, man,
-
m all right, but no, oh, body spilled blood for us.
-
Hung on the cross as Jesus did. It was not
-
an easy role to play. He was separated from God
-
the Father because he took all of our sin. And
-
so is the case about wealth? Come on, people, is
-
the case about wealth? No, no, it's not. It's not
-
just about the wealth. It's about where our hearts. And
-
it could be anything, anything can be what that will
-
take up possession of our hearts? Possess possess who possesses us?
-
Is it the Lord? Is it something? Is it a person?
-
Is it a place? Is it a possession? Something? We
-
all have to ask ourselves, something to reflect as we
-
come to the end of the year. Now, why is
-
this message? So Jesus spoke to this young man because
-
he came running and you know what, having worked with
-
so many of you in the last twenty five years,
-
is the church. But we've served more than longer than that.
-
I realize a lot of us like to know the minimum.
-
What must I do to have you done a life?
-
And once I've done it, they're done. Now I can
-
go and play. I think that's what we are all about,
-
isn't it right. Once we know we've done it, there's
-
the minimum or maximum done, and then we go out
-
and play. That's exactly what the children of Israel did
-
when Moses took forever up in Mount Sinai for forty
-
days and forty nights, and then they said, what, I
-
don't know, where is this Gila flo and do right
-
Mana Debrighi Sudan, but Polo hari Manadon Okay. So they're
-
waiting there and they're thinking he's never coming back. He's
-
up in that cloud. I don't know what's going on. Hey, hey, hey, Aeron,
-
here make us gods. And then Aaron says, okay, show
-
me the money. And so they gave give me, give
-
me your goal, gave me, gave me, give me your
-
gold after midnight and give the man o, give some
-
old song. All right, all right, so they take the
-
goal and then and then he actually molds the cough
-
and then it's an idol, and so they say, this
-
is your God, Israel. And so they worship. And once
-
they had worship, meaning they wanted to worship that it's
-
always a desired worship, but it's your minimum. Tell me
-
what I have to do minimum. And then after that,
-
what happened. They got up and they played. Mind you,
-
they did not play five stones. They did not play,
-
said said said Nacilla. Ma, No friends, They had some orgies.
-
They had some wild parties. If you're too young to
-
know this, close your ears to them. But they just
-
wild the facts of life young men and young woman. Sorry,
-
I have to say the truth, because save your soul.
-
Be careful, because that's all they wanted. They wanted to
-
do minimum and say I've done my duty. I've worshiped
-
lip service and that's it. Now I can play. But
-
this is not what God wants from us. He didn't
-
save us, so that we just give him lip service.
-
What do we still like? Jesus invited this young man
-
into a relationship. Hey girls, sister, did you just want
-
to have a play with the brother. Did you just
-
want to have companionship? That's a lie when you come
-
to sixty years old my age and I'm my husband's dad.
-
Maybe I want some companionship, but I can play with Ali. Okay,
-
all right right, I'll go fishing with the uncle Ben
-
and Tim. All right, Hey, you ain't looking for some companionship, friends,
-
You want something more. You want a relationship. God was
-
calling us, calling all of us, all men that he
-
has made, come into a relationship. Go sell everything and
-
come because you will have treasure in heaven. Come follow me,
-
take up your cross. And many of us. Yes, I
-
know we've said yes to Jesus. We're here. But are
-
we just doing minimum so that we can play? Because
-
I have to ask myself this question. I do my
-
quiet time, okay, ten minutes done, then ten minutes really
-
nothing loud. But sometimes we are rushing. Oh down my
-
thirty minutes quiet time is done. Friends, I'm not talking
-
down at you or I'm speaking to my own heart.
-
Am I giving lip service? Have I just sang some
-
songs to make him happy? I tell God of God,
-
I'm sorry if I just sang some songs to make
-
you happy. No, I want to sing because I love you.
-
I'm grateful. I'm thankful that you save me, you provide
-
for me, you give me your family like this. You
-
know when I'm sick, you heal me. God heals me.
-
You know the healings that I've had in my body
-
when I'm out. You know how God has unstained me
-
when my dad was suffering with cancer. You guys know
-
that I've shared this. God is more than just my healer.
-
He's more than just my redeemer. He's my Lord, he's
-
the lover of my soul. He's my master. And that
-
was what Jesus was giving to this young man and saying,
-
come and follow me. Discipleship is about handing your whole
-
life to him and saying, Lord, what do you want
-
me to do? It's about obedience. The Christian faith is
-
about obedience. It's really going into a deeper relationship with Christ.
-
That's why I said, ladies and gentlemen, when you come
-
into a relationship, any kind of relationship, whether it's a
-
boy girl relationship, man woman relationship, whether it's friends friends,
-
we don't just go surface. And you know, when it's surface,
-
that's it. But we try to go deeper. We cry
-
with you, We laugh with you, we walk with you.
-
We do your funerals, not yours. I've done none of
-
your funerals. There your parents and your grandparent's funerals. We've
-
done it. We marry you, we dedicate your babies, We
-
walk with you. You might not remember that are five
-
years down the line, ten years down the line. We
-
find husband and wives for you. You found them. Don't
-
forget you found them in ex don't curse my church.
-
I love my church. You love your church. You found
-
it in Jesus. You found it because he brought you
-
to this house. God is calling us into a relationship. Amen.
-
He wants you to flourish. He wants you to know
-
that following him is not the end of your rope.
-
It's the beginning of your life. Amen. And Jesus is
-
calling us to come and follow him. Amen, follow him
-
and be his disciples. So this is discipleship that he's
-
looking for. Who is that disciple? In the Greek, the
-
word disciple is mattetis. Mettetis means the learner, the pupil,
-
the one who learns. Amen, who is the one who learns?
-
The one? What does he do? What does a disciple
-
do he follows. He sticks to the way that his
-
master is leading him. So you and I need to adhere,
-
need to stick close with Jesus and do what he's
-
telling us to do what he's doing. We do. Then
-
you say, but Jesus not here, or yeah, yeah, but
-
that's the four Gospels. Yeah yeah, And then he sent
-
us Paul, you know all the letters. Those are things
-
we learn. So so we are following Christ. And when
-
you are a follow of Christ, when you say yes
-
to him and you follow him, you say I'm a disciple.
-
Then you say, my life is not my own. I
-
belong to you. Amen, I belong to you. And He
-
paid the price for us. So we don't choose those choices.
-
We let God choose for us. Every day as you walk,
-
you just say to the Lord. If you are in
-
your even if you're a student. Every day as you
-
wake up, you say, Lord, thank you for your beautiful
-
plans for me today. You know what who will I meet?
-
What will I do? This is studying. I have to study.
-
I know I'm a student. I'm gone back to studying.
-
Every day I'm looking at my books. I'm on holiday now,
-
but alveraday, I look at my bloodyard, blood yard. Every day.
-
You know how low you do assignment to assignment, like,
-
I can't wait for you to get over, and all
-
I'm learning, I'm learning. Remember, the process is more important
-
than the product. Come on, people, the process is more
-
important than the product because you can get all the
-
a's when you learn nothing. That's so sad. So we
-
go through the process, go to the hot knogs, get
-
the highs, get the lows. We just say, hey, the
-
highs and the lows and the highs, and I don't know.
-
You all say you know someone said something. Christians don't lie.
-
It's true. You don't lie. You just sing it. You
-
just sing it. You're all like one. You're all I
-
ever needed. Oh but Jesus, I really wanted my great
-
over to Australia. Oh Jesus, I just need another car.
-
You're all I ever need. You're more than enough for me.
-
I want to ask you. Is Jesus more than enough
-
for you? My brother, sister, Grandpa, Grandma Sandra. Is Jesus
-
more than enough for me? Come on? Is Jesus more
-
than enough for me? We don't lie, We just sing
-
it in worship. Now we scart to sing right.
-
Now?
-
He scart to see. Oops, don't sing that song. Choose
-
another song, Lorri. Oh that's easy to see. But now
-
when you start Dady Gate, You're all I want in
-
Christ alone. But I need my Mercedes, a place, my trust.
-
I need that job in christ alone. Give me that man.
-
I need a hero. I thought Jesus was your hero.
-
Give me, give me, give me a man after midnight.
-
To all the single people in the house, I'm not
-
being cruel. I'm being I am being I'm being honest
-
with you. I once for single two. No man can
-
meet your need. I'm telling you, Yes, a man may
-
give you the sex. Yeah, but that's not eternity. I
-
used to be a teacher. My students said to me,
-
we need it? You need what? Why so, Bob, you
-
took a purlu one. You cool? I thought you purlue
-
water and maccan. Yeah that too, my students, you know
-
you're all I need. I have to ask myself that
-
do I need that next lake Crusee pot? One part
-
not enough? No to buy another lake Crusee pot is
-
sitting on my head. Ever I cooked the last curry
-
for my husband. No, but the pot looks nice and
-
it's there. Jesus is gonna sell your part, CenTra, No,
-
go sell your part. Give it to Janets, you cook,
-
give it to Jenet. No, I walk away sorrowfully because
-
the pot has me. You put that into context. You
-
put that into context. Always saying is who is priority?
-
If you make your child your priority. I'm not saying
-
don't take care of a child. But if you treat
-
your child like a god, then Jesus will be your servant.
-
But he is also No, he's not. He's a servant leader.
-
He came to serve what's our priority? What can hinder
-
us a person, a place, or a possession. And you
-
may say I'm struggling with this. I'm struggling with that.
-
The best thing to overcome any struggle is to give
-
it up to Jesus and say, yes, Lord, here I am.
-
What do you want me to do? Where do you
-
want me to go? He looks at you and loves
-
you despite even if you didn't do anything, he still
-
loves you. That's an assurance. But as my response for
-
God's saving me, I'm wondering, how can I please God?
-
Because I look at every relationship, any relationship, we always
-
want to please that person, whether we're dating, whether we're married.
-
I try to please my husband, make sure i'm home early.
-
I make sure i'm there. I don't know, help be
-
just be there. Sometimes I'm just there. I'm like, I'm here.
-
What are you playing with your headphone? But you're getting reports, right,
-
He's so honest with his ig right, Yeah, because he's
-
reporting his igen and everybody knows where you are. Oh,
-
we know you're upstairs already. No, we try to be
-
there because we love that person. We want to be
-
there for that person. Oh you want your favorite thing,
-
I do that for you, or you know, whoever your
-
child wants that, you try to buy that. Then you
-
try to give them the best education. You give that.
-
That's how I'm just saying that we always want to
-
give the best. So God did not call us just
-
into just a registration. I'm saved. He's called us into
-
come follow me into that relationship. If you found your
-
fullness in him, then you move on with him with
-
full confidence that he will never leave you, not forsake you. Amen.
-
So he calls us to come and to follow him
-
to be his disciples. Hallelujah. Do you know, friends, what
-
you do? What you do shows what you really believe right,
-
what you do will show us what you really believe in.
-
So you can say all you want, but it doesn't
-
show up until you do it. So saying is one thing,
-
but doing it will tell us whether you believe in
-
it or not. Right, it's true. Right if someone said
-
this is the best school, Victory Academy, and if I
-
had a child, my child, I should be sending my
-
child to Victory Academy, not to Sunway International School, because
-
I have to believe in what I say. I'm saying, Hey, guys,
-
come send your kids to me to ask all and
-
then I take my kid and put them in Sunway
-
International School. What does that mean? It means something else Altogether,
-
I don't believe in it. Same here. If you say
-
you are his child, you follow him. Then what you
-
have said you act on it. Then you do what
-
God is telling you to do. You don't choose to
-
be here or be there. You say, this is my money,
-
where do you want me to invest it in? I said, invest,
-
not spend. There has to be returns. R Oh, I
-
come on, I'm not Bordo. You know. Hey, you spend,
-
you invest, you get returns on investment. Amen, And God
-
is for you not against you. Amen. So I want
-
to say that we are just really least stuarts, faithful
-
servants of the Lord for all that God has given us.
-
And and that's why I said, it's not he wasn't
-
attacking your wealth or how many. No, it's being faithful
-
with what God has given to you, faithful servants, and
-
and and now it is those things that you put
-
what is important for you. You're faithful, then be faithful.
-
Don't be so faithful and then become gums. Okay, you're
-
so faithful with your money. I'm so faithful keeping it.
-
But you don't know how to bless people. You don't
-
know how to give every Even our church, even if
-
we have a lot, we have got blessed to your giving.
-
And if we put everything in a fixed deposit of
-
you should be. That's where we give out to missions.
-
That's why we feed the poor, that's why we plant churches.
-
We're not keeping to have savings because my savings is Jesus. Hey,
-
your savings has Jesus nothing wrong with you having money.
-
I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about how you
-
hear and do you say you do, amen? Make all
-
the money God made you give you power to make money,
-
to get well, do that, give you wisdom and brilliance
-
to create things. To it. All we're saying is who
-
is the master? Amen? And he's just calling us into
-
that beautiful relationship with him. Amen. So it is really
-
about obedience, Amen, It is about salvation. That young man asks,
-
what good thing can I do to inherit eternal life?
-
Jesus is just answering that question. And for us, we
-
need to know that we have eternal life and that
-
it is for eternity. We are living in a very
-
very fast changing world. Yeah, everything is changing very quickly,
-
very quickly, very quickly. It's my time up. Please tell
-
me somebody, No, not yet, okay, all right, run away,
-
okay your time more time is moving, Okay. We are
-
living in a very very fast changing world. Today. You
-
study what you studied. I tell you, our graduates will
-
come out and they will have jobs. You know. I'm
-
not scaring you. I'm not scaring you are. We just
-
need to be agile. We need to have critical thinking.
-
We need to know how to adjust. So we prepare
-
you not with ace, We're preparing you to holistic life.
-
And that's why that's why your salvation matters because in
-
Christ you learn to be a whole person. God's grace
-
is with you. Amen. Things are changing, but the one
-
thing that never changes, brand and sisters Aloha is Christ
-
never changes. He is a solid rock. He's a firm foundation.
-
You can put your trust in the Lord. He never changes.
-
He will see he's our father, If he's our master,
-
then I will rest in him. Amen. God. Really, he
-
is a father who sees and he meets you whatever
-
that need is. We've been through. Honestly, sometimes you may
-
not know all of our story. Not everyone and so
-
many new people in our church today. We may not
-
know pascanna story and my story. You don't know how
-
we've been through. We are not just sitting on you know,
-
just having you know, just asking you to serve it.
-
We don't serve. We don't do that. We've had our
-
hard days. I told you we've done the heart miles.
-
We continue to do the heart miles. We still have
-
eggs and pains. We claim God's healing. We see people
-
through their pain. We pray with them, believing for miracles. Yeah,
-
that are God heals, that are God provides. I don't
-
have all the answers, but I know the Lord will
-
supply us the answers that we need. And I just
-
want to be faithful to the Lord. And when God
-
looks at acts here, hey, I pray that he can
-
say what efficients verse one, how Paul greeted the church,
-
and Paul greeted the church in Ephesus. He says, to
-
the saints who are in Ephesus and faithful in Christ, Jesus,
-
can you imagine something you know? And the Lord comes
-
and greets He says, wow, greeting to the faithful, the faithful. Hello,
-
how many faithful in the house. Yeah, we want to
-
be faithful to the Lord. Faithful. He greets us like that.
-
He loves us and he wants the best for us.
-
But the way of Jesus is not the same as
-
the way of this world. Everything is opposite. It's just
-
I'm sorry. It's opposite. Opposite in the sense if he
-
says to be to be wise is to be foolish
-
in a sense, I'm not so clever, but God gives
-
me wisdom. Right, you say, he nola take the white road,
-
but Jesus is take the narrow road, right, because the
-
white road will can do anything. Happy, Happy, And then alahmah,
-
crash and burn, Okay, but you take the narrow road.
-
No one died, lah, No one has ever died taking
-
the narrow road. You know what's a narrow road like? No,
-
I'll let me tell you. The narrow road is when
-
you don't do that everything that you want, you take
-
smaller steps and guide it. Come on. And so I
-
want to say it here because this is my This
-
is the mark that God has given to me. Please
-
forgive me parents, but I will say it to my
-
for Mamy and my woman, the young people here in
-
the room. How many young people here in the room.
-
Yeah.
-
I say to people, if you don't do pre marital sex,
-
you won't die. That's the narrow road. I used to
-
preach like this thirty years ago. You didn't exist. Yet
-
you won't die. You will die without water, you will
-
die without food, true, signed, students, But you will not
-
die if you don't have sex. So is Jesus more
-
than enough for you? What you do will matter. So
-
saying it is one thing, but acting on it. So
-
what does James say, you show me your faith. I'll
-
show you my faith by my works. So we live
-
out our faith. Amen, We live out Jesus is calling
-
us to live out with him and he will bring
-
us through. Amen. So examine our paths that we have
-
taken today. Examine it. I have to examine it. I really, brother,
-
you want to look into my life. Every day, I
-
say to Jesus if I'm rushing to do my quiet time,
-
to hit a quota to make Jesus happy that in
-
working it's like, okay, I give you ten minutes and
-
give fifteen minutes. I give you an hour. But I'm
-
not hitting a quota. I'm having a relationship with Jesus.
-
So I want to spend time, and I know I'm rushing.
-
There are days I'm rushing. I'd rather not do it, honestly,
-
just give lips of hisce I want to give from
-
my heart. I don't know if you can identify with me.
-
I don't want to do lips of his I just
-
want to give to the Lord the time that I have.
-
I give to him the words I'm going to say.
-
I got to say it from my heart to Jesus
-
and then out of that outflow will come out to
-
the ministry that we do with one another. Amen. So
-
I want to ask you, would you consider the path
-
that you have chosen because some things can hinder you
-
to the greater breakthrough, the greater to the greater purpose
-
and the plans that God has. Is there a person,
-
is it a place, and is it a possession that
-
is hindering you from saying yes to Jesus for the
-
next next level of faith? Up? Amen, we are believers,
-
but even believer us, we have to guard our hearts. Amen,
-
with a lot of things happening around us. I'm talking
-
to someone in another plan the other day, and you know,
-
I'm trying to encourage you church to say that the
-
economy is going funny, right, you know it's gonna go funny.
-
Then this person say, yeah, I'm thinking what age I
-
should retire here and how much money I should say?
-
I don't know. I'm not a fortune teller. I don't
-
know when you should retire. I ain't retiring. I ain't retiring.
-
Don't you tell me to retire. I wanna work as
-
far as I can, as far as I can serve.
-
I'm gonna carry out. I don't know how much money
-
to save. I don't have. I really don't have. Whoever
-
comes goes goes out. That's it. Yes, Amen, But our
-
eyes is on Jesus, and maybe Jesus send you this morning.
-
Go leave that thing on the at the feet and
-
come follow me. Are you worried about this situation? Are
-
you struggling with that? Are you dealing with that issue
-
with that person? Are you still thinking about that place?
-
Are you thinking about owning that lecro save port? Leave
-
it down there and come follow me. I know I'll
-
have to sell mind to general, give it to her,
-
not sell all right, So Jesus is what is he challenging? You?
-
Leave that situation, put that person for on hold first,
-
put yourself in the hands of Jesus and say, Lord,
-
I commit my life to you. Amen. Don't fear. You
-
never fear when you're in God's hands. Amen. Friends, don't
-
be afraid to trust Jesus. The path will be different,
-
not the way you imagine. But God won't let us down.
-
I've not seen him let us down. I've not seen
-
him let us down. We have come this far. You
-
and I we've been here. We've come this far. In
-
your individual lives, you experience some miracle of God. In
-
our corporate life, we've experienced our miracle of God. He
-
has never left us, not for sakeres We've been out
-
and down, but God still loves us. You might say, oh,
-
I failed him. Hey, you know what, He loves us
-
because we failed, and so that he can we can
-
find strength in him. If we've done well, praise the lot,
-
keep rising up with him. But if I'm down, let's
-
not down. People down some more. Let's lift them up. Amen,
-
Let's lift them up so that they can also write
-
on the strength of God. Amen, hallelujah. I tell you
-
we need to strengthen our faith. We need to hold
-
on to Jesus because things are going to come around.
-
You read it in the news, you see here and there.
-
But until you have your faith anchored in Christ and
-
keep following him, you might be tossed to and fro.
-
We cannot be tossed to and fro. Don't allow anyone
-
to toss to and fro your life. Amen. Come on,
-
you cannot cannot. You can make a choice to your
-
own personal economy. What how much time you spend scrolling lot?
-
That is your attention? Where is your attention? You scross?
-
Gross grows grows, growl. You gave attention to some phone,
-
to somebody else making money on your behalf true? And art. Yes, yes,
-
I just taught our students. There you scroost go thirty
-
minutes one hour gone. What are you? You and I
-
are looking at the moon, shoppy and we didn't buy anything.
-
We just gave our eyes and our time. And with
-
that time you could have set it aside and let
-
us go and do something to enrich your life, to
-
enrich another person's life. Amen, hallelujah. So friends, what good
-
things should you do so that you can inherit eternal life?
-
Come on, just give your heart to Jesus, give your
-
life to him. You will have eternal life in him
-
and the beautiful plans that He has for each and
-
every one of us. Yes, even if I have to
-
sell my pard, actually I have to give it away.
-
No imagine you want it? Ah ha ha ha I
-
like you say, okay, So what is our priority? What's
-
taking priority? Is Jesus the master? Or are you the master?
-
Or is that woman? The master in your life? Is
-
that man? The master of your life? Is that country?
-
The master of your life? Is that thing? What do
-
we need to do to change? Come on, church, brother sisters,
-
pass us, eld us in the house, leaders in the house,
-
brothers and sisters, what is that one thing? Today? As
-
you reflect, that needs to change? How you treat your wife,
-
how you treat your husband, how you love your children,
-
how you love your wife, how you love your friend,
-
how you love God's house? Come on, reflect on these
-
things to say, God, what do you want me to do?
-
How could I beat that vessel of blessing? I'm in need,
-
but my need? Lord, if I keep looking at my need,
-
I'll go down right. So I will look at what else?
-
What else or who else I can bless? Let me
-
bless that person, Let me send that money to that person,
-
let me give it to missions. Let's feed the refugees.
-
I don't know. It will lift you up. That's what
-
Jesus is saying. Go let go of that thing and
-
come follow me. Carry across with me. Follow me. Now
-
you will have eternal life. Don't let the devil rob
-
you of your eternal life. Come on. It's he who is.
-
Jesus restores for us, and Jesus sets us on a road,
-
a highway of freedom and of truth and of life,
-
of healing, and he gives us the confidence to live
-
every day. Stand with me, Church, hallelujah. Did you take
-
back something have you caught something this morning? Amen? Come on,
-
what you do shows what you believe. What you do
-
shows what you believe. Amen. So I do what I
-
do because I believe right, you know that, right when
-
I'm on full energy, is because I believe in Jesus
-
and what He's given to me. I'm excited to live.
-
You might be asking, passa, do you do this at
-
home with your husband? Yeah? I try that. Hey, may
-
let's serve the lot, all right. I'm excited for what
-
we have been given. So why I want to encourage
-
my dear brother sisters. Some of you took a break,
-
took a break from serving, from the leadership, from different things.
-
Can I ask you, Holy Spirit, speak to your heart?
-
Is it time to stand up again? Rise up again?
-
If you haven't been going to home, start going to
-
Holmes again. Hey, if you haven't been doing anything and
-
you feel because so many things that weighed you down,
-
maybe take a step of face and say, how can
-
I how can I do something for my community? How
-
ask your leaders what you can do? You know I'm down?
-
Why not cheer someone else up? Have lunch with somebody today.
-
Don't sit on your own, Just get outside of yourself
-
This is what Jesus saying, Go sell, Go let go
-
of your bitterness. Are you let it go? That's what
-
he's saying. He's asking go sell right now, ask you
-
go sell your bitterness. Do don't give it to me.
-
Don't give me your bitterness. Go sell your anger. I
-
don't want it. Just give it the feet of Jesus.
-
Leave it. I'm tired. Take your tiredness and live it.
-
You're feeling a heaviness in your mind and your heart.
-
Take that heaviness and bring it to the feet of
-
Jesus today. Stop walking in it and stopping stop yourself
-
from letting God use you. That's what Jesus says, carry
-
across follow me, But we don't want to carry the cross.
-
We're waiting when everything is perfect. It ain't gonna be perfect.
-
I'm not perfect and I'm still serving. I'm a broken person.
-
I have failures. I don't do things. I don't say
-
things perfect. My colleagues will tell you that, but that's
-
one thing they know. There's fire in my bones. I
-
won't be the perfect speech giving person. I will blow
-
my mouth out and tell you as it is. You
-
look like a fat face, yes, but I'm just telling
-
you the truth. Nolla, I won't say that to you. Love,
-
I'm just saying sometimes just say out at it. Then
-
oh my, my colleagues are my associates think, Oh my god.
-
There she goes again. Well, I'm sorry, I'm just telling
-
you the truth. Then I go back and reflect. I'm like, oh, Lord,
-
forgive me, and so what I do, Jesus says, go
-
sell that pride, Go sell that anger, Go sell that disappointment,
-
Go sell me give it at the fate of Jesus.
-
Just give it up and take it on. Take on
-
what Christ has for you. Amen. Now I'm gonna ask
-
you Church. I can't imagine in my heart for you
-
to leave this room. Go song. You were either scrolling
-
your phone or you shut off because you said. This
-
woman is preaching. She's mad, she's screaming. No, I just
-
have fire. But I want to ask you today. Jesus
-
is calling you into a relationship, a renewed relationship, a
-
love relationship. He loves you. You felt like running away,
-
you felt like giving up. You didn't like that the
-
way the person spoke to you. Just now, you don't
-
like what's happening in the office. It's been tough a
-
lot of things weighing down on you. Your dreams haven't
-
all come true yet. But Jesus says, come follow me,
-
take up your cross and follow me. Amen, He will
-
give you eternal life. Hallelujah. I'm gonna ask. I'm gonna
-
ask us to sing the song in the mighty name
-
of Jesus. And if you want to lay down any pain,
-
any thing that is wrecking your heart and mind right now,
-
we're gonna ask in the name of Jesus. Lord. The
-
blood of Jesus is over me. And I'm selling my pot. Okay,
-
whatever your pot is, my pot. I'm letting go that
-
that that burden, I'm letting go that mind thing that's
-
playing on my mind, letting go. I boke, come, I boke,
-
come li. Haven't this thing has happened to me? And
-
I boke. I'm like no, I'm not saying this is right.
-
Take it and put it at the feet of Jesus
-
right now, because you can't live a boke I'm life forever.
-
You know all then you're not living, but you want
-
to live a life that Christ has for you. He
-
does come through for us.
