  1. You're listening to a message to go from at church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your day.

  3. Right. The title for today is Disciples That Honor, and

  4. we want to unpack what that really means as well.

  5. What is honor in God's side and what is honor

  6. in the eyes of the church?

  7. Right? As Christians? How do we honor? Okay?

  8. I'm gonna ask a series of questions and I need

  9. your participation. Okay, So everyone, can you lift up your

  10. right hand?

  11. Okay? Some of you not.

  12. She wishes your right hand. Our right hand means honor, okay,

  13. left hand? Lift up your left hand. Left hand means dishonor?

  14. Got it? Okay? What is right hand?

  15. Honor? Left hand?

  16. Okay?

  17. So let's go to the first thought that I have.

  18. Okay when you read this, treating family members as interruptions

  19. or instead of priorities.

  20. Okay, lift up your hands, honor, this honor? Yeah, I

  21. see some right hand. Now what's this right hand or

  22. left hand? You don't know already? Right hand is honor?

  23. Left hand?

  24. Is this honor? Is this honor?

  25. Or?

  26. This honor? You're not sure? Do you do?

  27. You do you treat your family members as interruptions?

  28. Okay, yeah, this is how we're gonna go.

  29. Okay, so this one clearly is this.

  30. Honor, all right?

  31. It is an application of the word honor. All right, Okay,

  32. let's go to the next one. Choosing to address conflicts

  33. privately and respectfully.

  34. What do you think honor honor? What is the opposite

  35. of this? Tell me.

  36. What could be the opposite of this statement? Publicly, yeah, exactly?

  37. Posting on social media about the conflict or the dislike

  38. that you have of another person. That is dishonor. Okay, okay,

  39. let's go on to the next one, talking back sharply,

  40. rolling ice, or responding with sarcasm to parents or authority figures.

  41. Let me see your hands, left hand or right hand,

  42. a dishonor. All the young people's like, ah, that's me correct, No,

  43. young people, I know I've been there before, rolling ice,

  44. dripping with sarcasm. Okay, all right, Let's go on to

  45. the next one. Posting content that builds others up, not

  46. test them down. Honor, dishonor Oh no, dishonor honor. Okay,

  47. this is honoring. Okay, Let's go into the next one.

  48. Showing minimal effort because no one appreciates me anyway?

  49. What is this honor?

  50. Or?

  51. This honor? How many of you can relate to this?

  52. Let's be real, Yeah you can relate to this right

  53. because you're like no one sees anyways. Okay, let's go

  54. on to the next one. Being reliable. Yah, yes means yes,

  55. come on? Okay, yeah, you agree that this is a

  56. sign of honor. Let's go What else do we have?

  57. Parents? Okay?

  58. This is for parents yelling at or belittling children instead

  59. of correcting with dignity. What's this, hey, honor? I see

  60. you're raising your right hand so it looks like our teens,

  61. they say, Okay, come on, bring it on, parents.

  62. Bill little me in public?

  63. Okay, okay, this one speaking of your spouse with respect

  64. publicly and privately?

  65. What is this honor?

  66. Or?

  67. This honor?

  68. Honor right right hand publicly and privately? Okay, can spouses?

  69. Can you please learn this because I've seen so many

  70. that do not know how to respect their spouses. Okay,

  71. let's do I have one more?

  72. Ah?

  73. Okay, So that's there's some things to think about now.

  74. I just want to say, first off, that honor is

  75. not about agreeing with someone or liking someone.

  76. Do you agree with this statement.

  77. Yeah, okay, because sometimes we say I don't like that person,

  78. therefore I do not honor that leader told me off,

  79. and therefore I don't like him, and therefore I don't

  80. honor him. Okay, So can we be very clear baseline

  81. that honor is not about what you think of that person,

  82. whether you like the person, you like their preferences, you

  83. like the decision making. It's not about liking someone or

  84. it's about you know, agreeing with them. You might have

  85. very different ideas or political ideas about what is right,

  86. but that does not mean you do not honor right now,

  87. So where does honor come from? So let's think about it.

  88. Honor then flows from recognizing these three things very important. Firstly,

  89. what is the first one? Can you read this life?

  90. What is the first one? God's authority? Second one, God's

  91. image in people?

  92. And third one do we agree with this? This is

  93. the basis of honor.

  94. Right. It's firstly, you gotta recognize.

  95. Who is in charge.

  96. That's God, right, and that's why he gave us these

  97. commandments to live and you know, living in God's kingdom. Right,

  98. So all of us want to be citizens of heaven?

  99. Yes, anyone?

  100. Yeah, we all want to be citizens of heaven. And

  101. do you know that the way of honor is the

  102. way in the kingdom of Heaven.

  103. In heaven, there.

  104. Is no disrespect, There is no oh, I think you're

  105. better or I think you're worse, because the way of

  106. kingdom is God sees every one of you, every single

  107. eight billion people on earth and those who are past

  108. the same made in God's Do you see that or not?

  109. You look at your neighbor, this one, this one godsy

  110. magia after you leave your spouse for the theis huh?

  111. This one God?

  112. The major find it so hard to believe? Right, Okay,

  113. reality versus what is truth sometimes is different, but we

  114. need to come back to truth. Okay, The truth is

  115. every single person was made in God's image and there

  116. is God's all there, and we'll talk about that.

  117. The hierarchy.

  118. There's the reason why God put hierarchies in our lives.

  119. Do you know that God is the God of order?

  120. There was day one, day two, day three, day fourty five,

  121. day six of creation? Right, there was a day of order.

  122. And God is a God of order. And that's what

  123. it's all there in our lives. Do you want to

  124. live in chaos instead he today everyone is like, I

  125. do whatever I want la.

  126. Right today, I feel.

  127. Like I am a cat, So treat me like a

  128. cat please.

  129. Now, right, there's there's no everyone goes with.

  130. Their feelings and whims and fancies now, and there is

  131. a loss of the honor of God the order of

  132. things in life.

  133. Okay, okay, let's move on. Let's move on. Now, let's

  134. get real. Now, if someone looks.

  135. At your life, would they see that you're a person

  136. who knows how to honor? Think about it, ah, think

  137. about your reflection of your life. If someone looks at you,

  138. they're like, whoa, I know this person gang way he

  139. knows how to honor?

  140. Right? And how you honor?

  141. Okay, I just give you a very simple example. Right

  142. right now, there's someone sitting in front of you, and

  143. if you're behind, you're talking to someone. Is that honor

  144. or dishonor you can't see you on right, honor dishonor

  145. if you're on your phone, you're like on social media.

  146. Right now I'm calling you out, calling you out? Is

  147. that honor or dishonor? You might think no one else sees, right,

  148. It's okay, I have eyes, I can see. But you

  149. know what's more important than me is the Lord. He

  150. watches everything, you know, So sometimes we're like, don't care

  151. that nobody sees right behind the doors in our own room,

  152. nobody sees.

  153. But you know, the Holy Spirit is there all the time.

  154. So who can we lie? Honestly? Who are we lying to?

  155. Ourselves? Are basically right? So are you a person? Who

  156. do you honor? And how do you honor? And you

  157. know why I want to say how do you honor?

  158. Because it can be seen. Honor can be seen, and

  159. so can dishonor. Okay, all right, so let's go to

  160. the next Now, it's very interesting when I was trying

  161. to do a word study of this word honor, and

  162. the Hebrew word of it is called cove vote. Can

  163. you say covote with me?

  164. Cove vote?

  165. Okay, it's okay, let's learn a Hebrew word. Right. Whenever

  166. you go into your Old Testament and you see the

  167. word covevote, it means honor. But what is very interesting

  168. to me that the first understanding of this word is

  169. this word glory. It's actually glory. So one is glory.

  170. You know the word glory? And oh no, you always

  171. hear this right, just now, at the end of the song,

  172. we say we'll bring you glory. What does that mean?

  173. What does that mean? Bringing praise? Bringing respect? All right,

  174. it's okay. Wait, let me ask you another question. Is

  175. glory and honor the same thing?

  176. What do you think?

  177. Yes?

  178. I see some not the rest of you? Not sure?

  179. Right, never mind, we will learn together. That's why we're

  180. here right now. The very word is self cove vote.

  181. It means wait, right, something that's heavy heaven is something

  182. of substance, somethings of value. Right.

  183. It means God's majesty.

  184. Okay, yes, I mean okay, so far glory is God's majesty.

  185. So now someone asks you what is glory?

  186. What would you say? Covote? Yeah? What is covote?

  187. It's God's majesty. Okay. Can we learn on that what

  188. is glory? Glory is God's majesty.

  189. Okay.

  190. Now, it's very important for us to understand where this

  191. came from. And let's go to Exodus chapter thirty three.

  192. Do you know that this is when Moses, that was

  193. the anointed man of God, he was called to lead

  194. the children out of Egypt. Correct you understand this? You

  195. remember this?

  196. Okay?

  197. Only the friend people are back. People, Can you give

  198. me some response? Do you know that giving response is

  199. so a sign of honor? Okay, I'm not gonna make

  200. any excuses for myself or anyone. Right, this is who

  201. we are, all right, ex Church. When we believe in something,

  202. we respond.

  203. Okay. If you don't respond, it means either you don't.

  204. Understand it, you can ask me to repeat, or.

  205. You're not interested.

  206. Okay, So come on, I remind so your honor can

  207. be seen.

  208. Right.

  209. So when you're very quiet and all that, I can

  210. see Okay, I can feel it because he's so quiet.

  211. All right, But we're just saying, you know, Christians.

  212. You're full of life, right, so you can respond to

  213. the word of God.

  214. Amen.

  215. Okay, let's go. So in Exosus study tree is where

  216. Moses wanted to lead the people. God wanted Moses to

  217. lead the people out. But the children of Israel, what

  218. did they do? What are they very good at? Children

  219. of iserl complaining, murmuring, rebelling.

  220. Against the lot?

  221. Yeah, okay, so agree on that, right, it's clearly in

  222. the world of God. Now, So because of the rebellion

  223. of the children of Israel, God say, okay, your go

  224. yourself to the promised Land. I don't want to go

  225. with you anymore. And Moses says, no, Lord, he said

  226. that God, if you do not go with me, I will.

  227. Not go at all. How many of you? Let me

  228. ask you another question.

  229. If you are going to a place called the promised Land,

  230. I don't know what your promised land looks like. It

  231. could be another country Australia. Oh no, no, I'm not Australia. No no, no,

  232. no no. It could be another foreign country that you

  233. think your dreams or your dreams will come true. Right,

  234. it could be a dream job. But if God's presence

  235. is not there, would you still go? Opportunities open? You know,

  236. offers are coming in to do your PhD, your master whatever.

  237. But if you know that that is the promised land

  238. that God said I will go, I will give you,

  239. but he says I will not go with you, would

  240. you still go? No?

  241. Right? Oh, yes, you think about it. You think about

  242. You have to think about it.

  243. For your own answer, because you might say, but it's okay. No,

  244. God already opened the door. God already gave the promise war.

  245. But God says, here, because of the rebellion of the

  246. hearts of the people. I will not go with you

  247. because God cannot stand it when there's rebellion. Right, And

  248. Moses says, no, Lord, I will stay in this dreary

  249. land without going to the promise land, as long as

  250. you are here with me. Do we have that kind

  251. of relationship with the Lord, that says God, if you

  252. don't go, I will not go. That relationship or that

  253. guy very handsome, very rich, he's got it all made,

  254. but God is not in this relationship.

  255. Would you still say yes?

  256. Right? And this is something that we can learn from Moses.

  257. And therefore, so Moses is pleading with the Lord God.

  258. I will not go if you do not go with me,

  259. but please show me your covote. Right, So we're coming

  260. to the word again. Coverte, please show me your cavote.

  261. And God says, I'm just gonna go. What's the twenty one?

  262. He says, And the Lord said, here is a place

  263. by me, and you shall stand on the rock. So

  264. it shall be while my glory passes by, my cavote

  265. passes by, that I will put you in the clef

  266. of the rock and will cover you with my hand

  267. while I pass by.

  268. Then I will take away.

  269. My hand, and you shall see my back, but my

  270. face shall not be seen. Okay, Now what does this

  271. tell us about God's glory? Tell me what can you

  272. read about this? From God's glory there is powerful? What else?

  273. There is way? What else? Protection?

  274. Yeah? Yeah, okay, God's glory is so magnificent that he

  275. had to protect Moses because you know what God's glory

  276. can kill. Do you know that the magnificence of God,

  277. the holiness of God can kill unholy people like you

  278. and me?

  279. Do you understand this now?

  280. So we know from this just context understanding that God's

  281. glory is so big to be whole that even Moses

  282. asking to see God's glory, right, it's very very bold requests.

  283. How many of you dare to say, God, I want

  284. to see your glory? You know many of us, you

  285. know Christian world, We're like God, I want to hear

  286. your voice. I want to see your glory when God

  287. speak to you or you be trembling, okay, you'd be

  288. so fearful in a good way. Right. So this is

  289. the first context of the word glory. Covote Okay, covote

  290. is what is coverte glory? Now as pasta can I

  291. shed earlier. This is also found in our overarching vision

  292. of ex church. You just how about up two fourteen.

  293. Let's read this together, okay, three two one. For the

  294. earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory

  295. of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

  296. Do you see that the mean word here is covote.

  297. All that we do, all that we exist, is for

  298. the covote of the Lord. Everything that we do is

  299. for God, God's covote. Are you okay with this vision

  300. or note? Right?

  301. Do you want to reflect God's glory in our lives?

  302. We do?

  303. Right?

  304. Okay?

  305. So that's what it means to live a life a

  306. disciple that learns how to covevote.

  307. Okay, Now let's go to another word.

  308. So, so this word covevote has two meanings too. Past

  309. The first one we understand is glory, Yes, glory. But

  310. the other word, Remember I was searching for the word honor,

  311. but it's.

  312. Also the same word. It's also covote. Now what does

  313. covote then mean?

  314. It means to give weight, It means to esteem, to

  315. treat as significant.

  316. Okay, Now I want to show.

  317. You something that is very something more practical for you.

  318. Is that?

  319. Okay? Okay?

  320. So right now, I'm gonna invite Elder Mabel to just

  321. stand here beside me.

  322. Okay. She's like, h come, Elder Mabel. Why? Okay?

  323. Do y'all know Elder Mabel. Yes, she's the lovely wife

  324. of Elder Terans and she's always here. And I just

  325. want to acknowledge Elder Mabel because she's always one of

  326. the first to arrive for intercessory prayer. And do you

  327. know that a church that doesn't pray doesn't move right,

  328. there's no power in it. And so she has taken

  329. it upon herself to come early for intercessory prayer and

  330. just press in, even though she might only be the

  331. only person because no one else sees right. Sometimes I'm

  332. also talking to my leaders. Where are you guys?

  333. Okay? But it's okay. We're learning from this, okay.

  334. And one of the reason why I'm always honored and

  335. blessed by other maybel.

  336. Right, is because she cares.

  337. Do you know that she does things not to be

  338. recognized this way, but I am recognizing her this way.

  339. To honor her. Is that she always looks out for

  340. the speakers.

  341. You know, She's always praying for speakers, and she's always

  342. prayed for pastors Kenneth and Sandra. That is the way

  343. that she has been thought to honor her leaders right.

  344. And one of the things that I learn from other

  345. Mayhbor is you know the you know, honor can be seen?

  346. Did I say that ad honor can be seen? Right?

  347. And it's an action that you do. And what she

  348. does right.

  349. If she knows that either me or Elope Hole is

  350. speaking on a circuit, she will always get us a drink.

  351. It's as simple as that. It's as simple as that.

  352. But it's just saying that I see you and I care.

  353. That's what honor is. You know, I see you and

  354. I can And I realize many of us don't see.

  355. We don't see each other. We just look at our phones.

  356. What we see is what we see on our little

  357. black box. But we have lost the art of honoring people,

  358. real people around us, true or not. And so you know,

  359. the glory of God is there. You know, you know

  360. you cannot add to God's glory. Do you agree with this?

  361. Can you add to God's glory or not? We cannot.

  362. God's glory is there. It is who he is. But

  363. we can also walk past by God every day and

  364. not acknowledging him at all, not seeing that he is

  365. not giving thanks to him. Right, we can pass by

  366. God's glory and that is who we are. But to

  367. actually stop and just acknowledge someone.

  368. Is this you know, because we're talking.

  369. About honor and glory right now, let me show you

  370. something here. Oh it's all tangled up, okay, like double honor?

  371. What is this? It's a metal.

  372. Actually right, it's just ribbon and metal, Troy, not ribbon

  373. and metal. But why do we put so much significance

  374. to this because it brings recognition?

  375. Right?

  376. You know our Olympic medal is right? They trained so

  377. hard for what to get a medal like this? They

  378. trained for years and years from three years old just

  379. to get a medal like this. But you see that

  380. the thing about something like this is right when you

  381. are able to add weight to someone.

  382. Let me give an example. Yes, I am, can I

  383. give her our class double double is? Thank God?

  384. By it's okay, But do you do you know what

  385. I've done for her is to add weight to her

  386. current Not I have esteemed her, but I have added

  387. weight to her. And so you understand now that Cavote

  388. is firstly God's glory but cavote is also honor our

  389. action to add weight to someone.

  390. Understand.

  391. All right, Okay, so let's just kind of let's just

  392. pray for all the people.

  393. I just want to.

  394. She's she's so shy now, she's like, I'm gonna sink

  395. into the floor. But can we stretch forth our hands

  396. and just bless elder Mabel.

  397. Father, we just.

  398. Thank you for Eld Mabel's life, for God, that she

  399. truly believes and You and serves you with all her heart, Lord,

  400. using her giftings and a talents. Lord, I thank you

  401. that she lives a life of honor, honoring her husband,

  402. honoring those around her, honoring the Church, but most importantly

  403. honoring God. And Lord, may you honor her even as

  404. she honors You and Jesus. Nay me pray, Amen, Amen,

  405. thank you, Thank you? All right, Ellen, we'd you can

  406. take a seat. Thank you so much.

  407. Church. Do you know that when you lift up.

  408. Your hands to bless her you have added weight to her?

  409. Did you realize that you have added weight to her

  410. when you believed in that prayer?

  411. It's very tangible, you know. Friends.

  412. Honor is not something like oh I feel like doing it,

  413. but it's something that is tangible is an action. Okay,

  414. So let's read view again. What is covote coote, Let's

  415. go to the next light. Let's go to the next light. Okay,

  416. review again. Now, what is covote? Covote is God's glory. Okay,

  417. He's intrinsic greatness, beauty, and majesty.

  418. It is who God is. Who God is.

  419. You cannot change that, right. It is whether you acknowledge

  420. him or not. You know, eight billion people, maybe seven

  421. billion people don't acknowledge Jesus. But that doesn't change God's glory. Amen,

  422. it doesn't change at all. It exists with or without

  423. a human response. Now, the other side of covote is honor.

  424. This is us, it says, it's our response.

  425. To God's glory. Okay.

  426. Honor is valuing God rightly. It's submitting to him. It's

  427. respecting his name, obeying him, treating him as waiting not casual.

  428. Honor is human action in light of God's glory. Man,

  429. do you agree with this?

  430. Yeah?

  431. So what is your action now, friends? In light of

  432. God's glory?

  433. Okay?

  434. So that's something that we want to learn. Okay, do

  435. you mind helping me bring that back the black by

  436. the black. Ye, yes, now you see the thing is

  437. it's friends, right, thank you. We can ask Christians right,

  438. think about God's glory. Yes, God's glory. You are there,

  439. But do you know that we are a reflection of

  440. God's glory? And how do we reflect God's glory when

  441. we honor?

  442. Got more stuff? What is this?

  443. So?

  444. Whenever I choose to honor.

  445. And let's say, in a praise and worship session like that,

  446. I'm lifting out my hands. I'm singing with my loudest voice.

  447. I'm doing all this you can see right? Can you

  448. see or not?

  449. Can see you?

  450. And whether someone lifting up hands or not? Or hands

  451. in the pocket or arms crossed. When I choose to

  452. lift up my hands because that's how the Bible teaches

  453. us to praise God. Right, lift up your hands, clap, singing, shouting.

  454. What I do when I do all that is I reflect.

  455. I reflect God's glory can be seen. But whenever I

  456. speak rudely to my parents, I don't reflect God's glory.

  457. No longer do I reflect God's glory when I am

  458. late always.

  459. To my work with my group project?

  460. Am I reflecting God's glory when I am dismissive with

  461. the people around me.

  462. I am not.

  463. Showing God's glory, But when I honor, I am reflecting

  464. God's glory. Friends, you cannot add to God's glory, but

  465. we can reflect that you reflecting. Okay, right, let's go

  466. to the next thought. So, principles of covote honor? Who

  467. and how do we do it?

  468. Okay? So let's go on.

  469. Firstly, it's you know, Fast already said that our first

  470. priority should always be God. Okay, it says in Psalms

  471. twenty nine, give unto the Lord, Oh you mighty ones,

  472. give unto the Lord what glory and strength? Give unto

  473. the Lord the glory due to his name. Worship the

  474. Lord in the beauty of holiness. Do you know that

  475. worship is a form of honor to God?

  476. Worship? How do you worship? Friends? Do you only worship

  477. on Sunday? Do you worship every day?

  478. One of the things I told myself when I learned

  479. this principle. Do you know that all these things comes

  480. from a place of conviction. You know what conviction is

  481. is the opposite of convenience. Oh, conviction is the opposite

  482. of convenience, because conviction sets you on this path of saying,

  483. this is how I want to walk the path of

  484. the Kingdom of Heaven.

  485. And so one of the.

  486. Things that I told myself, because we live in such

  487. a distracted world. Right, all of you probably right now thinking, oh, oh,

  488. when is lunch? Where is lunch? Who am I going

  489. lunching with? Right, will live in a world of distraction.

  490. And it's proven, okay, especially since two thousand and seven

  491. when iPhone was invented. Okay, that put everyone's personal pocket

  492. PC into your pocket, and therefore that's your closest friend.

  493. Now do you know that average person touches the phone

  494. two thy seven hundred times?

  495. Only?

  496. I wonder how many of us give God that kind

  497. of attention every day? Every day we're giving our attention

  498. to this because it's a way of life. Right, Everything

  499. is true here, even reading the Bible is true here.

  500. But how many of us if we say we put

  501. God first? Laugh, if we say la, we say we

  502. want to put God first? What are you doing that

  503. shows God that you're honoring him?

  504. What is your action, friends, not just lifts.

  505. Up his yeares I sing, I honor you, I give

  506. you my life, I surrender. But what is your action

  507. that shows to God.

  508. This, this one puts me first.

  509. So one of the things I give you a practical example,

  510. right for me, first thing in the morning. Okay, you

  511. reach out for your phone, correct, true or not? Friends

  512. tell me you have you don't even brush your TDA.

  513. All of you reach for your phone first. I also say,

  514. but I reach you out for my phone just to

  515. charge it, and I leave it alone because I have

  516. made a conviction in my own life that the first

  517. thing that I want to go into my brains, through

  518. my eyes and my.

  519. Ears is the Word of God.

  520. Because you see your friends, you know whatever you touch

  521. on your phone, right, you'll be the world.

  522. Right, you be news, you be social.

  523. Media, you'll be what's tiktoking, trending. I don't know what

  524. is the latest trend out there. So you feel your

  525. mind first with all these things. And some of it

  526. is rubbish. Can I say that it's true? Because not

  527. everything is edifying to you if you think about it.

  528. I only know that the true thing that edifies me

  529. and feeds my soul every day.

  530. Is the Word of God.

  531. So if you notice already, then your action should show. Right.

  532. Why do you not make.

  533. That a stand for yourself and say, I will not

  534. let anything come across my mind unless it's You're worth first, Lord,

  535. Just you first. This is how I'm making it a

  536. point to make God my priority.

  537. Is it very practical? Can you do it? Of course? Friends?

  538. Of course it's a choice.

  539. The choice to honor God is is a choice.

  540. Right.

  541. I don't do it just because I have the title

  542. of an elder. I can very easily go the other way.

  543. Nobody knows it, right, nobody knows nobody. My husband don't

  544. check on me, my kids don't check on me. It's

  545. me and the Lord. So am I honoring him?

  546. How am I showing honor to the Lord? Worship? How

  547. are you worshiping the Lord? A man?

  548. Let's go on to the next thought.

  549. God really deserves our honor? Do you believe this?

  550. Do you believe that God, who he is, he deserves

  551. fully our heart, mind, soul, and strength.

  552. Do you believe this?

  553. It says in Romance, for of Him and true Him

  554. and to Him are all things to whom be covote

  555. forever a man. Again in Revelations it says you are

  556. worthy or Lord to receive covote and honor and power,

  557. for you created all things and by your will, They

  558. exist and created. This is fundamental. Do you believe that

  559. everything that you are right now is because of Him?

  560. Do you believe this that the fact that your body

  561. is able to wake up this morning, that there's breath

  562. in your lungs, that your blood is circulating in your body,

  563. then you can go to the toilet this morning.

  564. All of this is by God's grace. And if you

  565. can come.

  566. To that fundamental understanding, then you can't help.

  567. But say, thank you Lord. My flash is.

  568. Working today, Thank you Lord. I'm feeling hungry. It means

  569. you know that feeling hungry is a good thing, you know.

  570. Do you know that you can lift up your hands,

  571. you can walk? This is all God? And so what

  572. is our response in honor of God?

  573. Who he is?

  574. Do you know? Basically? God's glory is who he is.

  575. Honor is our response to him.

  576. That's it?

  577. What how are we responding to the God who made

  578. the whole earth everything in your Do you know that

  579. everything in your life is touched by the Lord?

  580. It came from the Lord?

  581. Your business, your work, your promotion, your titles, your studies,

  582. everything is from the Lord. So why do we behave

  583. as though God is not in all of these things.

  584. Many of us go through our life thinking that, oh God,

  585. you are you are limited to Sunday worship. Two ours

  586. tend the t to top the d that's it, that's

  587. all our worship. But do you know everything that you

  588. do is a chance to reflect God's glory. Everything that

  589. you do is a chance to show God and the

  590. world who.

  591. You belong to.

  592. Who are you reflecting? When people look at you, who

  593. do they see? Do they see your personality? Oh no,

  594. I cannot you know, I can't.

  595. Be early on.

  596. I'm always later. I'm a night bird. Thatfore I cannot

  597. wake up early. But do you know that all those

  598. things are excuses, right, They're just excuses that we created

  599. and we validated and say, okay, friends, you know, validate

  600. me because it's so hard. But how who are we reflecting?

  601. Let's go on to the next thought. Now, the thing

  602. is right, God is so he's so favorable to us.

  603. He's not saying, okay, just learn how to show me glory.

  604. But do you know that this word honor comes with

  605. a promise? And this is taken from First Samuel, chapter two,

  606. verse thirty says, but now the Lord says, far be

  607. it from me for those who honor Okay, let's read

  608. this together, lah, so that you put it into your spirit. Okay,

  609. three two one. But now the Lord says, far be

  610. it from me. For those who honor me, I will honor,

  611. and those who despise me shall be lightly esteemed. Heymen,

  612. God says, I will take you on a bad friends,

  613. you learn how to honor me.

  614. You wait and see how I will honor you back.

  615. Do you know God is just amazing, You know, he's

  616. just so great and magnificent. A God who is so

  617. magnificent is saying I will honor you back. And do

  618. you think God will lie?

  619. No way.

  620. All of us who have walked with the Lord have

  621. experienced this first hand that when we choose God, God

  622. chooses us.

  623. Amen. He's just so faithful in that way. It's a promise,

  624. you know. Now let's go. Let's go on to now.

  625. Remember in Exodus.

  626. The littery earlier, the glory of the Law could not

  627. be seen because it was too magnificent, it was too powerful.

  628. But you see, the thing is right, our God. It's

  629. not someone who's just high and lofty up there in

  630. heavens who cannot be rich.

  631. Hello, Hello, Lou Lou, Lou Lou, God, can you hear me?

  632. Me me? God is not some three billion light years

  633. away from us. God wants to come near to us.

  634. And that's why he says, Yes, you cannot see my

  635. glory as I am, but I'm going to send you

  636. my son, Jesus Christ, because he is the embodiment of

  637. the glory of God. God wants to bring his glory

  638. near to us. You know, friends, because you see, he says,

  639. and the word became flash, and don't among and we

  640. beheld his glory.

  641. The glory is.

  642. The only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

  643. Who are we talking about here, Jesus? This is Jesus.

  644. He is the one who became flash so that the

  645. glory of the Lord will.

  646. Be revealed to us. Amen, are you thankful?

  647. Can you give God a praise a clap offering for

  648. sending Jesus to us so that we can be near and.

  649. Experience the glory of the Lord. Amen, let's move on

  650. now to me.

  651. One of the greatest applications.

  652. Of honor is obedience. Agree.

  653. It doesn't matter what you say, it doesn't matter what

  654. you feel, but it's whether you obey or not. And

  655. one of the greatest things you know in the first

  656. commandment is you should have no other gods before me.

  657. How many of us have other gods in our lives.

  658. So we talk about honoring the Lord, talking about about

  659. putting him as first, then, is really about saying no

  660. other God's Lord. Everything that I do now will come

  661. through you, will be brought before you and will get

  662. your okay first, your stem of approval before I proceed.

  663. That is how we honor God. Okay, now who do

  664. we honor? Let's go on.

  665. Let's go on now the first part and I'm just

  666. gonna go through this quickly.

  667. You see, remember I said that honor.

  668. Flows from God's authority, right, and he also flows from

  669. God's order. And you know that there's a reason why

  670. we have parents, because parents are the first stage of life.

  671. In which we learn how to honor.

  672. If we don't know how to honor our parents, let's

  673. not even talk about honoring God.

  674. Parents. You can see, right God, you can see or

  675. not cannot.

  676. So God, in his wisdom put parents in the place

  677. so we learn the way of honor. You know what

  678. it says, honor your father and mother so that you

  679. may live long in the land. The Lord, your God

  680. is giving you right. Listen to your father who gave

  681. you life. Do not despise your mother when she is all.

  682. Give me some examples of honoring your parents. Let's be practical, yeah,

  683. say again. Being present.

  684. Wow, that's a tough one, right in.

  685. This distracted world, in a very busy, busy, busy, busy,

  686. busy world.

  687. And we think that busy is a good thing.

  688. Do you know that when you're too busy, you're distracted

  689. to do what is the right thing.

  690. So being present means you actually have to be there.

  691. La Hello, And when you're there, don't be present with this.

  692. So many of you like, hi, mom, dad, Yeah, any

  693. you're talking and you know that is not honor being present.

  694. How else do you honor your parents? You don't honor

  695. your parents.

  696. Celebrate their above day and you remember on above days

  697. even though someone you say, hey, my family don't celebrate

  698. both days. How about this year you make a difference.

  699. Come on, you can set a new culture. Lah, you're

  700. just saying, I remember you, I honor you, I thank.

  701. You, I love you. How about that.

  702. We don't say things like that enough because we think

  703. that we are this is our culture you know, we

  704. don't say I love you one in the Chinese culture.

  705. Come on, we're talking about Kingdom culture now. I'm not

  706. talking about our racial culture because you are citizens of

  707. Heaven Marine. We're not citizens of China, Chinese or whatever.

  708. I don't know what LAH move beyond that. You know,

  709. sometimes when you see each other in church, right, you

  710. give a smile? Hello, can you SMI please do your

  711. neighbor give a beautiful smile? This is very weighty, you know,

  712. because most of us so, hey, y ma, right, so

  713. to actually push out a smile, it's such a difficult thing.

  714. But when you are able to do that smile to

  715. everyone here, you're giving weight to that person. You're honoring

  716. because you're saying, I acknowledge you, I see you. Hello,

  717. You're important to us.

  718. Give a good handshake.

  719. Right.

  720. It's simple things like that. Friends, we don't see each other.

  721. One of the things I know our campus team tried

  722. to teach all our campus students' teens is that you know,

  723. when you sit in people's car or don't sit behind

  724. like greb blah hello, correct, because you're treating the person

  725. like a grab driver. I sit behind, Okay, take me

  726. to wherever? I want to go, huh, our five star

  727. give great things. I'm all right, you know the right

  728. thing to do is sit in front and just say, hey,

  729. you know, thank you so much?

  730. Do you say thank you?

  731. Not thank you? It's so hard loud, this please and

  732. thank you thinger, it's gone out of a culture. You know.

  733. I think this is to be revived. Do we know

  734. how to say please and thank you and not come

  735. on loud? You're not three years olds, right, but we're

  736. an adult that has forgotten how to even honor as

  737. simple as that, just as simple, please, thank you, thank

  738. you for those who are serving extreme sound ex. Kids, teachers, parents,

  739. you say thank you to your exist teachers and not

  740. like come bring kids and go.

  741. Do you know what I'm saying?

  742. We have we have lost the culture of honor, but

  743. it is the way of kingdom, and for us to

  744. truly reflect Christ.

  745. Is to show honor to one another. Amen. Let's move on. Okay,

  746. Leaders and authorities, Okay.

  747. This one I want to do out so much. You know

  748. that this isn't a word of God. He says, let

  749. everything be subject, Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities.

  750. The one in authority is God's servant for your good.

  751. You might not like your parents, you might not like

  752. the Prime minister, but this is what God's words says,

  753. be subject to them. Do you know Jesus didn't have

  754. to be subject to his parents early parents?

  755. Who are they? Joseph and Mary? Who are they?

  756. Nobody's But the word of God says Jesus was subjected

  757. to his parents, and he went home with them. If

  758. Jesus can even be subjecting himself, he's the king of

  759. kings and the Lord of lords. Okay. He learned the

  760. way of honor by subjecting himself to the authority that's

  761. above him. Honor everyone, love the brotherhood, Fear God, Honor

  762. the Emperor.

  763. We're going to emperor.

  764. Okay, But can you pray for your leaders peace? If

  765. you think your leader is very bad, right, can you

  766. pray for them instead of talking bad about them, you

  767. pray for them?

  768. Say God, this leader?

  769. Do you tall help me submit? Even though I don't agree?

  770. Who tapana? Okay, let's move on.

  771. Let's move on. Okay.

  772. Now, how many of us are competitive? Here?

  773. Don't have competitive friends? Only me?

  774. Right? Okay, I'm super competitive. If you wanta play captain

  775. ball with me, I will crush you. Yeah, that's how

  776. competitive I am.

  777. Okay, don't be like that. Okay, big gentle.

  778. And feasable kind to one another must follow that. Okay, Sorry, Lord,

  779. I repent, But do you know I love this verse? Right?

  780. In Romance tough ten, he says, be kindly affectionate to

  781. one another with brotherly love, in honor, giving preference to

  782. one another.

  783. But what I love.

  784. About the ESV version, he says, this love one another

  785. with brotherly affection.

  786. I'll do one another.

  787. In showing honor.

  788. WHOA?

  789. Come on, if you want to be competitive in anything

  790. in life, be competitive in showing honor.

  791. WHOA? Can you imagine the kind of family we will

  792. live in if all of.

  793. Us just want to show you other no after you,

  794. after you, after your no, no, then.

  795. No one will go home?

  796. Right?

  797. But you know what I mean?

  798. Or what kind of amazing family culture we will build

  799. if we learn to show honor to one another.

  800. Imen, Let's go next one.

  801. Now, this is something that I have learned, and I

  802. still have.

  803. To remind myself.

  804. Write those who walk with me and I walk with

  805. them Philippians. Before that, Philippians, Philippians. Let's go back to

  806. one most like Philippians two three. He says, let nothing

  807. be done through selfish ambition of vain conceit, but in

  808. loneliness of mind, let each esteem others better than himself.

  809. This is a tough one because all of us have pray.

  810. We all think we are better the corona. We all

  811. think we are better than our neighbor. But Philippines tells

  812. us and teaches us that can you please think of

  813. other people better than yoursel? Oh what but I don't

  814. agree my idea is better? Then you show the way

  815. of Honor's counter culture in our friends, it's counter culture

  816. because what the world is telling you you are the best,

  817. You go get it right. Doesn't matter who you step over,

  818. as long as you reach the top. But the culture

  819. of Jesus is saying, no, I'm gonna lay my life

  820. for you. I'm gonna be the stepping stone for everyone

  821. to cross. I'm literally gonna be the one on the sacrifice.

  822. Let's go to the final slight. Now, why do we

  823. want to honor? Is if we call ourselves disciples of

  824. Jesus and you want to follow his way. Jesus honored

  825. more than anyone else on earth, honored. Jesus honored the Father,

  826. even though he's God. He honored the scriptures. Do you

  827. know the word of God? Can I encourage you to

  828. honor the word of God? How can you honor? Take notes,

  829. read it, meditate upon it, tell it to your friends.

  830. That's how you honor God. That's how you show him glory.

  831. Is the word of God at the age of your

  832. mouth or not in your hearts, principles that you live by.

  833. Jesus honored people in society, dishonored right, the outcast, the women,

  834. the children. Jesus honored leaders and structures. Do you know

  835. that he says, give to Caesar what he sees us?

  836. He didn't say, no, don't give to Caesar. Give to Caesar.

  837. What it sees is give to God.

  838. What is God's He honored parents, family, He honored his disciples.

  839. What is the greatest act that Jesus did for his disciples?

  840. He washed their feet. He washed their feet. Are you

  841. able to wash your neighbor's feet? Oh, Taperna, I've seen

  842. before in a wedding, which is my sister in lawst wedding,

  843. in the wedding ceremony, instead of lighting of candles or

  844. doing all those things, they washed his hadther's feet. It

  845. was very significant. Of course, my brother in law is

  846. a joker because he wore ten pairs of socks, so

  847. she had to like open and then only can.

  848. Wash his feet. But it was a good laugh. Lah.

  849. Jesus honored his body, the Temple of the Holy Spirit,

  850. his literal body. Guys, are we honoring our body? Are

  851. we sleeping enough? Are we getting enough? Are we feeding

  852. ourselves with nourishing food? Or are we junking? Jesus also

  853. honored the church, the temple right and you know this,

  854. But above all, Jesus honored God's mission above personal comfort.

  855. This is the greatest honor.

  856. And that's why I land back that honor is obedience.

  857. It comes back to that, do would you obey what

  858. God has commanded? Everything that I listened from you is

  859. from the world of God. Yeah, would you choose to obey?

  860. Because He's there already? Just one more, two more thoughts.

  861. I want to say this, honor is a choice. No

  862. one can force you. I can force you to honor,

  863. but he has to come deep within from a conviction.

  864. You can you know, you.

  865. Can pretend to honor, you know what I mean. You

  866. can put on it like a fixed mole, one that

  867. doesn't reach the eye and people know it. No, do

  868. you know? Do you know that we are made in

  869. such a way, We're so intuitive that we know whether

  870. an honor is genuine or not. You know what nobody

  871. can teach you is an internal system within us. But

  872. do you know that honor is a choice? And finally

  873. this to honor is to obey the Lord? And I

  874. pray that as we think about this message today, how

  875. would you choose to honor the Lord? How would you

  876. choose to honor the people around you?

  877. Amen?

  878. We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more
