We hope this message will light up your day.

Right. The title for today is Disciples That Honor, and

we want to unpack what that really means as well.

What is honor in God's side and what is honor

in the eyes of the church?

Right? As Christians? How do we honor? Okay?

I'm gonna ask a series of questions and I need

your participation. Okay, So everyone, can you lift up your

right hand?

Okay? Some of you not.

She wishes your right hand. Our right hand means honor, okay,

left hand? Lift up your left hand. Left hand means dishonor?

Got it? Okay? What is right hand?

Honor? Left hand?

So let's go to the first thought that I have.

Okay when you read this, treating family members as interruptions

or instead of priorities.

Okay, lift up your hands, honor, this honor? Yeah, I

see some right hand. Now what's this right hand or

left hand? You don't know already? Right hand is honor?

Is this honor? Is this honor?

Or?

This honor? You're not sure? Do you do?

You do you treat your family members as interruptions?

Okay, yeah, this is how we're gonna go.

Okay, so this one clearly is this.

Honor, all right?

It is an application of the word honor. All right, Okay,

let's go to the next one. Choosing to address conflicts

privately and respectfully.

What do you think honor honor? What is the opposite

of this? Tell me.

What could be the opposite of this statement? Publicly, yeah, exactly?

Posting on social media about the conflict or the dislike

that you have of another person. That is dishonor. Okay, okay,

let's go on to the next one, talking back sharply,

rolling ice, or responding with sarcasm to parents or authority figures.

Let me see your hands, left hand or right hand,

a dishonor. All the young people's like, ah, that's me correct, No,

young people, I know I've been there before, rolling ice,

This is for parents yelling at or belittling children instead

of correcting with dignity. What's this, hey, honor? I see

you're raising your right hand so it looks like our teens,

they say, Okay, come on, bring it on, parents.

Okay, okay, this one speaking of your spouse with respect

publicly and privately?

What is this honor?

Or?

This honor?

Honor right right hand publicly and privately? Okay, can spouses?

Can you please learn this because I've seen so many

that do not know how to respect their spouses. Okay,

let's do I have one more?

Okay, So that's there's some things to think about now.

I just want to say, first off, that honor is

not about agreeing with someone or liking someone.

Do you agree with this statement.

Yeah, okay, because sometimes we say I don't like that person,

therefore I do not honor that leader told me off,

and therefore I don't like him, and therefore I don't

honor him. Okay, So can we be very clear baseline

that honor is not about what you think of that person,

whether you like the person, you like their preferences, you

like the decision making. It's not about liking someone or

it's about you know, agreeing with them. You might have

very different ideas or political ideas about what is right,

but that does not mean you do not honor right now,

So where does honor come from? So let's think about it.

Honor then flows from recognizing these three things very important. Firstly,

what is the first one? Can you read this life?

What is the first one? God's authority? Second one, God's

image in people?

And third one do we agree with this? This is

the basis of honor.

Right. It's firstly, you gotta recognize.

Who is in charge.

That's God, right, and that's why he gave us these

commandments to live and you know, living in God's kingdom. Right,

So all of us want to be citizens of heaven?

Yes, anyone?

Yeah, we all want to be citizens of heaven. And

do you know that the way of honor is the

way in the kingdom of Heaven.

In heaven, there.

Is no disrespect, There is no oh, I think you're

better or I think you're worse, because the way of

kingdom is God sees every one of you, every single

eight billion people on earth and those who are past

the same made in God's Do you see that or not?

You look at your neighbor, this one, this one godsy

reality versus what is truth sometimes is different, but we

Do you know that God is the God of order?

There was day one, day two, day three, day fourty five,

day six of creation? Right, there was a day of order.

And God is a God of order. And that's what

it's all there in our lives. Do you want to

live in chaos instead he today everyone is like, I

do whatever I want la.

Right today, I feel.

Like I am a cat, So treat me like a

cat please.

Now, right, there's there's no everyone goes with.

Their feelings and whims and fancies now, and there is

a loss of the honor of God the order of

things in life.

At your life, would they see that you're a person

who knows how to honor? Think about it, ah, think

about your reflection of your life. If someone looks at you,

knows how to honor?

right now, there's someone sitting in front of you, and

if you're behind, you're talking to someone. Is that honor

or dishonor you can't see you on right, honor dishonor

if you're on your phone, you're like on social media.

Right now I'm calling you out, calling you out? Is

that honor or dishonor? You might think no one else sees, right,

It's okay, I have eyes, I can see. But you

know what's more important than me is the Lord. He

watches everything, you know, So sometimes we're like, don't care

that nobody sees right behind the doors in our own room,

nobody sees.

But you know, the Holy Spirit is there all the time.

So who can we lie? Honestly? Who are we lying to?

Ourselves? Are basically right? So are you a person? Who

do you honor? And how do you honor? And you

know why I want to say how do you honor?

Because it can be seen. Honor can be seen, and

so can dishonor. Okay, all right, so let's go to

the next Now, it's very interesting when I was trying

to do a word study of this word honor, and

the Hebrew word of it is called cove vote. Can

you say covote with me?

Cove vote?

Okay, it's okay, let's learn a Hebrew word. Right. Whenever

you go into your Old Testament and you see the

word covevote, it means honor. But what is very interesting

to me that the first understanding of this word is

this word glory. It's actually glory. So one is glory.

You know the word glory? And oh no, you always

hear this right, just now, at the end of the song,

we say we'll bring you glory. What does that mean?

What does that mean? Bringing praise? Bringing respect? All right,

it's okay. Wait, let me ask you another question. Is

glory and honor the same thing?

It means God's majesty.

Now, it's very important for us to understand where this

came from. And let's go to Exodus chapter thirty three.

Do you know that this is when Moses, that was

the anointed man of God, he was called to lead

the children out of Egypt. Correct you understand this? You

remember this?

so a sign of honor? Okay, I'm not gonna make

we are, all right, ex Church. When we believe in something,

we respond.

Okay, So come on, I remind so your honor can

be seen.

Right.

So when you're very quiet and all that, I can

see Okay, I can feel it because he's so quiet.

All right, But we're just saying, you know, Christians.

You're full of life, right, so you can respond to

the word of God.

Okay, let's go. So in Exosus study tree is where

Moses wanted to lead the people. God wanted Moses to

lead the people out. But the children of Israel, what

did they do? What are they very good at? Children

the world of God. Now, So because of the rebellion

of the children of Israel, God say, okay, your go

yourself to the promised Land. I don't want to go

with you anymore. And Moses says, no, Lord, he said

that God, if you do not go with me, I will.

Not go at all. How many of you? Let me

ask you another question.

If you are going to a place called the promised Land,

I don't know what your promised land looks like. It

could be another country Australia. Oh no, no, I'm not Australia. No no, no,

no no. It could be another foreign country that you

think your dreams or your dreams will come true. Right,

it could be a dream job. But if God's presence

is not there, would you still go? Opportunities open? You know,

offers are coming in to do your PhD, your master whatever.

But if you know that that is the promised land

that God said I will go, I will give you,

but he says I will not go with you, would

you still go? No?

Right? Oh, yes, you think about it. You think about

You have to think about it.

For your own answer, because you might say, but it's okay. No,

God already opened the door. God already gave the promise war.

But God says, here, because of the rebellion of the

hearts of the people. I will not go with you

because God cannot stand it when there's rebellion. Right, And

Moses says, no, Lord, I will stay in this dreary

land without going to the promise land, as long as

you are here with me. Do we have that kind

of relationship with the Lord, that says God, if you

don't go, I will not go. That relationship or that

guy very handsome, very rich, he's got it all made,

but God is not in this relationship.

Would you still say yes?

Right? And this is something that we can learn from Moses.

And therefore, so Moses is pleading with the Lord God.

I will not go if you do not go with me,

but please show me your covote. Right, So we're coming

to the word again. Coverte, please show me your cavote.

And God says, I'm just gonna go. What's the twenty one?

He says, And the Lord said, here is a place

by me, and you shall stand on the rock. So

it shall be while my glory passes by, my cavote

passes by, that I will put you in the clef

of the rock and will cover you with my hand

while I pass by.

Then I will take away.

My hand, and you shall see my back, but my

face shall not be seen. Okay, Now what does this

tell us about God's glory? Tell me what can you

read about this? From God's glory there is powerful? What else?

There is way? What else? Protection?

Yeah? Yeah, okay, God's glory is so magnificent that he

had to protect Moses because you know what God's glory

can kill. Do you know that the magnificence of God,

the holiness of God can kill unholy people like you

and me?

Do you understand this now?

So we know from this just context understanding that God's

glory is so big to be whole that even Moses

asking to see God's glory, right, it's very very bold requests.

How many of you dare to say, God, I want

to see your glory? You know many of us, you

know Christian world, We're like God, I want to hear

your voice. I want to see your glory when God

speak to you or you be trembling, okay, you'd be

so fearful in a good way. Right. So this is

the first context of the word glory. Covote Okay, covote

is what is coverte glory? Now as pasta can I

shed earlier. This is also found in our overarching vision

earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory

of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

Do you see that the mean word here is covote.

All that we do, all that we exist, is for

the covote of the Lord. Everything that we do is

for God, God's covote. Are you okay with this vision

Do you want to reflect God's glory in our lives?

We do?

So that's what it means to live a life a

disciple that learns how to covevote.

Okay, Now let's go to another word.

So, so this word covevote has two meanings too. Past

The first one we understand is glory, Yes, glory. But

the other word, Remember I was searching for the word honor,

but it's.

Also the same word. It's also covote. Now what does

covote then mean?

It means to give weight, It means to esteem, to

treat as significant.

only person because no one else sees right. Sometimes I'm

also talking to my leaders. Where are you guys?

Okay? But it's okay. We're learning from this, okay.

And one of the reason why I'm always honored and

blessed by other maybel.

Right, is because she cares.

Do you know that she does things not to be

recognized this way, but I am recognizing her this way.

To honor her. Is that she always looks out for

the speakers.

You know, She's always praying for speakers, and she's always

prayed for pastors Kenneth and Sandra. That is the way

that she has been thought to honor her leaders right.

And one of the things that I learn from other

Mayhbor is you know the you know, honor can be seen?

Did I say that ad honor can be seen? Right?

And it's an action that you do. And what she

does right.

If she knows that either me or Elope Hole is

speaking on a circuit, she will always get us a drink.

It's as simple as that. It's as simple as that.

But it's just saying that I see you and I care.

That's what honor is. You know, I see you and

I can And I realize many of us don't see.

We don't see each other. We just look at our phones.

What we see is what we see on our little

black box. But we have lost the art of honoring people,

real people around us, true or not. And so you know,

the glory of God is there. You know, you know

you cannot add to God's glory. Do you agree with this?

Can you add to God's glory or not? We cannot.

God's glory is there. It is who he is. But

we can also walk past by God every day and

not acknowledging him at all, not seeing that he is

not giving thanks to him. Right, we can pass by

God's glory and that is who we are. But to

actually stop and just acknowledge someone.

About honor and glory right now, let me show you

are able to add weight to someone.

weight to her. And so you understand now that Cavote

is firstly God's glory but cavote is also honor our

action to add weight to someone.

Thank you for Eld Mabel's life, for God, that she

honoring those around her, honoring the Church, but most importantly

honoring God. And Lord, may you honor her even as

Church. Do you know that when you lift up.

Did you realize that you have added weight to her

when you believed in that prayer?

It's very tangible, you know. Friends.

Honor is not something like oh I feel like doing it,

but it's something that is tangible is an action. Okay,

So let's read view again. What is covote coote, Let's

go to the next light. Let's go to the next light. Okay,

review again. Now, what is covote? Covote is God's glory. Okay,

He's intrinsic greatness, beauty, and majesty.

It is who God is. Who God is.

You cannot change that, right. It is whether you acknowledge

him or not. You know, eight billion people, maybe seven

billion people don't acknowledge Jesus. But that doesn't change God's glory. Amen,

it doesn't change at all. It exists with or without

a human response. Now, the other side of covote is honor.

This is us, it says, it's our response.

To God's glory. Okay.

Honor is valuing God rightly. It's submitting to him. It's

respecting his name, obeying him, treating him as waiting not casual.

Honor is human action in light of God's glory. Man,

do you agree with this?

Yeah?

So what is your action now, friends? In light of

God's glory?

Okay?

So that's something that we want to learn. Okay, do

you mind helping me bring that back the black by

think about God's glory. Yes, God's glory. You are there,

But do you know that we are a reflection of

God's glory? And how do we reflect God's glory when

we honor?

And let's say, in a praise and worship session like that,

I'm lifting out my hands. I'm singing with my loudest voice.

I'm doing all this you can see right? Can you

Can see you?

And whether someone lifting up hands or not? Or hands

in the pocket or arms crossed. When I choose to

lift up my hands because that's how the Bible teaches

us to praise God. Right, lift up your hands, clap, singing, shouting.

What I do when I do all that is I reflect.

I reflect God's glory can be seen. But whenever I

speak rudely to my parents, I don't reflect God's glory.

No longer do I reflect God's glory when I am

late always.

To my work with my group project?

Am I reflecting God's glory when I am dismissive with

the people around me.

I am not.

Showing God's glory, But when I honor, I am reflecting

God's glory. Friends, you cannot add to God's glory, but

we can reflect that you reflecting. Okay, right, let's go

to the next thought. So, principles of covote honor? Who

and how do we do it?

Okay? So let's go on.

Firstly, it's you know, Fast already said that our first

priority should always be God. Okay, it says in Psalms

twenty nine, give unto the Lord, Oh you mighty ones,

give unto the Lord what glory and strength? Give unto

the Lord the glory due to his name. Worship the

Lord in the beauty of holiness. Do you know that

worship is a form of honor to God?

Worship? How do you worship? Friends? Do you only worship

on Sunday? Do you worship every day?

One of the things I told myself when I learned

this principle. Do you know that all these things comes

from a place of conviction. You know what conviction is

is the opposite of convenience. Oh, conviction is the opposite

of convenience, because conviction sets you on this path of saying,

this is how I want to walk the path of

the Kingdom of Heaven.

And so one of the.

Things that I told myself, because we live in such

a distracted world. Right, all of you probably right now thinking, oh, oh,

when is lunch? Where is lunch? Who am I going

lunching with? Right, will live in a world of distraction.

And it's proven, okay, especially since two thousand and seven

when iPhone was invented. Okay, that put everyone's personal pocket

PC into your pocket, and therefore that's your closest friend.

Now do you know that average person touches the phone

two thy seven hundred times?

Only?

I wonder how many of us give God that kind

of attention every day? Every day we're giving our attention

to this because it's a way of life. Right, Everything

is true here, even reading the Bible is true here.

But how many of us if we say we put

God first? Laugh, if we say la, we say we

want to put God first? What are you doing that

shows God that you're honoring him?

What is your action, friends, not just lifts.

Up his yeares I sing, I honor you, I give

you my life, I surrender. But what is your action

that shows to God.

This, this one puts me first.

So one of the things I give you a practical example,

right for me, first thing in the morning. Okay, you

reach out for your phone, correct, true or not? Friends

tell me you have you don't even brush your TDA.

All of you reach for your phone first. I also say,

but I reach you out for my phone just to

charge it, and I leave it alone because I have

made a conviction in my own life that the first

thing that I want to go into my brains, through

my eyes and my.

Ears is the Word of God.

Because you see your friends, you know whatever you touch

on your phone, right, you'll be the world.

Right, you be news, you be social.

Media, you'll be what's tiktoking, trending. I don't know what

is the latest trend out there. So you feel your

mind first with all these things. And some of it

is rubbish. Can I say that it's true? Because not

everything is edifying to you if you think about it.

I only know that the true thing that edifies me

and feeds my soul every day.

Is the Word of God.

So if you notice already, then your action should show. Right.

Why do you not make.

That a stand for yourself and say, I will not

let anything come across my mind unless it's You're worth first, Lord,

Just you first. This is how I'm making it a

point to make God my priority.

Is it very practical? Can you do it? Of course? Friends?

Of course it's a choice.

The choice to honor God is is a choice.

Right.

I don't do it just because I have the title

of an elder. I can very easily go the other way.

Nobody knows it, right, nobody knows nobody. My husband don't

check on me, my kids don't check on me. It's

me and the Lord. So am I honoring him?

How am I showing honor to the Lord? Worship? How

are you worshiping the Lord? A man?

Let's go on to the next thought.

God really deserves our honor? Do you believe this?

Do you believe that God, who he is, he deserves

fully our heart, mind, soul, and strength.

Do you believe this?

It says in Romance, for of Him and true Him

and to Him are all things to whom be covote

forever a man. Again in Revelations it says you are

worthy or Lord to receive covote and honor and power,

for you created all things and by your will, They

exist and created. This is fundamental. Do you believe that

everything that you are right now is because of Him?

Do you believe this that the fact that your body

is able to wake up this morning, that there's breath

in your lungs, that your blood is circulating in your body,

then you can go to the toilet this morning.

All of this is by God's grace. And if you

can come.

To that fundamental understanding, then you can't help.

But say, thank you Lord. My flash is.

Working today, Thank you Lord. I'm feeling hungry. It means

you know that feeling hungry is a good thing, you know.

Do you know that you can lift up your hands,

you can walk? This is all God? And so what

is our response in honor of God?

Who he is?

Do you know? Basically? God's glory is who he is.

Honor is our response to him.

That's it?

What how are we responding to the God who made

the whole earth everything in your Do you know that

everything in your life is touched by the Lord?

It came from the Lord?

Your business, your work, your promotion, your titles, your studies,

everything is from the Lord. So why do we behave

as though God is not in all of these things.

Many of us go through our life thinking that, oh God,

you are you are limited to Sunday worship. Two ours

tend the t to top the d that's it, that's

all our worship. But do you know everything that you

do is a chance to reflect God's glory. Everything that

you do is a chance to show God and the

world who.

You belong to.

Who are you reflecting? When people look at you, who

do they see? Do they see your personality? Oh no,

I cannot you know, I can't.

Be early on.

I'm always later. I'm a night bird. Thatfore I cannot

wake up early. But do you know that all those

things are excuses, right, They're just excuses that we created

and we validated and say, okay, friends, you know, validate

me because it's so hard. But how who are we reflecting?

Let's go on to the next thought. Now, the thing

is right, God is so he's so favorable to us.

He's not saying, okay, just learn how to show me glory.

But do you know that this word honor comes with

a promise? And this is taken from First Samuel, chapter two,

verse thirty says, but now the Lord says, far be

it from me for those who honor Okay, let's read

this together, lah, so that you put it into your spirit. Okay,

three two one. But now the Lord says, far be

it from me. For those who honor me, I will honor,

and those who despise me shall be lightly esteemed. Heymen,

God says, I will take you on a bad friends,

you learn how to honor me.

You wait and see how I will honor you back.

Do you know God is just amazing, You know, he's

just so great and magnificent. A God who is so

magnificent is saying I will honor you back. And do

you think God will lie?

No way.

All of us who have walked with the Lord have

experienced this first hand that when we choose God, God

chooses us.

Amen. He's just so faithful in that way. It's a promise,

you know. Now let's go. Let's go on to now.

Remember in Exodus.

The littery earlier, the glory of the Law could not

be seen because it was too magnificent, it was too powerful.

But you see, the thing is right, our God. It's

not someone who's just high and lofty up there in

heavens who cannot be rich.

Hello, Hello, Lou Lou, Lou Lou, God, can you hear me?

Me me? God is not some three billion light years

away from us. God wants to come near to us.

And that's why he says, Yes, you cannot see my

glory as I am, but I'm going to send you

my son, Jesus Christ, because he is the embodiment of

the glory of God. God wants to bring his glory

near to us. You know, friends, because you see, he says,

and the word became flash, and don't among and we

beheld his glory.

The glory is.

The only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Who are we talking about here, Jesus? This is Jesus.

He is the one who became flash so that the

glory of the Lord will.

Be revealed to us. Amen, are you thankful?

One of the greatest applications.

Of honor is obedience. Agree.

It doesn't matter what you say, it doesn't matter what

you feel, but it's whether you obey or not. And

one of the greatest things you know in the first

commandment is you should have no other gods before me.

How many of us have other gods in our lives.

So we talk about honoring the Lord, talking about about

putting him as first, then, is really about saying no

other God's Lord. Everything that I do now will come

through you, will be brought before you and will get

your okay first, your stem of approval before I proceed.

That is how we honor God. Okay, now who do

we honor? Let's go on.

Let's go on now the first part and I'm just

gonna go through this quickly.

You see, remember I said that honor.

Flows from God's authority, right, and he also flows from

God's order. And you know that there's a reason why

we have parents, because parents are the first stage of life.

In which we learn how to honor.

If we don't know how to honor our parents, let's

not even talk about honoring God.

Parents. You can see, right God, you can see or

not cannot.

So God, in his wisdom put parents in the place

Come on, if you want to be competitive in anything

in life, be competitive in showing honor.

WHOA? Can you imagine the kind of family we will

live in if all of.

to cross. I'm literally gonna be the one on the sacrifice.

Let's go to the final slight. Now, why do we

want to honor? Is if we call ourselves disciples of

Jesus and you want to follow his way. Jesus honored

more than anyone else on earth, honored. Jesus honored the Father,

even though he's God. He honored the scriptures. Do you

know the word of God? Can I encourage you to

honor the word of God? How can you honor? Take notes,

That's how you honor God. That's how you show him glory.

Is the word of God at the age of your

mouth or not in your hearts, principles that you live by.

Jesus honored people in society, dishonored right, the outcast, the women,

the children. Jesus honored leaders and structures. Do you know

that he says, give to Caesar what he sees us?

He didn't say, no, don't give to Caesar. Give to Caesar.

What it sees is give to God.

What is God's He honored parents, family, He honored his disciples.

What is the greatest act that Jesus did for his disciples?

He washed their feet. He washed their feet. Are you

one can force you. I can force you to honor,
