  1. You're listening to a message to go from axt church.

  2. We hope this message will light.

  3. Up your day fasting and praying at the same time,

  4. believing that this is the time in the year that

  5. we set apart together to seek the Lord, to pray

  6. too fast, and to believe God to bring us to

  7. another level of growth.

  8. Amen. Amen.

  9. So if we look at the Bible all the way

  10. from the Old Testament, you will see that even Israel

  11. was asked too fast, Okay, okay, so that one hopefully

  12. today I have time. There are some parts of the

  13. message which I keep reminding myself, don't talk so much joy,

  14. you know, because sometimes the Holy spit just need to move.

  15. God just need a bit of time to minister, and

  16. I don't want to hinder that. So let's see how

  17. the Holy Spirit will lead us even this morning. But

  18. in the Old Testament there is this day. They call

  19. it the day of Atonement, all right, So it's like

  20. a very sacred day and the whole nation will fast, okay,

  21. when the high priests goes into the holiest place to

  22. do and perform the purification process.

  23. So back in the Old Testament, our the people of.

  24. God already faster and I think when we read the Bible,

  25. we will know King David faster, right, Elijah faster, Queen

  26. Esther faster, So we all know, and many kings even

  27. let the people of issue to fast. Now in a

  28. New Testament, if you go to the Book of Eggs,

  29. you will see even Christians, the believers coming.

  30. Together and they pray.

  31. They fast for different needs, especially when they want to

  32. send forth apostles, they want to appoint elders, they also

  33. fast and pray. Okay, so let's today what I think.

  34. I would just put it in three points. Mainly, I

  35. think it's good now that we're at the start of

  36. our U turn all right, at the start of our

  37. twenty one day prayer and fast.

  38. Let's have the.

  39. Right attitude as well to make sure. And how many

  40. were at.

  41. Homes the last homes?

  42. Yes?

  43. And what was the topic about fasting and prayer? Correct?

  44. And I like it when they put a.

  45. List of things what to avoid member or not, then

  46. your home leader will probably ask that question or your

  47. facilitators say, what are you know some of the things

  48. that maybe you have experienced before that you did the

  49. same mistake. So I'm one I was fastilitating they know

  50. I yes, and then I said, yeah, Actually I made

  51. all the music before, never plan rush into fasting then,

  52. never set a part time to pray every Bible all

  53. our lives. When we were starting the fast things, we

  54. were campus students. We made all those mistics before. And

  55. that's why we can list down what are some of

  56. the things to avoid, isn't it okay? So let's set

  57. our hearts and our minds right as well even as

  58. we approach even this time of fast things. So first

  59. one I put there, let's have I have my slides right. Ah, Okay,

  60. God's our rewarded. Okay, So God is our rewarder, So

  61. let's have faith to believe that God is our rewarder.

  62. I felt encouraged, But it's just me feeling encouraged when

  63. those of you who are pray yesterday fast. I can

  64. also share this verse and this word I felt because

  65. I was already preparing the message, and I felt it

  66. was a confirmation. And I believe the Lord is speaking

  67. to us right that the Lord God is a reward Okay,

  68. So we read our we also talk about in our

  69. last homes as I say, what to avoid, so rushing

  70. into fast thing without a plan. So day two today,

  71. So don't worry. I just want to encourage us. If

  72. maybe we were not at pray yesterday, we have not started.

  73. You done yet. Today is day two.

  74. It's not too late, all right, turn to your neighbor

  75. and say it's not too late.

  76. Turn to the other neighbor.

  77. You can start today, So don't worry wherever you are now,

  78. even at homes we as a homeleader, I also am

  79. aware some of my homemies are also doing this for

  80. the first time. All right, So some of you, maybe

  81. you're new to ex church and maybe this is your

  82. first time. You're joining in together for twenty one day

  83. prayer and fast. So don't worry wherever we are. We

  84. start where we are at immen.

  85. Okay.

  86. That's the important thing is to have the right mental

  87. attitude even as we start.

  88. So we need to remember that it is God's will.

  89. For us to fast. I just want to establish that,

  90. all right, God will bless us when we fast in

  91. accordance to His will.

  92. Do you believe that? Amen?

  93. We've got to believe us before we even start. You know,

  94. then why are you doing it?

  95. Okay? Okay? So how do we know that God is

  96. God's will for us to fast?

  97. So we want to look into God's word to know

  98. that it is God's will for us to fast. So

  99. it is not some we don't need some feeling or

  100. some divine revelation. But didn't tell me to fast? Okay, right,

  101. don't it because we will see from God's word. God

  102. already clearly tells us about fast thing. So the first

  103. portion of scripture that I want to bring us to

  104. is med Til chapter six.

  105. Now I have my slight and the verse.

  106. So in ex church we believe, and I believe it's

  107. to do it in ten air mind. We believe in

  108. owning our bibles, bringing our Bibles, and turning to our

  109. Bibles and reading our Bibles.

  110. So if you have a Bibles, you can wave it proudly. Okay, okay.

  111. If you don't have, you smile your neighbor.

  112. It's either you share or you can use your e Bibles.

  113. No problem, all right, okay, but you have come. Let's

  114. turn to Methil chapter six right now. Now, don't worry.

  115. Some of the verses you will turn some of it.

  116. I will provide for you so that we can follow

  117. and so that due to time we can cover what

  118. we want to cover.

  119. All right, are we good? Yeay. So now let's look

  120. at max Toil chapter six. Now, matter.

  121. Chapter six is part of the Sermon of the Mound,

  122. when Jesus was preaching a long series of sermons. All right, okay,

  123. so this is a portion. So we're going to look

  124. at verse sixteen to eighteen, are we there?

  125. Yeah? All right? So in extras you're allowed to.

  126. Make noise one, all right, and you're not too smile

  127. and ah, okay, yes, let's read verse sixteen.

  128. All right.

  129. So, and I'm reading from the New Living transtation. Okay,

  130. so but if any other version, I'll mention to you.

  131. So when Jesus say, Jesus said, and when you fast,

  132. don't make it obvious, as the hypocrites do, for they

  133. try to look miserable and diceiviled so people will admire

  134. them for their fast. See, I tell you the truth

  135. that it's the only reward they will ever get verse seventeen.

  136. But when you fast, what did you say? From your

  137. hair and wash your face? Then no one will notice

  138. that you're fasting except your father, who knows that you

  139. do in what you do in private, and your father church.

  140. This is what I want you to focus on, whatever

  141. version that you're reading your father, who sees everything, will

  142. not do anything for you. Did the Bible say that?

  143. Did Jesus say, I will not bother about you? I

  144. don't care. No, Jesus said, your father, who sees it

  145. everything will reward you.

  146. So do you believe now that God what reward you?

  147. Yes?

  148. So this isn't someone of the mouth Jesus was peaching. Now.

  149. Earlier on in the chapter, Jesus was talking about praying

  150. as well, and he was telling them the right way

  151. to pray and having the right motives. Okay, So then

  152. later on in the chapter he's talking about fast thing.

  153. So when Jesus said that if and when you.

  154. Fast, okay, you're heavening father who sees it, and when

  155. you do it in the right way, God will reward you, immen,

  156. does it also mean that if we fail too fast,

  157. if we don't, we're also robbing ourselves of a reward.

  158. Do you know that because we didn't do it? Because

  159. God said, when you do it, God will reward immen.

  160. In other words, when you don't do it, there's no

  161. reward life.

  162. Okay, hallelujah.

  163. Now Hebrews eleven, chapter eleven, verse six. Okay, And this

  164. is the verse that also, I believe it's for all

  165. of us and for myself as well. What did the

  166. writer of Hebrews say? It is impossible to please God

  167. without faith. So let's have faith to believe believe that

  168. God is a rewarded imen. Anyone who wants to come

  169. to him with God must firstly believe that God exists

  170. and that He rewards those who sincerely seek him. So

  171. we must approach God on the basis of it. So

  172. as we start our u turn church. Why am I

  173. saying all this? It's so important? How are we starting?

  174. Do we even believe that God is our reward imen?

  175. Okay?

  176. So, first day, believe that God exists, and secondly, He

  177. is a rewarder of those who diligionally say him. But

  178. of course there's conditioner. We need to seek God diligionly.

  179. God will because that's guaranteed in his words.

  180. Amen. Amen.

  181. So I believe all my heart if we made up

  182. our minds to seek God diligionly in fasting and prayer

  183. during this youth turn, God will reward us.

  184. Amen. Amen.

  185. So that's the first one, all right. So we come

  186. approach fasting and praying knowing that God is our reward.

  187. Hallelujah.

  188. Now we also want to see that praying and fast

  189. thing always come together one. Okay, it comes hand in hand,

  190. and fast thing is a key to effective prayer. Now

  191. why do I say that? So in the same chapter

  192. that we read just now in mettew six. Now I

  193. want us to go turn to the earlier versus in

  194. verse five and six. So stay there in metteal six,

  195. verse five and six.

  196. Okay, are we there?

  197. Yeah?

  198. All right?

  199. Now I want us to pay attention whichever translation that

  200. you're reading from verse five? What did Jesus say when

  201. you pray, don't be like the hippo quids who love

  202. to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues

  203. where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth.

  204. That's all the reward they will ever get. Sounds familiar, okay.

  205. Verse six. And but when you pray, go away by yourself,

  206. shut the door behind you, and pray to your father

  207. and have in private then your father same thing.

  208. We beat it.

  209. Who sees everything? Will we want you? But remember this

  210. is verse five and six. So Jesus talk about prayer first.

  211. Later on he talked about fasting. But do you see

  212. the button same beton. Jesus said, when you pray, go

  213. to the da da, and when you pray the da da

  214. correct same thing. When you fast, don't do this he

  215. started in the negative. And then but when you fast,

  216. what he wants us to do, you fast this way instate,

  217. and then the heavenly Father who sees it will we

  218. want you so.

  219. The same way.

  220. That we pray should be the same way that we fast.

  221. But even for me, it's true. For me, I'm talking

  222. to myself that when we talk about prayer, we talk about, you.

  223. Know, prayer.

  224. We can accept that prayer is like a normal thing

  225. in a Christian life, isn't it? But fasting normally, yes,

  226. some of us do. And let to encourage us to

  227. do it. We will do it together until your one

  228. day praying fast. But when when God you feel led

  229. to fast, you should as well, because it sounds the same.

  230. God put it the same level. Understand prayer and fast.

  231. It comes hand in hand.

  232. Amen. Amen.

  233. And you notice one more thing in the bettern than not.

  234. Did Jesus say, if you pray, if you pray by

  235. this English line is talking about English line translation.

  236. You'll talk about that other time.

  237. But Jesus said when you pray, ah okay, and when

  238. you talk about fast thing, did you just said, if

  239. you fast, please fast?

  240. Don't fast like that?

  241. If you fast fast like that sounds like an option gun.

  242. If if you do it, then do like that? No,

  243. don't do then don't do that?

  244. That correct? But what did you just say when you fast?

  245. What does it imply you should do it?

  246. Like a yeah? The most expected exactly? Okay, So we

  247. all know we've got your brains, and it's like almost

  248. Jesus trying and say that I'm not saying telling you,

  249. but I'm telling you like ah, okay, when you pray

  250. and when you fast?

  251. Amen. Amen.

  252. So we can see a close parallel between what Jesus

  253. talks about praying and what he talks about fast thing.

  254. And Jesus didn't say if you just said when? So

  255. God expects us to fast just like he expects us

  256. to pray. Amen.

  257. Amen. All right.

  258. So that's the second one, now the last one which

  259. I will spend the most of my time in.

  260. Okay.

  261. Now, I really believe that fast thing is I won't

  262. say the only way, but one of God's way. And

  263. we can see in God's word for us to humble ourselves.

  264. Amen. Now, why is humbling ourselves so important? Now?

  265. So this whole you turn prayer and fast. What do

  266. you think is the main thing that we're actually doing.

  267. It's fasting the main thing that you want to achieve.

  268. It's a way of getting there. But I really believe

  269. it's a time of humbling ourselves even doing this time.

  270. Right, you seek the Lord.

  271. The only way to seek God and to come before

  272. Him in his presence if you want to God, it's

  273. more like I want more of God. Means have to

  274. be less of us, isn't it. Yes, So it's the

  275. humbling of ourselves even doing this time. So even as

  276. we go into U turn, I really believe at the

  277. end of the day, we need to all remember that

  278. we are humbling ourselves before God even during this time.

  279. Amen.

  280. And fast thing is a very It's a good way

  281. for us to humble ourselves. Why because we got to

  282. deal with the pride issue in our lives right, Yes,

  283. And anything that can get that right away, it's a

  284. good thing for us. So fast thing is one way

  285. that we can do it. Now, let's look at James

  286. chapter four, verse ten, and what did James said? He

  287. said in verse ten humble yourselves before the Lord. Now,

  288. as we are reading the scripture, I want us to

  289. loose as some patterns so by some of the different

  290. authors of the different books of the Bible. They didn't discuss,

  291. but it seems to have a theme. Humble yourselves before

  292. the law, and what will happen? He will lift you

  293. up in honor. I praise God. God is a good

  294. God and he always come like we miss us. Do

  295. you know that this is going to happen? When you

  296. do this, God is going to be war you. He

  297. will lift you up. It's not some ify like maybe aha,

  298. it may be like if I feel like it, I will. No.

  299. God is so clear he will lift you up in honor. Amen.

  300. So, But James said, humble yourself, humble who God humble us?

  301. But sometimes we have this picture of mentality.

  302. Gun, I also have this this No God, you humble

  303. mean a humble mean a Lord, humble me?

  304. And we pray God humble me.

  305. But what did God say? God say, humble yourself?

  306. Yes, so you we got to do it. Who gotta

  307. do it? We gotta do it. Tell your neighbor, I

  308. gotta do it.

  309. Tell your other neighbor, you gotta do it le Louiah, Jesus. Okay,

  310. we got to do it. It's not God's job. So we

  311. push the responsible right to God, isn't it? Ah?

  312. No, very very way. Where is we were?

  313. Just?

  314. Oh God, you humble Mina.

  315. Why you know?

  316. Humble me? God much his problem? Right, God said, it

  317. is our problem. We have to humble ourselves. Amen.

  318. Now let's do another verse in Peter. Okay, first Peter

  319. chapter five. Okay, so first Peter chapter five, and I

  320. have the verse, and you feel free to turn to

  321. your Bibles.

  322. Chapter five.

  323. Now I will skip a little bit and I read

  324. part of verse five. It says Peter said, and all

  325. of you dress yourselves in humility as you relate to

  326. one another, for God opposes the proud but gives grace

  327. to the humble.

  328. Verse six.

  329. Again, so humble yourselves under the mighty.

  330. Power of God.

  331. And at the right time it's much they copy each

  332. other gun and at the right.

  333. Time, who will leave who up?

  334. He will be Lieve you are in honor same saying

  335. the same thing, written by different authors at different times.

  336. I believe I'm not a super expert, but I know

  337. Peter and James are different people. Okay, So humble yourselves

  338. under the mighty power of God.

  339. Amen, hallelujah.

  340. My prayer is that during this time I pray God,

  341. I want to humble myself, but not pray to God.

  342. No, it's we have to humble ourselves. Amen. Amen. At

  343. the right time, there's the right time, God will lift

  344. us up. Imen.

  345. Not at my time, but at right time God's right time,

  346. he will lift us up in honor. So if you're

  347. coming to God in prayer with our pride, it's almost

  348. God will resist us.

  349. You know that God opposes us.

  350. But in other words, so in other words, we cannot

  351. It's almost like we can't get close to God if

  352. we choose to live in our pride. All right, Okay,

  353. there is no access to God. We have to humble

  354. ourselves when we come before God.

  355. Amen.

  356. So anything that enables us to humble ourselves is a

  357. priceless blessing.

  358. So we shouldn't shut it away.

  359. So one of the things that in the Bible, it

  360. shows us a way to humble ourselves, and that is

  361. by fasting.

  362. Immen. Okay.

  363. So now, so we humble ourselves with fasting, and I

  364. want us to look at So how does the Bible

  365. shows us that fasting is a way to humble ourselves.

  366. First one I want to look at is Psalm thirty five,

  367. and I want all of us to turn to Psalms

  368. right now, and later on if again, I say, if

  369. I have time, we will go into another sum. But

  370. stay in Psalms for a while.

  371. Okay.

  372. So Psalm thirty five, verse thirteen, and this is a

  373. sum written by David. All right, Okay, So let's turn

  374. to Psalm thirty five, verse thirteen. And what did David

  375. say in this sum? Now you can read it when

  376. you go back, and you can read it, but there's

  377. one particular verse that says here in verse thirteen. Yet

  378. when they were ill, David has a context. He's talking

  379. about his uh, he grew for them, his enemies and all.

  380. But what did David say in this line? He said,

  381. I deny myself. This is in a New Living Translation,

  382. by fasting for them, but my prayers written unanswered. So

  383. don't worry about the context of this sum. But what

  384. I wanted to point out is that David said he

  385. denied himself to fasting. All right, Okay, Now in the

  386. New King James is written David. The version says I

  387. humbled myself with fast thing. So to humble yourself means

  388. to deny yourself. Okay, to deny yourself, to humble yourself,

  389. and the true meaning of the myself in the translation

  390. in Hebrew, actually means my soul. Okay.

  391. So David is.

  392. Saying that I'm humbling, I am denying my soul with fasting.

  393. Now let me just explain, and I and Pastor Can

  394. also alluded to this yesterday, I was soul is made

  395. up of three parts, right, and our soul is that

  396. part of us is the arrogant part of us, it's

  397. the self assertive part of us, and it's the egoistic

  398. part of us.

  399. Okay.

  400. So it's made up of our intellect, our emotions, and

  401. our will. So it is expressed in what usually when

  402. we say, this is what I think, I think, the

  403. da da da is how I feel, the da da da,

  404. this is what I want da da. It's all part

  405. and part of our will. So when sorry our soul.

  406. So when David, I'm trying to bring us to the

  407. world of God. When David said I humbled myself, I

  408. denied myself to fasting, I'm denying this sole part of myself,

  409. which is I'm putting in subjection to God what I think,

  410. how I feel, and what I want in subjection to

  411. God's will and what God wants.

  412. Amen. Amen.

  413. So that is what we do. That's the whole meaning

  414. of fast thing. Actually, so when we fast, we are

  415. denying our souls. We are saying to our soul, our mind,

  416. our will, our emotions, say, not what you want, not

  417. what you feel, not what you think, telling yourself. So

  418. it's you and yourself dilogue like your soul, but it's

  419. what God wants.

  420. Imen.

  421. So we are aligning ourselves. That's why that's the power

  422. of fasting. We are denying and we are putting ours

  423. humbling our soul in subjection to God. So when we

  424. humble our soul, essentially say again, we're telling our mind,

  425. our intellect, We're telling our emotions, we're telling our will.

  426. It's not what we think that's the most important, but

  427. what we feel that's most important. Not what we want

  428. that's most important, but what God says in his word, immen,

  429. and what his will that really matters.

  430. And that's what our purpose is.

  431. So if we don't deal with our soul, which is

  432. the intellect, the emotions, and the will, we cannot align ourselves.

  433. To God's will? Do you know that?

  434. And that's why we struggle so much, because your will,

  435. your intellect, your emotions is going to always be against

  436. what God wants on all right. So one way to

  437. deal with it is to humble ourselves to fasting.

  438. Okay.

  439. And I really believe that David was a great man

  440. of God because he understood this. And if you see

  441. in his palms, then he writes right, he has the

  442. fasting part.

  443. You can see it. He fasted. Why he didn't?

  444. He knows how to deny his soul in order to

  445. subject it to God. And he wasn't a perfect man,

  446. do you know that? He was a man just like

  447. you and I. And he made a lot of mistakes too,

  448. and not proud of you know what I mean.

  449. But we can see how he.

  450. Every time he will humble himself before God and align

  451. back again to God. Amen, and come back again to God,

  452. humble himself. Hallelujah. Now, So remember I mentioned earlier, and

  453. I'm going faster. Okay.

  454. It's in the in the in fact, in the Old Testament.

  455. I just want to show us that back in those times,

  456. that it was already a picture of what it means

  457. to humble ourselves.

  458. Okay, okay.

  459. So there is this day called the day of Atonement,

  460. and I believe until today the Jews.

  461. Are still observing it. They call it something all right.

  462. So in the Jewish calendar, it's one of the most

  463. sacred day and they know to them this day they

  464. will not do any work, and they will fast from

  465. one whole day twenty more than twenty four hours. Okay, okay,

  466. So this is the day if we go back to

  467. the Vetica's chapter sixteen in a while, which I will

  468. just quickly show us that to show us what it

  469. means to humble ourselves.

  470. Okay.

  471. So that is the day that God ordained the sacrifice

  472. to be made for the atonement of issue sines.

  473. Okay.

  474. So everything like one, and it's once a year event.

  475. So once year this is his sacred day where the

  476. high priests will go into the Holy Place to make

  477. that sacrifice and that atonement for the sins of the

  478. entire nation. So while the high priest is doing that,

  479. no one is allowed in the Tabernaca and the temple.

  480. But what do the people do? Well, we think for

  481. the high peaces to come out.

  482. They're supposed to fast All right, there are, and I'll

  483. show you in the Bible.

  484. What does it mean? Now? Why I'm showing all this

  485. is because I want us to know.

  486. That when the priests did that, when he performed his duty,

  487. do you know that the duty was performed but every

  488. he did it alone, but it was for the benefit

  489. of the entire nation. So the issue lines will benefit

  490. from that sacrifice made and that atonement made, but they

  491. were required one response. The whole nation have to fast

  492. and not work on that one day. So I believe

  493. there's a pattern for us to see today as we

  494. want to, which I will bring us to the scripture

  495. we want to benefit now today, do we need a

  496. high priest to go and burn sacrifice for you and

  497. to because of that that only your sins is forgiven?

  498. Know why who is the high priest? Jesus? So we

  499. had Jesus as our high priest that came to sacrifice

  500. his own life, not the lamb, not the ram, not

  501. the bull, right his.

  502. Own life on the cross.

  503. So he took that role as the high priest, one

  504. cent for all he did it. So we don't need

  505. to go to this ritual yearly so that our sins

  506. are forgive us, so one cent for all God forgave us. Amen.

  507. But I believe the same principle applies to fully benefit

  508. from this act of atonement that was done by Jesus.

  509. We got to have a response just by the people

  510. of God in those days they needed to have a response. Okay,

  511. So let's turn, which I will show you here in Leveticus,

  512. chapter sixteen. Now I'm going to read from New King

  513. James just for this few verses. So from chapter sixteen,

  514. verse twenty nine to thirty one. Try to stay with me, okay, okay.

  515. So this in verse.

  516. Twenty nine says, this shall be.

  517. A statute for you forever, forever for you in the

  518. seventh month, on the ten day of the month, you

  519. shall just bear in mind some of the words use

  520. afflick your souls, which I will explain, so you do

  521. not work at all. I remember on the day of Atonement,

  522. the israel lights are supposed to afflict their souls. Okay,

  523. they do not work, whether a native of your country

  524. or a stranger who dwells among you verse thirty. For

  525. on that day the priests shall make a perman for

  526. you to cleanse you, that you may be clean from

  527. all your sins before the Lord.

  528. Verse thirty one.

  529. It is a sabbath, a solemn rest for you, and

  530. you shall repeat it a flick your souls. It is

  531. a statute forever. In another translation, it says you must

  532. deny yourselves. Same thing we talk about is the humble yourself.

  533. So you're talking about you must humble yourselves on their days.

  534. So God requires one requirement. Yes, God will forgive your sins.

  535. But God say one thing to the people of Issue.

  536. You must humble yourself. You must deny yourselves, and you

  537. must afflict your souls. Okay, So again what does this mean?

  538. And the people of God at that time they know

  539. what it means. So what it means to deny yourself

  540. and your soul is too fast. So they fast for

  541. morning all the way tonight, and that day they complete,

  542. they rest from their work so that they can dedicate

  543. that day as a.

  544. Sacred day unto the Lord.

  545. So I just want to show us that in the

  546. biblical context fast thing.

  547. Okay, it's always there.

  548. When it talks a wain, we talk about humbling ourselves.

  549. So today, as I mentioned, just say the people of

  550. God to be fully cleansed from all our sins. We

  551. don't have to go through the purification process again. Right,

  552. But if we were to benefit from this perfect section

  553. with fights of Jesus on the cross, I believe you

  554. and I need to respond to me. That's a condition,

  555. and that condition is to what is to humble, to deny,

  556. to afflict our souls, to fasting. And they understood that

  557. fast thing means they extain from food for a certain

  558. part of the time.

  559. Amen of the day. Amen. So we're talking about humble ourselves.

  560. So now I want to look at the humbling part again.

  561. And we know that fasting is a way to humble ourselves.

  562. So what happens when we take the first step to

  563. humble ourselves? Now in Second Chronicles, chapter seven, verse fourteen,

  564. and this one, I think some of us we can

  565. memorize this verse, But where do we remember where it

  566. came from?

  567. Is another thing. So it says in verse fourteen.

  568. Then if my people who are called by my name

  569. will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and

  570. turn from their wicked ways, don't you think that sounds

  571. like what we want to do right now? Until your

  572. one day prayer and fast, that's all we want to do.

  573. Isn't it God. We want to seek you, we want

  574. to pray, we want to humble ourselves to fast thing.

  575. You want to turn from our wicked ways. But what

  576. did God say? God?

  577. Oh again, he never stopped their full stop. What did

  578. he say? I will hear from.

  579. Heaven, Amen, and I will forgive their sins and I

  580. will restore their land.

  581. This is a famous verse we can all memorize. Now.

  582. This came from a time when King Solomon finished building

  583. the Temple of God. All right, he built away, so

  584. you read the chapters before. He built a beautiful temple,

  585. and that was like one of the prime time in Israel. Right,

  586. they will have at peace and the beautiful temple all built.

  587. And he dedicated the temple to God. And Solomon prayed

  588. a long but very powerful prayer. And after that God

  589. spoke to Solomon in the night. All right, And this

  590. is one of the things that God to Solomon. All right, Okay,

  591. So in chapter seven God spoke to Solomon, and after

  592. Solomon prayed, so Holomon declined a dedication and pray in

  593. front of the entire assembly of Israel.

  594. So church, ten am church, look at the verse again.

  595. My question to myself and to all of us this morning,

  596. or I believe God is also asking us.

  597. Do we want the Lord to hear from heaven? So?

  598. Do we want our prayers answered?

  599. Church?

  600. Amen? Do we want to see our love one safe, held,

  601. set free? Amen?

  602. Do we want our sins forgiven, wiped out, covered eras

  603. not countered and.

  604. Ify time I'll go to that. Do we want to

  605. see our land healed and restore?

  606. Amen? Now, if you look at your U turn card

  607. for the twenty one days, now, remember in homes we

  608. also say what to avoid avoid just praying for yourself,

  609. isn't it?

  610. I like that?

  611. Okay, Sometimes you're so into ourselves and my family and

  612. me and my family, right, it's good to pray for

  613. their other things. So when you follow the uturn card,

  614. you kind of remember to pray their other needs and

  615. other plants, right, other, and pray for our nation and all.

  616. But when we pray, do we want to see our

  617. land healed and restore? Amen?

  618. Take a moment right now, look at the verse again,

  619. and actually you can leave it on that slight second

  620. chronicle seven fourteen. Then if my people who are called

  621. by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek

  622. my face, and turn from their wicked ways. I will

  623. hear from heaven. I will forgive their sins. I will

  624. restore their land. It's almost like everything that you ever

  625. need is promise in diversity.

  626. Amen, So take a moment and think about it.

  627. Okay. The beginning of this verse, who again is God

  628. speaking to if my people? So the question here is

  629. not whether God hears from heaven? So it's not said, God,

  630. will you hear me from heaven?

  631. God? Will you forgive my sin?

  632. God?

  633. Will you heal my land? Lord? Will you bless them? Am? Lord?

  634. Will you bless a am?

  635. God?

  636. Will you bring? Or more people? Will you? Can we?

  637. Lord? You know?

  638. Can we see more? People?

  639. Say?

  640. I don't think that's the God's problem?

  641. Might not? The question here is not whether God will.

  642. God already said he will. It's whether the God's people

  643. is doing what you're supposed to do.

  644. And in God's people in the house, first of all,

  645. we want to be.

  646. God's people right now and God's And God said, if

  647. my people so church, what is the first step? And

  648. what did God say, if my people will? He didn't

  649. say very difficult things are like you'll go, ye appreciate,

  650. go thro far far away, you know the kind of

  651. thing or all It says in this verse, if my

  652. people will humble themselves, joy, I'm talking to myself. God's

  653. talking to me. If you will humble yourself, Amen, ex church,

  654. If we will humble ourselves, ten am, if we will

  655. humble ourselves.

  656. And I really believe that is the first step. Amen.

  657. Now we can go into a lot of other steps,

  658. but just today, I really believe God is bringing us

  659. back again to focus on the first step. If my people, Amen,

  660. don't worry about God's part, because I think you can

  661. see from Old Testament to New Testament, God never's full

  662. stop halfway one.

  663. He will always promise us what he promised.

  664. And it's being echoed by different writers of the Bible,

  665. the books of the Bible again and again like a

  666. we are deaf, da, God will reward you, get you

  667. we are deaf, right, It's like that because we are

  668. dill and here right, not correct. So we're not to

  669. worry about God's part. But let's focus on our part.

  670. Amen. Amen.

  671. Now, So first thing is a way to humble ourselves,

  672. and I believe that it is the first step.

  673. But do you know that?

  674. Do you know that?

  675. Fast? First?

  676. Okay, Now, sorry, are dropping out the bomb on us?

  677. Okay?

  678. Do you know that I drop myself out? Do you

  679. know that fast thing itself doesn't mean that we're humble?

  680. So or in other words, it doesn't necessarily make us humble.

  681. So who has to humble ourselves again? We have to

  682. humble ourselves again? Now fast thing is away, but doesn't

  683. mean fast thing will make us humble automatically. All right, okay?

  684. Why why do I say that?

  685. Now? Do you know the Pharisees fast faster Pharisees to

  686. exist today?

  687. Don't know I've got.

  688. Pharisees today, But Pharaises in Jesus's time they faster, correct,

  689. And that's why Jesus always say, don't be like them.

  690. They fast, and then they show, they make a big

  691. show out of it, because in itself it doesn't mean

  692. we're humble. We humble ourselves as so right, So fast

  693. thing does not earn a bad earn us a wow,

  694. a badge like wow. Then we carry around and then

  695. I'm fasting, I'm humbled wrongly, I'm wrong, okay, okay, but

  696. it is a way for us to humble, to deny ourselves,

  697. to deny our soul. Remember the intellect the emotions.

  698. Our will and.

  699. Put it in subjection to the will of God is

  700. a tool that we use, right, but we still got

  701. to do it ourselves.

  702. The humbling part. We still have to do it ourselves.

  703. Now.

  704. I want to go into something a bit more practical then.

  705. So one practical way, I believe, a way that we

  706. can start to humble ourselves. And I believe because I

  707. do this, and I don't know, well, there may be

  708. I'm sure there are other ways in our journey with

  709. the Lord. But one simple way I think is to

  710. confess our sins to the Lord. Amen. Yeah, And this

  711. one I also praise God, and I believe it's the

  712. word for us today because I can also talk about

  713. this verse.

  714. Yesterday I pray first John one nine and what these says?

  715. John said?

  716. But if we confess our sins to who to God?

  717. He is faithful and.

  718. He's just to forgive us our sins and two consers

  719. from all. Can you see that every time you take

  720. one stepma, Goda backs you up with his promise.

  721. It's like a.

  722. Certain for sure, don't worry, I will do my part

  723. all right if but there's always a conditioner. God gives

  724. us a choice today right, if we confess our sins

  725. to him, he's faithful, he's just to forgive us our

  726. sins and the classes.

  727. Now, I wonder from when I.

  728. Was young until today, well today lesser wonder, but still wonder.

  729. Why God chose this, Why John chose this word?

  730. Just?

  731. I would say he is faithful.

  732. And merciful to forgive our sins. But John chose just

  733. the mind something for you to ask God. Okay, I'll

  734. ask God.

  735. You ask God? Okay, right know he thought about that.

  736. But but but it means that even.

  737. He is a just God, he will forgive you. Hallelujah, hallelujah.

  738. A man only just God can be merciful in the

  739. first place. Correct, So if we confess our sins to him,

  740. he's faithful and just, and he will forgive us, and

  741. he will she should cleanse us from all unrighteouses. Now,

  742. But why did I say that? One of the simple

  743. way is in confessing our sins to God? Because don't

  744. you think that it's hard to be proud when you

  745. are confessing what you are.

  746. But you're done wrong. So if you come.

  747. Before God and you it's a very automatic thing when

  748. you want to confess your sin you're already humbling yourself.

  749. I don't know how else to confess my wrong and

  750. and you say, say a husband and wife say sorry

  751. to each other. Okay, I'm just trying to imagine now,

  752. you know, dear, I know I'm sorry yesterday.

  753. You know I said this, I did this. It wasn't

  754. very nice.

  755. I was impatient, I was whatever. You already are humbling

  756. yourself when you even confess.

  757. And ask forgiveness.

  758. Isn't it same unless you're saying that, yeah, I'm sorry,

  759. not they're not sorryn in the first way you try pasala,

  760. don't want to try pass all there another round wall. Okay,

  761. but that's why I say that it is and uh,

  762. it is a very simple way to humble ourselves now

  763. and I'm going to end soon. I'm joined to a close, Okay.

  764. I don't want to take this too long. But before

  765. we close, I think a little bit of time. Let's

  766. turn your insums right some thirty two? So we were

  767. at some thirty five, just now, just a few sums

  768. before Psalms thirty two again, a sum by King David,

  769. and I and I take I take heart. Whenever I

  770. feel discouraged, I feel I did oh I made a

  771. mess again. I did a boo boo. I'll go back

  772. to this sum as well, all right, besides Psalm fifty one, okay,

  773. so Pal thirty two, I'm gonna read only the first

  774. five verses. Come, let's read now, So Kingdom, we started with, Oh,

  775. what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven? I know

  776. whether you can echo him. I echo him whose sin

  777. is put out outside. But I want to show us

  778. something here again. When it comes to when we confess

  779. unto the Lord, what does it do to us?

  780. Imen? Verse two?

  781. Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has

  782. cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in complete honesty? Wow?

  783. Verse three.

  784. When I refuse to confess my sin, my body wasted

  785. away and I grown all day long. I'm not sure

  786. whether you have experienced this before, day and night. Your

  787. hand of discipline was heavy on me. My strength evaporated

  788. like water in the summer heat. INTERVIEWE.

  789. Finally I confess all all.

  790. My sins to you, and I stopped trying to hide

  791. my guilt. I said to myself, I will confess my

  792. rebellion to the Lord.

  793. And what happened? You forgave me and my guilt is gone. Amen.

  794. We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more
