Word Faithful | Elder Rosalind

You're listening to a passage to go from acts church.

We hope this passage will light up your tea. Now,

first point that I want to give to you here

is why is the Word of God so important? It

is so central to the life of a believer. If

you call yourself a believer, that you are Christ all

over because it's unshakeable. You believe that the Word of

God is unshakable. I don't know a bit more quiet now, right,

because maybe in the first place, you don't even know

what's in the Word of God. If you don't even

know what's in the Word of God, you're like, I

don't even know whether this is going to be helpful

or what Jesus says or what he teaches. Right. So

in Matthew twenty four to twenty five, it says, heaven

and earth work, Heaven and earth will pass away, but

my words will by no means pass away. Who said this?

Who say this? It's Jesus, right, So you you see

what I mean. You're like, who say, is it a possible?

Is it?

John?

These are the words of Jesus himself. So Jesus is

declaring to all of us that he says whatever that

is in the Bible today, everything will come true. Whatever

is unshakable. The only thing that is unshakable is the

word of God. Now, let me ask you a very

real question, Yeah, real question. How many of you you

have your EPF, your savings you're working it outs? Yeah?

What if one day I tell you that all your

savings in your EPF, right is gone overnight? Everything? Do

you feel your heart drop? Because God says that everything

in this world that will be shaken, that can shaken,

will be shaken, and so we might and you know,

unwittingly or not realizing that, actually we put a lot

of our trust in the financial security of our savings,

our retirement funds. And so then the question is if

one day the entire financial system is wiped out. Hello,

everything now is financial digital? Right? All your bank account?

One day you open your ETHMA, your maybank May and

then like, oh, all your savings God zero zero zero scam.

What would you do? You're panning and you cry or

true or not, like, my entire life is wiped out

in that moment? Are you able to praise God? No? No,

let's be honest. Yeah, I think all of us were

probably panning and say, what happened. You know, why is

this government? You know we go around blaming everyone for

the failure of the financial systems. And so my question

to us is what are you putting your on? What

are you anchored on? Friends? Because I'm going to tell

you that, like I said, right, anything that can be

shaken will be shaken. I'm going to talk about your health,

your finances, your relationships in your family. And if one

day those things are shaken, will you be shaken as

well in your faith? Or will you say no, I

stand believing in God. You know that the you know

job in the Bible. He had everything right, he had

everything going. He was a rich guy. He had all

the cattles, He had a family and beautiful sons and daughters.

What more can he ask for? And one day he

was tested. Remember all these things are not permanent, you know, friends, Hello,

these are not permanent. And one day he was tested

and God said, you can touch everything he owns, accept

the man himself, right, spare him his life, but you

can even touch his health. He had boils coming out

of him. We have boils. No, you don't want it

so painful? And then what did his wife tell him?

Curse God? And daylah might as well die. Right, what

is there worth living for? And what did Job do?

What did he say? What did Job say? What did

Job say? He gives and he takes away? Blessed be

the name of the Lord? Are you blessed be? Then?

Because you know what I'm thinking? Right, he must not

be thinking about all his possessions and all that he has.

He must have been thinking about the Lord all this time.

And to say that, Wow, God, it's yours to give,

it's yours to take away. But blessed be your name,

Blessed be the name of the Lord. Wow, I am

like so inspired by this guy. And that's why God.

You know he was daring enough to put joke to

the test because he knew that this man would stand

the tests. So, friends, I'm asking you and me, will

we stand the tests? Will we stand the test of

faith when it really comes down to it? And can

I tell you that we will not stand If we

do not know this, we will not stand. We will

fall away. Right. The last point on your boat says,

you know, God's word is the only one that is

there in a changing world. We are in a changing world.

Everyone will tell you this is good, This is right,

This is wrong, right? But what does the word of

God tell you? And so if your life and your

will is built around all those things, when it's taken away,

you will crumble, your faith will crumble. So what do

we build our faith on? Amen? All? Right? Now? The

word of God is unshakeable you you gotta believe this right,

And it says that the last days will come? What

are the last days? Can you tell me? What are

the last days? Tribulation? I heard the word? What will

tribulation entail? Persecution? What does persecution look like? Hard time?

So for all of us, where persecution means alama, fucking in?

Some is so dark? Are you have to pay expensive

fucking in some? Persecution? Right? You're like, oh the rasta

or persecution means coming here at six am and it's

so dark. We have not tasted persecution, my dear friends.

The fact that we can all see here comfortably in

an acn got lighter. Wow, this is not persecution, you know,

this is privilege. And because we are so privileged, how

we don't want to come? We're like, why I come here?

It's the same same old, same old, right? What is

there for me? I heard this before? Like old roads.

Do you know when you actually go out, you know

and you see what they don't have. But I also

want to say that in my years of going out

to the mission field, right, I realize they have something

we don't have. They have grateful for what they have.

You know, they can't find contentment in their little That's

something that we all find it hard, right, we find

heart to be contented with the so much that we have.

In fact, we go around complaining why not enough? Why

not enough? Why like this? Why like that? Right? That

is a sickness of having too much. It's a sickness,

you know. And I say this quite strongly because you

know what Jesus said to his disciples. It's very hard

for rich men to enter the Kingdom of heaven. He

said that, right, you remember, it means what you gotta

be poor to enter. And I think it's true poor

in our spirit, because it says blessed is the other

poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

You see that it's all tying back, it's all related, right,

And if we don't have that poor in spirit like God,

I need you. It's not poverty in your mindset like oh,

I'm not good enough. It's not he's saying God, because

I am not good enough. Therefore you gave me everything

that I ever needed. You see that poverty of our

mindset is worth needed. And that's humility, you know. And

that's why you know why rich people had to go

to the Kingdom of heaven. They don't need God. Me, no, not.

I got my car, I got everything that money can

buy me right, I'm safe, I'm secure, and therefore you

need God. Lah. That is that that's the understanding of

why Jesus said it's very hard for rich men to

enter the kingdom because they're self sufficient. If we think

any of us, if we feel we're very self sufficient.

We have everything, we got it under control, and we

don't need God, or we have very little need of

Him in our lives. We don't mix space for God

in our lives. You see that? So yeah, this is

why the word of God now becomes truth. It shapes

our mindset about how we live now. One of the

things that I really am thankful that why we are

going through this journey of the top plus one call

values right is because I think right, it really shapes

how we think. It shapes how we make decisions. Do

you agree, Because now you're thinking about decision, right, should

I do this or not? Then bringing the first value

of man, is this the Holy Spirit leading me? Am

I thinking it's a Holy Spirit leading me to a

certain decision? Right as you're thinking about decision? Wow, is

this Christ centered or not? Is this Christ centered? This decision,

this thought, this behavior or is this me centered? When

you can put that tessa to your thoughts, to your words,

then you begin to think, oh, man, and why I

love that this? You know, the whole series is built

around you know, when we're a shit about the you know,

the the series is it's not just Christ, it's not

just Kingdom, it's not just Holy Spirit. But it's Holy Spirit.

Bil Do you see that there is a noun and

there is a verb that you actually do something that

you do So Holy Spirit? Yeah, Holy Spirit very distant, right,

but Holy Spirit. Feel there's a closeness. Christ centered means

every day we're walking away from Christ. Right, So what

How do you know what it means to be Christ

centered unless you search the scriptures and you say, this

is what Christ mindedness is. Yeah, Christ's centeredness means all right.

So let's move on to the next thought. The next thought. Now,

this is very cool though. You know, we always like

to sing the name of Jesus. In a mighty name

of Jesus, we pray and we break every chain. Right.

So God's name is so precious and so powerful. But

do you know that there is one thing that is

exalted above the name of God. Psalms one, tree eight

two says this, for you have magnified your word above

all your name. What are some of God's name? God

is powerful? God is sovereign. God is Jehovah, God is provided,

God is healer. Yes, what is above all that? The Word,

the Word of God is exalted, magnified above all of

God's say to the misa friends, what is important to

God his word? Can you? Can you see this? God

is saying, my word is so important now, and you

guys treat it like something that you buy and you

put on the shelf. You see the difference now, how

God views his word versus how we view his word.

That's an important distinction to make yea. Let's go on

did God exhalt the word is because his name is

called Jesus. Do you know that Jesus is called the

Word of God? Amen? John one fourteen says, the Word

became flesh, this is Jesus, and made his dwelling among us.

This is the word, the importance of the world of God,

the power of the Word of God. He came and

dwell within us, showing us how the world is to

be lived, how to live our lives. Jesus is a

living breeding example of what Christians should be, how Christian

should think, how Christian should speak to one another. Friends,

do you know that our words are so powerful but

we always use it to tear others down? Why do

we do that? But Jesus says, out of the spring

of your heart flows river of water. Right, it's either

bad water or good water. So I will know what's

coming out of your heart because it reflects your condition.

Whatever that you say, I'm not just listening to words anymore.

I'm listening to your intent. I'm listening to your motive.

And if you're you can say everything nice, la white,

this brother like that, always like that? When not? What

is that? It's a judgmental spirit? Right? A good test

for you, my friends, when you want to say anything,

is whatever you're saying going to build this person up

or tear this person? Now? Just have that test. If

whatever you're gonna say is going to bring this person down,

then don't say it. Deal with it with the Lord,

no serious one. Just just don't say because what good

will it do? You're just gonna bring someone down, and

you're gonna bring God's body down? Hello, if you dare

to touch God's body. But we do it, you know,

especially amongst brothers and sisters. It's terrible, but we don't

know we are hurting ourselves. Do you know that one

part of the body. That's what the Word of God says, right,

when one part is hurting. You know, if you have

a little top and you kick it against the chair

and it's bleeding, does your ear feel the pain? Your

foot feels the pain? Right? But your whole body is

in pain, tu or not? The whole body is in pain.

And that's how the church is. When one part is

in pain, we all feel that pain. Ay man, So

Jesus is the Word and he does not like us

hurting the body. Okay, so take it at that. He

is the flesh. Now let's move on. Let's move on

to the next thought. Now faithfulness. So everything that I

say right there is kingdom, mind that, there's Christ centered,

there's spirit. Feel what about this word faithful? So we

talk about the word of God ready? How important? Do

you agree? That is important? You gotta do something about

that later. But what about this word faithful? Now? Tell

me what does faithfulness mean? Come on? What are some

of the things that comes to your mind when you

think about this word faithful? Sorry? Can trust? Can trust?

says that these commandments that I give you today are

to be upon your to be upon your wife, to

be upon your tablet, to be upon your hearts. Impress

them on your children, talk about them when you sit

at home, and when you walk along the road, and

when you lie down, and when you get up. Tie

them as symbols on your hands, and bind them on

your four heads, write them on the door frames of

your houses, and on your gaze. Any of you do

that or not? Right now? No, Okay, I'm gonna ask

He says bind them on your hands, bind tie them

on your foreheads. It means all of you seeing there,

you guys, don't I don't see the Bible on your hand.

I don't see scripture on your foe head God or not,

do you think this will do for you as you

walk through your life every day? A reminder? Right, every

time you want to hit your neighbor, what does God?

God's would say? Love your enemies? Okay, every time you're

impatient with a person who cuts in front of you.

What do you do then the other cheek? Do you

see what I mean? And we have lost this visual

and it's become something like on our iPad on our

phones that is so easy to not even remember and

think about the word of God. Do you see what

it is? And that's why God's commandment because it was

so important to him, a God's word, his commandment. He says, Actually,

you should binding around yourselves. You see what I mean.

That's how important God's word is to him because he

knows that if you bind this around you. But you see,

the thing is right. You can wear a T shirt

that says Jesus saves. We have that t shir right?

Will that change your life? Will that change your life? Well?

Walking around just with tags and across change your life?

It does not. It does not because what it says

is we must be hearers and doers of the world. Okay,

I want to just say something about God's character. Finally,

when we talk about faithfulness, word faithful, this word faithfulness

means God himself is faithful. Do you know one of

what is one thing that can sum up the whole

up all of me, is the word faithful? Because faithful

is God's character. He cannot deny himself. Now what is

God faithful to you? I'll give you four quick points?

Number one, God is faithful to himself, his name, his word?

And how do I know this? In Second Timothy Too thirteen,

he says this, if we are faithless? Are the faithless

people here? Sometimes? Yeah, sometimes we lose faith? Right, But

he says he remains faithful. He cannot deny himself. You

see the things right. If God is good, he cannot

deny himself. It's who he is. If God is faithful,

he cannot deny himself. He will be faithful all the time,

not today, not when things are good, not not only

when things are good, but even when things go bad

in your life, God is faithful. He never changes. Second

thing that I want to bring to you. God is

faithful to whom his covenant and his people. Do you

see that He's not just saying I am the big

sovereign God and this is all about me. Do you

know that when God is faithful because this is correct, right,

he cannot change. He's also faithful to his promises. His

and his promises are to his people true or not.

His covenant in You Tore Me seven nine says this. Therefore,

know that the Lord your God, he is God, the

faithful God. He didn't say the loving God. Yet he

didn't say the kind God. He says the faithful. You

see this is so important how it describes God's character,

the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for three generations?

Is it a thousand generations? That means are guys our

hope for the future generation is in good hands because

God is going to be there for them. You might

not parents, You might worry about your kids, right, but

guess what, God is faithful to them as well. So

why do we worry so much? When God is going

to be faithful to them. Our young people here, I'm

looking at teens. One day you will be parents. You'll

be worried about your kids. But remember God is going

to be faithful to their generations as well, those who

love Him and keep his commandments. Amen? What else is

God faithful to? Do you know that He's faithful to

finish what he started? Isn't that good? Isn't that good news? Friends?

is a finisher. You know, only faithful people finish. Think

about it. If you're not faithful, you will not finish

that race? Right? And what does it say? It says

began a good work in you will bring it to

completion at the day of Christ. So does it mean

that God is slow? And when right now you're still

going through challenges, temptations, trials. But guess what He will complete?

God's true right, because that's how it builds you up

in your spirit, in your faith a man. Finally, what

is God's faithful to He is faithful to forgive. Hallelujah,

feel the word of God is a burden. Yeah, and

that's why we don't like the word of God because

to hold onto my unforgiveness until the person kneel down

and beg me. Then only can be forgiven. But God

would say how many times should you forgive? I don't

like that principle? God, I don't like it. But you know,

liking the word of God versus obeying the Word of

God is just two separate things. You might not like

it very much, like you think your vegetables not I

don't okay, those vegetable lovers, don't tell me. You might

not like it very much, but it's good for you.

I want you to come away from today are just

knowing that everything that God says here is good for you.

The response is not gonna be oh, I felt so good,

be a decision that you will make. And so later

decision that you will choose. Will I engage with the

Word of God. Number one, to be word faithful means

you hear the word of God. So can you give

yourself a round of clause? You're here listening to the word.

Don't tire of it. Even though you think you heard

of it a million times? Can you hear another million times?

You cannot not, Because right I realized it's not the

speaker's fault. It's my attitude. It's always my attitude towards

the Word of God. Not how great the speaker is,

not how flamboyant or charismatic he or she can't speak. No,

we are servants. But what matters. Remember the parable of

the seed and the sol The seed is just thrown.

You know what made the difference was the condition of

the soil. So it is the condition of your hearts,

and that helps me greatly, like because I'm like, oh,

I'm so stressed right trying to preach the word of

God in a good way so that you're receiving. But

God told me, hey, hello, is their hearts? So who's responsible?

You are? I am just responsible for sowing the seed

the word of God. Whether it lands on good soil

or thorny soil or hard ground, it's your responsibility. So

I love this. God's word is so powerful. For the

Word of God. Okay, let's read this together. Yeah, let's

engage with God's word three two one. For the Word

of God is living and powerful and shy than any

two aged sword, piercing even to the division of soul

and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a

discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Whoa

God's worder so powerful it will cut us. That's how

we stay away from it, because the moment we read

the Word of God, we know we have to change.

But I want change. I don't want to be the

same old rose that I was when I first received

this Bible. You see. The thing is right. I can

just wear it, you know, I can just wear the Bible.

But until one day, as I'm walking with Jesus over

the last thirty years of my life. The truth test

of whether I'm wearing the Word of God is when

you look at me right now. Can you see me

through the lens of the word. Can you see that

if I speak, it's always with grace? Can you see

that there is patience? I know my kids will say

a patience, but not yet because I blow my top

with them. They're like, what, mommy, what what's gotten into

you today? I'm sorry, sorry, Put up the word of God.

Wear it again, try again, remembering again the word of God,

so that one day when I meet with Christ, right,

he's gonna see the words of Christ written all over

my life. You see that, and well that at least

that's my desire. I don't know what you desire. I

desire that when God looks at me, he'll say, yeah,

these are the marks of Christ over your life. Some

is marks of suffering. Oh God, no, no suffering. But

maybe there are some suffering because Jesus himself, son of suffering.

We see it. Sometimes when I see that, I'm like,

this word not very comfortable. You know, suffering and you

know something, I'm in our comfortable world. It's gonna be jarring, right,

But I'm glad we sing it, we preach it, because

that's truth. Our Lord is a man who suffered for us,

for you and me. Amen. So firstly, here the word

of God. Listen to podcasts, listen to our Spotify, go

just get the word of God. And the best thing

is you read it to yourself. Amen, read it to yourself,

so that when you read it out loud, you're hearing

the word of God. It's powerful finally, to be doers

of the world. And this is from James one twenty

two to twenty three. It says, but be doers of

the word and not hearers deceiving yourself. So, friends, if

you today you hurt the word of God and you

forget everything I said, you have just deceived yourself. You have.

That's what the Word of God says. For if anyone

is a hero of the word and not a doer,

he's like a man who looks intently at his own

natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself

and goes away and at once forget what he was like.

But the one who looks into the perfect law, now
