Prayer powered. Now, if you notice all the core values

is the noun first, for example, the first one is spirit,

and then it followed by a verb like field like

when it's word, it's word, and then faithful all right,

and then now it's prayer the noun. But the verb

that is in line with it is powered. Why so

we will look at it later. Why not prayer something?

Or you know why disciples? Shep why focus? Okay? Okay,

So there's a reason why, pastor when he when we

chose the twelve values, the twelve plus one values, we

put it together. Okay. So now I want all of

us to turn to page I think it's twenty am

of prayer. Prayer is what powers us. That's why prayer

powered Okay. There is a difference. One in a doctrinal position,

the other is a lived reality. I want you to

here we move on. Prayer is not an event, a formality,

or a sentence we tag onto our decisions. It is

the engine of all we do when X moves forward.

The strategy is prayer. Not if we pray, but when

gift of prayer Church? Do you know that prayer is

a gift? Let me share something with you. I forgot

attending a training and doing the training. The training topic

is some other thing, but that part of the training.

The trainer who's a very good trainer, but not a believer,

like good trainer, he was sharing about some things and

he asked the group, a small group of us, what

do you do when you are stressed or how do

you manage your stress? Very normal typical question, and it's

a work related training, so it's in the context of

your workplace and all. So everyone gives their answers something

I'll eat, they'll find something they like to eat and

they choose something, or I will get something sweet just

so that I feel happy, Okay, good. Some say I'll

go exercise or place a spot. Some say I'll go

and I just go and't sleep. All right, So different

different things that what works for you? So different ones,

no wrong or right answer. So the trainer was just asking.

At that moment, there was already day two on the training,

so it was over two days and day two just

this bit of each within me. I'm like, because his

question was what works for you? I'm answering his question, mam.

So I try not to be offensive to anyone, but

my answer would be I pray. No, even I'm stressed.

What do I do? I had to pray? La how

I'm scolding people here? Right? No, cannot so I will pray,

So I said, can I share? But this is what

I do? So I just kind of like, you know,

disclaimer a bit. I'm not saying that, you know, but

I pray. And I didn't stop there because a lot

of them are from different religion and they pray too,

but their definition of prayer may be different. So I

added on, I talked to God. So no, no, So

it's a funny thing is that this is the trainer

he wrote, because he was writing all the answers of

everyone else on the board. So you write, pray, but

and I don't know what's that, but pray. Then after

that he went on, because what his question was, when

when you are triggered by something, what do you want?

Are your options? So you're trying to he's trying to

help us, you know, manage it, you know, in a workplace.

So he gave us the scenario. Even you're in a meeting,

a work meeting, and in the meeting something triggered you,

maybe something someone said. It happens, right normal, we all

real world. Something triggers you in a meeting. He said,

you can't go and suddenly say I want to go

to the canteen and buy buy something sweet, right, or

I go and I'm going to sleep now I want

to go and play badminton. Now you can't. So what

are your options? So by the time he limited it

right because some of them answered, take a deep breath, right, okay,

and then some an said some answered just don't do

anything for a while, okay. So he limited to only

two answers. Take a deep breath and temporarily don't do anything.

Don't say anything, because sometimes when you simply you and

you you, you trigger you just out right just don't

do anything. Correct. There are some of the tips, right

if you're triggered, just breath, no need to do anything yet. Correct.

But in my heart, he didn't take pray because he said, yeah,

But again it only reminded me again how blessed we

are that we have the gift of prayer. All right,

So this is the first point. Prayer is a gift

from God. Now the verse is Philippians chapter four. Now

why is it a gift? Now? But before that, now,

all our core values are taken from X yy So

X chapter two. We say that we see that the

disciples or they were in one chord, They followed the

Apostles doctrine, and they were in prayer together. That's where

we get all our Tralve values. But before X chapter

or look into your booklet is dead. But the booklet,

I think, is showing the new King James. I'm going

to read from the new living translation on the screen.

Don't worry about anything. Verse six. Paul is saying to

the Philippine church. Instead, pray about everything, Tell God what

you need and thank him for all he has done.

Verse six, verse seven. Then this is where the promise

comes in. All right, so member, that's verse six the

action on your part, and then the seven verse seven

is where the promise comes. Then you will didn't say

you may or they just say you will. You will

experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. He's peace.

Will God your hearts and minds as you live in

Christ Jesus and verse eight. And now, dear brothers and sisters,

one final thing I felt that all is saying that

want to say. Okay, okay, what did Paul say? Fix

your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right

and pure and lovely and admirable or good reputation in

the New King James, think about things that are excellent

and worthy of praise Church. The word God here, the

In Greek, what it actually means means it will garrison

God will God. It means God peace will hold your

word peace, now this is New Testament, but of course

in the original in the Hebrew, it actually means more

than just no conflict or the absence of conflict, meaning

we will think that peace means no conflict or means

no conflict peace right, But it actually means more than that.

It means wholeness and well being, meaning it will start

from the inner man, but it will lead to total

well being. Right. So it works out in and out

in every area of our lives, in the physical and

in the spiritual as well. That's how powerful the peace

of God will guard our hearts and our minds. Amen.

But Church, in order for the promise in verse seven,

what are the other things in verse six and eight

that keept it in the middle, that kept the promise

missandwiched the promise in the middle? What do we call them?

The conditions? Meaning the actions on our part? What do

we need to do in order to see the peace

of God guarding our hearts and our minds? Can you

see that there are a few conditions listed in verse

six and verse eight, Kyah, most of you are in

verse six what us Verse six starts off with do

not be anxious? And the new King James says, be

anxious of nothing but in everything by prayer, and said

so even that itself is three conditions. So the first

one is this, don't worry about anything. Now we got

to meanzha we got to refuse worry church okaya, meaning

if anything in your life that you need to fight with, right,

fight worry, fight anxiety, okay, because you will worry one,

henry or you never worry one, never have anxiety emon kyah.

I would say even the most calm person, the most

the person who get it go get got everything. So

we will have one point or another feels anxiety worry. Right.

So the Bible, when Jesus do not mine, it's because

he knows that. He didn't even say when you feel worry,

when you worry, it's like, do not worry you men,

mun will worry one. So don't be too worried that

you're worried. Okay. It's a normal human thing that we

all worry. We all, you know, feel anxious at different times.

So it's just what we do when we feel worried.

All right, every time we worry or anxiety comes in

into our minds, we got to refuse it, all right,

turn to your neighbor and say refuse it, fight it

all right, okay, say it, do it. I am justified

by God. Amen. God holds nothing against me. I've peace

with God. God is on my side and all of

God's resources is available to me. You got to keep

on claiming and saying it to yourself. Imen, refuse to

be worried or be anxious. Amen. That is the first

condition in order for the peace of God to God

our hearts and our minds. Secondly, once the second condition

that Paul says, be anxious of nothing, but pray about everything.

So it's something active. It's not passive. You sit there

and wait for the peace of God. No, you got

to pray. Amen. Tell God what you need. Is as

simple as that in some other translation. So if I

were to, if you ask his teacher, I'll tell the children,

because the concept of prayer, it can sound a very

big thing. But to just break it down is to

tell God what you need and what you want. Amen,

tell God what you need. Now you'll know this, Oh

Now the third condition, so be anxious of nothing. We

fuse worry andnxiety, pray about everything. But what is the

third one? Very important? Give thanks? You got to pray

and thank God at the same time. So it comes

hand in hand, all right, prayer and thanksgiving, thank Him

for all he has done. It's not enough to just pray.

We must pray with a thankful heart. You know why,

because a thankful heart in itself is a peaceful heart.

Try being thankful and see guarantee. Right, it's almost a

guaranteed formula. You're anxious, you worry, you just start giving

thanks to God. It's always very powerful. Amen. And finally

I got the last condition from verse eight. If you read.

After verse seven, Paul added one more one more thing,

He said, think about the right things, Amen, Fix your

thoughts on the right things right now. Things that are honorable, right, pure, lovely, admirable,

good reputation, things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Church,

Do you know that we have the power to focus

on our minds on what we wish to mm hmm.

We can focus on the bed. I'm talking to myself like,

becuse sometimes I tend to focus its Okay, it depends

so your your makeup. If your makeup is the optimistic type,

don't worry, don't worry. But if you're a bit more

swaying towards the pessimistic type, are you sure not? Are

you sure or not? Okay? Okay, different personalities, we may

have different ways of you know, swaying to our way

of thinking. But remember God's world, say focus right on

what is good, because what will focus on is what

you're going to get, all right. We will find what

we are looking for when we are looking at it.

If you want to look for the positive, you will

find the positive. If you're looking for the negative, you

will find it. For example, if I look at Qunchin

and I only look for the negative. Do you think

I'll find it? Of course, because we all got negative

and I find the positive in Quanchin, well I find it.

what you look for. So Church, look for it. Okay.

So this is the conditions, so that the peace of

God for God, our hearts and our minds. Amen. Amen,

Because prayer is a gift from God. Can your neighbors

say prayer is a gift? All right? Now let me

move on next month the integrity of prayer. So Church,

we also need to be careful. Remember earlier on we

read the introduction and we say that it's not prayer.

It's not something we attached to the end of our

sentence when we want to, you know, convince someone of

our decisions and say, oh, yeah, but I prayed about it. No. Really,

it happens to all of us too, right, Yes, So

we got to be careful, especially when we make major

decisions in our lives we really pray about it or

we just want to sound a little bit holy yearning. No,

if we're honest, yes, we just want to justify our

own decision and we make it sound holy and live.

I praty, I pratty. Then nobody can say anything true,

No one but God knows. So because there's power in prayer,

time will tell, right, because it will be shown when

it will be Sein, the power or prayer will be Sein,

and time will tell whether we really pray about it

or not. Amen. Amen. So that is the integrity or prayer.

So church, that's remembered. It's not just something to tag

along with our decisions. Let's be really sincere and say God,

if there's something I want to pray for, a direction

I'm seeking God. Let's really seek the Lord, and let's

look into his word and all that his word says

and be accountable to our leaders, right disciples, she focus. Amen. Amen.

So remember all the core values tied into each other.

to the spirit field. It will always be interling. Amen.

Moving on all right? Third one third point, you can

turn to your page to any one day, because that

will be the page that we will talk about being

prayer power. What does it mean to be prayer power?

So early on we said right, there's the prayer the noun,

but there's a verb that comes with it, right, Why

prayer powered? Right? Okay, So there are a few points

that I have here. Firstly is there are four sub

points right, just to just to again bring out this value,

why prayer powered? Right? Prayer is a lifestyle, not an event.

Can we say amen to that? And were ready at

the beginning as well. So prayer is not an event.

It is a lifestyle. And that is why church we

you know, when we have prayer services, we really encourage

everyone to come together to pray and we're not judging.

So there's no judgment here, like you know why you're

not here, No, but because simply because we believe and

means we are already praying in our everyday lives. But

the prayer, the corporate prayer is just one of those

that we come together to pray. But individually, we believe

in the power of prayer and we are praying praying believers. Amen,

And we come together because we believe in the power

of corporate prayer. Amen. Amen. So, prayer service on Tuesdays

or whether our decentralize our prayer services on Tuesdays or

even our combined prayer rallies in a year. They are

all not an event. Although we have to plan Neylane

to get a venue. We've got to put a team

together to serve. We've got to make sure that there

are people managing the thing, the parking, everything, so it's

managed like an event, but it is not an event. Amen, Amen,

all right. So because we believe when we come together,

God is here with us. He hears our prayers and

he answers us. So Church, remember this is God's twelve

values for ex Church. Twelve plus one by the way, okay,

twelve one for ex Church. So if we really want

to see ex Church power forward and to see the

things of God coming to us in our minds and

in our hearts, the dreams and the visions and the

hopes and the desires, right Church, God has given us

a strategy. And what's the strategy prayer? All right? Without prayer,

there is no ex church. Do you believe that? Okay,

So it's a strategy from God. Now Jesus said, so

why we say that it's not an event, it's a lifestyle.

Because Jesus himself said he just didn't say oh, if

you prayer, Jesus said, when you pray, Remember we read

it earlier on and this is found in Matthew six,

chapter six, verse six. So you can turn to your

bibles and you can read the verse on the screen.

What did Jesus say? And I want to focus on

the first two words of this verse. Jesus said, and

this is the time when he was preaching and some

of the mound, same chapter when he taught us the

Lord's prayer. All right, so Jesus is teaching his disciples.

And he said, but when you pray, go away by yourself,

shut the door behind you, pray to your father and private,

and the father who sees everything will reward you. So

my focus is the but when you pray, turn to

your neighbor and say, not if, but when, meaning Jesus

didn't start off his thing to say when if you pray?

He already said when, meaning he expects all of us

to pray. Amen. Amen. So prayer it's not an option,

it's an obedience. So it's not a just an event.

It's a lifestyle that we live every day. Amen. Now

the second point here is that prayer is what that

powers us forward and that's why we call this value

prayer power, meaning is the engine that powers us to

achieve all the god ones for us? Amen? Amen? And

what power is this, Rea doy, we get this power

power of the Holy Spirit. So again I'm going back,

tying back to spirit fuld very first call value because

Baso said, like what Baso said to us when he

shared it with us, this Holy Spirit was from the

beginning of creation and he will be in all and

all until the beginning to the end is all Holy Spirit. Amen. Amen.

So it's the Holy Spirit's power. So the question now

I want to ask you and I and myself as well,

do we really believe in the power prayer? Again, I

star thought of saying that if you ask anyone, any

believer that you know of, do they believe in prayer,

they will say yes, it's not then they won't be

a Christian, correct. But the question now to you and

I is do you really believe in the power of prayer?

We need to believe enough to actually pray. You can

say you believe, we think, we believe, We know we

believe supposed to believe, but do we believe enough that

we will actually do it practice it? All? Right? So

EX Church is where we are today only because we pray.

I told the Am Church Adam Church was birth only

because we pray savely ten am two. So every time

if you're early enough, yeah, you're join us for the

pre worship prayer. If you will notice, before any church

plant is being birth or we start a new plan,

we will always be on the pointman, pray for the

plant thing of so and so church. Why because it

always starts with prayer. It's what that is what powers

us forward. Amen. So we will always pray, and that's

how we started. So X Church is founded on that

and we believe in the power of prayer. Amen. Amen.

And it is not only prayer is not an option

like when Jesus said when and not if, It is

also a requirement that gets us to where God wants

us to Remember, I said in the beginning we read

the first paragraph. Is the engine? All right, it's the engine.

You can have a beautiful car on the outside. No

engine can move or not cannot move, Okay, So it's

the engine insight that moves the car forward. So why

is X today having hiding more than sixty over churches

across ten nations, is because every Church plan has been

prayed for. Amen. Amen, God, this is all the glory

because he's the one who powers prayer, and he's the

one who answers prayer. Amen. Amen. Okay. Now I want

to turn us to efficients chapter three, verse twenty. This

verse is not in your booklet. I want to show

and bring us to this one and show us that

it is the Holy Spirit who gives us the power. Amen. Amen.

And there's no limit when we set our minds and

we understand what God can do through our prayers Imen

Ephesians three twenty. And some of us can memorize this

is oh okay, this is new living translation. Here we

go verse twenty. Now, all glory to God who is able,

to his mighty power at work within earths to accomplish

infinitely more than we ask or think. In the New

King James, it says God is able to do exceedingly

abundantly above all that we are a thing according to

the power that's work that's at what we do us.

So what's that power that's at what witinness Holy Spirit.

Go back to the Spirit via the Holy Spirit at work.

Widdiness is the power, Amen, that works through us so

that God can do exceedingly abundantly, meaning what you pray for,

what you ask God, God can do above and beyond

true the Holy Spirit working in our lives. Amen, hallelujah.

If you're not excited, I hope you're excited with this, Amen.

So it is a Holy Spirit who gives us a

power that makes our prayer effective. So again, there's no

such thing as effective prayer without Holy Spirit. Okay, okay. So,

and there is no limit that we can set with

our minds and our understanding as to what God can

do when we pray. We pray with the power working

in us. Immen. So the effectiveness of prayer is according

to the power that works within ess And what is

that power, the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen. That

brings me to my third one. All right, the third point.

So the second one. You're saying that this is the prayer, prayer,

prayer powers forward, Amen, with the Holy Spirit power. But

prayer reveals our dependency. Okay, let's see. So whether we

pray or not reveals who we are depending on. Do

you agree everyone who does not pray is actually making

a statement. They're saying that they are depending on something else.

Right now, if we don't pray, it means we don't

need God, lad, But a person who prais is essentially

saying God, I need you, right. But in other words,

when we don't pray, it's like saying God, I don't

need you. I got discovered. I can set though, So

it's almost putting your hand and say God, it's okay,

I can settle this myself, right, okay. But everyone who

prays is saying God, I really need you. So remember

when we stop praying, we're actually saying God, I got this,

thank you very much, but no, thank you? Why not?

And we stop depending on God? Students here, And I

was a season two before do you really do you? Do?

You pray more when you are desperate, when you're going

to face your exams and you're not fully ready, okay,

but all the ready students like, yeah, I'm always ready,

not even radio. So you pray right, because you'll never

be ready enough to or not never be ready enough,

never all right? So we always need God? Right? Yeah?

But when but there will be one time or the

two times that you really desperately need you can see

your prayer ride, your prayer goes all the way up God,

I need you right, right, because we need the Lord.

It's just an analogy of how we cry out to

God when we need him, immen. So if we come

to a place like God, it's okay, I got this,

and we rely on what connections contacts all right, all right?

You know maybe that or that thing for money, right,

so sharing this in his experience, right, instead of relying

on God for providing the finances, we rely on our

own context, our own ways of finding our solution, right,

instead of praying and relying on God. So, in other words,

prayerless people are those who say not to say that

they don't believe in the power of prayer. They depend

on their own strengths, their own past, their own past,

you know, successes and all to solve what they need

to solve. So we want to make sure that as

church we are prayer powered and nothing else gets us.

And I want us to know that nothing else will

get us to our future except our relationship with the

Lord and us seeking God. Do you know that the

only way to get to where God wants us for

the Church, for your for you as individuals as well,

is to ask God for his health. Amen. And the

result is God will answer that prayer because if I say,

if if it's his will, he will answer the prayer man,

because if it's not his will, we also don't want

God to answer if it's not his will. Okay, okay,

And we know the Bible says when we pray according

to his will, he answers. And this verse is in

your book Onirse John five fourteen. Okay, Now I will

read both in the New King James and the New

Living Transition because I'm coming to a very important point

right now. Now. This is the confidence that we have

in him. Church, does anyone you want to have confidence

when you pray that God hears your prayer. This is

the confidence that we have that if we ask anything

according to His will, he hears us. A New Living Translation,

it says we are confident that He hears us whenever

we ask for anything that pleases him. In other words,

what is according to His will will always be pleasing

to him. So the question, but it would be but

how do I know if what I'm praying for is

according to God's will? So how do we know? Church?

That's where God has given us his word word faithful.

You got to go back to the word of God,

because the word of God, he has placed it above

his name, and they remembered He and they remember they

God answer said, yeah, I'll tell all the roadles that

he remembered. God has placed his word above his name.

He plays his word above his own name. And that

is the word of God that will never change. Amen,

It will stay and remain forever. So we got to

go back to the word of God in order to

know whether that is of God's will or not. Amen. Amen.

And the next question will have to ask when what

I'm asking God, is it pleasing to him? Amen? And

if it's pleasing to God and according to his will,

then pray be confidence church, right because the word of

God says he will answer you. Amen, hallelujah. So but

and on the other side, we also don't want God

to answer if that's not part of his will. Putting

in the context of our church in ex Church, we

don't want to have a great building, big building if

that's not what God' spent for us. If God is

calling ex Church to go out and be scattered and

plant small, we want to obey, and we don't want

to pray for a big building right correct, if if

it's not God's will for us. To be ten thousand

big in one place. Then we also don't want to

pray that prayer all right, We want to pray according

to God's will. Amen. So Church prayer and the will

of God goes hand in hand, and praying people actually

are people who are always in line to the word,

to the will of God because they are praying in

line with the will of God. Amen. See how powerful

that is. Amen, hallelujah, Thanks Jesus. Amen. So now now

as we're talking about prayer and the will of God, again,

I want to bring us back to the Holy Spirit

because again we got to depend on the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit will never be out of the equation. Amen. Amen.

So speaking about prayer and prayer of God, we must

see that it's the Holy Spirit is the only source

of effective prayer. Why because only the Spirit of God

knows the mind of God. Right not. So you want

to know the will of God in order to pray

according to his will, so that your prayer is effective.

You got to ask them the best person. Who's the

best person the Holy Spirit? Why because he's the spirit

of God and he knows the mind of God. Amen.

Any prayer that does not come by the Holy Spirit

is not an effective prayer and it will not accomplish

anything because it is not acceptable of pleasing to God. Amen. Amen.

Now to turn us to Romans chapter eight, verse twenty

six to twenty seven. How here Paul tells the Roman

Church of how the Holy Spirit helps us in our weaknesses,

especially in the area of prayer. Can we look at

it the Romans chapter eight, verse twenty six to twenty seven.

This one is not in your booklet, so you can

write it down, all right? And the Holy Spirit helps

us in our weakness. Already stated is a weakness. Don't

argue with it, don't fight with it. That No, I'm

not weak. I can pray. I know how to pray.

It's stated that we are weakedly Okay. For example, we

don't know what God wants us to pray. But the

Holy Spirit prays for us with grownings that cannot be

expressed in words. And the Father, who knows all hearts,

knows what the Spirit is saying. All right, hallelujah, Thank

you Holy Spirit, for the Spirit pleads for us. Believe

us in how money whose will? God's will? Can you

see that you have? I tell you there's no other

way except with and to the Holy Spirit. Amen. In

order to pray in harmony with God's will, we have

to invoke the help of the Holy Spirit and say

we know what to pray, we don't know how to

pray all right. So it's a universal problem stated in

the Word of God. So this is when we need

to ask the Holy Spirit to help. So Paul also

explained one main purpose of the Holy Spirit when God

sent him to us is to guide us in prayer

and to show us to pray, how to pray and

what to pray. All right, And it says here, and

I want to remind us again, the Bible uses the

word the Spirit himself. Say to your neighbor himself. Turn

to the other neighbors, say himself. While we're trying to

achieve here, the Holy Spirit is a he, all right.

He is a person, all right who intercedes for us. Sallelujah.

So the real key to praying effective prayer church, all right,

is to pray to His will. Of course, we know

that because only many prayer are going to His will,

God will answer. But it's to acknowledge again, I'm still

on the point of dependency of God. Is to acknowledge

that we are totally dependent on the Holy Spirit to

guide us and to empower us in our prayer. Immen

to be able to pray in line with the will

of God and hence to see our prayer come to past. Hallelujah, Amen.

So Church, So is it just about the words that

we pray? No, it's not how many words or how

long we pray. But it is the power that works

through the words, all right, it is the power that

work through those words. We have to learn how to.

So the key here is to learn how to yield

to the Holy Spirit and let him guide us and

empower us in our prayer. So I'm just going to

give us a few tips here of how we can

do that, just some practical ones. One of the ways

is to pray according to God's words, going back again

to God the word fitful, immen, praying according to God's

word because his word is above his name. And we

can never pray a more powerful prayer than when the

Holy Spirit gives us a release and the claim of

the Word that particular situation. Right, So in that situation

he brings out the Word of God and we can

pray it that is powerful, that is like the rarema word,

the word becoming life. So pray the word of God, immen,

and the Holy Spirit will prompt us and the Holy

Spirit will help us to release and to claim the

Word of God in that particular experience or situation. And

sometimes we don't know what to pray, we just have

to in sort of like almost like saying literally, you

just open the mouth and you let him pray to you.

And it can be something that maybe you have never

really taught about about yourself, or can be any other situation.

But whatever, the prayer that the Holy Spirit has given

to you. And sometimes God reveals the will of God

even to allowing him to pray way true you and

finally braying in the spirit or in the unknown tongue

the gift of tongues that He has given to us. Amen.

So these are different ways that we yield to the

Holy Spirit and we ask the Lord to help us. Hallelujah.

Are we good? Amen? All right? I think I'm at

So ABC was the A for what it means to

be prayer powered. Prayer is a lifestyle, not an event.

Prayer that powers us forward. Amen. Prayer reveals our dependency

on God and especially our dependency with the Holy Spirit.

And finally, prayer that is submitted to the will of God. Again,

I say again, prayer and the Word of and the

will of God will always come hand in hand. Correct. Amen,

For our prayers to be effective, it has to be

aligned to the will of God. And the best to

learn this is to see how Jesus prayed, because I

believe Jesus he not only taught us the Lord's prayer,

he modeled it out what it means to pray. Okay,

So I want us quickly before we draw to a close,

to go to Metthio chapter twenty six, how Jesus prayed

in the Garden of Gatsimony. And I think some of

us are familiar. Let's look at it one more time together,

Mattil twenty six, verse thirty nine. We'll skip a few

verses and go again to forty two. So verse thirty nine,

it says he as in Jesus went on a little further,

and this is after the Lord's supper he had. He

broke bread and wine, communion with his disciples, the last

final subberty, right, and then he's going to pray. He said,

I need to pray, and his disciples are all there.

He asked them to keep watch, but they all fell asleep. Okay,

So he went a little further. Verse thirty nine. He

bowed with his face to the ground, and what was

he praying? Church? My father if it is possible, let

this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet,

I want your will to be done, not mine, beautiful

powerful amen, Verse forty two. Again, then he went back

to your disciples. I like ha like that, so you

cannot keep watch, U cannot stay awake. Okay. Then you

ask them to watch and pray. And then he went

to pray again verse forty two. Then Jesus left them

a second time and pray, my Father, if this cup

cannot be taken away unless I drink it, your will

be done. Can you see her? Jesus modeled the prayer

out for us. We can see. This is what we

call submission, not my will, because submission means this. No,

if you ask me my preference, Jesus is saying to

God the Father, if you ask me, I'd rather don't

go to the cross. My preference my one. If you

ask me, I'd rather not. Have you ever said that

all of us, right, God or your parents as to

do something? Oh, this is not my but you submit.

It's the same concept. But he said, but if you

want me to do this, I will do it. Your

will be done. Imen. So that is what it means.

So submission meaning renouncing our own will. Okay, yes, this

is my preference, this is what I personally want, but

I'm going to put it aside, renounce it, and I'm

going to embrace God's will for me. Imen Okay, that

is submission. So Jesus gave us this pattern. So not

only he taught us how to pray in Medal chapter

six and I'll go to metatoterisics now, but he modeled

it out what it means to pray according to God's will.

Can you see that no other better teacher than Jesus himself. Amen? Amen.

So when Jesus taught us how to pray, go back

to Matthew chapter six. And then when I tie back

also to the value of kingdom minded the third value. Right,

what Jesus taught us to pray your kingdom come, your

will be done, hallelujah, Meaning he's expecting us to pray

every day, Lord, your kingdom, come your will. But that

is what it means. No, and he modeled it out

for us. I don't want to go to the cross,

but not my will be done. Your will be done? Amen? Amen? Amen.

So when we come to God, we have to say

your will be done in other words, Now, if what

you want and what God wants happened to be the same,

praise the Lord party all right, Okay, But you know

in life it doesn't always happen that way, right, Okay,

it is not in a cord. So if our will

and God's will is not in a chord, then we

are When we say we submit to God's will, means

we're essentially saying I renounce my will in order that

your will be done. So Church, have we been praying

like that? But that's the actual way that God has

taught us how to pray. Amen, if we have not

been my prayer for myself also because this has spoken

to me and ministered to me as well, and I

pray for all of us today that this would be

something that we want to start today. Amen. It's okay,

don't look bad at the past anymore. We press forward. Amen,

Amen to the upward call of God upon our lives. Amen.

Are we ready now to pray the prayer this way

that God, whatever I'm praying for, I want it to

be aligned to your will. All right. If it's your will, great,

If it's not, I'm willing to submit to your will. Harleylujah,

Now another aspect to think about this is this sign.

When we pray, we also need to ask ourselves, am

I praying for this particular thing because I want it

or because God wants it? Now? Because we know if

it's what God wants for us according to his will,

we will receive it. Imen And it makes a lot

of difference, all right, if it's whether or not we

believe that it's just what we want or that's what

God wants for us as well. For example, we are

praying for healing, all right, and in our lives at

one point another we need healing and we pray. But

when you pray, you ask yourself this, Do you think

that you are praying this because you want to be healed?

Or do you really believe that God wants you heal?

Because if you believe that that's God's will for you,

will you be healed? Of course you be healed. So

when we pray, we got to understand that whether or

not this is God's will for us. Amen. For example,

financial provision, do you believe that is just what you

want or what God wants for you? If you know

that is what God wants for you, pray it. Believe

it that way that this is what God wants for you. Amen,

A man, hallelujah. So I'm joining to a close right

now now when we think about again renouncing our own

will and embracing the will of God. There are always

things to remember, but I want to just put it

in three points here for us to remember and to

bear in mind every time when we are praying. First

of all, God loves you more than you love yourself.

Do you believe that? I know, it's like, oh so simple.

Every new believer should know this, right, But sometimes along

the way we forget right? Do you believe that God

loves you more than you love yourself? So when you pray,

you come with this perspective God, because you're so worried

about everything. But do you know that God loves you

more than you love yourself? Amen? Secondly, God understands you better.

God knows you better than you know yourself. Even what

you cannot articulate, you cannot make clear in your brain,

God can because God sees to you. Amen. Amen. And finally,

God wants only the best for you. Do we believe that? All? Right?

Do we believe that? Now? It's a lot of difference

when we pray believing all tree, God, you know me

and you want the best for me. And different when

you just pray and just pray and you do not

your praying, Amen, praying believing that God wants the best

for each and every one of us. Amen. Amen. So remember,

prayer is not a way. And I like this to

put into a conclusion and the worship team can come.

Prayer is not a way for us to get God

to do what we want. We agree, Although at that

moment you're praying to God to help you live. It's

okay God, I'm in this type of situation. I mean,

it's meeting all and I'm triggered. God help me. It's okay.

God wants to help us. Amen. But it's more than

just God do what I want. But prayer is a

way of us becoming an instrument for God to do

what he wants. Amen. And maybe that day he wants

you to be a blessing to someone even in the meeting.

who is able, imen able to do through his mighty power,

to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or thing Amen.

So every time we pray, remember remember we go home

and memorize this verse, Imen and pray and remember that

God is able. With the Holy Spirit working in our hearts,

he will accomplish even more than we asked or thing Amen.

So God's ability to answer our prayer goes exceeding abundantee.

And how it can go exceedingly abundantly It goes back

to the same tree points. I come back to us

again because God wants to do far greater, far higher,

far better things than what even if we can think.

Don't limit God, Amen, Church, don't limit God with just

our own prayer and thinking that this is what God

you want for me. God wants way better and more. Amen. Hallelujah.
