[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus gives us so many second chances.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna tell you why.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't need to give us second chance.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus is for us I want you to note in that man Jesus is for you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He's for your victory.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He is for your healing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He is for your recovery.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus is for you Hey listen, I am a man on a mission tonight.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, Wade, where are you?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, Wade, set your time or 15 minutes, all right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So in 15 minutes, Wade's gonna step up here and then he and I are gonna coach each.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna teach Quattam in 15 minutes.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: There's no humorous story.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: There's no something to hook you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just gonna start teaching right now, okay?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Here we go.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so at the end of this, real quick, we'll do a Q&A about Quattam and daily inventory.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Principal 7 goes like this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: This is pool of Principal 7.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Read it with me.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Reserve a daily time with God for self-examination.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Stop right there.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about daily inventory last week.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to talk a little bit more about that at the end.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And then it says Bible reading and prayer in order to know God, let's stop.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: When I stop, you stop.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So, in order to know God, when we're in the Word of God, we're going to become, we're going to come to know God, and rewiming, and His will from my life, and gain the power stop.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: What was that last word, power, to follow His will?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Man, when you hear daily time of God, I won't you just think of these kind of words, imperative, critical, crucial, important, essential.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe even urgent.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: When you hear daily time of God, I won't you just think those types of words, like, hey, this is imperative.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I cannot do this without Jesus.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what we gotta be thinking.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Because if we're not meeting when Jesus regularly
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We're not meeting with the Lord, where we are either in relapse or we are on the past relapse, because it's only meeting with him that we're going to get the power to know his will and to follow his will.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And here's the God's will for your life, to be free.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: May I want you to know his will is not for you to be punished and be down.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: His will for you is for you to be free and to be recovery and to help other people out of that ditch.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's his will for your life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And in him.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We get the power, and we spend time with him in his word through self-examination, Bible reading, and prayer.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Man, we come to know his will, and we gain the power to follow that will.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're not meeting with the Lord, you're probably in management mode and not in recovery mode.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now this is something I'm gonna teach more about in January.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm here in Rodney, Holster, and talk about this right now, but management mode is when I'm more concerned about what people see than what the Lord sees in my heart.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Management mode says, hey, I don't want to look this way.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And Recovery mode says, hey, I'm going to trust the Lord.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It changed me so I'm not this way.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Management mode focuses on what people see.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Management mode is using our own power.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And Recovery has when we're type tapping into the power of God by spending time with Him.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm allowing Him to do the deep work in us.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, we're going to talk about daily time of God.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So you got to have some tools, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You got to have a Bible.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's got to be a Bible that you can understand, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Here's what the Bible says about it, so, first of all, second Timothy 3, 16 and 17, not on the screen.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: All Scripture is God read and is used for for teaching, reviewing, correcting, training and righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Man, when you and I are in the Word of God, it's thoroughly equipping us for every good work he has for us.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Hebrews 412, the Word of God is alive and active, sharper than a double-edged sword.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It penetrates the dividing soul and marrow.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Unlike any other thing on the face of the earth, at Proverbs 35, I read this this morning, every word of God is pure.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I need a shield and you know what I know you and some of you are new to not I know this about you need a shield to meant every word of God is pure also so you need a Bible needs to be a readable translation so here's some common ones and I'll be a new living translation uh new King James version uh ESV here's the key to this we will not fight over which is the best translation
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The key is, if you can't understand it, get one, you can't understand, all right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's the key, all right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The second thing is, you've got to have a place.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You've got to have a place you're going to do this, and the key is to be alone, or if you live in a crowded house, a semi-profit, and that means you might have to get up before everybody else.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But let me say this, don't overthink it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Don't overthink it, but go ahead and plan it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, when you got your tools and you got your notebook, your journal, your pen, your pencil, your Bible, and you got a place, and you're almost already there.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the next thing is this, you got to have a plan.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so when you're bulletin tonight, you, there's a, there's a plan.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so I did a talk for a CR leaders about how to be prepped for the day, and then Deborah and Beth and Nicole, they watched me teach that and their thoughts must have been.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And that poor fellow needs help.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: because they put it in this nice little form, okay?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: They created that for me.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so I wanna talk about this, and this is a plan.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Man, when you sit down to have your quiet time, you need a plan, wait, how am I doing on time?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if I, you need to give me about 10 seconds right there, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's a slow answer.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, no more.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You gotta have a plan.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I'll never forget this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I pulled this bottle off my shelf at home today.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: When I, in 1979, I know a lot of you weren't here.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Don't, don't, don't, don't do that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Don't whistle.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: My mom had a Bible sent to my house.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It was in a box.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I had my name on the package and I beg her and beg her.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Mom, what is it, what is it, what is it, it's a Bible, I bought it for you for Christmas.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Go ahead and take it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I was 11, I was a pest, but I'll never forget.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: When I was in middle school or high school, she said, hey, go read your Bible.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Go have a quiet time.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And I would go and sit in my bedroom.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'd look at that Bible and I didn't know what to do with.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this is 1979, Bob's or this thick, you know, I'm saying, I mean, it was, I just didn't know that I was intimidated by it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And you know what I did?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I looked at the Bible today before I came here.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I was looking at it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And I was just looking for anything.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I underlined.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It was Proverbs chapter 13.
Proverbs 13 chapter mention
-
[SPEAKER_01]: A wise man runs with a wise man or no, he runs with a wise becomes wise.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And then I also in chapter 13, for some reason, underlined, he who spares the rod's pulse to child.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what I was thinking.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I thought I deserved to spanking.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, but I underlined those two verses.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Here's a plan when you meet with the Lord.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So, prepped, how to be prepped for the day.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: First off, begin with praise.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He knew one of the ways I'd do this in my journal.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Man, I just write down things I'm thankful for.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And here, it says, write down 10 things.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know what?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Write down three.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, down one thing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, today, here's some things I wrote down.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for seven hours and 50 minutes of sleep.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, thank you that I woke up zero times last night.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's a old man, thank you right there.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Because I get up to use a bathroom at least once a night.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, though, is able to get the siding fowse pressure watching my house.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever it is, you're thinking for just allowing yourself to feel it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Don't just rush through it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Man, but generally, thank him for it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I start every morning with Psalm 145.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: This is just something I'm doing this year.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Man, if you want to, this is some of the praise to God or her great king and tell him I'm always compassionate and as mercy, I'm going to move on.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: but start there, start there, and then renew your mind with God's word.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Man, have a plan that's going to read.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You can know what?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If you're going to read through the Gospels right now, I'm slowly reading just a little bit of each chapter of the Gospels right now.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Just today, I was in the back side of Mark chapter 10.
Mark 10 chapter mention
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I read the proverb for the day, and then I'm reading through.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But whatever it is, have a plan, you know, if you want to work on your step study material at this time and focus on those verses and let them really speak to you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Man, do that at this time.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Encourage my soul with God's Word.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And there's some things in God's word and someone with three says, bless the Lord of my soul, bless the Lord.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: My so-downcast, oh my soul, put your trusting God.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, when David's writing that, you really say, hey, David, why so-downcast?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Man, put your trusting God.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Be a rest of my soul for the Lord your God has been good to you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Man, sometimes I ever, you know what?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I probably quote that one at least once a day.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Be a rest on my soul, some one 167.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But encourage your soul with God.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I can do all things to Christ who gives me strength.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing is impossible with God.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Man, sometimes we just need to tell ourselves to the death.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Because you don't, I don't know if you know this, but life's hard.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Life's hard.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And if God has for me, who can be against me?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So encourage my soul of God words, and then pray.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You can use the Lord.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I use the Lord.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, actually, as I'm walking through the Scriptures, I'm talking to God.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm praying these things back to him.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm talking.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But I'll always end my time.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I use the Lord's prayers a model.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I will say my editors here through and something I didn't teach, but I think it's pretty good.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll have to talk about this later, guys.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But his prey, praise, or pen, act yield.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's really good.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, I must have said it and didn't know it and they called it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So I appreciate y'all doing that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Man, just pray.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Just pray.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And another thing I pray is, I play in my day in my quiet time.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: There's almost none of day.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I would say in the last three, four, five years.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I would venture to go back and I pray I think God for this habit because I'm I don't every morning I have to make the decision I don't just float out of my bed and land on my sofa and there's my Bible and I have to make this decision every day but I walk through my day.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, Mondays, I'm walking, I'm praying through the week and in each day.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Every part of the day, this night has been prayed for, it's prayed for a money morning and it was also prayed for this morning because I think about my whole day and I just, Lord, if it's a meeting, if it's a daughter's appointment, if whatever it may be, I pray through that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And then once I pray, you know what?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I expect the spirit to equip me for all that my day holds.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Every day, when I get to this part, I have to pray in order.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I father would have an interview that came to come that will be done on earth as it gives us this day, our daily bread.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: When I get to that part, Lord, I need more of your spirit for filming you with your spirit, so I can defeat or walk through whatever today holds.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Have confidence that his spirit will be with you throughout the day.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's the vote my day to Jesus.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I love David Livingston's of, he was an explorer, he was a physician and he was a missionary.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And when he died, his son's founding kneeled by his bed with the candlestick going, and he had just written this in his journal.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: My Jesus, my king, my life, my all.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I dedicate myself to thee.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: every day.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I got a feeling he did this every day.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm telling you about the end of the day.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I have to dedicate myself by.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm great in the morning.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm pretty good in the middle of day.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But by 9, I need to go to bed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm tapped out.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But I need to dedicate my life to Jesus again and again.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus said this example, Mark 1, verse 35, it's on the screen, it says this, very early in the morning while it was still dark.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus got up, left the house, and went off to a solitary place where he prayed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You're gonna see verses like this, like several times throughout the gospel.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: One translation says, as he all didn't did.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: This was a regular habit.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Here at Subvert Recovery, if you're newcomer, we have a higher power.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: His name is Jesus Christ, and look what he did.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And he spent time with the Father.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He did it early in the morning.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Some of you are not more than people.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what call fees for.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Seriously do it when you're at your best, you know if it's if it's lunch time and you can find a place but personally though, I don't like to start my day without it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Some people do it at night before their day and start, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to go with that too.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Just do it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Just do it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And you know what?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You're probably thinking, man, Scott, that was a whole lot.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that probably takes now.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Man, start with 15 minutes.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And you can do this in about 15 minutes.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And let it grow from there.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: How am I doing on time?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: 14 minute, all right, just hold on.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Start small and let it grow.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now you start walking up late.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The heart, the heart, so if you would join me, it would help me a lot.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Or it's going to get real awkward in a minute.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The hardest part is getting started, though.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, the hardest part is going to be getting started.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: One is, hey, it's going to be 38 degrees in the morning.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, try to get out from under the covers in the morning.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know what?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The hardest part is getting started.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: There's three things that are very important, and you can repeat these right after me, routine routine.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Say that with me, routine routine routine.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You cannot add something to your schedule without taking something else out.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, it is hard to add something new.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So you got to examine your life, okay?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, wades up your colleagues.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Set your timer for 15 minutes.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, 15 minutes, you heard it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I got 15 minutes.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: No, we got 15 minutes.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Go ahead.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So when me and Scott were talking about this lesson, I was talking about, because I kind of taught all over his lesson the last time I taught which I tend to do that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: a lot of you are here and I took a blue chip right here in front of you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: There's only been about two of you asked me how I'm doing.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So I asked y'all to hold me accountable.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, so I wouldn't want to go ahead and he wasn't here.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, so I wanted to share a couple things because I know I heard that a good bit of people took blue chips for journaling
-
[SPEAKER_00]: in small group.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And I didn't make it a week before I missed it.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I just totally missed it.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And we were talking about that in routine.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I was out of my routine that day.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Totally missed my.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So the first week, I did six days and I was like, Oh, man, now I got
-
[SPEAKER_00]: real quick i did not ask him to come up here and tell everybody this i didn't do that no but for real i felt like the lord just kind of he was like you did it six days that's better than zero which was the week before you know so i felt racing that you know i took a blue chip my my goal was seven i hit six the first week
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But I did realize something too.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I went into it with a plan and I realized my plan wasn't perfect.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I was shocked by that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But as you know, I'm journaling Galatians.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I pulled it up, so I wouldn't miss Galatians 5, 22 and 23, the fruit of the spirit.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm journaling and I shared that I was going to do that, but here's the thing, I was bound in the term and now I was going to do all of this in my quiet time.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I do my quiet time in the morning, well I can't journal about how I was that day.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: in the morning because I haven't lived it yet.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And by time I sleep on it, it's not that big of a deal the next day.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Does that make sense?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Because I thought it through and I said, well, I'll just journal a day behind.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Tomorrow morning, I'll journal how I did today.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But I realized I forgot stuff.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't that big of a deal anymore.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And so what I've realized and what I've had to do is I've taken my journaling away from,
-
[SPEAKER_00]: the Galatians journaling away from my quiet time.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I have my quiet time in the morning.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: At night, normally when after I get home from work, I sit down before we turn the TV on and all of that, I journal 10 minutes probably about just how my day was.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm coming right out of work.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And so that's how I found that I needed to do it.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But the main purpose I have been up here at the night is, if you're in the boat that I was in and you haven't done it every day and you think, well, that blue chip's out the window.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Keep going.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Keep trying.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: If you haven't done it but one time, you know what, in small group of nights I say, I'm reactivating the blue chip, you know.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Starting the new tonight.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: We do, we do that in our group a lot of times.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we'll say, I took a blue chip two weeks ago.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I messed up, here's my blue chip, and starting again the night, and then we encourage each other.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, so wait now, having lunch, and we were talking about the lesson we thought, maybe it would be good to do two things.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: One to come back and realize, this is hard.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If you've never done it before, it's very hard, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, it is essential.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Socrates, I think what Socrates has said, the unexamine life is not worth living, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so when I first became the CR pastor, there's a couple of things I was just, I'm asking questions, I'm doing observations.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And you're ever seeing the movie Santa Claus, too?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You remember that the evil Santa Claus has a rule book and he's walking around going, hey, are we doing this or are we doing this?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I literally was that guy.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And it wasn't because I was just checking the rules, but I wanted to know what we're doing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But what I found out the daily inventory probably of all the tools it was the least used tool.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And there's a reason why, because it's difficult.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so I like Wade.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I thought, well, I'll just do it in the morning.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly the same thing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know what, yesterday was yesterday.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And what I felt during the day wasn't that much.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Because I like Wade.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I had to find a time where I could do the daily inventory.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And I did the fruit of the spirit right now.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just sort of walking through my day.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Lord, how did that conversation go?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Come out of my, oh my gosh.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I remember feeling guilty, you know.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so I just do a bullet.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now walk through my day and just wondering, do I owe anybody an immense?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now here's what I do it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I've got a son that's 13 that I have to stay in his room until he falls asleep.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I got 30 minutes.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I used to do during those 30 minutes?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: just scroll.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: First it would start out with text that hadn't respond.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I would do that and then it would go to email and then it would go to Netflix or YouTube or whatever.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so I've found that, but I'll be honest with you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I knew I was gonna be teaching this lesson in night and you know what, last night was a night, I forgot to do it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It just, because you know what, it's a new routine for me.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a new routine, but I'm going to tell you this about your God, He's full of compassion.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He is gracious, slow to anger and rich in mercy.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's our God.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He is for us.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He is for us.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So we've presented last week, Daily Immentory this week, quite a time, calling him much time to have eight minutes.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It might be a little bit on the spot or I'm not.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You have any questions and we may not have all the answers, but you have any quick.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: This is the maintenance mode of our recovery, okay?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: This is nuts and bolts stuff, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so maybe you have a question about Quattam or you have a question about Daily Mintory.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And if we can't answer it, we may let one of you answer.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You got a question?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Man, that no, because you may point your finger on Judas went and hung himself, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so don't do that, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So, no, that's a great point.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: What I would encourage if you don't, if you don't have a re-implant, I would start with a Gospel of John.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: just start John chapter one and there's John, there's first John, second John, third John, but Matthew Martin, Luke John, I would start right there with John.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And matter of fact, we got the CR Bible back here and I believe it even has a new believer's reading plan and the back, which is very good too.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So, but I would start with a gospel of John, that's a great question.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: our handwriting, we can't really read it, or our credit for our credit is typing out of the or using your phone to check the notes, is that still acceptable?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I use my iPad, I'll tie everything in my iPad.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's great.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I think you got to do it works for you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And earlier I said, you got to have a Bible.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Have a good Bible app.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yeah, you version.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If you don't have you version download you version.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think you got 6,000 different translations really.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But I mean, it's a lot.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So through the word.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: What?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Through the word.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Through the words that good app.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Man, it's a good app.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't get paid by them, but man.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So, me also have a question.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Day one journal is good, yes.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's a app.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The day one journal is up, yeah.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, okay, so here's a confession.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I've tried all the, I've tried the journal apps.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I spent $100, someone gave me a gift card to Amazon one time, I bought the $100 pen for the iPad.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And it doesn't, the typing doesn't work for me, but I'm 58 year at 57 years old.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so I'm old school, I just use a journal and that's what I do.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's what Paul used to go ahead.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So it looks like I do my quite a time.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So after we put the kids on the bus, all right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And then I go and I just choose I get my coffee, all right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I sit outside.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I even, I got a little heater right now because it's cold, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I sit outside and I get still for a minute.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll be honest with you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I just look at the trees.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Right, I have a look, listen, I'm typically not a cloudy person, but I'm going to be honest I have loved this past week, I'm looking at God's creation, it just reminds me who he is, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And I just quiet my soul a little bit.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And then what I do right now, I've read Psalm 145, I've been doing that every day this year because I used to read Psalm 145, I've found out in the temple three times a day, I thought they can read three times a day, I can read it once a day, I begin with that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And then at Proverbs has 31 chapters, I read a chapter of Proverbs, okay?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And then at anything that's speaking to me, I write down on my journal.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If you were to look in my journal, you'd see Psalm 145.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Today, I think it's like 305 or whatever days.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how many times.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm still writing stuff down.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of times it's about as compassion as mercy, his goodness, or his rule, or his power, whatever it may be.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And then I write something down about the Psalm of the day and the proverb, today was probably 30.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I knew the word of the Lord is pure.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Man, I read that this morning.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And then I'm reading through the gospels and so I read Mark chapter 10 and it was talked about the rich young ruler.
Mark 10 chapter mention
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And then I end that time with prayer.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And again, I use the Lord's prayer.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And honestly, at some point in there, I get up at some point and go get a second cup of coffee too.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And I sit back down and finish my coffee and then I pray just like I told you, that's sort of what my and a nutshell looks like that probably takes me about an hour.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I get that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, you know what?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: 15 minutes.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Proverbs there's three one Proverbs if you just read a proverb a day and began there's the book of wisdom I'm so much wisdom in there You, I'm Jesse Yeah That's good good
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's good.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Good.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: If that's it, one thing I wanted to mention.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Daily inventory on the daily inventory.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: The last question I asked Scott mentioned it while ago, but when I'm a inventory and that Galatians script for your fruit spirit, the last thing I do is I ask myself, do I owe an amenence to anyone?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I asked the Lord to show me if I owe an amenence to anyone.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And I try to take action on it right there.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: If I need to, I'll write a name down, but I have stopped what I was doing, went and made a phone call.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: If I could handle it by phone, I have turned it my wife, because I hood her one one night.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Or maybe shoot a text and say, hey, can we talk tomorrow or whatever?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But I try to take care of it right there because if you don't, if you don't, start that action.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Then you know what you put behind you, you're moving forward and you'll forget.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what I've found that I need to do as far as making an amends.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: With this step, when you was over the time of God,
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And you're making a men's, listen, you don't have this long list of forgiveness and amends issues that you have when you first go to your first step study.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You're keeping a short list if you need to list it all.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: This step may cause you to never have to take another step study again.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, one thing I have heard, and this has been a semi-common phrase, someone's going through something, and I'll hear him say, well, I'll just wait until my next step study.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's easy, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: When you're the one that's hurt, and you're the one that's angry, well, I may just wait until we start a step study in January.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: This step prevents that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: This is continually working on our recovery.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, well, thanks for letting us share.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you guys.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
