-
Do you remember when you were born
-
again? If you can't remember when you
-
were born [music] again, ha, maybe you
-
need to get born again. [music]
-
Each of us should have a very vivid,
-
very vivid memory of when we were born
-
again, when our life became brand new,
-
when he recreated us from the inside and
-
it worked its way on [music] the
-
outside. Each of us should remember.
-
Say, "Well, I don't know if I remember
-
that or not." Well, you should. [music]
-
You should because it's a monumental
-
event that takes place when God comes
-
and makes his residence [music] in us. I
-
can remember when I was born again. I
-
can [music] remember it like it was
-
yesterday. I have the picture in my
-
mind. [music]
-
I was four years old. I was sitting
-
towards the back, the center aisle. My
-
mom was actually pregnant with my
-
sister. I [music] was sitting next to
-
her on the end so I could see. My dad
-
had invited [music] this group to come
-
to our church that did drama
-
presentation depicting the [music] great
-
white judgment day.
-
The judgment day. And [music] so um
-
people in the church were in the in the
-
play, but it showed people coming up and
-
standing [music] before the throne of
-
God. And there would be some and he
-
would say, [music] you know, well done,
-
thou good and faithful servant. Enter
-
into your reward. But then there were
-
others that he would say,"I [music]
-
don't know you.
-
>> Depart from me." [music] I can remember
-
that my aunt was in that play. She was
-
one that he said, "I don't know you.
-
Depart from me." And I was like, "Oh my
-
goodness." I can remember thinking that
-
as a four-year-old. But it impacted me.
-
I knew what was happening. I knew what
-
was going on when they were having that
-
play. And I knew it was a moment of
-
decision for me at four years old to
-
make a decision. So, I am going to walk
-
with God. I believe in Jesus. I believe
-
he died for [music] my sin. I believe
-
that he's come to make me new on the
-
inside. Even as a four-year-old, I
-
[music] knew it. I received Jesus right
-
where I stood by my [music] mama.
-
Never looked back. Never looked back.
-
Never looked back.
-
You don't have to look back. You don't
-
have to be pulled back. Don't allow the
-
devil to pull you back into your old
-
life because you've become a new
-
creature with a new life. Your past is
-
washed away and gone forever.
-
[music] That's how God sees you. Brand
-
new. You say, "But my past." What past?
-
He says, [music] "What past?" He says,
-
"What past? There is no past. There's
-
only a future in him. And it's an
-
amazing future. It's an amazing future.
-
It's a blessed future. His plan for your
-
life is a blessed plan. [music] It's a
-
good plan. It's a wonderful plan. God
-
has a plan for each of our lives.
-
[music]
-
Each of our lives, he has a plan."
-
And then when [music] I was eight years
-
old,
-
I remember being filled [music] with the
-
Holy Ghost. I remember going to Boys and
-
Girls camp and I can remember going up
-
around the altars
-
tarrying [music]
-
cuz that's what they told you you had to
-
do. Just come up here and tar. And I can
-
remember people being all around me,
-
[music] you know, saying, "Let loose.
-
Let loose. Hang on. Hang on." on. And
-
I'm like, what do you do? Lay let loose.
-
Hang on. What do we What am I supposed
-
to do? Well, needless to say, that was
-
not the moment I was filled with the
-
Holy Ghost. I can remember I was my
-
[music] daddy had given he always gave
-
an invitation to come up around the
-
front and pray the end of every service.
-
And I was standing over by [music] a
-
side wall.
-
There were a lot of young people that
-
were filling that aisle. And we were all
-
just down there praying. And [music]
-
suddenly,
-
>> suddenly,
-
I didn't have to have anyone lay hands
-
on me. [music] I didn't have to have
-
anyone tell me what to do. But suddenly,
-
suddenly, I was filled with the Holy
-
Ghost just as they were on the day of
-
Pentecost. Filled with the Holy Ghost.
-
And I began to speak in tongues as he
-
gave me the utterance.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Woo.
-
Saved. Filled with the Holy Ghost. And I
-
can't even begin to tell you the times
-
I've [music] been healed. Healed by the
-
power of God. By the word of God.
-
[music]
-
By the word of God. He sent his word and
-
he healed us. He sent his word and he
-
healed [music] us. He sent his word and
-
he healed you.
-
He healed you. Laying on our hands is
-
one way, but it's not the only way. You
-
can receive healing right where you are.
-
Right where you are. [screaming]
-
Right where you are. Thank you, [music]
-
Lord. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord.
-
Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord.
-
Hallelujah.
-
It makes me [music and singing] want to
-
shout.
-
>> Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
-
>> Thank you, Jesus. Jesus, Lord, you're
-
worthy. You're worthy, all the [singing]
-
glory, all the glory, [music] all the
-
honor, all the praise, all the praise.
-
[music]
-
>> Hallelujah.
-
Thank you, Jesus.
-
>> Thank you, Jesus. Lord, you're worthy.
-
Lord, you're worthy of all the [singing]
-
glory.
-
All the [music]
-
praise. It makes me [music]
-
want to sh
-
[music and singing]
-
[singing]
-
Hallelujah.
-
[music]
-
It makes me [singing] want to shout.
-
>> Hallelujah. [music]
-
Thank you, Jesus. Lord, you're worthy.
-
>> Hallelujah.
-
[singing]
-
>> Hallelujah. [music]
-
Hallelujah.
-
>> It makes me want [singing] to shout.
-
>> Thank you, [music] Jesus.
-
So if you're sitting in standing [music]
-
standing or watching and you say, "I've
-
never received Jesus. I I have [music]
-
no recollection of it." Or maybe you can
-
remember as a child. You received Jesus
-
as a child, but you've [music] turned
-
and you walked away from father's house.
-
You've just walked away. Today is your
-
day [music]
-
>> to turn around. Turn around. Make a
-
change. turn around and go another way.
-
Today is your day. [music] Or maybe you
-
say, "Yeah, I'm I'm I'm born again. I
-
know it. I know it. But I I've never
-
been filled with the Holy Ghost [music]
-
like they were in Acts chapter 2 on the
Acts 2 chapter mention
-
day of Pentecost when they were all
-
filled with the Holy Ghost." And they
-
begin to speak in other tongues as the
-
spirit [music] gave them the words. It's
-
a very supernatural experience, [music]
-
but it is a cooperation between you and
-
the spirit of God. If you stand there
-
like this,
-
nothing's going to happen. If I [music]
-
said, "Tell me your name." What would
-
you have to do?
-
>> Open your mouth. Produce some sound.
-
Say, "My name is." It's the same with
-
the Holy Ghost. You invite him to fill
-
you to fill you with his Holy Spirit.
-
He'll give you the words. It may not
-
sound like a language. It may [music]
-
sound like gibberish, but I'll tell you
-
what the Bible says. He knows and
-
understands [music] everything that
-
comes out of his mouth. We're not
-
speaking to man anyway. We're speaking
-
divine mysteries. Divine mysteries.
-
Think [music] about that. When you pray
-
in the Holy Ghost, you are speaking
-
divine mysteries. Woohoo. I love that. I
-
don't have to know what I'm saying. I
-
don't have to know what I'm [music]
-
praying about because I trust the Holy
-
Ghost on the inside. He knows things far
-
greater than I know. He He is the
-
express image [music] of the father,
-
Jesus, and his holy spirit. So if
-
there's somebody here this morning, you
-
said, [music] "You know what? I want
-
that." If you God's got it for us, why
-
not have it all? Huh? Don't pick and
-
choose. [music] Don't pick and choose.
-
Today is your day. Today is your day to
-
go home a different way. So if that's
-
you, you're you want to be born again.
-
You want to come back [music] to
-
Father's house. You say, "I'm tired of
-
go things are not working well for me
-
going my way." Turn around. [music] Go
-
God's way. Turn around. Or you say, "I
-
want to be filled with the Holy Ghost."
-
[music] I want you guys to come down
-
here right now. Everyone, if that's you,
-
come down here right now. Just come down
-
[music] here. Stand here because I know
-
there's people in the God would not
-
interrupt a whole service to have this
-
invitation [music] given if there's no
-
one here. Come down here right now.
-
Don't be bashful. Don't be shy. Come
-
now. Maybe you [music] haven't prayed.
-
Maybe you got filled with the Holy Ghost
-
as a kid, but you haven't prayed in
-
tongues since you were since that
-
happened. You know what? You should be
-
praying in the Holy Ghost every day.
-
Every day. Every [music] day. While
-
you're driving, while you're getting
-
dressed, pray in the Holy Ghost. You
-
say, "Why?" Because it builds you up. It
-
edifies you. It's like charging your
-
battery with a cord. That's what praying
-
in the Holy Ghost does. [music] So, come
-
down here right now. I'm going to wait,
-
but then we're going to go on. Come,
-
come, come, come, come, come.
-
Now, quick. Come down here. [music]
-
Don't sit there and think about it.
-
Come, come, come.
-
We're going to sing, then you come. Come
-
on.
-
>> Hallelujah.
-
>> Hallelujah. [music and singing]
-
Thank you, Jesus. Lord, you're worthy of
-
[music] all the [singing] glory and all
-
the honor and all [music] the praise.
-
[singing]
-
>> Thank you, Lord. It makes me want to
-
shout.
-
>> Hallelujah.
-
>> Thank you. Thank you, Jesus, for your
-
all the [music] glory and [singing] all
-
the honor and all the praise.
-
It makes me want to shout.
-
>> Hallelujah.
-
>> Hallelujah. [music and singing]
-
>> Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus.
-
>> Lord, you're [music] worthy [singing] of
-
all the glory and all the honor and all
-
[music] the praise.
-
Hallelujah.
-
[music] Okay,
-
let me just give you a little secret. I
-
learned [music] many years ago when the
-
spirit of God moves and that's you and
-
you don't [music] move, you're going to
-
be miserable the rest of the day.
-
I say it jokingly, but I'm very serious.
-
Throwing the net out, but it's up to
-
you. It's up to you. It's up to you. But
-
why settle for less [music]
-
when you can have all you can have all
-
all that God has for you?
-
He loves [music] you. He loves you. He
-
wants you filled. He wants you healed
-
in whole spirit, soul, and body. [music]
-
Okay, brave. Come on down here. Love
-
you. Come right down here. Okay. [music]
-
Come on. She's She cracked open the
-
door. Come on. Some other people come
-
join her. You want to be filled with the
-
Holy Ghost. You want to be able to pray
-
in [music] tongues like you need to get
-
down here. Maybe you've not received
-
Jesus. Come now.
-
>> [music]
-
[music]
-
>> Thank you Jesus.
-
Thank you Lord.
-
>> [music]
-
>> You're worthy, [singing] worthy, worthy,
-
worthy.

-
[music and singing] worthy, worthy.
-
Oh, we give you glory. [music] We give
-
you honor.
-
Thank you, Lord.
-
Thank [music] you, Lord. You worthy.
-
[singing]

You worthy. You worth your word.
-
>> It makes me [music] It makes me
-
[singing] want to shout

-
Thank you, Jesus. Lord, you're [singing]

[singing] I just want to thank you. I
-
just [music and singing] want to thank

you. Thank
-
you,
-
Lord. [singing and music]
-
I just want I just want to thank
-
[singing] you. I just [music] want to
-
thank
-
you, [music and singing] Lord.
-
I just want [music] I just want
-
[singing] to thank you. I just [music]
-
want to thank
-
>> one more time. Thank
-
you. you, [singing] Lord.
-
[music]
-
I just want I just [singing] want to
-
thank you. I just [music] want to thank
-
you. Say, hallelujah. [music]
-
Thank you, Jesus. Lord, [singing] you're
-
worthy of all [music] the glory and all
-
the honor and all the praise.
-
>> [music]
-
>> It makes me want to [singing] shout
-
hallelujah.
-
Thank you, Jesus. Lord, [music] you're
-
worthy of all [singing] the glory and
-
all the honor and all the praise.
-
[music]
-
Hallelujah.
-
Hallelujah. [music]
-
Well,
-
they were all filled with the Holy
-
Ghost. Each [music] and every one of
-
them.
-
See, it doesn't have to drag on forever.
-
Doesn't [music] have to be oh, hours
-
long
-
like some of [music] us experienced
-
growing up because we didn't have
-
teaching. We didn't know. And you know
-
what else? And let me just [music] say
-
this.
-
I always thought, and this was not, my
-
daddy didn't teach it this way, but
-
[music] you know, this is my assumption,
-
that you couldn't pray in tongues just
-
any time, that you had to kind of work
-
yourself [music] up, work yourself up
-
into a Holy Ghost frenzy, for a lack of
-
a better word, and then it would burst
-
out of you. You could pray in tongues.
-
But then I realized that being filled
-
with the Holy Ghost and receiving
-
receiving this [music] supernatural
-
prayer language is what it is
-
that it's like another language.
-
You know, I'm not fluent in any other
-
language, but I can say hello in a lot
-
of languages. I know how to say it and I
-
don't have to like Okay. Okay. Okay. How
-
do I say [music] can I say hello in
-
French? Can I say it? Can I say it? Can
-
I say it? No, I just say bonju. Bonju
-
sa
-
civa sava. There it is. I heard a sa.
-
It's a sava. I knew it was [music] sa
-
whatever. I can do good with hello and
-
then I'm about I'm done because then
-
they answer you and then it's like
-
the point is
-
I can speak in anything [music]
-
that I know at any point.
-
This is a prayer language. I I get a lot
-
of my praying in [music] tongues done
-
when I'm driving on 169.
-
>> [music]
-
>> It's a good time to be praying in the
-
Holy Ghost, but I'm not wanting to waste
-
time. And [music] so, I just drive and I
-
pray in my prayer language and I'm
-
building up myself on my host [music]
-
holy faith, preparing myself for the day
-
and what's ahead.
-
I encourage you, pray,
-
pray, pray with the aid of your prayer
-
language. The Apostle Paul said, "I will
-
pray in tongues. I will sing in the
-
spirit. Pray [music] in the spirit. Sing
-
in the spirit.
-
It's easy as that. You can worship him
-
in your known language and you can
-
worship [music] him in the spirit.
-
That's in your prayer language. It's
-
your [music] language. Your language
-
does not have to sound like anyone
-
else's language. It won't because it's
-
your prayer language. [music]
-
Don't get intimidated. Don't get
-
intimidated by how other people pray. I
-
don't pray like Pastor Mark.
-
He doesn't pray like I do. [music] But
-
there's not a right and wrong way to
-
pray. Just be you.
-
Just let him flow out of you. He's just
-
looking for a mouthpiece
-
[music] to spray out his will on the
-
earth. We're it.
-
>> We're [music] it.
-
So don't short circuit short circuit
-
what he wants to do through you
-
because I'm I'm not going to pray in
-
tongues. Are you kidding me? No.
-
It's a gift. It's a gift. It [music]
-
belongs to every believer. Every
-
believer.
-
Every [music]
-
believer.
-
Praying in the spirit
-
belongs [music]
-
to you. Well, they didn't teach it like
-
that in my church. Go read Acts. [music]
-
Read the entire book of Acts.
-
This didn't happen on the day of
-
Pentecost [music] when the 120 were
-
filled with the Holy Ghost. No. You look
-
back and I think it's Acts chapter 19.
Acts 19 chapter mention
-
Paul [music] comes to a group of
-
believers and he says, "Have you
-
received the Holy Ghost since you
-
believed?" And they're like, "We don't
-
even know that there is such a Holy
-
Ghost. What you talking about?"
-
It says he laid his hands on them and
-
they were all filled with the Holy
-
Ghost. Another chapter in the book of
-
Acts, same thing. Same [music] thing. It
-
says the Holy Ghost came on them as at
-
the beginning.
-
So there are some non-negotiables.
-
I believe that you will speak in your
-
prayer language, in your field,
-
baptized. Let me just [music] say that.
-
Baptized in the Holy Ghost. Baptized in
-
the Holy Ghost. Jesus said, "You shall
-
be baptized in the Holy [music] Ghost,
-
and you will be witnesses." Why? What's
-
the purpose? Lots of purposes, but
-
you'll be witnesses. Witnesses. You say,
-
"I'm just a little shy." Then [music]
-
pray in tongues. Get over that shyness
-
because he said there's a boldness that
-
will come on [music] us. Not a rudeness,
-
a boldness that will come [music] on us
-
to be a witness to him. For him,
-
there being equipped equipped. It's part
-
of our supernatural [music]
-
equipment.
-
It's not weird. It's not uncomfortable.
-
It's [music] part of our supernatural
-
equipment. If [music] we serve a
-
supernatural God, how many of you
-
believe we serve a super supernatural
-
God? Then why in the world would he not
-
want a supernatural people?
-
H why in the world do we [music] not
-
want a supernatural sons and daughters?
-
because what's in his DNA becomes our
-
DNA. He's a supernatural God [music] and
-
we are supernatural children of a
-
supernatural God. Period. I guarantee
-
you that these [music] kids up here that
-
were up here with their mom and dad that
-
each of them have certain traits of
-
their mom and their dad. [music]
-
We are the body of Christ. We [music]
-
are to be a supernatural
-
church. I'm not talking about the
-
building. I'm talking about the people,
-
the body. We are [music] the body of
-
Christ and he's made available a
-
supernatural
-
equipment.
-
Amen. [music]
-
>> So, I can't encourage you enough. So,
-
yeah. Praise the Lord.
-
That's all I had. Actually, that was way
-
more than I thought I had.
-
So, um I'm done. He's He's done.
-
[laughter]
-
Why don't we lift up our voices and
-
listen? You know what? Yeah. Hold on a
-
second. We're Let's pray in the Holy
-
Ghost. [music]
-
>> Let's pray in the Holy Ghost. Don't
-
listen to the person next to you. Don't
-
do what [music] they do. You do what you
-
do because you said you're all filled
-
with the Holy Ghost because only these
-
four came [music] forward. So that means
-
everyone else is filled with the Holy
-
Ghost and praying in tongues. So
-
So let's do it. [music]
-
Let's do it. Lift up your voice.
-
[music]
-
>> [music]
-
>> Oh, show [music]
-
show.
-
for
-
[music]
-
Oh,
-
[music]
-
no. No.
-
>> [music]
-
>> Oh
-
[music]
-
>> [music]
-
>> Da
-
no
-
[music]
-
laudch.
-
[music]
-
>> [music]
-
[music]
-
>> Allo.
-
Alas [music]
-
laushto.
-
[music]
-
[laughter]
-
Oh [screaming]
-
[music]
-
la
-
[music]
-
heaven. Hey. Hey.
-
[music]
-
Yes.
-
[screaming and laughter]
-
>> [music]
-
>> Hallelujah.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Hallelujah. You say, "Well, I haven't a
-
clue what [music] I just prayed." I
-
said, "That's okay." Because he does.
-
He understands. [music] We're not
-
speaking to one another when we pray in
-
the spirit. Now, I wouldn't get up here
-
and say, "Open a service in prayer and
-
begin just, you know, speaking in
-
tongues." No, cuz [music] I'm I'm
-
opening the service. I'm I'm I'm
-
inviting the presence of God to come and
-
you need to know what I'm praying.
-
[music] But in cases like this, when
-
we're speaking, we're speaking divine
-
mysteries.
-
The Bible says it's a divine mystery.
-
and he understands everything
-
we say. And I'll tell you something else
-
that happens when you pray in tongues.
-
In Romans, it talks about how
-
there can be a situation where you you
-
know someone that's going through
-
something,
-
but you don't know all the details.
-
It says when you don't know how to pray
-
or what to pray, when you don't know
-
what to pray, there's always a how to
-
pray. And the how is to pray in the
-
spirit
-
because you bypass your mental realm.
-
You bypass praying your will for that
-
person.
-
You know, there are situations where I
-
just want to [music] pray my will. I
-
know what I want for their life. I know
-
what I want for them. But that's not
-
necessarily God's will.
-
And so take a step up higher
-
spiritually.
-
And when you find situations where you
-
[music] don't know exactly what to pray
-
for, you know, I pick up on I pick up on
-
people a lot.
-
Names will come to me. Some of you, your
-
names will come to me. People that don't
-
even live around, their name [music]
-
will come to me. And it's not the time
-
to go, I wonder how they're doing.
-
No. Come on, step up spiritually. Let's
-
grow up spiritually.
-
The spirit of God [music] will drop
-
names sometime in our heart for a
-
reason. You don't have to know the
-
reason.
-
Just begin to pray. Just begin to pray
-
in the spirit because when you pray, the
-
Holy Ghost will take hold together with
-
you and help you pray
-
for that individual [music] in line with
-
his will. Does that make sense?
-
>> So, we're going to do one more thing.
-
I want you right now to stop
-
and I want you to think of someone.
-
Think of someone that you don't We all
-
know people [music] that are going
-
through a hard time or or or whatever.
-
Think of someone that's kind of come up
-
in your heart or you've you've thought
-
about you've thought about but you
-
didn't take it any further. Someone that
-
[music] you know or maybe you don't even
-
know them. Maybe it's the lady at the
-
Walmart checkout counter that you see
-
every time you go. Someone [music] let
-
the Holy Spirit right now cause someone
-
to rise up in your heart.
-
And you don't know all the details of
-
what's going on. Maybe you know a little
-
bit. Maybe you know nothing. But I want
-
us to get very [music] pinpointed right
-
now. And I want us to take maybe three
-
minutes and I want [music] you to pray
-
in the spirit for them
-
because the Holy Ghost knows exactly
-
what's going on in that situation. He
-
knows far greater than we know. Our
-
knowledge is so limited, but [music] his
-
is unlimited. He's unlimited God.
-
Unlimited. There are no limitations to
-
him.
-
>> [music]
-
>> And when we plug into him, we can tap in
-
to those limitations
-
and pray without limitations. [music]
-
So, okay, everyone, there's one everyone
-
got someone in mind, lift up your hand.
-
Okay,
-
so
-
I'm going to count to three [music] and
-
I want you to begin praying in the
-
spirit for that individual.
-
One, two, three.
-
[music]
-
So
-
[music]
-
>> [music]
-
>> Yeah, that spirit of infirmity come
-
again. [music]
-
I love
-
Oh,
-
hello.
-
[music]
-
Thank you. Thank you. [music] Thank you.
-
>> [music]
-
>> Hallelujah.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Hallelujah. Maybe you've never done that
-
before, but I would encourage you do it
-
on a regular basis. Stay sensitive.
-
[music]
-
Stay sensitive. When somebody comes to
-
your mind, a name comes to you,
-
just begin to pray for them. What can it
-
hurt? And it will even help. Pray in the
-
spirit. Don't just stay all in your
-
head. We've got to learn not [music] to
-
be so heady,
-
but to be spirit people, spiritfilled,
-
spirit led every step of the day, every
-
day. Because we are filled
-
with the his spirit.
-
Filled. Filled. Filled. And he wants you
-
to stay full.
-
Stay full. Stay full.
-
Your tank gets running low on fumes.
-
Refill.
-
Pray in the Holy Ghost. Pray in the Holy
-
Ghost. Pray in the Holy Ghost. Don't get
-
drained spiritually.
-
have time set apart where you pray in
-
the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah.
-
Hallelujah. [music]
-
Hallelujah.
-
[music] Hallelujah.
-
Thank God for the Holy Ghost.
-
>> You know, a
-
friend of ours had a great church for
-
years. He just recently turned it over
-
to his son. I think about two years ago.
-
But um you know church they launched out
-
in a particular region of the the states
-
here and in the first two years they
-
grew to about 2,000 people. It just
-
[music] exploded. But the thing they
-
always had was they always had a good
-
flow of the spirit of God. [music] Good
-
move of the Holy Ghost. And um you know
-
that's different different places. But
-
uh I was talking to him one time and he
-
said I said how was your weekend? He
-
said well interesting. He said, "I uh"
-
he said, "I I I ministered." This is
-
number of years ago now. He said, "I
-
ministered." And he said, "Uh" he said,
-
"I I you know," and he said, "I I can
-
teach." And I said, "Yeah, I know that."
-
And he said, "Uh" he said, "Uh on the
-
way home, I was just kind of grumbling a
-
little bit." And he said, "The Holy
-
Ghost spoke to me." He said, "What's the
-
matter with you?" And he said, "Uh well,
-
you know," he said, "Uh [music] the
-
service today, it just wasn't it just
-
didn't have a lot of my interpretation,
-
a lot of punch to it." He said, "Well,"
-
he said, "I'll help you with that." He
-
said, "Sometimes, sometimes I want a
-
good day, just a good day in the word."
-
And they'd had that. He said, "Sometimes
-
I I just want a good day in the spirit."
-
They'd had plenty of that. He said, "As
-
a general rule, I want a little mix of
-
both,
-
>> the word and the spirit. That's that's
-
the best. I believe that's that's the
-
the dimension of the church God's
-
raising up in the day we're living in
-
right now." And we had a good mix this
-
morning.
-
>> Hallelujah. I mean to put tags on it's a
-
little difficult but you know it's
-
important to not be only be fed but to
-
be pastored
-
>> you know and uh you know Jesus Matthew
-
the 9th chapter
-
9:35
-
he uh he had compassion on people
-
because they were scattered as sheep
-
without a
-
>> shepherd not without an apostle not
-
without a prophet not without a
-
evangelist there he had compassion
-
because they were scattered as sheep
-
without a shepherd.
-
And uh shepherd is pastor. Pastor
-
shepherd kind of a synonymous terms. And
-
uh you know if there's a if there's a
-
dimension the church needs in the day
-
we're living in also it's to be pastored
-
uh with the flow of the Holy Ghost. And
-
so I'm appre I appreciate appreciate the
-
way the spirit of God moved this
-
morning.
-
>> He just he just moved among us touched
-
lives you know. And I I'm I'm going to
-
finish it with this. I was thinking back
-
when Pastor Janet was sharing different
-
things. Uh, you know, she was born again
-
at four, filled at 8. Uh, you know, at
-
four I was in a church and by the time I
-
was 12, I was still in the church. By
-
the time I was 16, um, I didn't go. I I
-
had I had
-
made some commitments, but man, I turned
-
and ran away from those. I was away I
-
was a long ways from the things of God.
-
and um
-
uh got off to college and I thought I'll
-
just see kind of how far away from God I
-
can I I can get still hope I make it
-
into heaven you know and uh but I
-
remember that you know uh 1972
-
and um it was like uh I went to a
-
meeting and uh there's a guy uh Leighton
-
Ford Billy Graham associate was doing a
-
meeting in the coliseum in in Lancing
-
Michigan East Lancing I believe it was
-
and somebody talked me into going I
-
thought well can't hurt anything. So I
-
went and uh the message the guy
-
preached, I still remember the late and
-
forward the message he preached was uh
-
how many of your friends and family
-
would even know that you're a believer.
-
How many would know you're a Christian?
-
I thought, "Oh my goodness, I'd never
-
get accused of that. In fact, I'm the
-
one kind of leading most of them
-
astray." And uh but you know, he gave
-
that invitation. I thought, you know,
-
time to get it changed around. I know
-
the difference. I know what it's like to
-
walk with God. I know what it's like to
-
be to be saved, but man, I've been so
-
far away from that. Um, won't go into
-
that at all, but it was it wasn't a
-
pretty sight. Uh, long ways from God.
-
Friends were further away from God than
-
I was. And uh, but I I'm I walked an
-
aisle, prayed a simple prayer, headed
-
back to my dorm.
-
My roommates were all sitting there
-
partying. And they said, "Where you
-
been?" I said, "I went to a meeting." He
-
said, "What kind of meeting?" I said, "I
-
went to a church meeting." He said at a
-
church meeting, they said, "What
-
happened?" I said, "I got saved." And
-
they said, "Saved from what?" I said, "I
-
have no idea.
-
I don't have any idea. All I know is I'm
-
not going to hell." And that's all I
-
needed to know tonight. I got that part
-
settled. Well, that was November 1972.
-
So, so, uh, still walking with God
-
today. You know, it's a it's a
-
progression that we walk through. And I
-
thought, you know, I thought there's one
-
more group in here. Probably it'd be
-
really good for some folks to say,
-
"Okay, I need to get before God." Don't
-
even have to here. We don't have to call
-
you to the front, but probably wouldn't
-
hurt to get before God and say, "Well,
-
Lord, would I ever be accused of being a
-
Christian? Would my co-work co-workers,
-
family, friends, other people,
-
neighbors, would anybody even know I was
-
a believer? They sure wouldn't have
-
known it with me, you know." And uh I
-
went to a beach project, Daytona Beach,
-
and there were a bunch of my friends
-
that were down there, and we were
-
soul-winning down there. And one of them
-
came up to me and said, "I saw you
-
giving that Jesus freak freak." And he
-
gave some explanations. Uh and I said,
-
"No, I'm the Jesus freak. I was getting
-
him saved." He turned, walked away, and
-
I never did see him again. But I thought
-
he at least he knew fi first time in two
-
years. First time he knew what I
-
believed. And uh we we turned things
-
around from then. So, um, if there's one
-
more invitation we could give, it'd be,
-
you know, it wouldn't hurt for, uh, a
-
few folks maybe in here to, uh, get
-
before God and say, "Lord, I I need to
-
get my consecration right. I need to get
-
my commitment right. Nobody knows a
-
believer. No, nobody'd believe it if I
-
told them I was, but I need to get some
-
things right." If that's you, I would
-
recommend you get some time this
-
afternoon and just get into a prayer
-
closet, drive your car, whatever. say,
-
"Okay, Lord, I'm coming back." Okay, you
-
are you still going to heaven or not?
-
That I don't know about that department.
-
All I know is uh if if things aren't
-
right between you and God, you know
-
they're not right, and it's not his
-
fault. And so, uh it just seems to me
-
there's one more step here. Some folks
-
just need to say, "Okay, God, uh it's
-
time for me to come back. I got things
-
to do, places to go. You got a plan for
-
my life, and if I don't walk in that,
-
it's not going to be your fault. You got
-
a great plan for me. I don't know where
-
it's going to take me, but I'm I am
-
ready to go do that. Uh I finally said
-
that I I didn't serve God because I was
-
afraid if I did, he'd make me go to the
-
mission field.
-
About 250 trips later, I took him up on
-
that. [music]
-
Wouldn't trade it for anything in the
-
world. But but the thing I greatly
-
feared upon came upon me and I thought,
-
boy, if id have known it was this good,
-
I'd have gotten in a lot earlier. So
-
anyway, anyway, uh thank God for the
-
service this morning. Spirit of God just
-
took us a whole different direction.
-
Some lives are changed. Some other folks
-
probably didn't make a move.
-
>> Should have, would have, could have. But
-
that's all right. Uh find somebody as
-
you're leaving. Say, "I need somebody to
-
lead me in prayer. I got to get saved. I
-
got to get filled." Don't be ashamed to
-
find somebody and say, "Just lead me in
-
prayer." Go pray with me. A lot of folks
-
here be glad to. So anyway, Father, in
-
the name of Jesus, we thank you so much
-
for the flow of the spirit of God, for
-
people being saved, backsliders coming
-
back, people being filled with the Holy
-
Ghost. Thank you, Lord, for what's been
-
done this morning, [music] eternal
-
results, and we thank you in Jesus name.
-
Amen. Amen, Robert.
-
Amen.
-
So glad I came to church. How about you?
-
Amen. Well, if you were a first-time
-
guest, thank you so much for being with
-
us. Don't forget to text welcome to
-
918-2157066
-
and get that drink of your choice in the
-
cafe. [music] We sure want to bless you.
-
Thank you again for being with us. We'll
-
also have pastoral care assistants at
-
the front here that would love to pray
-
with you. So, please make yourself
-
available right after service. We'll be
-
right up here at the front. Uh, also
-
before we go, we want to say our vision
-
statement. Say it like we mean it. Amen.
-
We live by the word. We're led by the
-
spirit. And we [music] love the world.
-
God bless you and we'll see you
-
Wednesday.
