  1. Let's open our Bibles to um let's look

  2. at Matthew. There's just a couple things

  3. I want to get covered here today.

  4. Matthew the 24th chapter.

  5. Um sometimes, you know, I know uh I I'm

  6. not Well, let me ask how many are at WC

  7. you you've been coming you've started

  8. coming to WC within the last year.

  9. That's a bunch. How many in the LA

  10. within the last six months?

  11. That's great. We're glad you're here.

  12. >> This is wonderful. Wonderful.

  13. >> Now, um

  14. if you spend any time around here,

  15. you're going to find that we got three

  16. facets to who we are. And that is the

  17. word, the spirit, and the world. The

  18. word, the spirit, and the world. That

  19. means we're sticking with the Bible. If

  20. it's not in the Bible, I'm not

  21. interested.

  22. >> I don't want opinions. I got lots of

  23. them, but I'm not going to share them

  24. with you because they're just my

  25. opinions.

  26. Okay. Every now and then I might throw

  27. something out there and say, "I really

  28. think about this, but I'm telling you I

  29. think this. I can't prove it, but you

  30. can't disprove it. So, you can take it

  31. or leave it." If I got something I can't

  32. really prove in the scriptures, which

  33. you'll probably very seldom, if ever,

  34. hear me say that. But, um, you know,

  35. we've got these three points to who we

  36. are at WC. We, you know, we've got we've

  37. got our our what do we call it? Our

  38. mission statement.

  39. >> Okay. Three parts to it. three parts to

  40. it. We're led by the spirit. We love the

  41. world.

  42. >> Live by the word. You do those three

  43. things, I'm telling you, you're going to

  44. make it grand and glorious style. If you

  45. stick with those three things, you're

  46. going to succeed.

  47. Okay? You love the world, you're led by

  48. the spirit, and you love the world. now.

  49. Uh but but you know, especially and I'm

  50. I'm kind of stirred on at this

  51. particular month. We're still in barely

  52. in September, but um uh I if you're

  53. around here very long, you're going to

  54. find we're pretty big on missions,

  55. okay? And and if you're not, stick

  56. around. You will be. It's so real. It's

  57. so tangible. You'll catch it. Some

  58. things about missions have to be taught,

  59. but most of it's got to be taught. I

  60. remember 1975,

  61. uh, I had the chance to go to John

  62. Ostein, Pastor John Ostein. You,

  63. everybody knows Joel, but Joel Joel came

  64. from John.

  65. >> And John Ostein was probably one of the

  66. finest men I ever met in my life.

  67. Amazing teacher, preacher, pastor,

  68. everything. But, um, uh, I had chance to

  69. go to his church. Actually, Brother

  70. Hagen took, I think, six of us with him

  71. out of we were in Rama that year. That

  72. was the first year the school was open

  73. and um he took us down. It was in

  74. January, John Ostein's first midwinter

  75. indoor camp meeting. Brother Hagen

  76. really was the speaker of the thing. And

  77. he took some of us down there to run the

  78. book and tape tables and so on. And um

  79. you know, you walk in that church, John

  80. Ostein's church, Lakewood Church,

  81. there's a huge world map on the front.

  82. There were little lights all over the

  83. map on the front. You know, people years

  84. later said, you know, um you you didn't

  85. grow up around missions. We didn't know

  86. what missions was. You didn't grow up

  87. around missions, but something consumed

  88. you with missions. Something something

  89. got to where, you know, like we say, you

  90. cut me, I bleed missions. And I've had

  91. people say, "Where did you get that?"

  92. You know, "Where did you where did you

  93. get that?" One day, I said, "I know

  94. where I got it. I got it in John

  95. Ostein's church." He wasn't even

  96. ministering that week, but walking in

  97. his church missions was so tangible, you

  98. you'd catch it.

  99. >> Yeah.

  100. >> Something got all over me and it changed

  101. my life. Okay. By the time I finished

  102. Rama that year, I didn't understand

  103. anything about missions. All I knew is

  104. whatever that is, I got to go.

  105. >> Whatever that is. I heard Vicky Jameson

  106. singing. She came in class and started

  107. singing, "I'm going to Africa. I'm I'm

  108. going to have mercy on you and not sing

  109. it." But she's singing, "I'm going to

  110. Africa. I'm going to I went back to my

  111. apartment that day and said, I'm going

  112. to Africa. I'm going to Africa." I

  113. didn't know what Africa was like, but

  114. something jumped on me.

  115. >> It was tangible. And it wasn't but two

  116. years. And I was in Kenya and South

  117. Africa and actually heading for

  118. Zimbabwe. That part got cancelceled on

  119. that trip. But but um my first trip was

  120. to Africa. I got it in that I got it. It

  121. just was it was tangible. I caught it.

  122. And here I am quite a few years later

  123. and it still just burns in me. Something

  124. about the nations.

  125. >> Well, I gave you some extra time if you

  126. found Matthew 24 yet.

  127. >> Okay. Jesus disciples were um

  128. just a second here.

  129. Jesus, he he was talking to his

  130. disciples. In fact, I'll start with with

  131. the first verse. We'll take a little

  132. extra time. Jesus went out and departed

  133. uh from the temple. And his disciples

  134. came to him for to show him the

  135. buildings of the temple. They're

  136. impressed with the building. Jesus said

  137. unto them, "See ye not all these things.

  138. Verily I say unto you, there shall not

  139. be left one here one stone upon another

  140. that shall not be thrown down. Well,

  141. that's not what they were looking for

  142. anyway. And he sat upon the Mount of

  143. Olives. The disciples came unto him

  144. privately, saying, "Tell us when shall

  145. these things be? And what shall now

  146. here's what we're looking for. And what

  147. shall be the signs of thy coming?" Well,

  148. he's standing in front of them.

  149. So when they say, "What'll be the signs

  150. of your coming?" They have to have

  151. comprehended, I'm leaving, but I'll be

  152. back. What do you mean the signs of your

  153. coming? You're already here. They

  154. they're talking. They're already

  155. consumed with his second coming as much

  156. as the first.

  157. >> Wow.

  158. >> Tell us when shall these things be and

  159. what and what shall be the signs? Signs.

  160. Listen to Joe Morris. Go to his edu. I

  161. recommend everybody log on to that.

  162. He'll give you about about 85 reasons

  163. from from scriptures why Jesus is coming

  164. back soon. Signs of the times. Okay.

  165. Anyway, tell us uh when shall these

  166. things be and what shall be the signs of

  167. thy coming? And now and what?

  168. >> The end of

  169. >> the end of the world or the end of the

  170. age. Not the end of the world. It's not

  171. like the planet is going to just

  172. disappear. What's going to be the signs

  173. of your coming and of the end of the

  174. age? I I love this next thing Jesus

  175. says, answered and said to them, take

  176. heed that no man deceive you.

  177. >> Right?

  178. Apparently in that context of him

  179. returning and the end of the age,

  180. apparently there's going to be a lot of

  181. misconceptions,

  182. >> going to be a lot of discussion, going

  183. to be a lot of deceit, going to be a

  184. whole lot of stuff. That's why you got

  185. 101 uh teachings on the return of Jesus.

  186. All this is in there. He said, but he

  187. said, "Take heed that no man deceive

  188. you." That's why he gave us a Bible.

  189. >> That's why he gave us a Bible to go to

  190. the scriptures so we be not deceived.

  191. >> Okay. Now,

  192. I'm not going to take time to go through

  193. this. We've got a ways to go yet. But

  194. the part I want to get to, you know, of

  195. course, he goes in there and he says,

  196. "And you'll hear wars and rumors of wars

  197. and famines and pestilence and floods

  198. and goes through all this of signs of

  199. the times." But then he says, "But the

  200. end is not yet."

  201. Why? I think we're kind of living there.

  202. wars, rumors of wars, earthquakes,

  203. hurricanes,

  204. >> famines, floods, pestilence, all

  205. everything he said would be coming.

  206. That's where we live right now. But he

  207. said, "Don't let that bother you. These

  208. are birth painans. That's not the end."

  209. When he gets back there, he says, "Now,

  210. he gives them an absolute here in the

  211. 14th verse."

  212. He says, "And this gospel."

  213. >> Yeah.

  214. >> Why Why are we so consumed with

  215. missions? Why? Why at WOC? I uh it's not

  216. my job to to uh really straighten

  217. anybody else out, but for our own

  218. selves, why are we so consumed with

  219. missions? And I'm going somewhere with

  220. this in a few minutes. Why are we so

  221. consumed with the subject of missions?

  222. Missions being taking the gospel to

  223. every nation, every tongue, every

  224. kindred and every tongue. Missions being

  225. going to the regions beyond. Missions

  226. being going to the 1.6 billion people

  227. that have never even heard the name of

  228. Jesus. missions being, you know, like

  229. Oswwell J. Smith said, nobody should

  230. hear the gospel twice before everybody

  231. gets to hear it at least once.

  232. >> That's right.

  233. >> Why Why is it so Why is it such a big

  234. deal? Why are we a missions church? It

  235. kind of makes us a splinter group. Okay,

  236. there are places that have 101 great

  237. things they're doing. Got great

  238. buildings, great advertisement, great

  239. outreach, got great everything. Okay.

  240. But not necessarily a great thrust into

  241. the unreached, untold, unttaught. Okay.

  242. And again, so why why are we so consumed

  243. with that? This verse right here just

  244. straightened it all out for me. In this

  245. gospel, this is Jesus written in red.

  246. Jesus said, "This gospel of the kingdom,

  247. not could be, should be, might be, would

  248. be. This gospel of the kingdom

  249. >> shall be." It's an absolute. This is the

  250. way. This is going to be this way. Jesus

  251. said it's going to happen. This gospel

  252. of the kingdom shall be preached in all

  253. America.

  254. >> This is an American gospel, you know.

  255. It's just it's just a no. So, this

  256. gospel of the kingdom shall be preached

  257. in all the world for a witness. Witness

  258. means it's going to come with signs,

  259. wonders, and miracles. It's not just a

  260. good message. It's demonstration of the

  261. spirit and power. This gospel of the

  262. kingdom shall be preached in all the

  263. world for witness to

  264. >> all

  265. >> all nations. In other word nations,

  266. don't let that throw you because borders

  267. keep changing. What used to be

  268. Czechoslovakia is now the Czech

  269. Republic. It's things have changed.

  270. >> So you can't say, "Well, it's just every

  271. nation. It's every people group.

  272. >> Every people group. Doug Dennis down

  273. there in Venezuela and Colombia, you

  274. know, he gets donkeys and goes up in the

  275. mountains and finds villages where

  276. they'll say, "Do you know Jesus?" and

  277. they'll go, "No, he must live in the

  278. next village. We've never seen him

  279. here."

  280. >> No comprehension.

  281. >> There are still villages. There are

  282. still regions. There are still areas.

  283. South America, Central America,

  284. Southeast Asia. Go anywhere you want.

  285. But this go here's what we're looking

  286. for. This gospel of the kingdom shall be

  287. preached.

  288. >> Shall be preached. Shall be preached.

  289. >> Shall be

  290. >> shall be preached. Don't be surprised in

  291. the days to come if God doesn't fire up

  292. a whole another realm of people going to

  293. the nations of the world. The money will

  294. come. The doors will open. Nations are

  295. open. Visas will come.

  296. >> Yeah.

  297. >> But this gospel of the kingdom shall be

  298. preached in all the world for witness to

  299. >> every people group.

  300. >> And then what does he say? Then the

  301. >> end. Do you notice missions and end go

  302. together?

  303. >> Yeah.

  304. >> You won't have end without missions. And

  305. if you get to missions, you'll have, why

  306. are we so consumed with all this?

  307. Because I, you know, as good as it is

  308. down here, I'm looking forward to going

  309. on the other side.

  310. >> This is good down here. But I I'm

  311. really, you know, I'm pumped about the

  312. rapture. Okay. I'm going in the first

  313. load.

  314. >> It seems, well, somebody says, "Yeah,

  315. but you know, he's talking to a group of

  316. Jewish boys here. He's talking about the

  317. return of Jesus." Great. Great. But the

  318. rapture of the church is just seven

  319. years earlier than that. So the same

  320. kind of stuff applies. Yeah.

  321. >> So anyway, I said all that to say, why

  322. are we so big on all this? Because this

  323. is this is the one thing I heard brother

  324. Hagen say years ago. I heard him make

  325. this statement with a group of ministers

  326. and he said, you know, he said in

  327. studying the scriptures for at that

  328. point what 60some years, something like

  329. that. He said, in studying the

  330. scriptures, I really don't know. I

  331. really don't have all the answers. I

  332. really can't say that I know. This is

  333. what the days of of Dr. Dr. Hilton

  334. Sutton when he was he was in the front

  335. lines teaching Bible prophecy etc. Today

  336. we've got Joe Morris. We've got some

  337. other people. But um uh he he made the

  338. statement he said in studying the

  339. scriptures he said I don't really know.

  340. There's some things I I I just don't

  341. know for sure. But one thing I'm very

  342. persuaded of is there's only the only

  343. thing I can see that has not yet been

  344. fulfilled that will be fulfilled. And

  345. that's a major outreach to the nations

  346. of the world. Well, you know, somebody's

  347. been in the ministry for almost 70 years

  348. and says, "The only thing I can see that

  349. has not been fulfilled is a major

  350. outreach to the nations of it's not

  351. Jesus is coming back, but it's not going

  352. to be Ezekiel 38. It's not going to be

  353. when Russia comes down and attacks

  354. Israel. That's in it. That's important.

  355. But the major sign is this gospel

  356. preached in all the world, witness to

  357. every nation, then the end shall come."

  358. Now, said all that to say, you know, we

  359. what we do is we take a few weeks every

  360. year and uh we don't necessarily get up

  361. and call it missions month or something,

  362. but man, we we uh if you've been around

  363. the last couple weeks, uh we've made

  364. mention a number of times about faith

  365. promise.

  366. >> Faith promise. And if you notice, we

  367. didn't call it uh budget promise.

  368. >> Your budget, maybe your budget can't

  369. stand anymore. Maybe it's already in the

  370. hole. That's okay. We're not talking

  371. about, you know, budget promise. We're

  372. not talking about pledge promise. Some

  373. folks say, "I just can't make any more

  374. pledges." I was looking at some stuff

  375. the other day that somehow we got some

  376. stuff that was automatically deducted

  377. out of our, you know, out of our one of

  378. our accounts. And I thought, man, once

  379. you get started, you can't get stopped.

  380. Man, those folks will sneak in and take

  381. everything.

  382. >> And I start getting out of some pledges.

  383. I don't mean ministry stuff. I mean

  384. business stuff. You know, some folks

  385. said, "Are you sure you want out of

  386. this?" I said, "Absolutely sure.

  387. You know, I didn't even know I had the

  388. thing.

  389. >> Come on now.

  390. >> This is not about budgets. This is not

  391. about pledges. This is about faith.

  392. >> This is about faith. This is a

  393. >> faith promise.

  394. >> Your budget may not handle anymore. Your

  395. pledges may not go any further, but I'll

  396. tell you, there's no limit to what your

  397. faith can do.

  398. >> If you're born again, you got enough If

  399. you're born again, you got enough faith

  400. to give you the new birth.

  401. >> You've already believed God for the

  402. biggest miracle in existence. You you

  403. went from from death to life.

  404. >> That's right.

  405. >> You became a new creature, the

  406. righteousness of God in Christ. If you

  407. if you're born again, you got enough

  408. faith to shake the world.

  409. >> So, it's not it's not a faith. Do you

  410. ever stop and think about it? You know,

  411. my wife's the English teacher. I don't

  412. think I went to that class very often.

  413. But, you know, faith is not faith is not

  414. a noun, it's a verb.

  415. >> Did I say that right? Did I get that

  416. right? She's putting her thumb up. Think

  417. about that. Now, see, we so often we've

  418. thought, well, I tell you if I I guess I

  419. just don't have any faith. I guess I

  420. just need some faith. I guess I We've

  421. all said that at one time or another.

  422. But faith is not what you have. Faith is

  423. what you do.

  424. >> That's right.

  425. >> It's not a thing you possess. It's an

  426. action you do.

  427. >> Yeah.

  428. >> So, a lot of times what happens is we're

  429. just we're getting we're shooting

  430. ourselves in the foot thinking, "Well, I

  431. just don't have any faith." Well, you

  432. just need to get saved, then you will

  433. have.

  434. But sometimes we're missing out on the

  435. best God has for us because we think

  436. it's this faith thing if God just lean

  437. over the balcony and shoot me with a

  438. faith gun and give me some faith. You

  439. know, I that's what I thought at one

  440. time. I you before I moved out here to

  441. Tulsa, I went to the little country

  442. church I went to and uh I was there a

  443. lot. Pastor finally gave me my own key.

  444. I was there all the time. I fasted for

  445. faith. I prayed for faith. I pleaded for

  446. faith. I begged for faith. I went to

  447. church Sunday nights and everybody

  448. gathered around the altar. I did

  449. everything they did and I got what they

  450. got.

  451. >> Nothing.

  452. [laughter]

  453. Faith is not it's not a difficult

  454. subject. If it was, none of us ever

  455. would have got saved.

  456. >> Easiest thing I ever did was make Jesus

  457. Lord of my life. And I barely did that.

  458. That's not that's it's just not

  459. difficult. Faith is so easy to operate.

  460. Faith just basically operates by

  461. believing in the heart, saying with the

  462. mouth. You get those two things going,

  463. you're going to be fine. That's right.

  464. >> But the part I want to get to is here.

  465. Um, faith is so important. Hebrews 11:6

    Hebrews 11:6

  466. says, "Without

  467. >> faith, it's

  468. >> impossible to please him." Must be

  469. important. Okay. James the 5th chapter

  470. says, "The prayer of

  471. >> faith will save the sick and the Lord

  472. will raise him up and if he's committed

  473. sins, they shall be forgi." Faith

  474. connects to pleasing God. Faith connects

  475. to my healing.

  476. Most believers get most healings is

  477. going to be attributed to their own

  478. faith, not somebody coming in with a

  479. special spiritual gift. That may happen.

  480. But for every spiritual gift that gets

  481. one person healed, there ought to be

  482. 10,000 people to get healed by using

  483. their faith.

  484. >> And if it was that difficult, God should

  485. have told us that.

  486. >> Should be the easiest thing we ever did.

  487. >> So, and then and then

  488. I love this one over in the ninth

  489. chapter of uh Matthew's gospel. You

  490. [clears throat] got these two blind guys

  491. following Jesus. He goes into the house.

  492. They follow him in. He says, "What do

  493. you want?" They said, "We might receive

  494. our sight." He says, "Believe, do you

  495. believe I can do this?" They said, "Yes,

  496. Lord, we do." I love the next phrase. He

  497. didn't say, "Well, according to your

  498. needs, so be it done unto you."

  499. >> According to my will, so well, if it's

  500. the will of God, it'll be No, he didn't

  501. say, "According to my will, so will be

  502. it done unto you." He didn't say,

  503. "According to your needs, your wants,

  504. your desires." He wants to take care of

  505. our needs. He wants to take care of our

  506. wants. He wants to take care of our

  507. desires. He wants to bless us and take

  508. care of us. But that's not what he said.

  509. If we get this lodged on the inside of

  510. us, he said, "Do you believe I can do

  511. this?" They said, "Yes, Lord." He said,

  512. "Good." According to

  513. >> your faith,

  514. >> what?

  515. >> Your faith.

  516. >> Not your wives, not your husbands, not

  517. your kids, not your neighbors, not my

  518. Jesus. You know, Jesus never said,

  519. "According to my faith, so be it done

  520. unto you." He never said according to my

  521. disciples faith. So he never attributed

  522. miracles to their faith or his faith,

  523. but he did to their the the individual's

  524. faith.

  525. >> That's what he said there.

  526. >> Okay. He said, "You believe I can do

  527. this?" Yes, Lord. Good. According to

  528. >> your

  529. >> your faith. So be it done unto you. He

  530. said, "You want this? You can get it.

  531. All you got to do is apply your faith."

  532. I said, I'll let say this. I'm going to

  533. take a side trip here and uh back up uh

  534. a lot of years

  535. when uh 1970

  536. 1974

  537. would have been about September. Brother

  538. Hagen had started Rama. I didn't know

  539. what a Rama was. I didn't know who a

  540. Kenneth Hagen was. I didn't barely knew

  541. what a Tulsa was. I came out here one

  542. time. I thought I needed to put a

  543. shotgun in my back. I thought I am going

  544. down there and we're going to have wars

  545. with cowboys and Indians.

  546. I didn't know what Tulsa was like, man.

  547. I'm telling you. Got down here. It was

  548. actually pretty nice. Just hottest place

  549. I'd ever been in my life. July of 1974.

  550. But anyway, but anyway,

  551. um,

  552. long story short, got a mailer. I was

  553. actually living at my parents place for

  554. a couple months till I figure out where

  555. I was going. And they got a a flyer.

  556. Somebody put Brother Hagen on their

  557. mailing list. They got a flyer about

  558. this new uh school starting up and I

  559. picked the mail up on the way into the

  560. house and it was almost almost like

  561. something jumped off that piece of

  562. paper. I had brochures for every full

  563. gospel school in the nation. I hadn't

  564. even opened the packages, but I picked

  565. up that little meager three-fold

  566. brochure about this training school for

  567. ministers. I didn't know what a minister

  568. was. I sure wasn't one.

  569. But I picked that up and I said, "I I

  570. got to go there." Long story short,

  571. within a couple weeks time, I called. I

  572. was two weeks late for school. I called,

  573. got them on the phone. I was one of the

  574. few, two of us, one of the few I know of

  575. in all the years of RAM. One of the two

  576. that never filled out an application.

  577. Don't tell them. They might still want

  578. one. [laughter]

  579. But I I mean, I just got on the phone.

  580. My dad said, I said, my dad was my part

  581. owner of the company and my business

  582. service or uh sales manager. And uh I

  583. said, I think I need to go to this

  584. place. He said, please pack up and go.

  585. You're miserable. You need to do

  586. something. I said, yeah, I know. So I

  587. said, I'll go next year because because

  588. it's already been going a couple of

  589. weeks. I'll go next year. He said, why

  590. you need to go now? I said, I can't go

  591. now. It's already started. He said, have

  592. you talked to them? I said, no. He said,

  593. why don't you let them tell you you

  594. can't go instead of you telling you you

  595. can't go? No such word as can't. Go get

  596. the phone.

  597. >> Yeah.

  598. >> Got on the phone, got the secretary

  599. online. They accepted me over the phone.

  600. If you can get here in the next week,

  601. we'll take you as a student. 1974, the

  602. uh the the initial class of Rayma. Okay.

  603. And so anyway, so I got I moved down

  604. here to Tulsa. Had a friend that had an

  605. apartment out by ORU. He was an

  606. accountant uh at a business there.

  607. He said I could come crash on his couch

  608. for a while. And anyway, I got down here

  609. and went to school. 58 of us, Mly crew.

  610. It's a miracle they had ever ever had a

  611. second year after looking at the first

  612. year.

  613. But I'm still remember, stick with me.

  614. I'm still on my subject.

  615. I knew I knew, like I said, I'd been

  616. praying for faith. The only way faith

  617. comes is by hearing. There's no conduit

  618. that brings something to you out of some

  619. other location. So then faith comes by,

  620. it comes by hearing. It's released by

  621. saying and acting and there's no

  622. substitutes in there.

  623. >> And uh Larry, what was that phrase you

  624. used? If you're not

  625. >> If your mouth's not moving, your faith

  626. not working.

  627. >> Thank you.

  628. >> I've quoted that a hundred times and all

  629. a sudden I couldn't pull it up. If your

  630. mouth's not moving, your faith's not

  631. working.

  632. >> Most people's faith problems are not a

  633. God problem. They're not a Bible

  634. problem. They're a mouth problem.

  635. >> I should let you come pick up from here.

  636. We'd go another hour. Great. That's That

  637. was a great service. If your mouth's not

  638. moving, your faith's not working.

  639. >> Yeah.

  640. >> But now

  641. anyway, uh

  642. where do we go here? Okay. So, I I get

  643. into class. I'm two weeks late somewhere

  644. in that third week. Um you know, Brother

  645. Hagen was booking friends of his. This

  646. was the beginning. This was ground zero

  647. for the Word of Faith movement. You

  648. know, Word of Faith is the Bible. So,

  649. it's always been around, but as a

  650. movement, ground zero to me was when

  651. everything kicked into high gear, 1974,

  652. and it exploded from there. So, anyway,

  653. so I'm in class. I have no idea. I don't

  654. know what I'm doing. I don't know how I

  655. got there. I don't know where I'm going

  656. to go from there. I just want to pack up

  657. and go back home and sell real estate. I

  658. don't know what all this is. And

  659. actually packed started packing twice to

  660. move back. I thought, I'm going back. I

  661. don't understand all this stuff. But um

  662. you know um

  663. brother Hagen of course he traveled for

  664. years and he he had friends that were

  665. some of the finest ministers on on the

  666. planet earth and um I got in there I

  667. think it was that third week he had he

  668. had a man in there this u pastor from

  669. from uh South Texas um BB Henkins if

  670. you've heard of Mark Henkins it was Mark

  671. Henens dad BB Henkins um, West Columbia,

  672. Texas, and he just a South Texas pastor,

  673. but he was in class for for five days

  674. teaching. And uh, and of course, this is

  675. this is a word of faith movement.

  676. Everybody's going to teach faith. If

  677. you're not teaching faith, you might as

  678. well pack up and go home. And so BB

  679. Henkins, West Columbia, Texas. And and

  680. I'll never forget it because the first

  681. day in there, he starts teaching out of

  682. Mark 11:24.

    Mark 11:24

  683. Okay? I said, "Oh, I never read that

  684. before. That's a cool verse." Okay.

  685. Verse 20. Jesus said, "Have the faith of

  686. God or have God's faith living in you."

  687. One translation says, "Have the God kind

  688. of faith." Now, that'd be another issue

  689. itself. We just need another service for

  690. that. But have the God kind of faith.

  691. The kind of faith God I always operated

  692. in. Genesis 1, God said and it was so.

  693. That's how this all works. But anyway,

  694. he uh he starts teaching on that and and

  695. he's reading along and he says Mark

    Mark 11:24

  696. 11:24 uh Jesus says, "Therefore I say

  697. unto you, what things soever you desire

  698. when you pray, believe you receive them,

  699. you shall have them." He said that and I

  700. remember sitting in class going, "God,

  701. there's something about that verse I'm

  702. not getting." Would you have him say

  703. that again? He stops. He goes, "Jesus

  704. said, therefore I say unto you,

  705. therefore I say unto you, what things

  706. soever you desire when you pray, believe

  707. you receive them, you shall have them."

  708. I said, "Lord, I still didn't get it. I

  709. may be a little thick, but I didn't get

  710. that. Would you have him say that?" Poor

  711. guy probably wondered why he kept

  712. quoting that verse over and over. It's

  713. me.

  714. I take all the blame. Third time, he

  715. said, he explained it. He said Jesus

  716. Jesus said therefore I say unto you what

  717. things soever you desire

  718. believe you receive them you'll have

  719. them. He said there are things I'll add

  720. live. It's been a lot of years. He said

  721. there are things you're going to have

  722. from God on planet earth. There are

  723. things you're going to have. Jesus

  724. didn't say you might could, would

  725. should. He said what did he say? Ye

  726. shall have them. Now I'm still on faith

  727. promise. I just want to tell you, I want

  728. I I just want to share with you how to

  729. get this working. I would be so thrilled

  730. if everybody would pray. Get a figure

  731. from God. Just let a figure rise up on

  732. the inside. Let God drop a figure on the

  733. inside. Lock your faith on that. Not

  734. your budget, not your pledges. Lock your

  735. faith on that. And you got 12 months.

  736. This is faith promise month. Within the

  737. next week or so, we're going to

  738. celebrate what God did for the last

  739. year. And we're gonna shout and lock our

  740. faith on what he's going to do the next

  741. year.

  742. >> Next year is going to be bigger than

  743. last year.

  744. >> We're going to touch more nations, more

  745. missionaries, more lost.

  746. >> But

  747. he said, uh, he said

  748. there are certain things you're going to

  749. have. Oh, nobody ever told me that

  750. before. And you shall have them. Them is

  751. something I'm going to have. I want to

  752. know what them is because I want to have

  753. it. He said, Jesus said, "Therefore, I

  754. say unto you, what things soever you

  755. desire." Well, it's going to be whatever

  756. you desire, you'll have. No, everything

  757. I desired, I everything I desire. It

  758. didn't happen up till that point in my

  759. life. Desires didn't automatically come

  760. to pass. He didn't say, "What things

  761. soever you desire, you'll have." He

  762. didn't say, "What things soever you

  763. desire and pray for?

  764. >> Therefore, I say unto you, what things

  765. soever you desire when you pray." Well,

  766. just because you desire them doesn't

  767. mean it's going to happen. just because

  768. you desire it, you're probably going to

  769. pray for it. All of us do. Anything I've

  770. desired, I've prayed for. And that

  771. didn't happen. So I thought, well,

  772. what's the deal here? You don't get what

  773. you desire. You don't get what you pray

  774. for. What are you going to have? I'm

  775. taking you back 50 years. Stick with me.

  776. What are you going to have? He said,

  777. Jesus said, written in red, therefore I

  778. say unto you, what thingsoever you

  779. desire when you pray, well, you're

  780. probably going to pray about it. When

  781. you pray, believe. Now, here's where we

  782. get mixed up again. People say, "Well,

  783. brother, I just want you to know I

  784. believe God, it just didn't work. It is

  785. an impossibility. Either you believe God

  786. and it did, or you didn't believe God

  787. and it didn't. But there's no such thing

  788. as believing God and God doesn't honor

  789. it and it doesn't work.

  790. >> Something didn't connect there.

  791. >> You can have the plug right close to the

  792. wall, but if you don't stick it into the

  793. receptacle, you're not going to get any

  794. power flowing. We get close close, but

  795. just close only counts in horseshoes.

  796. So my question was, okay, Pastor

  797. Henkins, what is the deal here? Okay,

  798. what you desire? No. What you desire and

  799. pray for? No. What you desire and pray

  800. for and believe. Now, here's where

  801. sometimes we've got ourselves kind of

  802. hoodwinkedked in here. Well, pastor, I I

  803. tell you, I want you to know I had a

  804. friend of mine say one time, I I was

  805. with so and so, so and so, and so and

  806. so, and I was with them up till the end,

  807. and they died and went to heaven, and

  808. they they were believing God, it didn't

  809. work. Boy, I had to bite my tongue.

  810. It was a good friend, and I didn't want

  811. to be a wise guy right there. Now, I

  812. would be a wise guy. But anyway,

  813. anyway, the issue was, and I've heard so

  814. many people, well, they believe God

  815. didn't work. No, no, no. Don't throw

  816. that in my direction. Because what that

  817. does, it throws it over on God. God did

  818. not come through.

  819. >> God let me down. God never let anybody

  820. down.

  821. >> He's never failed to keep his word. If

  822. it didn't, it's like John.

  823. >> I remember high school. I loved

  824. arithmetic. I loved I loved algebra. I

  825. loved algebra, too. Then they got this

  826. crazy class called geometry. It doesn't

  827. work. Absolutely does not work. I don't

  828. know who invented it. It doesn't work. I

  829. took the class. It didn't work. I told

  830. teachers, "This stuff doesn't work."

  831. She walked me through a few things. I

  832. said, "Well, okay, it works sometimes."

  833. But see, thing was, it wasn't that

  834. geomet geometry didn't work. It was that

  835. somebody didn't know how to work

  836. geometry.

  837. >> It isn't that God didn't come through.

  838. It isn't that the word didn't work.

  839. Sometimes we didn't know how to work the

  840. word.

  841. >> You know, my wife, she gets stuff, you

  842. know, mail or Amazon gets stuff in. I

  843. get to read through the instructions and

  844. put it together and make it work. She

  845. just looks at it and go, I don't I don't

  846. get I don't know how to do all this

  847. stuff. I'm the mechanic in the

  848. household. And so, I'm you know, I get

  849. to make but but you ha it isn't that

  850. things don't work. Usually, they work,

  851. but you you have to find out how to make

  852. it work. to blame God. Well, I tr I

  853. believe God did. No, no, no, no, no.

  854. Don't throw that in my direction. I

  855. believe God it didn't work. No.

  856. >> Sometimes our believing is misplaced.

  857. What do you mean by that? Sometimes, now

  858. I know you've never done this, but

  859. sometimes we

  860. um we pray and you know, we pray for

  861. finances and we check our wallet. We

  862. pray for healing. We look to see if the

  863. pain's gone, the symptoms have left. If

  864. something didn't change when we prayed,

  865. we believe, but we believe we didn't get

  866. it.

  867. >> Somebody says, "You prayed? Yeah. Did

  868. you get anything?" "Not this time, but

  869. I'm going to stick with it."

  870. >> The worst catch for us is to pray and

  871. believe we didn't get it.

  872. >> Or blame it on God. God didn't do it.

  873. >> All right? So, the first thing we don't

  874. want to do is pray and believe we didn't

  875. get it. That's not what he said. But

  876. then here's a sneakier one. This one

  877. says, "Well, I pray. Did you pray?"

  878. Yeah. Did you see anything? No. But I'm

  879. telling you what, God's going to do it.

  880. >> I know God's faithful. He's going I I

  881. He's going to do it. God's I'm going to

  882. get it. I'm going to get it sometime.

  883. You don't know how. You don't know when.

  884. You don't know where. But I'm going to

  885. get it. This God's got his word on the

  886. line. I prayed. I don't see it. I don't

  887. feel it. I don't smell it. I don't taste

  888. it. But I'm going to get it. Do you know

  889. Jesus didn't say when you pray, believe

  890. you didn't get it.

  891. >> He didn't say when you pray, believe

  892. you're going to get it. That's a sneaky

  893. one.

  894. >> What did he say?

  895. >> When you pray, believe

  896. >> that you receive

  897. >> that you receive them

  898. >> and ye shall have them. Well, I can't

  899. believe I received them if I can't see

  900. them. Well, you wouldn't have to believe

  901. it if you could see it. You'd know it

  902. then.

  903. >> Yeah.

  904. >> When you pray, you believe. I believe I

  905. got it. Do you feel it? Don't care.

  906. >> Do you taste it, see it, smell it, touch

  907. it? No, I don't care. I I believe I got

  908. it. That's what Jesus said. When you

  909. pray, believe you receive it. Believe

  910. the answer is granted unto you. And you

  911. shall have it. You can't have it till

  912. you believe it.

  913. >> That's right.

  914. >> Well, I can't believe I got something I

  915. can't see.

  916. >> I thought you might bring that up.

  917. How many of you believe you're saved?

  918. >> That's good. Don't let the devil talk

  919. you out of it. How many of you have

  920. taken trips to heaven? You've walked

  921. around, seen your mansion, all that.

  922. You've walked, you've seen Jesus face to

  923. face. You believe you're saved because

  924. you've seen Jesus. You've seen heaven.

  925. You've seen the pearly gates. No, no

  926. hands.

  927. >> Salvation is believing without seeing.

  928. >> If you're willing to do that for

  929. eternity, why in the world wouldn't you

  930. do it for healing, for health, for your

  931. needs being met, your bills being paid?

  932. If you're willing to say, I got I am so

  933. saved. I am so saved. How do you know

  934. you are? Because the Bible said it. I've

  935. prayed, received Jesus, and I got a

  936. witness on the inside. It's mine. I got

  937. it now. If you can got it now for

  938. salvation, you can got it now for your

  939. healing.

  940. >> Okay, I I got to get going. We'll be

  941. here all day. So [clears throat] anyway,

  942. so the guest minister is teaching on

  943. this and I'm sitting there going, I've

  944. never heard anything like this. Never

  945. heard this before. And I'm telling you,

  946. fireworks went off on the inside of me.

  947. The problem was I quit listening too

  948. soon,

  949. man. And I thought, I can't wait to get

  950. home and put my faith on something. I'm

  951. going I am going to be a faith giant

  952. from here on out,

  953. but I didn't listen to the whole

  954. message. I don't know where it went from

  955. there. But the the the the deal

  956. sometimes is not when you pray, believe

  957. you receive it. It's not just that you

  958. believe. Sometimes it's a matter of

  959. checking on the inside, making sure I am

  960. at a place to believe that.

  961. >> See, the Bible said Paul writing, I

  962. think it was the Thessalonians, he said,

  963. "I thank God for you because your faith

  964. groweth exceedingly." Faith's like a

  965. muscle. It grows exceedingly. If you'll

  966. use it, it'll grow. But sometimes what

  967. happens is, you know, faith promise. I

  968. want to I want I want to make a promise

  969. for a million dollars. Me, too.

  970. >> But I got to be real honest with you. My

  971. level of faith is not there.

  972. >> Yeah.

  973. >> I I can't believe beyond where my faith

  974. muscle has developed to.

  975. >> That's right.

  976. >> Stick with me now. So,

  977. finished class, went back. I had a job

  978. at a service station and went back to my

  979. apartment and I thought, "This

  980. is so good. God, this is so good. I will

  981. never again have my prayers go

  982. unanswered. God, my life's going to be

  983. different. I am going to be a faith

  984. giant the rest of my life. I I'm telling

  985. him how big this is." And I'm sitting

  986. there thinking, you know, he said, "What

  987. things?" Oh, I got some things, man. I

  988. got some things. I got some big things I

  989. want. What things soever, you know, that

  990. goes beyond spiritual truths. What

  991. things soever you desire? When you pray,

  992. believe you receive them. I didn't get

  993. that part about believing you receive. I

  994. don't know. But I'm sitting there in my

  995. apartment. My roommates's at work,

  996. wherever he worked. I said, "Okay, God,

  997. I got this today. Just devil better get

  998. out of my way. We I'm telling you, we're

  999. going for the good stuff." I said, "You

1000. know, God," I said, "there's some things

  1001. I want. Let's just start and let's just

  1002. go for it."

1003. I just sold my car, got a flight down

1004. there. It was hitching rides to get to

1005. school the first week or so, needing to

  1006. get a car. I said, "Okay,

  1007. I know what I I know a thing, God, let's

1008. just go for the big stuff." 1974,

  1009. I said, "God, I want

  1010. I heard that

  1011. I said, "God, I want what things I

  1012. desire."

1013. Might have been fleshly, but I desire.

1014. Lord, I desire brand new Lincoln

  1015. Continental

  1016. MarkV

  1017. silver.

1018. All every button you can get on it. I

1019. want everything to move by buttons. I

1020. want the antenna to go up and down. I

1021. want the windows to go up and down. I

1022. want the locks to go up and down. I want

1023. the trunk to open. I want buttons

  1024. everywhere. I want buttons I can't even

1025. figure out what they're for.

1026. I think it was probably $12,000. This is

  1027. 1974.

1028. Probably a new one was $12,000. Today

  1029. it'd be 112. I don't know what if you

  1030. could get them today.

1031. >> But I said, "Okay, God." You said, "You

  1032. still with me."

  1033. >> Yeah.

  1034. >> I I I'm scriptural. I What things soever

  1035. you desire, Lord? I des I desire I

1036. desire a brand new I don't want to use.

1037. Don't own brand new. Brand new Lincoln

  1038. Continental

  1039. MarkV.

  1040. New.

  1041. I believe I receive it.

1042. I believe I receive it. Thank you,

1043. Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you. The

1044. next three or four days, I kept waiting

1045. for a knock on the door. Where's my car?

1046. I'm believing God. I put my faith on

1047. that. I'm believing God for this thing.

1048. I I want the keys and I want the title.

1049. Where's my car? I kept looking out the

  1050. window. Where's my car? I believe I

1051. received it when I prayed. Man, I got I

1052. got this thing. I tell you what, I got

  1053. this. I got this. I I got this.

1054. Well, next week, Brother Hagen has

1055. another guest speaker in. Okay. Some

1056. guy, some new newcomer named Kenneth

  1057. Copeland.

1058. And he's in there doing morning and

1059. night teaching there. Students in the

1060. morning, open to the public at night,

1061. teaching on Jesus, our Jubilee. Amazing.

1062. wonderful week. And he's just going

1063. along, you know, and all a sudden he

1064. stops morning service. He says, "You

  1065. students,"

1066. he says, "you students," he said, "I'm

1067. going to help you today. You don't start

1068. out believing God for oil wells and

  1069. Lincoln Continentals."

  1070. [laughter]

1071. Who does this guy think he is?

  1072. God,

  1073. >> I don't know who this guy is, but he's

1074. not going to hurt my faith. No,

1075. I've never had a chance to tell him

1076. about that. He'd probably appreciate

  1077. that.

1078. >> He said, "You students," he said, "you

1079. don't start out believing God for oil

  1080. wells and Lincoln Continentals.

1081. You start out believing God for a new

1082. pair of socks and then you work your way

  1083. up."

  1084. I don't know. I don't know if I believe

  1085. that or not.

1086. So, I got a little miffed and I went

1087. back to my apartment. I thought, "Who's

1088. this? Who's this guy think he is? I'm

1089. still looking for my Lincoln."

1090. But the I sat there and I I'm ready to

1091. go over to work. I sat there and I

1092. thought, you know, you know, I said,

1093. "God, this was really kind of unique on

1094. the fact that you sent him here." And of

1095. all things he could have said in class

1096. this morning, everything he could have

1097. said, he he could have said a lot of

1098. things, but he said, "You don't start

1099. out believing God for well, I'm not on

1100. the oil wells yet, but you don't start

1101. out believing God for oil wells and

1102. link." How did he know I was believing

1103. for Lincoln Continental? Or at least I

1104. was wanting one. I said, "Lord, I'll

  1105. tell you what. Let's make a deal. I'm

1106. going to believe you sent him. I'm going

1107. to believe you anointed him. I'm going

1108. to believe you told him to say that. I'm

1109. just going to lean back and and I I tell

1110. you what, Lord. The s the thing is I'm

1111. looking for the Lincoln, but I need some

  1112. socks

  1113. [laughter]

1114. and I didn't have the money for them. I

1115. mean, I wasn't making much over at the

  1116. service station.

  1117. I said, "I'll tell you what, Lord. Let's

1118. work a deal here. Let's take that

1119. Lincoln and let's just put that on the

1120. shelf over here." Which, by the way,

  1121. it's still there.

  1122. It's a lot older, 50 years down the

1123. road. I said, "Let's take that link and

1124. put that on the shelf. Let's go back

1125. talk about those socks he's talking

1126. about." Lord, you know, honestly, I

1127. said, 'I really could use some new

  1128. socks.

1129. So, I tell you what, I'm going to

1130. believe that he You sent him and told

1131. him to say that. And I said, I'll tell

1132. you what, skip the Lincoln for now.

1133. Let's go back to Lord. I need a brand

1134. new, which by the way, I don't need any.

1135. So, don't go get them and drop them off

  1136. the church.

1137. [laughter] Said, I could use some socks.

1138. I tell you what, Lord. I need I need

1139. some brand new navy blue socks.

  1140. That's an easy order. I believe I

1141. received my thank you form. I got my

1142. faith locked on that. Big difference

1143. between a Lincoln Continental and a pair

1144. of socks. 12,000 down to 89 cents.

1145. So, so for a week, I'm looking for my

1146. socks. Waiting for my socks. Four weeks

  1147. waiting for my socks.

1148. Two months waiting for my socks.

1149. Look in the mail. No socks.

  1150. Three months,

1151. one quarter of a year for an 89 cent

1152. pair of socks. And I'm still waiting on

  1153. a Lincoln Continental. I I think not.

  1154. Anyway, anyway, I'm going, Lord, I

  1155. believe I received when I prayed. I

  1156. believe I received when I believe I

  1157. received when I prayed. I believe I

1158. received when I prayed. And I thought,

1159. "Dear Lord, if I didn't have faith for

1160. an 89 cent pair of socks, what would we

1161. have done with a Lincoln?"

1162. And one day, here comes a little package

1163. through the mail. I open it up. To this

  1164. day, I don't I don't even remember where

1165. it came from. Open up this and there's

1166. two two uh you know, nice dress shirts

1167. uh in the box and across the top there's

1168. a pair of brand new navy blue socks.

  1169. >> You know, I I I don't even know where

  1170. the shirts went.

1171. I grabbed those socks, held them up in

1172. the air, I said, "God, on to bigger and

  1173. better things."

  1174. >> Hallelujah.

1175. >> But I began to understand at that point

1176. that it's not a matter of when you pray,

1177. believe you receive it. It's not cart

1178. blanch. It's not across the board. It's

1179. locating where your faith is at.

1180. >> What can you believe? And you know,

  1181. well, that's No, that's not difficult.

1182. Trust me, when you're in the faith

1183. thing, sometimes you look on the inside.

1184. We covered this a couple weeks ago. I'll

1185. take a couple minutes here and I'll be

1186. done. We we covered this a few weeks

  1187. ago. Sometimes

  1188. um you you're needing maybe you're

1189. needing a miracle in your body. But if

1190. you look way down in your nowhere and

  1191. sometimes your knower says

1192. says that's not where you need to put

1193. your faith. You need to you need to mix

1194. you need to mix medicine and and faith.

1195. You need to mix the anointing and mix

1196. the two together and get results there.

1197. The problem we've we you know we get so

1198. stuck on something we we get like a

1199. bulldog. We get stuck on something when

1200. what we should do is go back. What have

1201. you got in your gut? What do you What do

1202. you have in your knower? Works, doesn't

  1203. it?

  1204. >> Yeah.

  1205. >> Prime example.

1206. >> Running, jumping, dancing, shouting. Got

1207. a got a major miracle by mixing medical

1208. science and the anointing. That's

  1209. >> right.

  1210. >> Okay. You know, I mean, I went through a

1211. few things a few weeks ago myself. I

1212. knew to I Yeah. Do I want to Did I want

1213. to just believe God for it? Something

1214. was going on. I knew I needed to mix the

1215. two. Am I glad I did? Yeah, I'm pretty

1216. glad I did. Okay. Okay. Is is Well,

1217. isn't that kind of second best? First

1218. best is to get results.

1219. >> First best is just get results.

1220. >> Well, it's going to hurt my faith and

  1221. no, no, don't don't don't be messing

1222. with all that stuff. Just get better.

1223. >> Just get better. Find what it is. Look

1224. down on the inside. And if you're ready

1225. to jump out and believe God for such and

1226. such a thing, check on the inside. Say,

1227. "Lord, I need to look on the inside and

1228. see, am I really there? Is my faith

  1229. there?

1230. >> Is my faith there?

  1231. >> Goodness. I mean, I'll give you another

1232. quick example. Uh, I worked for Brother

1233. Hagen after I finished Rama, traveled

1234. for about a year, a little over a year,

1235. and um, and then had the opportunity to

1236. go to Colorado, be youth pastor. Well, I

1237. moved up there. Brother Hagen said, he

1238. said, you know, you have to understand,

1239. we got a school going. We're traveling

1240. on the road. We're doing four camp

1241. meetings this year. He said, you know,

1242. he said, I can't pay you much.

  1243. I can't pay you much. I can't I can't

1244. pay you a lot. I'll give you enough to

  1245. get by.

1246. Says, I'll give you enough to get by and

1247. give you a place to live. So Doug Jones,

1248. who's works at Raymond now. So Doug and

1249. I, we got to move in. We moved into the

1250. Hagens extra bedroom. God bless the

1251. Hagens. Oh my goodness. There's crowns

1252. in heaven for putting up with Doug.

  1253. Anyway,

  1254. [laughter]

1255. I'm probably going to hear about that.

1256. No, seriously. Long story. Anyway, said

1257. we we can't we we made we we did four

1258. meetings that year and we made a $100 a

1259. meeting. So, we made $100 a month. Well,

1260. you you know, you're going to get rich

  1261. on that.

  1262. But I didn't I never told Brother Hagen.

1263. I said, "I'd have paid you to go to work

1264. for you. You didn't have to pay me

1265. anything." So, anyway, but I never told

  1266. him that. now.

1267. Um, so, so when I when I moved up to

1268. Colorado, my pay increased. Not hugely,

1269. but it did increase. I think I was

1270. making like $500 a month or something

1271. like that. It did increase. I I make

1272. [laughter] I was paid almost what I was

1273. worth, more than what I was worth

1274. anyway. So, um, so 13 months down the

1275. road, the Holy Ghost spoke to my heart

1276. one day and said, "You need to go back

1277. to Tulsa. You need to go back to work

1278. for Brother Hagen." Well, I called him

1279. up and said, "Got a job for him." He

1280. goes, "Talk to the pastor. Tell him

1281. you're leaving. If he says it's okay,

  1282. call me." Integrity.

  1283. >> He He didn't offer me a job.

1284. >> He didn't offer me a job. He said, "You

1285. talk to the pastor. He needs you. You

1286. work for him. Talk to him. If he says

1287. it's okay, you call me back." I love

1288. integrity. I love I love ethics and

  1289. integrity.

  1290. >> So, anyway, so I said, "Okay." So, I I

1291. talked to the pastor. He said, "I

  1292. understand. I I get that. I I see the

1293. hand of God on you for some things and

1294. yeah, I'm with you. So, I called Brother

1295. Hagen back and he said, "I really don't

1296. need you." I thought, "Now, that'll help

  1297. your ego.

  1298. I really don't need you, but I'll tell

  1299. you, if you're coming, I'll make a place

1300. for you, but I can't pay you probably

1301. what you're making up there in that

1302. church." I said, "I'm not coming for

1303. money. I'm not coming for money. I gave

1304. up on that idea when I went to Bible

1305. school. I'm not in this for the money.

1306. I'm in this for the will of God." He

1307. said, "Well, if you'll come, I'll give

1308. you enough to get by. You can move back

1309. into with us again." And I said, "Oo,

  1310. good deal." Now,

1311. so anyway, so I moved back down. Problem

  1312. was, I went from I went from $500 a

  1313. month to $100 a month. It's great except

1314. it's really easy to increase your

1315. expenditures. It's hard to decrease your

  1316. expenditures.

  1317. >> Yeah.

1318. >> So, I thought, well, I'm going to have

1319. to get on my faith again. Okay, Lord. I

  1320. need I need an extra $200 a month. I

  1321. believe I receive. All of a sudden, I

  1322. thought, it's not working. I don't, you

1323. know, I don't know where my faith is. I

1324. was working I didn't have to use my

1325. faith to work in the church. I was I was

1326. leaning on the pastor's faith.

1327. He believed the finances in. I just

  1328. spent the checks.

  1329. >> Yeah.

1330. >> Quiet on me there. Anyway,

  1331. >> so uh I said, "Lord, I don't I don't

  1332. understand all this. I I I I needed an

  1333. extra $200 a month, but I I don't have

1334. $200." This is a long time ago, folks. I

  1335. don't have $200 a month faith for it

1336. just to come out of nowhere. So, I said,

1337. "I'm backing it up. I'll tell you what.

1338. I'm going to start back there. Start

1339. small and work my way up. I said, "Lord,

  1340. I believe I received $5 extra a month."

  1341. >> $5. Well, that's nothing. Well, not to

1342. you, but it was to me.

1343. >> Okay. Back in those days, it was it was

1344. an extra Coca-Cola or something, you

  1345. know, or a gall

1346. five gallons of gas. Anyway, so, you

1347. know, went about two weeks and all a

1348. sudden, man, all a sudden $5 came into

  1349. my hands. Woo! Man, I got $5 I got $5 a

1350. month face. Let's jump it to 10. Jumped

1351. it to 10. About two weeks time, I got

1352. 10. Woo. Let's jump it to 25. Jumped it

  1353. to 25. Within a couple weeks time, 25

1354. came in from who knows where. I said,

1355. "As long as that, as long as it keeps

1356. coming, I'm going to keep stretching."

  1357. >> Come on now.

1358. >> And within a couple months time, I was

1359. believing God for an extra $200 a month

1360. to come in from who knows where. And it

1361. would come in from the strangest places.

  1362. It wasn't my paycheck. It wasn't what I

1363. got at work. I'm telling you, God would

1364. do. Angels would go bring it in. And I

1365. saw God bring it. And I went from 5 to

  1366. 10 to 25 to 50 up to 100 up to 200. And

1367. we're down the road and it's a whole lot

1368. bigger now than it was back then.

  1369. >> Amen.

  1370. >> I'd like those $5 days again. But

1371. anyway, anyway, what I'm saying is your

1372. faith grows exceedingly. If you'll use

  1373. it, it will grow.

  1374. >> That's right.

1375. >> If you'll plant it, stretch it, it will

  1376. grow.

1377. >> Don't get discouraged by trying to

1378. stretch it way out here to some

1379. astronomical something. This is faith

1380. promise time. Let God give you a number.

1381. Plant your faith on it. Yeah.

1382. >> And if it comes in the first week,

  1383. stretch it out.

  1384. >> If you if you're believing God for $5 a

1385. month for your faith promise and it

1386. comes in in the first three days,

  1387. stretch it to 10.

1388. >> Always always keep your faith stretched

1389. out there. You stretch it, God will

1390. honor it. So anyway, we've gone long

1391. enough. Let's stand to our feet.

  1392. >> God.

1393. >> Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank

1394. you so much. Thank you, Father, for the

  1395. truth of missions.

1396. >> Thank you, dear Father. this gospel of

1397. the kingdom shall be preached in all the

1398. world for witness to every nation. Then

1399. the end's going to come. We get to have

1400. part of we we get to have part in the

1401. end by helping to get the gospel around

1402. the world. We can't do the whole thing,

1403. but we can we can it's like how do you

1404. eat an elephant one bite at a time? We

1405. can we can take a bite out of that

1406. thing. We can we can use our faith and

1407. trust you. Lord, I'm asking you in this

1408. house to give everybody a number. Give

1409. them a number. Give them a figure. If it

1410. doesn't make them sweat a little bit, it

1411. probably didn't come from you. Okay? I

1412. know numbers you give us, they'll get

1413. make you persspire a little bit. But

1414. dear Lord, I ask you, give everybody in

1415. here over the next week or two, give

1416. everybody a number. And when they lock

1417. their faith on that, they will see

1418. almighty God move heaven and earth to

1419. get that number to them. It's not just

1420. about missions. It's about uh ex

  1421. expanding our faith.

1422. expanding our faith to reach the

1423. unreached, tell the untold, teach the

1424. untaught. And we thank you for it. I I

1425. thank you for this church, Father, in

1426. the name of Jesus. I thank you, Lord.

1427. Whatever we believe for, we'll get it.

1428. Whatever we agree on, it'll come to pass

1429. because this is a church full of faith

1430. giants, even if they don't know it. And

1431. I thank you for it in the wonderful name

1432. of Jesus. Dear Father, hallelujah.

1433. >> Thank you for joining us today. We're so

1434. glad you tuned in. Before we go, we want

1435. to give you an opportunity to sew. We

1436. know the importance of giving back to

1437. God and he watches [music] over his word

1438. to perform it in our lives. He said, "I

1439. am the God that will meet all of your

1440. needs according to my riches and glory."

1441. And so, as we give today, mix [music]

1442. your faith with it. The ways to give are

1443. on the screen. And so, we're going to

1444. just uh give you that opportunity. But

1445. again, we [music] want to say thank you

1446. for joining us and we will see you soon

  1447. in the house.
