  1. But I'll say this before he left

  2. on Monday morning, supposedly

  3. [clears throat] Sunday afternoon, Monday

  4. morning. I'm driving him to the airport

  5. and he says, "Now, the weather they're

  6. saying, whoever they are, that we could

  7. have some bad you could have some bad

  8. weather in Oklahoma towards the end of

  9. the week." I said, "Well,

  10. nope, nope, nope, not going to do it.

  11. You know me and weather, I don't like

  12. weather. Nope, not going to have that."

  13. So I said, "Well, if it comes, I'm going

  14. to tell you what to do. Just go in that

  15. tornado safe room we have in the

  16. garage."

  17. And I looked at him I said, "I'll go in

  18. the hall bathroom before I go in that

  19. tornado safe room.

  20. I have spent a hurricane I'm not a

  21. hurricane see I grew up on the Gulf

  22. Coast. A tornado in that bathroom with

  23. my granddaughter years ago and my 110 lb

  24. dog. We were all in this little tiny

  25. half bath, not a full bath, tiny half

  26. bath on the floor singing, singing,

  27. worshiping, praising God." So I said,

  28. "I'll just go in the half bath." He

  29. says, "What is wrong with you?" I said,

  30. "Didn't you have a tornado safe room in

  31. the garage?" I said, "Yeah, but I've

  32. never gone in it by myself and I don't

  33. know if I can get out and no one would

  34. find me for days."

  35. Yeah.

  36. We were in it one time years ago with

  37. Tom and Judy. They would come down to

  38. visit from Michigan and a tornado siren

  39. went off in the middle of the night so

  40. we'd wake them up. So we all four and my

  41. Cherokee and my dog all went in that

  42. safe room and it was really

  43. close quarters but my husband was there.

  44. So it was like, you know, it's okay.

  45. So yesterday, so my best friend from

  46. Iowa, I'm telling you this story, you'll

  47. love it. My best friend from Iowa did a

  48. surprise visit. She is my bestie. We are

  49. like twins separated at birth. Our

  50. husbands say we share a brain.

  51. I'm not sure that's a compliment.

  52. We laugh at the same things. We get we

  53. don't get the same jokes. We you know,

  54. and we laugh at nothing. We laugh until

  55. we hurt. It's So she

  56. texted me and said, "I'm coming into

  57. town to see you." I'm like, "Oh, great."

  58. So she got in about midnight, stayed

  59. with her daughter in a hotel on Thursday

  60. night but I picked her up Friday

  61. morning. So we had literally one day

  62. together. She left yesterday to go back

  63. to Iowa. It was just a

  64. it was a a random trip that her

  65. daughter-in-law was making and said,

  66. "Why don't I take you to go see your

  67. bestie?" So it was the best thing that

  68. could have happened. So she shows up. So

  69. yesterday morning we sat

  70. uh Friday morning we sat and had coffee

  71. and talked talked talked talked talked

  72. talked till about noon. And then we

  73. said, "Let's go shopping."

  74. So of course what do you do? You go

  75. shopping. So I wanted to take her to the

  76. Woodland Mall but you know, the weather

  77. was looking kind of iffy, cloudy, yucky.

  78. I said, "We don't need to go to the

  79. Woodland Mall and get soaking wet. So

  80. let's let's go to let's go to Tulsa

  81. Hills. That's a pretty cool place. I

  82. like Tulsa Hills." So she says, "I'm

  83. with you wherever you want to go." So we

  84. went to Tulsa Hills, we shopped until we

  85. about dropped. So we ate lunch at

  86. Cracker Barrel. We're having amazing We

  87. are cramming everything in we can cram

  88. in 24 hours. And so

  89. so mid-afternoon my I pick up my phone

  90. and it is blowing up with texts from

  91. Brandy, my niece, saying, "Where are

  92. you? Where are you? What are you doing?"

  93. I'm like, "We're shopping."

  94. And she goes, "Get home now. There's a

  95. tornado headed towards Tulsa Hills." I'm

  96. like, "What? What?" So I said, "Peggy,

  97. we have to leave the store now. We have

  98. to leave the store." She says, "Why?"

  99. And I said, "There's a tornado headed to

  100. Tulsa Hills. So let's get in our car and

  101. let's go." So we go out the door of the

  102. store and I'm like, "Run."

  103. No exaggeration. This is why my husband

  104. was really glad she came while he was

  105. gone.

  106. So we're running across the parking lot

  107. of in Tulsa Hills. We get in our car and

  108. I

  109. I'm saying, [laughter]

  110. "Okay, I'm going to drive. I'm going to

  111. drive fast." So so I'm driving I'm

  112. saying She says, "What are you doing?" I

  113. said, "I'm trying to watch the clouds."

  114. She goes, "Let me watch the clouds. You

  115. drive." I said, "Okay, okay, okay." So

  116. we got home. We ran inside the house. I

  117. said, "Okay, we're good." So I'm telling

  118. her on the way, "Okay, we have a we have

  119. a storm shelter in our garage. It's a

  120. it's a safe room and we're going to get

  121. there. We're going to go grab a pillow

  122. and a blanket and grab our water and

  123. maybe a snack cuz you don't know how

  124. long you're going to be in there."

  125. [laughter]

  126. She goes, "Okay, I'm with you. I'm good.

  127. We're very I mean, it's going to be

  128. okay." So all the way while we're

  129. driving home I forgot the most important

  130. part. We are quoting Psalms 91.

  131. So we weren't just letting fear dominate

  132. us. We were overcoming fear.

  133. We were quoting Psalms 91 at the top of

  134. our lungs.

  135. You have said you'd give your angels

  136. charge over us to keep us in all our

  137. ways. So [laughter]

  138. we are quoting the word, man. And so we

  139. get we walk in the house and so I said,

  140. "You go to your you go get your stuff.

  141. I'll get my stuff." And she goes, "I

  142. have to potty." I said, "I do too. We

  143. have to potty cuz there's no potty in

  144. the storm shelter." So

  145. I feel like I love Lucy.

  146. I'm not sure she's Lucy or Ethel but

  147. either way we are I love Lucy, Lucy and

  148. Ethel. So we go out there and we're

  149. standing in front of the door and I

  150. said, "Okay,

  151. I said, "I don't I just want to make

  152. sure we can get out." She's like,

  153. "What?"

  154. >> [laughter]

  155. >> I said, "I'm going to go in

  156. >> [laughter]

  157. >> I didn't even think about it till later.

  158. I'm like, "Oh, I left you in the

  159. garage."

  160. >> [laughter]

  161. >> I said, "I'm going to go in this the

  162. safe room. You stand outside the door

  163. and let's just make sure we can get out.

  164. That way if I can't get out you can let

  165. me out." She said, "Whatever." So I go

  166. in. She goes, "Are you in there?" I

  167. said, "Yeah, are you out there?" She

  168. goes, "Yes." I said, "Okay." She says,

  169. "Well, come out." And I said, "I don't

  170. know how." She says, "Push." So I pushed

  171. the door and the door opened. So I said,

  172. "Okay, we're good." So we went in there.

  173. Pastor had these little chairs in the

  174. bag, you know, the bag chairs. So we

  175. opened them up and we sat we sat She

  176. says, "Let's sit by each other." And

  177. it's only I mean, let's just say the

  178. chairs were half folded up but we were

  179. sitting in them next to each other and

  180. we had a bunt cake with us because we

  181. had bought a bunt cake. Let's take our

  182. bunt cake in there with us.

  183. >> [laughter]

  184. >> I don't know how long we were in there.

  185. We were in there for probably 30 to 45

  186. minutes. The alarm the sirens were still

  187. going. All this time the sirens had not

  188. stopped. She goes, "So So when will

  189. those stop?" I said, "I guess they stop

  190. when the tornado's not here." So

  191. Brandy's text I'm text I had no Wi-Fi. I

  192. couldn't get any you know, any

  193. radar to see what was happening and so

  194. she text me at one point. She goes,

  195. "It's clear." And I said, "Oh, no, our

  196. sirens are still going. We're not coming

  197. out." So we had real close sisterly time

  198. together in that shelter.

  199. But we overcame our fear. I overcame my

  200. fear of the storm shelter. Now I know I

  201. can get in and I know how to get out. So

  202. I will never again be afraid to go in

  203. the tornado shelter. So you know,

  204. I know that's huge for me, huge. I

  205. overcame my fear. So guess what guess

  206. what I was already preparing. I was you

  207. know, actually I would I was home taking

  208. a healing on Wednesday night. This was

  209. the direction I was going to go

  210. Wednesday night I thought. So then

  211. Thursday um I was I was preparing for

  212. this morning cuz I thought, "Well, I

  213. didn't you know, of course he changed

  214. everything, you know, I just love it

  215. when that happens." I looked at my notes

  216. and I thought, "These make absolutely no

  217. sense."

  218. Like I have no idea. What what? So I

  219. threw them out the window, started all

  220. over but I know that I know I have what

  221. the Holy Ghost wants me to deliver this

  222. morning and it had nothing to do. I

  223. already had all this before all of that

  224. happened with the tornado

  225. um that ended up not coming towards

  226. Tulsa Hills. It kind of over but I do

  227. know it hit some other places. But you

  228. know what? You got to know what to do

  229. and you got to know how to overcome fear

  230. when it tries to hit you.

  231. And I that is what I want to share with

  232. you this morning. You know, we are

  233. living in a day where there are so many

  234. opportunities to fear. Everything from

  235. the war in the Middle East to potential

  236. sleeper cells in America. You know, you

  237. don't want to read too many headlines or

  238. listen too much too much stuff because

  239. all that does is instill fear in you.

  240. And so um

  241. in fact in Luke 21 it says that men's

  242. hearts will fail them

  243. because of fear.

  244. Isn't that interesting? That rose up in

  245. me when I was studying. Men's hearts

  246. will fail them because of fear

  247. of what's going on in the earth.

  248. And I thought, "Well, you know what?

  249. That does not have to be us.

  250. Our hearts do not have to fail us

  251. because we can learn how to overcome

  252. fear in any and every situation."

  253. So when we were preparing to go to

  254. Israel uh a few weeks ago

  255. uh Joe got a call from an ex-IDF Israeli

  256. friend

  257. that knew we were coming. Joe had text

  258. him and said, "Hey, we're coming. We'd

  259. love to see you." He called Joe and he

  260. said, "Um I just felt like I would be

  261. amiss if I didn't tell you what the

  262. general consensus is here." He's still

  263. very much connected to the military and

  264. he said,

  265. "The general consensus is that something

  266. is going to happen. Something is going

  267. to break out. War is going to break out

  268. in the next 5 to 20 days."

  269. And he said, "I just wanted you to know

  270. that before you came in case you come

  271. and it breaks out and I would feel

  272. horrible for not telling you." So Joe

  273. thanked him. He said, "So I suggest to

  274. He said I to Joe says, "I suggest you

  275. guys pray."

  276. Well, we had prayed.

  277. Beginning, we had peace but there was no

  278. threat of war when we started preparing

  279. to go, booking our tickets and all that.

  280. So we the three of us said, "Okay, let's

  281. pray. Let's just double check."

  282. So we prayed, three of us separately.

  283. The next day we came together and and we

  284. all three

  285. had absolutely no fear.

  286. No fear. Not even Sometimes there'll be

  287. thoughts hitting your head because fear

  288. hits your head. Fear comes as a thought.

  289. There was no fear. There were no

  290. thoughts.

  291. Just absolute calmness on the inside.

  292. And the Bible says he leads us forth by

  293. peace. So we knew it's okay, we're

  294. going.

  295. Everything's good. We were settled on

  296. it. No doubt, no fear. So we

  297. we were on our last leg, you know, that

  298. was the tour of Europe that we got to

  299. see

  300. free

  301. additional airports. Took us forever to

  302. get there. So on our last leg from

  303. Athens to Tel Aviv, we got on the plane

  304. and Joe sat next to our this young guy

  305. gets on and he calls over Joe. Joe's on

  306. the end, pastor's on across the aisle.

  307. We're I'm next to him and then Joe and

  308. then this guy, this young guy gets on

  309. the plane, sits down next to Joe.

  310. So they started talking, immediately.

  311. Talking, talking, talking, talking,

  312. talking and

  313. we're like, "Wow, they're having a good

  314. conversation. I think I'm just going to

  315. take myself a nap." So

  316. So they the entire flight they talked.

  317. And so at one point Joe leaned over to

  318. Mark across the aisle and he said,

  319. "You'll never believe the conversation

  320. I'm having." And I'm like, "Oh, wow,

  321. this is going to be exciting." So we get

  322. off at the plane and we're standing in

  323. line of passport control, getting ready

  324. to go through the security and all of

  325. that, which, you know, it's Israel. So

  326. they are taking their time checking

  327. everyone out and that's fine. We're

  328. great. So we're just standing there and

  329. so we're talking. He said, "So I need to

  330. tell you, I want to tell you my

  331. conversation." We said, "What What What

  332. is going on?" He said he is an American

  333. journalist

  334. that had been uh positioned in Iraq.

  335. He'd been in Iraq for some time. But he

  336. got a call that said, "Get out of Iraq

  337. ASAP. Go back to Israel."

  338. So he's on the flight going back to

  339. Israel.

  340. And he said they said that something is

  341. going to happen

  342. in 5 to 20 days. So this is the second

  343. time he's telling Joe this. So the next

  344. thing he says is, "So

  345. they're talking." He says, "Do you have

  346. He says to Joe, "Do you have an escape

  347. plan?"

  348. >> [laughter]

  349. >> Joe says, "Nope."

  350. He says, "Well, let me tell you what to

  351. do and where to go if something

  352. happens."

  353. So where he So So So Joe starts telling

  354. us He's telling us this whole

  355. conversation. And then when he said that

  356. about he asked if we had an escape plan,

  357. my eyebrows went up.

  358. An escape plan?

  359. He says, "Yeah." And he told us where to

  360. go and what to do. I'm like, "Okay."

  361. So I could feel fear.

  362. I'm just going to be really transparent

  363. with you today. You know, just cuz we're

  364. pastors doesn't mean we don't get to

  365. deal with what you get to deal with as

  366. well.

  367. So I could feel fear trying to grip me.

  368. And I But I recognized it right off. I

  369. thought, "Nope. No, you don't. No, you

  370. don't." And I looked and remember,

  371. reminded myself basically, of that

  372. supernatural calmness we had even when

  373. we had heard some of this news.

  374. There was a supernatural calm And so I'm

  375. like, "Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Not going

  376. to go that route. Not going to allow

  377. that fear to grip me."

  378. That peace of God keeps me. Peace of God

  379. keeps me. And I'm telling you it left

  380. like that.

  381. It never ever even hit me again. Never

  382. ever ever. So we From that moment on

  383. three of us started saying, "We will get

  384. in

  385. and we will get out.

  386. We will get in and we I can't tell you

  387. how many times we said it because our

  388. faith was in the fact that we knew we

  389. were in the middle of God will of God

  390. and he will keep us when we're in the

  391. middle of the will of God. He got us in

  392. and he got us out."

  393. So we were very glad to And then the war

  394. hit. We came home, it hit a week later.

  395. So we got in and we got out. But the

  396. fear The fear will come. It will try to

  397. hit you It will come in the form of

  398. thoughts.

  399. I'll just tell you that. So what do we

  400. do? We deal with it.

  401. We deal with it.

  402. I started reading in the the stories of

  403. Jesus in in the New Testament. You know,

  404. the disciples were with Jesus day in and

  405. day out. They had opportunities to fear.

  406. You know, you think it's just a fear is

  407. something that's, you know, this we're

  408. the day we live in. Yeah, we have

  409. opportunities, but they had

  410. opportunities. They had opportunities to

  411. fear, to either get into fear or to

  412. overcome fear.

  413. Imagine being a disciple.

  414. You're with them every day, day in and

  415. out.

  416. You're hearing the teachings. You are

  417. eyewitnessing first hand the miracles.

  418. The blind eyes open. The deaf ears open.

  419. The raising of the dead.

  420. The man paralyzed coming down from the

  421. the roof down into the middle of the

  422. room and the man instantly paralyzed,

  423. instantly healed. These guys were

  424. witnesses to all of that.

  425. But on this particular day

  426. Jesus was sitting on a boat in a boat

  427. on the lake

  428. and the the multitude was on the shore.

  429. He was just offshore because there were

  430. so many people. They would just like

  431. almost try to crush him. So the Bible

  432. says he was sitting in a boat just off

  433. the shore teaching this multitude of

  434. people.

  435. And the book of Mark records this event

  436. this way.

  437. As evening came, Jesus said to the

  438. disciples,

  439. "Let us cross to the other side of the

  440. lake."

  441. So they took Jesus in the boat and

  442. started out

  443. >> [clears throat]

  444. >> leaving the crowds behind, although

  445. other boats followed.

  446. But soon a fierce storm came up. High

  447. waves were breaking into the boat and it

  448. began to fill with water.

  449. Jesus was sleeping at the back of the

  450. boat with his head on a cushion. The

  451. disciples woke him up shouting,

  452. "Teacher, don't you even care they were

  453. going down, drowned, going to drown?"

  454. When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind.

  455. He said to the waves, "Be still."

  456. Suddenly the wind stopped and there was

  457. a great calm.

  458. Then he asked them, "Why are you afraid?

  459. Do you still have no faith?"

  460. Jesus always taught by example.

  461. And he demonstrated what to do when fear

  462. comes. What did he do? He rebuked the

  463. wind and he spoke, "Peace, be still."

  464. to the waves. In other words, he used

  465. his authority.

  466. He used his authority and dealt with the

  467. circumstances that caused the fear.

  468. I'll say that again. He used his

  469. authority and dealt with the

  470. circumstances that caused the fear.

  471. Jesus said to the disciples, "Why are

  472. you afraid? Do you still have no faith?"

  473. He connected their fear to a lack of

  474. faith.

  475. What did he say? He said to them, "Let's

  476. get in the boat and let's go to the

  477. other side." He did not say, "Let's see

  478. if we can go to the other side." He said

  479. He did not say, "Let's hope and pray

  480. we'll make it to the other side." No. He

  481. said, "Let's go to the other side."

  482. How does that apply to us today?

  483. When opportunities come for us to fear,

  484. we do exactly what Jesus did and we put

  485. faith in what he's already said to us.

  486. What has he said? He said, "Behold, I

  487. give you authority."

  488. Jesus had authority, but what about us?

  489. He said, "Behold, I give you authority

  490. to trample on serpents and scorpions and

  491. over all the power of the enemy and

  492. nothing shall by any means hurt you."

  493. Jesus gave us authority over all the

  494. power of the enemy, but we have to use

  495. our authority. It doesn't do us any good

  496. if we never use it. He says, "I've given

  497. you the authority over all the power of

  498. the enemy. Nothing shall be by any means

  499. hurt you." When we use our authority, we

  500. can deal with the circumstances that are

  501. causing the fear.

  502. So let's look at another story of Jesus

  503. teaching the disciples how

  504. to overcome fear.

  505. Jesus had just finished doing

  506. feeding of the 5,000.

  507. And he told his disciples, "Go ahead,

  508. get in the boat, go to the other side.

  509. I'm going to go up on the mountain and

  510. pray. I'll catch up with you later."

  511. So they did and Matthew's record

  512. recorded this event. He said, "Between

  513. This is the God's

  514. word translation. He said, "Between 3:00

  515. and 6:00

  516. He was walking on the sea.

  517. When the disciples saw him walking on

  518. the sea, they were terrified.

  519. They said, "It's a ghost." and began to

  520. scream because they were afraid.

  521. Immediately Jesus said, "Calm down. It's

  522. me. Don't be afraid."

  523. Peter answered, "Lord, if it's you,

  524. order me to come to you on the water."

  525. And Jesus said, "Come."

  526. So Peter got out of the boat, walked on

  527. the water towards Jesus.

  528. But when he noticed how strong the wind

  529. was,

  530. he became afraid and he started to sink.

  531. And he shouted, "Lord, save me."

  532. Immediately Jesus reached out, caught

  533. hold of him and said, "You have so

  534. little faith.

  535. Why did you doubt?"

  536. I have a feeling that Peter and Jesus

  537. had a nice little faith talk on the way

  538. back to the boat.

  539. But let's look at this closer. You know,

  540. often times Peter is remembered as the

  541. one that tried to walk on the water and

  542. failed.

  543. But stop and think about it. Peter was

  544. the only one.

  545. The only one

  546. that had enough faith to step out of the

  547. boat. He stepped out on one word,

  548. "Come."

  549. But then Peter got distracted.

  550. He saw the effects of the wind and what

  551. was happening around him and he took his

  552. focus off Jesus.

  553. He took his focus off Jesus

  554. and he became afraid. And the minute he

  555. became afraid, he began to sink.

  556. But he did not He did not sink until he

  557. noticed what was going on around him.

  558. God is attention off on the

  559. circumstances,

  560. on the symptoms, on the pain. He lost

  561. his focus.

  562. When we When he lost his focus,

  563. he also lost his focus on the word,

  564. "Come."

  565. That word that had been spoken to him.

  566. Fear

  567. disguised itself

  568. as doubt.

  569. And Peter doubted the ability of the

  570. word, "Come,"

  571. to be able to keep him from drowning.

  572. Fear gripped him, and he began to sink.

  573. When we read these stories in the Bible,

  574. we we must remember that these disciples

  575. were real people.

  576. They're This is not a fairy tale. These

  577. are not makeup make-believe people or

  578. makeup stories. These are real things

  579. that happened in the in in the Bible.

  580. These are real stories, and they're in

  581. there for a purpose.

  582. For us to learn from them.

  583. We cannot allow ourselves

  584. to doubt the ability of the word working

  585. in our lives.

  586. Doubt is a disguise for fear. Every word

  587. that's been spoken, every word that's

  588. been spoken by God to us is enough to

  589. keep us walking on the water, whether

  590. it's in the area of healing, whether

  591. it's in the area of having our needs

  592. met, whatever it is,

  593. his word will keep us walking out a

  594. miracle.

  595. All we have to do

  596. is believe it.

  597. Peter did not sink until he got his eyes

  598. off the word

  599. and became afraid.

  600. Fear

  601. Fear pulled him under like an undertow

  602. current.

  603. You ever been in

  604. swimming in the Gulf of Mexico and

  605. encountered an undertow current current?

  606. They're very real. I can remember as a

  607. little girl I was we were at the beach.

  608. We lived in Pensacola, and my mom and my

  609. aunt taken us um It was It was just me

  610. at the time. I don't think my sister was

  611. even born, so I was really little or she

  612. was a baby. Anyway, they were uh

  613. her two kids and and me and my sister.

  614. We were swimming at the beach,

  615. and all of a sudden undertow current

  616. moved in,

  617. and it got hold to my cousin, who was a

  618. couple years older than me, and she

  619. started She start She couldn't get back.

  620. She couldn't She couldn't She was It was

  621. carrying her under.

  622. I remember my aunt my aunt started to

  623. jump in, but she couldn't swim.

  624. So, my mom jumped in

  625. and saved my cousin's life because that

  626. undertow current The purpose of it is to

  627. take you under and drown you.

  628. Fear is like an undercoat undertow

  629. current. It will endeavor to pull you

  630. under

  631. and cause you to drown.

  632. But faith

  633. rescued him.

  634. Faith rescued Peter. Over and over Jesus

  635. said, "Fear not, only believe. Fear not,

  636. only believe." Believe what? Believe

  637. what he said to us. Believe who he said

  638. we are, what he's made us to be. The

  639. choice is ours.

  640. We make the choice.

  641. Fear focuses on the problem.

  642. Faith focuses on God.

  643. Fear

  644. believes what Satan says.

  645. Faith believes what God says.

  646. Fear is an enemy to our faith. It is

  647. designed Listen to this. Fear is

  648. designed to keep our faith from working.

  649. That's the whole purpose of fear, to

  650. keep your faith from working. And also,

  651. fear will paralyze us.

  652. It will paralyze us. I remember as a kid

  653. growing up with a fear of big dogs.

  654. I was just little. My sister was 5 years

  655. younger, so she was probably maybe 5. I

  656. I might have been 10. I can still

  657. remember. We would go ride in our

  658. bicycles in our neighborhood, and and

  659. time and time and time again there was

  660. this German Shepherd

  661. that would run loose in our

  662. neighborhood, and every time we went out

  663. to ride our bicycles, he would come out

  664. of nowhere and start chasing us. Well,

  665. my sister would pedal as fast as she

  666. can. She would be like a block down the

  667. road. I, on the other hand, pair got

  668. paralyzed with fear. I would stop.

  669. And I thought, "If If I don't move,

  670. maybe he won't eat me."

  671. And my sister She'd yell, "Janet, what

  672. are you doing? Come on. Come on." And I

  673. couldn't move.

  674. Fear paralyzed me.

  675. But that fear of dogs carried over to

  676. boxers.

  677. My best friend had a boxer.

  678. Her name was Duchess.

  679. And my best friend had a playhouse in

  680. her backyard. So, anytime I would go

  681. over there, we would be inside, and then

  682. we would go we would go and play in her

  683. playhouse. And I can remember I would

  684. stand at the door

  685. watching for Duchess.

  686. And then I would run as fast as I could

  687. to get in her playhouse.

  688. I had a fear.

  689. A fear gripped me.

  690. A fear of big dogs.

  691. So, years went by. You know, I was Years

  692. went by, and I had I never even saw any

  693. boxers as an adult. I was like, "This is

  694. good. This is great. Boxers can stay

  695. wherever they are. I'm good."

  696. What's so funny is, you know, traveling

  697. the first 20 years of our marriage, we

  698. didn't have pets.

  699. But when we started the church, uh my

  700. niece Brandy and I decided that we

  701. needed a dog.

  702. Not just any dog.

  703. I was open to I I mean, I wanted one of

  704. these little cute foo-foo dogs

  705. that I could put in a handbag and carry

  706. on the plane.

  707. That was Pastor Mark's greatest fear.

  708. >> [laughter]

  709. >> He says, "You ever notice that the

  710. ladies that get on the plane with those

  711. foo-foo dogs in a purse, there's never a

  712. husband with them."

  713. >> [laughter]

  714. >> I said, "That's true. You have a very

  715. good point there."

  716. So, we ended up finding this ad

  717. Actually, he found the ad, and I've

  718. reminded him that through the years, of

  719. this these dogs in Collinsville on this

  720. farm that they were basically giving

  721. away, and they were Great Pyrenees.

  722. Well, if any of you know a Great

  723. Pyrenees, they grow really big. Ours

  724. grew to 150 lb.

  725. But let's just say yeah, I overcame my

  726. fear of big dogs.

  727. So, yeah. So, then we downsized, and we

  728. got a Newfoundland when when Dakota went

  729. to heaven. We got a Newfoundland. She

  730. was only 110 lb.

  731. So, we're we're moving in the right

  732. direction. My sister's like, "What in

  733. the world is you with big dogs?" I said,

  734. "I have overcome my fear of big dogs.

  735. I have big dogs." So, now we've

  736. downsized again, and and Atlas is only

  737. Well, we had to put her put him on a

  738. diet, but now he's like

  739. >> [laughter]

  740. >> 50

  741. 50 close I don't even know. 55 lb. I

  742. think he's too skinny. I need to give

  743. him some treats, but anyway.

  744. Maybe that's why he got gained weight.

  745. I'm not sure. But But we've downsized

  746. every year. However, we moved about I

  747. don't know, maybe 8 years ago to a

  748. another house in another neighborhood,

  749. and um lo and behold,

  750. our next door neighbor

  751. next door neighbor

  752. had a boxer.

  753. I thought, "You have got to be kidding

  754. me. Of all the neighborhoods and houses,

  755. I am going to live next door to a

  756. boxer?"

  757. So, I was fine as long as she stayed

  758. behind her fence,

  759. and I stayed in our yard.

  760. The two will never meet.

  761. So, this one time I was backing out of

  762. the driveway,

  763. pulled out, and when I looked, I saw

  764. the boxer's name was Lulu.

  765. I saw Lulu

  766. running around their front yard, and I

  767. thought, "I've never seen Lulu loose.

  768. I wonder what I should do."

  769. And I thought, "Eh, I'm not going to do

  770. anything."

  771. >> [laughter]

  772. >> Then I thought again. I thought, "That's

  773. really not very nice."

  774. Oh, well. Something happened to Lulu.

  775. >> [laughter]

  776. >> So,

  777. instead of being carnal, I decided to be

  778. spiritual, and I said, "You know what?

  779. I'm done. I am not going to let this

  780. fear of boxers paralyze me." I really

  781. didn't want to get out of the car. I

  782. just wanted to leave, but I just

  783. something in me was like, "Don't leave

  784. the dog running loose."

  785. So, I got out of the car, and I thought,

  786. "Okay, I'm going to walk." He was going

  787. crazy in the front yard. I thought, "I'm

  788. just going to walk real slow down the

  789. sidewalk to the front door."

  790. So, I did. Rang the doorbell, stood

  791. there. Nothing. I thought, "Great.

  792. They're not home."

  793. So, I walked real slowly back, you know,

  794. I didn't want to move fast cuz I didn't

  795. want him to eat me.

  796. So, I made it really easy for him,

  797. though. So, I moved very slowly back

  798. back over to my driveway, and I'm

  799. standing out there by my car trying to

  800. figure out, "Okay, now what do I do?"

  801. She's still running crazy in the front

  802. yard.

  803. So, I thought, "Well, I can't stand here

  804. all day." So, I said, "Lulu, come."

  805. Well, she started running full speed

  806. towards me. It's very obedient.

  807. I thought, "No, no, [laughter] no, no,

  808. no, no, no." So, I start walking over by

  809. the fence, and I open the gate, and I

  810. said, "Come on. Come on, girl. Come on.

  811. Come on. Go. Go. Go."

  812. She went in the backyard again. So, I

  813. closed that gate, put that handle thing

  814. down.

  815. I thought, "Oh,

  816. >> [snorts]

  817. >> I just overcame my fear. I'm so proud of

  818. myself, and I rescued her. I saved her

  819. life."

  820. >> [laughter]

  821. >> A few weeks later,

  822. I'm pulling out of the garage again, and

  823. I see our the the neighbor, the man of

  824. the house. He's in his driveway. So I I

  825. said, "Hey!" I said, "I want to tell you

  826. what happened a few weeks ago." He said,

  827. "What?" And I said, "I was leaving and

  828. Lulu was loose. I rang your doorbell,

  829. nobody was home. So I got her in the

  830. backyard and I just wanted you to know

  831. that somehow she got loose. I don't even

  832. know how she got in the front yard, but

  833. I wouldn't leave her, so I put her in

  834. your backyard." I was so I proud of

  835. myself. And he says to me, "What?"

  836. "Oh,

  837. so that's what happened."

  838. His tone changed, totally changed. And

  839. I'm like, "What do you mean? What

  840. happened?"

  841. He said, "Well,

  842. when my wife got home from work, he

  843. said, first of all, he said, we have a

  844. doggy door

  845. on the on the back side of our patio

  846. that goes into our house."

  847. And he said, "So when my wife got home

  848. from work a few hours later, she walked

  849. in

  850. and she said,

  851. 'There was Lulu

  852. and Oscar.'"

  853. I said, "Who is Oscar?"

  854. He said, "He's the other boxer that

  855. lives a couple blocks away from us that

  856. always gets loose and you let into our

  857. backyard."

  858. I went, "Oh! Wait, what are you saying?

  859. Do you have puppies?" I mean,

  860. I didn't know what to say. I was not

  861. going there. I was not going there. I

  862. said, "I'm so sorry. [laughter]

  863. I had no idea there were two boxers in

  864. this neighborhood." I wanted to go, "I'm

  865. moving."

  866. >> [laughter]

  867. >> So, um, he wasn't overly friendly.

  868. I don't think I've seen his wife or

  869. spoken to her [laughter] since that

  870. happened 8 years ago.

  871. We're really good friends with the

  872. neighbors on that side, but these

  873. people,

  874. I don't know. I don't think they

  875. appreciated my kindness.

  876. >> [laughter]

  877. >> Maybe I should have just left and let

  878. Lulu or Oscar or whoever this dog was.

  879. How was I supposed to know it wasn't

  880. Lulu? How was I supposed to know it was

  881. Oscar?

  882. I mean,

  883. you can't Anyway, I had no idea it was a

  884. boy.

  885. I just thought they're all, you know,

  886. anyway, so

  887. anyway,

  888. I overcame my fear.

  889. That's the bottom line.

  890. I overcame my fear.

  891. I've had lots of opportunities to fear.

  892. I could tell you story after story after

  893. story. I have another one.

  894. Because we can learn from these stories.

  895. We need to learn and realize that, you

  896. know what? You have fear, but it doesn't

  897. have to eat you up.

  898. You don't have to let fear knock you out

  899. of the ballpark. You don't have to let

  900. fear be greater than your faith. It's

  901. our choice.

  902. So sometimes we get in the middle of a

  903. situation, though.

  904. And we get so focused on what's

  905. happening around us, like Peter,

  906. that we forget what God has already said

  907. to us.

  908. Years ago,

  909. the Keatons were back from the mission

  910. field. This was back when they were

  911. still living on the mission field. They

  912. had come back from the mission field and

  913. they were in they were home here in

  914. Tulsa. And so we decided, "Hey, let's go

  915. down to Lake Eufaula, rent a boat and

  916. spend the day on the lake. Let's just go

  917. have fun." And they were like, "Oh, that

  918. sounds great." So we went down, got our

  919. boat

  920. and we took it to the other side of the

  921. lake and we ate lunch at a marina and we

  922. were having the best time. I am a I am a

  923. water person. I am a boat person. I'm

  924. happiest on the water in a boat just

  925. cruising. So we were having a beautiful

  926. day. We were sitting there at on the

  927. edge of the water at the marina having

  928. lunch and all of a sudden we noticed

  929. that the sky was the sunshine was going

  930. away

  931. and the sky was getting dark.

  932. And we looked at that and we said, "You

  933. know what?

  934. We better pay our bill, get back in the

  935. boat and head back to where our car was

  936. on the other side of the lake." So we

  937. did. We got about halfway to where we

  938. were going

  939. and I'm telling you those dark clouds

  940. broke and we were in the middle of a

  941. thunderstorm,

  942. complete with tons of rain, raining so

  943. hard we couldn't see where we were

  944. going, thunder, but with thunder there's

  945. always lightning.

  946. So there was lightning. And I, growing

  947. up on the Gulf Coast, I knew the place

  948. you never want to be in the middle of a

  949. thunderstorm is in a boat on a lake.

  950. So I'm like, "Okay, this is not good.

  951. This is really not good."

  952. So to make matters worse, we were going

  953. very I mean, boats were flying. We were

  954. flying and all of a sudden we hit

  955. something

  956. in the middle of the lake.

  957. The waves have now turned into the Gulf

  958. of Mexico. They are so big, they are

  959. literally coming into our boat. I know

  960. how the disciples felt felt when their

  961. boat was filling up with water. Our

  962. little boat was filling up water. The

  963. waves I'm like, "This lake doesn't even

  964. have waves. What is happening?"

  965. So now we're stuck.

  966. We tried to go forward, we couldn't go

  967. forward. We tried to go backward, we

  968. couldn't go backward. And we had no idea

  969. what we've hit. But Lake Eufaula is the

  970. third largest man-made lake in America.

  971. I don't know if you knew that, but take

  972. that fact home with you. And so they

  973. filled in this lake over trees.

  974. It's a very deep lake. So we thought we

  975. have hit we've hit a tree underneath and

  976. we can't see it.

  977. So we're we're sitting there

  978. and praying. Larry is praying in tongues

  979. at the top of his lungs.

  980. Angela is going, "Jesus! Jesus! Jesus!

  981. Jesus!"

  982. I am getting up. I'm staying very calm.

  983. I get up in Pastor's ear and I said,

  984. "Get us to the dock. Get us off of this

  985. water now." And of course Pastor Mark is

  986. like,

  987. >> [laughter]

  988. >> not saying a word.

  989. Later I said, "Why didn't you get

  990. [laughter] before we got stuck?" I said,

  991. "Why didn't you get us to a dock?" He

  992. said, "Because the wind was so strong,

  993. it would have blown us into the dock. It

  994. would have destroyed the dock and our

  995. boat." And I'm like, "Okay, that makes

  996. sense." So now we're we're stuck in the

  997. middle of the lake in the lightning, the

  998. thunder, the rain. And it's raining so

  999. hard that whenever a boat would go by,

1000. we'd see it for like 5 seconds. And we

  1001. would woohoo! Yeah, I mean, we're

1002. screaming at the top of our lungs,

1003. waving our arms, and the boat just kept

1004. going, flying by trying to get to

  1005. safety.

  1006. So

  1007. we thought, "Okay."

1008. All of a sudden I had this visual.

1009. I could see the headlines

1010. of news the next day.

1011. Tulsa pastors and missionaries die on

  1012. Lake Eufaula.

  1013. Just like the devil.

1014. And then the thought of what if we get

  1015. struck by lightning?

  1016. What if

  1017. what if nobody stops?

1018. What if we die out here?

  1019. And when you're in a you're in a moment

  1020. like that, you know,

1021. I should have known better, but I'm

1022. like, "Yeah, what if?" Oh yeah, what

1023. What ifs will always open the door to

  1024. fear.

1025. You got to stop it before the what ifs

  1026. take hold of you.

  1027. So we're still

1028. pray they're still yelling and praying

1029. and calling on the name of the Lord. I

  1030. don't even remember what I think I got

  1031. paralyzed.

1032. And I'm like, "Okay, God, you're going

1033. to help help help." And so then this one

1034. boat comes flying by. Again, it was I've

1035. never been in such a rainstorm. But you

1036. know, you can't we the shore

1037. disappeared. There you couldn't see the

1038. shore if we wanted to. There was the

1039. rain was so heavy. So this boat flies

1040. by. We're screaming and yelling and

1041. we're like, "There he goes again." I

1042. mean, I can't tell you how many boats

1043. went by and left us, didn't even see us.

1044. But then we know we go, "There he goes."

1045. And then all of a sudden he slows down.

  1046. And he turns

1047. and he starts coming back towards us.

1048. And we're like, "Yes! [laughter] Yes!

1049. Yes! Yes!" So he parked the boat ways

  1050. away,

1051. threw an anchor over, got out. This man

1052. gets out and he starts walking to us

  1053. on the water.

1054. Honest to God, all four of us, well,

1055. probably Pastor didn't. Larry and Angela

  1056. and I went, "It's Jesus!"

  1057. >> [screaming]

1058. >> So the closer he got, we're like, "Wait.

1059. How is he walking on the water?"

1060. He was walking on a sandbar.

1061. We had run onto a sandbar in the middle

1062. of this area of the lake and got stuck.

1063. We had no clue. So the first thing this

1064. man yells to us is, "Do you have life

1065. jackets?" We're like, "Oh, yeah.

1066. We do. They're underneath our seats."

  1067. >> [laughter]

1068. >> He said, "Put them on." We're like,

  1069. "Duh."

1070. So we got out our life jackets. We put

  1071. our life jackets on.

  1072. But you know,

1073. we forgot the most important thing that

1074. we had on the boat that could have saved

  1075. our lives.

1076. It was the life jackets.

1077. They were doing us absolutely no good

  1078. in the seat,

  1079. under the seat.

  1080. Yeah, we had them.

1081. We just hadn't put them on.

1082. God has thrown us a life jacket.

1083. It's the promises of his word.

1084. No matter what we encounter,

1085. we just have to put it on. Or apply

1086. God's word to our situation. God said

1087. he'd give his angels charge over us to

1088. keep us in all our ways. God said, "With

1089. long life I'll satisfy you." We weren't

1090. going to die. We weren't going anywhere

1091. because he said with long life I'll

1092. satisfy you and show you my salvation.

1093. He says no weapon formed against you can

1094. prosper. And he says greater greater is

1095. he that's in you than he that's in the

1096. world. So, what do we have to fear? He's

1097. thrown us life jackets that will keep us

1098. afloat when the hard times come. It'll

1099. keep us afloat when when everything

1100. turns dark. When you can't even hardly

1101. see your way because of the storm.

  1102. It keeps us safe.

1103. It doesn't matter what the circumstances

  1104. are.

1105. It doesn't matter what the devil says.

  1106. What has God said?

1107. That's what matters. What has God said?

  1108. And building our faith

1109. by speaking the word, getting it down in

1110. our heart. Fear is of the head.

1111. Faith is of the heart.

1112. But we have to put the word in our

1113. heart. It has to become life to us.

1114. It's not just head knowledge. I used to

1115. always love to hear Brother Hagin teach

1116. on that. He'd said, "I remember the day

1117. that it dropped from here. It was like

1118. dropping money into a a coin machine."

1119. He said it went from here ka-plunk and

1120. it went here. There's a difference in

1121. head knowledge and heart knowledge. We

1122. better have heart knowledge when fear

  1123. tries to attack us.

1124. Knowing what God said, speaking what God

1125. said. Faith comes by hearing. Say it out

1126. loud because faith comes by hearing and

1127. it's you're the first one to hear what

1128. you say. What are you saying about your

1129. situations? What are you saying about

1130. what's trying to hit your life? Are you

1131. What are you doing about it?

1132. Opportunities will come to all of us.

  1133. Won't be the same,

1134. but opportunities I'm telling you

1135. opportunities will come to all of us.

1136. But, we overcome those opportunities

1137. believing and saying what God said.

1138. If there's a fear of the future, let me

1139. tell you something. You don't have to be

1140. afraid of the future. You don't have to

1141. fear what the future holds because

1142. Jeremiah 29:11 God says, "For I know the

    Jeremiah 29:11

1143. plans I have for you, plans for good,

1144. not for disaster, to give you a hope and

1145. a future." We don't have to fear the

1146. future. God knows the future and he's

  1147. got a plan. He's a man with a plan.

1148. You have to believe it. You need to say

1149. it out of your mouth.

1150. What about a fear of lack or a lack of

1151. provision? A fear of of not being able

1152. to make it and pay your bills, not

  1153. having enough.

1154. I love Luke 12:24. It says, "Consider

    Luke 12:24

  1155. the ravens.

  1156. God feeds them.

1157. How much more valuable are you than the

  1158. birds?

1159. God will provide what we need.

1160. Or maybe there's a fear of death.

1161. Psalm 23 says, "Though I walk through

1162. the valley of the shadow of death, I

1163. will fear no evil for thou art with me."

1164. God's presence removes the fear of

  1165. death.

1166. What about the fear of being alone?

1167. Deuteronomy 31:6 says, "Be strong and

    Deuteronomy 31:6

  1168. courageous.

1169. Do not be afraid or terrified, for the

1170. Lord your God goes with you. He will

1171. never leave you nor forsake you." God

  1172. never abandons his people.

1173. If you're dealing with fear of any kind,

  1174. any kind,

1175. doesn't matter how little or how major,

1176. fear is fear. And there ain't no such

  1177. thing as good fear.

1178. No fear is good fear.

1179. There isn't no fear that is good. It's

1180. all bad because of where it comes from.

1181. God does never sends God never

1182. commissions fear. God never sends fear.

1183. That comes from the pit of hell and

1184. Satan is the author of it. So, what do

  1185. we do?

  1186. Jesus said, "Fear not,

  1187. only believe."

  1188. Fear not,

  1189. only

1190. only all you got to do is believe.

1191. Believe what he has said about you.

1192. Believe what he has said about your

  1193. situation. Fear not,

  1194. only

  1195. believe.

1196. If you're dealing with fear,

  1197. call it out.

1198. Don't put up with fear.

1199. If it's in your mind, renew your mind to

  1200. what God says.

1201. Get rid of those thoughts cuz if fear

1202. disguises itself as a lot of things. It

  1203. disguises itself as worry.

1204. It disguises itself as as as doubt.

1205. Don't allow the fear to take hold. It

1206. will take root in your head

1207. and then it will affect every area of

  1208. your life.

1209. Do not allow fear to grip you. You don't

1210. have to be afraid of tornadoes.

1211. Okay, okay, people. We don't have to be

  1212. afraid of tornadoes.

1213. You don't have to be afraid of

  1214. tornadoes.

1215. Say, "I am not afraid

  1216. of anything

1217. that the devil would try to throw.

  1218. I believe the word.

  1219. I will not fear.

  1220. I will only believe."

1221. He can't do the believing for us.

1222. I can't do the believing for you. As

1223. much as I would love to. I'm a fixer.

1224. That is my personality. I want to fix

  1225. everything.

  1226. I can't fix everything.

1227. I can't fix what God has already done. I

  1228. can't fix

1229. what God says. God has said it to you,

1230. you have to do something with it. I

1231. can't believe for you. You have to do

1232. your believing. You have to fear not and

  1233. only believe.

1234. He's provided a way of escape for us.

1235. We just have to take it.

1236. Take hold of that word. Don't let fear

1237. pull you down, cause you to sink. Keep

1238. your focus. Don't lose your focus. Don't

1239. lose your focus. Keep your focus on him.

1240. Keep your focus on his word. He and his

  1241. word are one.

1242. In the beginning was the word, the word

1243. was with God, the word was God. Keep

1244. your focus. Keep your focus on what he

1245. says about your situation. Refuse to

1246. believe anything else. Close the door on

  1247. fear.

1248. Well, it's just I just have this little

  1249. No.

1250. Don't even uh put up with a little fear.

1251. No fear is the best.

  1252. No fear. Fear not,

  1253. only

1254. believe. Go ahead and stand.

  1255. Hallelujah.

1256. Hallelujah. Father, we thank you.

  1257. We thank you

  1258. for your word.

1259. We thank you for your plan for man.

  1260. We thank you that

1261. we can go through life

  1262. free from fear.

  1263. Free from fear.

  1264. Free from fear. [music]

1265. Spirit of fear, no, no, no, has no place

  1266. here.

1267. Spirit of fear must go.

  1268. Haha.

  1269. That I do know.

  1270. We thank you

1271. for freedom from fear. We thank you that

1272. we can overcome fear in every situation

1273. as we keep our focus and our attention

1274. on you and on your word. We don't have

1275. to know the whole word. We don't have to

1276. know how to quote half the New

1277. Testament. All we need is one word.

1278. You said to Peter, "Come."

1279. All we need is one scripture.

  1280. One word.

1281. And it will dispel fear as long as we

1282. keep our attention on what you are

  1283. saying

1284. and what you've said to us.

  1285. So, we're so grateful.

  1286. We're so grateful

  1287. for a life

  1288. with no fear.

  1289. Haha.

  1290. A life

  1291. free from fear.

  1292. Because you're ever near.

  1293. Ever near. Haha.

1294. No fear, no fear, no fear.

1295. We thank you for it, Father.

1296. Now, I could call people down here

1297. you're dealing with fear to come up and

1298. I could lay hands on you.

1299. But to be quite honest,

1300. when you walk out the door,

1301. those thoughts will hit you again

1302. and that fear will reattach.

1303. So, this is something that we have to do

  1304. individually.

1305. You have to make the choice.

1306. I'm not going to fear.

1307. I'm not going to be afraid.

1308. I'm going to believe what he has said.

1309. You have to make that choice.

1310. I've instructed you from the word

1311. how Jesus demonstrated to his disciples,

1312. how Jesus functioned and what he said

1313. and what he did to help his disciples

1314. learn how to overcome fear. We can learn

1315. from exactly what Jesus taught them.

1316. But then we have to take the next step

1317. and we can't just be a hearer, but we

1318. must be a doer of the word.

1319. So, today, moving forward, you have an

1320. opportunity to not only hear about fear,

  1321. [music]

1322. but to do what he said to stay free from

  1323. fear.

  1324. Stay free.

  1325. >> [music]

1326. >> Bible says fear has torment.

1327. Because it comes from the tormentor.

1328. That's why it's had you have torment.

1329. And I was thinking about that over the

1330. last few days. Fear has Fear has

  1331. torment.

1332. But you know, fear, again,

1333. doesn't come up. The devil doesn't show

1334. up in a red suit with a pitchfork.

1335. He comes in the form of thoughts

  1336. talking to your head

1337. trying to get you [music]

1338. into fear, to get you to be afraid.

1339. Put cast the thoughts down. The Bible

1340. says casting down casting down every

  1341. thought every thought

1342. bringing them into captivity reel those

1343. thoughts in reel them in don't allow

1344. them to go bonkers in your head because

1345. no one knows what you're thinking but

  1346. you

  1347. and God.

1348. Reel those thoughts in don't don't dwell

1349. on the lies of the devil reel them in

1350. replace those thoughts with what God

1351. says about your situation build faith in

1352. your heart and things will start [music]

1353. to change. It wasn't until it wasn't

  1354. until

1355. Jesus spoke to those took authority over

  1356. those circumstances that this

1357. circumstances began to change. Use your

  1358. authority.

  1359. Use your authority.

1360. Use your authority. Oh, I didn't think

1361. about that. Use your authority.

  1362. You have authority.

  1363. You well

  1364. me? Yes, you.

1365. If you be mealy-mouthed with the devil

1366. he's going to walk all over you. I'm

1367. just telling you he'll eat he will eat

  1368. you for lunch.

1369. Don't [music] let him eat you.

1370. Don't let him even push you around. He's

  1371. a bully.

1372. Don't let him push you around. The Bible

1373. says that he's under our feet. That

1374. means you walk on top of the devil.

1375. You walk on top of the devil. You're

  1376. having a hard time? I don't care where

1377. you are. Put your foot down.

1378. Put your foot down. Stomp on him. Remind

1379. him who's in control. I have authority

  1380. over you buddy.

1381. Get mean. Well, I'm not a very mean

  1382. person then get something.

  1383. >> [laughter]

1384. >> I'm not either but don't mess with me.

  1385. Don't mess with me.

1386. Devil don't mess with me.

1387. Devil don't mess with my husband.

1388. Devil don't mess with my family.

  1389. >> [music]

  1390. >> Don't mess with them. I'm telling you

1391. I'm giving you fair warning. You better

1392. get out of here and not come [music]

1393. back. You have to talk to the devil. You

1394. have to use your authority or he's going

1395. to walk all over you.

1396. He's not your buddy. He's not your

1397. friend. He is your enemy. There's a big

1398. difference in a friend and an enemy. A

1399. friend is for you not against you. He on

1400. the other hand is against you. He wants

1401. you to fail. He wants you to drown. He

1402. wants you to go under. Don't let him lie

1403. to you. Don't believe his lies.

  1404. >> [music and singing]

1405. >> If you have to go back and listen to

1406. this message five times do it.

1407. Get it in your heart. Not just head

1408. knowledge. Again, we can have a head

1409. full of knowledge but it's not going to

1410. do us an ounce of good until that head

  1411. knowledge drops in

1412. into your spirit because faith is of the

  1413. heart.

1414. Fear is of the head faith [music]

1415. is of the heart. What are you putting in

  1416. your heart?

1417. You do it by meditating.

  1418. >> [music]

1419. >> You do it by dwelling on it. You do it

1420. by feeding on the word to where your

1421. faith is greater than your fear.

1422. Amen. Amen. Amen. Let's give them a

  1423. shout.

  1424. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.

  1425. HALLELUJAH.

  1426. WOO.

  1427. >> [cheering]

  1428. >> HAHA. [screaming]

  1429. HALLELUJAH.

  1430. We're free. We're free. We're free.

1431. Haha. Hallelujah. I'm free from fear.

1432. I'm free from fear. I'm free from fear.

  1433. I believe. I believe. I believe what you

  1434. said. Hallelujah.

  1435. Hallelujah.

  1436. >> [music]

  1437. >> Woo. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.

1438. Glory to God and you know I was thinking

  1439. >> [music]

1440. >> it's like when you preach on love

  1441. not being offended you

1442. you'll have an opportunity to get

1443. offended like probably by the time you

  1444. leave the parking lot.

1445. Well, it's not any different. There will

1446. be opportunities for you to make a

  1447. choice.

1448. I'm just telling you [music] heads up.

1449. The devil will test he'll come and try

1450. to steal the seed of his word is what

  1451. he's doing.

1452. As Bible tells us that's what he that's

1453. what happens. Don't let him steal this

  1454. seed.

1455. Be on guard. Be on guard with the word.

1456. No, no no fear here. No, you don't. No,

1457. you don't. Call him out and then resist

1458. him. Bible says resist the devil and

  1459. what?

1460. Say what? He will flee from who?

1461. From me. Resist him. He'll flee from

1462. you. He'll flee from you. Like really?

  1463. Really.

  1464. >> [music]

1465. >> He'll flee from you. Don't put up with

1466. lies of the devil. [music]

  1467. So

  1468. I don't know where Matt is.

  1469. Matt Mounts.

  1470. That's Matlock.

1471. I know. We have a [music] lot of Macaia,

  1472. Michaela, Matt.

  1473. >> [snorts]

1474. >> It just goes on and on. Too many M's.

1475. No, not too many M's. I love all the

  1476. M's.

1477. You know what I mean. But if Pastor Mark

1478. has a book Fearless Living in Dangerous

  1479. Times.

1480. This rose up in me while I was

1491. People are fearful everywhere. People

1492. are scared in America. People are

1493. scared. You know what? Chuck and Lisa I

1494. had a text from them this morning when I

1495. woke up. He said he went to went for a

  1496. walk.

1497. I don't know what time of day cuz you

1498. know it's you never know [music] what

1499. time and all that. He said I went for a

1500. walk today and he said the siren started

1501. going off and I was too far. It was

1502. night time. It was evening. He said the

1503. siren I was too far to to go back to our

1504. storm shelter and so um he said I saw

1505. and he said he took a video of it. It

1506. was that bomb that explodes and goes

  1507. into

  1508. >> [music]

1509. >> lots of pieces whatever you call that

1510. bomb that What is it?

1511. Yes, the cluster cluster bomb. He said I

1512. saw for the first time. I'm sure this

1513. wasn't exactly how he wanted to see it

1514. but he said I looked up and that the

1515. cluster bomb and he took it on video.

1516. The cluster bomb was going right over

1517. his head and you could see all these

  1518. little tiny lights scattering.

  1519. They are living

1520. in a dangerous situation but you know

  1521. what? There's no fear.

1522. There's no [music] fear. Why? Because

1523. they know they're in the middle of God's

1524. word God's will and the word is

1525. protecting them. So they are living and

1526. quoting Psalms 91 on a daily basis

  1527. probably multiple times. That's why I

1528. told you last week don't leave the house

  1529. without quoting Psalms 91.

  1530. >> [music]

1531. >> I'm going to tell you again don't leave

1532. your house without quoting Psalms 91.

1533. You will always be at the and say this.

1534. I I say this. I will always be at the

1535. right place at the right time.

1536. I believe it. I believe it. You need to

1537. believe it. Fear not only believe.

1538. You'll always be at the right place at

1539. the right time. But I would encourage
