  1. And this this [music] this attitude of

  2. awareness of his presence.

  3. You can do two things at once. You can

  4. listen with these ears but you can also

  5. listen with these these ears

  6. >> [music]

  7. >> and be aware of the presence of God.

  8. Don't you love his presence? There's

  9. nothing like his presence. Nothing like

  10. his presence.

  11. I feel all deserted up here.

  12. There's a verse in Romans.

  13. Says this, you know the times in which

  14. we are living.

  15. Do you know the times in which we are

  16. living? It's important that we know the

  17. times in which we are living.

  18. It's time

  19. for you

  20. I'll say it's time for us

  21. to wake up.

  22. It's time for us to wake up.

  23. Our salvation is nearer now than when we

  24. first became believers. That's Romans

    Romans 13:11

  25. 13:11. It's the God's word translation.

  26. It's time to wake up. Have you ever

  27. noticed

  28. that when someone is asleep, they are

  29. totally unaware

  30. of their surroundings?

  31. You ever been on a a flight?

  32. A man falls asleep.

  33. He starts snoring.

  34. Snoring and the whole plane turns to see

  35. who's snoring. He is totally in la la

  36. land, totally unaware of his

  37. surroundings. The church cannot be

  38. unaware of her surroundings. It's time

  39. to wake up. It's time to wake up. It's

  40. time to wake up. We have to recognize

  41. the times we're living in and understand

  42. and wake up to our purpose.

  43. Why are we on Earth?

  44. Why are you on Earth?

  45. Have you ever wondered that? Why am I

  46. even on Earth?

  47. When we understand our why

  48. we'll understand it when we understand

  49. his why.

  50. Why did Jesus even come? Why did he

  51. come?

  52. What was his purpose? When we know his

  53. purpose, we'll understand our purpose.

  54. Because our purpose is the same as his

  55. purpose. So, why did Jesus come?

  56. I think if we were to walk up to random

  57. people

  58. and say, "Do you know why Jesus came?" I

  59. think there would be I think we'd be

  60. shocked at how many people would say, "I

  61. have no idea."

  62. See, we get so used to our our

  63. our bubble

  64. that we can live in as believers. But

  65. God wants us to pop that balloon.

  66. Pop that bubble and get out there.

  67. Love on people. Be there for people. Be

  68. a witness to people. But what what what

  69. is our purpose? Jesus tells us in John

    John 6:38

  70. chapter 6

  71. verse 38. He says, "For I have come down

  72. from heaven not to do my own will and

  73. purpose

  74. but to do the will and purpose of him

  75. who sent me. For this is my father's

  76. will and purpose that everyone who sees

  77. the Son and believes in him should have

  78. eternal life." Jesus knew

  79. his why.

  80. He knew there was a divine purpose

  81. on his life.

  82. And that purpose was to destroy the

  83. works of the devil

  84. and to seek and save people who are

  85. lost.

  86. That was his entire purpose. For 3 and

  87. 1/2 years, that was his purpose. But

  88. Jesus needed to build a team because he

  89. knew the day would come when he would

  90. ascend back up to the Father's right

  91. hand. But he needed to he didn't want

  92. his purpose to fall apart after he left.

  93. So, he built a team. And uh the first

  94. thing he they taught he taught them

  95. was how to seek and save the lost.

  96. First thing.

  97. Now, they couldn't go on YouTube

  98. to the search engine and type in, "How

  99. to seek and save the lost. Let's see

  100. what chat GPT has to say."

  101. They couldn't do that. So, what did he

  102. do?

  103. Bible says Jesus demonstrated

  104. his purpose.

  105. In Matthew 4:19, Jesus said to them,

    Matthew 4:19

  106. "Come with me.

  107. I'll make a new kind of fisherman out of

  108. you.

  109. I'll show you how to catch men and women

  110. instead of perch

  111. and bass."

  112. A new kind of fisherman, huh?

  113. Jesus did not say, "Follow me and I'll

  114. make you rich."

  115. He didn't say, "Follow me and I'll make

  116. you famous."

  117. He said, "Follow me and I'll make you

  118. fishers of

  119. men."

  120. A lot of translations say it this way.

  121. "Follow me and I'll show you how to

  122. catch people instead of fish."

  123. Jesus used the concept of fishing

  124. because so many people had that

  125. occupation back in his day. That was the

  126. primary number one number one occupation

  127. and he knew that they could relate and

  128. understand what he was talking about if

  129. he used the concept of fishing and not

  130. just them but generations to come.

  131. Fishing isn't as popular today as it was

  132. in his day. But hey, we still have

  133. especially in Oklahoma.

  134. You don't see a lot of you don't see a

  135. lot of commercial fishermen. But I grew

  136. up on the Gulf Coast. Grew up in

  137. Pensacola. So, I'm used to

  138. fishermen, commercial fishermen. And um

  139. they would they have a system to their

  140. madness. They know what they're doing.

  141. Jesus said, "I'll make you fishers of

  142. people." How do you How many of y'all

  143. like to fish?

  144. Come on. Oh, raise them up high.

  145. All right.

  146. I love to fish.

  147. I'm a

  148. bobber girl kind of fisherman.

  149. Give me my fishing pole

  150. with that little bobber on the end of

  151. it.

  152. I'll bait my own hook with worms or

  153. minnows. Now, I won't take the fish off

  154. when I catch them. But I will bait the

  155. worm I Hey, that's good. I'm doing worms

  156. and minnows. I'll bait my own hook. I'll

  157. throw that baby into the water and I'll

  158. sit there all day if I have to waiting

  159. for a fish to bite.

  160. I'm the most patient person. My husband

  161. does not like fishing cuz

  162. he doesn't want to sit there all day.

  163. But me on the other hand, I'm just going

  164. to watch that thing go up and down now

  165. but until it goes down and doesn't come

  166. up again. And then I jerk on that thing.

  167. And then when I realize that I've caught

  168. a fish, let me tell you the whole

  169. lake knows

  170. within a 50-mi radius that I caught a

  171. fish.

  172. There's joy

  173. when one comes into the kingdom of God.

  174. Joy in heaven

  175. when one one receives Jesus.

  176. He said, "I'll make you fishers of

  177. people. I'll show you how to catch

  178. people." That's what he said to his

  179. followers and he's still saying to

  180. saying it to us today.

  181. Jesus demonstrated how to to his

  182. disciples how to intentionally

  183. go

  184. after people. How to catch people.

  185. Passion translation says Jesus walked

  186. through the region

  187. with the joyful message of God's

  188. kingdom.

  189. He taught in their meeting houses and

  190. wherever he went, he demonstrated

  191. God's power by healing every disease and

  192. illness.

  193. Can you what bait to use?

  194. You know, it's all about the bait.

  195. All about the bait. Good fishermen know

  196. that.

  197. They don't just use minnows and

  198. worms.

  199. They have different kinds of bait for

  200. different kinds of fish.

  201. Jesus had a bait. He knew what bait to

  202. use. His bait was the supernatural.

  203. Says, "How God anointed Jesus of

  204. Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and power

  205. who went about doing good and healing

  206. how many?"

  207. "How many?"

  208. "Healing all that were oppressed of the

  209. devil for God was with him." When we go

  210. out to where the people are, where the

  211. fish are, God is with us.

  212. And we will have supernatural bait,

  213. miracles, just like here.

  214. Matthew 4:23 says, "Jesus went

    Matthew 4:23

  215. throughout Galilee teaching in their

  216. synagogues, proclaiming the good news of

  217. the kingdom, and healing every disease

  218. and sickness among the people. News

  219. about him spread all over Syria and

  220. people brought to him all who were ill

  221. with various diseases, those suffering

  222. severe pain, the demon-possessed, those

  223. having seizures, and the paralyzed, and

  224. he healed them."

  225. And then verse 25 says, "And great cloud

  226. crowds

  227. followed him."

  228. What drew the crowds?

  229. The miracles.

  230. The miracles. The miracles drew

  231. the crowds.

  232. What was Jesus doing?

  233. He was demonstrating how to fish for

  234. people using supernatural

  235. bait.

  236. Healing and miracles are the bait that

  237. cause fish to bite.

  238. Healing and miracles get people's

  239. attention.

  240. It worked then for Jesus.

  241. It still works today.

  242. My uncle told me a story.

  243. I wasn't born yet, uh back in the '50s,

  244. early '50s, there was a tent revival

  245. that took place in Baton Rouge,

  246. Louisiana. My dad was the song leader

  247. for the tent revival, so he was right

  248. there in the middle of it. My uncle was

  249. helping, assisting in the in the

  250. meetings, but there was an an evangelist

  251. that came in

  252. and they began to preach, he began to

  253. preach, and every night

  254. ambulances would come

  255. and unload people on stretchers.

  256. Bring and lay them at the edge of the

  257. platform. Night after night after night

  258. for 7 weeks.

  259. My uncle said he saw every manner of

  260. sickness and every manner of disease. He

  261. says, "There's not one sickness or

  262. disease I can think of that I didn't see

  263. people

  264. instantly healed." He said, "They'd

  265. come, they'd lay them down, lay them on

  266. the edge of lay the stretcher just on

  267. the edge of the platform. By the end of

  268. the evening, every night, people would

  269. get up and go home with their families."

  270. If If If then,

  271. if then, why not now?

  272. Is he not the same God yesterday, today,

  273. and forever? Is his power changed? Has

  274. it abated? Has it gotten any less? No,

  275. he's the same yesterday, today, and

  276. forever. The same God that healed then.

  277. And you know what the result of that

  278. meeting was?

  279. My uncle said, "And at the end of the

  280. meeting, 7 weeks, they they gave an

  281. altar call every service, every night."

  282. He said, "At the end of the meeting,

  283. they tallied up all the names and

  284. numbers of people that had gotten born

  285. again, 5,000

  286. people were born again in 7 weeks." You

  287. tell me that healing and miracles aren't

  288. a supernatural bait. The fish came, they

  289. met Jesus, they were healed, made whole,

  290. and started a brand new life.

  291. Healing and miracles are still

  292. our bait that we are to use. God will

  293. follow and confirm his word. You speak

  294. his word. You know what you know how to

  295. witness to someone. You know how to talk

  296. to someone about the word, Jesus, what

  297. he did for them, and I'm telling you

  298. what,

  299. ask them if they need healing.

  300. Ask them if they need a miracle.

  301. Pray for them.

  302. Let that supernatural bait use that

  303. supernatural bait. That bait is still

  304. the same.

  305. We're to fish with supernatural bait.

  306. Jesus again declared his purpose. He was

  307. He was continually, everywhere he went,

  308. declaring his purpose. He knew his

  309. purpose. He knew his why. Why was he

  310. here?

  311. When we know his purpose, we'll know our

  312. purpose.

  313. He declared his purpose in Luke 4:18. It

    Luke 4:18

  314. says, "The spirit of the Lord is upon

  315. me, because he has anointed me to preach

  316. the gospel to the poor. He sent me to

  317. heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim

  318. liberty to the captives, recovery of

  319. sight to the blind, to set at liberty

  320. those who oppressed or bruised." Here

  321. Jesus is listing all kinds of people,

  322. but what he's doing is actually talking

  323. about different kinds of fish.

  324. The poor, they may not need healing, but

  325. they need to know that they don't have

  326. to stay poor forever.

  327. The brokenhearted, things happen.

  328. People's hearts get broken because of

  329. things that happened,

  330. loved ones that die, or situations, life

  331. falls apart, their heart is literally

  332. broken. Jesus said, "I've come to heal

  333. the brokenhearted." You don't have to go

  334. through life brokenhearted. People in

  335. the world do not have to go through life

  336. brokenhearted. Says, "The captive, those

  337. bound by addiction, don't have to go

  338. through life bound up. We can keep

  339. moving forward. They need to know they

  340. can be free."

  341. The blind, if Jesus opened the blind

  342. eyes when he was on the earth, we should

  343. be getting blind's eyes open, too. I'm

  344. ready for those kind of of miracles.

  345. The bruised, or one translation refers

  346. to them as the abused.

  347. They can be free from the pain

  348. of abuse.

  349. Matthew 9:37, Jesus also demonstrated

    Matthew 9:37

  350. something else.

  351. He said, "When he saw the vast crowds of

  352. people,

  353. Jesus' heart was deeply moved with

  354. compassion,

  355. because they seemed weary and helpless,

  356. like wandering sheep without a

  357. shepherd."

  358. Jesus was moved with compassion. When?

  359. When he saw the crowds of people.

  360. Jesus was showing his disciples how to

  361. intentionally

  362. catch people.

  363. When Jesus saw the people,

  364. how often do we walk by people?

  365. In Walmart.

  366. Wherever we are.

  367. How often do we intentionally walk by

  368. people and we never see them?

  369. When Jesus saw the people, when they he

  370. saw them, something happened. Something

  371. happened. He had compassion rise up on

  372. the inside. Compassion gives us eyes to

  373. see, and when we see, we can't help but

  374. care.

  375. Compassion is not feeling sorry for

  376. someone. Don't come Don't confuse

  377. compassion with sympathy. It's not

  378. feeling sorry for all, "Bless their

  379. hearts." No. It's like so a holy

  380. something that rises up on the inside

  381. side of us. It's a supernatural force.

  382. It's a supernatural force of love

  383. that allows something to touch us.

  384. And we cannot leave them like we found

  385. them.

  386. It's greater than just a natural, "Oh,

  387. I'm so sorry for you." No, it's a

  388. supernatural force. It says, "I'm not

  389. going to leave you like you I found you.

  390. I'm going to bring change to your

  391. situation." Compassion is not pity.

  392. It's a supernatural force of love. Jesus

  393. demonstrated compassion when he met

  394. ran across the leper. We all remember

  395. that story. The leper came and said, "If

  396. you're willing, if you're willing,

  397. you can make me clean." In other words,

  398. what that leper was saying is,

  399. "Will you let my leprosy touch you?

  400. Will you let my situation touch you

  401. so that you'll bring change and not

  402. leave me like you found me?"

  403. And the Bible says Jesus was moved with

  404. compassion.

  405. Put forth his hand and touched him

  406. and said, "I will

  407. be clean." He removed the if. As long as

  408. we've got the if in there, what if? What

  409. if? What if? What if? Mm, get rid of the

  410. if. He said,

  411. "Be clean. Be clean."

  412. And Jesus said it He touched the leper.

  413. Now, I'll just say this, it was against

  414. the law

  415. for him to even be around someone with

  416. leprosy, much less

  417. touch them.

  418. But compassion overruled social

  419. protocol.

  420. Compassion,

  421. the compassion of God, it overruled

  422. social protocol protocol. When someone

  423. go, "I wouldn't go to that area if I

  424. were you."

  425. I wouldn't talk to that person if I were

  426. you.

  427. I wouldn't do that if I were you. Well,

  428. you're not you.

  429. Compassion of God, it's something that

  430. rises up and you can't leave them the

  431. way you saw them.

  432. Quite often,

  433. in Jesus' ministry, he'd be on his way

  434. someplace. So many stories in the Bible.

  435. He'd be on his way someplace, and then

  436. he'd get interrupted.

  437. A blind man would call out to him, "Have

  438. mercy on me." And he'd stop and take the

  439. time

  440. to open the blind eyes.

  441. John Osteen used to refer to it as the

  442. divine flow, the compassion of God on

  443. the inside of us, the divine flow. How

  444. many times have we encountered

  445. situations where we didn't have time.

  446. I'm in a hurry. I got to be somewhere. I

  447. don't have time for this. Not now. I'll

  448. see you maybe another time. And we

  449. totally walk away and miss those

  450. opportunities to catch people.

  451. Paul Chase refers to those uh moments as

  452. life's little interruptions.

  453. He preached that message many, many,

  454. many, many years ago, and I've never

  455. forgotten it to this day, because

  456. let's face it,

  457. sometimes it's an interruption.

  458. Maybe you do have somewhere you need to

  459. be, but how important is that compared

  460. to the person that the compassion has

  461. just risen up in your heart about?

  462. We've got to recognize

  463. that flow.

  464. We've got to be able to recognize it,

  465. cuz I guarantee you that flow, that that

  466. that divine flow is rising up in you

  467. more times than you know.

  468. We just have to be aware of it. I

  469. remember, years ago, I've told this

  470. story in the past,

  471. but uh it it so impressed me. I I

  472. learned something in this story that's

  473. changed me forever.

  474. We were in Eufaula,

  475. uh going down to go fishing, just have a

  476. day off. It was a It was a no makeup hat

  477. kind of day for me. Didn't plan to see

  478. anyone I knew.

  479. And if I had about it hidden. So

  480. So

  481. but there's a little Braum's right on

  482. the main street and so I said, "I want

  483. ice cream. So I'll sit in the car while

  484. you go in and get it for both of us." So

  485. I was sitting in the car while he went

  486. in to get our ice cream because you

  487. know, he was just I was safer in the

  488. car.

  489. So he's in there. I'm sitting there and

  490. we're parked right as the door opens and

  491. closes to go into the main part of

  492. Braum's.

  493. So I'm sitting there and the door opens

  494. and out comes this

  495. um

  496. elderly gentleman followed by someone

  497. that looked like his son.

  498. And they were he was moving very slowly.

  499. The the younger man was helping him

  500. assisting him.

  501. They came and they were walking just he

  502. was kind of like walking very very

  503. slowly.

  504. And um

  505. when I looked at him

  506. that divine flow

  507. rose up in me.

  508. And I thought, "Oh no."

  509. Not today.

  510. Lord, this is my day off.

  511. >> [laughter]

  512. >> Not today.

  513. But I watched him and it they I watched

  514. him and it did not go away.

  515. He walked past and he got he was parked

  516. in the car right next to us. His son

  517. helped him get in.

  518. He got in. So all of this is happening

  519. and it seems like it's in slow motion

  520. but it's hey it's just things are the

  521. sun goes around gets in his the same in

  522. his driver at the same time pastor comes

  523. out of the of Braum's with my ice cream

  524. and his ice cream. He gets in the car.

  525. He reaches and so this is all happening

  526. at the same time and I'm struggling

  527. because this something is happening on

  528. the inside of me. And I'm like, "Oh."

  529. And so he starts to start the car and I

  530. said, "Wait."

  531. He said, "What? What?" [laughter]

  532. I said, "I think I'm supposed to pray

  533. for the man in that car over there. And

  534. if I don't and I knew if I didn't I

  535. would be miserable the rest of the day

  536. because I will know that I missed God."

  537. That force that force of love that

  538. supernatural love that compassion it's

  539. from God. It's the spirit of God moving

  540. on you to allow what's in you to flow

  541. out of you into someone else. It's not

  542. for you. Oh, this feels so good. I'm

  543. just going to enjoy this. No, it's not

  544. for you. Compassion flows through you

  545. for someone else.

  546. So he said I said I I have to go I'm I

  547. think I'm supposed to pray for that man

  548. in that car right next to you.

  549. He said, "You better do it." And I

  550. thought,

  551. You didn't help me. I wanted him to go,

  552. "I'll go. I'll go do it." No.

  553. He wasn't the one that was getting moved

  554. on with compassion.

  555. He's no help.

  556. >> [laughter]

  557. >> Every man for himself.

  558. So I got out of the car.

  559. I walked around the front of the car

  560. over to his door which was like pastor's

  561. right here. This little man sitting

  562. inside his car and I knocked on the

  563. glass.

  564. It's the summer and the guy's starting

  565. the car and you know, it's hot. I

  566. knocked on the glass and he put his

  567. window down.

  568. And I said, "Excuse me, sir." And I told

  569. him what happened.

  570. I said, "I was just sitting in my car

  571. right next to us waiting on my husband

  572. and when I looked at you

  573. something rose up in me.

  574. And I knew I needed to pray for you.

  575. Is there something I can pray with you

  576. about?"

  577. He said,

  578. "Interesting." He said, "My son just

  579. picked me up at the hospital

  580. and we're on our way home. I've been in

  581. the hospital." And he said, "But I

  582. wanted Braum's first." I thought,

  583. "That's a good man."

  584. >> [laughter]

  585. >> So he said, "Absolutely, you may pray

  586. for me."

  587. So he took his hat off.

  588. He had a little baseball cap. I didn't

  589. take mine off.

  590. He took his hat off and he covered his

  591. heart.

  592. And I begin to pray.

  593. Didn't pray long.

  594. Didn't pray. I just followed the Holy

  595. Ghost in how to pray for him.

  596. That he'd be strengthened with might.

  597. That he'd be filled with the presence of

  598. God and that it would be peace bring him

  599. peace and and I just prayed the word

  600. over him. I knew he was a believer. I

  601. could tell that much.

  602. And so um at the end I just said,

  603. "Thank you." He said, "Thank you."

  604. I went back got in the car ate my ice

  605. cream that was melting. I said, "Okay,

  606. we can go now."

  607. Following that flow.

  608. That divine flow. It will hit you when

  609. you least expect it.

  610. But if you make a lifestyle of

  611. overriding it

  612. Listen to what I'm saying.

  613. If you make a lifestyle of overriding

  614. that divine flow

  615. that divine flow will dry up.

  616. Because he's a gentleman.

  617. The Holy Ghost is a gentleman.

  618. He wants to flow through us.

  619. He wants to flow through you.

  620. Say me? Yes, every day.

  621. Every day whether it's reaching out to a

  622. neighbor. You'll know. You'll know.

  623. You'll get accustomed to that. I know

  624. when that flow starts churning on the

  625. inside. I know it. It's been so many

  626. years now. But that story taught me how

  627. to recognize it and I knew I was going

  628. to be absolutely miserable if I didn't

  629. yield to it. Because it wasn't for me.

  630. It was for him. Compassion will flow

  631. through you. It's not for you. It's for

  632. someone else. So if you sense that then

  633. start looking.

  634. Be intentional. Okay.

  635. Okay, I'm looking. Where's this Where's

  636. this flow supposed to go? Who is this

  637. for?

  638. We're talking about how to catch people.

  639. The Holy Ghost knows who we need to

  640. reach out to.

  641. And he will lead us to those

  642. individuals.

  643. I remember our boat

  644. had a depth finder on it.

  645. Anybody know what a depth finder is on a

  646. boat?

  647. Okay. Our boat had a depth finder and it

  648. would show us how deep we were going and

  649. actually where the fish were. Now since

  650. I'm a bobber kind of girl I just stayed

  651. on the dock and fished. But that depth

  652. finder would show us where to go to find

  653. the the fish.

  654. The the fish that are all deep that swam

  655. that that's where the big fish are

  656. actually. Show us where to go. Well, we

  657. have a depth finder on the inside of us.

  658. We have the Holy Ghost on the inside of

  659. us. He knows where we need to go. He

  660. knows to whom we need to reach out to

  661. and he tells us how to do it.

  662. That flow. That flow on the inside.

  663. So Jesus' plan was to to start with 12

  664. then it went to 24 then it went to 70

  665. and now here we are

  666. with literally thousands and thousands

  667. and thousands of believers around the

  668. world

  669. with all the same purpose as Jesus had

  670. to go fishing

  671. for people.

  672. He said, "Follow me.

  673. I'll make you fishers of people instead

  674. of fish. Follow me. I'll show you how to

  675. catch people."

  676. And that same same supernatural fishing

  677. equipment is still available to the

  678. church today. It's available to you.

  679. It's available to me.

  680. He's equipped us. He's equipped us with

  681. the power of the Holy Ghost.

  682. The power of the Holy Ghost to be

  683. fishers of people.

  684. In Tulsa?

  685. In Oklahoma?

  686. Across America

  687. and the nations of the world. It's a

  688. four-point plan.

  689. But where do we begin? We begin in

  690. Tulsa, Oklahoma.

  691. If you can't catch people in Tulsa,

  692. Oklahoma let me tell you what you going

  693. to be way over your head to go fishing

  694. in another nation.

  695. It starts here.

  696. It starts here. There are Someone we

  697. were in Germany years ago having a

  698. lunch. This pastor's wife was sitting

  699. next to me. She spoke broken broken a

  700. little broken English. She said, "Uh in

  701. Tulsa everybody saved?"

  702. That's all she'd ever heard of you know,

  703. was all the Christians in Tulsa. I said,

  704. "No. Not everyone is saved." Do you know

  705. how many of you know someone that's not

  706. born again in Tulsa? Raise your hand.

  707. Yeah.

  708. Everybody's not saved in Tulsa.

  709. So we need to get our antennas up.

  710. And we need to use our eyes

  711. and be intentional

  712. to go fishing. The power of the Holy

  713. Ghost let me tell you.

  714. The power of the Holy Ghost will help

  715. get us out of our comfort zone.

  716. You said, "That's just not my

  717. personality." Who says?

  718. Are you born again?

  719. Then you can go fishing.

  720. You're born again.

  721. And then if you want the icing on the

  722. cake get filled with the Holy Ghost.

  723. He'll direct you to where you need to

  724. go. Praying in tongues. There's a

  725. boldness that comes. Acts 4:13 said, Um

    Acts 4:13

  726. oh let me go back one.

  727. Uh rarely this is rarely this is really

  728. this came to me. Rarely do we see

  729. professional fishermen

  730. fishing right off the shore.

  731. They get in their boat and they go out

  732. into the deep

  733. where the fish are.

  734. So it might not be right next door.

  735. Might be might not be.

  736. Just be prepared to go out into the

  737. deep.

  738. So it says in Acts 4:13, "Now when they

    Acts 4:13

  739. saw the boldness of Peter and John." How

  740. do you see boldness? You don't see

  741. boldness. It's not tangible. You know,

  742. you see this pulpit but boldness how do

  743. we see boldness? You see the results of

  744. boldness.

  745. The results. So Peter and John were

  746. walking past a crippled man lying at the

  747. side of the gate beautiful. So the man

  748. called out to them for money that he was

  749. a beggar. And Peter and John said,

  750. "We don't have any money but what we do

  751. have we'll give to you. In the name of

  752. Jesus, rise up and walk. So they reached

  753. down, took his hand, the man jumped to

  754. his feet, took off leaping and running

  755. and praising God. Completely healed. The

  756. man had a reputation of being at that

  757. gate. God changed his reputation. He was

  758. no longer the crippled man. His

  759. reputation changed to THE HEALED MAN.

  760. WE NEED TO BE CHANGING SOME REPUTATIONS.

  761. There's so many homeless people in

  762. Tulsa. That needs to change.

  763. Change their reputation. They no longer

  764. have to be known as, "Oh, he's the guy

  765. that stands on the corner of 71st and

  766. Memorial." No, he's the guy that

  767. something happened to him. He's no

  768. longer on the street. I heard he got a

  769. job and I heard he's moving into an

  770. apartment and I heard he's part of a

  771. church.

  772. How about that?

  773. Get out of the boat. Get out of the

  774. boat. Get it off the shore. Get into the

  775. deep. That's where the fish are. That's

  776. where the fish are.

  777. >> [laughter]

  778. >> It was, wasn't it?

  779. That was Holy Ghost. Holy Ghost. Holy

  780. Ghost.

  781. What if Peter and John had had

  782. ignored that man?

  783. What if Peter and John didn't have time

  784. to stop? Well, Lord, not now. I You know

  785. I got to be somewhere. I'll Maybe I'll

  786. catch them on a catch them on another

  787. time coming into the temple. No.

  788. You got to stay in the rhythm, the

  789. timing of the Holy Ghost. God will work

  790. on both ends.

  791. But if you miss the time,

  792. you're going to be plowing on your own.

  793. Following the Holy Ghost. Following that

  794. unction. Following the compassion. The

  795. compassion.

  796. We've been equipped with supernatural

  797. bait,

  798. with supernatural fishing equipment, the

  799. name of Jesus,

  800. signs following.

  801. It's It's what follows us as a believer.

  802. Laying hands on the sick,

  803. casting out devils,

  804. drinking

  805. water,

  806. not making us sick. We've been there,

  807. done that in other nations.

  808. Not gotten sick, that is.

  809. Signs of the believer. These signs shall

  810. follow them that believe.

  811. The fish are biting.

  812. We just need to get them in the boat.

  813. Proverbs 11:30 says, "He who wins souls

    Proverbs 11:30

  814. is wise."

  815. Flip it.

  816. He who wins who He who doesn't win souls

  817. is

  818. foolish,

  819. stupid,

  820. dumb.

  821. There's lots of words you could fill in

  822. the blank.

  823. But he who wins souls is wise.

  824. There was a man a Catholic an Italian

  825. Catholic priest that was alive on the

  826. years ago, St. Francis of Assisi.

  827. He made this statement that's he's very

  828. well known for. Preach the gospel

  829. and if you must,

  830. use words.

  831. I love that.

  832. If you must, use words. Our lives

  833. Our lives should be a witness

  834. to the world that God is real and lives

  835. in us.

  836. We should live our lives

  837. to where people go, "There's something

  838. different about her.

  839. There's something different There's a

  840. There's a joy."

  841. I have a neighbor.

  842. Love him dearly. This is a family. This

  843. family just right down the street. God

  844. has really connected us. Dear, dear,

  845. dear. They're of a different religion.

  846. But he sent me a birthday wish on

  847. Facebook. He commented

  848. and he said,

  849. "Happy birthday. Don't ever stop

  850. smiling."

  851. Yeah.

  852. People are watching.

  853. People are watching. You don't know

  854. who's watching. You never know. You

  855. never know, but I'm telling you the

  856. world is watching because the Bible says

  857. we are a peculiar people.

  858. We're different. We should be different

  859. from the world. Duh.

  860. We're in this world, but we're not of

  861. the world. We have the life of God.

  862. We're children of God, sons and

  863. daughters of God. Our lives should

  864. radiate the presence of God.

  865. We should be different.

  866. And when we are, people will tell.

  867. They'll be able to tell.

  868. Every day we're surrounded by lost

  869. people.

  870. Do you know what it means to be lost?

  871. Have you ever been lost?

  872. Many's been lost many times.

  873. I can believe that.

  874. >> [laughter]

  875. >> I can believe that. Me, too, many. I'm

  876. right there with you.

  877. Lost people are people who can't find

  878. their way.

  879. You know, we go down some streets. You

  880. got this address and you know it's here

  881. somewhere, but you can't find it.

  882. Jesus said, "I am the way,

  883. the truth,

  884. and the life." So our purpose is to seek

  885. seek out seek, but don't just find them

  886. and go, "Good luck. See you later." No,

  887. seek and save the lost. Bring them to

  888. the knowledge of Jesus.

  889. That's what it's all about. We're trying

  890. to populate heaven.

  891. Bring them to the knowledge of Jesus.

  892. How can we close our eyes to those

  893. around us

  894. when we know that we have what they

  895. need?

  896. It's very selfish if you think about it.

  897. We can't live our life selfish.

  898. We need to be looking.

  899. Ever looking. Our eyes open. Aware.

  900. Aware. Awake. That's what we're talking

  901. about. Being awake to our purpose.

  902. Waking up to our purpose.

  903. Another important factor

  904. about fishing.

  905. A good fisherman knows the best time for

  906. catching certain kinds of fish.

  907. Here in Oklahoma, crappie season is

  908. March, April, and May.

  909. Do I got any crappie fishermen in here?

  910. Yeah. Yep, I know Pastor Bruce does.

  911. Crappie's good eating.

  912. March, April, and May. We're in the

  913. middle of crappie season.

  914. My mom used to tell me that oysters

  915. oysters

  916. were best

  917. if the month had a an R in it.

  918. Now, people have laughed at me, but my

  919. mama was right. My mom and she had all

  920. these sayings, but she was right.

  921. Oysters are better in

  922. Let's see. January, February. February,

  923. January.

  924. Go back. January, February, March,

  925. April.

  926. Bottom line, oysters are not fresh in

  927. the summer because they have to be under

  928. cold They have to be harvested in cold

  929. water. Don't let anybody fool you. If

  930. they're get oysters in the summer,

  931. they're not fresh. They're freshly

  932. frozen, but they're not fresh.

  933. So,

  934. you got to know what fish

  935. and where they are, but what's the best

  936. time to catch fish?

  937. Well, I'll just say this. Next weekend

  938. is Easter weekend

  939. and we're having the Easter Fun Bash on

  940. Saturday.

  941. And the fish are coming to us.

  942. Why are we recruiting so many

  943. volunteers? So that you can let your

  944. light shine. You can love on people. You

  945. can let them see something's really

  946. different about these people. Let them

  947. see we love you. We care about you.

  948. We've done this.

  949. Next Sunday, next Saturday, the the the

  950. the the fish are coming to us. And then

  951. on Sunday,

  952. statistics show that if people don't go

  953. to church on a on a as a usual as a

  954. habit, they will go Christmas

  955. and Easter.

  956. So, we have a job to do this week.

  957. Church, we are going fishing.

  958. >> [applause]

  959. >> It's time to wake up to our purpose.

  960. If you're frustrated at times, maybe

  961. you're not fulfilling your purpose.

  962. That is all of our purpose. So I

  963. encourage you,

  964. be alert. Wake up.

  965. Look and see. See what's out there. See

  966. who you're coming in contact with and

  967. follow on the inside. It won't be a

  968. booming voice. It won't be

  969. uh you know, just uh it may be very

  970. subtle. Ooh, I think I need to just

  971. invite them to come. Grab Grab some

  972. flyers. I'll make it easy for you. You

  973. don't even have to Just all you need to

  974. say is, "Hey, do you have a church to go

  975. to on Easter? I would love for you to

  976. come." We need to become bringers.

  977. Just not even just Not even talking.

  978. Just tell them, "I'll save you a seat.

  979. I'll save you a seat. Come. Come. I'll

  980. be waiting for you at the door." We need

  981. to get out of our comfort zone. Us four

  982. and no more. There's a whole world just

  983. probably in just the radius of our

  984. church. This neighborhood over here. I

  985. cut through to go back over to Memorial

  986. because I Yeah, you know.

  987. It's a mess, and but it's going to be

  988. finished one day. Before Jesus comes,

  989. I'm hoping.

  990. But I we try I drive through that

  991. neighborhood and I think, "Oh my lands.

  992. All these people

  993. All these fish

  994. are waiting to be caught."

  995. Change the way you think.

  996. This includes you.

  997. Well, that's not me. Yes, it includes

  998. you. It includes every one of us. Let's

  999. go

  1000. fishing.

1001. Amen. Amen. Stand on your feet.

  1002. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.

1003. Do you know your purpose?

1004. Do you know your purpose? It begins with

  1005. knowing Jesus.

1006. That's where your purpose begins.

1007. You really have no purpose before that.

1008. That amounts to anything that's eternal.

1009. But we have an eternal purpose.

  1010. An eternal purpose.

1011. Receive him and make him your personal

1012. Lord and savior. If you've never done

1013. that today, today is your day. Step into

1014. Step into God's plan for your life. It's

  1015. a good one.

1016. It's a good one. Like the waiter we

1017. shared with uh I think last week or the

  1018. week before

  1019. >> [music]

1020. >> that we met uh at the restaurant in

  1021. Dallas.

  1022. When uh

1023. got talking to him and I said, "Have you

1024. ever been to Oklahoma?" Um no, but when

1025. I turn 21, I want to go up there and hit

1026. all the bars and the casinos.

  1027. And I just [music]

1028. I can't even believe it just popped out.

1029. I did not even think it. I said, "How

  1030. about the churches?"

  1031. And he said, "Yeah."

1032. Just like that. Yeah. That, too.

1033. And I said, "Do you know Jesus?"

1034. It was so easy. It's like It was like

1035. God set this whole thing up and we

1036. didn't even realize it till when all

  1037. this started happening.

1038. And I said, "Do you know Jesus?" And he

  1039. said,

1040. "Yeah, but I walked away."

1041. And I said, "Let me tell you something."

  1042. He's just 20 years old.

1043. I said, "Let me tell you [music]

1044. something. God's got an amazing plan for

1045. your life. And all you have to do is

1046. turn around and walk towards him."

1047. That's all it takes. One decision. One

1048. decision. I'm going to walk with He

1049. says, "My dad, he's a godly man." He

  1050. says, "I [music] I I know what I need to

1051. be doing." I said, "Okay.

1052. Then I know you're going to do it." I

1053. wanted to pray with him, but the

1054. restaurant was crazy and he was flying

1055. low, but he took time to [music] stand

1056. there and talk to us.

  1057. And I just believe I

1058. I said to pastors as we were driving

  1059. away, I said, "I have a feeling his

1060. dad's been praying for laborers and we

1061. got to be the laborer today."

1062. But I also believe that that [music]

1063. he's doing something about it.

1064. That he made a decision that day. And I

1065. said, "The plan God's got for you is far

1066. greater than anything you could ever

  1067. imagine."

  1068. And he was so

  1069. so open,

  1070. >> [music]

  1071. >> so in tune.

1072. So, there's people like him everywhere.

1073. Everywhere. Our restaurants are full of

  1074. people like him.

1075. Our streets, our malls, shopping shops.

1076. Tulsa is full of people just like him.

1077. Maybe they walked with God at one point

1078. and they turned away. Walked away. I

1079. didn't know that about him, but I'm

1080. telling you what God wants to use you.

1081. He wants to flow his compassion through

1082. you to talk to people this week and the

1083. Holy Ghost will give you the boldness

1084. you need to get out of your comfort

1085. zone. Trust him for that. Trust him for

1086. that. You don't Bold is not rude.

1087. If you're going to be rude, don't tell

  1088. them about World Outreach.

  1089. Don't be rude.

1090. Let the love of God flow through you.

1091. People are open to the love of God

1092. because it's so rare in today's society.

1093. The love of God. [music] The love of

  1094. God.

  1095. So,

  1096. bow your head.

1097. If there's anyone in here No, open your

  1098. eyes.

  1099. I don't know why You know, that's just

1100. one of those traditions that I grew up

1101. with, but you know what?

1102. Why do we bow our heads? Are we

  1103. embarrassed?

1104. Don't have to be embarrassed. If you're

1105. here under the sound of my voice or

  1106. you're watching online

1107. and you say, "You know what? I need to

  1108. find my purpose.

1109. I need to walk in my purpose, but it

1110. begins with knowing Jesus." If you're

1111. here and you've never Maybe number

1112. [music] one, you've never received Jesus

1113. as your Lord. I want you to walk down

1114. here. We're not going to embarrass you,

  1115. I promise. We don't do that. Won't Won't

1116. ask you to say anything.

1117. You If you need to receive Jesus, find

1118. your purpose. Or maybe you've turned

  1119. [music] and you've walked away. You've

1120. been going down your own path. And let

1121. me just tell you, it does not have a

  1122. good end result.

1123. But get on the path God has for you.

1124. [music] He has a plan for you greater

1125. than you can even imagine. Turn around

1126. like that little waiter guy. Turn

1127. around. Make a decision today, I'm going

1128. to the path that God has for me. I'm

1129. walking with him starting today. If

1130. that's you, come on down here. So, the

1131. front is open. We're going to wait about

1132. 2 minutes and then we're going to move

1133. on. So, if that's you, come on down

1134. right now. God is waiting for you.

  1135. >> [music]

1136. >> He's waiting for you. If you need to

1137. meet Jesus for the first time or if

  1138. you've walked away, you've turned and

1139. you need to come back. Basically, come

1140. back home. Come back to [music] Father's

1141. house. If that's you, come on down now.

1142. At all at all at all.

  1143. >> [music]

  1144. >> I'm waiting.

  1145. Waiting for you.

1146. If you're watching online, maybe you say

  1147. that's me.

1148. We're going to pray for you. We're going

  1149. to pray for you.

  1150. Anybody at all.

  1151. >> [music]

1152. >> If you're gripping the back of the seat

1153. in front of you and your knuckles are

  1154. turning white, probably you.

1155. Come on down. Come [music] on down.

1156. Hallelujah. Father, I pray for everyone

1157. under the sound of my voice

1158. that decisions would be made

1159. even after they leave this place

  1160. >> [music]

1161. >> that will greatly affect

1162. their race and what you have for them to

  1163. do.

1164. I thank you, Father [music] God, for

1165. speaking to hearts. Even Even people

1166. watching this long after today.

  1167. They just happened on

1168. this message because they want to know

1169. more about fishing. They love fishing.

  1170. Huh.

1171. Thank you, Father [music] God, for

1172. putting a hook in their mouth.

1173. Thank you for it, Jesus' name.

  1174. Amen.

1175. I need to do one more thing.

1176. So, last night when I was preparing

1177. when I was meditating on the verse in

1178. Matthew 9:36 that said, "When Jesus saw

    Matthew 9:36

1179. the vast crowds of people,

1180. his heart was deeply moved with

  1181. compassion

  1182. because they seemed weary

  1183. and helpless."

1184. When I read that word

  1185. >> [music]

  1186. >> weary,

  1187. compassion

1188. rose up in [music] me.

1189. It was wild. I thought, "Okay, I think

1190. he's demonstrating what I just going to

  1191. preach."

1192. But the compassion of God rose up in me

1193. and I heard on the inside

  1194. voice [music] saying,

  1195. "I'm weary.

  1196. I'm just so weary."

1197. If that's you, I want you to come down

1198. here. I'm going to minister to you.

  1199. >> [music]

  1200. >> If that's you, I know it's someone.

  1201. You're just a weary. You're weary.

  1202. [music]

1203. You're just weary. Come down here right

1204. now. Don't be embarrassed. We all get

1205. weary. Come down here right now. I'm

  1206. weary.

  1207. I'm just [music]

  1208. so weary.

  1209. Yeah.

1210. I've never had anything quite happen

1211. like that. I mean, it was like [music]

  1212. clear blue.

  1213. I'm weary. I could hear your voice. I'm

  1214. weary. I'm just so

  1215. weary.

  1216. Come on. I know there's more.

1217. I know there's [music] more. You wanted

1218. it to change, get down here.

  1219. Jesus said

  1220. >> [music]

  1221. >> in Matthew 11:28,

    Matthew 11:28

1222. "Come to me, all you who are weary

  1223. and burdened and

  1224. >> [music]

  1225. >> I will give you rest."

  1226. Jesus said that.

1227. "Come unto me, all you who are labor who

1228. are weary who are weary. Come unto me,

1229. all you who are weary. Come unto me, all

1230. you who are weary [music] and I will

1231. give you rest." Jesus will give you

  1232. rest.

1233. He went on to say, "Come to me."

1234. And then Isaiah, he said, "He gives

  1235. strength to the weary.

1236. He gives strength to the weary and

1237. increases the power of the weak."

  1238. He gives strength

  1239. to the weary.

1240. He gives [music] rest to the weary.

  1241. These are Bible verses.

  1242. And one [music] more.

1243. Let us not become weary

  1244. in doing good.

1245. For at the proper time, we will reap a

1246. harvest if we do [music] not

  1247. give up.

  1248. Don't give up.

1249. Don't get weary [music] in well doing.

1250. You can get weary in well doing.

1251. And just hit a place where I give up.

1252. No, no, no. He says, "Don't give up."

  1253. >> [music]

1254. >> Don't give up. At the proper time,

1255. there'll be a harvest. In the meantime,

  1256. don't give up. Don't give in.

1257. Because he wants to strengthen you.

1258. And he wants [music] to refresh you this

1259. morning. He wants to give you rest. He

1260. wants to get And I thank you for

  1261. responding.

1262. You know, the devil [music] will get in

1263. your ear. He'll talk to me like he does

  1264. everyone else and

1265. this morning he was like, "Wonder if

1266. nobody responds. Wonder if you missed

1267. them." I thought, "I'd rather miss it

  1268. this way

1269. than miss it the other way." And leave

1270. here and go, "Oh, I should have called

1271. that out." No, I I know when it's the

1272. Holy Ghost. And I'm telling you, I was

1273. upstairs in this room. We call it our

1274. prayer room and I was studying and I was

1275. praying and when this happened, I

  1276. thought,

  1277. "It's God. There's going to be

1278. somebody." I don't care if it was one

1279. person, it was for you or for you or for

1280. you. It was worth it for one person. But

1281. look at all these people. They're all in

  1282. the same

  1283. >> [music]

1284. >> place right now. Situations vary, I'm

1285. sure with every one of you, but all I

1286. want to say is bottom line, Jesus said,

  1287. "I'll give you rest."

1288. He said, [music] "I will strengthen

  1289. you."

1290. When your strength feels depleted, I

1291. [music] will strengthen strengthen you,

  1292. and don't grow weary

  1293. in well-doing. [music]

1294. Keep doing what you know to do. Keep

1295. doing what you know to do. Keep doing

1296. what you know [music] to do. Keep doing

1297. what you know to do. Keep doing what you

1298. know [music] to do. Just keep doing what

  1299. you know to do.

1300. Keep doing what you know to do.

1301. In his presence is fullness and joy, and

1302. at his right hand [music] are pleasures

  1303. evermore.

1304. In his presence is fullness of joy, and

1305. at his right hand are pleasures ever Get

1306. in the presence of God. Make sure you're

1307. spending time in [music] his presence.

1308. Life gets busy. It gets busy, but we

1309. can't allow life to get so busy that it

1310. cuts into our time with him. Find a

1311. time, whether it's in the morning,

1312. whether it's on your lunch break, find a

1313. time to spend with him.

1314. But he's the source. He's the source.

1315. He's the source of our rest. [music]

  1316. Ha.

1317. He'll give you a peace and joy.

1318. Rest from on high. Supernatural rest.

  1319. Supernatural

1320. rest. He'll refresh you with

1321. supernatural rest. Haha. So, you're no

1322. longer weary. You're no longer weary.

  1323. You're no longer weary.

  1324. >> [music]

1325. >> And if you have to go back and read

1326. these three verses over and over and

  1327. over,

  1328. read them.

1329. Read them over yourselves, but I believe

  1330. there's going to be a difference.

  1331. >> [music]

  1332. >> Right now.

  1333. No more.

1334. No more. Right now. Because the spirit
