But this morning I want to ask you
-
another question.
-
My husband tells me I ask way too many
-
questions.
-
>> [laughter]
-
>> I ask questions a lot, but you don't
-
have answers unless you ask questions.
-
So I have another question for you. Do
-
you know who you are?
-
Do you know who you are?
-
Knowing who you are is not just your
-
name,
-
address, occupation.
-
It goes way deeper than that.
-
It's having an understanding of
-
something that science discovered in the
-
early 1900s.
-
And something that God created and put
-
in Adam and Eve at the very beginning.
-
Scientists It took them a few years to
-
discover it. It's called DNA.
-
DNA. What is DNA? It is the genetic
-
information inside the cells of our body
-
that makes us who we are.
-
It determines our hair color, our skin
-
color.
-
Uh it determines all of those all of
-
those as well as characteristics,
-
certain characteristics.
-
And uh for instance, and it's passed
-
down from both parents. For instance, I
-
have my mother's color eyes.
-
I used to have my mom's color hair.
-
That was a very long time ago.
-
She was a brunette.
-
I have my dad's skin coloring. He was
-
very olive-complected. I have his skin
-
coloring. I got my love for music from
-
my mom.
-
And I got my dad's sense of humor.
-
But I got my lack of ability to get
-
jokes from both of them.
-
>> [gasps]
-
>> Neither one of them could tell a joke or
-
get a joke. So our genetics are strong.
-
And I'm sure you can sit there and think
-
about what you inherited from maybe your
-
mom and your dad. It's DNA that that's
-
the basis of those of those
-
characteristics. But I want to say this,
-
no one else in the world has my DNA.
-
No one else in the world has your DNA.
-
It is unique to each of us. Even
-
identical twins. Their I their their DNA
-
is the closest
-
possible, but they're still not the DNA
-
is not identical. There'll be
-
differences that will show up over time.
-
No one has our DNA. No one has your DNA
-
because I DNA
-
is our identity.
-
It's who we are, our identity. And you
-
know what? I In all the years of
-
traveling, I think about this a lot cuz
-
I see all the the different
-
nationalities and and different people
-
around the world and there's just
-
millions and millions of people and
-
there's really no two people that have
-
the same DNA. Is that crazy?
-
That's something only God could do.
-
But over time medical science has
-
developed a way to test DNA
-
to determine uh people's history, family
-
history, genealogy. And so, you know, my
-
daddy used to go around the house
-
singing, "I'm glad I'm a Cherokee."
-
That was the only line he would sing.
-
He'd walk in the kitchen singing, "I'm
-
glad I'm a Cherokee."
-
He'd walk in the back door singing, "I'm
-
glad I'm a Cherokee." And I'd think,
-
"Really?" But I grew up thinking, "Okay,
-
but if he's a Cherokee, I'm I got some
-
Cherokee in me."
-
Until a few years ago when I went and
-
talked to my uncle, my dad's brother,
-
and we were talking about our our
-
genealogy and he said, "Well." I said,
-
"Yeah, daddy used to talk about being a
-
Cherokee all the time." He said, "We're
-
not Cherokee." I'm like, "What?
-
My daddy said we were and he sang it
-
forever." He says, "We're not Cherokee.
-
He said we're Quapaw."
-
I said, "Qua who?"
-
I've heard of Navajo. I have had heard
-
of Sioux. I've heard of all of them, but
-
never had I heard of Quapaw. Come to
-
find out there is a Quapaw Oklahoma. I
-
see cars now with Quapaw license plates.
-
I'm like,
-
Quapaw. There's also a casino there.
-
Ask me how I know. No, I did it not go.
-
>> [laughter]
-
>> Wait. Wait.
-
Wait a minute. I did not go. No, we were
-
on a flight one time and we were sitting
-
in front of this guy talking to someone
-
else. He was just coming back from DC.
-
He'd been in DC meeting of Indian
-
leaders or whatever. And he was talking
-
about a Quapaw. I heard him using the
-
word Quapaw. So when we were getting off
-
the flight, I turned around and said,
-
"Did I hear you you know say something
-
about Quapaw?" He said, "Yeah, I did." I
-
said, "Well, I'm told that I I got
-
Quapaw." He goes, "Really?" I said,
-
"Yeah, and um I said but my grandma,
-
grandpa, whatever never registered." He
-
goes, "Well, that's too bad cuz there's
-
a casino in Quapaw in Quapaw Oklahoma
-
that you could come to free." I said,
-
"Oh well, that's that's okay."
-
Whatever. But I will tell you this, a
-
few days ago
-
my nephew
-
uh on my well, my nephew texted me and
-
he said, "Pawpaw was right all along."
-
And I'm This was just this week. And I
-
said, "What do you mean?" He said, "I
-
started doing some some genealogy, you
-
know, tracking it, going back and
-
looking at family lines." And he said,
-
"We have Cherokee on
-
on my grandmother's side, his
-
great-grandmother, and we have Quapaw on
-
our grandpa's side." So I said, "Okay
-
then. I am part Cherokee and I'm part
-
Quapaw." So I That's all I wanted to
-
tell you about that.
-
It's amazing what you find out. Finding
-
out who we are is what we're trying to
-
figure it out. So that was good to know,
-
but I still wanted to know more. I was
-
just curious. And so I got on this
-
ancestry.com.
-
Anybody ever done that?
-
Uh-huh, a few of you have. Sometimes it
-
turns out good, sometimes it doesn't
-
turn out so good. But I found out that
-
my relatives, my ancestors, came from
-
various parts of Europe. The most
-
surprising thing was like 42% uh
-
Scotland. I'm like, "What? I've never
-
never heard of my relatives coming from
-
Scotland." But came from Scotland, but I
-
started Googling uh names actually and I
-
thought, "Yeah, part of my family's
-
names are Scottish." And then it said
-
42% Scotland, 36% from England and
-
Northwestern Europe, which is
-
Switzerland, France, Luxembourg,
-
Belgium, that whole little area of
-
countries. Um and then and then others
-
uh that it listed, all European all
-
European uh countries. And so
-
I thought, "Well, this is good. This is
-
interesting." And I then it said that
-
the DNA showed that my ancestors, when
-
they came to America, they settled in
-
South Carolina, South Alabama, and the
-
Florida panhandle panhandle. The DNA
-
testing showed all that and I'm like,
-
"Well, that's right." Because uh my
-
mom's family is all from Atmore, Alabama
-
down into Pensacola where my mom's
-
family still lives to this day. I have
-
lots of cousins and family in Pensacola.
-
But um fun fact, you like fun facts?
-
Fun fact. Years ago I was told that I
-
was related to Elvis Presley.
-
My grandmother's maiden name was
-
Presley.
-
And she was from my grandmother,
-
great-grandmother, they all came from
-
that lower Alabama uh Atmore, Alabama
-
area. And they said that back in the
-
day, years and years ago, that Elvis
-
Presley's family was also from that same
-
general area as well as my my
-
grandmother's family. And they had a
-
feud.
-
His family and my grandmother's family.
-
And his family ended up moving to
-
Mississippi where Elvis was born and
-
raised. But uh my family all stayed in
-
lower Alabama in the panhandle. So Elvis
-
is a cousin
-
or something. I just thought you might
-
like that.
-
So, but another fun fact is we found
-
when I'm just I'm I'm laying a
-
foundation. So don't don't go don't go
-
spacey on me. Don't go to lunch on me.
-
Just stay stay engaged. So another fun
-
fact, we adopted a puppy in 2021.
-
We had had up to that point a great
-
pyrenees that weighed 150 lb. We had him
-
for 8 years. And as soon as he passed
-
away, we got ourselves a newfoundland.
-
She was only 110 lb. So we downsized. So
-
but our hearts were broken when we lost
-
uh Cherokee Ruth as her name was.
-
And so a couple weeks later uh I talked
-
pastor into taking me by a puppy haven
-
rescue viewing
-
show. Except I didn't tell him we were
-
going there. I said
-
Well, I said I wanted ice cream, which I
-
did.
-
So we left to go get I said, "Let's go
-
to the ice cream place up near Utica or
-
north." And so we did it on the way. I
-
said, "Can we make a stop on the way?"
-
So anytime he said we should have named
-
our puppy ice cream.
-
>> [laughter]
-
>> Which we should have. But anyway, we
-
walked in and there was this cutest
-
black and white ball of fluff
-
that the minute I saw him, the minute I
-
laid my eyes on him,
-
I I fell in love with him. So we filled
-
out the papers to adopt him and we were
-
chosen to adopt him. And but we had no
-
clue what we had adopted. The you know,
-
the the the the pyrenees we knew, you
-
know, that's going to be a big dog. The
-
newfoundland we knew, she's going to be
-
a big dog. But this one we're like,
-
"Okay, this is definitely a step of
-
faith. We have no idea what we just
-
adopted." And someone told us we could
-
do a DNA testing on animals. Anybody
-
know that?
-
Okay, well we did it. We sent it off and
-
it came back and it told us that
-
Atlas is Australian cattle dog, which
-
means he jumps and clears the ground
-
like like clears the ground all four
-
legs. Australian cattle dog and he herds
-
me. Great pyrenees
-
and a golden retriever.
-
So, he loves to play fetch. The other
-
two, I could throw it and they look at
-
me like, "If you want it, you go get
-
it." I had never had a dog that plays
-
fetch. So, we've got this dog and he
-
only weighs 54 lb. That's huge not
-
hugely less than the other ones. So,
-
just So, I found out that So, hey, if
-
you've got an animal you don't know what
-
you got, go get him DNA tested.
-
I said all this to say, just as we all
-
have natural DNA.
-
Each one of us have a unique
-
unique to each of you, our natural DNA.
-
This morning I want to talk to you about
-
spiritual DNA.
-
Because
-
as a child of God, we have the DNA of
-
our heavenly Father.
-
Comes from the parents. We have you have
-
the DNA of your heavenly Father. And
-
that DNA is far more important than any
-
natural DNA. That spiritual DNA will
-
always supersede natural DNA.
-
Which means sickness, disease,
-
oppression, depression, addiction, it
-
cannot be passed down from generation to
-
generation if we know our spiritual DNA.
-
I hear people talk about the
-
generational curse. I don't believe in
-
that. Because that curse was broken when
-
Jesus became my Lord. When I got the DNA
-
of God, uh-uh. Spiritual DNA over over
-
see supersedes over is greater than
-
natural DNA.
-
So, just because your grandmother and
-
your aunt
-
and maybe your mother all dealt with
-
cancer does not mean you have to dread
-
getting cancer.
-
Just because your dad and your grandpa
-
were alcoholics does not mean you have
-
to be an alcoholic.
-
Just because everyone in your family has
-
anxiety and issues of the mind does not
-
mean you have to go through life dealing
-
with issues.
-
You have a different DNA now. You have
-
the supernatural DNA, the spiritual DNA.
-
Not the natural, the spiritual DNA
-
supersedes the natural DNA and breaks
-
that curse.
-
But how do you know that, they say. Oh,
-
also just because my mom and my dad
-
both dealt with dementia
-
does not mean
-
I will have to deal with dementia.
-
Because why? Because I know that I have
-
the spiritual DNA of my heavenly Father
-
and he does not have memory issues.
-
Thank you, Minnie.
-
Our spiritual DNA is our true identity.
-
Our spiritual DNA is who we are in him.
-
Acts 17 says, "In him we live and move
-
and have our being." Why? Because we are
-
his children.
-
We are his children. So, we identify You
-
know, you hear a lot of it today about
-
who do you identify with? Well, I
-
identify with a cat. No.
-
Who do we identify with? We identify
-
with our heavenly Father and his DNA.
-
That's who we identify with. And just as
-
my natural DNA revealed my natural
-
genealogy, so I told you all that.
-
Because it revealed my natural genealogy
-
just from my DNA. Our spiritual DNA will
-
reveal our spiritual genealogy and who
-
we really are.
-
You wonder who you are?
-
Look at your spiritual genealogy. John
-
1:12 says, "But as many as received him,
-
he gave the authority to become the
-
children of God. That is those who
-
believe in his name." When we received
-
Jesus, we became sons and daughters of
-
God. And with that authority to be his
-
children, he gave us what's called power
-
of attorney.
-
When my parents were getting up in
-
years, they I went to see them in
-
Florida.
-
My mom said had this this document She
-
says, "We want to make give you power of
-
attorney because you're our oldest
-
daughter." And I said, "Okay." And she
-
said, "Which means you will act in our
-
stead. You'll be able to make decisions
-
for us regarding business affairs,
-
regarding banking, regarding uh medical
-
things down the road." She said, "You
-
will be the one to make the decisions."
-
I thought, "Oh, great. No pressure."
-
No, she said, "Someone has to and it's
-
it's you." And so, they they drew up a
-
document. It was a legal document that
-
gave me the authority.
-
Power of attorney.
-
We have been given a legal document.
-
It's the word of God that gives us and
-
says we are children of God.
-
And because we are children of God, we
-
have been given power of attorney.
-
That's why in Mark 16, Jesus said, "In
-
his name
-
in his name, not in my name, it's in his
-
name, we can cast out devils, we can
-
speak with new tongues, we can take up
-
serpents and they won't hurt us, we can
-
drink any deadly thing it won't hurt us,
-
and we can lay hands on the sick and
-
they shall recover." Power of attorney
-
in his name.
-
All of this is possible because of our
-
spiritual
-
DNA.
-
Spiritual DNA because we are children of
-
God.
-
And then the Bible goes on to say
-
regarding our spiritual ID identity or
-
DNA says, "But you are a chosen
-
generation,
-
a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a
-
peculiar people, that we should show
-
forth the praises of him who has called
-
us out of darkness into his marvelous
-
light. That is who we are." We're chosen
-
by God.
-
We're made We've been made to be
-
royalty. Royalty because our Father's a
-
king.
-
We're a peculiar people. That's not
-
weird.
-
I'll repeat that. Peculiar is not weird,
-
but what it means is he took the
-
ordinary
-
and he made us extraordinary.
-
So, we can take our place as children of
-
God and use the God-given authority that
-
he's given us. But if we don't know who
-
we are, if we don't know our spiritual
-
DNA, then we'll never live like God
-
intended us to live, which is takes us
-
which is exercising our authority over
-
the kingdom of darkness.
-
It doesn't matter how old you are, how
-
young you are.
-
Doesn't matter how tall you are, how
-
short you are. Each of us has authority
-
because we are a child of God to
-
exercise over the kingdom of darkness.
-
Paul said in this 1 Corinthians 3, he
-
says, "Are you not acting
-
like mere humans?"
-
We're not supposed to be acting like the
-
world. They are mere humans. They've not
-
been changed into children of God. "Are
-
you not acting like mere humans?"
-
Another translation says, "Are you not
-
walking like ordinary people?"
-
We're not ordinary anymore.
-
We're extraordinary because life as
-
usual ended when God became our Father
-
and we took on his DNA. And because of
-
his DNA, for sickness and
-
sickness and disease, we have health.
-
For poverty, we have wealth.
-
For weakness, we have his strength.
-
For hatred, we have his love.
-
For anxiety, we have peace of mind.
-
For fear, we've got faith. And for
-
sickness or sadness, we have joy.
-
That is our DNA. That is your DNA.
-
And when the reality of who we are
-
really
-
sets in
-
and we realize what that spiritual DNA
-
will enable us to do, it will cause us
-
to live in a place of victory. Not just
-
be up and down like a yo-yo. Having a
-
good day today, yep, so you know, you're
-
up. Tomorrow not so good, so you're
-
going to be down in the valley. No, no,
-
no, no, no. He's evened it out. He's
-
evened it out. We can walk in a place
-
Where's that place? It's in him.
-
We can walk in a place of victory over
-
sickness, disease, oppression,
-
addiction, and whatever else the devil
-
throws at us.
-
You say, "Why and how?" Jesus said,
-
"I am come
-
that you might have life
-
and have it more abundantly." He's
-
talking about the God kind of life.
-
The God kind of life, his life, his DNA
-
in us.
-
In Romans 8, the Apostle Paul said, "For
-
the law of the spirit of life in Christ
-
Jesus has set me free from the law of
-
sin and death." I'm telling you, I
-
cannot tell you how many times over the
-
last years and years
-
have symptoms tried to hit my body and
-
if I will take about 30 minutes to an
-
hour and shut myself away and listen to
-
the word of God, healing scriptures,
-
healing scriptures because the spirit of
-
life in Christ Jesus sets me free from
-
the law of sin and death and sickness.
-
And I'll come out and I'll be just fine.
-
So, there's something about his name.
-
There's something about his word. Then
-
Jesus said in Matthew 16, "I will give
-
you keys of the kingdom of heaven.
-
Whatever you bound will be bound.
-
Whatever you loose will be loosed in
-
heaven." He's given us keys. Keys. Now,
-
I have keys to this building, but not
-
everyone has keys.
-
Our staff has the authority to have keys
-
and they use them. But God has given us
-
keys to use. What is that? Is our
-
authority. He's given us authority in
-
the name of Jesus. Power of attorney.
-
Whatever you want to call it, we have
-
authority over the power of the devil.
-
That spiritual DNA will also
-
enable us to go boldly
-
into the presence of God
-
24/7,
-
day or night, it doesn't matter.
-
My daddy was a pastor and and
-
I can remember going to the church
-
during the day. He'd be in his office
-
working and there was usually a
-
secretary outside his office and but I
-
didn't have to make an appointment to
-
see my daddy
-
because I was his daughter.
-
We don't have to make appointments
-
to spend time with him because we are
-
his sons and his daughters. We can go
-
boldly. In fact, one translation says we
-
can go into his presence anytime with
-
confidence, knowing who we are, with
-
confidence and knowing we belong there.
-
Is there's no condemnation? None
-
whatsoever. He says come on in not
-
because of our own goodness, but because
-
of who he's made us to be. His spiritual
-
DNA is in us. So, we go into his
-
presence and Ephesians tells us we are
-
seated with him
-
seated with him in the heavenlies in
-
Christ Jesus.
-
I think sometimes we tend to forget that
-
we have a seat, a reserved seat with our
-
name on it.
-
We just need to take our seat.
-
Take your seat.
-
You're seated with him in the
-
heavenlies. Take your seat and don't let
-
anything get you out of your seat.
-
Seated with him. Seated with him. That's
-
That is our place. We're not seated with
-
We're not seated down here.
-
We're not to look this way, but we're to
-
look down on things because we are
-
seated with him in the heavenlies.
-
Naturally speaking
-
um
-
identity theft is a huge problem.
-
And the devil will try to steal your
-
identity.
-
He doesn't want you knowing who you are.
-
He wants you to doubt who you are. Uh if
-
I can do this to them, they'll they'll
-
go oh wow wow. No, don't let them steal
-
your identity. I remember years ago I'd
-
been speaking at a ladies conference in
-
California.
-
I'd finished and I'd gone to the
-
airport. I was sitting at the gate. I
-
had already checked in.
-
Sitting at the gate waiting and um I set
-
my purse down by my feet and was just uh
-
reading. I don't even know what I was
-
just sitting there and then when they
-
began to call the rows for the for the
-
flight, I looked down and my purse was
-
gone.
-
Gone. Still to this day I have no idea
-
how someone got it from my feet. They
-
said it was a professional. Somehow he
-
was behind me, figured out how to pull
-
it out. I don't know, but my purse was
-
gone, my ID was gone, my credit cards
-
were gone, my boarding pass was gone. I
-
had these old photos that I had carried
-
in my purse cuz they meant some meant
-
were very special to me. Everything was
-
gone. There was no sign of anything. So,
-
I went up to the desk to the agent I
-
said, "We have an issue here. My purse
-
is gone. I have nothing."
-
She said, "Well, I'm the one that
-
checked you in. We don't have time for
-
you to deal with it now. Get on the
-
flight. When you get to Dallas, go to a
-
phone and this and get a hold of your
-
credit card company." So, I did.
-
When I got to Dallas, went to a phone,
-
called my credit card company and when
-
they pulled it up, they said in a matter
-
of however long it takes to get to
-
Dallas, 3 hours,
-
um
-
he had put thousands
-
thousands of dollars on my credit card.
-
He tried to steal my identity.
-
That's what the devil does.
-
He'll be very sly. He'll just sneak in
-
and and try to catch you off guard to
-
steal your spiritual identity. Don't let
-
him do it. Don't let him do it. I'll
-
just I'll add this. I remember when I
-
got home, you know, I was pretty like oh
-
man, I can't believe this has happened
-
to me. It never had happened before. So,
-
I thought, you know what? I know what to
-
do.
-
I'm going to send my angels out.
-
I wanted those photos back. I could care
-
less about the purse. We'd stopped the
-
credit card. I can get another ID, but I
-
wanted those photos back.
-
So, I sent my angels out to go find
-
my photos.
-
>> [sighs]
-
>> I don't even remember how weeks and
-
weeks and weeks It was like a couple
-
months later. I got a phone call and I
-
Looking back last night I was thinking
-
about all of this remembering and I
-
thought I don't even know who called me.
-
It might have been the police. Um filed
-
a report. I don't know, but I got a
-
phone call from someone that said you
-
Did you lose some photos? Did you I
-
said, "Well, yeah." And they said they
-
were found in some bushes on a college
-
campus and someone one of the students
-
turned them in.
-
And they said, "Would you like them
-
back?" I'm like, "Yes, I want my photos
-
back." I didn't get anything back else
-
back, but I got my photos and they
-
mailed them to me. Miracle of miracles.
-
But the devil was trying to steal my
-
personal ID and he was also trying to
-
steal my spiritual ID. So, um
-
he's got specific ways that he'll do it.
-
One way is through discouragement.
-
It's discouragement. Um let me
-
Let me look where I'm looking here.
-
Discouragement.
-
He'll make us believe we aren't who we
-
are.
-
And if we focus on if we focus on who we
-
aren't
-
instead of who we are, it will open the
-
door to discouragement because
-
discouragement gets our eyes off who we
-
are and back on who we were.
-
I'm going to say that again.
-
Discouragement gets our eyes off of who
-
we are and back on
-
who we were. We don't have to live in
-
the past. He doesn't want us to live in
-
the past. Second Corinthians 5:17 says
-
we are a new creature in Christ. All
-
things are passed away. Behold, all
-
things are new. Our past, your past is
-
gone forever. So, don't let Satan bring
-
you down by reminding you of your past.
-
God doesn't remember. So, why would we
-
let Satan Why would we let Satan remind
-
us about a person that doesn't exist
-
anymore?
-
Because we are a new creature. The New
-
Living Translation says the old life is
-
gone and a new life has begun. Keep your
-
eyes on the word. Keep your eyes on the
-
word and what God says about you. Also,
-
another tactic that the devil will use
-
is offense.
-
If he can get us offended, it opens the
-
door for unforgiveness and that's the
-
opposite of the spiritual DNA that's on
-
the inside of us because we have the
-
love of God on the inside of us. But
-
what happens is something happens
-
we let it we get offended. It hurts our
-
feelings or whatever. But let me just
-
say this, we have to love our the word
-
of God more than we love our feelings.
-
Offense will lure us into a trap.
-
And uh and then once that door closes,
-
we're caught.
-
Offense, getting offended. Jesus said
-
this. He said speaking of the last days,
-
many shall be offended. Many shall be
-
offended and betray one another. We must
-
not allow ourselves to be part of the
-
many. It's a choice. And let me just say
-
this, second-hand offense is just as
-
bad.
-
Your friend gets offended. Your friend
-
comes and tells you what someone did or
-
said and then you get offended at that
-
person, too, because they offended your
-
friend.
-
Second-hand offense
-
is hazardous to your health.
-
Don't allow yourself to get offended, a
-
second-hand offense. No. You choose to
-
walk in that love of God because it will
-
end up in a in a place of unforgiveness
-
and then that's going to affect your
-
faith. Your prayers aren't going to get
-
answered. Your faith's not going to work
-
all because you got offended. So, you
-
see how the devil will endeavor to get
-
you offended when you least expect it,
-
by usually those closest to you, to keep
-
your faith from working.
-
To get you out of who you are.
-
Paul said in Acts, "Herein do I exercise
-
myself to have always a conscience void
-
of offense towards God and towards man."
-
You know, we get offended at people.
-
Usually people closest to us. We get
-
offended. We We just something happens.
-
You something is said that shouldn't
-
have been said or you get your feelings
-
hurt. We get offended, but you know
-
what? A lot of people get offended at
-
God
-
because they blame God for something
-
that happened that he had absolutely
-
nothing to do with.
-
Keep it straight. The devil steals,
-
kills, and destroys. Jesus said, "I came
-
that you might have life." Make sure
-
you're not offended at God. We know
-
people that have gone through life
-
offended, ticked
-
at God because they blame him for
-
someone that died.
-
When he it
-
God had nothing to do with it. God's
-
into life. So, we need to keep it
-
straight.
-
Psalms 119, "Great peace have they which
-
love thy law and nothing shall offend
-
them."
-
That is a verse I got hold of shortly
-
after we got married. I won't go into
-
the story now cuz we're running late,
-
but you all know my You all know my my
-
mowing machine story.
-
Oh, you don't know my mow Who doesn't
-
has never heard my mowing machine story?
-
Raise your hands. If you've never heard
-
my mowing machine story. Okay, that's
-
that's enough to I'll tell it really
-
really really really quick.
-
Do you give me an extra 5 minutes? Give
-
me a
-
Raise your hand if you give me an extra
-
5 minutes. Okay, that's about another
-
hour. So, good. We're good.
-
>> [laughter]
-
>> So, we hadn't been married very long and
-
we were driving everywhere we were
-
going. We were on our way to Michigan to
-
minister and we stopped in Rolla at the
-
Wendy's. Back in those days Wendy's had
-
salad bars and we ate there a lot. And
-
so, we were sitting there and again, you
-
know, hadn't been married very long.
-
We're sitting there eating our salad,
-
sitting there and and I'm just eating my
-
salad. All of a sudden, he says to me,
-
"You're going through that salad like a
-
mowing machine."
-
>> [laughter]
-
>> And I remember, I thought, "What did he
-
just say?"
-
But I didn't say anything.
-
Tears
-
started coming down my cheeks, dropping
-
into my salad, and I slowed down a
-
little bit.
-
But I thought, my my new husband thinks
-
I'm a mowing machine.
-
That is the worst thing he could have
-
ever said. You know, I wanted him to
-
think I'm just this wonderful wife. He's
-
so happy he found He says, "I'm going
-
through a salad like a mowing machine?"
-
I couldn't think of anything mean to say
-
back to him.
-
But today I could, probably.
-
Something about how slow he eats. I'm
-
still the mowing machine, and I got to
-
come up with something for him. No, we
-
got in the car and we continued our
-
drive to Michigan, and it was really
-
quiet.
-
Really quiet for hours, and he's like,
-
"Something wrong? Did I say something
-
wrong?" I'm like, "What?
-
Come on, man. Don't be so clueless."
-
Then yeah, you told me I was a mowing
-
machine. So, we had to work that out.
-
But shortly after that incident, I
-
thought, "You know what? I I was very
-
sensitive when we got married. I just
-
was. And so
-
And so I'd made a decision that, "You
-
know what? I got to get I got to get it
-
together in this in this area." So, I
-
found that verse, "Great peace have they
-
which love thy law, and nothing shall
-
offend them." I have lived by that verse
-
for 47 years. I live by No, am I Do I
-
always hit it? No, maybe not quite, but
-
I try. I will not be offended. I will
-
not allow myself to be offended, because
-
if I get offended, it opens the door for
-
unforgiveness, and then it opens the
-
word the door for every evil work. So,
-
if you're married, you might want to
-
remember that verse, Psalms 190. If
-
you're not married, you really want to
-
remember that verse.
-
So, and then one other area, and we're
-
going to close. One area
-
that will steal your identity, that the
-
devil will use. So, he'll use
-
uh what we've talked about so far, but
-
he will use
-
your mouth.
-
He'll use your mouth to steal your own
-
identity.
-
When we took the DNA test, we had to
-
spit
-
inside of a little tube.
-
And they then we send it off with our
-
saliva from our mouth in that tube.
-
When we tested Atlas,
-
do you know how we had to test his DNA?
-
We had to swab
-
the inside of his mouth.
-
Your mouth will reveal your natural DNA,
-
and your mouth will reveal your
-
spiritual DNA.
-
What are we saying? Are we saying who we
-
are, or we saying who we were?
-
Jesus asked his disciples, "Who do you
-
say that I am?" So, I ask you today, who
-
do you say you are? Who do you say you
-
are? Who are you saying Who are your
-
words agreeing with? God, what he says
-
about your situation, or what's
-
happening? Make sure your words are
-
lining up with what God says about you,
-
who you are, who you are. We have to
-
make sure our words are powerful. Our
-
words will either
-
mess us up, or our words will set us
-
free. Make sure your words agree with
-
what he says, and remember that anything
-
the devil tells you,
-
anything, a thought, whatever, anything
-
the devil tells you, if it doesn't line
-
up with the word of God, it's a lie.
-
It's not coming from God, because he is,
-
the Bible says, the father of lies. He
-
cannot tell the truth. There is no truth
-
in him. So, recognize the difference. If
-
a thought comes that says, "You're going
-
to die early," nip it in the bud.
-
Don't believe it. Don't agree with it.
-
Say out of your mouth, "With long life
-
WITH LONG LIFE
-
YOU'LL SATISFY me
-
and show me your salvation."
-
Get your mouth moving. Get your mouth
-
moving. Your mouth will reveal your DNA
-
spiritually. We have to be bold to
-
declare who we are, who we are, our ID,
-
who we are I I our
-
DNA, our identity in him. And so, before
-
we go, I want us to do one thing. We're
-
going to put it up on the screen. Go
-
ahead and put it up there. We're going
-
to put it up on the screen the ABCs of
-
being in Christ. And so, we're going to
-
go through them together. Woo! Can you
-
read those?
-
Okay, I want you to stand up. Change
-
your position. The ABCs of being in
-
Christ. At the Let's read them out loud
-
together. This tells you who you are,
-
who we are in him. Here we go. I am able
-
to do all things through Christ. I am
-
blessed by the Lord in all things. I am
-
personally chosen by God. I am delivered
-
from Satan's kingdom. I am enriched in
-
everything. I am favored by God. I am
-
guided by the Holy Spirit. I am healed
-
by the stripes of Jesus. I am made in
-
the image of God. I am full of the joy
-
of the Lord. I am kept by the power of
-
God. I am satisfied with long life. I
-
have mountain-moving faith in my life.
-
I am made new in Christ. I am an
-
overcomer in Christ. I am protected in
-
Christ. I am qualified to be an heir of
-
God. I am redeemed from the curse of the
-
law. I have a sound mind in Christ. I am
-
triumphant in Christ. I am united with
-
Christ. I am victorious over sin and
-
death. I am washed by the blood of the
-
lamb. I am becoming exactly who God
-
created me to be. My yoke is easy in
-
Christ. I am zealous OF GOOD WORKS.
-
OKAY, I CAN READ YOUR MIND. OH, I wish I
-
had a copy of there. There's a QR code.
-
If you If you download the QR code or
-
focus on the QR code,
-
uh it will take you to our website, and
-
then all you have to do is download it
-
off our website, and it will go on your
-
device. So,
-
if y'all want it, this I keep this in my
-
Bible. I go over this on a very regular
-
basis, daily basis, just because it puts
-
me in remembrance of who I am.
-
Don't ever get to where I know who I am.
-
Yeah, I know who I am. No, it's good
-
that you know who you are, but remind
-
yourself, and remind the devil. Say it
-
out loud with the words of your mouth.
-
So, if you want it there, if you don't
-
know how to do that, or you don't have a
-
device with you, you can go by the
-
Connect Center. We printed some off for
-
you. You can grab a hard color copy if
-
you would prefer. But right now,
-
let's pray.
-
Father, I thank you.
-
I thank you for your word that tells us
-
who we are.
-
We're so grateful for the name.
-
We're so grateful for your word.
-
We're so grateful for our spiritual DNA
-
that supersedes our natural DNA. We're
-
so thankful that in you in you we have
-
life. In you we have healing. In you we
-
can walk in victory in every situation.
-
We take our seat with you in the
-
heavenlies. That is our place. Devil
-
can't get us out of our place, but we
-
thank you for it.
-
The plan of redemption for
-
the ages.
-
Thank you for making us a child of
-
yours. A [snorts] child of yours. A
-
child of yours.
-
Hallelujah. I want to ask a quick
-
question before we go. Is there anyone
-
under the sound of my voice or online
-
that you say, "You know what? I want to
-
be a child of God. I want that
-
spiritual supernatural DNA on the
-
inside. I've never made that decision.
-
I've never made that step." But if
-
that's you, or if you'd say, "Yeah, I I
-
did that when I was a kid, and I walked
-
away.
-
>> [music]
-
>> I walked away. I'm not I need to return
-
home to Father's house." If that's you,
-
I want I want a hand. I want to see a
-
hand. If it's either one of those, if
-
you've never received Jesus, you need
-
that supernatural spiritual DNA change,
-
um
-
or if you um have
-
have never or you need to come back home
-
to Father's house, so to speak.
-
Okay, I see that hand. Is there anyone
-
else?
-
I'm going to open it up right now,
-
because we're going to not going to
-
embarrass you. Not going to ask you to
-
to speak to you know, say anything
-
publicly. Of course, I would never do
-
that. But if you'll come up,
-
we're just going to have you go with
-
this couple on the front row, and
-
they're just going to take you right
-
outside the doors, just so that you can
-
um
-
the lead you to Jesus, and pray a prayer
-
with them, so that you know that you
-
know that you know. Yes, come on, dear.
-
Yay!
-
Is there anybody else that you want to
-
say, "I'm coming to I'm coming to I'll
-
follow"? Maybe you've walked away. If
-
you've walked away, come on back home.
-
Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on.
-
Anybody else? We'll wait here about 30
-
seconds for you. Anybody else?
-
>> [laughter]
-
>> Anybody else? Is somebody coming?
-
I hear yes. I hear yes. If you're
-
coming, come on.
-
Come on now. Come on.
-
I'm waiting.
-
I'm waiting. Come on. Come on.
-
>> [music]
-
>> Come on. I don't
-
Oh, good. Hi. Hey.
-
Somebody else coming? Here, come stand
-
right here and face me.
-
Hi, doll. What's your name? Come Come
-
face me. You don't have to face Bill.
-
Forget they're even there. [music]
-
Brooke? Oh. What's your name? Uh
-
Richard. Richard? All right. Thank you
-
for coming forward. Thank you [music] so
-
much and I believe that after today
-
you're going to be a new creature in
-
Christ or if you've [music] if you've
-
been away you're going to come back and
-
God's got the most amazing life. That
-
spiritual DNA [music] is going to be on
-
the inside of you. His DNA is going to
-
be on the inside of you. So Father I
-
thank [music] you right now. I pray for
-
them as they go they make a decision
-
that is going to turn their lives
-
around.
-
>> [music]
-
>> Literally a fresh start. A fresh start.
-
Thank you Jesus for doing what only you
-
can do
-
>> [music]
-
>> in Jesus name. Amen. If you'll go with
-
this couple they're going to take you
-
just for a few very few minutes and
-
you're going to come back in a new way.
-
Yeah.
-
>> [applause]
-
[music]
