-
Come on, let's just give him one last
-
shout of praise.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Praise God.
-
Praise God. Praise God. Well, I'm
-
stirred up already. How about you?
-
Praise God. Well, listen. Would you turn
-
around and shake hands with a person or
-
two and then you may be seated?
-
Praise God. Praise God.
-
Amen. Anything is possible. Amen.
-
Hallelujah. Well, praise God. Welcome to
-
uh WLC on a Wednesday night, Wednesday
-
evening. Praise God. Uh I'm excited.
-
Always bring my expectation and uh God
-
is so good. Amen. Always doing a new
-
thing. Praise God. Well, listen. I just
-
want to say welcome to youth. So glad
-
all of you guys decided to come out and
-
uh be with us tonight. Some of Did
-
anybody get a little wet at all? No. Oh,
-
I kind of got drenched uh as I was
-
heading to my car. So, my hair looks a
-
little wet. It's not the oil. It's not
-
the glory. It's just a little rain. Um
-
but uh praise God. We believe in it.
-
Amen. Um so, uh listen, welcome. If
-
you're a first- time guest, we want to
-
say welcome to World Outreach Church.
-
You're going to be blessed. We're so
-
glad you're here. Let's give it up for
-
any first- time guests. Praise God.
-
And listen, if you are that guest, would
-
you text the word welcome to
-
918-2157066?
-
Uh text that. And uh there's a little uh
-
I think little information there you can
-
fill out. And so what you'll get is a a
-
thing that you can take to the cafe uh
-
or there's a card in the seat back in
-
front of you. And we would like to bless
-
you with a free drink. Amen. There's
-
some good stuff back there. Um and so uh
-
just a couple of quick announcements. We
-
have WOC Young Adults. Come on. A a
-
gathering happening this Sunday at 6 PM.
-
I'm excited about that. We're going to
-
be meeting right here uh in the WOC cafe
-
and uh it's just a good time of
-
connection, worship, teaching from God's
-
word. Amen. And so this is these these
-
meetings, these times that we come
-
together just designed to encourage,
-
challenge, and equip you. Amen. How many
-
of you know we have to be challenged
-
sometimes? If you're just coasting and
-
you feel like you've arrived, I don't
-
know about that. Amen. So, it's just a
-
good time to get challenged. So, please
-
come out to that. Bring a friend. come
-
expected and ready to engage. Amen. It's
-
been so good. I'm excited about that.
-
And then also guys, we still have prayer
-
group open enrollment taking place. Uh
-
and that ends also on Sunday uh on the
-
31st. And so it's just a friendly
-
reminder that uh you know that we're
-
doing this. And so um if you would like
-
to join a prayer group, uh visit
-
wctosulsa.org/prayergroups
-
or stop by the connect center right out
-
here after service. And there are
-
multiple different prayer groups praying
-
for different things. Amen. And so uh
-
that's a good thing to get hooked uh
-
hooked up with. With that said, I am now
-
going to pass it over to brother Robert.
-
Let's go. Let's give it up for brother
-
Robert.
-
Appreciate you.
-
>> Amen.
-
How's everybody doing?
-
>> All right. Well, it's giving time.
-
>> It's giving time. You can see on the
-
screen there the different ways to give.
-
Also, there are envelopes in the seat
-
back in front of you if you prefer.
-
Amen. Uh here's a scripture I want to
-
share with you. 2 Corinthians chapter
-
8:es 1-3 says this. Moreover, brethren,
-
we make known to you the grace of God
-
bestowed on the churches of Macedonia,
-
that in great trial of affliction, the
-
abundance of their joy and their deep
-
poverty abounded in the riches of their
-
liberality.
-
For I bear witness that according to
-
their ability, yes, and beyond their
-
ability, they were freely willing. Well,
-
as I was looking at this, I seen
-
something I hadn't seen before. But this
-
word abundance here, if you go to your
-
Strong's concordance, open up that word
-
abundance, it means surplusage.
-
That's the word surplusage. So they're
-
surplus plus plus. And what is he
-
talking about? It's their joy. They have
-
an excessive joy in their giving. In
-
fact, the joy is so excessive in their
-
life, their own affliction, their own
-
issues, their own lack did not move
-
them. They were so excited about the
-
work of God. Come on, somebody get
-
excited now. They were so excited about
-
the work of God,
-
amen, that they weren't moved by any
-
circumstance, situation, or anything
-
that came along. They just got involved.
-
Amen. And you know, it's real good to
-
seek the Lord and what he would have you
-
do, right? That's where it needs to come
-
from other than the tithe that already
-
belongs to him. And as you give,
-
remember there is a joy on the inside of
-
us. A joy that bubbles up on the inside
-
of us that gives us a joy over every
-
circumstance and situation. Amen. So
-
that we can be a part of what God's
-
doing all over the world. Amen. Are you
-
ready to give tonight? Father, we thank
-
you so much. We praise you for this
-
opportunity, God, to give into the
-
kingdom. We give you all the thanks. be
-
honored, be glorified, and be magnified
-
by our giving. And we thank you for
-
every promise, every promise that's
-
attached to it in Jesus' name. Well,
-
just want to give you a quick update
-
that pastors Mark and Janet will be back
-
this Sunday. Amen.
-
>> Yes, we're so excited. But I'm really
-
honored and excited to introduce our
-
speaker tonight. We've got Reverend
-
Joseph Roberts with us. Sir, thank you.
-
We're so excited you're with us. We're
-
expecting Amen. So once worship is over,
-
you're free to go, sir. Do it. Thank
-
you.
-
>> Right. Whenever you guys are done
-
giving, you can go ahead and stand and
-
join us as we go back into worship.
-

running after me.

>> Your goodness,
-
>> your goodness is running out.
-
>> It's running after it's running out.
-
>> It's running to me.
-
>> Your goodness,
-
>> your goodness is running out. It keeps
-
running after me.
-
With my life laid down, I'm surrender
-
now.
-
>> I give you everything.
-
>> Your goodness
-
is running after. It's running after me.
-
>> All my life you have been faithful.
-
All my life you have been so so good.
-
With every breath that I am able.
-
Oh, I will sing of the goodness
-
of God.
-
>> All my life
-
I'll sing.
-
>> All my life you have been faithful.
-
You've been so faithful to me, Jesus.
-
>> All my life, you have been so so
-
good.
-
With every breath that I am able,
-
oh, I will sing
-
of the goodness
-
of God.
-
Oh, sing. Sing your goodness to me. Oh.
-
Oh, how good you been. We worship you.
-
We worship for your

-
>> You deserve the glory.
-
You deserve the glory. And you deserve
-

-
Let's just hear the voices. Can we lift
-
that up?
-
>> And you deserve the glory.
-
>> Let's sing that to him. You deserve
-
>> You deserve the glory.
-
You deserve it all.
-
>> And you deserve the glory.
-
So I exalt
-
thee. Come on. Last song. Let's sing it

together. And I exalt

And I exalt

-
right now. Father, you're worthy of all
-
of the praise and the glory.
-
>> We exalt.
-
We exalt.
-
We exalt you, Jesus.
-
Just for you, my man. Just for you.
-
>> Hallelujah.
-
>> Praise the Lord.
-
>> Hallelujah.
-
Praise God. Amen. Wow. Powerful.
-
>> Powerful. Lord, we're just grateful.
-
>> Thankful.
-
Holy Spirit, thank you for your presence
-
here tonight.
-
>> It's so good. So good to to live in your
-
presence,
-
>> to get to live out of our spirits with
-
you,
-
to be hidden in the secret place with
-
you. We're grateful,
-
>> thankful that you you want to spend all
-
your time with us. You don't have to do
-
that.
-
Lord, we're grateful that you give us
-
your time.
-
>> You give us your your whole heart, your
-
whole self.
-
>> You've given us everything. We just we
-
honor you. We magnify you. Lord, I'm
-
grateful for this this opportunity

-
Lord, just this precious moment you've
-
honored me with to stand in this pulpit.
-
Lord, I want to honor you with every
-
word.
-
>> I want to honor you.
-
>> Holy Spirit, what would you do if you
-
were in my shoes?
-
That's my prayer. I want to follow your
-
leading
-
in every word, in every deed, in every
-
action.
-
So I submit myself unto your leadership,
-
submit myself unto you once again to
-
lead me, to guide me.
-
>> Hallelujah.
-
>> We're thankful, grateful.
-
>> Amen. Amen.
-
>> Praise the Lord. Wow. They really poured
-
on here every service. Thank you guys.
-
It's always so good. Amen.
-
>> My my wife, this is my wife, Kirsten. My
-
name is Joey, and we're blessed to be
-
here. Uh we're here about half the time.
-
We do live here, but uh about about six
-
months out of the year, it seems like
-
we're gone. Not all at once, but uh we
-
just got back from seven weeks away. And
-
we were here Sunday, we slipped in. And
-
uh man, the anointing is so much
-
stronger up here. I need to start
-
sitting closer. Amen. and we were just
-
sitting in the seats and I noticed the
-
the seat tag. I took a picture of it in
-
case I'm never invited back. But said
-
reserve Brazie and I thought I've waited
-
all my life for this moment. But man,
-
the anointing I don't know if it's like
-
that over here, but man, it's strong
-
over there.
-
>> Praise the Lord. Well, you can be
-
seated. My name's Joey Roberts, and I
-
feel like I ought to be introducing uh
-
you who introduced me. uh you I didn't
-
get to meet you, but I sat in on a
-
session you did uh over at your ministry
-
um for Mrs. Caps and uh you were talking
-
about um how to how to get the most out
-
of your Bible reading and it really uh
-
ministered to me. So, I've been wanting
-
to tell you thank you. Amen. Praise the
-
Lord. Well, it's an honor to be here. Um
-
a little bit of my history, my my
-
parents are Ross and Louise Roberts. Uh
-
they lived here from 1976
-
to 7879.
-
I was born in 78. That's Mr. Daisy over
-
there. Uh just got to know him in the
-
last year or two and he was my dad's
-
neighbor. And uh so I'm blessed to be
-
amongst family. Uh Pastor Mark and and
-
Pastor Janet uh used to come to my
-
parents' church churches over the years
-
when I was just a little boy. So that
-
was about 40ome years ago. And uh
-
I I remember being here in 1996
-
attending all the Holy Ghost rallies
-
when I lived here. I was going to Rama
-
from 96 to98. Uh I didn't miss one. In
-
fact, I would miss a class at Rama to be
-
at those morning meetings if I had to.
-
And uh never forget the deposits that
-
the Holy Spirit in fact even that word
-
deposits. I'd never heard that until uh
-
1996, Pastor Mark teaching on the
-
deposits of the Holy Spirit, rivers of
-
the spirit. And uh those meetings so
-
impacted me that
-
even people today think I'm stuck in
-
time somewhere. And and sometimes you
-
can come off like that, like you're
-
stuck in a time in history. But there's
-
a difference between being um stuck in a
-
place in the spirit
-
with the Holy Spirit. And I say stuck.
-
There's no better place to be than in
-
the secret place.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> With the most high. You don't want to
-
just spend a little time there on a
-
Sunday or a Wednesday. That's where
-
we're we're supposed to live.
-
>> That's where we're anointed to live is
-
in the secret place with him. That's
-
where our safety is.
-
>> That's where our protection is.
-
You know, you could listen to prosperity
-
teaching all day, and I sometimes do,
-
but but true prosperity comes from the
-
secret place,
-
>> from your fellowship with the Holy
-
Spirit.
-
>> So many things I I've learned and uh not
-
that I know very much. Uh but still
-
still learning from pastors Mark and
-
Janet. Uh a little more recent history.
-
Um
-
uh something that I I learned years ago
-
and I'm still learning uh and still uh
-
following on to know is how to be led by
-
the spirit.
-
>> And I I learned much of that from those
-
Holy Ghost meetings and little actions.
-
I remember I used to go to those
-
meetings 96 97 they were at a building
-
across town and um it was like a slanted
-
floor that went down. Did anyone go to
-
those meetings? Darl, you went to that
-
back in the day and um I kind of found
-
my company of believers there and some
-
of them went to class with me at Rama
-
and for some reason those Holy Ghost
-
meetings um uh they did something to
-
relationships.
-
Something about flowing in the Holy
-
Ghost together does something to a
-
relationship.
-
>> It it it'll strengthen a relationship.
-
Um it'll also uh separate you a little
-
bit. uh maybe from some relationships
-
that you don't need to be as in
-
intertwined with. Um but uh I found my
-
company in those places of the spirit
-
where there were like-minded individuals
-
that were hungry for more than just
-
taking notes. And I like notes. I've got
-
shelves full of notes, boxes full of
-
notebooks. I am a notetaking machine. Uh
-
but but something about being in places
-
where the move of the spirit is not only
-
welcomed but it's encouraged.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> There's nothing like that.
-
And if that's your thing and it could
-
only become your thing because it does
-
so much in your life that you really
-
don't want any other thing.
-
People say, "What's your thing?" I like
-
the flow of the spirit.
-
I like to be in a place where it's like
-
every other voice is silenced but God. I
-
like being around people who are pulling
-
on that. So I remember in 96 I'd gone to
-
a couple of these meetings and I had
-
told some I don't know if you were in
-
the in this town back then but uh in
-
different circles those meetings were
-
kind of taboo meetings. Um, and if you
-
went, you were kind of marked in some
-
circles and and uh not that people were
-
mean to you, but you know, just like any
-
other thing happening that that God is
-
doing, people are bound to take notice.
-
But, uh, I remember probably the second
-
or third one, I started recognizing
-
different individuals from class. And
-
so, I'd go up to them and talk to them
-
and, uh, kind of get a feel for what why
-
were they were there. I knew why I was
-
there. Much of it in that day, you know,
-
I was 19 at that time. I really enjoyed
-
dancing in the Holy Ghost.
-
>> In fact, I I would think about it uh if
-
I knew that there was a Holy Ghost rally
-
happening uh with the Brazes in in
-
Tulsa. I' I'd think about it all day.
-
I'd be at work thinking about HOW MUCH
-
JOY WAS going to be in that place in
-
those night meetings. And the nights
-
were so good that I got curious what
-
it'd be like to be there in the morning.
-
So I started looking at how many sick
-
days or vacation days you're allowed.
-
And then I met a a lady that I knew in
-
the office and I said, "Can we work
-
something out? Now if I come for the,
-
you know, the 8 a.m. class, but I have
-
to leave early. Does that count against
-
me?" And I found out that, you know, you
-
could kind of
-
And so I started going to the morning
-
meetings. And then there was uh talk of
-
these Holy Ghost junkies,
-
people who, you know, uh we were the
-
ones that did three three classes at
-
Rama and then talked about everything we
-
learned in class at the at lunch where
-
we were playing foosball trying to teach
-
one another what what we knew. And then
-
we would go over to hear, brother Jim
-
Hockaday. How many remember Jim Haday?
-
We'd go over to prayer and healing
-
school and it just became my life.
-
Some of those meetings you'd meet other
-
people that love the move of the Holy
-
Spirit, love fellowshipping with God,
-
love the flow of the Holy Ghost, love
-
running and DANCING AND SH THEY LOVED
-
PURE FREEDOM JUST AS MUCH AS YOU DID.
-
And you found friendships that last a
-
lifetime, some of them.
-
It's amazing.
-
There's nothing like it.
-
There's nothing like what happens
-
when the spirit is moving.
-
>> That's where all things are possible.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> That's where all things are. And you
-
know what? Contrary to some belief,
-
whether it's popular or not, that
-
changes from day to day. What's popular?
-
Uh Holy Spirit's still moving just like
-
that. If anything, his desire has
-
forever increased
-
>> to flow not only through his people, to
-
his people, but with his people.
-
>> I'm here thankful for the Holy Spirit.
-
>> And he just I mean, what would life be
-
like without it? I think sometimes I
-
meet people even in Pentecostal circles
-
that that they don't know the the thrill
-
of even just letting it rip in other
-
tongues. You know what I mean? Letting
-
it rip.
-
What is he saying? I DON'T KNOW. BUT THE
-
BIBLE SAYS THAT HE THAT SPEAKS IN AN
-
UNKNOWN TONGUE SPEAKS NOT UNTO MEN BUT
-
UNTO GOD.
-
>> HALLELUJAH. YOU KNOW, THE Lord asked me
-
nine months ago, I was leaving a meeting
-
in Minnesota, another Holy Ghost church
-
that loves the flow, probably more than
-
I do, and uh we were driving cross
-
country, and the Lord was talking to me
-
about praying in the spirit. And we talk
-
about that a lot. Sometimes we just pray
-
in the spirit together, and I get things
-
downloads from that.
-
And he said, "IS IT MORE IMPORTANT to
-
you that you know what you're saying,
-
or is it more important to you that I
-
know what you're saying?"
-
>> And I come back to my faithful standard.
-
Well, you are God and I am not.
-
So, if it's more important TO YOU, WELL,
-
YEAH, IT SHOULD BE. IT'S MORE IMPORTANT
-
TO ME THAT YOU KNOW WHAT I'M SAYING. And
-
I heard this. He said, 'Well, then I can
-
share more with you.
-
>> You know, IN EVERY PLACE OF OUR LIFE
-
THAT WE PUT THE HOLY SPIRIT FIRST,
-
>> there's great wonderful benefits.
-
>> When he gets to be first, when it's his
-
way, sometimes you got to make a stand
-
and say, "It's going to be Holy Ghost's
-
way or no way. Amen.
-
>> Is going to be his plan or or we're just
-
not interested.
-
>> I I'm convinced that the Holy Spirit
-
still uh uh is looking for his people
-
like I was in 1996,
-
looking for my people. You know, even
-
there's been seasons. That was 30 years
-
ago. Can you believe it? Time flies when
-
you're having fun. But but think about
-
30 years ago have come and gone and
-
there are still seasons where I've
-
always got my eye out for who are my
-
people?
-
Who are the people that love my friend,
-
the Holy Spirit that sticks closer in a
-
brother? Who loves him like I do? And if
-
you're looking, you'll find them.
-
And sometimes you'll find some that even
-
love him and know him more than you do.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> Have you learned everything about the
-
Holy Spirit that you want to learn?
-
>> Do you know everything right now about
-
his flows and his moves and his do do
-
you know all that you want to know or do
-
you think there's more? Good morning.
-
>> That that phrase my wife will remember.
-
Uh
-
well, in talking about learning about
-
how to hear from the Holy Spirit, we'll
-
turn to a couple of scriptures here in a
-
minute. This is just my opener act.
-
Amen.
-
But uh
-
look at Romans 8:14 for a minute. I
-
wasn't going to start there, but that's
-
that's hot on my mind.
-
Romans.
-
Well, look at verse one. That's a good
-
one. There is therefore now no
-
condemnation to them which are in Christ
-
who walk not after the flesh but after
-
the spirit
-
right there. I mean that's a that's a
-
big one. And people will say, "Well,
-
that you know those people over there,
-
they're just so wrapped up in the flesh
-
talking about sin or that." Well, if I
-
said, uh, tell me your name's Robert,
-
right? I might as well shake your hand
-
while I have the moment. Yeah.
-
If I said, uh, you know, Robert's a
-
leader in this church and and you ought
-
to you ought to follow Robert. If Robert
-
was walking this way, we're all going to
-
follow Robert. That doesn't get too
-
deep. That doesn't connotate that if I
-
don't follow Robert that I'm in some
-
gross sin, right?
-
You know, right here it says that that
-
we're to follow after the things of the
-
spirit.
-
Following after the spirit. One thing
-
I'm learning still IS HE WILL NOT follow
-
me.
-
>> So good.
-
>> I'm not qualified to lead. Which is
-
funny. On the flip side, did you know
-
there's more leadership conferences for
-
the body of Christ today? and I've not
-
found one followship conference.
-
I've been looking.
-
Wouldn't it be great to I don't think
-
that's a word followship, but but what
-
if you had a followship conference WHERE
-
WE'RE GOING TO LEARN HOW TO FOLLOW THE
-
LEADER. NOT JUST LEARN HOW TO lead
-
everybody because sometimes you get
-
dwelling, you know, faith comes by
-
hearing and hearing. You get dwelling on
-
what a great leader you are. You forget
-
that you got to be led.
-
>> There's one leader. You know, he owns
-
all this.
-
>> The earth is the Lord's and the fullness
-
thereof. Did you know every bornag again
-
Christian church belongs to the Lord
-
Jesus Christ?
-
And he allows us TO BE A PART OF IT.
-
I'VE been thinking of lately, YOU KNOW,
-
HE IS NOT TIED to do anything that I
-
want him to do.
-
One thing I I'm still learning, I'm just
-
sharing things off my heart that I'm
-
getting from Pastor Mark and by the
-
spirit.
-
I'm learning I can't lead the Holy
-
Spirit and make him do something I want
-
him to do.
-
>> I also can't direct his flow if I want
-
that. That That's why it's his flow and
-
not my flow. Amen.
-
>> Yeah.
-
>> And so I'm learning that IF I'M QUICK TO
-
FOLLOW, I think back in 96, something
-
happened in me. Now, I already knew
-
about I came from a run and dancing
-
church, but something happened to to me
-
in the spirit that actually got over
-
into into a lot of a lot of my soul,
-
even my mind, will, and emotions.
-
I would think about if I could get to
-
that meeting
-
where that music was going on back then.
-
It was it was Raene Wilson. You had
-
David Ellis on the piano. One of my
-
buddies played the drums
-
and uh you had different dropins all the
-
time. Pastor Janet would get up singing.
-
I remember Dr. Sevel came in for a a
-
weekend one time. Different ones.
-
But in my thinking, now I don't know
-
everything, but in my thinking, I
-
thought no matter what kind of day I've
-
had, if I can just get not only to the
-
meeting, but up close enough to the
-
front
-
that I could just yield myself,
-
JUST YIELD MYSELF TO WHAT IS GOING ON.
-
AND WHAT IS GOING ON, I FOUND OUT LATER,
-
WAS THE BYPRODUCT of a group or groups
-
of PEOPLE PRAYING THINGS OUT EARNESTLY
-
COVETING, DESIRING THIS MOVE THAT I GET
-
TO COME AND FREELY ENJOY. AND ALL IT
-
COST ME WAS IF I CAN JUST GET there
-
>> and then yield myself.
-
And for me,
-
>> yes,
-
>> yielding myself always meant I am gonna
-
dance the floor to pieces.
-
Now I say that today, BUT THAT'S HOW
-
THAT WAS HOW I yielded myself.
-
It was like um
-
it's funny to think about, but I knew if
-
I could just get myself now, I'm not
-
trying to get you all stirred up, so
-
just just don't get things in your mind.
-
But if I could get my body to move in a
-
way, and however you want to put this,
-
this is how I put it. That would
-
embarrass my flesh.
-
>> Yeah.
-
YEAH.
-
>> THEN MY FLESH WOULD SHUT UP IN THAT
-
moment and all of a sudden, no matter
-
what type of day I had, I could start
-
hearing from God. You know, the Lord
-
knows. I'll tell you an interesting
-
testimony. It was 1997. It's my second
-
year at Rama. I'm one month in and I've
-
convinced myself and other voices
-
talking to me had convinced me that I
-
had made a big mistake coming back for a
-
second year.
-
And I'm sitting there. I'm literally on
-
the second row. I've got my crew of
-
people of wild cards.
-
Little side note to sit on our row. We
-
had a an agreement.
-
You could only sit on this row and we
-
would only save a seat for you. But if
-
one dances, we all dance whether you
-
feel it or not. If one runs, we all run
-
whether you feel like it or not. Now, if
-
you're dragging in, you had a bad day,
-
you might need to sit one row behind us
-
because this row is A DANCING ROW. THIS
-
row is A RUNNING ROW. THIS IS AN AMENING
-
ROW. THIS IS A PULLING ROW. WE CAME
-
HERE. We came here to get loaded.
-
>> Yeah,
-
>> we've all had the same amount of time
-
today, but we came here on a mission.
-
You know, I was on a mission to get
-
drunk in the Holy Ghost.
-
When was the last time you're on a
-
mission to get drunk in the Holy Ghost?
-
>> Man, if it's been a while, YOU OUGHT TO
-
OUGHT TO DO something about that. Say,
-
"What would I do?" Ask him to refill
-
you.
-
>> Has anyone ever said you look like Woody
-
Harrelson?
-
>> I keep thinking I'm preaching to Woody
-
Harrelson, which would be so cool.
-
But we were on a mission
-
like the Blues Brothers. We're on a
-
mission from God. I truly believe that.
-
Why am I telling you all these things?
-
Well, some of you probably just need to
-
loosen up a little bit. But, uh,
-
I think there's something to this all
-
these years later.
-
You know, in those meetings, if the Lord
-
could get me to move out of my seat
-
in a run or a dance or even just going
-
down front or just getting in the aisle
-
and do something that would scare my
-
flesh,
-
remember I'm 19, single,
-
not really chasing girls, but not not
-
thinking about it,
-
right?
-
So many things going on in a young man's
-
mind when he knows that the river of the
-
spirit's moving and everything that he
-
desires is in there. What? That's truth.
-
And I knew there was freedom in that
-
truth.
-
>> Remember so many times things would
-
attack my mind. Say, "Not tonight,
-
Roberts. Just be cool. So and so's here.
-
You know, so and so's over here. This
-
group's over here." I remember one time
-
I was on the stage uh at one of those
-
meetings. It was 97 I think 96.
-
I know I can't get off this. I'm sorry.
-
I'm going to waste the whole time. I
-
know it happens. But uh I remember it
-
was Dr. Seville night and I was so
-
looking forward to to that.
-
And uh you know he came in a suit.
-
We all wore suits that night but his was
-
especially nice.
-
Well, uh, I don't know how exactly I
-
fell into it. Normally, I got there
-
early around 5 5:30 when the ushers I
-
had a friend named Shane who used to be
-
a part of this outfit. He lives out in
-
California now, but I'd be there the
-
time he'd show up and I'd get my seat
-
and then lay my coat down on two seats
-
knowing that was not right because
-
you're only supposed to save one seat,
-
but I'd always push the envelope for the
-
sake of others. I believe that's noble.
-
and uh and I'd get my seat. Well, uh for
-
some reason this night there were
-
different entouragees and my normal
-
seats weren't available, but they said
-
we have a SEAT RIGHT UP HERE ON the
-
stage for you and and your friend. So, I
-
thought I you're switching up my
-
routine.
-
I I don't belong on the stage. They
-
said, "Well, we're expecting a very big
-
crowd tonight and these seats, these
-
sections are full." And I it just
-
bothered me.
-
So, I'm sitting up there and I'm up
-
there with with, you know, important
-
people and I'm not one of them, but I
-
was sitting next to an important person
-
and the whole time I'm just wanting to
-
break out. I mean, I'm just wanting TO
-
GET THE PARTY GOING. But tonight, DR.
-
HERE AND THERE'S JUST THIS THING IN the
-
atmosphere that's one that in, you know,
-
in high school I was the guy that went
-
to start the mosh pit, you know, heavy
-
metal concerts and I would pace the
-
floor while the band's warming up, you
-
know, and I'm just making my my way
-
here, getting everybody out of my way
-
because when it comes down to it, I'm
-
going to come in AND WE'RE GOING TO
-
THROW DOWN. AND MY WHOLE AGENDA BACK
-
THEN WAS I'M GOING TO GET on that stage
-
and I'M GOING TO THROW A FIT UNTIL THEY
-
THROW ME OFF THE STAGE HOPEFULLY for
-
glorious stage dive time
-
and I had it.
-
It's funny how the Lord knows what rings
-
your bell
-
and it often carries over in the spirit.
-
>> He knows the desires of your heart.
-
And so there I am, center stage. Dr.
-
Sevel's right there. I could sense it. I
-
was watching him. He's teaching along.
-
And I thought, he wants to get wilder
-
than I want to get. I can tell. But
-
there's like a stuffiness happening.
-
We got to do something about this. I'm
-
sitting here thinking about that.
-
No music.
-
Pastor Ray Jean, well, he wasn't
-
pastoring then. He sat down. Now, David
-
Ellis has stopped carrying the tune. Now
-
it's teaching time.
-
And I sat there and I couldn't hear a
-
word. I thought, "This is NOT HOW THE
-
HOLY Ghost meetings go." You know,
-
that's my seat down there. I started
-
getting jealous of this these group down
-
there in my seat. Didn't feel
-
comfortable.
-
I don't know. He got on to preach for a
-
minute and something in me. I thought if
-
I sit here any longer, I'm going to kick
-
myself an hour from now when it's all
-
done.
-
And I just I got mad at myself and I
-
don't know what he said, BUT BUT I FELT
-
LIKE people were getting up and
-
applauding and saying amen. AND I I JUST
-
threw a fit right there on that stage
-
and I ran off JUST TO GET OFF THAT
-
STAGE. You know, little did I know I
-
looked back and I don't know if you ever
-
tried to run at a Holy Ghost meeting at
-
the Bazies. There was a crowd of people
-
after me like they wanted to hurt me
-
and the place came unglued. You say,
-
"Why are you telling us this? I don't
-
know.
-
I don't know. But I'll tell you this,
-
none of that's changed in my heart.
-
I like to go to uh meetings with this
-
expectancy
-
that that the Lord
-
has something already cooking in the
-
works for me to partake of.
-
>> And not only that, I'M EXPECTING WHAT
-
HE'S GOT. taste and see that the Lord is
-
good. I'M EXPECTING THAT WHATEVER FLAVOR
-
HE'S bringing tonight OR SUNDAY MORNING,
-
I'M GOING WITH THAT EXPECTANCY THAT THAT
-
IF I CAN GET A TASTE, IT'S GOING TO BE
-
BETTER than anything I'VE HAD ALL WEEK,
-
ALL MONTH, MAYBE ALL YEAR, MAYBE IN ALL
-
MY LIFE. AND MY RESPONSE TO THAT IS
-
USUALLY breaking out and something wild
-
happening.
-
You say, "Do we really have to dance? Do
-
we really have to run?" I mean, I is
-
that really today?
-
I think so.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> But I mean, you really think that I
-
mean, there's something in in dancing
-
like that, like, you know, just, you
-
know, really cutting through and just,
-
you know, THERE'S SOMETHING. WELL, I'LL
-
SAY THIS. THERE'S NO PRISON.
-
>> YEAH.
-
>> In that.
-
>> Good stuff.
-
>> It's good stuff.
-
>> There there there's no chains.
-
>> That's right.
-
>> In that.
-
>> Yeah. So, good.
-
>> There there's there's there's no
-
depression
-
>> hanging around that.
-
any voices that were talking to you
-
about anything at all or belittling you
-
or making you feel small or making your
-
ministry look small in your eyes. You
-
know, the demons,
-
they're the same demons that were HERE
-
IN JOSHUA AND CALEB'S DAY WHEN THE OTHER
-
SPIES CAME OUT AND SAID, "IT'S LIKE WE
-
LOOK SMALL IN OUR OWN EYES. WE'RE LIKE
-
GRASSHOPPERS." WHERE DO YOU THINK THEY
-
GOT THAT? MOSES DIDN'T SAY YOU'RE LIKE
-
GRASSHOPPERS. GOD DIDN'T TELL MOSES
-
THAT. THEY MUST HAVE HEARD THAT FROM
-
SOME VOICE.
-
>> YEAH.
-
>> I'm convinced.
-
>> Yes.
-
>> That not only did Joshua and Caleb for
-
the 40 days when they saw the same
-
things that everybody else saw,
-
experienced the same things that
-
everybody else saw. I'M CONVINCED THAT
-
BEFORE they went to bed, they danced
-
before the Lord. Amen.
-
>> They shouted over the victory.
-
>> WHEN THEY SAW EACH other slipping,
-
>> saying the wrong thing, they became the
-
Christian police.
-
>> Have you heard about this?
-
>> It's a new thing. We've been labeled.
-
If you speak faith and you don't
-
tolerate doubt, you're Christianes.
-
I HAD NO IDEA. IT'S A whole new
-
nationality.
-
I'm learning about it.
-
BUT IF YOU TALK LIKE JESUS
-
>> YEAH.
-
>> AND YOU WANT TO FLOW IN THE HOLY GHOST
-
AND YOU TALK LIKE ALL OF THIS STUFF IS
-
STILL REAL THAT WAS ALIVE IN THE 70S,
-
80S, 90S, AND ACTUALLY SINCE the
-
beginning of everything,
-
>> if you talk like that, you're
-
Christianes.
-
>> IT'S AMAZING HERE. I THOUGHT I WAS
-
AMERICAN, but I'm Christian.
-
I'm Christian East.
-
>> Good stuff.
-
>> You say, "Why are you telling us all
-
this?" I I don't know. I I feel like my
-
whole ministry the last several years is
-
just to stir things up.
-
>> Just stir up.
-
>> Just Just stir people up a little bit.
-
>> Sometimes people need to be reminded.
-
>> Yeah.
-
It's about a year ago we had come home.
-
We do um well we do Holy Ghost meetings
-
in different parts of the country. We
-
keep going back. We you know 10 years
-
ago I had left a job opportunity at a
-
ministry and I moved to Fort Worth,
-
Texas because God told me to. Now newly
-
wed to a wonderful doctor of physical
-
therapy. amazing ballerina for the San
-
Diego Ballet. And I told her family,
-
"We're moving to Boston.
-
Moving to Boston? What's in Boston?" She
-
just got a job. We spent hundred AND
-
SOMETHING THOUSAND DOLLARS ON AN "WHAT
-
DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE MOVING TO BOSTON?"
-
God told me to.
-
You know, in that year, I remember going
-
to different um meetings and
-
conferences,
-
and I remember being told by some of the
-
best in the world that we can't throw
-
around that term anymore. We've ruined
-
the term that God told us to, "Oh, what
-
are we supposed to say?"
-
>> I came up with this. That doesn't sound
-
right.
-
But the idea that we blame everything on
-
God, well, we got to get our thoughts
-
>> and intents of the heart and where we're
-
going from the leader. And that leader
-
just happens to be God.
-
>> And so, as hard as it was, I told my
-
in-laws, I said, "Uh, we've got to move
-
to Boston.
-
We're going to go there for one year,
-
and we're going to serve in the local
-
church, and we're going to hear from God
-
about the plan for our life." because I
-
knew God had a plan for us that was
-
beyond uh me serving coffee at the local
-
Starbucks
-
and it was beyond uh uh dancing for the
-
ballet which is beautiful. My wife is
-
amazing dancer
-
and it was beyond uh uh simply the
-
medical field which is a great field.
-
She's done very well made a lot of money
-
in that field when she was doing that.
-
But you know, the leading of the spirit
-
always seemed more important
-
than anything else. And so we went to
-
Boston. About nine months in, the Lord
-
started talking to us about Texas.
-
Now, I don't know if you've ever been
-
concerned about what people think about
-
you. Anybody?
-
>> But when you say we're moving to Boston,
-
and then nine months later you're now
-
talking about Texas, that looks like
-
you're unstable.
-
Do you know what? God's not moved by any
-
of that.
-
>> Come on.
-
>> I started talking to the Lord. I said,
-
"Man, this is really looking like I
-
don't know what I'm doing." He said,
-
"You really don't.
-
That's why I'm here."
-
>> Yeah.
-
>> You know, if you'll talk openly to the
-
Holy Spirit, HE HE'LL TALK JUST AS PLAIN
-
TO YOU. I SAY, "LORD, this looks like I
-
DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M DOING." HE'S LIKE,
-
"You don't know what you're doing. I
-
know what we're doing."
-
Little did I know, you know, just 12, 13
-
years later,
-
uh, he was teaching me how to follow him
-
no matter what the outward situation
-
looked like. So there we are in Fort
-
Worth and, uh, Romans 8:14. Did we turn
-
there yet?
-
>> They that are led by the spirit of God
-
are the sons of God.
-
verse one there it says uh talks about
-
following after the things of the
-
spirit.
-
You know, so much in the um and notice
-
the quotes because they're big.
-
So much in the spiritual world of
-
Christianity has more to DO WITH THE
-
FLESH than anything concrete spiritual
-
because that would require us to say God
-
told us to do this. God is leading us
-
this way. God wants this.
-
You know, one thing I I'm learning is
-
the Lord likes it when I put it on the
-
line for him.
-
You know, something Charles Caps taught
-
us is when I'm following the Lord, we'll
-
probably get to heaven and find out how
-
many times we missed it, thinking we
-
were following him. And because of our
-
faith in him, he made up for it and we
-
never knew it.
-
>> I'M CONVINCED THAT WHOLEHEARTEDNESS WITH
-
my relationship
-
>> with Holy Spirit where he can see it.
-
Lord, I'm trying to follow you and I I I
-
and in in giving him time in prayer, in
-
seeking him.
-
>> Come on.
-
>> Sometimes I find it best to to get down
-
on on my knees.
-
>> I was at this church a couple of years
-
ago and Cindy Black, you know, Cindy,
-
she was up on the stage and there was
-
all these big ministers there and I was
-
there to speak for a night. I kept
-
hearing the voice of the spirit. HE
-
SAID, "YOU KNOW, it's real nice down
-
there on that carpet."
-
And I said, "It's nice down there on
-
that carpet." You know, the Bible says,
-
"Put him in remembrance of his word."
-
That's not just things you read in the
-
thing. That's putting him in remembrance
-
of what he just said right now.
-
>> And I said, "Lord," you said, "It's nice
-
down there on that carpet." He said,
-
"Yeah, it's real nice down there on that
-
carpet. You ought to go down there. That
-
I'm down there." And I said, "You want
-
me to get on the floor right now?" And I
-
started looking around. Nobody else is
-
on the floor.
-
Cindy backs up there and the anointing's
-
moving in. And this wasn't like a, you
-
know, a hush moment. This was like a,
-
you know, a gospel moment. And and I
-
just kept hearing, you know, it's real
-
nice down there on that carpet. I'd like
-
to talk to you down there. Can we talk
-
down there?
-
And I thought, if I think about this for
-
two more seconds, see all those things
-
in those Holy Ghost me, IF I THOUGHT
-
ABOUT running for another 30 seconds, if
-
I considered it for another 10 seconds,
-
I ain't got to do it.
-
>> That's good.
-
>> I find out the QUICKER THAT I RESPOND TO
-
THE VOICE OF HIS LEADING, the quicker I
-
get in and the quicker we go and the
-
quicker all of a sudden something
-
happens.
-
I said, "Okay, Lord. I'll meet you on
-
the carpet." got right down there. Right
-
down there. And the Lord said, "No, no,
-
it's really good way way down here."
-
And I said, "You you
-
down here?" And he said, "It'd be easier
-
if you just you get down here. Just go
-
ahead and lay down."
-
This is two years ago.
-
And I said, 'You want me to lay down on
-
the carpet?
-
He said, 'It's good down there. You had
-
a long day. You drove all the way from
-
Tulsa. Y'all just lay down here on the
-
carpet with me. You have a minute. And I
-
started looking around. I thought, if I
-
lay down on the carpet, I'm the guest
-
speaker. I've never been here. People
-
are going to immediately think the
-
worst.
-
remember like grasshoppers.
-
>> I said, "Okay, Lord." And I laid all the
-
way down. I won't do it just because
-
I've been sore. We've been playing a lot
-
of Frisbee lately.
-
You know what? 3 seconds after I got
-
down there, Lord started ministering his
-
peace to me.
-
He started bringing his peace over me.
-
Now, see, it was just a few minutes
-
before I was thanking God that I wasn't
-
going to make a fool out of myself
-
and asking him to grace me for what I
-
was supposed to do in this meeting.
-
And there's something about denying the
-
flesh.
-
>> I believe this is what the Apostle Paul
-
was talking about here, NOT FOLLOWING
-
AFTER WHAT MY FLESH SAYS.
-
If you do this, they're going to label
-
YOU THAT. IF YOU TALK LIKE THIS, IT'S
-
GOING TO KEEP YOU OUT OF THESE CIRCLES.
-
If you DO THIS THING AND FOLLOW THIS
-
THING AND BE THIS WAY, YOUR ministry
-
will have little effect and you will
-
remain small.
-
In the biggest places, and the biggest
-
people, the biggest numbers, you'll be
-
an outcast.
-
You know, the enemy has a strong voice.
-
I hate to say it, and you won't like to
-
hear it maybe, but sometimes his voice
-
is stronger in the local church
-
>> where he's actually
-
saying what can and cannot happen. You
-
could be in a place saying all things
-
are possible to him that believes,
-
but if the devil don't like it and
-
there's enough people
-
that care what other people think over
-
what God thinks,
-
Holy Spirit's just bound to walk out of
-
the room
-
and never come back.
-
You say, "You mean never come back?
-
That type of thinking does not invite
-
his type of thinking.
-
I'm convinced that if he wants me to lay
-
on the floor, what do I care?
-
>> That's right.
-
>> If he wants me to run around the room,
-
what do I care?
-
It was a few months ago.
-
It's about six months ago. I was out
-
doing my routine, mowing the grass.
-
I was listening to Brother Hagen. I'm a
-
multitasker.
-
Listen to Brother Hagen
-
in my earbuds. I got those noise
-
cancelling ones. So, it's just me and
-
Brother Hagen. I get in the flow. I
-
don't know if you're like this. I'll
-
listen to the same video 10, 12, 15, 30
-
times, especially Brother Hagen.
-
And he's talking.
-
This is like six months ago. He's
-
talking about how to be led by the
-
spirit. Have you heard this stuff? How,
-
man? If you hadn't, you're missing it.
-
You got to get the Hagen on how to be
-
led by the spirit. It it is it's
-
it's what they say. It's a game changer.
-
It changes everything. Once I learn to
-
be led in here and not up here, spirit
-
of man is the candle of Lord searching
-
all the inward parts of the belly. He
-
will enlighten me by my spirit. You
-
know, God's not a mind. He won't speak
-
to you in your mind. He'll only speak to
-
you as a spirit in your spirit. AND SO,
-
IT PAYS TO LEARN THE VOICE OF THE INWARD
-
WITNESS. And it's so easy.
-
>> But there will be exercises along the
-
way.
-
>> It could be, hey, I want you to get up
-
and rejoice.
-
>> He might give you a few scriptures.
-
Rejoice in the Lord always. THAT MEANS
-
ALL THE TIMES. RIGHT NOW IS A GOOD WAY.
-
RIGHT NOW'S A GOOD TIME. THAT'S ONE OF
-
THOSE TIMES.
-
>> WELL, LORD, nobody else is rejoicing.
-
And I'm in a mall.
-
REJOICE IN THE LORD ALWAYS. AND AGAIN, I
-
SAY REJOICE. WELL, LORD, I IF I REJOICE
-
NOW, PEOPLE ARE GOING TO THINK I'm
-
crazy.
-
>> How many believe that God knows the
-
outcome of a thing more than you do?
-
And how many would also agree THAT IF
-
THE OUTCOME ISN'T WHAT YOU THOUGHT IT
-
WAS SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE MOMENT, THAT'S
-
STILL OKAY.
-
>> HOW MANY KNOW that crazier things are
-
happening in the mall or a parking lot
-
than you shouting glory to God?
-
>> We live in a world now where men dress
-
like women, AND YOU BETTER LOVE THAT.
-
We live in a world now where where there
-
KIDS ARE BEING FED DRUGS. THE THE THE
-
BOYS CAN BECOME GIRLS AND GIRLS. LET ME
-
ASK YOU, WHAT'S WEIRDER? You praying in
-
tongues
-
>> or what's going on?
-
What do I care?
-
What do I care if the Lord wants to lead
-
me in a way that not everyone else IS
-
GOING? WHAT DO I CARE? In fact, HE SAID,
-
"DON'T CARE. CAST ALL YOUR CARES UPON
-
ME. I'LL DO ALL THE CARING FOR YOU. ALL
-
YOU'VE GOT TO DO is listen
-
>> and obey.
-
And everything, like they say in
-
Jamaica, will be iry.
-
Everything's going to be all right.
-
Everything's going to be all right. You
-
know, everything can only be all right
-
when I'm following the Holy Spirit.
-
So, I'm out there mowing my grass and
-
Brother Hagen's teaching me this stuff
-
for at least I don't know the thousandth
-
time. I'm getting so much out of it. I'm
-
hearing some of the same stories but
-
hearing little tidbits and I thought,
-
"Oh, I didn't didn't realize that was
-
that year and that and I'm just having a
-
good time.
-
and and we're just a few weeks out from
-
this meeting we're hosting.
-
Now, leading up to the lawn session with
-
brother Hagen, I had been asking the
-
Lord. Oh, and here's A SIDE THOUGHT.
-
YOU'RE NOT GOING TO TELL GOD WHEN TO
-
respond to you because you're not in
-
charge of God.
-
>> Quicker you learn that, the happier you
-
will be.
-
>> Sometimes I'd ask God a question over
-
the years. I'd want it right now.
-
And I think if I asked louder that would
-
help him hear because he's old
-
or if I asked him a lot, just a lot.
-
I've got a six-year-old who asked me a
-
lot. You know what I mean by that?
-
Daddy, can we do this? Daddy. DADDY WAS
-
THERE. DADDY, CAN WE HAVE ONE OF THESE?
-
DADDY. DADDY. DADDY. DADDY. DADDY. AND I
-
I LOVE it much of the time. I love it.
-
some of the time at least.
-
>> But I've been talking to the Lord for
-
weeks out of my spirit. And then as I
-
had utterance, I'd speak boldly. That's
-
what utterance is good for, to speak
-
boldly.
-
And I'd say, "Lord, uh, I thank you that
-
you're leading me and directing my
-
path." Now, concerning these meetings
-
coming up, I believe you've put these
-
people in my sight,
-
but but there's this one thing that
-
keeps coming up to me every morning and
-
every night, and I just like to know, I
-
know the voice of the inward witness. I
-
know the voice OF THE HOLY GHOST, BUT I
-
JUST WANT TO ASK YOU, is that you
-
telling me to invite them?
-
I didn't hear anything.
-
So I put brother Hagen back on went
-
mowing. But see now days have gone by,
-
weeks have gone by and I've got a flyer
-
that needs to go out and I got things
-
you know that I'm doing for other
-
ministers and pastors. I'm just
-
convinced that the Lord keeps bringing
-
this up.
-
Well, I finish uh finish the lawn
-
and soon as I'm putting this is a half
-
hour later. Soon as I'm putting the
-
mower away, I hear on the inside, well,
-
WHY DON'T YOU ASK HIM?
-
And I thought, wait, this isn't the type
-
of person you just ask. You know, you
-
don't just go, hey, you want to come to
-
a meeting? You want to come to a
-
meeting?
-
It just felt weird. It felt like, how am
-
I going to approach that? Should I call
-
my non-existent secretary and have her,
-
you know, how people do. Should we send
-
it by email? Is it appropriate to text?
-
I'll have to ask Joe Morris for his
-
number. I don't know how this all works.
-
I don't know why it got so under my
-
skin.
-
But I walked inside and I went and I
-
said, "Kirsten," I said, "I keep
-
thinking we're supposed to invite Pastor
-
Mark to our meeting coming up. I think
-
he is the one. In fact, if I had to bet
-
an actual sum of money, I would put it
-
on there now." But I keep asking the
-
Lord. And all HE SAID WAS, "WELL, WHY
-
DON'T YOU ASK? He didn't give me a yes."
-
See, I'd prefer it.
-
>> This is another thing with the Lord.
-
>> He's not gonna work with your preference
-
of how you want him to be.
-
>> You don't lead him. You don't get to
-
tell HIM HOW TO TALK to you. There's not
-
going to be any of this. I'm not ready
-
for that, Lord. You know, the Lord will
-
wake you up in the middle of the night,
-
and he'll keep waking you up if he SO
-
DESIRES. IN FACT, I FOUND THAT THE LORD
-
will not let you sleep IF HE DECIDES NOT
-
TO LET YOU SLEEP. WHY? BECAUSE HE'S GOD.
-
>> Some people don't like that. They like
-
the cartoon version of God. God's bound
-
by his word. Yes, he is. The earth is
-
the Lord and the fullness thereof,
-
including you and me. He created you and
-
me. People say, "Well, he he's not a man
-
that he should lie." You know, you can
-
try and make the scripture say anything
-
that that fits your preference, BUT HE
-
MIGHT SNEAK UP ON you one day and tell
-
you to do something and go, "You really
-
want me to do that?" AND HE'LL GO,
-
"YEAH,
-
I really want YOU TO DO THAT right now."
-
And so I said, "I really think we're
-
supposed to ask Pastor Mark
-
to come to meetings." Now, my wife
-
didn't grow up in the house that I grew
-
up in. She didn't grow up with camp
-
meeting every year with the Brazes
-
coming to your place and and your
-
parents and she didn't grow up. She
-
goes, "Well, what are you waiting for?
-
Why don't you just ask?" I SAID, "NAZ,
-
SEE?" I KNEW YOU'D SAY THAT. BUT YOU
-
JUST DON'T GO ASK THE Brazes to do a
-
thing. I mean, then it's going to BE
-
AWKWARD IF THEY SAY, "WELL, NO, we we'd
-
rather not." Or I mean, it just this
-
whole scenario. I THOUGHT, "HOW ARE WE
-
GOING TO ATTEND church after that?" Cuz
-
it's going to be this awkward thing of
-
explaining why we didn't DO THIS. OR
-
MAYBE IT WON'T. MAYBE THEY WON'T SAY
-
ANYTHING and it'll just be all on me and
-
I'll be all awkward and wondering why
-
THEY DIDN'T WANT TO COME. AND IT'S JUST,
-
YOU KNOW WHAT? WE SHOULDN'T ASK HIM AT
-
ALL. JUST FORGET THE whole thing.
-
Am I the only one that's ever talked
-
themselves out of the will of God?
-
Some of you are making me feel funny. Is
-
this too much?
-
So, I decided NOT TO ASK.
-
>> NOW, I'm in disobedience.
-
>> You ever asked the Lord for an answer,
-
then he gave it to you, and now it's UP
-
TO YOU TO OBEY WHAT HE SAID, BUT YOU
-
DIDN'T LIKE WHAT HE SAID, AND SO YOU ACT
-
LIKE YOU didn't hear what he said. One
-
of the greatest things the Lord ever
-
told me was two years ago coming out of
-
a meeting. He said, 'Joe,
-
I got things for you to do, and I got I
-
got places for YOU TO COME UP IN, but
-
you MUST STOP ACTING LIKE YOU DON'T HEAR
-
me when you know that you did.
-
And then he said, "Write that down."
-
So, I wrote down, he said, "Now write it
-
on your hand.
-
I want you to look at that all day and
-
say it all day.
-
I will obey
-
when I hear your voice. I WILL STOP
-
ACTING LIKE I DON'T hear you
-
when I know I did.
-
You want to get somewhere faster with
-
God?
-
Don't just act like you hear him when
-
you're hoping he's saying something that
-
you like or something that you want.
-
Make a practice of putting him instantly
-
in remembrance of what he said AND
-
LETTING HIM KNOW, I heard you. IF
-
NOTHING ELSE, IT'S called respect.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> I respect the Lord
-
enough to say, Lord, I heard you. You
-
know, I heard you because you know all
-
things.
-
That opens up a door. There's been times
-
since then in two years where I've been
-
able to say, "Lord, I hear you, but I'll
-
be honest with you. I don't like what I
-
heard.
-
Do I have to do this? Do I have to be
-
this way?" You know, many times it's uh
-
involving me humbling myself
-
before people, me preferring
-
others,
-
me asking for forgiveness. I don't know
-
ABOUT YOU, THAT'S NOT MY favorite thing
-
to do all week is to humble myself and
-
go to my brother or go to somebody in
-
the body and say, "Hey,
-
I just want to want to humble myself and
-
and apologize
-
and repent."
-
You know why there's such a small
-
percentage of that going on in the body
-
of Christ is because it's not fun,
-
>> right?
-
But it opens the door.
-
>> I never knew it.
-
Charles Caps revealed something to me.
-
Not personally,
-
but he said when you look at Mark 11:23
-
and 24, he's specifically dealing with
-
the faith to move the mountain
-
of unforgiveness.
-
>> Yeah.
-
>> I never saw it. It's right there in
-
verse 25. It's the caveat
-
>> of why I FEED MY FAITH, WHY CONFESSION,
-
and it went off in me when I heard that
-
and I thought it is the biggest mountain
-
I face
-
often
-
is a mountain of unforgiveness,
-
the mountain of the flesh
-
where the Lord would say, "Hey, we're
-
going here, too. WE'VE COME UP ONE SIDE,
-
NOW WE'RE GOING HERE, TOO.
-
Let's make way for the spirit." that
-
he's always saying, "Let's make way for
-
me to move." He's always saying, "Let's
-
make way for me to move. I want to do
-
something." He told me that day, he
-
said, "You're constantly doing this
-
thing. You're asking me to do stuff.
-
You're asking me to show up. You're
-
asking me for my wisdom." And you've got
-
SCRIPTURE FOR ALL THOSE THINGS. JAMES 1,
-
IF ANY OF YOU LACK WISDOM, LET HIM ASK
-
ABOUT. YOU ALWAYS WANT MY WISDOM. YOU
-
ALWAYS WANT WHAT I HAVE. YOU WANT MY
-
ANOINTING, MY BURDEN REMOVING, YOKE
-
DESTROYING POWER.
-
But when I ASK YOU FOR SOMETHING I WANT,
-
my humility,
-
he gives grace to the humble, but he has
-
to resist the proud. He said, 'When it
-
comes to those things, you often act
-
like you don't hear the same voice that
-
tells you that the blessing is on its
-
way, that the favor is on its way, not
-
to worry, not to fret, NOT TO FEAR. YOU
-
LIKE THAT VOICE WHEN I'M TELLING YOU
-
GOOD THINGS ARE HAPPENING.
-
He said, "You got to got to fix this.
-
You can't block me out
-
when I'm saying something.
-
I say all these things. I hope you know
-
this is coming out of my heart. I had
-
three messages. I was so nervous about
-
preaching in Pastor Mo Mark's pulpit.
-
Lord kept telling me, "It's good for you
-
to study, but I got things in mind. So
-
just practice what you preach
-
>> and just follow me.
-
And after all, it doesn't matter what
-
anyone anyone in this room thinks about
-
me. It's really what you think about
-
him.
-
>> Yeah.
-
>> And that is the preparation.
-
Lord, I don't want to
-
I don't want to make a fool out of you
-
before people and say it was you.
-
Lord, I want you to actually speak.
-
Lord, I want you to actually move. A lot
-
of times that requires less preparation
-
of what I might say to impress people.
-
There's something to this. I know there
-
is. So, I got over myself and got over
-
the willies and I texted Pastor Janet. I
-
said, "I just got done listening to
-
Brother Hagen. I'm mowing my grass and
-
I'm convinced." I said, "I ask you
-
humbly without any strings attached. We
-
got these meetings coming up in a few
-
weeks." And I told her all about him. I
-
said, "Uh, would you guys like to come?"
-
I said, "I only asked I I I'm not saying
-
I'm being led now. I'm uh you know,
-
safeguarding myself
-
and there's absolutely no pressure, but
-
but if if if if you guys are open to it,
-
if you'd pray about it."
-
And she said, "Oh, we know about your
-
meetings. We've watched some of your
-
meetings."
-
She said, "Yeah, we'll pray about it."
-
You know, I didn't hear anything for a
-
couple weeks.
-
And my wife said, now she didn't grow up
-
like us. She said, 'Why don't you just
-
call? I said, ' No, no, no. YOU DON'T DO
-
THAT. NO, NO. IT WAS ENOUGH TO PUT IT
-
OUT THERE. I CAN'T PUT IT OUT THERE A
-
SECOND TIME.
-
I'll fast forward because my time's up
-
from goofing off. Yeah, Pastor Mark uh
-
he texted me
-
just a couple weeks out. I think the
-
advertising may have already been done.
-
He said, 'Hey, if that meeting's still
-
on, you want me to come? I'd like to be
-
there. You know what I did?
-
I did what I always do. I told the Lord
-
about a week before that, I said, "If if
-
Pastor Mark," now whether he's supposed
-
to be there or not, whether he wants to
-
come, I said, "But if he does come, I
-
will dance before you. I will rejoice. I
-
don't care if I'm in the mall, if I'm at
-
a gas station. You say you always do
-
that. I always do that. Ever since one
-
time I was way below on E. I had my I
-
had my my whole family in a car. My wife
-
can tell you this is true. This happened
-
several years ago. We're driving. It's
-
midnight or later and I'm dragging
-
dragging our travel trailer and we're
-
not in a cool part of town. And uh I I
-
got to I got to get gas and my GPS says
-
I'm 20some miles out. And I started
-
praying in tongues out of fear.
-
And I said, 'Lord, if you will get me to
-
that gas station,
-
Lord, I I'm I'm dealing now.
-
If you will get me to that gas station,
-
I don't care if there's 30 truckers
-
there. If you will get me to close
-
enough to that pump to to take CARE OF
-
PUTTING GAS IN MY CAR, I will open re
-
rejoice you and you can count ON A HOLY
-
GHOST SPIRITFILLED PENTECOSTAL dance at
-
1:00 a.m. because that's when the GPS
-
SAYS I'M LANDING THERE AT 1:00 A.M. HAVE
-
WE GOT A DEAL, LORD? ARE WE DANCING
-
TOGETHER IN THE GAS STATION OVER YOUR
-
FAITHFULNESS, OVER YOUR MIRACLE WORKING
-
POWER OR NOT? HALLELUJAH. AND
-
>> I HEARD THIS, I'll be your huckleberry.
-
>> And I knew in that moment,
-
>> ME AND THE HOLY GHOST, IT IS ON.
-
>> YOU know what? He did and I did. And
-
about eight different people, my wife
-
can tell you, were looking at me as I
-
went, "GLORY TO GOD. HALLELUJAH.
-
HALLELUJAH. We made IT TO THE GAS
-
STATION. OH MY GOD, YOU ARE FAITHFUL.
-
>> YEAH,
-
>> I'm convinced
-
that the Lord wants to have that kind of
-
relationship
-
>> with you and me.
-
>> The kind that makes deals
-
where he gets a piece of the action.
-
Have you ever asked yourself, "What does
-
God get from the deal?
-
Or is it all what I get?
-
You know, if you start treating Holy
-
Spirit, not the you don't, this is just
-
me talking from my recent experiences.
-
If you'll start treating him like an
-
actual real person
-
and talk to him
-
well, like he's your friend or your
-
buddy. Not disrespectful like a, you
-
know, an old army buddy or something.
-
I'm not saying that. But talk to him. I
-
hope this is okay because this is a word
-
of faith church. Like as if he had
-
feelings
-
and say, "Lord,
-
what do you think about this?"
-
It was a few years ago I opened that
-
door of the feelings and I thought, "I
-
don't know. We're not supposed to be
-
moved by what we feel or see. I know
-
that, Lord. But Lord, do you have
-
feelings?
-
Do you feel?
-
I heard this. He said, "How do you think
-
I feel?" I started laughing. I said, "So
-
you you've got feelings?"
-
He said, "Yeah, I've got desires. I've
-
got feelings."
-
And I knew he was leading me out of the
-
words. IT WAS COMING OUT OF MY SPIRIT. I
-
said, "Lord, I want to learn about your
-
feelings because if if that's real, THEN
-
YOU'RE NOT JUST STONE. YOU'RE NOT JUST
-
COLD. IT'S NOT. IT'S A real
-
relationship.
-
>> And he said, "You're on to something. If
-
you'll consider how I feel about a
-
thing, if you'll consider what I would
-
think, IF YOU'LL PUT YOURSELF IN MY
-
shoes
-
and ask me what would I do in your shoes
-
if I were you, you'll get places
-
faster."
-
There's something about partnering with
-
Holy Spirit and having this wonderful
-
relationship that makes sense.
-
Does your relationship with him make
-
good sense
-
for him? It does.
-
I think I'm on to something. My
-
relationship with him is starting to
-
make great sense. I wish I'd known these
-
things so many years ago.
-
that he he actually cares about the
-
decisions of my life and he wants to
-
walk WITH ME AND TALK WITH ME AND DO
-
WILD, WONDERFUL, EXTRAVAGANT THINGS AND
-
JUST HAVE A BLAST.
-
HIM being him, me being me, us being us,
-
but always together.
-
Always together.
-
I'm learning. There's just not enough
-
time. But I'm I'm learning to include
-
him.
-
Lord, I'm going to the going to the
-
baseball game with the boys. You want to
-
come? See, it just sounds weird.
-
Not until he shows up
-
>> and shows you favor at the popcorn
-
stand, shows you favor at the hot dog.
-
You show up and it's bat night and
-
you're within the first 500 people, you
-
get a free bat.
-
>> Don't think for a second that's not him
-
doing all that stuff. Yeah,
-
>> he gets you the parking spot when nobody
-
else people are honking and all of a
-
sudden he gets your attention and he's
-
like, "Hey, check that out." And
-
somebody's pulling out
-
favor.
-
>> The Lord goes, "Aren't you glad you
-
invited me?
-
I know where all the good parking is. I
-
know where all the good deals are. You
-
ought to invite me more often."
-
We're so big on the words of our mouth.
-
How about the words like of a
-
invitation?
-
>> Lord, do you want to come with me? What
-
about invitation in the pulpit? Lord, I
-
don't care what we do. Lord, you want to
-
do something? Lord, what do you want to
-
do? Lord, what do you think about this?
-
There's something about and it all stems
-
back
-
to those things I learned and I'm still
-
learning through those Holy Ghost
-
meetings. You know, Pastor Mark came
-
I didn't get to any of my notes. That's
-
all right. Pastor Mark came
-
to that that meeting several months ago
-
all the way up in New Hampshire. It
-
wasn't an easy spot to get to.
-
It was just a little gathering. I told
-
him in advance right here in this
-
church. I said, "I just want to let you
-
know there's maybe 40, 50 people in the
-
night meetings, maybe 20 in the
-
morning." He said, "Oh, I don't care
-
about any of that." I said, 'But they're
-
hungry people. They're hungry.
-
Not that he needed me to tell him
-
anything. I knew if he was coming, it's
-
because the Lord told him to come. Not
-
like he ain't got anything better to do.
-
I remember sitting there and just when
-
he stood up, it wasn't anything because
-
of my expectancy. It was just because
-
the Lord's so good and strong on our
-
pastor.
-
just the anointing
-
started radiating.
-
I don't know how often I opened my eyes
-
the full first service. I just sat there
-
and enjoyed just enjoyed the presence of
-
God. Much like at the beginning of the
-
service, just sitting there enjoying,
-
hear me,
-
another person's
-
price
-
that they've spent in the secret place
-
for my benefit.
-
I've got a gratefulness in my heart
-
today that I didn't have
-
maybe a year or so ago. thought I did,
-
but it's very evident now. I'm thankful
-
for the tangible presence
-
of God.
-
And you know, I don't know everything,
-
but I'm smart enough now to know he
-
doesn't have to do that.
-
But I want that.
-
I know there's more of that to be had.
-
the tangible presence of God on my life.
-
And I am convinced
-
that he manifests in that way
-
from Genesis to Revelation. I'm
-
convinced
-
that things happened when people not
-
only got in unity with one another, but
-
they were first in unity and in harmony
-
with God
-
and God the Holy Spirit. He was
-
considered.
-
He was sought after. He was prayed with.
-
And he was allowed to pray through. and
-
he was allowed to do what he
-
had intended.
-
I'm convinced more today now that the
-
manifest presence and glory of God.
-
I'm convinced there's more of it.
-
There's more to be had in my life. I've
-
not seen the greatest of his presence,
-
but I'm convinced that's where he's
-
leading me. from glory to greater levels
-
of glory.
-
And it starts with me walking from one
-
little level of faith to the next. All
-
these illustrations I've given you
-
tonight from my personal life, these are
-
all little things.
-
In the grand scheme of things, it's not
-
a big deal that I ran around the room,
-
although it's changed my life. But in
-
when I look at it from the natural,
-
people argue these things and ridicule
-
and say these things don't have to be in
-
the local church anymore.
-
And I hear the voice in my spirit saying
-
it has to be whatever I say it has to
-
be.
-
It's my church.
-
THESE THINGS DON'T HAVE TO BE.
-
THESE THINGS ARE A THROWBACK TO THE
-
PAST. AND I HEAR THE VOICE IN MY SPIRIT
-
SAYING, "IT HAS TO BE HOWEVER I SAY IT
-
HAS to be."
-
There's something about prizing the fact
-
that he even shows up because he doesn't
-
have to.
-
We get the honor.
-
That first meeting, Pastor Mark
-
ministered so powerfully.
-
And the next several meetings uh in that
-
New Hampshire setting, we were sitting
-
at lunch one of the days and I I try and
-
let the ministers I just host these
-
meetings. Let the the ministers, the big
-
wigs as you'd call them, have
-
fellowship, getting different ministries
-
together that might not get together.
-
But I dipped in on a conversation just
-
for a moment. In that moment, I realized
-
I'd never had an adult conversation with
-
Pastor Mark in my whole life. Ever.
-
been in many meetings. This is the first
-
time and I didn't want to do something
-
dumb.
-
And I said, "Uh, do you like
-
these meetings?"
-
He said, "Yeah, yeah, very much." I
-
said, "Do you you enjoy this? I I you
-
know, I haven't been around you in a
-
long time, but is this still like your
-
thing?"
-
He said, "Very much.
-
I said, "Okay."
-
And he looked at me. I said, "Can I can
-
I ask you one more question?
-
Since you're having such a good time
-
and this is your thing, cuz I I got all
-
this from you,
-
would you want to do this thing that you
-
like so much maybe again in Illinois?"
-
He said, "Maybe."
-
And I thought, I got him. Maybe,
-
you know, he showed up to Champagne.
-
He showed up to Indiana.
-
Now, there's something
-
amazing. If you'd have told me in 1996
-
that Pastor Mark Berzie would be coming
-
to do Holy Ghost meetings with you,
-
well, I would have taken a jig around
-
the room and shouted, "Glory to God."
-
But it would all been by hope
-
and trying to get into faith because it
-
would have seemed like such a
-
I say that then to honor, but my point
-
is this.
-
God knows
-
both the desires of your heart
-
and how to get you not only where you
-
belong, but really where you desire to
-
be.
-
I'd like to close in prayer. I want to
-
say thank you for your time. I know you
-
didn't have to be here tonight, but
-
thank you.
-
This flow happens like this because of
-
the hunger in the place and we feel like
-
we're not here all all that much. But
-
when we are here, I just want to say uh
-
this church makes us feel like family.
-
And that's a that's a rare thing to have
-
this this environment, this togetherness
-
centered around the word
-
of the spirit.
-
I've heard Pastor Mark in the last six
-
months say it a hundred times. What the
-
Lord is doing in these last days is
-
building strong local churches
-
that know how to flow with the Holy
-
Ghost.
-
That's what I love about this place is
-
keeps on climbing, keeps on growing
-
because all of us know this one thing.
-
There's more than what we've
-
experienced.
-
If you need encouragement,
-
all of your latter days shall be greater
-
than your former days.
-
We have not seen anything yet.
-
>> Our greatest days. And it might be one
-
little leading here and one little
-
leading here. But if I could just leave
-
you with one thing, no matter what it
-
is, say an instant yes.
-
He'll put you on the adventure of your
-
lifetime. He'll make impossibilities
-
possible if you'll just say an instant
-
yes. If you'll just say yes. No matter
-
how crazy it might seem in a moment, if
-
you just say yes to him. Just say yes to
-
him. Just say yes to him. It might be a
-
seed. It might be a a a shout, a dance.
-
It could be whatever.
-
Just say an instant yes. Even when your
-
flesh is going, "No, we shouldn't do
-
that." Say an INSTANT YES. HE LOVES IT
-
when we say yes.
-
Lord, I thank you. Thank you for my
-
brothers and sisters,
-
Lord. I can't speak for everybody, but
-
it sure seems like we're all in this
-
boat together rowing the same way. I say
-
yes, Lord. Whatever you have for now, in
-
this present time, the immediate future,
-
I say yes. I say yes to your plan. I say
-
yes to your leading. I say yes to joy. I
-
say yes to peace. I say yes to to to
-
being led.
-
I say yes to the rivers of living water
-
flowing out of me, flowing through me. I
-
say yes to continuously jumping in the
-
rivers and letting you flow and lead me.
-
I say yes to the flow of the spirit. I
-
say yes. I say yes a thousand times.
-
Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Lord,
-
you can have all of me.
-
You can have all of us.
-
I thank you for blessing each and every
-
person in this room and anyone listening
-
online just for making the time to sew
-
the seed of their time. Bless them
-
spirit, soul, and body. Bless them
-
financially.
-
Lord, if anyone's stuck in a spiritual
-
or mental prism, may they go free by
-
saying yes.
-
We thank you Jesus name. Amen. I love
-
you. I don't know who I'm turning this
-
over. God bless you. Thank you so much.
-
Oh, thank you, sir, so much. Wow.
-
Rich.
-
Wow. Thank you. Thank you. God's so good
-
to us. Amen. We want to take a moment
-
and sew into this ministry. I don't know
-
about you, but I'm giddy right now
-
because we got some good stuff tonight.
-
You know, one thing about the people I
-
was talking about in the earlier
-
offering message, the one thing that the
-
Lord showed me there was that they were
-
glad to give generously
-
simply because they wanted to.
-
And I don't know about you, but tonight
-
I'm stirred in my heart
-
because we're all going up. We're
-
growing up. Come on. God's doing
-
something good in us. And I don't know
-
about you, but I want to be a part of
-
this. I want to be a part of this
-
ministry. I want to be able to help
-
other people get what I got tonight. How
-
about you? So, take a moment, see what
-
the Lord would have you do. Amen. Just
-
really think on that for just a moment.
-
I want to share this with you. Um,
-
kindboldfaith.com.
-
kindboldfaith.com
-
is his website and I believe it's just
-
been updated and it looks really good.
-
>> Yeah, it's got some really good stuff on
-
there. You want to go and make yourself
-
available to that. Also, don't forget
-
that there is a book table out there and
-
grab all of it and if you don't need it,
-
share it with somebody.
-
My goodness. I don't know about you, but
-
when we get blessed like this,
-
so good. Also want to say this that you
-
can go to Joey Roberts on Facebook and
-
there's lots of good clips on there. I
-
I've actually been watching some of
-
those for some time and and they will
-
bless you. Some of them are short and
-
he's driving or whatever and and it's
-
just really good stuff. So make yourself
-
available to these things. That's
-
kindboldfaith.com.
-
kindboldfaith.com
-
or Joey Roberts on Facebook. Amen. Are
-
you ready to give?
-
Father, we thank you tonight for what
-
you have swed into our hearts. We thank
-
you, Holy Spirit. We love you. We're so
-
grateful. So, Father, as we come
-
together and we sew into this great
-
ministry, we thank you that this
-
ministry will go forth and do all that
-
you've purposed it to do and that we can
-
be a part of that. We thank you for many
-
more lives getting what we got tonight.
-
many more people coming up to new levels
-
in the spirit because of what we got
-
tonight. We thank you for that. We put
-
purpose on our giving tonight. We put
-
love on our giving tonight. And we thank
-
you that it will
-
do what you purpose it to do. And so we
-
give you honor, be glorified, and be
-
magnified in in the name of the Lord
-
Jesus. And everybody said, "Amen." Amen.
-
Amen.
-
Hallelujah.
-
Praise God.
-
Wow.
-
I was super blessed.
-
I was super blessed. Praise God.
-
Hallelujah.
-
I hear about these oldtime meetings and
-
I'm like, "Wow, praise God." I start to
-
have a nostalgia for something that I
-
never I wasn't there. But that's real
-
cool. Amen. I I believe that. I believe
-
that like your latter days shall be
-
greater. Amen.
-
>> Um like Pastor Mark says, he didn't
-
start the church off with fire for us to
-
end in ice.
-
And uh man, praise God. But that really
-
does take faith to believe because
-
sometimes we can see maybe patterns that
-
you know, but it's like, no, that's
-
true. Amen. Praise God. So that's so
-
that's just so good. I'm encouraged.
-
Amen. Um
-
again, if you're a firsttime guest, uh
-
would you text the word welcome to
-
918-2157066?
-
Um, and again, uh, when you fill out
-
that information, there is a free drink
-
that you can get in the cafe. Um, they
-
will take care of you. Um, we've got
-
some really, uh, cool drinks back there.
-
Um, and that's all that we have. I'm so
-
glad that we all came. Would you guys
-
like to rise? We'll all rise together.
-
Amen. Praise God. Um, let's say our
-
vision statement together. We live by
-
the word. We're led by the spirit. We
-
love the world. You guys have a blessed
-
one.
