communion this morning as a family and

uh I'm going to start out with excuse me

start out with a couple verses and um

everybody does it a little bit

differently. There's a church that we,

you know, we've we haven't been there

for years now, but uh we know the

pastors and and uh uh they were it was a

large church and they were doing uh dual

morning Sunday morning services. And

last time we were there, the the 8:00 or

8:30, whatever morning service. Uh they

the first service they always did a

normal service, but at the end of the

morning first service, they always

received communion as a family. Then

they went into the second service.

Everybody does a little different. I'm

thinking, was it Smith Wigglesworth that

got up and took communion every morning?

Did Did I get the Was that right? Well,

you know, everybody just chooses what

they're going to do. And I've studied to

try to find out what the what the system

in this was. And best I could find was

the Apostle Paul wrote to the

Corinthians and he said verse 11 23, for

I've received of the Lord that which I

also declared unto you. Okay. So,

apparently this this what he's about to

talk about must be a really important

thing because he didn't say I saw Jesus

do this. He didn't say I was sitting at

the at the last supper with Jesus and

the disciples. Paul wasn't around for

that yet. But he did say this was must

be so important that I received of the

Lord

a voice, a vision, a visitation, an

angelic v. I don't know. We don't know

exactly. But he said, "I've received of

the Lord that which I also I delivered

unto you that the Lord Jesus the same

night in which he was betrayed took

bread." He Paul wasn't there, but God

showed that to him. This must be really

something really important. And what was

it? He said, um, and when he'd given

thanks, he broke it and he said, "Take,

eat. This is my body which is broken for

you." Uh, this do in remembrance of me.

For after um after the same manner, he

also took the cup when he had sucked,

saying, "This cup is the new testament

in my blood. This do you as often as you

drink it." uh and in the in remembrance

of me. So he's talking about what we'd

call communion. He's talking about the

last supper. He's talking about Jesus

last supper with his disciples, the

night in which he was betrayed. And

isn't it interesting? He didn't act like

this was not that big a deal. It was not

that important. This was so good that

God showed it to him later on. The

Apostle Paul, he said, "I received of

the Lord that which I also delivered

unto you." In other words, he gave it to

me and I'm giving it to you and I'm

reminding you of that. I'm going to talk

to you about it. And then he says in

verse 26, "For as often as you eat this

bread and drink this cup, you do show

the Lord's death until he comes." Yeah.

Every time we receive communion, we're

prophesying Jesus came the first time.

And I'm enjoying the benefits of

redemption. But he's coming. Every time

we receive communion, we do show the

Lord's death till he comes. We're

prophesying. We're predicting he came

the first time and he's coming the

second time.

>> We're just letting the world know. We're

letting the church know. believe that

the redeemer that came the first time to

redeem us is coming back to pick us up

and take us home. And so anyway,

Paul's writing this, but isn't it

interesting? He didn't say, "Do this

every week. Do this every month. Do this

every fifth." Now, we normally around

here do the you we receive communion on

the when we have a fifth Sunday just

because that's what just seemed good for

us to do. But Paul Paul said as often as

you do this. He didn't say do it this

much, do it this often. He didn't he

didn't give us a a a strict guideline on

this thing. As often as you do this, you

do show the Lord's death till he comes.

In other words, whatever seems good to

you, just do it. If you want to do it

every Sunday, do it. If you want to do

it once a month, do it. Whatever. Just

find what works for you. And so, um, so

we were actually just about a week week

and a half ago, Pastor Jen and I were

talking. We said, "Well, we we get back

uh we got I don't know, we got in at I

don't know 10 10:30, something like

that, Friday night." And so we were kind

of reorganizing yesterday and said,

"Let's do let's have a good churchwide

communion service. It's been a little

while since we've had one, but it's so

it must be important or the Lord Jesus

would not have given that to Paul to

give to the church even after he's gone.

It's good for us." And as often as we do

this, we do show the Lord's death till

he comes. But um I was actually letting

this roll around yesterday on the one of

the flights on the way home or Friday

and uh um I was thinking about the fact

that you know we we we you know if we

don't watch it we let something like

this turn into a just a ritual. Well,

it's just time for communion. That's

just what you do every fifth Sunday or

you do every you know once a month or

whatever. It's bigger than that. It's

more than that. And and it just rolled

rolls up on the inside of me. I I

remembered um there was a family that

came to the church a number of years

ago. They they actually came pretty

sporadically, but uh I can remember one

time we were going to have we you know

we had announced we're going to have a

communion service and the the u the the

the father the husband uh he said uh saw

him at after church. I said, "Well, good

to see you, whoever you are." But

anyway, no, I I didn't I didn't he

actually is a friend has been for a long

time. But um uh you know I I said he

said I I he said I I I uh I pulled my

back out this week. He said I couldn't

function doing anything. And he said I

he said all of a sudden I I heard you're

having a communion service at church.

And I thought I'm going to church and

I'm going to get my healing because

there's healing in communion. And I said

well did it work? He said yeah during

the communion service he said my back

healed up. I'm perfectly healed and went

back to work the next day. See, there

there's more to it when we start

receiving communion.

There's more to it than just the the the

the the cup, the bread. You know, we we

understand the importance of that. And

it's important that we understand that.

You know, we know Paul said, "For this

cause many are weak and sickly among

you, and many sleep. Many die early, not

rightly discerning the body of Christ."

In other words, if we don't understand

that his body was broken for me so my

body could be made well, that can cause

my body to get sick, stay sick, and

maybe send me home early. There's

something important about understanding

that it wasn't just his blood that was

shed for my new birth. His body was

broken, so mine doesn't have to be.

>> Doesn't matter how bad mine got. It

doesn't matter what sickness there is,

what disease there was, doesn't make any

difference. However bad it got, Jesus'

body was broken. So mine doesn't have to

be.

>> And so anyway,

going back through there, I was thinking

about that and I thought I was thinking

about this man that that uh you know, he

didn't go to church all that often. Last

I knew still doesn't go to church that

often. But one thing about it, he knew

when there's going to be a communion

service because he knew he could go get

healing in his body. Somehow he got

that. There's a guy, I couldn't even

tell you his name right now. There's a

guy used to be on Christian TV. He was

quite a character. um he he's he's left

and I think gone to heaven, but he uh um

I'm pretty sure, but anyway, uh you

know, but his he he'd get on and and

teach on a regular basis and um you

know, he'd he'd put wear a big hat and

smoke a cigar and and uh

>> Jean Scott, thank you. Anyway, never met

him. Don't know anything about him, but

anyway. Anyway, but his message, that

guy could te he could teach covenant and

redemption and communion better than

anybody I've ever heard. I mean, he

could just he could just spend hours

just teaching on TV and lay it out there

where you go, man, I just want to go

take communion right now, somebody

because he he has such a confidence in

that, you know, that and cigars. But

anyway, um

I he's he's on the other side. I can

pick on him now. But uh you know but but

the bottom line is um you know go going

back through there um I was thinking

about that and then I thought you know

if we go back really to the to the the

origin the origin technically of of what

we think about as communion. we go back.

Best thing we can think of is when

everything got its start was back there

in Exodus the technically when uh

Genesis 15th chapter where God spoke to

Abram about a covenant and he you know

basically he said uh your people will go

into a foreign land they'll serve

another people it's not their place

they'll be slaves in that land for 400

years and then I'll deliver them with

great substance and he really really

prophesied to to Abram about a covenant

he was raising up with him. And he said,

"You might as well get ready for the

fact that your people are going to go

into a foreign land, actually into the

land of Egypt. They're going to go in

there." And when it started out, it was

going to be real good. Ended up was

going to be real bad. They're going to

be slaves in another land. They're going

to build houses and somebody else is

going to live in them. They're going to

raise crops and somebody else is going

to eat them. They're going to live in

tents and somebody else going to have to

take care of them. And there's going to

be about somewhere between, best I can

tell, two and a half to three million

Israelites there. I mean, how do you

control a nation of two and a half to

three million people in a land like

that? I don't know, but they did it. And

so, you got Israel in the bondage of

Egypt there for 430 years. And then you

go to the second chapter of the book of

Exodus and said the people got sick and

tired of being sick and tired.

>> It'd been 430 years. And they began to

cry out to God by reason of their

bondage. And God heard their cry,

remembered his co. He hadn't forgotten

his covenant, but he said, "Put me in

remembrance, sayeth God. Let us plead

together. Declare thou that thou mayest

be justified. He was waiting for

somebody to remind him.

>> Funny how that works that way. Are we

reminding him of what he said to us?

>> We He needs He needs us to remind Lord.

You said in your word, by Jesus stripes

I was healed.

>> You said it. I didn't come up with idea

this idea. You did it long before I got

here. You said my God supplies all my

need. You said that. I'm putting I am

putting you in remembrance. You said,

"No weapon formed against me can

prosper. Since God be for me, who can be

against me?" You said it in your word.

You said it all the way through the

scriptures.

>> And so anyway, so we see back there that

that um uh Israel began to cry out to

God. Second chapter of the book, end of

the second chapter of the uh of Exodus,

began to cry out to God by reason of

their bondage. God heard their cry,

remembered their the covenant,

remembered what he said to Abram, and he

went out in the backside of the desert

and find a guy that was backslid out

there. He'd killed a guy, got ready to

kill another one, ran for his life. He's

out there. He's gone from the top place

in the kingdom of of uh uh Egypt. Now

he's out there just taking care of sheep

out in the desert. But God knew who knew

the hand of God on him. Sometimes we

just need to know it's not over till

it's over.

>> I made some mistakes. Well, join the

human race. done some stupid things,

join the human race. Done some bad

things, hurt some people, join the human

race. That's why there's forgiveness.

>> Hallelujah.

>> 1 John 1:9, we know from the scriptures,

1 John 1:9

we confess our sins, he's

>> faithful and just to forgive us our

sins.

>> Heard somebody say one time, "Well,

that's really not for the church. That's

for, you know, somebody else." And I

said, "Well, funny thing was, last I

checked, John was born again.

1 John 1:9, if we confess our sins, he's

1 John 1:9

not talking about that somebody else.

He's talking about him and everybody

else. That's extra. But anyway,

anyway, where was I? Anyway, and so, uh,

he goes out there and, you know, and

then the angel of the Lord appears to

to, uh, Moses out there in the burning

bush and he calls him and he equips him

with signs, wonders, and miracles and

sends him in and he becomes a deliverer

and a judge for the nation of Israel.

You got two and a half to three million

people in there in bondage. They're

getting sick, poor, sorry. They're

getting beat up, beat down, everything

else. But God sends a deliverer in

there. Okay? And so when he does that,

we look back there and and uh uh

they Moses goes in there before Pharaoh

and says, "Let God's people go." And he

goes, "No, I don't think so. I have two

and a half to three million free slaves.

I'm not going to let them go and try to

get somebody I got to pay." No, I'm not

going to let them go. He said, "You you

really might better do it." And Pharaoh

wouldn't do it. So, next thing you know,

here comes the plague. And he said, "I'm

still not going to let him go. Here

comes another one. Not going to let him

go. Here comes lice. Oo, not going to

let him go. Here comes frogs. Not going

to let him go. Here comes stinky dead

fish. Not going to I mean, they went

they went plague after plague after

plague after plague after plague. And

then the sorcerers are they're trying to

repeat the same things. And to a degree,

they could do some of that. Finally, God

said, "Okay, enough's enough. I got one

more. I got one more. And when I do this

one, when I do this one, Pharaoh's going

to let my people go. Moses said, "Okay,

let's do it." He said, "I Moses went and

told him, said, there's one more coming.

You really might better do yourself a

favor." Said, "I'm not going to do it."

And so God said, "Tell everybody in the

nation of Israel." We won't go back. Of

course, that's a whole another, you

know, weekl long story about all that.

But he, uh, he said he he said to, um,

uh,

anyway, um,

somebody messed my clock up.

They keep telling me not to look at it.

But anyway, um, you know, so, so, uh,

get myself back where I was. And so you

got, um, Israel's in the bondage of

Egypt, and you got Moses in there, and

you got all the plagues that have come.

And God says, "There's one more coming."

And he said, "Tell every family to get a

lamb.

>> Tell every family to get a lamb." You

know, if if the family's not big enough,

have them just get with their neighbors

and they'll have they'll they'll they'll

share one. But every family every a lamb

for a house. A lamb for a house. Nobody

gets in on there's no freebie on this

thing.

Okay. Well, I'm just going to ride in on

somebody else's coattail. I'm going to

get it by osmosis. No, there's a family

for a house, a lamb for a family. So he

told him about that and he said and take

that shortcut on all this he told him he

said take that and when I tell you to uh

I think it's between the the seventh and

the ninth hours between the third and

fifth hours of the day I'm going to tell

you to take that lamb and kill the lamb

every family does kill the lamb the lamb

the lamb will die when it does take the

blood of that lamb and put the blood on

the doorposts put it where on the two

side post and on the doorpost. What's

that? It's a God's trying to show them

the cross back there a couple thousand

years before Jesus came to die on the

cross. What's he doing? He's showing

them redemption. He's showing and

they're having they're going to have a

communion service. He said, "Take the

blood of that lamb. Drain the blood out.

Put it on the two side post and don't

put it on the floor. I don't want

anything under my feet."

Okay? It's not it's not going to be on

the floor of these houses. Put it on the

two side post. Put it on the upper

doorpost. And at at night, stay behind

the blood.

Stay behind the blood because at night,

death's going to pass through. And the

the firstborn of every family,

animal, plant,

human, the firstborn of every family,

death is going to strike and take the

first one out. And u death's going to

come through. But every time death goes

by and sees the blood, death will pass

over.

>> That's good.

>> Death will pass over.

And so he said, "And he said," then when

you after you do, no, we don't want to

stop there. God's not done. God's not a

halfway redeemer.

>> Come on.

>> He didn't say, "We'll take care of you.

I'll get you out of there. You'll be

miserable, but I'll get you out." No. He

did say in the 91st Psalm, with long

life, I'll satis God wants life to be

satisfying.

So he says, uh, you just tell them when

they do that, then take of the body of

that lamb. You've drained the blood,

you've killed the lamb, the price has

been paid, the blood's on the doorpost.

Death's going to go by, it's going to

pass by your place if the blood's on

your doorpost. But when you do, before

the afternoon, the evening is over, take

that animal and roast it. Don't boil it.

Roast it with fire.

>> Whole another story in that. We don't

have time, but roast that body and um do

it with the head, the legs, the

pertinance there. In other words, roast

that body and then partake. After you've

put the blood on the doorpost, then

partake of the body.

You got the blood to get you out. You

got the body to Why? Why are you going

to take care of the body?

If you follow this through, he says,

"When you partake of that, get ready

because the next morning, put your shoes

on your feet, your staff in your hand.

get ready to go because you're getting

out of this place.

>> And when you get to the 105th Psalm,

37th verse, God says back there, he says

he brought them forth.

>> Brought them forth with silver and gold.

And now remember, there's two and a half

to three million. Best we can tell. Lot

of different opinions, but you know, we

know who's right. Anyway, two and a half

to three million Israelites. They're

going to go out free. Death's going to

pass over. So, it's not going to take

any of their family. But he didn't say,

you know, put all the sick and the lame

and the diseased in the carts and get

horses and oxen and get ways to to drag

them on out of this place. No, he said,

when you go to bed at night, you make

sure you partake of that body. And if

there's anything left, roast it with

fire, burn it because we don't want

anything left. We want to make sure we

make good use of this body because

there's a price being paid. When you

partake of this body, when you do that,

the lamb,

the blood will get them out. But what

about the body? When you do that, put

your shoes on your Well, what if what if

you can't walk? Put your shoes on your

feet anyway.

>> What if you can't get around? Put your

shoes on your feet. Put your staff in

your hand. Why? That's so you can walk

fast. Why do you need all that? Why?

Because you're getting out of here. And

the Bible said 105th Psalm 37th verse,

he brought them forth with silver and

gold. And there was not one feeble

person among their tribes.

Got 12 tribes. Not a sick, not a lame,

not a broke. He didn't say get all your

bottles of medicine. Get all the No, he

didn't say wasn't against it. He just

said you're not If you partake of the

blood, you're going out. If you partake

of the body, you're going out healthy.

>> He brought them forth with silver and

gold. There was not one feeble person

among their tribes.

>> Not one. Think about that. Three and a

half. Can you imagine? Tulsa's what?

750,000 people. Can you imagine the city

of Tulsa? Three times the size of what

we are with not one sick person in the

whole place.

>> They didn't have medicine. They didn't

have doctors. They didn't have they

didn't have anything back there. All

they had was a lamb.

And I was thinking about that Friday on

the plane. I thought, you know what

happened? Communion wasn't supposed to

be just a time when you get together and

take some of the cup and take some of

the bread, go back to your seat and make

sure you're not in unforgiveness for

somebody and and and try to stay awake

and and then we're going to all partake

of it and we're all going to go. It's

bigger than that. If this this guy

that's not even consistently going to

church says, "I'm going to go cuz

there's healing." when they're having

communion, my goodness, when we have a

communion service, it shouldn't be,

well, let's just get together and have

have some bread and some cup. No, it

should be, let's go get the healing

power of the Lord Jesus in our bodies.

>> Let's go get the benefits of redemption.

Let's get the healing power of Jesus

from the top of our head to the soles of

our feet. My goodness, if we got 300,

350 in here, why shouldn't we have a 350

member of healing class in here with

anybody getting any sick in there, but

anywhere in their body, if it's going in

your body, it ought to go out of your

body.

>> Hallelujah. Glory to God. I haven't even

got to my message yet, but we we need to

get to our feet because we got to

receive communion.

>> Hallelujah. Is there more to it than

that? Oh, absolutely. Yes, there is. If

we had time,

>> halal,

>> healing,

>> healing. So when we when we when we

partake of communion, when we take of

the the the the symbols of the of the

the body, broken body, shed blood of

Jesus, put your faith on that.

>> Put your faith on that. Say, "Lord, I'm

going. I'm going. You paid the price for

my sin. You paid the price for my

sickness. I'm going to receive the

benefits of that. And I'm taking my I'm

>> I'm taking mine today.

>> I'm taking mine. I'm not Why? Why do you

remember the lepers?

>> Said, "Why sit we here till we die?"

>> They were lepers unclean under the law.

They said, "Why sit we here till we die?

Let's just go into the to the Syrian

camp and see if we can get something

from them." They got there and God had

driven them all out. They killed each

other off. They said, "Why sit? Why I

think in our in our Christian mentality,

why sit here till we die? Why sit we

here until nothing works? Why sit we

here until something Why Why sit we here

when the diagnosis, the prognosis? Why

sit we here when when nothing's working?

Why don't we tap into something that's

supposed to work?

>> Hallelujah. This whole thing started in

this this whole thing started in the

really the 12th chapter of the book of

Exodus when God told him just take a

lamb,

kill it. Well, why should they kill a

lamb? Because it's a picture of the one

who died for us.

>> What should they do with the blood? Put

it on your life.

>> Like a cross. Put it Why should they do

that? Because that's what God did for

us.

>> What should they do with the body?

Partake of that. How do you partake of

it? With your mouth.

>> I'm going to get my healing.

>> Yeah, but you don't know how bad it is.

Well, I don't have to, but I know how

good God is.

>> Hallelujah. Glory. Let's all stand to

our feet.

Hallelujah. Glory to God.

Glory to God. Now, this, you know, this

is the time, you know, if we're going to

partake of the blessing of God, the shed

blood, the broken body, first thing we

want to do is make sure we qualify.

Well, I'm born again, I qualify. Yeah.

But, you know, you know, if you read

Mark the 11th chapter, verse 25, God

says back there, if you're going to ask,

ask in faith. He said, 'If you're going

to do that, make sure you don't have any

ill will or animosity towards somebody

else. This is a good time to keep the

pipes cleaned out. This is a good time

to make sure I'm not holding anything

against anybody. Well, somebody's hurt

me. Well, you probably hurt a few

yourself. That's got nothing to do with

it. Sometimes it's just a matter of you

just got to let it go. Yeah, but you

don't know what they did. Don't know

what they did. Don't care what they did.

But why let it ruin you?

>> So you can hang on to that. Shake it

off. shake it off.

When we went on one part of Pastor

Janet's uh birthy year trips

and uh you know we we we landed at the

island of Malta. Malta is Malita. What's

Malita? Well, read your Bible and find

out. Anyway, no, that's where Paul was

shipwrecked.

It's where he was shipwrecked. And they

built a fire and a viper came out of the

fire and latched on to him, you know,

and and everybody thought he's going to

fall over dead. Thought he must be a bad

guy. The vip the snakes have got him.

But the Bible said he shook it off.

>> You know, sometimes you just need to

shake things off in the fire.

>> Yeah, but you don't know how bad this

is. Yeah, but I know how good the fire

is. Sometimes you just got to shake

things off and shake it off in the fire.

Yeah, but I got bit by something. Shake

it off in the fire.

Yeah, but it's your doctor said this.

Well, that's fine. They're telling you

what it's like naturally. Do something

spiritually. Shake it off. Do like Paul.

>> He didn't have any snake medicine. He

just shook it off in the fire and went

on. Got in the next boat, went to uh

Rome and and appealed to Caesar. Preach

the gospel to the very head of the

spiritual world. Well, what did he do?

He just shook it off. Sometimes we need

to shake things off.

>> Yeah, but things are bad. I don't

Doesn't matter. Doesn't does not matter.

Don't make it bad. Don't make it worse.

Shake them. Shake it off.

>> Sometimes we ought to have a shaken off

service.

>> Shake it off.

>> You know,

>> yeah, but I deserve No, you don't

deserve anything. If you got what you

deserve, well, we know what that would

be.

>> That's hot.

>> I got to get going. Hallelujah. Glory to

God. Hallelujah. Praise God. Praise God.

Praise God. Well, we've got we've got

our emblems and now we need our our our

pastoral staff here. Hallelujah.

Glory to God. Pastor Ryan, we've got

Pastor Madlock.

Hallelujah. Pastor Janet. You got

anything, babe? You sure? You sure you

don't have anything?

Nothing at all?

Anybody? Anybody could I can go home

with you.

Hallelujah. Glory to God.

I better get back to the Bible. I'm in

safe territory.

He says here, Paul writing to the

Corinthians, he said, "Wherefore,

whosoever shall eat this bread and drink

this cup of the Lord unworthily," didn't

say unworthy, said unworth, unworthy is

what you are, unworthily is how you take

it.

Shall be guilty of the body and blood of

the Lord. I don't want to be guilty of

that just by being getting getting a

spirit of stupid on me. But let a man

examine himself. Don't Don't let

everybody else examine you. They got

their problems.

Let a man examine himself. And so let

him eat of that bread and drink of that

cup. For he that eateth and drinkketh

unworthily eateth and drinkkeeth

damnation to himself, not discerning the

Lord's body. For this cause many are

weak and sickly among you, and many

sleep. Now, we could go a whole other

direction with that, but really what he

says back here, he tells us what we're

going to do. So, we start out. What

we're going to do is we're going to just

um we're going to serve everybody if

it's your choice, of course. Okay. I

highly recommend everybody take time,

close your eyes, look on the inside,

say, "God, is there any anything I need

to let go of? Anybody I need to forgive?

Anybody I need to shake it off and go, I

am not going to let that I'm not going

to let that keep me out of the blessing

of God by just being aggravating."

Okay? And so, uh, anyway, so we'll do

that and then what we'll do is we'll

serve everybody as you come by the the

tables here and if you'll take that and

go back to your seats and then we'll

just all receive at the same time. We'll

make it how good and pleasant it is for

the brethren to dwell together in unity.

We'll we'll all receive together and

then we'll check out and go home for the

afternoon. Glory to God. So, um, Father,

thank you. Thank you. Thank you by the

Holy Ghost for stirring us on the

inside, letting us know we can let go of

anything we need to let go of. shake off

anything we need to shake off. Thank

you, Father. Nothing's been done to us

that's worth us being crazy about it and

letting go of the benefits of the blood

and the body. So, I thank you for it,

dear Father. You, Father, you send your

word for this cause. Many are weak and

sickly among you and and many die early.

Lord, I don't want anything pushing me

over the edge for for my thinking I got

the right to hold something against

somebody. Nobody's done anything to me

any bigger than what I did to Jesus.

And so we thank you for it in Jesus

name. Father. Amen. Amen. Amen.
