  1. At the first part of the year, the Lord

  2. told me, he said, "Everywhere you go

  3. outside of Cap's Chapel to preach, I

  4. want you to talk about the guidance of

  5. the Holy Spirit."

  6. >> I went, "Oh, wow. This is the first time

  7. God's ever said anything like that to

  8. me. I'm so excited because I don't have

  9. to study and prepare for a new sermon

  10. every time. I know what I'm speaking

  11. on."

  12. And yet so far, every time I've gotten

  13. ready to speak, it's about following the

  14. Holy Spirit, but it's on a different

  15. level.

  16. >> So today, this is what the Holy Spirit

  17. gave me. And I want to start and begin

  18. with first of all, let's just let's just

  19. go over some basics and and then we'll

  20. get into the text for the day.

  21. But let's talk about what destiny is.

  22. How many of you have heard the word

  23. destiny? And when it happens, don't you

  24. kind of get this woo? [singing]

  25. Destiny. Woo!

  26. You know,

  27. and what what does that mean? What is

  28. it? Well, and then we have people, and

  29. I've used this scripture myself that

  30. says that God says, "I know the plans I

  31. have for you. Plans for good and not for

  32. evil. Plans to prosper you. Plans to

  33. bless you.

  34. A and we think about God's plans and

  35. God's purposes. And then we've got this

  36. thing out here that's that's destiny

  37. that kind of floats around. So let's

  38. let's just start out by differentiating

  39. the difference. How about that?

  40. Differentiating the difference between

  41. plan, purpose, destiny, and fate. Let's

  42. just start there and then we're going to

  43. go to the word. All right. What is a

  44. plan? Has anybody ever had a plan?

  45. >> How many of you don't like to plan?

  46. Don't raise your hand though. How many

  47. of you are really planners down to the

  48. very last everything? Okay. So, you know

  49. what a plan is? A plan is an actionable

  50. stepbystep

  51. method to achieve a specific outcome. It

  52. is a blueprint and from current that

  53. goes from current state to future

  54. outcome.

  55. That makes sense, right? It's a

  56. stepby-step thing that goes from you

  57. where you are now to where you're going.

  58. So, you've got a plan to get there. How

  59. many of you plan to eat lunch today

  60. after church? Do you have a plan to get

  61. there? Oh, honey, let's go to such and

  62. such restaurant today.

  63. Okay. So, in your mind, you know where

  64. the restaurant is, how probably how

  65. you're going to get there, right? So,

  66. that's a plan. That's a plan. All right.

  67. What is a purpose?

  68. A purpose is the reason something is

  69. done, created,

  70. or exist.

  71. The reason behind it. What's the reason

  72. behind you going to lunch? You're

  73. hungry.

  74. [laughter]

  75. That's pretty simple, isn't it? Okay.

  76. So, there's a purpose and there's a

  77. plan. So we talk about God's plans and

  78. in a very expansive way God we know

  79. God's plan from Genesis to Revelation.

  80. It's revealed to us and exposed to us,

  81. right? We know the plan of salvation. We

  82. knew the plan to send the Messiah. So we

  83. have the big plan. And what's the

  84. purpose? We know the purpose is that God

  85. wanted you back.

  86. That's right.

  87. >> He wanted you back.

  88. >> And the ultimate end is he wants you

  89. back and he wants the earth back.

  90. >> His entire creation.

  91. >> So there we have plan, we have purpose

  92. and then we have destiny.

  93. All right. So this is a

  94. I guess well I got it off the internet

  95. just searching you know for different

  96. things on the internet.

  97. Destiny is a predetermined course of

  98. events in your life a force a power that

  99. guides your future.

  100. That sound about right? Okay. So then

  101. let's go to something else.

  102. Fate.

  103. Anybody ever heard of fate?

  104. >> In Greek mythology, there were three

  105. sisters, the fates.

  106. >> And they determined when you were born,

  107. what you did. They determined how long

  108. you lived. And one of them ended up

  109. cutting the string. Says that's the end

  110. of them.

  111. >> That doesn't sound very godly, does it?

  112. >> And it's also very not right because we

  113. know that there is not a fate. There is

  114. not a predetermined thing that you're

  115. going to die on this date because those

  116. things are changeable because we have

  117. Hezekiah for one. God said, "Get stuff

  118. in order. You're going to die."

  119. >> And then he turned his face to the wall

  120. and said, "Lord,

  121. >> I'm not basically I'm not ready to go."

  122. And God turned the prophet around and

  123. sent him back

  124. >> and said, "I'm giving you 15 more

  125. years."

  126. So there was not a fate attached to

  127. that. Okay, that fate is

  128. well listen to the difference here. Fate

  129. is an unavoidable

  130. external force that dictates exactly

  131. what happens to you.

  132. And people that believe that are called

  133. fatalist.

  134. Now listen to the difference between

  135. that. Every time you hear somebody say,

  136. "Well, that was just fate."

  137. It's usually associated with car wrecks,

  138. disastrous, death, and the negative side

  139. of life most of the time.

  140. So, if it's unavoidable, this is what

  141. the devil would like people to believe.

  142. It's unavoidable external force that

  143. dictates exactly what happens so that

  144. you don't make any attempt to change

  145. anything in your life.

  146. It doesn't matter what choice I make. It

  147. doesn't matter what I do, it's going to

  148. happen.

  149. >> I know people right now that are

  150. believing to die at a certain age

  151. because their parents did.

  152. >> That's that that's not

  153. >> well, you get what you believe,

  154. >> right?

  155. >> You get what you believe, you get what

  156. you say. But that's not the way God

  157. wants you to do it.

  158. >> He wants you to live out the full span

  159. of your life. And he not only wants you

  160. to live out the full span of your life.

  161. He wants you to live it in health.

  162. >> Not sick, not disease. He wants you to

  163. live it in health.

  164. >> Amen.

  165. >> Well, I'm going lots of ways today, but

  166. we're getting the point across.

  167. >> You've been destined to something. And

  168. the way people pick their destiny and

  169. decide that their destiny is a certain

  170. thing is that they do it from their own

  171. mind, their own plans, and their own

  172. purposes.

  173. >> But we're not interested in that as born

  174. again believers. We should be interested

  175. in God's plan, God's purpose, God's

  176. divine destiny for all of his creation.

  177. >> Are you getting it? Yes.

  178. >> Okay. So, let's go to our scripture if

  179. we could and our

  180. first Corinthians 2 verses 6-1

  181. 16

  182. and I think this is the way translation

  183. because that was the um the version I

  184. chose for this. All right. 1 Corinthians

  185. 2 beginning with verse 6. When we are

  186. among mature believers, we do not speak

  187. words of wisdom.

  188. That doesn't sound right.

  189. How about I read it to you out of my

  190. Bible?

  191. All right. 1 Corinians

  192. 2 6.

  193. Yeah, this may be a different

  194. translation perhaps. All right.

  195. He says there is a wisdom that we utter

  196. among the mature. Do you know there's a

  197. difference? There's a wisdom we utter

  198. among the mature. A wisdom, however, not

  199. deriving from the present age.

  200. [clears throat]

  201. >> I'm just going to stop there for a

  202. second.

  203. >> We usually say from the present world,

  204. but that's not what this says. From the

  205. present age. What age are we living in?

  206. We're living in the church age, the age

  207. of grace.

  208. >> So, the wisdom that Paul's talking about

  209. is coming from a different age.

  210. >> It's not ages past.

  211. It's not the present age.

  212. It is the future age.

  213. In other words, he's saying to those who

  214. are mature in Christ, I can speak from

  215. the future.

  216. I can speak from eternal truths and you

  217. will grasp it.

  218. >> But he goes on to say about the ones

  219. that are not mature. [laughter]

  220. He doesn't he can't speak in the depths

  221. of the wisdom. So not deriving from the

  222. present age, not from the powers who are

  223. in control of this age.

  224. >> Does there is everybody familiar with

  225. the powers that are in control of this

  226. age?

  227. >> The devil is still here. His cohorts are

  228. still here.

  229. These powers are still here. Jesus has

  230. defeated those powers, but they're still

  231. here. And why are they here? I'm just

  232. going to follow the Holy Spirit. I know

  233. I that goes without saying,

  234. >> but they're still here. Why are they

  235. still here if Jesus defeated them?

  236. Because there is a time.

  237. >> There is a shifting of the age.

  238. >> And it is not until the next age that

  239. the devil will be bound. That is why

  240. when Jesus encountered devils, demons,

  241. and evil spirits, they said, "Whoa, I

  242. know you who you are, the Holy One of

  243. God.

  244. >> Have you come to torment us before?"

  245. [clears throat]

  246. >> The time.

  247. Before the time.

  248. >> They know they have a destiny.

  249. [laughter]

  250. And they know when the time has come,

  251. that's it.

  252. >> The end. But we're still dealing with

  253. the powers of this age in the current

  254. time. But we're not operating.

  255. >> We are not operating from this age. We

  256. are operating from the next age.

  257. And Paul said, "And have tasted of the

  258. powers of the world that is, no, have

  259. tasted the powers of the world to come."

  260. >> So you and I are challenged to live in

  261. this earth and not operate in the powers

  262. of this age or in whatever we think is

  263. going on. But we are assign we have an

  264. assignment and a destiny to operate in

  265. the powers of the world to come.

  266. >> In other words, we are to act as if the

  267. world to come is already established

  268. because Jesus said the kingdom of God is

  269. in you

  270. >> now. Not that the kingdom of God one of

  271. is going to come during the millennium.

  272. The kingdom of God is in you now. And

  273. that is your divine connection to the

  274. millennial age to the world to come.

  275. >> Glory.

  276. >> Glory. Okay, I need to get closer to you

  277. guys. Can somebody move my podium down

  278. there?

  279. I want to look you in the face. I want

  280. to see you because this is a word.

  281. This is a word

  282. >> for this church. Every time I come here,

  283. God gives me a word for this body of

  284. believers, for this church. This church

  285. has a destiny.

  286. >> We think of people having destinies,

  287. >> and they do,

  288. >> but this church has a destiny.

  289. >> It was established with a destiny. And

  290. you can see part of the destiny. Look at

  291. all the flags around to touch the

  292. nations of the world. But the other part

  293. of the destiny of this church is to keep

  294. alive the moving of the Holy Spirit to

  295. keep some people somewhere on this earth

  296. that know how to flow in the gifts of

  297. the spirit that know how to flow with

  298. the Holy Spirit of God.

  299. >> You say, "Well, doesn't everybody do

  300. that?" No.

  301. >> [laughter]

  302. >> So there is a destiny for this church.

  303. >> Now you will not find your destiny a lot

  304. of times in the in the places you're

  305. looking for. Let's go on with this

  306. scripture.

  307. So the p it does not come from the

  308. powers who are in control of this age.

  309. Though their days are numbered, we speak

  310. God's wisdom in a mystery,

  311. a mystery,

  312. a hidden wisdom

  313. which before the world began,

  314. before the world began, God

  315. purposed.

  316. There's that word purpose, a reason.

  317. What was the reason? He purposed this

  318. wisdom held in the ministry in the mi in

  319. a mystery also held in the ministry. But

  320. he purposed

  321. >> this hidden wisdom that was in a mystery

  322. that he purposed for our

  323. >> glory.

  324. >> To tap into the glory, you must tap in

  325. the wis wisdom.

  326. The wisdom that comes not in this age

  327. but the next age.

  328. >> This wisdom is a wisdom which not one of

  329. the powers who control the present age

  330. has learned.

  331. >> Yeah, you can see that. For if they had

  332. learned it, they would not have

  333. crucified the Lord of glory.

  334. >> Now here what it says. But we speak to

  335. use the words of scripture. Did you know

  336. Paul knew the scriptures?

  337. >> Paul knew the scriptures.

  338. >> And that's one of the reasons I like

  339. this right here. This uh way is because

  340. he sets apart

  341. he sets apart the scriptures from the

  342. Old Testament so that you know what

  343. comes what is he quoting here. So Paul

  344. says, we speak to use the words of

  345. scripture of things which I has not seen

  346. nor ear heard and which has not entered

  347. into the heart of man.

  348. All

  349. that God has in readiness for them that

  350. love him.

  351. >> Your eyes haven't seen it. Your ears

  352. haven't seen it. The powers of this age,

  353. their eyes and ears haven't seen it. is

  354. there's nothing in their heart there the

  355. things that God has prepared for us.

  356. But here's how you find it. You are not

  357. going to find your destiny. Nobody will

  358. ever find their destiny with their head.

  359. >> With your mind. You'll never find it

  360. with your mind. So let's look. I'm

  361. telling you, I'm just preaching from

  362. Paul here today.

  363. >> Glory. says, "For God has revealed them

  364. through the spirit."

  365. >> That's it. Yes, ma'am.

  366. >> The destiny comes into the spirit. It is

  367. revealed through the spirit. For the

  368. spirit searches everything, including

  369. the deeps of God.

  370. >> Now,

  371. a lot of times the translators here like

  372. to put the Holy Spirit searches all

  373. things, the deep things of God. But if

  374. the Holy Spirit is part of the Trinity,

  375. why would God have to search God?

  376. >> So I thoroughly believe that this should

  377. be the spirit of man searches all

  378. things.

  379. >> Amen.

  380. >> Including the deep things of God.

  381. >> It is your spirit that seeks out and

  382. searches a purpose in life. It is your

  383. spirit that seeks out a reason for

  384. things that seeks out a plan. That seeks

  385. out a purpose. It seeks out a destiny, a

  386. reason for being alive on this earth.

  387. >> It is your spirit.

  388. >> And even the unregenerate spirit of man

  389. seeks these things.

  390. >> Hallelujah.

  391. >> And psychologists tell us that those who

  392. have a sense of purpose live longer and

  393. have happier lives.

  394. >> Well, duh.

  395. >> Of course.

  396. >> Yes, sir.

  397. But the the the issue is here and I've

  398. thought about this much is that the

  399. younger people often think about

  400. destiny. What am I destined to do? Am I

  401. destined to become a writer? Am I

  402. destined to become a doctor? Am I

  403. destined to become a plumber? Am I

  404. destined? But you know, it's interesting

  405. because when you talk about destiny,

  406. it's never plumber. It's never a

  407. mechanic.

  408. it's president of the United States,

  409. >> right?

  410. >> Because you just think that sort of

  411. thing, you know, you just think that

  412. sort of thing. That's because we do not

  413. understand the destiny of God, the

  414. purpose of God.

  415. >> As I said, God has purposed from the

  416. beginning. He his whole reason behind

  417. everything he does is to get you back.

  418. >> So good. How many of you are back?

  419. >> Yeah, I'm back. God, prodal son, the

  420. prodical daughter has returned home. I

  421. am born of the spirit. And those who are

  422. born of the spirit are led by the spirit

  423. of God.

  424. >> Right?

  425. >> And so as I thought about this as a

  426. young person and remembering back when I

  427. was 20, 25, 26 and on and I thought

  428. about how I was, yeah, what is God going

  429. to do? what is my destiny? And I kept

  430. trying to figure it out in my head. But

  431. who best to tell you your destiny and to

  432. take you on that journey to your destiny

  433. than the Holy Spirit,

  434. >> following the Holy Spirit. You see, you

  435. just don't realize. You have no idea

  436. that when you stop at that gas station,

  437. >> when you leave this place, that when you

  438. walk in there to get that whatever it is

  439. you go in to get, I'd say a candy bar,

  440. but I know you don't eat stuff like

  441. that. [laughter]

  442. When you walk in that gas station,

  443. >> that that was part of your destiny to

  444. see that person there and leave them a

  445. track or see that person and minister to

  446. them or

  447. Now, don't tell me this is unbelievable

  448. because I believe it. or you walked into

  449. that gas station and you took the glory

  450. of God in that place and you left a

  451. trail of the glory of God in that gas

  452. station so that somebody that walks in

  453. next goes, "Woo!" [cheering]

  454. >> Why am I thinking about what my mama

  455. told me 45 years ago about Jesus? That's

  456. weird.

  457. >> Why? because you left a trail of glory

  458. >> and then you go out and say, "Well, God

  459. can't use me." You know, I'm

  460. >> I don't have a destiny.

  461. >> You don't know nothing about your

  462. destiny in your head.

  463. >> So, good.

  464. >> You can only follow the Holy Spirit one

  465. step at a time. And I got here to tell

  466. you a lot of the time I'm following the

  467. Holy Spirit and don't even know it.

  468. >> It's not like I'm sitting around and

  469. going, "Woo! Yes, Lord." Okay. Yes,

  470. Lord.

  471. >> I'll do that. Yes, Lord. I'll do that.

  472. Somebody said, "Well, I've been praying

  473. because I need a job." and the job a job

  474. opened up but it's not one I want. Well,

  475. do you need money?

  476. [laughter]

  477. >> Then unless God tells you no, take the

  478. job.

  479. >> That's right.

  480. >> Well, this is not what I want to do with

  481. my life.

  482. >> Since when does your ego have anything

  483. to do with God's plan for your life?

  484. Oh, Annette, shut up. YOU'RE GETTING ON

  485. PEOPLE'S TOES. [cheering]

  486. >> Getting on people's toes.

  487. >> So, the young people, you know, is where

  488. am I going? What am I going to do? Who

  489. am I going to marry? Will I have kids?

  490. But then we go through the generations

  491. and we get to the it's like, well, I'm

  492. 70 years old. God can't do anything with

  493. me. I'm done with my life. Oh,

  494. seriously?

  495. >> Come on. Come on now. That's good stuff.

  496. >> Come on.

  497. >> How do you know that you shy person that

  498. you are afraid to talk to anybody that

  499. one day you run into somebody in Walmart

  500. >> and somehow

  501. amazingly the spirit of God comes on you

  502. >> and you talk to that young man.

  503. >> Yeah. Come on.

  504. >> Thank you, Jesus.

  505. >> It's happened to me. and you talk to

  506. that young man and you give him the way

  507. to salvation either by giving him a

  508. track or you speak to him about his soul

  509. and you go, "Lord, I can't even believe

  510. I did that. That's not me."

  511. >> But you do it

  512. >> and that young man turns out to be

  513. another Billy Graham.

  514. >> Come on now.

  515. >> And you say,

  516. >> "No, God can't use me. I'm 80 years old.

  517. >> You trying to do it in your head. Get

  518. out of your head and get in your spirit.

  519. [applause and cheering]

  520. >> The destiny of God rest upon every one

  521. of you. The destiny of God rests upon

  522. every person born into this world.

  523. >> But it's those that choose

  524. >> choose that destiny.

  525. >> Those that choose that destiny.

  526. I uh I've been watching they came out

  527. with a new thing on uh John F. Kennedy

  528. >> several hour series and I watched it

  529. because I was very interested in it. And

  530. I knew these things but I didn't know

  531. the extent of these things. I'll put it

  532. that way. But I had no idea that this

  533. young man was so sick. Half the time

  534. they didn't expect him to live. He was

  535. in pain most of his entire life.

  536. He was in such severe pain when he was

  537. running his his campaigns

  538. that he had he could hardly walk. And

  539. yet he'd walk up flight after flight of

  540. stairs to go knock on somebody's door

  541. and talk to him about voting for him.

  542. >> And he was running for office. I think

  543. it was Senate at that point.

  544. You say, "Well, I can't." He could have

  545. sat there as well. I I can't because I

  546. have health problems.

  547. >> I have health problems and and I can't

  548. do that sort of thing. So, I'm just

  549. destined to end up in a wheelchair. I'm

  550. destined to not accomplish anything. I'm

  551. destined because my circumstances

  552. are not allowing me to complete my

  553. destiny. So, I'm just destined to do

  554. something else. Come on. Come on now.

  555. >> But there was something on the inside of

  556. him.

  557. >> Yes.

  558. >> That rose above every

  559. >> obstacle, every pain, every diagnosis

  560. >> that drove him.

  561. >> Yeah.

  562. >> Because he knew

  563. that's where he wanted to be and that's

  564. where he was going. And he made up his

  565. mind. And I thought about that.

  566. Here is this man in such pain and he had

  567. a lot of problems. Okay, I don't you

  568. know that's not the point. The point is

  569. this is that he was so consumed with his

  570. destiny and purpose in life that he

  571. wasn't going to let his body falling

  572. apart stop him.

  573. >> And he didn't know about healing. He

  574. didn't know about any of this stuff. And

  575. I thought, God, what about us?

  576. >> I thought about myself. You know,

  577. sometimes it's like, well, you know, and

  578. God has hadn't talked to me about rest

  579. as well as somebody else. He's talking

  580. about rest. [laughter] Not pointing at

  581. anybody, but

  582. God's hadn't talked to me about rest,

  583. but there's been times it's like, well,

  584. God, I Yeah, I'm just kind of tired. I'd

  585. like to chill out. You know,

  586. I'm sure nobody in here ever felt that

  587. way. Hey, I'd like to just chill out.

  588. There came a time when I thought, well,

  589. you know, I've done a lot of things in

  590. the ministry. I kept my dad's ministry

  591. going. I've done all this, that, and the

  592. other. And so, I'm just going to sit

  593. back and I'm going to take it easy and

  594. just sort of, you know, not retire, but

  595. just chill out and and just let somebody

  596. let some of these younger folks take it.

  597. >> Like Elijah's sitting here. He's going

  598. to speak tomorrow. Just let me sit back

  599. and let Elijah take it.

  600. >> Well, that worked for about a month.

  601. Yeah. [clears throat]

  602. >> And then here I was back.

  603. >> Yeah.

  604. >> But it took me that many years.

  605. [laughter]

  606. It took me that many years to fully

  607. yield myself to the purpose of God, to

  608. the destiny of God, to what God had for

  609. my life.

  610. >> And I didn't start out knowing where I

  611. was going. If you told me where I was

  612. going to be doing the things I'm doing

  613. today, I would have That's not what's

  614. going to happen.

  615. >> But it all happens because of the Holy

  616. Spirit in us taking one step at a time.

  617. >> One step. You don't know exactly where

  618. you're going, but I feel like I'm

  619. supposed to do this.

  620. >> I feel like I'm supposed to take a job

  621. at Costco. It's the only thing

  622. available. Take it.

  623. Some people are sitting around just

  624. waiting for God to give them the message

  625. about taking a job at Costco when that's

  626. the place that's open. That's the place

  627. that'll pay their bills.

  628. >> That doesn't mean you're called to do

  629. that forever.

  630. >> Boy, I just keep getting on people's

  631. toes and stuff like that. Let's go back

  632. to the Bible and I'll hide behind the

  633. podium here a minute. All right.

  634. [laughter]

  635. >> Right.

  636. >> Eye is not seen. ear is not heard,

  637. neither has entered into the heart of

  638. man the things God has prepared in

  639. readiness for them that love him. For to

  640. us God has revealed them through the

  641. Spirit. For the Spirit searches

  642. everything, including the deeps of God.

  643. For who among men knows a man's thoughts

  644. except a man's own spirit within him? In

  645. the same way, only God's spirit is

  646. acquainted with God's thoughts. But we

  647. have not received the spirit of the

  648. world, but the spirit which comes

  649. >> from God,

  650. >> that we may know,

  651. >> hallelujah,

  652. >> what is freely

  653. >> given us by God.

  654. >> And this we also utter, not in language

  655. which man's wisdom teaches, but that

  656. which the spirit

  657. teaches. Amen.

  658. >> We could just stop right there.

  659. It says, "Adapting spiritual words to

  660. spiritual truths. The unspiritual man

  661. rejects the teachings of the spirit of

  662. God. They are folly to him." Why?

  663. Because it doesn't register up here.

  664. >> That doesn't make any sense. I'm not

  665. giving my life to God because he'll make

  666. me go shout hallelujah and be one of

  667. those holy rollers.

  668. >> I'm not going to do that. And you have

  669. no idea, no idea that that's what you've

  670. been looking for all this time

  671. >> because it's of the spirit.

  672. >> The unspiritual man rejects the

  673. teachings of the spirit of God. To him

  674. they are folly. He cannot learn them

  675. because they are spiritually appraised.

  676. But the spiritual man appraises

  677. everything although he himself is

  678. appraised of none.

  679. So

  680. the misconceptions about destiny is that

  681. there is a plan

  682. like a blueprint

  683. that God sets out.

  684. >> And you ever looked at the blueprints?

  685. Okay, there's a foundation here. We've

  686. got to put rebar in it. It's got to be

  687. 18 inches deep. It's got to be this.

  688. It's got to be that. And then we start

  689. putting the studs up. And then we put

  690. nails in there so many places. And so

  691. God's plan is like this. It's like that

  692. blueprint. And if you leave out a nail

  693. >> Yeah.

  694. >> or miss hammering that stud in the right

  695. place and the whole house falls and

  696. you're you're done because you made a

  697. mistake. You missed it.

  698. >> I'm just letting it set in. Yeah.

  699. >> Yeah.

  700. >> There's been times that I thought, God,

  701. if I hadn't messed up, you've been able

  702. to do something with me.

  703. And he said, move on.

  704. >> Move on.

  705. >> If you don't think God's big enough and

  706. smart enough [laughter]

  707. >> and wise enough to know that, you're not

  708. going to walk by that blueprint.

  709. See, we're missing the whole thing. We

  710. think that it's this, this, this, and so

  711. I missed it here. So now I've missed the

  712. perfect will of God for my life because

  713. this happened.

  714. >> That's not how it works.

  715. >> That's not how it works. Because see,

  716. there is an o you've got to have the

  717. first before you find your destiny,

  718. you've got to find first of all what God

  719. destined you for. Amen.

  720. >> All right, let's just take a look at it

  721. real quick and then I'm going to come

  722. back.

  723. All right, Ephesians 5 1 and5 says that

  724. we are predestined. Oh, there's that

  725. word predestined. I don't believe in

  726. predestination.

  727. Well, the church has sort of wrestled

  728. with that idea for centuries and we've

  729. sort of moved past that. So, let's just

  730. talk about this. What does the Bible say

  731. we're predestined for? Because that word

  732. is there. Predestined, predetermined.

  733. It's there.

  734. >> So what are we predestined for?

  735. We are predestined for adoption as his

  736. child.

  737. >> Ephesians 15. Ephesians 11. Because we

  738. are his child. Ephesians 1 11

  739. says that we are predestined to obtain

  740. an inheritance from him.

  741. >> You still with me?

  742. >> Amen.

  743. And then it goes on, and we are

  744. predestined to receive his Holy Spirit.

  745. >> And then in Romans 8:29, it says, "We

    Romans 8:29

  746. are predestined to be conformed to the

  747. image of his son."

  748. >> That's right.

  749. >> So, we are predestined

  750. to become a child of the living God, be

  751. filled with his Holy Spirit, and grow up

  752. into him

  753. >> and become a mature person. Yeah,

  754. >> that's what we're predestined for. I did

  755. not read anything in there about

  756. marrying John so and so or such and such

  757. or

  758. >> we're pre certain people are predestined

  759. to die at a certain age. I didn't that's

  760. not in there.

  761. >> You got to understand the

  762. predestination.

  763. Once you come into Christ, you're in the

  764. family and you are predestined to be in

  765. that family and all that the rights all

  766. the rights of being in that family.

  767. >> So that's the first thing you need to

  768. understand about destiny.

  769. >> And then you need to understand the

  770. purpose of God.

  771. >> And the purpose of God is just this.

  772. And I'm going to talk about us right

  773. now. You and I

  774. here in this period of time, we are

  775. living between the first coming of the

  776. Messiah

  777. and the second coming of the Messiah.

  778. >> There's been almost 2,000 years between

  779. those events.

  780. >> Approximately 2,000 years.

  781. And where are we at this period of time?

  782. You know, Paul was back here. This was

  783. the first coming. Paul was here.

  784. And then we're over here near the coming

  785. in of the new age, the second coming of

  786. Christ. And if you can see my thumb,

  787. we're right here.

  788. >> We're just butting up against it right

  789. there.

  790. >> This where we are.

  791. >> See, you may say, "Well, I don't have a

  792. destiny. I don't have a this or that."

  793. Oh, but you do. You and I have been born

  794. into such a time as this.

  795. >> But what we don't understand about our

  796. and I'm going to talk about a minute

  797. about the destiny of the church.

  798. >> You and I have been born over here at

  799. this time. There were people that were

  800. born here right before the first coming

  801. of the Messiah. The prophet looked for

  802. the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  803. Many looked for the coming of the

  804. Messiah.

  805. And then the word of God said something

  806. very interesting.

  807. It said, "I send my messenger before my

  808. fa face to prepare the way for the

  809. Messiah, the coming of the Messiah." And

  810. guess who that was? John the Baptist,

  811. right?

  812. >> He was the messenger.

  813. And so why was it important for John the

  814. Baptist to be born?

  815. >> Prepare the way.

  816. >> Jesus had to have someone prepare the

  817. way and get people ready. And what did

  818. John do?

  819. Get ready. Get ready. Get ready. Get

  820. ready. The Messiah is coming. No. John

  821. the Baptist said, "Repent."

  822. >> Yeah.

  823. >> Get your life right.

  824. You don't want to be in this shape when

  825. the Messiah comes,

  826. >> right?

  827. >> And you know what? The Messiah had

  828. already been born.

  829. >> Isn't that interesting? The destiny, so

  830. to speak, of John the Baptist and the

  831. destiny of the Lord Jesus Christ

  832. >> and the importance of John the Baptist

  833. preparing the way. What does that mean?

  834. Well, in the old days, let's Well, I

  835. tell you what, I'm going to jump here

  836. because I don't want to miss this. This

  837. is so good. Let's go to um

  838. Isaiah

    Isaiah 40 chapter mention

  839. chapter 40 really quick because this

  840. this is what we're getting to what the

  841. Lord

  842. wants you to know.

  843. Let's see.

  844. Yes.

  845. Isaiah 40. I'm reading out of the uh BSB

  846. version. Listen to what this says.

  847. Isaiah 40:3, a voice of one calling.

    Isaiah 40:3

  848. Now, I look up here and it says, one of

  849. the versions says, "A voice cries in the

  850. wilderness." Okay? A voice of one

  851. calling. Prepare the way for the Lord in

  852. the wilderness. Make a straight highway

  853. for our God in the desert. Every valley

  854. shall be lifted up. Every mountain and

  855. hill made low and uneven ground will

  856. become smooth and the rugged land a

  857. plain.

  858. So everything's going to be raised up,

  859. brought down and a straight path made.

  860. Right

  861. >> now this was a messianic prophecy about

  862. the Messiah.

  863. It was listen to this. John the Baptist

  864. was a key in ushering out the old

  865. covenant, the old age, and ushering in

  866. the new age.

  867. >> And new age,

  868. >> somebody stole that

  869. >> new age,

  870. >> the age of the church, the age of grace.

  871. John was a key

  872. of preparing the way of the Lord for the

  873. new

  874. dispensation,

  875. the new era, the age that was to come

  876. from their perspective.

  877. >> So John the Baptist was a key. Now what

  878. happened in those days is that when a

  879. king was going to come to visit a city,

  880. they sent people out before the king to

  881. knock out the rocks out of the road,

  882. take out the bumps, even pave roads. Can

  883. you imagine? The king is coming. It's

  884. going to take us 10 years to get him

  885. here, but we're going to clean

  886. everything out, right? And so this is

  887. what it's talking about. The way is made

  888. clear for the Messiah when he came

  889. because John got people to repent so

  890. they were ready to receive the message

  891. >> from Jesus.

  892. >> Amen.

  893. >> And actually there was one spot there

  894. where um the religious leaders came and

  895. they came to check it out and maybe to

  896. be baptized. And he said, "Who

  897. you," he called them snakes,

  898. you group of vipers and snakes, who

  899. warned you about the wrath to come

  900. >> because that was the condition of the

  901. religion at that point in time. So here

  902. we have the prophecy of the first coming

  903. of the Messiah and John the Baptist is

  904. the one that paved the way so to speak

  905. for Jesus

  906. to come and minister to the people. But

  907. this has a second thing and this is the

  908. word of the Lord to you today and to the

  909. church of the Lord Jesus Christ. And

  910. that is that we the church are the ones

  911. that are paving the way for the second

  912. coming of the Lord and for the reign of

  913. the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

  914. We are the ones paving and segging in

  915. from the age of the church into the

  916. rapture, the tribulation. And that's

  917. only seven years

  918. >> and into the millennial age

  919. >> where Jesus will reign on this earth,

  920. the second coming of Christ. It is our

  921. responsibility to number one get

  922. ourselves ready.

  923. Number two, go out to the harvest,

  924. >> right?

  925. >> That's our responsibility. But here's

  926. here's the clincher because we keep

  927. talking about the glory of God.

  928. You ready?

  929. >> All right. Every valid valley shall be

  930. lifted up. Every mountain and hill made

  931. low, and uneven ground will become

  932. smooth, and the rugged land a plain. And

  933. once the way is prepared and the ground

  934. is level and the path is cleared, the

  935. glory of the Lord will be revealed

  936. >> and all humanity together will see it.

  937. >> Why? For the mouth of the Lord has

  938. spoken. Amen.

  939. >> So here is the prophetic message in

  940. this. Pray for John. John the Baptist

  941. came and prepared the way for Jesus.

  942. You got a destiny as a child of God to

  943. prepare the way for the second coming of

  944. Jesus.

  945. >> And let's just put it in perspective

  946. here.

  947. It's up to us individually to get before

  948. God and say, "God, I've been focused on

  949. this. I've been focused on that. Been

  950. focused on the other. Focus me

  951. on your

  952. destiny for the church of the Lord Jesus

  953. Christ." Everybody say, "I am the

  954. church."

  955. >> I am the church.

  956. >> I am the body of Christ.

  957. >> I am the body of Christ. It is up to us

  958. >> to prepare the way

  959. >> the way

  960. >> for this coming.

  961. >> It's a it's just it. That's what that's

  962. what the word. And if you want to see

  963. the glory and we want to experience the

  964. glory of the Lord is and we got to

  965. remove the mountains, raise the valleys

  966. up, pave the way. And you go, "Well,

  967. what does that mean?" Well, you're not

  968. going to understand it here, but you

  969. understand it in your spirit.

  970. in your spirit. Something's something's

  971. stirring.

  972. >> You're going to understand it in your

  973. spirit.

  974. >> And you are going to hear the voice of

  975. the spirit of God. Because here's what

  976. God said everywhere. Everywhere you go,

  977. I want you to talk about the guidance of

  978. the Holy Spirit. And I'm talking right

  979. now about

  980. >> following the Holy Spirit to your divine

  981. destiny.

  982. Quit thinking in terms of mind and ego

  983. of my divine destiny to to be a

  984. millionaire to run a company to do this

  985. and God may do that with you and that's

  986. fine but your ultimate divine destiny is

  987. to usher in for this generation

  988. >> good

  989. >> those of us who are alive right now

  990. >> to usher in the coming

  991. >> of the Lord Jesus Christ

  992. >> that is our divine destiny.

  993. >> Let's get the let's get God's view.

  994. >> Let's get thinking about on our our

  995. about well, what's God's plan for my

  996. life? I don't know what God's plan for

  997. my life is, what his purpose is. I don't

  998. know.

  999. Let's get our mind off that. You got an

  1000. internal guidance system,

1001. >> the Holy Spirit, a divine GPS.

1002. that all you got to do is set it on the

  1003. right thing.

1004. >> If you if you want to go to Little Rock,

1005. Arkansas, you don't set it for Dallas,

  1006. Texas.

1007. >> But if you set it on Little Rock,

1008. Arkansas, being a pilot, I've used GPS

1009. for that kind of stuff for years. All

1010. right? And it was just a piece of cake,

1011. man. Once you could do that, you just

1012. set it in there and you just make sure

1013. your airplane stays on that line.

1014. And it's the same thing with your car.

1015. Just make sure you do go where it tells

1016. you to go if it's working right.

1017. I got news for you. The Holy Spirit

  1018. always works right.

1019. >> The Holy Spirit, your internal GPS.

1020. >> If you got it set on

1021. other stuff, I don't even want to go

1022. into it. other stuff of what your

  1023. destiny is.

  1024. Then you're going to

1025. >> you may go around this way

1026. and you may go around again and you may

1027. go around and some of you feel like

1028. you're stuck right here. You just keep

1029. going round and round and round and

1030. round. Then you try to get out and then

1031. you come end up right back at the same

  1032. place.

1033. >> You need to reset your GPS.

1034. >> Reset. I'm going to put all this aside.

  1035. And I'm setting

1036. my divine destiny and destination

1037. >> on the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ

1038. >> and the next age to come, which is the

1039. millennium. And for those of you that

1040. think you're going to go in the rapture

1041. and stay in heaven for all eternity, I

1042. got news for you. We're coming back

  1043. here. Yeah,

  1044. >> don't get me on that. That's enough.

  1045. That's enough. That's the message for

1046. the church today. And I say the church,

1047. everybody that hears this online,

  1048. wherever they hear it,

1049. >> this is the message, church. We are John

1050. the Baptist in the way.

1051. >> We are the one who prepares the way.

1052. >> So, let's get busy preparing. But the

1053. first step is to get our GPS set on the

1054. right thing. All right, let's all stand

  1055. up.

1056. >> Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus.

  1057. >> You know,

  1058. [laughter]

1059. [snorts] I have a tendency just to tell

1060. the truth and tell it like it is and

  1061. just

  1062. spit it out there.

1063. >> I can preach this message to you today

1064. and I can pray for you and I can lay my

1065. hands on your head till I wear every

1066. every hair off your head.

  1067. >> But I can't set that destiny and

  1068. destination for you.

1069. >> You've got to make up your mind. I am

  1070. going with God.

1071. >> I'm gonna focus on the things of the

1072. spirit and the things of God. And oh

1073. yeah, you know, don't look at me and

1074. think that all I do is sit around go,

1075. "Oh yes, God." I mean, I have to deal

1076. with insurance. I have to deal with

1077. cars being broken down. I have to deal

1078. with all the stuff you do. That's right.

  1079. >> But my

1080. my GPS, my destination, and my destiny

1081. is set. And I say it all the time. I say

  1082. it.

  1083. >> Yes.

  1084. All the time.

  1085. I say, I will complete what God's called

  1086. me to do. [music]

  1087. >> You say, "Yeah, but you're a minister."

  1088. Well, you're a human.

1089. I will live out the full span of my life

  1090. and health

  1091. >> and I will accomplish

1092. >> the full purpose, plan, whatever you

1093. want to call it, destiny

1094. and I will reach my destination. And

1095. that's what Paul said, you know, I

  1096. fought the good fight.

  1097. >> I've run the course. I crossed the

1098. finish line. I'm going on

  1099. >> fine.

  1100. That's good.

1101. But a lot of you have said that I've hit

1102. the finish line and I'm going on and you

  1103. ain't done.

  1104. >> That's good.

1105. >> The Bible recognizes gray hair is a sign

1106. of wisdom. Longevity is not a bad thing.

  1107. It's a good thing.

1108. >> It's like my dad told somebody one time,

  1109. they said, "Well, I don't know. I just

1110. keep having these birthdays and getting

  1111. older."

1112. My dad said, "Well, there's only one way

  1113. out of that.

  1114. [laughter]

1115. >> If you die, you won't have any more

  1116. birthdays."

1117. But none of us want that.

  1118. >> In reality,

1119. we need to set fixed purpose.

1120. >> Fixed purpose on our part,

1121. our part to play in this end time. And

1122. it's not all apostles, and it's not all

1123. prophets. And it's not all this stuff.

1124. It is all members of the body of Christ

1125. working together in that area that God's

  1126. called

  1127. >> you to.

  1128. >> So,

1129. I'm going to ask this right now. I'm

1130. going to ask you right now. How many of

1131. you are willing to do everything that

1132. God has called you calling you to do

1133. >> all the way to the I'm asking for a

1134. commitment today. I'm not asking for a

1135. commitment for this week, for this

1136. month, for this year. I'm asking for a

1137. commitment until you grow up in the

  1138. rapture

1139. >> or until you decide you've lived out

1140. enough years and it is time. I'm asking

1141. for a commitment until that day.

1142. If you're willing to do that, I want you

1143. to raise your right hand and I want you

1144. to say this. In the name of the Lord

1145. Jesus Christ. In the name of the Lord

  1146. Jesus Christ,

  1147. >> I commit myself

1148. >> spirit, soul, and body

  1149. >> to accomplish

1150. >> the will of God

1151. >> the will of God.

1152. >> The purpose of God

1153. >> the purpose of God

1154. >> the destiny of God

  1155. >> for my life

  1156. >> for my life.

  1157. >> I declare it.

1158. >> I declare I will live out the full span

  1159. of my life.

1160. >> I declare I will live out the full of my

  1161. life

  1162. >> in health.

1163. >> In health. None of my days will be

  1164. shortened.

1165. >> None of my days will be shortened.

1166. >> And I will finish my race.

  1167. >> And I will smile.

  1168. >> I will smile.

  1169. >> When I'm done.

  1170. >> Amen.

1171. >> Glory be to God.

  1172. [music]

1173. >> Glory be to God. Glory be to God. Glory

1174. be to God. All right.

1175. >> Hallelujah. What I said about sometimes

1176. you make mistakes. I was talking about

1177. that blueprint. You know, the nail goes

  1178. in the wrong place.

  1179. >> It's not built right. There's some of

1180. you here that been wrestling with all

1181. the stuff you did wrong.

1182. >> And some of you have done some things

1183. that you're really ashamed of. But you

1184. know what? God did everything he did cuz

  1185. he wants you back.

1186. >> He wants you back.

1187. >> And if you need forgiveness today, I

1188. want you to raise your hand right now.

  1189. All right.

1190. >> Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray

  1191. right now for divine

1192. forgiveness and the love of God to flow

1193. over every person here who has had

1194. that situation in their life. They've

1195. missed it. They've done wrong. Lord, I

1196. just ask in Jesus' name that you restore

1197. them to fellowship. Right now, I want

1198. everybody in here to say this. Thank

  1199. you, Lord.

  1200. >> Thank you, Lord.

  1201. >> I am forgiven.

  1202. >> I am healed.

  1203. >> I am restored to fellowship.

  1204. >> I restored to fellowship.

  1205. >> You've forgiven me.

  1206. >> And I am free.

  1207. >> And I am free

1208. >> to complete my destiny.

  1209. >> In Jesus name.

  1210. >> in Jesus name.

  1211. >> Amen.

1212. >> All right. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah.

1213. Glory to God. I believe we're done here.

  1214. >> Yeah.
