Genesis - Part 19 | Pastor Paul McGee

And as is out there on social media land, all right, it's

going to be the first Apostolic Church Mother's Day talk show,

Genesis chapter #7 And I'm going to, as have been my custom here

the past few weeks, I'm going to read a, a few verses and then

I'll like to be seated and I'll continue reading.

All right, if that's OK with you, or if you'd like, I'll let

you read and I'll set. Oh, it's OK Amen.

Genesis chapter #7 and verse #1 And the Lord said unto Noah,

Come down all thy house into the ark, for thee have I seen

righteous before me. And this generation.

And every clean beast thou shalt take to thee.

By sevens the male and his female, and of beast that are

not cling by two, the male and his female, of fowls also of the

air. By sevens in the male and the

female to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth for

yet seven days and I will cause it to rain upon the earth 40

days and 40 nights. And every living substance that

I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.

And Noah did according to all the Lord commanded him.

Amen. I'm going to talk to you

tonight. I forgot about my books laying

up here. I'm going to talk to you tonight

about I know this is quite this is this is quite a title.

Noah and the flood. Yeah, it's deep.

It gets deeper as we talk about it even also tonight, you know,

I like to read and such, right. And so I have some books that

I've read that I'm not going to read again.

They're not going to be a part of my library.

And so if anybody wants a book after service, any of these.

The body dynamic all in by by Mark Patterson, the Christian

atheist people who claim to be Christian but act like they

don't know God multiply, which is actually can actually

actually be used as a Bible study, although there are some

variants concerning the godhead and baptism in here.

All right, seven practices of an effective ministry.

All right, it's in here as well. This Be Our Guest is Disney's

book on all of their guest, what they call their guest ology,

their customer service. If you've ever been to Disney,

you understand exactly what I'm talking about.

If you never have this, this what makes Disney great in all

of its parks and everything that it does and amusements.

And then I told my leadership, I shared some stuff out of this

before my leadership, I thought my father was God.

It's basically a bunch of short stories.

National National Public Radio collected them and created a

book. So their individual stories that

cover a dynamic, several different type of categories.

If you're interested in any one of these, I'm going to charge

You can have it. Why, Brother McGee, would you do

that? Because I think it's important.

Amen. To try to foster reading.

Amen. That's just me.

OK, but try to foster reading. I want to always be learning.

Always be learning. Let's pray tonight.

Father, I come to you. I'm thankful, Lord Jesus, God,

for your presence and thankful Lord for the ability to be here

tonight. I pray, O Lord, that you're able

to touch each of us, our hearts and our minds afresh and anew by

the word of God. Let it stand, Lord, alive to us

and God be a light unto us. God will not fail to thank you

and praise you Lord, for what you have accomplished Lord, and

will accomplish. Lord, yet in this place this

evening and the lovely name of Jesus Christ that we pray in the

church, say Amen, Amen. You may be seated tonight in

Jesus name, Amen. So this was another one of those

weeks. I felt very adventurous and I

had done put my mind I'd get through chapter seven and eight

and that didn't happen. But let me continue with verse

number six. And Noah was 600 years old when

the flood of waters was upon the earth and Noah went in.

Now let me just preface, this is going to some of the things

we're going to go through here is going to sound very

redundant. And they should because they are

all right. And Noah was 600 years old when

the flood of the waters was upon the earth.

And Noah went in and his sons and his wife and his sons wives

with him into the ark. Because of the waters of the

flood of clean beasts and of beasts that are not clean in the

fouls, and of everything that creepeth upon the earth.

There went into and to unto Noah into the ark the male and the

female, as God had commanded Noah.

And it came to pass after seven days that the waters of the

flood were upon the earth in the 600th.

This is where it starts. You know, in this gives us a

little bit more detail to, to to verse six right here in verse 11

in the 600th year of Noah's life, in the second month, the

7th day, the 17th day of the month, the same day where all

the foundations of the deep broken up and the windows of

heaven were open and the rings upon the earth 40 days and 40

ninths. This is where we get into a

repeat. In the self same day Noah

entered. This entered Noah, and Shem, and

Hem, and Japheth, and the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and

the three wives of his sons with them into the ark.

They and every Here it is still, every beast after his kind, and

all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that

creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after

his kind, every bird of every sort.

And they went in unto Noah, and into the ark, two and two of all

flesh, wherein is the breath of life.

And they that went in, went in male and female, of all flesh,

as God had commanded, And the Lord shut him in.

And the flood was 40 days upon the earth, and the waters

increase and bear of the ark, and it was lifted up above the

earth. And so there's a little bit of

repeat going on there and just those first few verses, it seems

that's taking place, right? It's like first, there's a lot

of repeat if you look at it first God gives the commandment

of what should be done, and then it's carried, carried out what

God commanded. And then it's told us again,

there's carried out what God commanded.

And so it's like God tells us, and then Noah does it and then

it's written as though he does it again, or it's, it's repeated

again. And so Genesis 7 begins again

with the Lord talking to Noah to come or inviting him, giving him

an invitation, he and his family to come up on the ark.

And he also then gives him some additional instructions.

We'll look at here a little bit later, additional instructions

about the animals that are be to be brought up on the ark and how

many of those animals are to be brought up on the ark.

And then the Bible tells us that after they get on the ark or

within seven days, that the actual rain is going to begin.

And then we have again, as I said, the next section kind of

tells us Noah, it gives us the, the, the, the, the view or the

of Noah actually responding to God's invitation.

And he's been very obedient. He went on the ark.

He got his wife, his sons, their daughters, everybody up on the

ark. It states that that that after

seven days that the rain did indeed begin.

That's spoken of there. It tells us, as I said in verse

11, the exact month and the exact day of Noah's 600th year

when the flood began. And it tells us that the rain

lasted, that we all times know how long.

Look at you guys, Bible scholars, Amen. 40 days and 40

nights of the rain. And then it goes back into

repeating again. It tells us exactly right over

again about the people that went on the ark, all right, and how

they took the animals on the ark and Noah responded.

But then in verse 16, to shake it up just a little bit, it

tells us explicitly that it was God who shut the door to the

ark. But again, the 40 days is there.

In verses 13 through 17 are mentioned again with this idea

of increasing water. I don't know if I have time to

read all these, but if you go to Genesis 4 and I'll do one just

for the sake of it, so that you can see how repetitive Genesis 7

and verse four, for yet seven days, and I will cause it to

rain upon the earth 40 days and 40 nights in every living

substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of

the earth. Verse 10 And it came to pass

after seven days that the waters of the flood were upon the

earth. Verse 12 And the rain was upon

the earth 40 days and 40 nights. Verse 17 and the flood was 40

days upon the earth. And the waters increase and bear

up the ark, and it was lifted above the earth.

So you see, you see that that that repetition that is there

among them. You'll also see that we can even

back up into Genesis chapter #6 for some of the repetition

whenever he talking about two times the Lord tells Moses or

gives the invitation about getting on the ark.

One of those is found in Genesis 618.

The other one here is found in our text in Genesis Chapter 7

Genesis 7 · chapter mention

and verse #1 He tells him about it.

We see Noah S response and doing it twice in verse seven and

verse 13 of the chapter of our text.

We go back to Genesis chapter #6 and you can read about God

prescribing what animals should be brought on the ark.

That's in Genesis 619 through 20.

You read of that again him given the prescription in Genesis 7

two through 3. Then you see Noah and the

animals actually obey in it, all right?

In Genesis 7, verses 8 through 9 and 14 through 15, the animals

Genesis 7:8–9

are brought on the ark. So all of that is concerning

that all of these repetitions from Genesis 6, Genesis 7 and

and so on, so forth. And then the last part of

Genesis 7, but we're not going to get to tonight.

It's going to talk greatly about the waters that are increasing

and prevailing over all the earth and how basically the nut

the, the, the, the, the nutshell thought is this anything that

wasn't on the ark was dead or died.

All right. And the waters prevailed upon

the the earth for 150 days that the scripture says now.

So that's just kind of the layout.

I just want to get you a little layout of the land, right.

And if you ever thought that you had Deja vu one time reading

Genesis Chapter 7, you were all right because you had read, I

thought I already read that before.

It's like, you know, you did, where we talk about the flood

and we talk about this breaking out of rain and the breaking up

of the deep below. And we're talking about this

lasting rain lasting for 40 days and water upon the earth for

such a long time. All of this in some regards, in

some regards, and we'll look at that very quickly, but in some

regards, the flood is a deconstruction of creation.

The flood is uncreation. We had creation there in the

beginning, but the flood is uncreation.

It's almost to a certain degree. And we'll look at it, undoing of

what God had done all right by his own, by his own, you know,

decision. But think with me here for a

moment. Again in some regards we can't

go direct direct, but you'll see what I'm talking about whenever

you go back to the beginning of Genesis, the 6th day of Genesis,

what was created on the 6th day. Anybody remember man or the

Mason says man along with man was the the beast of the field

and the creeping things was on the 6th day that took place.

If you start looking at the flood and go, go, you're going

through it. You're just reading it

literally, but it's almost a backward progression of

creation. One of the first things that

happened is Noah and his family. Come on the ark, The way that

it's postured here in the scripture, along with the beast

of the field and the creeping things are the first things that

are listed as getting on the ark.

In essence, they are removed from the earth.

That was the last thing that came up on the earth in Creation

day #5 Anybody remember what happened?

Creation day #5 sea creatures, he says.

Absolutely. And the fowl of the air, sea

creatures in the fowl of the air came on day #5 Do you know in

our flood story who comes next on the ark in, in the

progression here, as it's written in Scripture, it is the

fowls of the air. Now, the sea creatures, nothing

happened to sea creatures. It was a flood, all right.

But the fowls of the air, that they are removed from the earth.

In a sense, you understand what I'm saying.

Day #4 anybody remember day #4 anybody looking at Genesis

chapter #1 day #4 we have the lesser and greater lights, the

luminaries. He made the stars also again,

this, this is nothing scriptural.

This is just me thinking along that path.

I don't I don't know if darkness covered the area that that

preface this rain that was coming.

None the less that that's again, that's just some of these things

in regards. But you will see it here.

Day #3 of creation. The dry land appeared, but as

the rain comes, it's wet #1 and it's going to disappear.

Deconstructed, uncreated day #2 The waters were divided from the

waters that were above to the waters that were below.

The Bible says concerning this rain that came that all the

fountains of the great deep broke up and the windows of

heaven opened. There's an intermingling of the

waters from above and below, deconstructed, uncreated, Amen

takes place. There's an intermingling.

Let there be light. I don't have anything for you.

Again, it's not perfect, all right, but we see the episodes

of this that takes place. And so that said, the reversal

of the flood later, when we read in Genesis, eight of them coming

off the ark and what happens as far with the water starting to

abate, it's almost following the same line of creation from the

beginning, which means a new creation.

We had Adam to begin with, but now we have Noah and his family,

the starters of a family of a new creation.

After at that point in time, all the others have been destroyed,

all of the other animals, all the other, but they come back

upon the earth in succession. It is a new creation and they

are given Noah and the beast of the field.

All of these are given them the same command that Adam and Eve

were given all right, whenever they were created.

And you can find that in Genesis 817 when the words were be

fruitful and multiply. Are there one more time.

And so I know and and and and we sometimes and I say we the

greater society and we'll talk about some of those things

always want to get into the scientific minutiae of Genesis.

But the big picture is God uncreated what he had created to

create. Again, the big picture is that

Amen. And so everything that God

desired for Noah and his family was towed to Noah really to an

audience of one. We never see him necessarily

given a collective statement to the family, but he speaks to

Noah particularly. And from that command, Noah then

would make the ark or Noah then would make sure that these types

of animals and these number of those types of animals would be

brought up on the ark according to God's invitation or according

to God's command. Amen.

So God's would speak to Noah and then it was his responsibility,

and evidently he did, it was his responsibility to convey that to

his family. God would speak to him

concerning all the the different details and then he would convey

that to his family. Noah did more.

Might I say tonight, though, Noah did more than tell them his

behavior. His behavioral response showed

them that he believed it. Huh.

So then, more than just what he said, what he did inspired their

faith. He's the husband of his wife.

He's the father of his children. And it's not do as I say and not

as I do, huh? It's not this is what the Bible

says, wife. This is what the Bible says,

kids. No, no, no.

It was more than something he said to them.

It was something he lived before them.

He men. And I know we have this great

ability that God can speak to any of us, but if I can just

segue to the aspect of him being the head of his home, huh?

That this this is more than something we tout to our family.

It's something that we have a behavioral response to.

We're we're, we're, we're trying to paddle a boat up, up, up

upstream. If we are telling them one thing

but doing quite something different in our response, that

our response seems to betray our words, that our response is

saying, I really don't believe what that Bible says.

I really don't believe the commandments that are written in

there. I really don't believe the

precepts of the doctrine are there.

Well, why you say that? I, I've read that to you.

Yeah, but you've not followed through on them.

Amen. So it's his responsibility to

convey this and. And it's evident.

How was it every plank that he was laying on that ship was

evidence that he believed it to be so.

And so we, we, of course, in the process, and we don't know for a

fact, but we assume, we presume that that Noah's sons helped him

build the ark. I mean, I guess Noah could have

employed some other laborers of mankind.

I don't know how how much they would have, really.

They might have worked for him for a price and still not

believe what they were working on.

People do it all the time today. Yeah.

No, never mind. But we presume that Noah and his

family are the ones that are working upon this.

And knowing his family, here they are.

They survived the turbulent times of the flood in a boat

that God designed. Noah didn't design it, God did.

But God told him the blueprints and the specifications, and he

did it, and then he got in it. And at the end of the story, the

ship makes it and Noah's family makes it #1 primarily because

they made it, just like God said to make it.

But #2 because a father's faith went beyond mere words and acted

upon his beliefs. That's the reason why it was

there. And so all of that kind of ties

back to the golden verse of last week, the very last verse of

chapter #6 when it sums it all up and says, thus didn't Noah

according to all that God commanded him, So did he.

And our little good boy Noah doesn't stop there in Genesis 6

and the last verse, it continues on in chapter #7 of Noah doing

all that God commands him. The pattern continues after Noah

is invited or and God rather invites Noah on the ark and he

makes those additional instructions about the clean and

that which isn't clean and how many numbers are to be.

The Bible says this Amen in verse number, verse #5 I believe

it is the Bible says and know what did according unto all that

the Lord commanded him. You read in verse number six a

phrase in that verse that says as God commanded Noah in verse

#16 it says as God commanded him.

And so this, this is a a fingerprint of Noah's life doing

what God commanded. This, this, this isn't a A1 time

one off happening for Noah. This is a lifestyle for Noah.

Noah does what God commands. Noah does what God asks.

Noah obeys. He exercises his faith.

His faith creates an obedience inside of him to follow through.

Amen. Upon what he believes the Lord

is doing and saying is true. And so that leaves us then in

verse #1 God spoke to Noah then very particularly and tells him

plainly for thee, for Noah, have I seen, have I seen your

basically your righteousness for thee?

Have I seen righteousness before me in this generation?

And you know I seen it. No, God did not say Noah, I, I

heard your righteousness. No, no.

And say I, I, I heard your righteousness in your

generation. No, he said I saw your

righteousness. See the righteousness that I

picked up on? And here we go again.

The righteousness that I picked up on Noah isn't in what?

In your well prepared speech. It was in your better prepared

life, huh? There was activity that was

involved in your life. And again, this, this

corresponds and this goes hand in glove with things that we

know from other New Testament scriptures that we've looked on.

And yes, I'll hit the nail again when it lines with scripture

when it says that faith without is uh huh.

So therefore, our actions in response to faith are not just

optional, huh? Our actions in response to faith

are not optional. They're essential.

They are what demonstrate our faith in the world.

Amen. Now, now, Noah's faith, we know

he had faith by Noah. He prepared to ark to the save

in his family. Hebrews 11 tells us and we said

last week that Noah's faith was accounted unto him for

righteousness just as the book of Galatians talks how Abraham's

faith was accounted unto him for righteousness.

And so the Lord saw he saw Noah's righteousness, right and

that was accounted to him because of his faith and his

response and obedience to that faith.

So the Lord is saying through and what you are doing right

that the getting to the go the Gopher and for wood, you know,

and the fixing these things together and the pitching within

without I see, I see I have seen your righteousness.

Now look, the Bible says there's none righteous.

No, not one. It says our righteousness is

filthy rags right. We understand any righteousness

we have is that that is totally given to us or bestowed upon us

by God and Scripture bears that out of place.

He said he accounted right. So it's like you have faith.

I'm going to take that. I'm going to, I'm going to twist

this around like, and I'm going to make that righteousness for

you. It's not your righteousness.

It was accounted to us by God. All right, but look at the

benefit. One of the benefits, and this is

recording Isaiah 54, one of the benefits of righteousness,

Isaiah 54 and verse 14. The Scripture says in

righteousness shalt thou be established.

Thou shalt be far from oppression, for thou shalt not

fear, and from terror, for it shall not come near thee.

Look what happened. Noah's faith engendered

righteousness, which in turn established him.

How he built the ark, pitched it within without meant to the

details as much as possible, got on it.

And guess what? As a result, the rising

floodwaters, he was riding on them.

Bible says that the ship was even lifted up above the earth.

All right, They, they, they were near him, but he was safe from

the terror and the oppression of them, unlike other men, mankind

who didn't have faith in the ark.

But that faith that he had that was appointed to him as

righteousness established him, kept oppression and terror from

him. And so God gets a little bit

more detailed in verses 2:00 and 3:00.

And you're probably feeling like we're never going to get through

this because but listen, I'm sandwich and stuff together here

in a bit, All right, He gets a little bit more detail of how

many of what animals should be brought on the ark, right?

So it was spoken of before that to the male and the female of

every sort of living thing, it should be brought on the ark.

But now we have this specification or further detail,

that of the clean beast there's to be 7 pairs, and of that that

isn't clean, the pair of fowls there is to be 7 pairs of fowl

that must be brought as well. So if we were to throw up a good

old childhood storybook of knowing the Ark, it it's wrong

because there's some clean beasts that they have going in

there that's just going in as a pair and not 7 pairs to say all

right. And so, and there's some there's

some vowels that are, you know, flying with it and it's mate and

that's it. But nonetheless, here's my

statement. Just follow me here.

For anyone who believes that the details of God's instructions

don't matter. Be glad that you were not

responsible for making sure the animals got on the ark.

Now, once we get in the book of Leviticus, maybe we'll do a

series on Leviticus. One of these days whores fill in

the minds of people and we'll sandwich it with the book of

Hebrews. Once you get to the book of

Leviticus Chapter 11, that's where God begins to codify or

Leviticus 11 · chapter mention

putting the law, all these different things about unclean

and clean beasts, about hooves that are pardoned, those that

chew the cud, trying to give all these particulars, but that

isn't in place yet. But God spoke to Noah to take

the clean and those that were not clean.

Noah must have had some understanding already for God to

speak to him in such terms. He must have known the

difference. But here's the thing.

Why in the world, God, do you want these extra beasts and

foul? Why is this important?

Well, everybody doing OK? I know of causing you to think.

I'm sorry. I'm just so sorry.

Since Eden, man could only eat herbs and the fruit of trees.

We have that recorded that we've looked at before.

Genesis 1 verses 29 and 30 tells us that those things, herbs and

Genesis 1:29

the fruit of the trees would be meat for Adam and Eve.

So the extra animals at this time while they were on the ark

weren't food for them because herbs and fruit of the trees was

food at that moment in time. At least it wasn't food for them

for the present. Matter of fact, it's not until

after the flood that the Bible tells us in Genesis 9 and verse

#3 that now they can consume every moving thing that liveth.

So they went from what seemed to be purely more so a vegetarian

diet before the flood to after the flood.

Meat is introduced. Now, some people go and say,

well, that's the reason why they live so long to have vegetarian

diet. So there's all you need to do is

go back to eating lettuce and cabbage and stuff like that, and

you'll live 900 years. Well, it's not going to happen.

All right, go out tonight and take a fork with you and stab a

living cow in the pasture. OK.

Amen. But Genesis, sorry, you don't

have any cows, do you? OK, We won't be at your house.

Genesis 820 and Noah builded an altar.

This this is after the flood. They've come off the ark, all of

that. And Noah builded an altar unto

the Lord and took of every clean beast and every clean fowl and

offered burnt offerings on the altar.

Now first, let's recognize we have no record that God told

Noah to build an altar. It appears as though Noah felt

compelled alone by himself, without any instruction, to

build an altar and offer burnt offerings of clean beasts.

And thou, What are you saying? I'm saying this is a scenario of

numbers be an increase of clean beast and fowl and then they

being sacrificed on an altar later when we have no recorded

conversation between Noah and God about.

This is one of the cases where Isaiah speaks that he declares

the end from the beginning, from the ancient of times, the things

that are not yet done. Because before the first drop of

rain fell, God saw a burnt offering laid on an altar that

Noah would give for gratitude of having made it through what he

just made it through. Look, we have no recorded

conversation, but God through His instruction to Noah,

provides for the offerings he never demanded Noah even to make

before the flood. God told Noah, he said take

seven of each male and female, clean animals and fowls.

What are you doing? God?

God knows the propensity, He knows the inclination of Noah.

When he gets off this thing, he's going to want to worship.

When he gets off this thing, when this is all over, he's want

to going to want to return some thanks and gratitude.

He said I'll make provision now for what I see he's going to

want to do. Think if there was only one pair

if he put them on the altar for a birth sacrifice.

Noah just eliminated a kind Oops, sorry, there's no doves

for the future, but God, I love you glory.

He just eliminated a kind if it was some of the clean beasts of

a certain sort and he didn't have the seven, but only one

pair. He's eliminated the male or

female. There's no reproduction with

itself. He just eliminated a kind that

that that's assuming that there's no reproduction or or

any type of birth happening on the ark.

And God was clear in the Scripture that he wanted to

preserve of every sort and every kind.

He was clear concerning that. So Noah, I'm going to have you.

I'm going to instruct you to take more clean note.

Noah didn't ask why, because this is this is the mentality of

Noah. This is what we've learned from

Noah thus far. God says Noah doesn't have some

big conversation about why I need to know.

I'm not doing it unless you tell me.

Oh, God, that's, that's, that's, that's just the way that Noah

operates. And so he don't even ask any

questions. Why?

Because at first it was like the two pair, but now, God, you've

increased a clean beast to seven pair and you've increased foul.

I mean, I mean, some people like brother Reese over here because

he he admits all the time he's nosy.

He would want to know you're not going to change this to two.

You're not going to change this to a pair of the seven pair on

me. You're not be telling me.

I know how to use brooming them up and I'm not afraid to use a

guy. But no one doesn't ask why.

But it came full circle when he builds his altar and he's

putting sacrifice upon there. What are you saying?

I'm saying that Noah's meticulous obedience enriched

his altar. What do you mean by the I'm

saying the details do matter. There ain't no big deal.

Talk to Earth without doves or without such and such them.

Now I see we look at that. But let's bring this modern day

age. Let's bring it modern.

It don't matter. I know what the pastor preaches.

I know what the Word says, I know what God is asking, but it

don't that that that minute little detail matter really

don't matter. Do you want the day whenever the

ark is all said and done to be done and to find out then that

it mattered? Amen.

Glory, glory, glory. So our, our present preparations

folks, it, it has significant impact even for some of our, our

future spiritual aspects of our, our, our spiritual lives.

We, we listen, there's times you might not see the reason behind

God's particular instruction. Noah might not have, but he just

trusted the instructor. I don't know why God you're

increasing this, but I'm just going to trust you and I'm going

to make sure that they are on the ark because you know best

what we need. Amen.

Someone say Amen. All right, I got to go.

So this next little bit right here, this is probably going to

be more like scrambled eggs, OK? It's not, it's not like a

beautiful little boiled egg. It's not like a nice little egg

that's over medium. It's scrambled, OK.

What that means, I'm going to be jumping around a little bit.

So it's just a little bit more like scrambled eggs.

I'm still going to be in the flood story, OK, just in case

anybody's really getting right there.

But it's an egg. It's just scrambled.

We don't know why. We don't know why they were to

get on the Ark seven days before the rain started.

We don't. That was the instruction given

to them verse #4 that they would get on the Ark seven days before

the rain started. But we do know again, they did.

Verse 10 seems to indicate to us that they did in fact get on it.

And if nothing else, I see this, and this is just personal, but I

see this as a last gracious attempt of our God.

God told him in chapter 6. You remember He said my Spirit

will not always strive with your flesh.

They're one against the other. Even New Testament, my spirit

won't always strive for your flesh.

And he gave them 120 years, 120 years.

You can look back at it if you need to.

It's Genesis chapter #6 and verse #3.

Yet his day shall be 120 years. And as we looked at the

possibility, like 120 years till D-Day, 120 years till the

destruction of the world. If I see anything in the seven

days that you could on the ark, and then seven days later I'll

cause the rain to come, I almost just see another layer of grace

on God. I told you 120 years will be

destruction. How about 120 years?

And let me just give just about seven more days because that

portrays really the mentality of your God.

If anybody, and I, I say this, I say this gingerly, but if any of

us go to hell, it'll be because we trampled on God's grace to

get there. So this story, scrambled egg,

this story, we come up on this, this number 40, it's been

enlisted in, in the years of people's ages, but this is

really our first introduction into the, the number 40 and

verse #4 and we've often heard of this number 40.

Some people talked about it's the number of testing.

It's the number of trial that we see throughout Scripture.

However, it is also a number that prepares us for something

else. It's a number of preparation.

When we look at that in Scripture, for instance, we go

to the New Testament Scripture. Jesus before he started his

public ministry in the Gospels for that last three, 3 1/2 years

of his life, the Bible says that he went into the wilderness.

He was there for 40 days fasting, and he came from there

and started his public ministry That 40 years, those or those 40

days in the wilderness was prep for the public ministry of the

Lord Jesus Christ. We read about the spies the

first time that they go into the land of Canaan.

They spy out the land for how many days, 40 days?

And that was supposed to be for the preparation of them and the

nation of Israel going in and possessing it.

We know that didn't happen. There's a lack of faith, right?

Amen. Israel, though they prepped for

the promised land, the next generation, they were 40 not

days, but years in the wilderness, right?

And those of the older generation that were 20 years

old and older had to die off in those forty years.

So those 40 years was a preparation of getting rid of, I

know that's bored words, but getting rid of that old

generation so that they could enter into their promised land.

We also read the New Testament Scripture and this happens with

Jesus, but we also read the the the the principle of it in the

book of Leviticus. Amen.

That if a woman had a a male child, that she was to go 40

days of purification before she could go before the Lord with

dedication. That if she had a female child,

she had to wait 80 days or twice, two sets of 40 in order

to go before the Lord Amen after her purification and dedicate

her child. In our story, these are 40 days

and nights of rain that no doubt prepare and prep them and the

earth for that matter, for a new creation.

Someone say Amen, scrambled egg. All right, this is like essays

right here at the end. If you ever thought, and this is

probably not an if you ever I know you have, but I'll, I'll

couch it in terms like if you ever, if you ever thought God

went silent on you during your difficulty or when you've been

waiting for something. Welcome to the Noah club.

Welcome to the Noah club. It's a club of elite, I must

say. But God talked to Noah according

to what we have record. God talked to Noah before he got

on the ark. God talked to him whenever he

needed to get off the ark. But we have no record evidence

that God spoke to him during the storm or while he was waiting.

That's good. You're right.

Welcome to the Noah club. Can you imagine?

You got on 7 days early, mind you.

Rain 40 days, 40 nights, 150 days of drifting, 150 days of

the waters abating, 40 more days of the waters abating.

Raven is sent out, it goes to and fro.

A dove is sent out the same day comes back.

He waits seven days and sends the dove out again.

Dove comes back with all the branch in its mouth, waits seven

more days and sends the dove out again.

Then the dove goes, and then there's still more waiting until

he finally comes off the ark. Over a year of time of being on

the ark, stuff happening that from what we can gauge in

Scripture had never happened before.

Waiting. You know, God told him this is

going to be 40 days and 40 nights.

He did, He told him. But God, you didn't say anything

about that 150 days of the waters prevailing after the rain

stopped. You didn't say anything about

the 150 days for the waters to subside.

And I would have a few questions for God, but we have no

conversation going on, not during the storm, not during the

waiting. Welcome to Noah's club.

Welcome to Noah's club. He told me when to get on.

He tells me when to get off. It'd been nice to hear.

I have silence in between. But remember that the absence of

dialogue does not mean the absence of God.

Just because God isn't speaking to you in your storm doesn't

mean he's not there in your storm.

Just because He's not speaking to you whenever you're waiting

doesn't mean He's not sitting there with you as you're

waiting. Welcome to the Noah club.

Amen. Lastly, scrambled egg.

We're going to go get that cow. Verse 16 states again that the

Lord shut Noah in along with all the living things that were upon

the ark. Again, God didn't put Noah on

the ark. Noah dot on the ark.

He had the invitation of God, but his feet did The Walking.

We say all the time God is a gentleman.

He will not force and he won't, but he will pose the invitation

and it's up to us to accept. God didn't put Noah on the ark.

Noah dot on the ark and by doing so he was following the

invitation of the Lord. He was following the command of

the Lord, but whenever he got there, God did shut him along

with those other things up on the ark.

They entered there willfully by their obedience.

But God says, if you'll go there, I'll shut you in.

What does that mean to me? Because there's something about

God shutting you in on something that you might have some doubts

about. God shut you in.

There was a divine closure on the matter of the ark whenever

God shut the door. See, when God shuts us in, he's

effectively saying, if I could tonight, this, that's where you

need to be. There's no need to second guess

at Noah. There's no need to look back.

I've shut you in. This is where you should be at.

And so with that type of assurance from God, hopefully

that what that will do for me is that I'll stay committed to the

path without wavering. I have no record in Scripture or

any of Noah's family. Whenever things were topsy

turvy, they went up to the window of the ark and started

hanging their body halfway up, thinking, I'm getting off this

thing, I'm out of here. No, God shut the door.

They trusted that that's where they needed to be.

And eight souls went in the ark and eight souls came out of the

ark. Stay with me tonight.

Look at this, folks. You all should be so happy.

It's still green. I don't know what club that is,

but I don't know if it's Noah's club.

Get done early. What I know, what you know from

our Christian experience, is this, is that sometimes God is

very explicit with his instructions, and sometimes it

feels as though he's vague. But we must know in each whether

explicit or vague, that we can trust his character and his past

dealings with us. Amen.

No, it didn't have all the answers, nor did he see the

complete picture. He's not like us stepping out

here and he sees Genesis 6 through Chapter 9.

No, he doesn't see the complete picture, but he moves forward by

faith, inch by inch, day by day, timbered by timber, pitch by

pitch, trusting that each step, this is a God ordained step and

it's going to preserve me. It's going to preserve my

family. It's going to safeguard and

continue life here on earth if we'll just listen to the voice

of God. We bow our heads all across this

place tonight. I just ask you a few things or

maybe perhaps make a few statements to you tonight

concerning Noah and the flood and what we've talked about here

this evening. And that is this.

I ask you tonight to be bold with God.

Be bold and courageous with God. And ask God about areas of your

life where you're reluctant to obey him.

Ask God about areas of your life where you're reluctant to obey

him, kind of like God. The two going to seven.

Ask God about areas of your life where you're reluctant to obey

him, maybe in part because you don't understand him.

And ask yourself, will I trust? Will I trust even though I don't

understand because I know him or will I just totally abandoned

all because I don't understand what God's doing right now?

I challenge you tonight with this concerning knowing the

flood as what we spoken of here again tonight is this identify

other places in your life in Christian walk where you may be

rushing ahead or other ones where you may be holding back.

What are you saying? Timing again, timing is

absolutely important in these and what we talked about

tonight, details and timing. Seven days before the rain

comes, you want me on details and timing?

All these things are very valid and very important.

So ask yourself those questions tonight.

Can we lift our hands as our heads are bowed?

Can we just begin to talk to the Lord?

You can go on in this last prayer that we have together

here this evening, just to be bold with God and ask him, Lord,

Lord, what about those areas of my life, God?

Those areas of my life where I'm reluctant?

Those areas of my life, God, where, where?

Where I don't understand, but I hear the instruction, but I

don't understand. I pray, O Lord, today, help me

God, let my trust the Lord be resolute.

Let let my face faith God, be founded, Lord, upon the one that

has brought me thus far. Help me, Lord, to lean upon my

past experiences with God. Help me to lean upon the

characterization of that I know of my God.

I pray Lord, help me God not to get too far ahead or lag too far

behind. Help me God to be in step with

your will to be in step Lord, with your purpose to be in step

God with your plan. Lord, teach me O God, God, help

me to have a teachable spirit. Oh Lord, help me oh God, to be

able to endure the days when I don't hear the voice, endure the

storms God, when there is no dialogue taking place.

Let me not equal that to God is not present God.

I pray, oh Lord today help us to have an ear that is always open

Lord, and a light that is obedient Lord to the ways and

the precepts of the Lord God, I know you have our best

interests. I say it so many times, but you

have our best interests in mind, God, and we want to be proven as

faithful unto you. God, when we this thing's all

said and done and we come to the opposite side of the shore, so

to speak, and we come off this heart, we want Lord Jesus to be

found to be faithful and true. In the lovely name of the Lord

Jesus Christ that I pray Hallelujah and Amen.
