  1. Welcome to the First Apostolic Church podcast.

  2. Our church mission is to love as God loves showing compassion

  3. every soul, thus winning those souls and equipping them to be

  4. sent out to plant and to harvest.

  5. Thank you for joining us today, and we hope that you are blessed

  6. by today's podcast. Tonight, just a few things this

  7. coming weekend, Amen services on Sunday, Bishop will be

  8. ministering in the AM service where the Alex Mason will be

  9. ministering in the PM service. So you don't want to miss those

  10. things, Amen, that are coming up and it's going to be taking

  11. place. Also, just something else just

  12. to think about May the 7th, May the 7th will be a Mom's Night

  13. Out, ladies. All right, female night out,

  14. Amen. Anyway, ladies night out on that

  15. May the 7th that begins at 5:30 to be leaving from the church at

  16. 5:30. And so you can be a part Amen of

  17. that. So just be mindful of it.

  18. Amen. Headed toward the month of May.

  19. And also on May 12th, then is Mother's Day.

  20. And as is out there on social media land, all right, it's

  21. going to be the first Apostolic Church Mother's Day talk show,

  22. Amen. So you want to come be a part of

  23. that. Different than what we have done

  24. in any other year, but I think it would be proved to be

  25. beneficial, Amen, To those who would come and be of interest.

  26. And so come and be a part of that as well in the month of

  27. May. And there's other things going

  28. on as well that will be happening, taking place.

  29. But for now, I'll just leave it at that.

  30. Genesis chapter #7 And I'm going to, as have been my custom here

  31. the past few weeks, I'm going to read a, a few verses and then

  32. I'll like to be seated and I'll continue reading.

  33. All right, if that's OK with you, or if you'd like, I'll let

  34. you read and I'll set. Oh, it's OK Amen.

  35. Genesis chapter #7 and verse #1 And the Lord said unto Noah,

  36. Come down all thy house into the ark, for thee have I seen

  37. righteous before me. And this generation.

  38. And every clean beast thou shalt take to thee.

  39. By sevens the male and his female, and of beast that are

  40. not cling by two, the male and his female, of fowls also of the

  41. air. By sevens in the male and the

  42. female to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth for

  43. yet seven days and I will cause it to rain upon the earth 40

  44. days and 40 nights. And every living substance that

  45. I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.

  46. And Noah did according to all the Lord commanded him.

  47. Amen. I'm going to talk to you

  48. tonight. I forgot about my books laying

  49. up here. I'm going to talk to you tonight

  50. about I know this is quite this is this is quite a title.

  51. Noah and the flood. Yeah, it's deep.

  52. It gets deeper as we talk about it even also tonight, you know,

  53. I like to read and such, right. And so I have some books that

  54. I've read that I'm not going to read again.

  55. They're not going to be a part of my library.

  56. And so if anybody wants a book after service, any of these.

  57. The body dynamic all in by by Mark Patterson, the Christian

  58. atheist people who claim to be Christian but act like they

  59. don't know God multiply, which is actually can actually

  60. actually be used as a Bible study, although there are some

  61. variants concerning the godhead and baptism in here.

  62. All right, seven practices of an effective ministry.

  63. All right, it's in here as well. This Be Our Guest is Disney's

  64. book on all of their guest, what they call their guest ology,

  65. their customer service. If you've ever been to Disney,

  66. you understand exactly what I'm talking about.

  67. If you never have this, this what makes Disney great in all

  68. of its parks and everything that it does and amusements.

  69. And then I told my leadership, I shared some stuff out of this

  70. before my leadership, I thought my father was God.

  71. It's basically a bunch of short stories.

  72. National National Public Radio collected them and created a

  73. book. So their individual stories that

  74. cover a dynamic, several different type of categories.

  75. If you're interested in any one of these, I'm going to charge

  76. you $0.00, zero dollars. There's no money involved.

  77. You can have it. Why, Brother McGee, would you do

  78. that? Because I think it's important.

  79. Amen. To try to foster reading.

  80. Amen. That's just me.

  81. OK, but try to foster reading. I want to always be learning.

  82. Always be learning. Let's pray tonight.

  83. Father, I come to you. I'm thankful, Lord Jesus, God,

  84. for your presence and thankful Lord for the ability to be here

  85. tonight. I pray, O Lord, that you're able

  86. to touch each of us, our hearts and our minds afresh and anew by

  87. the word of God. Let it stand, Lord, alive to us

  88. and God be a light unto us. God will not fail to thank you

  89. and praise you Lord, for what you have accomplished Lord, and

  90. will accomplish. Lord, yet in this place this

  91. evening and the lovely name of Jesus Christ that we pray in the

  92. church, say Amen, Amen. You may be seated tonight in

  93. Jesus name, Amen. So this was another one of those

  94. weeks. I felt very adventurous and I

  95. had done put my mind I'd get through chapter seven and eight

  96. and that didn't happen. But let me continue with verse

  97. number six. And Noah was 600 years old when

  98. the flood of waters was upon the earth and Noah went in.

  99. Now let me just preface, this is going to some of the things

  100. we're going to go through here is going to sound very

  101. redundant. And they should because they are

  102. all right. And Noah was 600 years old when

  103. the flood of the waters was upon the earth.

  104. And Noah went in and his sons and his wife and his sons wives

  105. with him into the ark. Because of the waters of the

  106. flood of clean beasts and of beasts that are not clean in the

  107. fouls, and of everything that creepeth upon the earth.

  108. There went into and to unto Noah into the ark the male and the

  109. female, as God had commanded Noah.

  110. And it came to pass after seven days that the waters of the

  111. flood were upon the earth in the 600th.

  112. This is where it starts. You know, in this gives us a

  113. little bit more detail to, to to verse six right here in verse 11

  114. in the 600th year of Noah's life, in the second month, the

  115. 7th day, the 17th day of the month, the same day where all

  116. the foundations of the deep broken up and the windows of

  117. heaven were open and the rings upon the earth 40 days and 40

  118. ninths. This is where we get into a

  119. repeat. In the self same day Noah

  120. entered. This entered Noah, and Shem, and

  121. Hem, and Japheth, and the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and

  122. the three wives of his sons with them into the ark.

  123. They and every Here it is still, every beast after his kind, and

  124. all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that

  125. creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after

  126. his kind, every bird of every sort.

  127. And they went in unto Noah, and into the ark, two and two of all

  128. flesh, wherein is the breath of life.

  129. And they that went in, went in male and female, of all flesh,

  130. as God had commanded, And the Lord shut him in.

  131. And the flood was 40 days upon the earth, and the waters

  132. increase and bear of the ark, and it was lifted up above the

  133. earth. And so there's a little bit of

  134. repeat going on there and just those first few verses, it seems

  135. that's taking place, right? It's like first, there's a lot

  136. of repeat if you look at it first God gives the commandment

  137. of what should be done, and then it's carried, carried out what

  138. God commanded. And then it's told us again,

  139. there's carried out what God commanded.

  140. And so it's like God tells us, and then Noah does it and then

  141. it's written as though he does it again, or it's, it's repeated

  142. again. And so Genesis 7 begins again

  143. with the Lord talking to Noah to come or inviting him, giving him

  144. an invitation, he and his family to come up on the ark.

  145. And he also then gives him some additional instructions.

  146. We'll look at here a little bit later, additional instructions

  147. about the animals that are be to be brought up on the ark and how

  148. many of those animals are to be brought up on the ark.

  149. And then the Bible tells us that after they get on the ark or

  150. within seven days, that the actual rain is going to begin.

  151. And then we have again, as I said, the next section kind of

  152. tells us Noah, it gives us the, the, the, the, the view or the

  153. of Noah actually responding to God's invitation.

  154. And he's been very obedient. He went on the ark.

  155. He got his wife, his sons, their daughters, everybody up on the

  156. ark. It states that that that after

  157. seven days that the rain did indeed begin.

  158. That's spoken of there. It tells us, as I said in verse

  159. 11, the exact month and the exact day of Noah's 600th year

  160. when the flood began. And it tells us that the rain

  161. lasted, that we all times know how long.

  162. Look at you guys, Bible scholars, Amen. 40 days and 40

  163. nights of the rain. And then it goes back into

  164. repeating again. It tells us exactly right over

  165. again about the people that went on the ark, all right, and how

  166. they took the animals on the ark and Noah responded.

  167. But then in verse 16, to shake it up just a little bit, it

  168. tells us explicitly that it was God who shut the door to the

  169. ark. But again, the 40 days is there.

  170. In verses 13 through 17 are mentioned again with this idea

  171. of increasing water. I don't know if I have time to

  172. read all these, but if you go to Genesis 4 and I'll do one just

  173. for the sake of it, so that you can see how repetitive Genesis 7

  174. and verse four, for yet seven days, and I will cause it to

  175. rain upon the earth 40 days and 40 nights in every living

  176. substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of

  177. the earth. Verse 10 And it came to pass

  178. after seven days that the waters of the flood were upon the

  179. earth. Verse 12 And the rain was upon

  180. the earth 40 days and 40 nights. Verse 17 and the flood was 40

  181. days upon the earth. And the waters increase and bear

  182. up the ark, and it was lifted above the earth.

  183. So you see, you see that that that repetition that is there

  184. among them. You'll also see that we can even

  185. back up into Genesis chapter #6 for some of the repetition

  186. whenever he talking about two times the Lord tells Moses or

  187. gives the invitation about getting on the ark.

  188. One of those is found in Genesis 618.

  189. The other one here is found in our text in Genesis Chapter 7

    Genesis 7 chapter mention

  190. and verse #1 He tells him about it.

  191. We see Noah S response and doing it twice in verse seven and

  192. verse 13 of the chapter of our text.

  193. We go back to Genesis chapter #6 and you can read about God

  194. prescribing what animals should be brought on the ark.

  195. That's in Genesis 619 through 20.

  196. You read of that again him given the prescription in Genesis 7

  197. two through 3. Then you see Noah and the

  198. animals actually obey in it, all right?

  199. In Genesis 7, verses 8 through 9 and 14 through 15, the animals

    Genesis 7:8–9

  200. are brought on the ark. So all of that is concerning

  201. that all of these repetitions from Genesis 6, Genesis 7 and

  202. and so on, so forth. And then the last part of

  203. Genesis 7, but we're not going to get to tonight.

  204. It's going to talk greatly about the waters that are increasing

  205. and prevailing over all the earth and how basically the nut

  206. the, the, the, the, the nutshell thought is this anything that

  207. wasn't on the ark was dead or died.

  208. All right. And the waters prevailed upon

  209. the the earth for 150 days that the scripture says now.

  210. So that's just kind of the layout.

  211. I just want to get you a little layout of the land, right.

  212. And if you ever thought that you had Deja vu one time reading

  213. Genesis Chapter 7, you were all right because you had read, I

    Genesis 7 chapter mention

  214. thought I already read that before.

  215. It's like, you know, you did, where we talk about the flood

  216. and we talk about this breaking out of rain and the breaking up

  217. of the deep below. And we're talking about this

  218. lasting rain lasting for 40 days and water upon the earth for

  219. such a long time. All of this in some regards, in

  220. some regards, and we'll look at that very quickly, but in some

  221. regards, the flood is a deconstruction of creation.

  222. The flood is uncreation. We had creation there in the

  223. beginning, but the flood is uncreation.

  224. It's almost to a certain degree. And we'll look at it, undoing of

  225. what God had done all right by his own, by his own, you know,

  226. decision. But think with me here for a

  227. moment. Again in some regards we can't

  228. go direct direct, but you'll see what I'm talking about whenever

  229. you go back to the beginning of Genesis, the 6th day of Genesis,

  230. what was created on the 6th day. Anybody remember man or the

  231. Mason says man along with man was the the beast of the field

  232. and the creeping things was on the 6th day that took place.

  233. If you start looking at the flood and go, go, you're going

  234. through it. You're just reading it

  235. literally, but it's almost a backward progression of

  236. creation. One of the first things that

  237. happened is Noah and his family. Come on the ark, The way that

  238. it's postured here in the scripture, along with the beast

  239. of the field and the creeping things are the first things that

  240. are listed as getting on the ark.

  241. In essence, they are removed from the earth.

  242. That was the last thing that came up on the earth in Creation

  243. day #5 Anybody remember what happened?

  244. Creation day #5 sea creatures, he says.

  245. Absolutely. And the fowl of the air, sea

  246. creatures in the fowl of the air came on day #5 Do you know in

  247. our flood story who comes next on the ark in, in the

  248. progression here, as it's written in Scripture, it is the

  249. fowls of the air. Now, the sea creatures, nothing

  250. happened to sea creatures. It was a flood, all right.

  251. But the fowls of the air, that they are removed from the earth.

  252. In a sense, you understand what I'm saying.

  253. Day #4 anybody remember day #4 anybody looking at Genesis

  254. chapter #1 day #4 we have the lesser and greater lights, the

  255. luminaries. He made the stars also again,

  256. this, this is nothing scriptural.

  257. This is just me thinking along that path.

  258. I don't I don't know if darkness covered the area that that

  259. preface this rain that was coming.

  260. None the less that that's again, that's just some of these things

  261. in regards. But you will see it here.

  262. Day #3 of creation. The dry land appeared, but as

  263. the rain comes, it's wet #1 and it's going to disappear.

  264. Deconstructed, uncreated day #2 The waters were divided from the

  265. waters that were above to the waters that were below.

  266. The Bible says concerning this rain that came that all the

  267. fountains of the great deep broke up and the windows of

  268. heaven opened. There's an intermingling of the

  269. waters from above and below, deconstructed, uncreated, Amen

  270. takes place. There's an intermingling.

  271. Let there be light. I don't have anything for you.

  272. Again, it's not perfect, all right, but we see the episodes

  273. of this that takes place. And so that said, the reversal

  274. of the flood later, when we read in Genesis, eight of them coming

  275. off the ark and what happens as far with the water starting to

  276. abate, it's almost following the same line of creation from the

  277. beginning, which means a new creation.

  278. We had Adam to begin with, but now we have Noah and his family,

  279. the starters of a family of a new creation.

  280. After at that point in time, all the others have been destroyed,

  281. all of the other animals, all the other, but they come back

  282. upon the earth in succession. It is a new creation and they

  283. are given Noah and the beast of the field.

  284. All of these are given them the same command that Adam and Eve

  285. were given all right, whenever they were created.

  286. And you can find that in Genesis 817 when the words were be

  287. fruitful and multiply. Are there one more time.

  288. And so I know and and and and we sometimes and I say we the

  289. greater society and we'll talk about some of those things

  290. always want to get into the scientific minutiae of Genesis.

  291. But the big picture is God uncreated what he had created to

  292. create. Again, the big picture is that

  293. Amen. And so everything that God

  294. desired for Noah and his family was towed to Noah really to an

  295. audience of one. We never see him necessarily

  296. given a collective statement to the family, but he speaks to

  297. Noah particularly. And from that command, Noah then

  298. would make the ark or Noah then would make sure that these types

  299. of animals and these number of those types of animals would be

  300. brought up on the ark according to God's invitation or according

  301. to God's command. Amen.

  302. So God's would speak to Noah and then it was his responsibility,

  303. and evidently he did, it was his responsibility to convey that to

  304. his family. God would speak to him

  305. concerning all the the different details and then he would convey

  306. that to his family. Noah did more.

  307. Might I say tonight, though, Noah did more than tell them his

  308. behavior. His behavioral response showed

  309. them that he believed it. Huh.

  310. So then, more than just what he said, what he did inspired their

  311. faith. He's the husband of his wife.

  312. He's the father of his children. And it's not do as I say and not

  313. as I do, huh? It's not this is what the Bible

  314. says, wife. This is what the Bible says,

  315. kids. No, no, no.

  316. It was more than something he said to them.

  317. It was something he lived before them.

  318. He men. And I know we have this great

  319. ability that God can speak to any of us, but if I can just

  320. segue to the aspect of him being the head of his home, huh?

  321. That this this is more than something we tout to our family.

  322. It's something that we have a behavioral response to.

  323. We're we're, we're, we're trying to paddle a boat up, up, up

  324. upstream. If we are telling them one thing

  325. but doing quite something different in our response, that

  326. our response seems to betray our words, that our response is

  327. saying, I really don't believe what that Bible says.

  328. I really don't believe the commandments that are written in

  329. there. I really don't believe the

  330. precepts of the doctrine are there.

  331. Well, why you say that? I, I've read that to you.

  332. Yeah, but you've not followed through on them.

  333. Amen. So it's his responsibility to

  334. convey this and. And it's evident.

  335. How was it every plank that he was laying on that ship was

  336. evidence that he believed it to be so.

  337. And so we, we, of course, in the process, and we don't know for a

  338. fact, but we assume, we presume that that Noah's sons helped him

  339. build the ark. I mean, I guess Noah could have

  340. employed some other laborers of mankind.

  341. I don't know how how much they would have, really.

  342. They might have worked for him for a price and still not

  343. believe what they were working on.

  344. People do it all the time today. Yeah.

  345. No, never mind. But we presume that Noah and his

  346. family are the ones that are working upon this.

  347. And knowing his family, here they are.

  348. They survived the turbulent times of the flood in a boat

  349. that God designed. Noah didn't design it, God did.

  350. But God told him the blueprints and the specifications, and he

  351. did it, and then he got in it. And at the end of the story, the

  352. ship makes it and Noah's family makes it #1 primarily because

  353. they made it, just like God said to make it.

  354. But #2 because a father's faith went beyond mere words and acted

  355. upon his beliefs. That's the reason why it was

  356. there. And so all of that kind of ties

  357. back to the golden verse of last week, the very last verse of

  358. chapter #6 when it sums it all up and says, thus didn't Noah

  359. according to all that God commanded him, So did he.

  360. And our little good boy Noah doesn't stop there in Genesis 6

  361. and the last verse, it continues on in chapter #7 of Noah doing

  362. all that God commands him. The pattern continues after Noah

  363. is invited or and God rather invites Noah on the ark and he

  364. makes those additional instructions about the clean and

  365. that which isn't clean and how many numbers are to be.

  366. The Bible says this Amen in verse number, verse #5 I believe

  367. it is the Bible says and know what did according unto all that

  368. the Lord commanded him. You read in verse number six a

  369. phrase in that verse that says as God commanded Noah in verse

  370. #16 it says as God commanded him.

  371. And so this, this is a a fingerprint of Noah's life doing

  372. what God commanded. This, this, this isn't a A1 time

  373. one off happening for Noah. This is a lifestyle for Noah.

  374. Noah does what God commands. Noah does what God asks.

  375. Noah obeys. He exercises his faith.

  376. His faith creates an obedience inside of him to follow through.

  377. Amen. Upon what he believes the Lord

  378. is doing and saying is true. And so that leaves us then in

  379. verse #1 God spoke to Noah then very particularly and tells him

  380. plainly for thee, for Noah, have I seen, have I seen your

  381. basically your righteousness for thee?

  382. Have I seen righteousness before me in this generation?

  383. And you know I seen it. No, God did not say Noah, I, I

  384. heard your righteousness. No, no.

  385. And say I, I, I heard your righteousness in your

  386. generation. No, he said I saw your

  387. righteousness. See the righteousness that I

  388. picked up on? And here we go again.

  389. The righteousness that I picked up on Noah isn't in what?

  390. In your well prepared speech. It was in your better prepared

  391. life, huh? There was activity that was

  392. involved in your life. And again, this, this

  393. corresponds and this goes hand in glove with things that we

  394. know from other New Testament scriptures that we've looked on.

  395. And yes, I'll hit the nail again when it lines with scripture

  396. when it says that faith without is uh huh.

  397. So therefore, our actions in response to faith are not just

  398. optional, huh? Our actions in response to faith

  399. are not optional. They're essential.

  400. They are what demonstrate our faith in the world.

  401. Amen. Now, now, Noah's faith, we know

  402. he had faith by Noah. He prepared to ark to the save

  403. in his family. Hebrews 11 tells us and we said

  404. last week that Noah's faith was accounted unto him for

  405. righteousness just as the book of Galatians talks how Abraham's

  406. faith was accounted unto him for righteousness.

  407. And so the Lord saw he saw Noah's righteousness, right and

  408. that was accounted to him because of his faith and his

  409. response and obedience to that faith.

  410. So the Lord is saying through and what you are doing right

  411. that the getting to the go the Gopher and for wood, you know,

  412. and the fixing these things together and the pitching within

  413. without I see, I see I have seen your righteousness.

  414. Now look, the Bible says there's none righteous.

  415. No, not one. It says our righteousness is

  416. filthy rags right. We understand any righteousness

  417. we have is that that is totally given to us or bestowed upon us

  418. by God and Scripture bears that out of place.

  419. He said he accounted right. So it's like you have faith.

  420. I'm going to take that. I'm going to, I'm going to twist

  421. this around like, and I'm going to make that righteousness for

  422. you. It's not your righteousness.

  423. It was accounted to us by God. All right, but look at the

  424. benefit. One of the benefits, and this is

  425. recording Isaiah 54, one of the benefits of righteousness,

  426. Isaiah 54 and verse 14. The Scripture says in

  427. righteousness shalt thou be established.

  428. Thou shalt be far from oppression, for thou shalt not

  429. fear, and from terror, for it shall not come near thee.

  430. Look what happened. Noah's faith engendered

  431. righteousness, which in turn established him.

  432. How he built the ark, pitched it within without meant to the

  433. details as much as possible, got on it.

  434. And guess what? As a result, the rising

  435. floodwaters, he was riding on them.

  436. Bible says that the ship was even lifted up above the earth.

  437. All right, They, they, they were near him, but he was safe from

  438. the terror and the oppression of them, unlike other men, mankind

  439. who didn't have faith in the ark.

  440. But that faith that he had that was appointed to him as

  441. righteousness established him, kept oppression and terror from

  442. him. And so God gets a little bit

  443. more detailed in verses 2:00 and 3:00.

  444. And you're probably feeling like we're never going to get through

  445. this because but listen, I'm sandwich and stuff together here

  446. in a bit, All right, He gets a little bit more detail of how

  447. many of what animals should be brought on the ark, right?

  448. So it was spoken of before that to the male and the female of

  449. every sort of living thing, it should be brought on the ark.

  450. But now we have this specification or further detail,

  451. that of the clean beast there's to be 7 pairs, and of that that

  452. isn't clean, the pair of fowls there is to be 7 pairs of fowl

  453. that must be brought as well. So if we were to throw up a good

  454. old childhood storybook of knowing the Ark, it it's wrong

  455. because there's some clean beasts that they have going in

  456. there that's just going in as a pair and not 7 pairs to say all

  457. right. And so, and there's some there's

  458. some vowels that are, you know, flying with it and it's mate and

  459. that's it. But nonetheless, here's my

  460. statement. Just follow me here.

  461. For anyone who believes that the details of God's instructions

  462. don't matter. Be glad that you were not

  463. responsible for making sure the animals got on the ark.

  464. Now, once we get in the book of Leviticus, maybe we'll do a

  465. series on Leviticus. One of these days whores fill in

  466. the minds of people and we'll sandwich it with the book of

  467. Hebrews. Once you get to the book of

  468. Leviticus Chapter 11, that's where God begins to codify or

    Leviticus 11 chapter mention

  469. putting the law, all these different things about unclean

  470. and clean beasts, about hooves that are pardoned, those that

  471. chew the cud, trying to give all these particulars, but that

  472. isn't in place yet. But God spoke to Noah to take

  473. the clean and those that were not clean.

  474. Noah must have had some understanding already for God to

  475. speak to him in such terms. He must have known the

  476. difference. But here's the thing.

  477. Why in the world, God, do you want these extra beasts and

  478. foul? Why is this important?

  479. Well, everybody doing OK? I know of causing you to think.

  480. I'm sorry. I'm just so sorry.

  481. Since Eden, man could only eat herbs and the fruit of trees.

  482. We have that recorded that we've looked at before.

  483. Genesis 1 verses 29 and 30 tells us that those things, herbs and

    Genesis 1:29

  484. the fruit of the trees would be meat for Adam and Eve.

  485. So the extra animals at this time while they were on the ark

  486. weren't food for them because herbs and fruit of the trees was

  487. food at that moment in time. At least it wasn't food for them

  488. for the present. Matter of fact, it's not until

  489. after the flood that the Bible tells us in Genesis 9 and verse

  490. #3 that now they can consume every moving thing that liveth.

  491. So they went from what seemed to be purely more so a vegetarian

  492. diet before the flood to after the flood.

  493. Meat is introduced. Now, some people go and say,

  494. well, that's the reason why they live so long to have vegetarian

  495. diet. So there's all you need to do is

  496. go back to eating lettuce and cabbage and stuff like that, and

  497. you'll live 900 years. Well, it's not going to happen.

  498. All right, go out tonight and take a fork with you and stab a

  499. living cow in the pasture. OK.

  500. Amen. But Genesis, sorry, you don't

  501. have any cows, do you? OK, We won't be at your house.

  502. Genesis 820 and Noah builded an altar.

  503. This this is after the flood. They've come off the ark, all of

  504. that. And Noah builded an altar unto

  505. the Lord and took of every clean beast and every clean fowl and

  506. offered burnt offerings on the altar.

  507. Now first, let's recognize we have no record that God told

  508. Noah to build an altar. It appears as though Noah felt

  509. compelled alone by himself, without any instruction, to

  510. build an altar and offer burnt offerings of clean beasts.

  511. And thou, What are you saying? I'm saying this is a scenario of

  512. numbers be an increase of clean beast and fowl and then they

  513. being sacrificed on an altar later when we have no recorded

  514. conversation between Noah and God about.

  515. This is one of the cases where Isaiah speaks that he declares

  516. the end from the beginning, from the ancient of times, the things

  517. that are not yet done. Because before the first drop of

  518. rain fell, God saw a burnt offering laid on an altar that

  519. Noah would give for gratitude of having made it through what he

  520. just made it through. Look, we have no recorded

  521. conversation, but God through His instruction to Noah,

  522. provides for the offerings he never demanded Noah even to make

  523. before the flood. God told Noah, he said take

  524. seven of each male and female, clean animals and fowls.

  525. What are you doing? God?

  526. God knows the propensity, He knows the inclination of Noah.

  527. When he gets off this thing, he's going to want to worship.

  528. When he gets off this thing, when this is all over, he's want

  529. to going to want to return some thanks and gratitude.

  530. He said I'll make provision now for what I see he's going to

  531. want to do. Think if there was only one pair

  532. if he put them on the altar for a birth sacrifice.

  533. Noah just eliminated a kind Oops, sorry, there's no doves

  534. for the future, but God, I love you glory.

  535. He just eliminated a kind if it was some of the clean beasts of

  536. a certain sort and he didn't have the seven, but only one

  537. pair. He's eliminated the male or

  538. female. There's no reproduction with

  539. itself. He just eliminated a kind that

  540. that that's assuming that there's no reproduction or or

  541. any type of birth happening on the ark.

  542. And God was clear in the Scripture that he wanted to

  543. preserve of every sort and every kind.

  544. He was clear concerning that. So Noah, I'm going to have you.

  545. I'm going to instruct you to take more clean note.

  546. Noah didn't ask why, because this is this is the mentality of

  547. Noah. This is what we've learned from

  548. Noah thus far. God says Noah doesn't have some

  549. big conversation about why I need to know.

  550. I'm not doing it unless you tell me.

  551. Oh, God, that's, that's, that's, that's just the way that Noah

  552. operates. And so he don't even ask any

  553. questions. Why?

  554. Because at first it was like the two pair, but now, God, you've

  555. increased a clean beast to seven pair and you've increased foul.

  556. I mean, I mean, some people like brother Reese over here because

  557. he he admits all the time he's nosy.

  558. He would want to know you're not going to change this to two.

  559. You're not going to change this to a pair of the seven pair on

  560. me. You're not be telling me.

  561. I know how to use brooming them up and I'm not afraid to use a

  562. guy. But no one doesn't ask why.

  563. But it came full circle when he builds his altar and he's

  564. putting sacrifice upon there. What are you saying?

  565. I'm saying that Noah's meticulous obedience enriched

  566. his altar. What do you mean by the I'm

  567. saying the details do matter. There ain't no big deal.

  568. Talk to Earth without doves or without such and such them.

  569. Now I see we look at that. But let's bring this modern day

  570. age. Let's bring it modern.

  571. It don't matter. I know what the pastor preaches.

  572. I know what the Word says, I know what God is asking, but it

  573. don't that that that minute little detail matter really

  574. don't matter. Do you want the day whenever the

  575. ark is all said and done to be done and to find out then that

  576. it mattered? Amen.

  577. Glory, glory, glory. So our, our present preparations

  578. folks, it, it has significant impact even for some of our, our

  579. future spiritual aspects of our, our, our spiritual lives.

  580. We, we listen, there's times you might not see the reason behind

  581. God's particular instruction. Noah might not have, but he just

  582. trusted the instructor. I don't know why God you're

  583. increasing this, but I'm just going to trust you and I'm going

  584. to make sure that they are on the ark because you know best

  585. what we need. Amen.

  586. Someone say Amen. All right, I got to go.

  587. So this next little bit right here, this is probably going to

  588. be more like scrambled eggs, OK? It's not, it's not like a

  589. beautiful little boiled egg. It's not like a nice little egg

  590. that's over medium. It's scrambled, OK.

  591. What that means, I'm going to be jumping around a little bit.

  592. So it's just a little bit more like scrambled eggs.

  593. I'm still going to be in the flood story, OK, just in case

  594. anybody's really getting right there.

  595. But it's an egg. It's just scrambled.

  596. We don't know why. We don't know why they were to

  597. get on the Ark seven days before the rain started.

  598. We don't. That was the instruction given

  599. to them verse #4 that they would get on the Ark seven days before

  600. the rain started. But we do know again, they did.

  601. Verse 10 seems to indicate to us that they did in fact get on it.

  602. And if nothing else, I see this, and this is just personal, but I

  603. see this as a last gracious attempt of our God.

  604. God told him in chapter 6. You remember He said my Spirit

  605. will not always strive with your flesh.

  606. They're one against the other. Even New Testament, my spirit

  607. won't always strive for your flesh.

  608. And he gave them 120 years, 120 years.

  609. You can look back at it if you need to.

  610. It's Genesis chapter #6 and verse #3.

  611. Yet his day shall be 120 years. And as we looked at the

  612. possibility, like 120 years till D-Day, 120 years till the

  613. destruction of the world. If I see anything in the seven

  614. days that you could on the ark, and then seven days later I'll

  615. cause the rain to come, I almost just see another layer of grace

  616. on God. I told you 120 years will be

  617. destruction. How about 120 years?

  618. And let me just give just about seven more days because that

  619. portrays really the mentality of your God.

  620. If anybody, and I, I say this, I say this gingerly, but if any of

  621. us go to hell, it'll be because we trampled on God's grace to

  622. get there. So this story, scrambled egg,

  623. this story, we come up on this, this number 40, it's been

  624. enlisted in, in the years of people's ages, but this is

  625. really our first introduction into the, the number 40 and

  626. verse #4 and we've often heard of this number 40.

  627. Some people talked about it's the number of testing.

  628. It's the number of trial that we see throughout Scripture.

  629. However, it is also a number that prepares us for something

  630. else. It's a number of preparation.

  631. When we look at that in Scripture, for instance, we go

  632. to the New Testament Scripture. Jesus before he started his

  633. public ministry in the Gospels for that last three, 3 1/2 years

  634. of his life, the Bible says that he went into the wilderness.

  635. He was there for 40 days fasting, and he came from there

  636. and started his public ministry That 40 years, those or those 40

  637. days in the wilderness was prep for the public ministry of the

  638. Lord Jesus Christ. We read about the spies the

  639. first time that they go into the land of Canaan.

  640. They spy out the land for how many days, 40 days?

  641. And that was supposed to be for the preparation of them and the

  642. nation of Israel going in and possessing it.

  643. We know that didn't happen. There's a lack of faith, right?

  644. Amen. Israel, though they prepped for

  645. the promised land, the next generation, they were 40 not

  646. days, but years in the wilderness, right?

  647. And those of the older generation that were 20 years

  648. old and older had to die off in those forty years.

  649. So those 40 years was a preparation of getting rid of, I

  650. know that's bored words, but getting rid of that old

  651. generation so that they could enter into their promised land.

  652. We also read the New Testament Scripture and this happens with

  653. Jesus, but we also read the the the the principle of it in the

  654. book of Leviticus. Amen.

  655. That if a woman had a a male child, that she was to go 40

  656. days of purification before she could go before the Lord with

  657. dedication. That if she had a female child,

  658. she had to wait 80 days or twice, two sets of 40 in order

  659. to go before the Lord Amen after her purification and dedicate

  660. her child. In our story, these are 40 days

  661. and nights of rain that no doubt prepare and prep them and the

  662. earth for that matter, for a new creation.

  663. Someone say Amen, scrambled egg. All right, this is like essays

  664. right here at the end. If you ever thought, and this is

  665. probably not an if you ever I know you have, but I'll, I'll

  666. couch it in terms like if you ever, if you ever thought God

  667. went silent on you during your difficulty or when you've been

  668. waiting for something. Welcome to the Noah club.

  669. Welcome to the Noah club. It's a club of elite, I must

  670. say. But God talked to Noah according

  671. to what we have record. God talked to Noah before he got

  672. on the ark. God talked to him whenever he

  673. needed to get off the ark. But we have no record evidence

  674. that God spoke to him during the storm or while he was waiting.

  675. That's good. You're right.

  676. Welcome to the Noah club. Can you imagine?

  677. You got on 7 days early, mind you.

  678. Rain 40 days, 40 nights, 150 days of drifting, 150 days of

  679. the waters abating, 40 more days of the waters abating.

  680. Raven is sent out, it goes to and fro.

  681. A dove is sent out the same day comes back.

  682. He waits seven days and sends the dove out again.

  683. Dove comes back with all the branch in its mouth, waits seven

  684. more days and sends the dove out again.

  685. Then the dove goes, and then there's still more waiting until

  686. he finally comes off the ark. Over a year of time of being on

  687. the ark, stuff happening that from what we can gauge in

  688. Scripture had never happened before.

  689. Waiting. You know, God told him this is

  690. going to be 40 days and 40 nights.

  691. He did, He told him. But God, you didn't say anything

  692. about that 150 days of the waters prevailing after the rain

  693. stopped. You didn't say anything about

  694. the 150 days for the waters to subside.

  695. And I would have a few questions for God, but we have no

  696. conversation going on, not during the storm, not during the

  697. waiting. Welcome to Noah's club.

  698. Welcome to Noah's club. He told me when to get on.

  699. He tells me when to get off. It'd been nice to hear.

  700. I have silence in between. But remember that the absence of

  701. dialogue does not mean the absence of God.

  702. Just because God isn't speaking to you in your storm doesn't

  703. mean he's not there in your storm.

  704. Just because He's not speaking to you whenever you're waiting

  705. doesn't mean He's not sitting there with you as you're

  706. waiting. Welcome to the Noah club.

  707. Amen. Lastly, scrambled egg.

  708. We're going to go get that cow. Verse 16 states again that the

  709. Lord shut Noah in along with all the living things that were upon

  710. the ark. Again, God didn't put Noah on

  711. the ark. Noah dot on the ark.

  712. He had the invitation of God, but his feet did The Walking.

  713. We say all the time God is a gentleman.

  714. He will not force and he won't, but he will pose the invitation

  715. and it's up to us to accept. God didn't put Noah on the ark.

  716. Noah dot on the ark and by doing so he was following the

  717. invitation of the Lord. He was following the command of

  718. the Lord, but whenever he got there, God did shut him along

  719. with those other things up on the ark.

  720. They entered there willfully by their obedience.

  721. But God says, if you'll go there, I'll shut you in.

  722. What does that mean to me? Because there's something about

  723. God shutting you in on something that you might have some doubts

  724. about. God shut you in.

  725. There was a divine closure on the matter of the ark whenever

  726. God shut the door. See, when God shuts us in, he's

  727. effectively saying, if I could tonight, this, that's where you

  728. need to be. There's no need to second guess

  729. at Noah. There's no need to look back.

  730. I've shut you in. This is where you should be at.

  731. And so with that type of assurance from God, hopefully

  732. that what that will do for me is that I'll stay committed to the

  733. path without wavering. I have no record in Scripture or

  734. any of Noah's family. Whenever things were topsy

  735. turvy, they went up to the window of the ark and started

  736. hanging their body halfway up, thinking, I'm getting off this

  737. thing, I'm out of here. No, God shut the door.

  738. They trusted that that's where they needed to be.

  739. And eight souls went in the ark and eight souls came out of the

  740. ark. Stay with me tonight.

  741. Look at this, folks. You all should be so happy.

  742. It's still green. I don't know what club that is,

  743. but I don't know if it's Noah's club.

  744. Get done early. What I know, what you know from

  745. our Christian experience, is this, is that sometimes God is

  746. very explicit with his instructions, and sometimes it

  747. feels as though he's vague. But we must know in each whether

  748. explicit or vague, that we can trust his character and his past

  749. dealings with us. Amen.

  750. No, it didn't have all the answers, nor did he see the

  751. complete picture. He's not like us stepping out

  752. here and he sees Genesis 6 through Chapter 9.

  753. No, he doesn't see the complete picture, but he moves forward by

  754. faith, inch by inch, day by day, timbered by timber, pitch by

  755. pitch, trusting that each step, this is a God ordained step and

  756. it's going to preserve me. It's going to preserve my

  757. family. It's going to safeguard and

  758. continue life here on earth if we'll just listen to the voice

  759. of God. We bow our heads all across this

  760. place tonight. I just ask you a few things or

  761. maybe perhaps make a few statements to you tonight

  762. concerning Noah and the flood and what we've talked about here

  763. this evening. And that is this.

  764. I ask you tonight to be bold with God.

  765. Be bold and courageous with God. And ask God about areas of your

  766. life where you're reluctant to obey him.

  767. Ask God about areas of your life where you're reluctant to obey

  768. him, kind of like God. The two going to seven.

  769. Ask God about areas of your life where you're reluctant to obey

  770. him, maybe in part because you don't understand him.

  771. And ask yourself, will I trust? Will I trust even though I don't

  772. understand because I know him or will I just totally abandoned

  773. all because I don't understand what God's doing right now?

  774. I challenge you tonight with this concerning knowing the

  775. flood as what we spoken of here again tonight is this identify

  776. other places in your life in Christian walk where you may be

  777. rushing ahead or other ones where you may be holding back.

  778. What are you saying? Timing again, timing is

  779. absolutely important in these and what we talked about

  780. tonight, details and timing. Seven days before the rain

  781. comes, you want me on details and timing?

  782. All these things are very valid and very important.

  783. So ask yourself those questions tonight.

  784. Can we lift our hands as our heads are bowed?

  785. Can we just begin to talk to the Lord?

  786. You can go on in this last prayer that we have together

  787. here this evening, just to be bold with God and ask him, Lord,

  788. Lord, what about those areas of my life, God?

  789. Those areas of my life where I'm reluctant?

  790. Those areas of my life, God, where, where?

  791. Where I don't understand, but I hear the instruction, but I

  792. don't understand. I pray, O Lord, today, help me

  793. God, let my trust the Lord be resolute.

  794. Let let my face faith God, be founded, Lord, upon the one that

  795. has brought me thus far. Help me, Lord, to lean upon my

  796. past experiences with God. Help me to lean upon the

  797. characterization of that I know of my God.

  798. I pray Lord, help me God not to get too far ahead or lag too far

  799. behind. Help me God to be in step with

  800. your will to be in step Lord, with your purpose to be in step

  801. God with your plan. Lord, teach me O God, God, help

  802. me to have a teachable spirit. Oh Lord, help me oh God, to be

  803. able to endure the days when I don't hear the voice, endure the

  804. storms God, when there is no dialogue taking place.

  805. Let me not equal that to God is not present God.

  806. I pray, oh Lord today help us to have an ear that is always open

  807. Lord, and a light that is obedient Lord to the ways and

  808. the precepts of the Lord God, I know you have our best

  809. interests. I say it so many times, but you

  810. have our best interests in mind, God, and we want to be proven as

  811. faithful unto you. God, when we this thing's all

  812. said and done and we come to the opposite side of the shore, so

  813. to speak, and we come off this heart, we want Lord Jesus to be

  814. found to be faithful and true. In the lovely name of the Lord

  815. Jesus Christ that I pray Hallelujah and Amen.

  816. The church say Amen, God bless you tonight, Amen.

  817. We'll continue from there, Amen, Next week.
