  1. Welcome to the First Apostolic Church podcast.

  2. Our church mission is to love as God loves showing compassion

  3. every soul, thus winning those souls and equipping them to be

  4. sent out to plant and to harvest.

  5. Thank you for joining us today, and we hope that you are blessed

  6. by today's podcast. Praise the Lord, everybody, man,

  7. good to be in the House of the Lord this morning.

  8. Amen. See all these smiling faces this

  9. morning, Praise the Lord, Amen. Hallelujah.

  10. Well, Amen. Just want you all to know that

  11. if you were to ask if there's a doctor in the house, yes, there

  12. is. And we are thankful, so

  13. appreciative of Brother Mason this morning.

  14. Doctor Mason, if you please. And we're so happy for him.

  15. Amen. So let's give let's give the

  16. Lord and him a clan clap. Praise the Lord.

  17. I want to welcome this morning our online crew this morning and

  18. don't want to forget. Sometimes I think maybe you

  19. know, I I know we're there. They're there.

  20. But sometimes it's good to know they're there.

  21. Sister Angie, good morning to you this morning.

  22. I know you're there, Sister Sharon.

  23. God bless you this morning. Sister Margaret's here this

  24. morning. Thank the Lord.

  25. Amen. Amen.

  26. Praise the Lord, Brother Chris, God bless you.

  27. Even though you're not able to be here.

  28. I know you're probably watching. Sister Joella, God bless you

  29. this morning. I know she's dressed and ready

  30. this morning. I can tell you that.

  31. Praise the Lord. I'm going to be turning to

  32. Jeremiah chapter #1 Jeremiah chapter number one, Praise the

  33. Lord. Hallelujah, Jeremiah chapter

  34. one. I'm going to start at verse one.

  35. I'm just going to read 3 verses and then you can be seated.

  36. Hallelujah. The words of Jeremiah the son of

  37. Hilkiah of the priests that were in Ammonoth in the land of

  38. Benjamin, to whom the word of the Lord came in the days of

  39. Josiah the son of Ammon king of Judah, in the 13th year of his

  40. reign. It came also in the days of

  41. Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, until the end of the

  42. 11th year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the

  43. carrying away of Jerusalem captive unto the 5th month.

  44. Heavenly Father, I thank you for the word this morning.

  45. Knowing God today that your word is true and steadfast, Ask you,

  46. Lord, that you would move God, anoint the lips of clay.

  47. I realize, Lord, that without you I'm nothing but God.

  48. I know that through you I can do all things through Christ, which

  49. strengtheneth me, Lord, and I'm dependent on you this morning.

  50. Bring our minds together, God, for such a time as this, Lord.

  51. It's a time when the world is full of trouble, Lord, but today

  52. you're able to bring peace in the midst of that.

  53. I asked you, Lord, in Jesus name, Amen and Amen, you can be

  54. seated. Amen.

  55. Hallelujah. This morning I want to preach to

  56. our shut insurance. Not only our shut insurance, but

  57. I'm reaching for a group of people.

  58. I'm reaching for individuals this morning that maybe you're

  59. not sure who you are and then maybe even to the place that you

  60. you're not sure of your purpose, not sure of your purpose, or

  61. you're down on yourself and you need a little encouragement.

  62. You need strength. Anybody been there?

  63. I don't know, but I can't imagine Jeremiah prophesying for

  64. more than 60 years and negative, negative, negative.

  65. Brother James he went through it, but he continued to prophecy

  66. he continued to preach those sixty years hoping to awaken

  67. some people of God and you're a while back I've I've been I'd

  68. finished a book about Eugene H Peterson running with the horses

  69. and it stirred up this message. And so if you'll humor me a

  70. while. I want to relate to you how I

  71. feel that God would have me to speak to you this morning.

  72. Jeremiah a prophet, you know, called the weeping prophet and

  73. just I want to preach this subject.

  74. What's in a name What's in a name.

  75. Let me use that subject. What's in a name I began to

  76. Jeremiah is is a prophet and preach more than 60 years and

  77. and seeming like there was nobody that listened.

  78. They turned a deaf ear to him and Jeremiah kept on preaching.

  79. But I want you to know that he stood good to his name Amen.

  80. In the Hebrew his name means JA Jah and it means God will arise.

  81. So it's abbreviated Yahweh, Jehovah or which means self,

  82. existent, one or eternal. 1 So this should be a testament to us

  83. that Jeremiah lived out his name.

  84. If we read just the 1st 3 verses of the first chapter, we find

  85. the book of Jeremiah starts out with personal names and then

  86. seven other names follow Hilkiah, Benjamin, Josiah,

  87. Ammon, Judah, Jehokam, and Zedekiah.

  88. And it seems like in our day today that personal names seem

  89. to take up the biggest part of our conversation.

  90. Names are important. Your name is important whether

  91. you realize it or not. And as the longer that I studied

  92. and the longer that I prayed about this, I found out in my

  93. studying that a lot of times people's names are named for a

  94. certain purpose. But a lot of times people's

  95. names are given to them and they live out their names, whether

  96. they realize it or not that they live out their names.

  97. So this morning, if I could just call your attention to

  98. Interpreter Interpreter's Dictionary of the Bible.

  99. It states this. In biblical thought, a name is

  100. not a mere label of identification.

  101. It is an expression of the essential nature of its bearer.

  102. And a man's name reveals his character.

  103. And it is said Adam gave names to the beast and the birds

  104. because he understood their nature.

  105. Men. Hence, to know the name of God

  106. is to know God as he has revealed himself.

  107. I don't know about you, but I began to be stirred when I found

  108. out that our name reveals us many times.

  109. I I don't know my name means humble and means small, so I

  110. don't know. I hope I fit that.

  111. I don't know about that, but you know, it'll be on your end to

  112. judge that or not. But I began to study this and,

  113. and the names began to flow through my mind and meanings of

  114. names and, and, and, and Jeremiah's, he lived out his

  115. name. He, he, he tried to do exactly

  116. what God would do, Amen. He, he was, he was trusting in

  117. Jehovah God to help him. And Psalms 9 and 10 says And

  118. they that know thy name will put their trust in thee, for thou

  119. Lord has not forsaken them that seek thee.

  120. I want you to know God does not forsake those that seek after

  121. him. Jeremiah sought after him and

  122. for those sixty years God led him and told him what to speak

  123. and and he was a guy that I'm sorry, he used props.

  124. Just think about all the things that he done.

  125. He done this and he done that. He took he took a brand new

  126. garment and he hid it in the mud and went to get it months later

  127. and it was it was of no good. It was no count for nothing.

  128. He used props. Amen.

  129. And the Full disclosure of his nature and character is given in

  130. Jesus Christ who has manifested his name to us and not just

  131. manifest. He still is today, man.

  132. He's been real to me, He's been real to you, Amen.

  133. He's been there for us. John 17 and six.

  134. And Jesus was speaking, and he said, I've manifested thy name

  135. unto the men which thou gave us me out of the world thine they

  136. were. And thou gave us them me, and

  137. they have kept thy word. A man here's, here he is, He's

  138. speaking to the Father. And then John 1726.

  139. And I have declared unto them by name, and I will declare it,

  140. that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them,

  141. and I in them. Oh, Hallelujah.

  142. He's trying to tell us that I wanted to be in them and I want

  143. them to be in me. A man this morning.

  144. Hallelujah. A name is associated with words.

  145. It's associated with fame and renown and memory and memorial.

  146. It's associated with remembrance and even fragrance.

  147. I like that it got to me. Fragrance.

  148. How many do you ever think about your name having a certain

  149. fragrance to it? Well, I want you to know it

  150. does. 980 times in Scripture. It is.

  151. It refers to scent. Scent.

  152. Smell. OK, important.

  153. I think so. Amen.

  154. Nothing exists unless it has a name.

  155. Its existence is concentrated in its name.

  156. I said its existence is concentrated in its name.

  157. To cut off the name. Therefore it's the end, The

  158. existence of something. Oh, Hallelujah.

  159. Praise God. I'm glad his name didn't cut off

  160. this morning. Hallelujah.

  161. I need some help to preach this morning.

  162. Anybody going to help me preach? Let me remind you, you have a

  163. set apart place that only you can feel.

  164. See, I think sometimes we get it all caught up that well, I'm

  165. noble. I'm a nobody, ain't you know,

  166. anybody can take my place. Anybody feel that way?

  167. Ever felt that way? Say, get, it wouldn't matter if

  168. I say or not or would it? Well, I won't tell you something

  169. that God has taken you and he has set you apart for a place to

  170. fulfill. He has, He has chosen us as

  171. members of the body in particular.

  172. So he's got a particular place for us.

  173. He's got a particular job for us, and we must fulfill that

  174. place to fulfill God's purpose in our life.

  175. He meant to live up to our name. Come on, we must fulfill that

  176. place because God has called us for such a time as this.

  177. Hallelujah. So nothing exists without a

  178. name. Its essence is concentrated in

  179. its name and to cut it off is to do away with it.

  180. Hallelujah. You, you have got a set apart

  181. place. You have got a place that's

  182. different than anybody else. God has chosen you for a

  183. particular position, for a particular time.

  184. No one can. I'm going to tell you no one can

  185. substitute you. Hallelujah.

  186. I'm going to give that time to say again, I said nobody can.

  187. Nobody, nobody can substitute you because God has chosen you

  188. for a certain position. A man thank you Jesus, no one

  189. can replace you. Before you were good for

  190. anything, God decided that you was good for what he was doing.

  191. He told Jeremiah that I've called you from the mother's

  192. womb. I I called you before you ever

  193. hear, I called you to be a prophet.

  194. He he told Jeremiah, he said, I know I had your life lined out.

  195. I'm going to tell you, I think sometimes God's got our life

  196. lined out and I don't know about you, but there's sometimes that

  197. I kind of hold back from what God has got for me to do.

  198. Come on, we, we don't want to step into that part.

  199. I, I fought that I, I fought that in my life.

  200. I fought the minister. I told Mama you're wrong.

  201. You know, she said you God saves you for a purpose, son, one of

  202. these days you're going to be a preacher.

  203. And I I tried to make a liar out of her, but I couldn't make a

  204. liar out of Mama. Hallelujah.

  205. Your place in life. Amen.

  206. Doesn't depend on how well you did in the entrance exam.

  207. Your place in life is not determined by what market or

  208. there he is for your type of personality.

  209. He didn't he didn't say, well, I've got that.

  210. Let me look at these personalities.

  211. I got there. Let me see what I can do with

  212. it. You know what God always done

  213. the impossible when you look around in Scripture, he chose

  214. men that you and I probably wouldn't have chosen.

  215. He chose the fishermen come on each each of all things.

  216. He chose the tax collector. You know that that everybody

  217. looks at and said, well, he's nothing but a cheat.

  218. You know he but God said, I see something in him I can use.

  219. He even chose a Judas. Think about that.

  220. A betrayer, one that just betrayed him.

  221. Come on, Hallelujah. I'm going to tell you we may not

  222. have betrayed the Lord the same way, but we've betrayed him many

  223. times. We've made mistakes many times.

  224. We've done things and, and, and God Chuck, he said no, but I'm

  225. going to tell you he loved us anyway.

  226. Come on. When I always didn't do what he

  227. wanted me to do or how he wanted me to do it, He still loved me.

  228. He loves you in the midst of your trouble in the truth, He

  229. loves you in the midst of your sin.

  230. Come on, I said he loves you in the midst of your sin.

  231. He loves you wherever you're at in life and he don't quit loving

  232. you. Glory, Hallelujah.

  233. They didn't turn my clock on this morning.

  234. So in trouble. Oh Jesus.

  235. I'll, I'll try, I'll try. Keep eye on my watch here.

  236. Hallelujah. Your place is not determined by

  237. some market of what personality you are.

  238. Hallelujah, Glory, somebody shout.

  239. I'm important. I think we can do.

  240. I'm important, Sister Jen. You're important.

  241. I know sometimes we look at it Yeah, we we don't think we're

  242. important, but you are important.

  243. Eugene Rosenstock Hesse wrote this.

  244. What's in the name? The history of the human race is

  245. in names. Our objective friends do not

  246. understand that since they move in a world of objects which can

  247. be counted and numbered, that they reduce the great names of

  248. the past to the dust and the ashes.

  249. This they call scientific history.

  250. But the whole meaning of history is in the proof that there have

  251. lived people before us and before this present time whom is

  252. important for us to meet. And the only way we can meet

  253. them is through history. Sometimes we learn about people

  254. by reading their books. You know, if you want to know

  255. about somebody, what you do is if if they've got a book out,

  256. you read about them. Come on.

  257. I don't know about you, but you know, I've been reading this

  258. book all of my life. Even when I was a kid, I sat on

  259. Dad's lap and I'd read that. He'd give me scripture reading.

  260. I'd read it. You know why?

  261. Because I wanted to find out about this man called Jesus.

  262. Come on. I I wanted to learn his

  263. character. I wanted to learn what this

  264. Bible was all about. I wanted to know his history.

  265. You know, I know some of you might, might think, well, I

  266. haven't got very much of A history.

  267. And I don't know, I feel that way that sometimes I don't have

  268. much of A history. But I'm going to tell you,

  269. you've all got a history there. We've we've got times in our

  270. life that if it comes to the end of our life and when somebody

  271. goes back and write a book on us, we've got some good things

  272. and bad things. All of us, have we?

  273. We've not, we've not been left out, but you've got some good.

  274. There's some things we could probably testify about where

  275. you've been used of God in a mighty way, you know, and maybe

  276. it seemed like for you it was only for a moment or one or two

  277. times, but you don't know how many people that touched in that

  278. length of time. I want to tell you, your name

  279. should not be blotted out of history.

  280. Your name is important. If Jesus name is important, then

  281. your name is important. And Jesus name is important

  282. because every kneel's going to bow and every tongue's going to

  283. confess that he's Lord. Yeah.

  284. There's no other name given among men whereby we must be

  285. saved, only the name of Jesus. It's it's important name.

  286. It's a saving name. You can use that name.

  287. Heard people have heard, heard testimonies of people that were

  288. about in the accident and said Jesus, and somehow they open

  289. your eyes and it's all over and it's they're all right.

  290. Nothing was touched and you're still alive.

  291. And it was all because of the name of Jesus.

  292. What a powerful name. Jeremiah, a whole book written

  293. about him and it's it's full of stories, it's full of

  294. happenings, it's full of prophecies.

  295. It's it's full of him trying to get people to change their ways.

  296. I believe we're living in that time.

  297. We're living in a Jeremiah Day today when the world is is just

  298. at odds and everything it's going on, especially if it's a

  299. toward God, It's important. Our name is important.

  300. Hallelujah. We take a child.

  301. I began to think about this. We want to take a child into my

  302. arms to dedicate that baby. And I asked the parents what is

  303. the child's name? We're not asking who is this

  304. child, but we're also asking what do you want this child to

  305. become? What are your wishes for this

  306. child? So we're always in the process

  307. of becoming something. More or less.

  308. Our life is filled full of becoming something I don't know

  309. about you, but I want to become like him.

  310. So that's why I read this book. That's why I pray.

  311. Come on. That's why I go to church,

  312. Hallelujah. That's why I worship him is

  313. because he's worthy to be worshipped, Lori.

  314. Hallelujah. So I'm asking when I dedicate

  315. that child, what is the wishes you have for this child?

  316. What do you want this child to become?

  317. That's why you bring them for dedication because you want them

  318. dedicated to something to do with the Lord and life to be

  319. filled with with happenings of God.

  320. You know, be part of the Kingdom of God to have a calling, maybe

  321. may maybe to be a singer, maybe to be a musician, you know,

  322. maybe to have a part in the Kingdom, you know, something

  323. that would stir lives and hearts.

  324. Hallelujah. There are all kinds of changes

  325. that's going on in our body and our mind right up until the day

  326. that we pass from this life. We never quit thinking about

  327. things. Come on, when you get up the

  328. morning, you're thinking, Brother Reese, you're getting

  329. your late day lined out. What I'm going to do today.

  330. What's Grammy going to have me doing today?

  331. You know, what will I do today? Come on, you there.

  332. There's not a day that don't go up.

  333. You're thinking when you get up and when you're going to bed,

  334. your mind don't quit. It's still thinking even when

  335. you're sleeping. You're so much thinking that

  336. sometimes it wakes you up. Come on.

  337. I'm talking about your name is important.

  338. When God calls your name and he said it's time for you to go

  339. home, you're going to go home. It's important.

  340. Names are important. Jesus name is important.

  341. Hallelujah, we go to bed thinking.

  342. We get up thinking, Hallelujah, we're going to become something,

  343. you know, And if I'm going to tell you something, all this

  344. thinking affects your name or what you're becoming, good or

  345. bad. What are we going to do with the

  346. name of Jesus? I wonder?

  347. I wonder what's what's going to happen to the name of Jesus?

  348. What are we going to do with it? I want you to know something.

  349. We are our brother's keeper. What?

  350. What we do effects those that follow us.

  351. What we say effects others. The direction we're headed

  352. effects others. If God set you up as a leader,

  353. there's going to be people following you, and you want them

  354. following you down the right Rd. not the wrong one.

  355. Come on. If we're going to be example,

  356. let's be a good example. Come on, Hallelujah name's

  357. important because you'll remember somebody if you've if

  358. you've if you're following somebody, you're going to

  359. remember them. They're all of all of you've got

  360. somebody in your mind that you'd like to be like, come on,

  361. there's somebody that you admire in your life and you want to be

  362. like that individual. You know, we all want to be like

  363. God, but there's there's somebody we're watching.

  364. And I want you to know that we we, if we're not careful, we'll

  365. get let down. Come on.

  366. I've had my eye on people and all at once something come up

  367. and I'll go, hmm, that's Plumb out of character.

  368. I'm going to tell you we all make mistakes.

  369. There's none of us above sin. We've all sinned and we've come

  370. short of the glory of God. We've come short of the glory of

  371. God. We've come short.

  372. God's not always glorying in US. He's, he's not always liking

  373. what we do. He's not always liking what we

  374. say. He's not always liking the

  375. things we do. But I'm going to tell you

  376. something. Your name's still important

  377. because one of these days it's going to be written down in the

  378. Lamb's book of life. That's going to have everything

  379. to do with where you go. Glory Hallelujah.

  380. Thank you, Jesus, Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus, Hallelujah.

  381. Names are important. We start out as out as children,

  382. but we end up as adults. We may not see the results of

  383. what we're becoming, but we know that the goal is to be like

  384. Jesus. I want to become something.

  385. Come on. I want to be in the process.

  386. If you're becoming, you're, you're trying to, you're working

  387. on something. I always want to be coming as

  388. long as I'm living. Brother Reese, I want to, I want

  389. to be becoming. I want to be trying to witness

  390. to somebody. I want to try to encourage

  391. somebody. I want to strengthen somebody in

  392. their, in their trouble or in their heartache.

  393. Sister Jen, I want to encourage somebody.

  394. I want to be coming. I've not arrived.

  395. I won't arrive until I'm taken out of here, but I want to be

  396. coming all the time. Thank you.

  397. Jesus. Hallelujah.

  398. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.

  399. Sister Angie, I know you're listening this morning.

  400. I want to tell you something. Your name means messenger of

  401. God. I want to be a messenger of God.

  402. Come on. I want to be a messenger of God.

  403. And she does that sister Angie does it.

  404. She does it on Facebook. She not, might not be able to

  405. get out here to church and only once in a great time, but she's

  406. a witness. And and I'm going to tell you

  407. your main, your name stands out to somebody.

  408. And, and, and you're going to, you're going to be, you're going

  409. to be exactly what God wants you to be.

  410. If you'll walk with him, if we'll walk like Jeremiah did and

  411. do what Jeremiah prophesied, if we'll do the things that God

  412. wants us to do and say the things he wants us to say, he'll

  413. always be there. Sister Joella Jessup, I know

  414. you're listening this morning. Your name means Jehovah is God

  415. that fits you. Amen.

  416. Hallelujah. Because if she was here, she'd

  417. probably be back here saying Amen, we're doing this little

  418. number or something. You know, Sister Margaret's here

  419. this morning. Thank God she's she's able to be

  420. here this morning. Her name means Pearl.

  421. Yes, Sir. Pearl.

  422. You're a Pearl. I want to tell you, God is

  423. always looking out for his own. Your name means something.

  424. You may not think much of it, but if you really knew what the

  425. meaning of your name was, Amen. Sister Sharon Roberts.

  426. Well, I almost hate to tell her here because she'll start

  427. smiling, says spiritually intense.

  428. But I want you to listen to the last little phrase, Sister

  429. Sharon. Listen real close.

  430. Intense. Spiritually intense can sting or

  431. charm. I guarantee her daughter, Sister

  432. Ron, it's a Amen, man. What a great thing.

  433. So your name does mean something, Sister Angie.

  434. That was your name too, Sister Angie.

  435. So you know what your name means now, Glory Hallelujah.

  436. I hate to tell Brother Mike what your name is.

  437. Means something. I'm going to tell you something.

  438. It says who is like God? Who is like God?

  439. I don't know, but I want to be like God.

  440. Who is like God? Answer that question for me, and

  441. if I'm not there, I want to be like him.

  442. Come on, I don't know about you, but sometimes names will propel

  443. us forward instead of us taking a back seat and, and, and not

  444. doing anything or want not one to be involved in nothing.

  445. It'll get you involved because it propels you forward.

  446. It tells you what's expected of you.

  447. If you want to live up to your name, you know, sometimes you

  448. got to get down to business. Lord Hallelujah, Brother James,

  449. your name means shall follow guard or protect.

  450. Thank God, Hallelujah. We need some people that will

  451. follow God, that will protect. Come on, we need some protectors

  452. in the church. What I'm telling you is we need

  453. all these names in the church because they all mean something.

  454. Glory Hallelujah, Sister Jen. I know what you hope.

  455. Hope Kevin's listening this morning.

  456. The word Jen or Jennifer means Fair Lady.

  457. Glory. I I don't even want to tell you

  458. what your husband's name means. He'll get a big head and he

  459. won't be able to wear his hat for a couple days.

  460. But names mean something. Glory Hallelujah.

  461. Kevin means handsome or beloved. Come on, church, I'm telling you

  462. about names. What's in a name?

  463. Your life could be in a name. It could be all laid out before

  464. you in a name and you don't even realize it.

  465. Come on. God's got a purpose for you,

  466. even. Maybe for your name, if you

  467. please. He's even got a He's Reese.

  468. Do you know what Reese means? Enthusiasm.

  469. Popularity. I see both of them hanging over

  470. your head. This is enthusiastic guy.

  471. Just ask the people that work for him on the Creek cleaning

  472. crew. He's wanting to get the job

  473. done. Could you be here a certain

  474. certain time Tuesday and we're going to clean this place up and

  475. he's he's after it. He was after it this morning.

  476. He he was after it. He's standing there at the back

  477. door and I I'd been in the back praying I was here first course

  478. and then and and standing back in that doors, Brother Reese and

  479. he was looking at me. Just give me this real funny

  480. look. He said, Bishop, can you, can

  481. you, I, I've just got a question.

  482. Can you help me? So I hope so.

  483. She had a little job. We went upstairs and took care

  484. of that job. He was in the process and needed

  485. a little help. So I helped him.

  486. Come on. You know what?

  487. This is what the church is all about.

  488. It's we're supposed to help each other, not just with the things,

  489. but I'm talking spiritually. We need to help each other.

  490. We need to least. Oh, Hallelujah.

  491. If this church is ever going to grow, we're going to have to

  492. help the pastor. If this church is ever going to

  493. grow, we're going to have to help each other.

  494. Come on it. And one of us or two of us or

  495. ten of us cannot take the job and do it by ourself.

  496. Someplace there's got to be some people that have put their

  497. shoulder to the wheel and say, I'm going to do it.

  498. And names mean something. Glory, Hallelujah, thank you

  499. Jesus. Hallelujah, thank you Jesus.

  500. Ephesians 413 says, Till we all come into the unity of the faith

  501. and of the knowledge of the Son of God and to a perfect man and

  502. to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, that's

  503. our ultimate goal. That's what we're working for.

  504. Are we there yet? No, but I will tell you

  505. something. I'm striving to become.

  506. Somebody said become. I want to become.

  507. Thank you, Jesus. Hallelujah.

  508. We do not deteriorate. We do not.

  509. We don't disintegrate, but we become.

  510. I said we don't deteriorate, We don't disintegrate, but we

  511. become I am what I am because of Christ.

  512. Can we really say that? Don't blame who you are on your

  513. parents or your genes contributed by them.

  514. Don't blame who you are on your parents or the genes that they

  515. contribute. Amen.

  516. Because those genes are compound.

  517. Compound with godly genes wasn't just it's, you got to understand

  518. it's not just your parents that's involved in this.

  519. It's a God thing. It's a God thing that you're

  520. here and I'm here. It's a God thing.

  521. Amen. Hallelujah.

  522. So what we become is up to us. It's not up to our genes.

  523. It's not up to come on. It's not up to God only.

  524. It's up to us. We got to do something about

  525. ourselves. We got to do something about our

  526. own life. There comes a time in our life

  527. that we got to say, OK, I got to straighten this out.

  528. If I'm not doing what I ought to be doing, then I need to

  529. straighten this out because I I got to become something.

  530. Oh, Jesus. See, names come from a lot of

  531. times from a relative. Somebody wants you name

  532. something because of your relative was named that or a

  533. Bible name. They want you named a Bible name

  534. or you've got a namesake that you're following after.

  535. Paul didn't have no choice in his name.

  536. He was named after his daddy, Junior.

  537. So Paul R McGee Junior, he didn't have a choice.

  538. You know, people don't have a choice.

  539. Their names. Your name, your name.

  540. Because of your parents, they've allowed that name to be put on

  541. you. Amen.

  542. Or or you're named after someone that you admire.

  543. Maybe you name somebody. You name your child after

  544. someone that's admired by you, so you would like your child to

  545. be like them. Maybe.

  546. See, names mean something, but there's other names that you

  547. don't want. I've I've never heard anybody

  548. that really wanted just had a yearning to name their child

  549. Ichabod. Only in the Bible.

  550. You know I don't I don't want to name my child.

  551. God is departed. You know that's not a name you

  552. want. You don't want to.

  553. Well, I'm just going to name him Devil.

  554. You ain't nobody wants to name their child Devil.

  555. There ain't nobody wants to name their child stupid.

  556. Sometimes they'll be that without even being named that

  557. you don't want to do that. You don't want to name your

  558. child loser. I don't want him to be a loser.

  559. Come on. He's got.

  560. I want him to have a real name. Nobody wants their child to

  561. aspire to these kinds of names. But we're living today in the

  562. age that I doubt if any people, many people looks up the name of

  563. their child before they name them.

  564. But you would be surprised how many times that people live out

  565. their name. Jeremiah lived out his name.

  566. The whole this whole book that I read was about Jeremiah.

  567. The whole thing about his prophecies and what he done and

  568. how he tried to get people to change, yet they didn't listen.

  569. I'm going to tell you names mean something.

  570. We're living in that age today. You would be surprised.

  571. You would be surprised how many people live out their name.

  572. Hallelujah. I'm wondering if God don't have

  573. a lot to do sometimes with names that we give her children even

  574. though we don't realize it's happening.

  575. He has everything to do with it. Praise the Lord, Hallelujah.

  576. I really, it kind of struck me as I was studying this and she's

  577. she's in there in classroom, but mom and daddy's in here.

  578. I'm beginning to think about little Natalie and all that

  579. she's been through. She's a miracle child in our

  580. midst. Truth is medically and all that

  581. she probably even shouldn't be even be here, but she's here

  582. because of God, because of prayers.

  583. And somehow I just had to look up her name and her name means

  584. the birth of the Lord. Now listen to this.

  585. But it's got another little refreshing thing on the end.

  586. It's linked to rebirth or refresh.

  587. I'm telling you, that little girl's lived out that not

  588. supposed to ever walk, not sure she could ever talk or do any of

  589. that thing. She does both of them plenty.

  590. Well, I'm talking about when God, when.

  591. A lot of times when God puts a name in a mama's mind, it's more

  592. than we even realize. It's more than we even realize.

  593. And a lot of times, I think sometimes it'd be good to look

  594. up the name of that child after you've done it already, just to

  595. see, you know what? Maybe God had something to do

  596. with this. No, I think he had a lot to do

  597. with it in a lot of cases. Oh, yes, thank you, Jesus.

  598. Somebody thanks. Thank you, Jesus.

  599. Thank you, Jesus. Hallelujah.

  600. Thank you, Jesus. But Freddy, your name means

  601. peaceful ruler. I believe that's pretty fits him

  602. pretty good. He just does it.

  603. A lot of times what he's saying he don't, he don't a lot.

  604. A lot of times what he's thinking, he don't say, come on,

  605. you know what? We need some peaceful rulers

  606. that we pray about it instead, instead of just opening my

  607. mouth, I have a lot better off sometimes just pray about it.

  608. Say, OK God, you've got this, I'm dependent on you.

  609. Hallelujah, thank you Jesus. Your wife's name means heavenly

  610. glory. Hallelujah, thank you Jesus.

  611. Rebecca, your name means tie or bind that guy you're setting

  612. beside his name means handsome in the great what God does so

  613. many times church if we would just take a look at what God is

  614. doing names mean something. What's in your name?

  615. Where are you headed? What are you becoming?

  616. Oh, Jesus Hallelujah. Thank you.

  617. Jesus Hallelujah. Hallelujah.

  618. Thank you. Jesus Hallelujah.

  619. Sister Ray. I know she's taking care of

  620. children someplace, but I know her name means something great

  621. means it's a female sheep, but it says one most most tenderly

  622. loved one most tenderly loved. Lot of times when you get to

  623. thinking bad about yourself, sometime you ought to look up

  624. your name and see what it means. We're so great, so privileged.

  625. I'm here to remind you this morning that you can be a nobody

  626. and still become a somebody. I said you could become.

  627. You can be a nobody and still become somebody.

  628. Hallelujah. I want to become.

  629. Come on, let's say I want to become.

  630. Gideon did. Gideon declared.

  631. My family is poor. I am leased in my father's

  632. house. It's not how you see yourself.

  633. It's how you see how God sees you.

  634. It's not how you see yourself. It's how God sees you.

  635. And God seen Gideon as a mighty man of valor when he said, hey,

  636. Gideon, Gideon's out there hiding.

  637. He's hiding in the thrashing floor.

  638. He said he's trying to get away from the Middonites.

  639. He's he's getting away from the Midians.

  640. They're, they're, they're, they're stealing from him and

  641. they're taking their crops and all of that.

  642. And then Lord, Lord says, you mighty man of valor, he's

  643. looking around like man, who you talking about?

  644. It's just me out here, Lord, but the Lord labeled him.

  645. Now I, I got news for you. I think God has labeled some

  646. people in this church and we're not, we're not doing very good

  647. with our name. We're we're, we're standing back

  648. and we're not doing what we should be doing because our name

  649. is much different than what we're doing.

  650. Oh, Glory. Thank you.

  651. Jesus. Sister Brenda, you're just a a

  652. warrior. Your name means a, a flaming

  653. sword, a fighter and sakes. Hallelujah, Brother Aaron.

  654. Your name means a mountain of strength.

  655. Glory, Hallelujah. We are so blessed this morning

  656. to have a God that loves us so much today.

  657. Hallelujah, glory Hallelujah. Thank you Jesus.

  658. Amen. I'm through y'all.

  659. Hallelujah. Let's stand.

  660. Thank you Jesus. Hallelujah, God, I pray this

  661. morning, Lord, you would move in this service, God.

  662. Lord, we want to become something.

  663. I don't want to become what I want to be, Lord, but I want to

  664. become what you want me to be, Lord.

  665. I need your guidance and all of that.

  666. Lord. I need you, God, I need you,

  667. God. Help me, Lord, Hado bocha tada

  668. bojosa hayon dodo bojosi. Amen.

  669. Or maybe somebody in here this morning that you don't feel like

  670. you're living up to the wishes that Lord has for you.

  671. This altar's open for you this morning.

  672. Maybe you Facebook Live this morning.

  673. Somebody's sitting there and you think you got no calls in life.

  674. I want you tell you something. God's got a purpose for you

  675. being here. He sees you right where you're

  676. at and He can make something out of you.

  677. You can become something. It's His.

  678. It's his desire for you to become something for Him, for

  679. His Kingdom, for His glory. Hallelujah, thank you Jesus.

  680. Hallelujah God. Thank you Jesus, God touched

  681. somebody this morning. God, I know my nothingness.

  682. Lord, I know your abilities. Lord, this morning, what a great

  683. God you are able to do, exceeding and abundantly.

  684. Above all we can ask or think. Lord, I need you in this house

  685. this morning. Lord, follow my Shandorobo

  686. pussy. Oh Lord, Hallelujah Lord, my

  687. desires to become like you. Lord, I want to have ears open

  688. to hear you, God, when you speak to me.

  689. Dear God, I want to have eyes. I want to look through your eyes

  690. and not my own, 'cause God, if I look through your eyes, I'll see

  691. what you see. Help me, Lord, this morning,

  692. God, I need you in this hour right now.

  693. The world's in trouble. Lord, I'm praying, Lord Jesus,

  694. for a Holy Ghost revival. I'm praying for an awakening in

  695. this city. Lord, I'm praying for the word

  696. of God that's in this church to be spread, Lord, outside this

  697. church to the north-south and the east and the West.

  698. I'm praying for a holy presence, God, in your house.

  699. Thank you for listening. If you would like more
