  1. Welcome to the First Apostolic Church podcast.

  2. Our church mission is to love as God loves showing compassion

  3. every soul, thus winning those souls and equipping them to be

  4. sent out to plant and to harvest.

  5. Thank you for joining us today, and we hope that you are blessed

  6. by today's podcast. Give him the praise.

  7. Good to be here today. Good to see each of you.

  8. Amen. This morning, the House of the

  9. Lord. We're going to be turned into

  10. Acts chapter #2 this morning. Acts chapter #2 Amen.

  11. We've had spring conference this weekend up in Newcastle, and the

  12. Lord's spirit was rich and God showed speaking about God

  13. showing up and in all of his spirit.

  14. We were just having what was called the informed talks on

  15. Saturday, almost like a little 20 minute blurbs of informed

  16. talks. And even during those, the

  17. Spirit of Lord just rushed into that place at a particular time.

  18. So it doesn't matter the setting and it doesn't necessarily

  19. matter the content, Amen. And God can show up anytime God

  20. wants to show up, Amen. And so we got home last night

  21. later in the afternoon and I came over here to the church to

  22. pray and went home. I was kind of exhausted.

  23. I laid down, went to sleep, got up at 1:00, did some studying

  24. for about a couple hours, went back to bed.

  25. It just just all kinds of messed up stuff.

  26. And I told my wife as I woke up this morning, I must have just

  27. been dreaming about then coming to the church this morning and,

  28. and ministering and stuff. And it was like I, I was

  29. floundering around about what was going to be done and, and,

  30. and my dad was saying now, son, don't worry about it.

  31. Don't worry about it. I didn't realize you had all

  32. this going on this weekend. And I, I take care of said no I.

  33. Got it, I got it. It's OK.

  34. And I went to the pulpit and I said, let's turn to the book of

  35. Genesis. So I don't know what's going on

  36. today. I told you I was in Genesis

  37. mode, but we're in the book of Acts.

  38. Amen. You know as well as anything,

  39. and I've said this many times, that I think that there are just

  40. some things that must be mentioned, preached, taught

  41. every year, every year in the church that we need to talk

  42. about certain things. Like so far this year I've

  43. already taught or preached along the lines of faith, all right,

  44. or belief and grace and baptism. This morning I want to talk

  45. about the gift of the Spirit today.

  46. Amen. If we can, I think it's

  47. important that we constantly talk about these type of things.

  48. So go to a very, very familiar passage to many of Acts chapter

  49. #2 and verses 37 and 38 as a, as purely a launching point.

  50. Amen. Here today, the Bible states

  51. these words in verse #37. Now when they heard this, they

  52. were pricked in their heart and said unto Peter and to the rest

  53. of the apostles, men and brethren, what shall we do?

  54. Then Peter said unto them, repent, be baptized everyone of

  55. you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and

  56. ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

  57. Again today I want to talk about the gift of the Spirit and it's

  58. called several different things and historically anytime I talk

  59. about the Holy Ghost I'm long winded.

  60. So I'm going to try to pick up my feet and put them down today

  61. just because historically that's the way it goes.

  62. Amen. So, Lord, we come to you today.

  63. We're thankful, Lord, for this opportunity to be here.

  64. We're thankful, O Lord Jesus, today, God, that you're able to

  65. renew, restore, refresh. Lord, in our lives, God, bring

  66. Lord, and introduce something, Lord, to us.

  67. Perhaps God, our ears have not heard.

  68. I pray Jesus or Lord remind us God of this gift, Lord, that we

  69. have Lord been made partakers of and everyone or another.

  70. The sound of my voice can be I pray, O Lord Jesus, by the power

  71. of your spirit today you're capable of doing it in Jesus

  72. name. Everyone say Amen.

  73. You may be. Seeing it this morning.

  74. The gift of the Spirit or the gift of the Holy Ghost.

  75. Not two separate entities or two separate things, but exactly the

  76. same thing. As a matter of fact, in the

  77. Greek language which the New Testament was written in, there

  78. is one word that both is translated ghost and spirit.

  79. So you don't hurt my feelings if you want to call it the Holy

  80. Spirit, Holy Ghost matters not. To me and the Greek it have been

  81. the same word anyway. And so we're talking about one

  82. and the same thing throughout Scripture.

  83. It's called several different things, or at least relayed to

  84. as several different things. We're talking about the birth of

  85. the Spirit in Scripture. It's called the gift of the

  86. Spirit. It's called receiving the

  87. Spirit. Other places in the epistles,

  88. it's called the baptism of the Spirit.

  89. All these things are one and the same thing.

  90. They are not individual different things, but they are

  91. the same thing. Receiving the Holy Spirit

  92. according to the word of the Lord is not a second or a third

  93. blessing that come to you after conversion, as some would attest

  94. to. This isn't separate from a

  95. person's conversions. It's not from a person being

  96. saved, but it is a crucial part of being born again, of the

  97. water and of the of the Spirit is a crucial part of the new

  98. birth experience. As a matter of fact, the Bible

  99. tells us in the Epistles that the way into the body, or the

  100. way into this thing called the body of Christ, is by baptism,

  101. as many are baptized into Christ.

  102. Have put on Christ, but that's not just a water baptism but

  103. also a Spirit baptism our way into the body is by baptism both

  104. water and spirit into this this this thing called the body of

  105. Christ. The Bible says have a lot of

  106. Bible today Amen. First Corinthians chapter 12 and

    1 Corinthians 12 chapter mention

  107. verse 13. For by 1 Spirit are we all

  108. baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether

  109. we be bond or free. In other words, it is the same

  110. responsibility and plan for each and every individual regardless.

  111. Jew, Gentile, bond free. Doesn't matter who you are, what

  112. your age demographic is, what your socioeconomic status is,

  113. what your race is. It is the same plan for all for

  114. all. Have been made to drink, the

  115. Bible says, into one Spirit. And so baptism is is spirit.

  116. Baptism is a theme here in First Corinthians chapter #12 it's

  117. constantly dealing with the works of the Spirit, Amen.

  118. And even delves over into other aspects of the Spirit.

  119. So in order to be in the body, the one body, not a multiplicity

  120. of bodies of Christ. But the one body of Christ,

  121. Amen. To be In order to be in the body

  122. of Christ, we must be baptized into it by this Spirit.

  123. Amen. And that is what we're calling

  124. the gift of the Spirit or the infilling.

  125. Of the Holy. Ghost.

  126. Amen. And to deny our our our need or

  127. the essentiality of that would in essence to be denying our

  128. placement then in that one and only body.

  129. Amen that the scripture speaks of.

  130. Christ has one body. He has one church as it's

  131. described in the scripture. Other times it's spoken of as a

  132. bride. He has one wife, one bride.

  133. So to speak, one people, Amen. And labeled as they may be, they

  134. are by 1 Spirit, placed in that, placed in the bride of Christ,

  135. placed in the church, if you will.

  136. And so repentance and baptism alone, according to Scripture

  137. alone, does not achieve our placement in the body in and of

  138. themselves by themselves. It takes this trifecta of

  139. repentance and and and and baptism and the infilling of the

  140. Holy Ghost, and for that matter, faith and belief.

  141. Have we even looked at in other verses of Scripture in previous

  142. Sundays? John chapter #3 and verse 3 A

  143. man called Nicodemus, who was a part of the Sanhedrin court,

  144. Amen. Of the Jews came to Jesus by

  145. night. He had some questions.

  146. He was inquisitive about this born again experience as it

  147. would come to be or seeing and enter into the Kingdom of

  148. heaven. The Bible says in John 33, Jesus

  149. answered and said unto him, verily, verily, I say unto thee,

  150. except a man be born again. We, we touched on this just a

  151. little bit a few weeks ago, Speaking of Zion and the church

  152. and how those were born of several different notable

  153. places. But to be born of Zion, they're

  154. going to count. Those that have been born in

  155. Zion, he says must be born again.

  156. He cannot see the Kingdom of God, Nicodemus saith unto him.

  157. How can a man be born when he is old, right?

  158. He's thinking through the mindset of something very

  159. natural. Can he enter the second time

  160. into his mother's womb and be born?

  161. Valid question. Good question, Nicodemus.

  162. And Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except

  163. a man be born of water and of the Spirit.

  164. And so Jesus is further defining what being born again entails.

  165. He's elaborating on his phrase being born again and elaborating

  166. that this is born of water and of spirit.

  167. He says he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God.

  168. Well, every single one of us, I believe it would be the desire

  169. to enter into this Kingdom of God, to see heaven someday as,

  170. as Jesus even referred to, you cannot even see the Kingdom of

  171. heaven unless this happens. And so I, I want that.

  172. I want to be a part of that and some some may ask, you know,

  173. have you accepted Christ in your heart that I know that's a very

  174. popular question in our society today, but I believe the more

  175. correct question is this have you been born again?

  176. Have you been born again because they born again Christian is

  177. born according to the scriptures of water.

  178. That's baptism that we have looked at at other times,

  179. baptism by immersion in his name, Amen.

  180. And his name is Jesus Christ or the Lord Jesus Christ.

  181. And it is also being born of the Spirit, which is the the

  182. receiving of the gift of the Holy Ghost, which according to

  183. Scripture, we understand has a instantaneous sign or a

  184. revelation that that has taken place, which is speaking in

  185. other tongues as the Spirit that you just receive gives the

  186. utterance that's according to the word of God.

  187. And we'll talk more about that later.

  188. And so there is a a sense of repentance that is implied in

  189. Scripture anytime that it talks that we have been buried with

  190. him and baptism. There is a there is an inference

  191. or an implication that repentance has taken place

  192. because again, print repentance Mears his death.

  193. Baptism mirrors his burial. The infilling of the Holy Ghost

  194. mirrors his resurrection. If you've been buried, then

  195. you've died. So when we talk about that, it

  196. is implied that repentance has taken place.

  197. If you're going to be baptized in his name, we don't baptize

  198. anybody around here who has not repented, right?

  199. Because we're going to baptize that which was dead.

  200. They didn't put Jesus in the ground while there was breast

  201. still in his lungs. There was death.

  202. There was the cruel, the the cruel and the the agony of his

  203. flesh on the cross, Amen, that died.

  204. And when we repent, our flesh dies, right?

  205. We it's the mortification of the deeds of the flesh that happen,

  206. Amen, through the aspect of repentance.

  207. And so the Bible, whenever it talks about baptism and it's

  208. this is laid out in the book of Acts and then reaffirmed in the

  209. epistles, which were written to churches who were already saved

  210. already Christian people. The Bible talks about baptism

  211. that we are Speaking of baptized with the Holy Ghost or but the

  212. Spirit that were baptized with the Holy Ghost or baptized by

  213. the Holy Ghost or baptized in the Holy Ghost or baptized of

  214. the Holy Ghost. All those different words, you

  215. know change there, but it all basically means the exact same

  216. thing. We are baptized by the Spirit.

  217. All these terms are used. We're talked about being

  218. baptized with the Spirit, places are talked about being filled

  219. with the Spirit, received the Spirit, the Spirit fell on them,

  220. it came upon on them, it was poured out upon them.

  221. This is all one and the same experience that we're talking

  222. about today in the Scripture. Peter called the same

  223. experience, but the gift of the Holy Ghost and the baptism of

  224. the Holy Ghost Peter did in Acts Chapter 11 and verse 15.

    Acts 11 chapter mention

  225. The Bible states these words and as I began to speak, the Holy

  226. Ghost fell on them as on us at the beginning.

  227. He's referring back to Pentecost us at the beginning, verse 16.

  228. Then remember to I the word of the Lord, how that he said John

  229. indeed baptized with water, but ye shall be baptized with the

  230. Holy Ghost. Verse 17 for as much then as God

  231. gave them the like gift as he did unto us again he's

  232. referencing Pentecost who believed on the Lord Jesus

  233. Christ. What was I that I could

  234. withstand God. He's kind of going to bat here

  235. because the Holy Ghost had come upon the Gentiles just in the

  236. exact same way that it fell on the Jews the way that the Jews

  237. received the Holy Ghost and then with repentance and baptism in

  238. his name and speaking in tongues when they received it.

  239. The Gentiles just like it happened the first time on the

  240. day of Pentecost. It was happening to the Gentiles

  241. now, those people who the Jews kind of snubbed a little bit,

  242. all those are Gentile people, he said.

  243. The exact same thing happened to them that happened to us.

  244. They're just as much a part of the body and a part of the

  245. church now as we are part of the body in the church.

  246. Because there's only one way to become a part of it.

  247. And they've experienced, they've experienced the exact same thing

  248. as we did. Amen.

  249. Just like we did. Amen.

  250. And so you know, then he he, he put the two together about the

  251. Holy Ghost falling on them and speaking that John said, I,

  252. there's going to come one after me and whose shoes I'm not

  253. unable to unlatch. Who will baptize you with the

  254. Holy Ghost, right. It's a baptism of the Holy

  255. Ghost. It's a gift of the Holy Ghost.

  256. So we know in Scripture, we know throughout Scripture.

  257. We know in in the book of Peter, we know from the book of

  258. Leviticus. God said in the book of

  259. Leviticus, be therefore holy, for I am holy.

  260. Peter picks up on that, quotes it in the New Testament in his

  261. book and Peter and says, for the Lord said He is holy, therefore

  262. be holy, and so our God is holy. We know according to John 424,

  263. Amen. That whenever Jesus met the

  264. woman that was at the well of Samaria, Amen, He spoke to her

  265. and he said that God is a spirit.

  266. They that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in

  267. truth. We know from both Old and New

  268. Testaments that God is holy. We know according to the New

  269. Testament and other places that God is a spirit.

  270. We know according to Ephesians 4, four, that there is one Lord,

  271. 1 faith, one baptism, that there is also one spirit.

  272. When God and Father is above all in, on through you all, we know

  273. there's one Spirit. So if we know God is holy and we

  274. know God is spirit, and there's only one spirit, then we know

  275. unequivocally this morning that the Holy Spirit is God.

  276. We call it the Holy Spirit, the Holy Ghost.

  277. It is God. And so when you receive the Holy

  278. Ghost, when you receive that, you receive the spirit.

  279. Spirit of God is in you. God is operating in your life.

  280. He's came and made you his residence.

  281. The reason why the book Corinthians says, know ye not

  282. that ye are the temple of the Holy Ghost.

  283. You have become a dwelling place of God here in the earth.

  284. Amen. The Bible says in first

  285. Corinthians 3 and verse #17 If any man defile the temple of

  286. God, speaking about these bodies, him shall God destroy.

  287. For the temple of God, which are these bodies is holy.

  288. Which temple He states explicitly ye are.

  289. Again, I've referred to this First Corinthians 6 and verse

  290. 19. What know ye not that your body

  291. is the temple of the Holy Ghost, which is in you, which ye have a

  292. God and ye are not your own. We are again the temples of the

  293. Holy Ghost. We've looked at this before, but

  294. folks understand where the Tabernacle and the wilderness

  295. that was created by Moses. The design was God's, the

  296. information was God's, but whenever he finished the

  297. Tabernacle, the Bible says that the cloud came in and filled the

  298. house whenever Solomon made the temple.

  299. Amen. For the presence and spirit of

  300. God with all of its embellishments of gold and

  301. silver, nothing like it. The Bible says on dedication day

  302. when they put that of the covenant in its place, Amen.

  303. And everything was said and done that again, a cloud of the

  304. Spirit of the Lord filled the house.

  305. That cloud was denoted as the presence in the Spirit of God

  306. that was in His Tabernacle, that was in his temple.

  307. In the New Testament. You become what the Old

  308. Testament Tabernacle was. You become what the Old

  309. Testament temple of Solomon was, and God's Spirit wants to dwell

  310. in you, Amen. We're doing all right.

  311. Like the micro machine man up here right that dates me.

  312. Peter lets us know that the promise the Holy Ghost is for

  313. everyone. Someone say me.

  314. He said in verse #37 that it's verse #30.

  315. Nine rather that it's for you, it's for your children, all that

  316. are far off, as many as God calls.

  317. That tells me then, that the Holy Ghost wasn't just for the

  318. 1st century church. Holy Ghost is just not for the

  319. 1st century church. And that also tells me that it

  320. just wasn't for the. Jew, but even those that were

  321. afar off. If you read your Bibles in the

  322. book of Ephesians, what it begins to describe as those that

  323. were afar off were the Gentiles. They were far off.

  324. The Jews are those that are spoken of being near, the Bible

  325. says because of the blood of Christ Jesus, those who were

  326. once afar off. He's made nigh.

  327. Why? Because his blood and his work

  328. of Calvary made his spirit accessible to each and every

  329. individual, not just quote UN quote covenant people of Old

  330. Testament scripture, Jewish people made it accessible to

  331. all. And so he bare me my night by

  332. the blood of Jesus Christ. And so the call today has been

  333. extended. Amen To your children, your

  334. children's children, those that are far off.

  335. Can I tell you today the call has been extended to whosoever

  336. will. Whosoever will the Bible says in

  337. John chapter #7 and verse 37, It's at the last day of the

  338. feast. Jesus is standing there, and he

  339. speaks and shares some words in the last day.

  340. That great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying,

  341. If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink, And he that

  342. believeth on me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his

  343. belly shall flow rivers of living water.

  344. The parentheses gives us explanation in verse 39.

  345. But this fake key of the Spirit, what that living water that

  346. would come out of your life? He was talking about the Spirit.

  347. He was talking about the Holy Ghost, which they that believe

  348. on him, on Jesus should receive. For the Holy Ghost was not yet

  349. given because Jesus was not yet glorified, in other words.

  350. There was no disbursement of the Holy Ghost up on mankind of it

  351. living inside of them, because Christ had not yet here in the

  352. book of John, He has not been yet crucified.

  353. He's not went to the grave and he's not resurrected, but he's

  354. speaking to the unprophetically of what shall happen.

  355. Hey, man, he's saying if you're thirsty, you can come to me.

  356. And after glorification, which was His death, burial,

  357. resurrection, and ultimately ascension, after all that takes

  358. place, you shall have a river of living water coming for from

  359. you, Amen. And it will be the power of the

  360. Holy Ghost, Amen. But notice he says if you thirst

  361. coming to me, that's the call Revelation 22 and verse 17.

  362. The Bible says in the Spirit and the Bride say come and let him

  363. that here say come and let him that is a thirst come again this

  364. thirsty symbolism and whosoever will let him take of the water

  365. of life freely. We're we're at the closing

  366. chapter of the book of the Bible of the entirety of all this

  367. explanation of revelation of the apocalypse and things that are

  368. to come and yet to take place. And he saying the spirit, the

  369. bride's making the invitation, the spirit and the bride is

  370. making it. The spirit is the church is

  371. they're echoing it. There's invitation.

  372. And the invitation is this. If you're thirsty for something

  373. beyond what you've experienced thus far, if you are thirst, if

  374. you've tried everything else and there's still a longing of a

  375. thirst in your life, He says come, if you're thirsty, come.

  376. Whosoever will let him come. What is that?

  377. That's a call and an invitation that doesn't just hit the Jew,

  378. the Gentile, the Samaritan, that hits every woman, boy, girl,

  379. national for be raised whosoever will let him come.

  380. In other words, you have been invited.

  381. You've been invited. The Holy Ghost was not given

  382. until Jesus was glorified again, His death, burial, resurrection,

  383. His ascension. The Bible says in Hebrews 9 and

  384. verse #15 for this 'cause He is the mediator.

  385. Of the New Testament Speaking of Christ Jesus that by.

  386. Means of death. For the redemption of the

  387. transgressions that were under the First Testament or First

  388. covenant, they which are called might receive the promise of.

  389. An eternal, eternal inheritance. For where a testament is, there

  390. must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

  391. Verse 17 For a testament is a force after men are dead,

  392. otherwise it is in no strength at all while the testator liveth

  393. the testament or the covenant, the contract, if I could even

  394. say it like this. The will, many of you sitting

  395. here today may already have wheels and estates and things

  396. that set in writing, but that holds no power until you die

  397. upon death. Upon death, the will or the

  398. words in the construct of the covenant comes into play.

  399. Jesus made a promise, a covenant, a will with people,

  400. but as long as the testator is alive, it has no impact.

  401. He though died and upon his death the wheel comes into

  402. force. Hallelujah when the the testator

  403. dies. Here is the peculiar situation

  404. concerning Jesus. He didn't stay dead, but he had

  405. to die in order for the enforcement.

  406. He had to die in order for the enforcement of the contract, for

  407. the enforcement of the covenant, for the enforcement of the

  408. Testament. He had to go through all of that

  409. for the Holy Ghost Spirit. And filling would be possible

  410. for hey, man, it's no, no effect unless the testator dies.

  411. And he says if this happens, then the promise will be a

  412. eternal inheritance that is sitting there in waiting just

  413. for the testator to die. There's an eternal inheritance,

  414. Amen, that will come to those that meet the qualifications of

  415. the will someone say Amen. So the Holy Ghost, that promise

  416. we see in Scripture was not given until Jesus was glorified.

  417. And his glorification, all it followed, His humiliation.

  418. Everything that he went through concerning the cross, Isaiah

  419. talked about it that we read in Scripture in Acts chapter #8 I

  420. believe it is whenever Philip goes, sees the eunuch and he's

  421. reading in Scripture concerning Isaiah and he talks about in his

  422. humiliation, Amen. Well, well, that's where it

  423. reads in Scripture. But his humiliation was really a

  424. glorification, Amen. For all those that would be

  425. involved. The Bible says in John 14 and

  426. verse 16, this is Jesus speaking.

  427. Jesus speaking, He says I will pray the Father that he shall

  428. give you another comforter, that He may abide with you forever.

  429. Jesus as a man to it that God was in Christ, said Corinthians

  430. 5. But Jesus is both a human nature

  431. and a divine nature, right? Human nature, divine nature,

  432. human nature. He comes to the Samaritan woman,

  433. the well. He's worried with his journey

  434. and he's a thirst. Human nature, He's on the boat,

  435. he's sleeping on a pillow. Human nature, he's hungered when

  436. he's fasted 40 days, divine nature.

  437. He steps to foot on the same boat and causes the wind and the

  438. sea to cease. Divine nature.

  439. He stands out of grave and says, Lazarus, come forth.

  440. There's a human nature side to him, but there's also a divine

  441. nature side to him. Jesus as a man in his humanity

  442. had a prescribed number of years upon this thing we call earth.

  443. He had his 33 1/2 or so years that He had upon this thing we

  444. call earth. Hey man, but the Spirit, the

  445. Spirit, God, Spirit of that man Christ Jesus, was eternal.

  446. Hey man, there is no such thing. Read your Bible, look at it

  447. through and through. There is no such thing as the

  448. Eternal Son, but there is such a thing as the Eternal Spirit

  449. because the flesh human side of Jesus had a beginning in

  450. Bethlehems Manger as a human being, and it fell off of the

  451. earth a man whenever it died and resurrected.

  452. But the spirit of that man does not have a beginning, nor does

  453. it have an ending. When you are filled with the

  454. baptism of the Holy Ghost, you are filled with a eternal

  455. spirit. It cannot be extinguished

  456. because it does not have a beginning and there is no ending

  457. to it. It is power.

  458. It is someone say Amen, Hallelujah, and so the aspect of

  459. Jesus. Yeah, He was always in the mind

  460. and the will of God from the very beginning that that would

  461. be his purpose. That would be his plan upon this

  462. earth in the sense of eternity. It was always in the thought

  463. processes, Amen. And the plan of God that this

  464. would happen from Bethlehem and this would happen at Calvary and

  465. all of these things. But that's the only eternity of

  466. Jesus we have, not in bodily form, but in concept the bodily

  467. form about 33 1/2 years upon the earth as you and I are.

  468. Bible says John 14 verse 26. But the comforter says I should

    John 14:26

  469. give you another comforter that may Bible for you forever.

  470. But the Comforter, which in it describes what this Comforter

  471. is, which is the Holy Ghost, or the Holy Spirit, or the gift of

  472. the Spirit, or the gift of God, you can throw all the other

  473. things around there, whom the Father will send in my name,

  474. which it did all right. He shall teach you all things,

  475. and bring all things to your remembrance, and whatsoever have

  476. and whatsoever I have said unto you, look at it again.

  477. Look into the Comforter John chapter 15 and verse 26.

    John 15 chapter mention

  478. But when the. Comforter, which we know is the

  479. Holy Ghost according to the Scripture, is come whom I will

  480. send unto you from the Father. Here's another another

  481. description of it. Even the Spirit of truth.

  482. So the Holy Ghost is the Spirit of truth.

  483. The Holy Ghost is the Comforter which proceeded from the Father.

  484. He shall testify important, someone say important.

  485. He says the comforter, which we know to be the Holy Ghost

  486. according to John chapter #14 the Spirit of truth.

  487. He's telling us that when he sends that, that he, that spirit

  488. of truth, that Holy Ghost shall testify.

  489. He's going to be like something that's giving evidence and

  490. utterance on the trial. The Spirit will testify.

  491. The Spirit will produce evidence.

  492. He says it shall testify of me. Someone say Amen.

  493. It well, I'm just feeling like a circus inside right now.

  494. I'm telling you right now, it's all five rings going.

  495. It shall testify of me, folks, just what we're talking about.

  496. We'll talk about a little bit more later, but whenever you.

  497. Receive the gift of the Holy Ghost whenever you receive the

  498. Spirit of God, this comforter, this Holy Ghost that's being

  499. spoken of here in John, it's going to testify and its first

  500. testimony will be speaking in of their tongues as the Spirit

  501. gives entrance it is producing evidence of.

  502. Him he said, It shall testify of me.

  503. John 16 and verse 7. Nevertheless, I tell you the

  504. truth, it is expedient for you that I go away.

  505. This is Jesus speaking for if I go not away.

  506. The Comforter will not come unto you, but if I depart, I will

  507. send him unto you. Now we understand Jesus Christ

  508. is here in flesh and blood, right to it, to it, that God was

  509. in Christ, that Spirit was in Christ.

  510. But Christ is going to die. He's going to resurrect and he's

  511. going to ascend into the heavens.

  512. But the Spirit of Christ or the Spirit of God, one and the same

  513. would be sent back to His people on the day of Pentecost.

  514. And that continues from Pentecost till now till He comes

  515. back for His people. Now I know everybody wants to

  516. bring up Luke 1. Everybody wants to bring up, you

  517. know, the three different scenarios where the Bible speaks

  518. that John the Baptist says, says that the John the Baptist from

  519. his womb had the Holy Ghost, Sir, that Elizabeth upon the

  520. salutation of Mary, that that Zacharias upon even the naming

  521. of his Son, that these different things are all spoken as being

  522. filled with the Holy Ghost in Scripture, in Luke chapter #1

  523. John the Baptist again, Elizabeth at the salutation of

  524. Mary Zacharias upon name of the Son have received the gift of

  525. received or have been filled as the words, as the language

  526. filled with the Holy Ghost again, what did John 7 tell us?

  527. He says this. He spoke of the Holy Ghost but

  528. had not been given because the Lord had not been crucified, so

  529. that it couldn't take place until this had happened.

  530. So being filled with the Holy Ghost in this instance of John

  531. or Luke chapter #1 cannot be the same sense as we talk about

  532. being filled with the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost and the

  533. subsequent verses and chapters that happened thereafter because

  534. death, burial, resurrection has not taken place yet in Luke 1.

  535. If that was the case, there'd be a contradiction with John

  536. chapter #7 of what Jesus said himself in John chapter #16 but

  537. they were filled in the sense that even people in the Old

  538. Testament were moved upon by the Holy Ghost.

  539. The Bible says that the Spirit moved upon Samson, and he did

  540. some tremendous exploits. He wasn't, he wasn't embodied

  541. with the Spirit, but the Spirit moved upon him and empowered him

  542. to do some things. When you read in the book of

  543. Ephesians that the Bible talks about being not drunk with wine,

  544. wherein wherein is excess, but be filled with the spirit.

  545. When you look up at that word and the same word that's used in

  546. Luke, it means to be controlled. So you can be controlled by the

  547. Spirit of God without being filled with the spirit of.

  548. God, people of old were moved upon by the Spirit.

  549. And so when we speak of John the Baptist and Elizabeth and

  550. Zacharias, all these haven't been filled.

  551. The Holy Ghost before death, buried, resurrection, they were

  552. being moved upon and controlled to a certain degree, Amen, by

  553. the power of the Spirit. But after the death, burial and

  554. resurrection of Jesus Christ in the, in the ascension, people

  555. then that were filled by the Spirit were actually embodied by

  556. the Spirit of the Lord and yes, still controlled by the Spirit

  557. of the Lord. But it's in that that he wasn't

  558. just with them, but he was in them.

  559. He makes, he makes the distinction in John chapter 14

    John 14 chapter mention

  560. and verse #17 He says even the spirit of truth.

  561. What do we know already? The spirit of truth is the

  562. Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost.

  563. We're all talking about the same thing.

  564. Even the spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive because

  565. it seeth him not neither know of him, but ye know him, for he

  566. dwelleth with you. How?

  567. How is that Spirit dwelling with them by virtue of Jesus Christ

  568. in flesh and blood, that the Spirit in dwelt, Huh.

  569. He's with them by that. But when Christ is away, how,

  570. how in the world is this going to happen?

  571. He says, for he dwelleth with you, but shall be in you.

  572. All right, you're going to experience a mode of the spirit

  573. during Jesus earthly ministry and before that is in a certain

  574. category, but after the dead, burial, resurrection and

  575. ascension and then you're going to experience it in a whole new

  576. fashion and way. It's not just going to be with

  577. you, outside of you, alongside of you.

  578. No, no, no, no, it's going to be in someone say Amen in you and

  579. it will if you will allow yourself to live in such a way,

  580. it will abide for never for that Mary for that matter.

  581. When are we talking about Mary and all this stuff?

  582. Mary was in the upper room on the day of Pentecost.

  583. Mary was in that seven day that or 10 day prayer meeting.

  584. Amen. That was leading up to the

  585. promise of the Father. Really.

  586. You remember he told his disciples go tarry him to

  587. Jerusalem, huh? You're going to be in due a

  588. power from on high. I'm sending the promise of my

  589. Father there, and Mary's found among that group that's sitting

  590. up there on the day of Pentecost.

  591. It would not have been necessary for Mary to been there had she

  592. already experienced salvation. It would not have been important

  593. for her to be there if she already experienced this.

  594. But she couldn't experience it till her son died and was buried

  595. and resurrected and ascended. Mary needed the Holy Ghost, some

  596. of his own brothers. Yeah, all of them.

  597. Who cares? I don't care if Jesus was your

  598. relative or not. If you have not the spirit of

  599. Christ, you're none of his. That's Romans 8.

  600. That's blunt, but it's quite understandable.

  601. The chapter 24 and verse 49 the Bible says Jesus speaking and

  602. behold I send the promise. Look at this, this is again

  603. prior to ascension. And behold, I send the promise

  604. of my Father upon you, but carry in Jerusalem until you be endued

  605. with. Power from on high look Acts one

  606. and four, and being assembled together with them, commanded

  607. them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the

  608. promise of the Father. Again, other terminology.

  609. Call it spirit of. True.

  610. Call it the Holy Ghost, Call it Comforter, call it the promise

  611. of the Father, All the same thing which he which which saith

  612. he, ye have heard of me. Acts 2, verse 33.

    Acts 2:33

  613. I told you I had a thought. I said I had a lot.

  614. I'm not lying, not a lying preacher today.

  615. Amen. Verse 33 of Acts 2.

  616. Therefore, being by the right hand of God exalted, and having

  617. received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, He

  618. has shed forth this the Holy Ghost, which ye now see and

  619. hear. Get away here, because this is

  620. Acts 233 all right, because we have Acts two and one.

  621. Suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as a relishing might

  622. even win, and it fell, blown all the house where they were

  623. sitting. And then you begin to speak in

  624. other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

  625. And that's when some are amazed and some are mocking.

  626. And there's like this, this conflicting of emotion of

  627. different people about what's being noised abroad from the

  628. upper room. And it got, you know, the

  629. attention of some. And some are saying, oh, they're

  630. a bunch of drunks out there. And that's when Peter stands up,

  631. said, no, they're not drunk as you suppose, being just but the

  632. third hour of the day. But this is that which was

  633. spoken by the prophet Joel in the last days.

  634. I will pour out of my spirit upon all flesh, and your sons

  635. and your daughters shall prophecy.

  636. What is the prophecy? It's the testimony.

  637. That the Spirit. Empowers.

  638. So they're they're they're. Going to speak and so all of

  639. this has taken place. So when we get to verse #33 he's

  640. saying, hey, this is what's happened.

  641. This is the Holy Ghost. This is the promise of the

  642. Father. This is the Holy Ghost that's

  643. taken place. He have he have shed forth the

  644. Holy Ghost. Note now, though, which ye the

  645. Holy Ghost, You, you, you, you. See that this Holy Ghost you now

  646. see in it and hearing. This promise of the Father you

  647. are now seen and hearing the new living translation says it like

  648. this as he had. Promised gave him the Holy Ghost

  649. to pour out upon us, just as you see and hear today.

  650. God's word translation states it like this and has poured out the

  651. Holy Spirit as the Father of promise.

  652. And this is what you're seeing and hearing someone say Amen in

  653. the book of John, as Jesus was talking about the comforter, the

  654. Spirit of truth, the Holy Ghost, all these things that we know to

  655. be the same. In that context of speaking

  656. about the Holy Ghost, he said in John 1418, he said, I will not

  657. leave you comfortless, I will come to you.

  658. He was there for years in bodily form, but he said, I'm returning

  659. to you in spirit form and I will be not just with you, but will

  660. be in you. So God promises His Spirit to

  661. all them who ask, believe and obey.

  662. Luke 1113 says, How much more shall your heavenly Father give

  663. the Holy Spirit to them to ask of him?

  664. This is said in the context of saying if, if, if your son would

  665. ask for for bread, would you give him this?

  666. Or would if he asked for this, would you give him that?

  667. He said if, if a good father would give such gifts to his

  668. children and not give him something totally contrary to

  669. what he asked, how much more shall your heavenly Father give

  670. you some things? And so in that context, he says,

  671. then how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy

  672. Spirit to them that. Ask.

  673. Him but then we also understand that there must believe John 739

  674. that spoke to us, but this big key of the spirit which they

  675. that believe on him should receive, but there is also a.

  676. Facet of obedience in Acts 5 and verse 32.

  677. The Bible says so is the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to

  678. them that obey him, ask, believe, obedience.

  679. His word and asking and believing and obeying

  680. particularly the gospel of appropriating in our lives the

  681. death and the burial and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

  682. In obedience to my opening text today of then Peter said unto

  683. them, What must we do here? He says, this is what must be

  684. done. And I say this all the time and

  685. I'll say it till I die, but what you do with your repentance and

  686. allowing someone to put you in water, the name of Jesus, all of

  687. those things has no power or credit if Christ didn't do what

  688. he did. So that just proves your work by

  689. itself is incapable. It's His work that empowers your

  690. obedience. It's his work that empowers your

  691. obedience. Just as he admonished Nicodemus

  692. the same about doing OK, we're on this pony.

  693. Someone put it in a too many quarters and I'm just riding it.

  694. This is important. Acts 8 and verse #9 not Acts but

  695. Romans 8-9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit.

  696. If so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.

  697. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of

  698. his. So then, brother McGee, how do I

  699. know if I have the Spirit of God?

  700. First John 3 verse 23 and 24 says these words.

    1 John 3:23

  701. First John. That's not just Saint John, but

  702. first John three. And this is His commandment,

  703. that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ,

  704. and love one another as He gave us commandment.

  705. Verse 24 And he that keepeth His commandments dwell in him, and

  706. He in Him. And hereby we know that He

  707. abideth in US. He's about ready to tell us.

  708. Hereby we know that He abideth in us by the Spirit which He

  709. hath given us. Because I know He abides in me

  710. because of the Spirit that He has given me.

  711. Ask you a question. How do you know the moment that

  712. you've been given His Spirit? How do you know the moment that

  713. he has given you the gift of his spirit or the Holy Ghost?

  714. That is undeniable, unquestionable.

  715. Why you say that, Brother McGee? Because I read a lot of books,

  716. all right? I read about 50 books a year

  717. easy OK of all type shades and things.

  718. I read so many different books of different people sitting in

  719. different atmospheres across the world that tell me.

  720. They say that they were filled with the spirit and then in the

  721. same sentence or paragraph they talk about all the doubts and

  722. they're not really knowing if they were filled with the

  723. spirit. I have read it hundreds of

  724. times. But the Bible doesn't want you

  725. to leave. An experience of having been

  726. filled with the Spirit of God, with a question mark in your

  727. mind. God's so very explicit in many

  728. things he says. We know that he abideth in us by

  729. the Spirit which he hath given us.

  730. And there's got to be something. There's got to be something more

  731. than just good moral deeds that manifest as time go on.

  732. All right? I mean, in Acts chapter 19, the

    Acts 19 chapter mention

  733. Bible records that Cornelius was a devout man.

  734. He feared God. Scripture says he even offered

  735. prayers. Yes, alms, my wife's going to

  736. get up here and take over here. But he still needed filled the

  737. gift of the Spirit. He still needed it just like the

  738. Jews had got it. That same like precious gift in

  739. the same like precious way of Acts chapter #2 I'm not going

  740. to, I'm not going to argue with you that whenever we start

  741. seeing the gifts. Or rather, the fruits of the

  742. spirit that Galatians 5 speaks up because those fruits.

  743. Belong to the Spirit. I'm not going to qualm with you

  744. that there won't be this, this noticeable Lovejoy, peace,

  745. gentleness, goodness, so and so forth.

  746. But the way I've learned in my life, those are things that you

  747. mature into. There's a lot of there's a many

  748. a person that just in the moment, it's not like there's a

  749. gentle act that happens as soon as they receive the spirit that

  750. just gives indicate. And I'm not trying to be

  751. condescending here, but there is a testimony as we've already

  752. looked at. There is one.

  753. There's a testifying that we have received him according to

  754. scripture. There is a evidence.

  755. It's that evidence that was born in the Scripture and was

  756. repeated through the book of Acts.

  757. When you see people receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, Amen.

  758. Someone say glory. I'm checking time.

  759. See, I told you folks, and I've been talking fast.

  760. Acts two and four, I try not to skip much, but I'll skip a

  761. little. And they were filled.

  762. They were all filled with the Holy Ghost.

  763. Everybody say the Holy Ghost, and they were all filled with

  764. the Holy Ghost. This is Pentecost and began to

  765. speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave the utterance.

  766. What is happening there? They note that He abides in them

  767. because the Spirit Spirit by which the Spirit he gave them

  768. the Spirit testified. The Spirit testified in Acts 10.

  769. The Jews knew that the Gentiles had received the Holy Ghost

  770. Cornelius his household. The Bible says in verse 46 of

  771. that chapter for they heard them speak with tongues and magnify

  772. God again. Why do you think in?

  773. Acts 230. Three, it says, Speaking of the

  774. Holy Ghost that we do see in here.

  775. What was it that they heard concerning the Holy Ghost?

  776. What is it? The disciples of John and the

  777. Ephesus of of Acts chapter #19 were re baptized.

  778. The scripture says they'd only been baptized according to the

  779. baptism of John, which was unto repentance only and they were

  780. baptized The scripture says in Jesus name and it follows up in

  781. verse six and says and they spake with tongues said have you

  782. received the Holy Ghost since you you believed said we not we

  783. didn't know there was such a Holy Ghost.

  784. Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed?

  785. So they believed, and even at the point of belief they hadn't

  786. had the Holy Ghost. Because the question was, had

  787. you received since ye built Saul's conversion?

  788. Acts Chapter 9, he was also filled with the Holy Ghost, but

    Acts 9 chapter mention

  789. the scripture, it seems to be silent about him speaking in

  790. tongues. Also in Acts chapter #8 the

  791. Samaritans received the Holy Ghost, but again, it seems to be

  792. silent there about them speaking in tongues.

  793. But it's later in the book of Corinthians, which Paul is the

  794. author of, that he talks and speaks.

  795. He says I speak in tongues more than y'all.

  796. He says I do Amen. And something was signified,

  797. evidently the Simon the Sorcerer in Acts chapter #8 concerning

  798. the Samaritans that received the Holy Ghost.

  799. Because when the Samaritans received the Holy Ghost, you

  800. know what Simon Says? He says, what can I give you to

  801. purchase this, to buy this power?

  802. If it was just something that was just totally oblivious to

  803. every anybody else and just that person knew, what was it that

  804. Simon picked up on in the moment to want to buy it in order to be

  805. able to transfer? That power, he thought.

  806. I conveyed to you this morning by simple deduction that there

  807. was a testimony and Simon's like, I want to be a part of

  808. this. It's evident that the Samaritans

  809. there in Acts didn't have the Holy Ghost prior to this moment

  810. because the Bible says a couple of the disciples of Peter and

  811. John were sent down. To pray for them that they might

  812. receive the Holy Ghost listen and at this stage prior to

  813. receiving the Holy Ghost they had joy they.

  814. Experienced the sense of joy they had belief they've been

  815. baptized, but they still needed the Spirit.

  816. They still needed the Spirit. And so though tongues are not

  817. mentioned in those two episodes of of Saul's conversion and the

  818. Samaritans again, again, it's implicitly understood.

  819. Paul said later, I speak in tongues more than ye all.

  820. Amen. Because what is what, what what

  821. what had been, what had been conveyed already with Pentecost

  822. and all the other stories from Acts 2 till Acts 9 is the

  823. process that people repent. They're baptized and they

  824. receive the Holy Ghost. They've repent, they baptized

  825. and receive the Holy Ghost. They repent, they baptized the

  826. Holy Ghost. The promise even is ye shall

  827. receive the gift, the Holy Ghost.

  828. So you know what happens when you set up that type of

  829. platform. You can read of repentance or

  830. read of baptism and you know without doubt then you don't get

  831. the Holy Ghost. They're going to be filled with

  832. the Spirit of God. Amen.

  833. Someone say Amen. So in Acts 19, it proves to us

  834. that the giving of the Holy Ghost and speak in tongues.

  835. This whole little bit there was again not just a happening for

  836. the Jews, the Gentile and the Samaritan people as well in Acts

  837. chapter #8 that took place there, but even in Acts 19, here

  838. are the people of Ephesus that are also receiving the gift of

  839. the Holy Ghost. So this is not this again is not

  840. a one time thing. This is repeatable.

  841. This is repeatable. Amen.

  842. Pastor David Bernard in his book The New Birth says tongues in

  843. and of themselves do not save. Tongues in and of themselves do

  844. not save. Nevertheless, the relationship

  845. between Spirit baptism and tongues is similar to that of

  846. faith and works. We're saved by faith, not works.

  847. It works always accompany genuine faith and likewise

  848. tongues cannot save us. But the Spirit baptism produces

  849. is an accompanied always by the sign of tongues.

  850. Johnny James used to say this. You go get a pair of shoes.

  851. He said you're going to go get the shoe.

  852. You don't have to say can I have a pair of shoes and the tongue,

  853. He says the tongue comes with the shoe.

  854. He said unless you get a shoe without a tongue and that's

  855. called a loafer. And that just means you're not

  856. going. Tongues are not the Holy Ghost,

  857. but tongues are the byproduct, the evidence of having the Holy

  858. Ghost. The Spirit gives the utterance.

  859. They could not utter that had they not the Spirit, Amen.

  860. It happens and the Bible says this.

  861. You can speak with tongues of angels or of men.

  862. You may speak a language that's known in another place of this

  863. world, or you may be speaking a language that is the tongues of

  864. angels that is not even known upon this world.

  865. But there have been too many accounts with friends and people

  866. I rub shoulders with in other places, Amen.

  867. That whenever someone receives the Holy Ghost, they went over,

  868. somebody says, does that person know Hebrew?

  869. Said they don't know Hebrew. He says, well, I'm a Hebrew

  870. scholar said what are they saying glory to God bless.

  871. It is the one Jesus Christ and this is being spoken in Hebrew

  872. and this person don't know Hebrew.

  873. What's the deal? Is that some phenomenon the

  874. waters kind of yell off there No, that's Christ in you, the

  875. hope of glory. That's the Spirit hereby do I

  876. know that He abides in me because of the spirit that I

  877. receive. It's going to testify.

  878. Amen. Spirit gives the evidence.

  879. Jesus said in John that the spirit of truth being the

  880. Comforter or the Holy Ghost would testify, give evidence.

  881. Jesus told Nicodemus, he says, here's what I know, Nicodemus,

  882. the wind, blow it where it listeth.

  883. And thou hearest the sound there.

  884. Thou hearest the sound. Thou hearest the sound.

  885. Thereof, so is everybody, say everyone.

  886. He did not say just the Jews or the Gentiles or just that person

  887. or this person or that. He said everyone.

  888. So is everyone that is born of the Spirit.

  889. If they've been born in the Spirit, they received the Holy

  890. Ghost. If they have the Spirit of God,

  891. this is what happens. It's a wind, winds blowing.

  892. I don't see the wind. I see the effects of the wind.

  893. I can hear the sound of the wind.

  894. He says so is everyone that is born in the Spirit.

  895. When you receive the gift the Holy Ghost, there will be a

  896. sound. It'll be that testimony.

  897. Furthermore, Paul in writing to the church at Rome said Romans

  898. 816 I know your stand brother makes it out on what I'm doing,

  899. but we're doing it. Amen.

  900. The Spirit, the Holy Ghost itself beareth witness the

  901. spirit it says itself beareth witness with our spirit.

  902. This is important verse that we are the children of God.

  903. How do I know? Because the spirit capital S

  904. bears witness with our spirit, little S human spirit that we

  905. are the children of God. Working in tandem is his spirit

  906. with our spirit. Working in tandem is his spirit

  907. with our spirit. His spirit bears witness

  908. testimony. He uses my mouth, my tongue, but

  909. his spirit will give the utterance.

  910. He'll use he, he's going to use the appendages of Paul McGee,

  911. these, these members of my mouth.

  912. James said. That tongue which no man can

  913. tame, it's set on fire of hell. No one can tame it.

  914. You can put bridles on horses and put a rudder on a ship, but

  915. no one can tame this tongue. But whenever God fills you with

  916. His Spirit, it indicates full control of Him and your full

  917. surrender that He could take that member no man contain and

  918. have you speak something. You've never learned.

  919. Everybody doing OK? I mean, should I just go real

  920. long right now and we'll just cancel tonight?

  921. What what are we looking at here?

  922. I'm just wondering where we Amen.

  923. So that Holy Ghost itself bears bears witness.

  924. It testifies jointly. It corroborates by concurrent

  925. evidence that with our human spirit that we are the children

  926. of God. So I know that he abides in me,

  927. and that I am a child of God, having been adopted by that one

  928. spirit according to Scripture, the spirit of adoption, because

  929. his spirit dwells in me. And I know it dwells in me

  930. because that spirit I received testifies and gives evidence and

  931. utterance by working in conjunction with this human

  932. spirit that I have using my brain, my mouth, my tongue, my

  933. voice box, my lips, but speaking in tongues, a product then of

  934. His spirit. Stand for me today and I'll

  935. close. Historically, I have went long

  936. talking about the Holy Ghost and it shall ever be.

  937. We know the Bible says that we have been sealed with that Holy

  938. Spirit of promise according to Ephesians, and that that is the

  939. earnest of our inheritance. What the Bible says, we know

  940. we've been sealed with the Holy Ghost and that holy when you

  941. receive the Holy Ghost, so that's the earnest of your

  942. inheritance. How many ever put down earnest

  943. money on a house, right? It's like that good faith

  944. payment that there's more to come.

  945. The Holy Ghost is just the indication that this is just the

  946. tip of the iceberg. There is a inheritance, Amen,

  947. that is to come that even surpasses what you experience

  948. right now in this earthly dwelling.

  949. It's just, if I could say it like this, just a little piece

  950. of heaven. Huh.

  951. If the Bible speaks of it being the unspeakable gift or the

  952. indescribable gift, it says it is joy, unspeakable and full of

  953. glory. And that spirit that we receive,

  954. the scripture says, gives us power to witness about what?

  955. How what Christ did for me, he can do for you what he brought

  956. me out of He can bring you out of the same or even something

  957. even better. It empowers us.

  958. Amen. To mortify the deeds of our

  959. flesh. It was given to us for that

  960. purpose and that plan it supplies.

  961. That spirit that you receive supplies resurrection power in

  962. your life. That same spirit that raised

  963. Christ from the dead, If it dwell in you, it will quicken

  964. your mortal body, and it can change this mortal to

  965. immortality, this corruptible to incorruptible.

  966. Amen. We want the Spirit on Rapture

  967. day, the gift of the Holy Ghost. It will cause that change.

  968. And for that matter, say what you will, I have been.

  969. God has blessed me to serve in the capacity to preach across

  970. this nation, and every episode when someone's received the gift

  971. of the Holy Ghost, I've heard them speak in tongues.

  972. A reoccurrence of Pentecost. I mean, from children to middle

  973. age to elders, from from Virginia to California to

  974. Hawaii, it's still happening. It's still taking place.

  975. I've seen it take place for the Polynesian people.

  976. Over and there in Hawaii, I've seen it take place for the

  977. Spanish people. For the Caucasian.

  978. Born of 1 spirit into one body. The gift of the Spirit.

  979. And if you don't have the gift of the Holy Ghost today, it's

  980. for you. It's for you, absolutely.

  981. I know sometimes within ourselves we might struggle with

  982. insufficiencies in our own mind why we are not deserving of

  983. that. That's not for you to decide.

  984. That was for him to decide and he's already made his choice.

  985. It's for you. He's already made his choice.

  986. You don't have this application you fill out and all the

  987. qualifiers. No, he's already made the

  988. choice. It's for you.

  989. You don't have to start. You don't have to start.

  990. Well, This is why. No, it can't, not for me.

  991. You don't need that. It's already been the decision

  992. has been made. It's for you.

  993. If you've never repented of your sins, I implore you to repent.

  994. I implore you to do that about face that turning around from

  995. what you've known to you know, we walk most of our lives.

  996. We're born in this Adamic nature of sin and we walk these lives

  997. really with our back to God. But when we repeat, we turn

  998. toward him and turn our back then on everything else, the

  999. world. It is that change of mind, that

1000. change of behavior. If you've never been baptized

1001. this morning we got God. We'll baptize you.

1002. We will immerse you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the

1003. remission of your sins, repentance, and.

1004. And baptism do that, and ye. Shall receive the gift of the

1005. Holy Ghost some people We've had people receive the Holy Ghost

1006. before they were ever. Baptized.

1007. Sister Kathy Coates, we took her up her, I took her up there one

1008. Sunday to get baptized and she's stumbling around in the water

1009. and hands are raised and she started speaking in tongues

1010. before we baptized her. I've seen other people get it,

1011. the Holy Ghost coming up out of the water and then we have like

1012. some of the Ravens and stuff. But the Adams family got the

1013. Holy Ghost at home. It's for you.

1014. It's never too late. We was preaching in Knoxville,

1015. TN a few years ago on a it was a New Year's Eve service and the

1016. lady there that moment they were doing broadcast.

1017. I did the broadcast that morning.

1018. It was usually about 15 minutes. This sermon wouldn't fit in

1019. there. We'd have to shave it down big

1020. time. So I preached about 15 minutes.

1021. We had an altar called and there was a lady that had been without

1022. the Holy Ghost for some 40 some odd years.

1023. She received the Holy Ghost that morning.

1024. It can happen. And I know there might be stuff

1025. here and here and maybe sometimes the clouds and blocks

1026. waves and but if you just surrendered that all with

  1027. abandoned. He wants it's it's not he's not

1028. trying to be. He's not being choosy.

1029. He wants you to have it. Whosoever will, it'll be that

1030. river of living water. And we live on this side of

1031. Calvary. So we're not waiting.

  1032. It's available. It's not a promise that he's

1033. Speaking of that shall come. It's Cain.

1034. Can we lift our hands in this place?

1035. These altars are open if anybody desires to pray.

1036. I feel, I feel his spirit here today.

1037. Oh Jesus, oh God, oh Jesus, not by power nor by might, but by

1038. your spirit, saith the Lord, by your spirit saith the Lord.

1039. Hallelujah. Say, Brother McGee, I just don't

1040. know about everything you said this morning.

1041. That's OK. And I know I was going quick.

1042. Listen to it again and again, pause if you will, the podcast

1043. and go to the Scriptures that I mentioned.

1044. There are several there mentioned and those are just

1045. really samplings. There's so much more even than

1046. those. But go back, open your Bible,

1047. look, look, cross, cross back and forth and let Scripture

1048. interpret Scripture and see for yourself today.

1049. Listen, I'm not up here condemning anybody this morning.

1050. I hope you didn't take me as that.

1051. I'm not here at condemning, but I'm just here showing you what

1052. the Scripture says, what the Scripture says about being born

1053. in the water and specifically today, the gift of the Spirit.

  1054. Hallelujah, Jesus, Whosoever will.

1055. Are you thirsty? Do you want something beyond

1056. what you presently have? Whosoever will today, Brother

1057. Mason I. Thank you for listening.
