Welcome to the first Apostolic Church podcast.
-
Our church mission is to love as God loves, showing compassion
-
every soul, thus winning those souls and equipping them to be
-
sent out to plant and to harvest.
-
Thank you for joining us today and we hope that you are blessed
-
by today's podcast. Never fail.
-
Amen. You return to your seats tonight
-
you so desire. Amen.
-
Please remember that this coming Sunday is our Mother's Day talk
-
show. Amen in the AMAM only.
-
There will be no evening service this coming Sunday.
-
We have also some students here part of the church that are
-
graduating on Saturday Amen as well be taking place.
-
Also, if you plan to help and volunteer get food to our
-
firefighters within our community on the 13th, which is
-
next Monday, see Sister Angie Cruz and she can help direct you
-
concerning that. Also on Friday, May the 17th is
-
mobile food distribution that'll be taking place here at the
-
church. All right.
-
And then kind of partnering with tri-state Food Bank.
-
And so it's slated for 12:00 to 2:00, but I of course know that
-
we it's can go beyond that as well.
-
Amen. And so just be mindful of that.
-
Hallelujah. So those are just a few of the
-
things that's going on. Amen.
-
We're going to turn to the book of Genesis here tonight.
-
Amen. Genesis chapter #8 And we're
-
going to read a few verses of Scripture here tonight.
-
We left off with verse #14 We'll pick back up with that here this
-
evening. Genesis chapter #8 verse #14 The
-
Bible says in the second month, on the 7th and 20th day, or the
-
27th day of the month, was the earth dried.
-
And God spake unto Noah, saying, Go forth of the ark, thou and
-
thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons wives with thee.
-
Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee
-
of all flesh, both the fowl and of cattle, and of creeping thing
-
that creepeth upon the earth, that they may breed abundantly
-
in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.
-
And Noah went forth in his sons, and his wife, and his sons wives
-
with him. Every beast, every creeping
-
thing, and every fowl whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after
-
their kinds went out, went forth out of the ark.
-
And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord, and took of every
-
clean beast and every fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the
-
altar. And the Lord smelled a sweet
-
savour. The Lord said in his heart, I
-
will not again curse the ground anymore for man's sake, for the
-
imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth.
-
Neither will I smite again, smite any more every living
-
thing as I have done, while the earth remains of seed time and
-
harvest and cold and heat, summer and winter and day and
-
night shall not cease. I want tonight just going to
-
title this Beyond the flood, All right?
-
Beyond the flood, because now we're on the backside of it,
-
Amen. And so look at that.
-
We'll delve into chapter #9 here a little bit as well, too,
-
beyond the flood. Glad to have Aiden with us
-
tonight here again with Glenna. Glad to have Isaiah with us
-
tonight, Amen, as well, Amen. So beyond the flood, we'll pray.
-
Father, I need your help tonight.
-
God, we all do. Lord, in this place.
-
God, the truths of your word, help him God to find Lord
-
placements Lord in our own individual lives and will not
-
fail to thank you and praise you for in the name of Jesus Christ
-
that we pray. Amen.
-
I want to say Amen. You may be seated.
-
I'm kind of backtracking just a little bit, maybe just a little
-
redundant, a little repetitive here.
-
But remember, as we start here tonight, again, we, we had the
-
graphs and stuff up last week and the dates that we know that
-
were included in Scripture. And so that's the reason why I
-
started with verse #14 on that second month of that 27th day is
-
when the Lord spoke to Noah. As we continue reading, He spoke
-
to Noah and them that they should come off the ark.
-
And if you'll remember, we looked at this remember as far
-
as records go, when God told Noah to get off the ark, that
-
was the first time Noah has heard from God, according to the
-
records, since he had told Noah to get on the ark.
-
So he told. Him to get on the ark?
-
Here's nothing. For a little.
-
Over a year and and then he is told to get off the ark and so
-
this whole concept and idea still rocks my boat.
-
And yes, the pun is intended. It's still rocks my boat.
-
Because no one knew what the ark would save him from.
-
God told him what was going to take place as far as 40 days of
-
rain and night. That was kind of it in a
-
nutshell, really, of what God shared with with Noah.
-
He didn't share all the details, but enough of that 40 days and
-
40 nights. So he knew, he knew that the ark
-
would save him and his family from that again, but he did not
-
know the length of time that they would be on the ark, nor
-
did he know the severity of everything that took place while
-
they were on the ark. And so that really rocks my boat
-
a little bit to not know those things, but yet know that
-
there's 40 days, 40 nights, and all of this that God is going to
-
keep me from if I'll just join on this ark.
-
The apostle Paul said in Second Corinthians one and verse #5 he
-
says, For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our
-
consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
-
And what's interesting about that is this is that both the
-
sufferings of Christ and the consolation of Christ concern
-
us. It's not one or the other one to
-
preclude the other, but both of these things.
-
And really that's what Noah and his family faced here in the
-
ark. They face the consolation
-
because they were on the ark. Their lives were spared.
-
But there was no doubt also some suffering for the length of time
-
that they were on it, some of the headache and the heartache
-
of having to deal with everything that was taking
-
place. Just because they were on the
-
ark does not mean they did not feel the UPS and the downs of
-
the waves. Just because they were safe on
-
the ark does not mean they did not experience the turmoil of
-
being crammed in with other animals and all that goes with
-
that. And your imagination can go
-
wild. So they had both the consolation
-
of the Lord, but there was also some suffering, if you want to
-
call that as well. And with that, I think it's
-
important to understand then that our obedience to God's
-
commands does not exempt us from the trials and challenges of
-
this life. You can still be on the ark and
-
feel the wind. You still be on the ark and feel
-
that the tossing of the to and fro of the boat.
-
The apostle Paul also said in Second Corinthians chapter 4
-
verses 8 through 10. These are popular verses the
-
Scripture. He says we are troubled on every
-
side, yet not distressed. We are perplexed, but not in
-
despair, persecuted but not forsaken, cast down but not
-
destroyed, always bearing about in the body the dying of the
-
Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest
-
in our body. What are you saying?
-
I'm saying sometimes we are all of that.
-
Sometimes we are troubled, sometimes we are perplexed,
-
sometimes we are persecuted and cast down.
-
But if we're Noah, we're still alive.
-
We're still alive. The, the ark has not capsized.
-
The, the ark has not sprung a leak, so to speak.
-
Yes, it may pitch and heave and toss and and and sway, but at
-
least it's still afloat. And so this, this ark that we
-
are on May, may at times creak and groan, but we're confident
-
in God's design. And so we take consolation in
-
our suffering as a result of that.
-
And so this next thing, if you look at verse #16 and this may
-
seem petty, OK, this may seem petty, but I believe it's
-
significant. All right, God instructed Noah
-
on how they were to disembark from the ark, All right?
-
He told them how to get on, but he also told them how they were
-
to disembark. Verse #16 this was this was his
-
saying. He says, go forth.
-
This is his instruction. Go forth of the ark of thou.
-
He's speaking to Noah and thy wife and thy sons and thy sons
-
wives with thee. Then in verse #18 verse #18
-
records how they came off the ark.
-
Verse #18 says, And Noah went forth, and his sons and his wife
-
and his sons wives with him. Did you see it?
-
Did you see it? God says I want Noah, then his
-
wife, then his sons, then their wives.
-
They came off Noah and his sons, then his wife and their wives.
-
God had instructed them in a sense to leave as couples off
-
the ark, but the way that they exited was boys 1st and then the
-
ladies. Just stay with me here for a
-
moment. Again, you may think it's petty.
-
I believe it's important. Before the flood, the
-
instructions for entering the ark were given to them as they
-
really did come off the ark. They were to go on Noah and his
-
sons, then his wife and then his son's wife.
-
That were the instructions that were given.
-
Sometimes it was given very generally because we have a lot
-
of the repetition in Scripture, but when they boarded the Ark.
-
It was as when they came off, the ark really came off, No.
-
Genesis 16 and 18. I ain't going to read every
-
verse, but just snippets of it. Genesis 618 This is instruction,
-
thou and thy sons and thy wife and thy sons wives with thee.
-
That's how they're to go on. Genesis 71 Again, this is a
-
generality. Come thou all thy house into the
-
ark. Genesis 7/7 When they actually
-
went in, this is actually what occurred.
-
Noah went in and his sons and his wife and his sons wives with
-
him. Genesis 713 again, how they went
-
in actually entered Noah and Shem and Ham and Jacob and the
-
son, the sons of Noah and Noah's wife and the three wives of his
-
sons with them. All right.
-
But as I said in a previous lesson, and I made note that God
-
prescribed this order of them going on the ark entering as
-
Noah and his sons, and then wife and his sons wives.
-
And I made a a mention of how the Lord was showing forth
-
headship. That it's in and it's even true
-
still yet today that if if the father of the patriarch of the
-
family will take a lead for the things of God, then it's more
-
likely that his family will follow suit.
-
That's that's that's founded statistical evidence even from
-
today. And so that he was marking
-
headship that he would go then his family would follow.
-
But the purpose and this again, you might think it's petty and I
-
could be totally wrong, but I'm just telling you, the purpose
-
for coming off the ark was different.
-
Rather than God underscoring headship, he wanted to emphasize
-
relationship. Man and woman, you might say,
-
Brett McGee, what's the big deal?
-
You, you, you've had too many pepperonis or you ate pizza late
-
at night. Well, think of it for a moment
-
before we got here. The family since the beginning
-
till now has steadily dissolved since the fall.
-
The family has had a a steady dissolving and introduction and
-
growing of dysfunction in it since the fall.
-
We, we've highlighted this a few times already to this point of
-
time. Remember, let's start back at
-
the beginning and that's not too far for us, at least for right
-
now. Amen.
-
Remember, unless, unless God spoke directly to Eve, she
-
learned the information she learned about the tree of life
-
and the tree of knowledge and good and evil from her husband,
-
unless God spoke to her directly.
-
And yet with this information, she went forward and took of the
-
fruit and her husband was there with her, the Bible tells us.
-
And he didn't say anything, didn't say anything, didn't do
-
anything. And in the process, when God
-
came to talk to them about this whole occurrence, Adam blamed
-
his wife and this woman who God made for Adam to be his help
-
meet this woman that came from his side.
-
Even in the speaking to her, He spoke to her that she should
-
have some type of affinity or desire toward him and that he
-
should rule over her in the sense of being responsible for
-
her. I believe coming off the ark,
-
God gave specific instructions of how they come off the ark.
-
Because again, God is hitting the reset button not just for
-
creation. God is hitting the reset button
-
for the family. He's wanting them to step off
-
the ark. Man and woman, Noah and his
-
wife, him and his wife, him and his wife, Jacob and his wife.
-
Because before the flood, there's been this breakdown
-
between the man and his wife. Amen.
-
Before the flood, we have we have Lamech, according to Keynes
-
line, who was practicing polygamy, he had more than one
-
wife. Huh.
-
Before the flood. And so part of the human
-
condition, part of fallen human condition, is the dysfunction of
-
families. And so God coming off the ark
-
with a recreation is also going to have a, a fresh start with
-
the family, with the couple, the man and the woman, Amen, To
-
begin again on this earth. But instead of following that
-
order, the men came off and then the women came off.
-
And I believe that is significant.
-
Amen. That they came off like that
-
rather than like God expected them or, or instructed them to
-
come off. Because coming off like they did
-
is almost, they're not saying it with their mouth, but the way
-
that they're coming off. It's like this whole art
-
scenario affected every area of my life except my family, 'cause
-
God wants this journey. We talked about the the the ark
-
even be a metaphor for the church.
-
God wants this journey to not just revolutionize us
-
individually, but collectively as family units.
-
Though Noah had been pictured as and he has and we've we've we've
-
prompted that looked at that, you know, he did all that the
-
Lord commanded. He did all that the Lord
-
commanded. Although he is is pictured like
-
that all times in Scripture as an obedient man.
-
He's not a perfect man. And that is important for every
-
character in Scripture because we have stuff we focus on about
-
them that are grand. And there are some grand things,
-
but none of them are perfect, just as none of us are perfect.
-
He is an obedient man, but he's not a perfect man.
-
And so God certainly listened to me.
-
So he comes off there, not necessarily as prescribed, and
-
then goes over and builds an altar that God didn't even ask
-
him to build. And so I'm sure that God is, is
-
appreciative. He's happy.
-
He's like, yay, Noah, you're building the old, I didn't even
-
ask you to do that. Amen.
-
And he's happy about that. He's happy that Noah could walk
-
with him, that Noah could walk with God.
-
But if you can walk with me, why couldn't you walk with your wife
-
off the 'cause I asked you to do that.
-
Is everybody doing OK? The statement is this that
-
burned into my heart this afternoon is sometimes we
-
believe we're perfect, doing the unrequested good deeds while
-
neglecting God's actual commands.
-
So yes, there's things that we want to applaud him, yes, for
-
that altar, but let's not forget some of these other things as
-
well. And so with this, we find
-
balance in the character of Noah, or any character for that
-
matter. There's always good traits.
-
There's negative traits. We can have takeaways from both
-
of them. It's not that we ignore the good
-
in the person because of the negative in the person, or vice
-
versa, that we ignore the negative because of the good.
-
We take the whole individual all right here in the scriptures.
-
And so the Bible says that the burnt offering that Noah
-
prepared produce a sweet savour unto the Lord.
-
Remember, before the flood, God provided the offerings of him
-
taking more of the clean animals, all right, more of the
-
clean fowl upon the ark. God provided for it, although,
-
although he never demanded Noah to build the ark, he was
-
providing for what he knew that Noah was going to do when he
-
came off the ark. And so here's Noah, think with
-
me for a moment. He's gets off, He does this
-
altar, He has the offering. It is in a sense, worship unto
-
the Lord. And what Noah could have done
-
was rationalized away sacrifice when he knew there was a
-
scarcity of clean animals and he seemed the evident destruction
-
that had taken place while he was on the ark.
-
But Noah didn't do that. Noah prioritized worship over
-
all of his logical reservations about the sacrifice.
-
What's that? What's that mean?
-
That means he worshipped when it didn't make sense to him.
-
Yeah, yeah. We come in here sometimes and
-
according today, according to circumstance, although that's
-
not worship's all about because worship's about him anyway.
-
But sometimes just all the other things we want to rationalize
-
away why we shouldn't worship this.
-
So ABC and we have the list. Noah could have done it too.
-
Noah could have done it too, but he he prioritized worship over
-
everything else he says. I know I can rationalize this
-
away and it may make good sense. It could be a good excuse,
-
Sister Jen Cruz. But I know within myself what
-
I'm drawn to. Do I need?
-
I need to worship. In this moment.
-
It's no different than Job after after having lost his family and
-
animals and everything else and he learns of all of it.
-
And the last servant has just come with the bad news.
-
The Bible says that Job fell down and he worshiped.
-
You're not experience. You are not expecting that after
-
you. If you've heard all of the
-
mayhem that went through Job's life and family, you're
-
expecting you know him, shaking fists and.
-
Kicking dirt and all that. No, How does, how do you do that
-
job? Because I prioritize worship
-
over my logical reservations for not worshipping.
-
Amen. Amen.
-
And so this sweet savour comes up to the Lord.
-
And we know God is a spirit, but many times in Scripture it gives
-
him human features like a hand or a finger or a nose.
-
All right, this idea of smelling, but none the less,
-
it's a sweet savour that comes Amen unto the Lord.
-
And if it didn't directly come from a sacrifice, because I
-
don't know the last time you smelt burning flesh of an
-
animal, it's usually not that sweet, but it is to God.
-
Amen. Noah's actions in this moment no
-
doubt are well pleasing to God. And so in this God, then upon
-
seeing this and experiencing this, in this aroma, if you
-
will, of sacrifice, he bowed in himself not to curse the ground
-
again because he had already done that, not to curse the
-
ground again because of man, because why?
-
Because man is what man is. He is a fallen man, and he is
-
what he is. The Bible, even at this mode.
-
This is after the flood, right? Destruction of humanity.
-
This is like the big reset. And yet God attest himself that
-
the imaginations of man's heart are evil from his youth.
-
The same story that was told before the flood is the story
-
that's towed after the flood. Man is still as man is.
-
So cursing, cursing the ground that man was made from or
-
cursing man, if you want to look at it like that himself was not
-
going to solve the dilemma. God, God already knows this.
-
I hope you know God's not having like a little epiphany here
-
like, oh, I guess that don't work.
-
God already knew. He put it in Scripture so we
-
would know it didn't work. This isn't for this isn't God
-
having a moment and an idea. He's doing this for us to get it
-
that destroying man because of his sin isn't the answer.
-
Destroying living things because of their sin isn't the answer.
-
Smite and even the living things because the creatures, they
-
suffered as well, those things that man dominated that that
-
that were closer attached to them.
-
He says, touching them, touching something that that they had
-
dominion over that that will not solve it as well.
-
What does that do to us then as readers here in the book of
-
Genesis? Because whenever we find
-
ourselves without a solution, we eagerly await a solution.
-
The unsolved human dilemma, then, that's taken place here in
-
the Genesis story. What does it keep us doing?
-
It keeps us reading on, and for what?
-
For the purpose of hopefully what we'll be anticipating and
-
looking for an answer to the dilemma, because despite all
-
these failed attempts here in Scripture, the resolution to
-
humanity's problems, if we keep reading and keep going in
-
Scripture, eventually it's going to emerge.
-
Eventually it's going to be there.
-
Amen. And so all of the failed
-
attempts set up for us, really the most unlikely yet most
-
effective solution in Scripture, we're good.
-
It takes us a long time from Genesis to get to it in the
-
Gospels. But all along the journey from
-
Genesis to the Gospels, God is going to present to us a lot of
-
different solutions that don't work for man's evil continually
-
in his art, that don't work for his sin.
-
And he's doing that not for his own chef.
-
He's doing it for us. He wants us to know the
-
destruction don't work, that having the right earthly king
-
don't work over and over and over again doing that which is
-
right in your own eyes, not having a king don't work.
-
That's the book of Judges. He's showing us as readers that
-
until we get to the book of of the the Gospels to show us them
-
the death and the bear on the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
-
his blood that was shed, his life that was given because when
-
destruction couldn't take care of man and a king, an earthly
-
king couldn't take care of man and when people couldn't take of
-
themselves, you know what's going to work?
-
The King of kings, it's Christ Jesus, his blood, his life
-
that's going to work. Amen.
-
Go. Break a sweat up here.
-
My goodness, it's going to happen.
-
The solution. God is going to manifest himself
-
in flesh, as Timothy says, right?
-
He's going to become the sacrifice bearing humanity, sin.
-
Peter said that he bore our sin in his body, right?
-
And he is going to be the sacrifice that ends all
-
sacrifices. Hebrews says he entered into
-
that holy place once and for all.
-
The ultimate solution. But Genesis is the Bible has to
-
give us all these other things that are not solutions first.
-
Because if we're like humanity, we would say, well, couldn't
-
there be a different route? Couldn't there be an
-
alternative? Couldn't there be something
-
else, maybe something easier? He has to show us all the
-
failures of our mindset of what could work so that we would be
-
sold on what only works. That's in essence folks, A-Z.
-
That's the story of the Bible. That is the story of the Bible
-
beyond the Gospels going forward.
-
And when do we get to Revelation?
-
You know what that shows other people that tried some of those
-
other solutions and guess what? It don't work.
-
Amen. And so along with bowing not to
-
curse the ground or to flood the earth again, then God begin to
-
allude to in the very last verse of Genesis 8822, begin to allude
-
to all these foundational structures of creation.
-
He he kind of references time. He references the weather and
-
climate again, all those things in in the creative work of
-
Genesis, he he he references agriculture.
-
Look at it Genesis 8/22. He says, I'll not do any of
-
these things while the earth remaineth sea time and harvest
-
time. There's your agriculture and
-
cold and heat and summer and winter.
-
There's your weather, your climate and day and night.
-
All right, there's your time because the even the morning
-
when such and such day shall not cease.
-
Heads up hate telling me about one Genesis 822.
-
You're not going to go into some just eternal thermal earth here
-
and never have code because he says while it remaineth.
-
This is the way it's going to be.
-
I will not do if it comes to the thermal, it's where the heating
-
of the elements when this world is dissolved in the end of time
-
that Peter speaks of. So Genesis 9 verse #1 look, here
-
we go. We're such big folks.
-
We can go on another chapter and God bless Noah and his sons and
-
said unto them, be fruitful, multiply and replenish the
-
earth. Sounds very familiar.
-
And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every
-
beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all
-
that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea.
-
Into your hand they are delivered.
-
Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you, even as
-
the green herb. Even as the green herb.
-
Have I given you all things but flesh with life thereof, which
-
is the blood thereof. Shall ye not eat?
-
And surely your blood of your lives will I require at the hand
-
of every beast I will require it at the hand of man, at the hand
-
of every man's brother will I require the life of man who so
-
sheddeth man's blood by man shall his blood be shed.
-
For in the image of God made he man, and you be fruitful and
-
multiply, bring forth abundantly in the earth and multiplied
-
there in first verse and the said the verse very very, very
-
very similar. It's almost like 2 bookends.
-
It's actually a real literary device that they use in the
-
scripture, but it's like 2 bookends that's containing all
-
this content in between them. They're both reiterating the
-
original promise to Adam and his family being fruitful, multiply,
-
replenish. Amen.
-
Same thing that we see happening right here.
-
And no, that wasn't just a promise, just four of the
-
humans. That was a promise for the
-
animals as well in Genesis 8 and verse #17 it speaks that they
-
should also, that they should breed and also be fruitful and
-
multiply. So as it was in the beginning,
-
so it is now. So again, we're seeing this,
-
this duplication, right? A recreation, a reforming of
-
many things. And blessing, again, is
-
associated with reproduction. And that seems to be the case
-
throughout Scripture in the verses that follow.
-
Verse #1 There is a constant plea here of wanting to increase
-
human life up on the earth. But it's also followed by
-
measure that we would deter from decreasing life upon the earth.
-
So we want to build it up rather than take it away.
-
And this is very crucial. But let's think about how
-
crucial this is right in the world you're talking about.
-
Be fruitful. Multiply between these two
-
things. Then you're talking to me about
-
increase life. Increase life.
-
Don't take life, don't take life.
-
How crucial is it? Well, folks, all we got is 8
-
people. I mean, we're just a few good a
-
few good arguments and a a stone throw from the annihilation of
-
the human race, huh? We're did someone, someone Burke
-
dinner and it's over, you know, type thing.
-
We're just we're on a banana peel here right now.
-
So we're going to talk about prospering life, you know, and
-
try not, you know, eliminating any type of death that is not of
-
a natural causes. All right.
-
I mean, we're close here to extermination.
-
Amen. So when we get to verse two,
-
this, this reset of the the creative beginning is happening.
-
But it's it's somewhat with A twist because now the Bible says
-
that the animals fear and they dread the humans.
-
They fear and they dread the humans.
-
This seems to be A twist. Yes, Adam and the Eve were to
-
subdue and have dominion over the animals.
-
But this is this is different that there's a dread in the
-
fear. We're talking about the animals
-
at one time could walk before Adam as they did and he named.
-
Now there is a fear and a dread, some probably more than other.
-
Even as we know today, there's a little bit more skittish now in
-
the animal Kingdom. So it went from Adam subduing
-
and having dominion to now a fear and a dread of man.
-
The message Bible speaks of it like this.
-
In that verse it says, then it closes that verse out with
-
you're responsible for them. You're responsible for the
-
animals in the animal Kingdom. Now we still are today.
-
We are stewards of living things as man.
-
We are stewards of living things, but we got to keep a
-
proper balance there that we don't move and shift to a place
-
of ridiculousness where we've elevated just the animal Kingdom
-
over the human. All right, and you understand
-
what I'm talking about without saying anything else.
-
But none the less we got to be without being ridiculous.
-
We get further into the. Torah or the Law of God in the
-
Book of Deuteronomy. If an ox.
-
Gored a neighbor through all right, nothing was done about it
-
or and such that there was going to come some ramifications
-
because of what it did. But also scripture says that if
-
an ox was treading out the corn that you weren't to muzzle the
-
arcs as it was treading out the corn.
-
It was to be able to take some of the food of what of its labor
-
of its work to muzzle it would just just just wouldn't be
-
proper, wouldn't be right said so don't do that.
-
It said that if a man in Exodus it said that if a man seen a
-
beast of burden that was overburdened with some load on
-
its back, then it was required of the man or the woman that
-
seen this to lighten the load up on the back of the overburdened
-
animal. So we're stewards of them.
-
Not only that, whenever you read the 10 commandments and it talks
-
about us keeping the Sabbath, the Sabbath wasn't just for
-
humans. The Sabbath was for their
-
animals as well, that they get a day of rest because we're
-
stewards. And so in all this then verse #3
-
people's diets changed. It wasn't keto, it wasn't
-
Mediterranean. It was in addition to the herbs,
-
in addition to the fruits that they had prior to the fraud back
-
at the beginning of creation. In addition to that now meat,
-
meat as in they became carnivorous.
-
They are carnivores now there they can have meat a part of
-
their diet. All right.
-
But in all of this talk then about we're expanding your diet
-
and now you can have these animals or you can have meat a
-
part of it. The the, the the plea was this,
-
that you could not eat the meat with the blood in it because
-
they link the ungodly link, because the life of the flesh,
-
it's in the blood. It's in the blood and blood is
-
in the life. So as a result of that, they
-
needed to properly drain the blood out of an animal before
-
they ate it as best as possible properly.
-
They didn't want to take a living animal, cut a chunk off
-
and just get at it. I'm not trying to be gross, what
-
I'm just saying. And so with this also with this
-
idea of life being in the blood, then came also another aspect of
-
and facet of the preciousness of the life of man.
-
And he goes on and begins to say then how man is not even to kill
-
man. He must not shed a man's blood.
-
And if he did, the man who shed the blood must die.
-
Again, in the years before the flood, what's happening?
-
The world is becoming exceedingly violent.
-
That's your Bible. It becomes exceedingly violent.
-
And that word violent covers a grand scheme and spectrum of
-
things. Not only that, the very thing
-
that the first son of Adam and Eve or or that we know to be the
-
first son of Adam, Eve Cain, what'd he do?
-
Killed his brother. And then in the line, in the
-
line of Cain Lamech, what's he do?
-
He says I killed a man for wounding me.
-
And he kind of was braggadocious about it.
-
Yeah. He talked about, is that.
-
Is that a bad word? I'm sorry.
-
I appreciate that. I mean, I was really feeling
-
good about myself today. And I'm glad there's more than
-
eight people on the earth now. Amen.
-
But now so these very things that they had done, now God
-
blatantly prohibits. Why?
-
Because man going back to Jesus one again, man is created in the
-
image of God. There's no horse glinted that's
-
been created in the image of God.
-
I'm sorry, man is the only thing that's been created.
-
Man and woman, they've been created in the image of God.
-
And so in a sense, whenever he talks about all required of man,
-
all required of beasts, all required of brothers, right?
-
I mean, from Abraham back to Adam, we all in a sense
-
literally are, are are brothers. But even in a figurative sense,
-
we are brothers. Amen.
-
And so man is to be reverence, God is to be reverence.
-
And we reverence God by reverencing man who is made in
-
the image of God. So man is to be treated with
-
dignity because he's been made in the image of God.
-
What does that matter? What does that mean?
-
That means it doesn't matter what race the man's from.
-
It does not matter what background the man's from.
-
It does not matter what religion the man is from.
-
No matter if he is absolutely in rebellion spiritually against
-
the things of God, it does not matter what religion he is from.
-
He is made in the image of God and we are to respect the life
-
as a result of that. Or can't you send it like this?
-
He says you disregard. Disregard for the gift of life
-
is affront to the giver. Of life.
-
The New Testament would say it like this.
-
This is what we read. He that have done it unto the
-
have done it unto me, because to kill a human was to assault God,
-
because we're made in the image of God and we, we as
-
individuals, as people, Murder is usurping God's right to
-
decide life and death. Job said in his claim said,
-
naked, I came to this room naked.
-
I'll depart, right. He said all these things and he
-
speaks about how God had had the dominion, if you will, of, of
-
taking his life or leaving his life, how all of that was up to
-
God in Job chapter #1 And so whenever we want to step in and
-
take life, we're usurping God's right in, in a sense we're
-
attempting. To be God.
-
And so yes, that is not to say that there is not a, a system of
-
human government right now that decides, for instance, capital
-
punishments in certain regions and areas of our world and
-
capital punishment. We could go back to 10
-
Commandments, which was a series I did when probably I first came
-
here as pastor, was premeditated murder in Scripture.
-
There's a difference between manslaughter and murder in
-
Scripture, but premeditated murder.
-
And so. And you said, well, Brother
-
McGee, what? Well, human government is better
-
than anarchy. Again, let's go to judges where
-
there was no rule. All right.
-
And so what's interesting, though, about these things that
-
God is saying in this moment, these are things he's talking to
-
Noah and these eight souls, which, guess what, consisted of
-
all of humanity at that point in time.
-
So the Noah law, as many times it's referred to, is a law that
-
pertains to all humanity. This is not a law that's just
-
for Israel. This is not a law just for the
-
church. The nation of Israel did not
-
exist at this moment in time. There were eight people, and it
-
applied to all of humanity. As a matter of fact, this law
-
concerning the shedding of blood, if blood was shed to shed
-
that person's blood, this the only law that we see repeated
-
over and over again, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and
-
Deuteronomy, all the first five books have this very same law.
-
And again, even if a beast killed a man, as I said earlier,
-
if an ox, Gord, one through the ox was to lose its life, he had
-
to give. A beast had to give an account
-
for shedding man's blood. What's all this do, Pastor
-
McGee? I'll tell you what it does.
-
So we need to pay a lot of attention and Revere the blood
-
of an animal and the blood of mankind.
-
What's this do? It's setting us up.
-
God's Bible does this. Oh, it does it.
-
Sometimes you don't realize it. It sets you up because as he's
-
causing mankind to be very reverent toward the blood of an
-
animal, he'll move later into like Leviticus and Deuteronomy,
-
and through a sacrificial system of animals, their blood will
-
atone for the sins of people. He's setting this up because as
-
we get further than into the New Testament, it'll be the blood of
-
the Lamb of God, Christ Jesus that will atone and make right
-
for the sins of the world. So what's he doing?
-
He's conditioning us. Back here as soon as we step off
-
the ark in this new recreation. Of the world, the start to adopt
-
A reverence for the. Blood.
-
Who? A reverence for the blood of the
-
animal. A reverence for the blood of
-
mankind. Oh, Brother McGee, hogwash.
-
He can't. Oh, yes, he is.
-
That's what's taking place here in Scripture.
-
Why would that be important? I'll tell you why.
-
Will you bear with me? I'm really I'm.
-
I'm about done. And see, we're doing really
-
good. Let me just share all these are
-
Scripture verses. I'll give you the reference as I
-
go, because Christ would purchase His church with His
-
blood. Acts 2028.
-
It says in Romans 5:00 and 9:00 that we are justified by His
-
blood. In First Corinthians 11/25 he
-
said that the New Testament or the New Covenant was guess where
-
in His blood. Ephesians one and seven says we
-
have redemption through His blood.
-
Colossians 114 and Hebrews 922 says not only do we have
-
redemption through his blood, but we also had forgiveness of
-
sins and the remission of sins. Guess what happens by his blood.
-
Ephesians 213 says that the blood made those that were far
-
off nigh. That happened because of the
-
blood. Colossians one and 20 says peace
-
comes through his blood. Amen.
-
In Hebrews 922 we've been purged by His blood.
-
Hebrews 1312 we are sanctified, set apart by His blood.
-
First John 17 says His blood cleanses us from all sin.
-
Revelation 12 and 11 says we are overcomers by the blood of Lamb
-
and the word of our testimony. All the way though, back in
-
Genesis chapter #9 God's depositing the reverence for His
-
blood because He knew what the blood would come to mean to the
-
church and humanity in the future.
-
And I'm going to get them to start reverencing it now so
-
they'll for sure lasso their life around it then.
-
Amen. The old sacrificial system, even
-
the Old Testament, you weren't going to, you had different
-
types of offerings, trespass offerings, sin offerings,
-
fellowship offerings, 5 different or so different
-
offerings. All of these, most of these, I
-
say most of these included blood.
-
There were some that were just purely green offerings, but a
-
lot of them included blood. And when we talk about the Day
-
of Atonement, whenever the priest went in and he put blood
-
upon the mercy seat so that mankind and the nation, Israel
-
could be at one at one, at one with God that required blood.
-
Amen. It's blood, blood, blood.
-
No man even entered into the holy place, which was the place
-
where the Spirit of God, Amen. They believed what no one person
-
even entered there. The Bible says without blood.
-
In other words, Old Testament symbolism, you didn't have
-
access to His spirit without the blood.
-
And whenever they caught the blood that was at the altar from
-
the animal that was slain, they took that blood with them to the
-
labour in the washing. There's no washing without the
-
accompaniment of blood, folks. What's that mean?
-
Well, it's at the altar. This is where the animal that
-
died, that again, that mirrors our repentance.
-
The labor mirrors our baptism, the holies of holies, where the
-
presence of God is, where the blood was sprinkled on the mercy
-
seat. That that that pictures are Holy
-
Ghost, folks. Your repentance, baptism and
-
infill in the Holy Ghost all requires blood.
-
So yes, I'm going to reverence it.
-
Yes, I'm going to pay kindly to it because this Bible is a
-
bloody book and we are bloody people because the life is in
-
the blood. Stay with me, I'll close.
-
So verse #7 that other book in comes in, right?
-
The other book in comes in, and again it talks about replenish,
-
multiply, and do your thing abundantly here across the
-
earth. Again, it comes in and it's
-
promoting life, claps off this little section by promoting life
-
because in the context of talking about this death and
-
dying and killing and the taking of animals and the taking of
-
humans, it wants the final thought in our mind again is
-
choose life, not death, not shedding of those things, not
-
taking of another man, not not, not not drinking or or for
-
taking of an animal that has blood in no choose life.
-
Choose life. And so this is life beyond
-
beyond the flood. We'll get a little further in
-
Genesis chapter #9 I'm, I'm, I'm like hopeful to get Genesis 9
-
and maybe if I can get through 10 for a stopping place by the
-
end of the, by the end of the time that I got two more, I got
-
two more Wednesdays personally. I'll be gone the last Wednesday
-
of the month because Zach will be here teaching, but I got two
-
Wednesdays personally. So if I can get through nine and
-
maybe 10, guess what? 10 is back to some genealogies
-
and I knew that I would just suck the air out of every
-
individual with that announcement terms us to save it
-
for next year. We're going to trace your family
-
tree, brother, Amen. Let's pray tonight in closing,
-
Father, we're so thankful God. We're thankful Lord Jesus for
-
you being mindful of us. We're thankful God, for these
-
things that you have put in place, these things that you
-
have conditioned us, the Lord Jesus, for and with God
-
questions and other things that you left open God for.
-
Our minds would constantly search and be looking for a
-
solution that you would present to us, Lord boldly and
-
profoundly, God that we would accept.
-
Lord, I pray God, we have much history Lord, to lean upon and
-
go on. But God, there's a great future
-
ahead of us because the Lord of the history you left at Calvary,
-
Lord, we're thankful for it and we appreciate you in the name of
-
Jesus Christ that I pray Amen and Amen.
-
God thereby say Amen, you're dismissed tonight.
-
Amen in Jesus name. Thank you for listening.
