Hallelujah, Amen. I have felt the glory of the
-
Lord, a man rise among us in this place this morning.
-
And if you're feeling something else, it's probably the humidity
-
in the room. All right.
-
And so please bear with us. We do have a baptism today.
-
Anytime we make the baptismal hot, it makes us all hot.
-
But I would live with it like this if that meant someone was
-
baptizing each Sunday, then to be quote UN quote comfortable.
-
All right, Amen. So we're happy about that.
-
Ray Mcveigh's going to be baptized later today.
-
And so there's a lot of it's like that's happening and then
-
we're going to be dedicating a little Cade Amen this morning as
-
well. So we almost have, I mean, we
-
need to have a wedding and something else.
-
We just almost have an all the pastoral rows like within a day.
-
But my wife raised asked her to baptize.
-
So I think my wife and my daughter's going to be aiding
-
Ray and being baptized this morning.
-
Amen. And so that's going to be great.
-
Hallelujah. Good to see all your smiling
-
faces today. Amen.
-
If you can stand for me, we'll turn to the book of numbers.
-
And so there's I know there's a lot going on.
-
So it's probably going to be a little bit more of an extended
-
service and I'm trying to be mindful of that on my end.
-
And the operative keyword there is trying.
-
I'm trying to be mindful of that on my end.
-
Sometimes I'm successful and sometimes I fail miserably.
-
And so please offer me grace and forgiveness if that happens to
-
be the case today. But we'll try to do that.
-
Sister Cox is going to keep track of me.
-
She walked in with a couple of mints and she said, you're not
-
going to take my mints. And I said, well, is that how
-
you keep track of how long I preach?
-
Like, you put a mint in and you just let it dissolve and you're
-
like, oh, he's on mint #2 now. And so I don't, I don't know.
-
I'm really trying to figure out the dynamic.
-
Brown says he just raises his arm and taps his watch or his
-
belly. But I'm, you know, sometimes I
-
just don't look at them. Numbers chapter #12 Numbers
-
chapter #12 Glad to have each one that's with us, some that
-
are visiting and such. And we're appreciate we got both
-
sides of the Zach and Malin family here today.
-
And I know that they're probably just overjoyed with having their
-
family with him this morning. Numbers chapter 12, verse #10
Numbers 12 chapter mention
-
I'm going to begin reading and then I'll, I'll skip down just
-
just once, but you can follow my lead here.
-
Today the Bible says, And the cloud departed off the
-
Tabernacle. And behold, Miriam became
-
leprous, white as snow. And Aaron looked upon Miriam,
-
and behold, she was leprous. And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas,
-
my Lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have
-
done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned.
-
Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed,
-
when he cometh out of his mother's womb.
-
Skipping down to verse #15 if we can.
-
And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days.
-
And the people journey not to Miriam was brought in again,
-
Amen. With the help of the Holy Ghost,
-
Amen. I want to minister something
-
that kind of fell in my spirit back in February but came back
-
to my mind's remembrance this week.
-
I want to minister this. Leave no one behind.
-
Leave no one behind, Amen. Can we talk?
-
To the Lord right now. Father, I need you today.
-
God, we're grateful. For the people that have
-
gathered here this morning, we pray, oh Lord, with their own
-
individual needs and concerns. We pray God that you're able to
-
meet them, Lord, before they leave this place, or at least
-
comfort them. I pray, Lord, let your word,
-
Jesus be a comfort. Let your word, Lord Jesus, be an
-
upholder. Lord of spirits today, God, give
-
us direction and guidance and Lord, edification, God,
-
encouragement by the word today. Let it go forth and do that
-
which it was sent to accomplish in our lives.
-
God and will not fail to thank you and praise you Lord, for
-
what you accomplish here today. Say this morning in the name of
-
Jesus Christ that I pray a man of the church say man Amen.
-
You may be seated this morning in Jesus name.
-
Leave no one. Look at your neighbor and say
-
leave no one behind. Leave no one behind.
-
It is the military mantra that embodying the promise that
-
military personnel will do everything possible to recover
-
and care for their fellow soldiers, whether wounded,
-
captured or killed. It ensures that no one is
-
abandoned and forgotten, that everyone returns home, whether
-
they are missing in action, whether they are prisoners of
-
war. It underscores the importance of
-
looking. Out.
-
For each other in our Scripture today, Moses, Aaron, and Miriam
-
are the triad or the. Trifecta of the Nation.
-
Of Israel, they seem to be the the the three that are leading
-
and spearheading this nation through their wilderness
-
journey. These three are civil siblings
-
from the same parents. Of course, Moses is their
-
deliverer. He is.
-
Notably, their lawgiver not too. Much time removed from this
-
moment in Scripture, he was there at Sinai, and he conveyed
-
to them the law of God. He is known as their Lawgiver.
-
Aaron, on the other hand, is Israel's high priest, a notable
-
position to serve. Him and.
-
Then there is Miriam. Miriam is the eldest of the
-
she's she's the older sister if you.
-
Will a man of these. Two other boys and.
-
She is according to scripture. Exodus 15.
-
She is a prophetess. And she may have very easily
-
with with. Aaron in such a prominent.
-
Row. And Moses in such a.
-
Prominent row She may have taken first rank among the women of
-
Israel. To.
-
Exemplify a pattern of how to live life and how how to go
-
forward in their journey. To the promised land.
-
It was Miriam that stood idly by with bated breath.
-
As she was observing the. Outcome of her baby brother
-
Moses that had been placed in the Nile river in a basket of.
-
Bulrushes by his mother. Mother.
-
That set him there, hoping that he would be saved, because
-
Pharaoh, of course, had called for those type of boys to be
-
thrown into the Nile River without any provision, without
-
any protection. But Moses's mother, seeing that
-
he was a goodly child, had kept him for three.
-
Months and made this basket that she would settle.
-
Him down in into the Nile River, which.
-
Had all types of of. Predators like alligators.
-
And things of that nature. And so it was Miriam, though,
-
that stood a little in the distance after her mom had
-
placed Moses down in that Nile. It was Miriam that negotiated
-
with Pharaoh's daughter and began to say, Ma'am, do you need
-
a nurse for this child? It was Miriam that found then
-
her own mother to be the nurse to her own child Moses, and
-
negotiated that with Pharaoh's daughter.
-
In a sense, Miriam in this moment helped deliver who would
-
eventually deliver her. It's just a.
-
Bewildering thought to even consider.
-
Imagine, if you will, the banter.
-
You know how siblings are. I know how our household is
-
siblings. Imagine the banter that was
-
exchanged between the three of them, Moses and Aaron and
-
Miriam. They most likely at times
-
antagonized Moses for being the. Deliverer, you know, like.
-
Your big stuff. Moses, you know.
-
You're a big deal. I can hear it among the family.
-
You're you're really big. And I can hear Miriam almost
-
playfully holding over Moses's head.
-
Don't forget that if it wasn't for me, your mom wouldn't have
-
been your nurse after you was put down in that river.
-
So, you know, Moses, you really kind of owe me one.
-
You can see a little bit of the family rivalry.
-
And some of the bantering. That would take place, but it
-
was Miriam that shortly after they had.
-
Crossed over the Red Sea. And the bodies of the Egyptians
-
were? Drifting along the shore.
-
That Marion came forth. Echoing the song of.
-
Moses and she begin to. Sing and say, sing ye.
-
To the Lord, for he have triumphed the.
-
Gloriously, the horse and his. Rider hath he.
-
Thrown into the sea. The.
-
Bible says she came forth. Doing that after they crossed
-
over, the Bible also tells us that in the process of doing
-
that she grabbed a timbrel and she beat that timbrel and waved
-
that timbrel and began to dance. In doing so leading the women of
-
the nation all in timbrels and dances before the Lord.
-
She allowed all these women and was leadership for them as they
-
joined in celebrating the significant victory.
-
In retrospect, it is the prophet Micah that clearly states God's
-
opinion of Miriam's integral role played alongside her
-
brothers when Micah prophesied the words of the Lord.
-
In Micah chapter 6 and verse #4 it says God speaking, For I
Micah 6 chapter mention
-
brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out
-
of the. House of Servants.
-
And I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.
-
That within itself testifies to her role, to her placement, to
-
her importance, right as alongside Moses and Aaron was
-
the important placement of the prophetess Miriam in her
-
spiritual ability. Amen.
-
To inspire and guide others, and expressions of faith and
-
expressions of joy. As a prophetess, no doubt she
-
had to have spiritual inside at times and discernment that went
-
along with that. And here's a lady.
-
What even in this society that customarily is a patriarchal
-
society, which means it was men driven, here is a female leader
-
among a patriarchal society that is commanding the respect of all
-
Israel. So Miriam is a notable
-
individual, notable lady and all.
-
That thing may seem to be overshadowed by the events of
-
Numbers chapter #12 because the same woman who led others in
-
celebration over their deliverance now seemingly
-
enslaves herself by her behavior.
-
She and Aaron, according to Numbers 12, they come together
-
and they speak against Moses because he has married an
-
Ethiopian woman. And also they begin to argue
-
among themselves. I know that people say that God
-
speaks through Moses or by Moses.
-
Aaron does not God also speak by us and through US.
-
And so Miriam's behavior here in this chapter would shortly be
-
manifested by a condition that the Old Testament and both the
-
New Testament right of the Bible says that her body.
-
Would be covered with. Leprosy.
-
Leprosy and Scripture from start to finish is a.
-
Emblem of sin. We understand even this, this
-
emblem being recognized and understood whenever Aaron cries
-
out in verse 11 to Moses and says lay not this sin up on us,
-
particularly he has in mind because of Miriam turning to a
-
leper in the moment, particularly Moses.
-
Don't allow this sin to fall upon her.
-
You must understand the position, listen to me today,
-
that Aaron is in He is a priest. He is the high priest, and
-
therefore it is his role and his responsibility to look at Miriam
-
and confirm that she is indeed a leper.
-
And based upon what he gathers from looking at her, it is his
-
responsibility to pronounce her unclean.
-
Think of it for a moment. This is his sister.
-
This is someone that has served with him.
-
They come over the the the the red seat together.
-
You understand all these shared experiences and now he has this
-
responsibility to look upon. His own sister and confirm.
-
There's leprosy, confirm. There's sin, confirm you are
-
unclean. More than anyone, I want you to
-
understand today that more than anyone, Aaron understands the
-
severity of Miriam's situation. More than anyone, he understands
-
the gravity of what has just happened to her.
-
The Bible even tells us that Aaron sobs in verse #12 he cries
-
out and he says let her not be as one dead.
-
He's shaken from his core to circumference.
-
I can't imagine this happening to Miriam.
-
Don't allow her to be as one dead.
-
Her ordeal will be like a person that's the living dead.
-
She'll be alive, but she'll be dying every day.
-
Don't allow her to be like. Don't allow her to have her
-
flesh appear as though it's already half consumed.
-
Don't allow her this. I can't believe it.
-
How in the world this Miriam, my sister, the same woman that was
-
so sensitive to the Spirit of God, now will physically be
-
desensitized by leprosy and she'll lose her ability to feel.
-
Don't allow her to be as one, dead.
-
But he knows they know she's a leper.
-
Nonetheless, and as a leper, she's going to be subjected to
-
the law of a leper and she's going to have to dwell alone,
-
much like Uzziah and Second Chronicles that was cut off from
-
the House of the Lord. Miriam is going to be.
-
Shut outside the camp. Leprosy will do it to you.
-
Sin will do it to you. He'll separate you.
-
It's separated with Adam and Eve in the garden and it's still,
-
it'll separate you, it'll isolate you, it'll humiliate
-
you, it'll shame you. He'll he'll cut you off, if you
-
will, from God's house and from God's people and where you once
-
sang and where you once danced will become strange to you,
-
leprosy. He'll do it to you.
-
But the Bible says in verse 15 and Miriam was shut out from the
-
camp seven days and the people journey not till Miriam was
-
brought in again. I meant to you.
-
I've cut my. Teeth on a Pew and plucked the
-
hardened gum off the bottom of them.
-
I've heard this passage preach. More than once in my lifetime.
-
And for the most part, whenever I've ever heard this message
-
from this passage preach. Preachers have underscored how
-
Miriam's critical spirit. That spirit that she exemplified
-
to being critical of Moses and critical of his marriage, that
-
critical spirit stopped a whole nation's progress.
-
So as a result, in my lifetime of growing up, I've always
-
viewed this as one person sin impacting the whole nation.
-
I've chopped it up to how it just relates to the
-
pervasiveness of sin, how one person sin never effects them
-
along that it's impact is far reaching.
-
And I'm telling you today, I'm not saying that is the wrong
-
view, but I don't think that is the only view.
-
In February, as God had my eyes Passover, this text in the Home
-
and Christian Standard Bible, the translation that I was
-
reading, there was a phrase there that read like this, very
-
similar, but sometimes reading something just a little
-
different catches your attention.
-
It says the people did not move on until Miriam was brought back
-
in. It's not that it's not that
-
Israel couldn't move, it's that Israel didn't move.
-
I suppose the nation of Israel could have just easily moved on,
-
pulled up states of their tent and went on just a little
-
further. But the fact of the matter that
-
the Scripture conveys us is this they didn't Rather what the
-
nation did is that they waited until Miriam got back in the
-
congregation. They waited until Miriam got
-
back in the camp. Some picture this Amen as a
-
journey that has been hindered by a pause or a stop, but I'd
-
rather look at it as a people and a nation that was given some
-
consideration. Given some consideration Amen to
-
someone that was presently outside the camp.
-
I don't know what their mindset is, but I tend to believe that
-
they adopted the mindset. Listen ladies and gentlemen,
-
listen boys and girls. We are unwilling to leave anyone
-
behind. She's she's been a leader, she's
-
been a worshipper, she's been a prophetess, she's been a helper,
-
she's been an encourager. And I know some things went left
-
and right, but I'm not willing to leave her behind.
-
So we're going to tread some water right here.
-
We're going to tread some ground right here.
-
Hey, what? What are they doing at this
-
moment in time? Think of it.
-
For a moment. They are on the journey in the
-
wilderness, predominantly from Egypt to the promised land, to
-
the land that God said is yours, to the land God said that there
-
is a rest that is awaiting you. Amen.
-
There. You know what they're doing.
-
They're in their mode of picking up stakes, putting them down,
-
and with every trip getting a little closer to the land of
-
promise. You know what they decided from
-
this moment? We're going to pause here for a
-
moment. Rather drawing naire to our
-
intended destiny. We're going to pause here for a
-
moment because there's somebody that's not in the camp.
-
There's somebody that used to be that's not in the camp.
-
I wonder if anybody's ever got on your mind or your heart,
-
Someone that used to be in the camp that isn't in the camp.
-
And you said, Lord, just wait a little longer, please, Jesus.
-
Why? Because I have a feeling we need
-
to stay right here until they return, until they come back,
-
until they show back up. Someone came in.
-
Yes, Miriam had misspoken. Yes, leprosy clung to her.
-
But Israel was exercising compassion.
-
Why? Well, number one, they should,
-
but secondly. They had seen her.
-
Operate in a. Leper less state and they
-
resolved we're not going to go. Ahead without.
-
Her let. Me ask you a question today,
-
what would happen if churches refused to continue?
-
And to those set outside the camp were brought back in, can I
-
ask you where are the errands that are beseeching and
-
jockeying for a different outcome that can recognize, I
-
know it was wrong. I know they're a leper.
-
I know that that's their state. But does it have to be this way?
-
Does does it have, does this have to be the defining moment
-
of their legacy? Does it Moses?
-
Does she have to live a stone? She's have to.
-
Does this have to be the moment? Come here.
-
Do you understand? Look at your Bibles.
-
Look, look at verse #13 Aaron cries out to Moses.
-
Moses was the person wronged. You don't like your marriage.
-
And God speaks to us just as much as you.
-
Moses was the person wronged by Miriam.
-
But in in verse 13, what do we see Moses doing?
-
He's crying out. He's praying and he's saying
-
heal her now, God, heal her now. God, I beseech, see what's
-
honey? The one that was even wronged
-
was lifting his voice and saying, I don't want to see it
-
this way. God, please don't allow it to be
-
this way. Heal her, change her mind, touch
-
her heart, do what is ever necessary.
-
So she's back in the camp. I'm here to tell you today we
-
need to assume the attitude of an errand and the attitude of a
-
Moses. I don't care if people's left
-
and you were offended or got hurt and they're leaving or they
-
were against you, you need to. I hide the heart of Moses that
-
says God, I know they're a leper, but heal them.
-
I know that they're a leper, but hey man.
-
Someone come soak this water up off the floor when I'm all done
-
and put me back together. Scholars can't be sure.
-
No one can for sure whether Miriam was healed in the moment.
-
Nonetheless, the Bible tells us that she was set outside of the
-
camp for seven days. There, Terry, can I say for some
-
it's been seven days, for some it's been months, for some it's
-
been years. But the.
-
Congregation still cries. Let's wait just a little longer.
-
Because there's some still some. Miriam's.
-
There's still some Miriam's. That's out there.
-
Can I talk? Maybe even this morning he meant
-
through live stream today, if there are any Merriams out there
-
under the sound of my voice that may be wringing their hands in
-
the isolation of their condition of leprosy, and you're walking
-
back and forth and you're thinking about what you have
-
done and how you would have done it differently.
-
Can I tell you that while you are doing that, there ought to
-
be a congregation treading the waters of time to hold back
-
eternity until they return? They should be.
-
And for that matter, Brother Ted, what was what was?
-
What was Moses's wife's response?
-
Your thought about that? What was her response?
-
Was it good enough for her? I hope her fingers and legs.
-
Fall off. I hope the oozing of of the.
-
Body of fluids from her body and the pain is excruciating on her.
-
She's got what's coming to her. What is Moses's wife, responds.
-
Fact of the matter, in Scripture nothing is recorded.
-
Nothing is recorded. Did she think she she?
-
Just rot outside the camp for despising her.
-
Nothing is recorded. Here's all I do know.
-
All I know is that the people which must have.
-
Included moses's wife did not journey and to Miriam was
-
brought. Back in do you even?
-
Understand this morning that God took leprosy.
-
What was? Typically a lifelong agonizing
-
separation. From the camp, from the.
-
House of God. From God's people.
-
That was typically a lifelong. Agonizing separation until
-
death. And by healing or?
-
Whatever, by miracle reduced. That to a.
-
Seven day exclusion. Let me tell you what that's.
-
That. Is that's mercy.
-
That's Grace. That's long.
-
Suffering and to emulate. Him that's.
-
What we've been called to do. The Bible says in second.
-
Peter 3:00 and 9:00 The Lord is not slack concerning his
-
promise, particularly the promise of his return, as some
-
men count slackness, but is long-suffering to.
-
US word not willing that huh? I know how we are.
-
Sometimes I know how. I let me speak.
-
For I know how I am sometimes. Serves.
-
Them right I'm just being real, huh you.
-
Know had a headache every. Day, but once they were outside
-
the camp. Doing pretty good maybe.
-
I'm too real. Here for a moment.
-
But to adopt and pattern. At the Lord is he's not willing
-
to. Any.
-
It's a big word. 3 letters. But it's a big word.
-
Any should perish. But that all should come.
-
To repentance. The scripture doesn't tell us
-
particularly, but we assumed then that Miriam did indeed
-
repent. However, that wasn't the focus
-
for this. The focus is what is highlighted
-
that. Aaron grieved over her state.
-
Moses interceded on her behalf, and the people took center stage
-
by. Keeping the holding pattern of
-
not going anywhere until she was restored, am I doing?
-
OK, according to the law. In the book of Leviticus and
-
folks. If I if I read every scripture I
-
have tucked in here, it'd be. We.
-
Would baptize Ray tonight, but according.
-
To the law Leviticus 14 and 8 which this applied to man or
-
woman all right concerning the law of leprosy even in leviticus
-
1329 those who were cleansed of leprosy were required to.
-
Shave off. All their hair.
-
This. Was part of the ritual.
-
Are the ritual purification. Process prescribed in the law.
-
Of Moses, the verse states that after they were declared.
-
Clean by the priest. The person must.
-
Wash their clothes. Shave.
-
Off all their hair, bathe in. Water to become ceremonia clean
-
again, to be introduced into the company of the congregation
-
again. This is a humiliating act.
-
To anyone, but particularly. Two women with long hair Miriam
-
is. Permitted back into the camp.
-
Just follow me. She's permitted.
-
Back into the camp. But her?
-
Bald head. At the initiation.
-
Of her entrance back into the camp is the end sign of her
-
disgrace. From what had happened, she is
-
cling. She is.
-
Clean. But it's going to take.
-
Some time to lose? That marks, not just.
-
Identify identifier of her purification, but it's also
-
identifier that she had been unclean, so she has a bald head.
-
She's clean upon entrance, but it's going to take some time to
-
lose the identity of the mark of what she had been.
-
And I suspect Sister Sheila, that the congregation waited.
-
For her and if they. Waited for her they they would
-
also be the same ones. That regardless of the marks,
-
they would be the. Ones that would welcome her.
-
If you only want to. Love people.
-
Whenever they reach. Your Apostolic status?
-
That's not love you need. Them to walk.
-
In with their bald head. You need them to.
-
Walk in with the tattering of where they've been or what
-
leprosy had served. Up on them and.
-
Go on and pull that bald head into the embrace of your chest
-
and say we're glad you're back, we're glad you're home.
-
We've been waiting on you. We've been anticipating this
-
moment. I don't want to, you know, wait
-
past the time that they walk in and are clean and say, no, no,
-
we're going to wait a little longer before we show you any
-
attention or any affection. No, no, the moment that they
-
walk back, they're worthy of your embrace.
-
That even before they are God's love, no snow bounds.
-
I got to. I got to hurry.
-
Don't. Want to become one of those
-
lying preachers you know? Got to hurry. 2nd Corinthians.
-
Chapter #2 Go there, if you will.
-
We'll go there on the screen, but you might want to go there.
-
Second Corinthians chapter #2. There's some verses of.
-
Scripture here that that begin around like verse #5 or so that
-
the apostle. Paul and.
-
The church at Corinth had dealt with a incestuous man.
-
We gather this from. Paul's first letter to the to
-
the book. Or to the church at.
-
Corinth like in chapter #5 it kind of describes the incestuous
-
relationship that a man had had among his family.
-
So they had dealt. With this at Paul's.
-
Direction this person and it kind of.
-
Harmonizes a little. Bit with that being said,
-
outside the camp they were removed.
-
From. The church, and even by the.
-
Church of Corinth through the direction.
-
Of Paul and and the Lord. It was a collective effort, he
-
said outside of the tent. But it's important.
-
To know as you read through these passages.
-
Please listen to me there. I feel the Holy Ghost that as
-
you read. Through these passages,
-
something that Paul never does. Paul never mentions the man's
-
name. He only.
-
Speaks of this incestuous man in soft terms.
-
Like such a man. Or such a one because Paul
-
understands I'm writing a letter.
-
I'm putting. Pin to parchment and this is
-
going to become a permanent record 0 God, I'm writing a
-
letter here and this is going to be a permanent record and.
-
So I'm going to. Talk, yes, maybe about the
-
offense, but it's just such a one, such a man of like kind
-
because future generations, I don't want them to pull up this
-
permanent record. I don't want them to ever know
-
the man's name. I only want them to know how
-
they should respond. Watch it.
-
For six, he's picking back up on the story of this incestuous
-
man. He said sufficient to such.
-
A man is this punishment what he was set outside the camp, so to
-
speak. Which was inflicted of many why
-
it was a corporate. It was a corporate.
-
Doing of the Church. At Corinth.
-
Inflicted by many, he was set outside this in other words,
-
Paul's saying this man's. Punishment of being separated.
-
Is enough. The separation is enough of a
-
punishment. He was separated.
-
From the congregation he was. Separated.
-
From the corporate body this discipline all took place, but
-
that was sufficient. Look at verse 7 so that contrary
-
wise ye speaking to the Church of Corinth ought rather here's
-
what he's telling. Here's you don't need to know
-
his name, but this you need to know how to respond.
-
He. Ought rather to forgive him and
-
comfort him, lest such a one again.
-
He could have named the name, but he didn't.
-
Should be swallowed up with over much sorrow.
-
You know what Paul's saying. That man has already suffered
-
enough for his punishment. The day that the.
-
Deed was done, the suffering ensued, and from that moment
-
until now of him rejoining the church.
-
That man. Has already went through enough.
-
No one has to tell him what he did wrong.
-
Nobody's got to tell him how awful it was.
-
He knows he has felt that every day when he's been separated.
-
No one's got to point that out, he says.
-
But what we do need to do is when he's brought back among
-
you, he doesn't need more punishment.
-
What he he needs his forgiveness.
-
What he needs is comfort. Don't let his past failures
-
overtake him. You smother him with love.
-
You smother him with comfort you.
-
He says in verse. 8 Wherefore I beseech you, that ye confirm
-
your love toward. Him.
-
Somebody here this pastor? Today.
-
That the church should. Discuss.
-
Forgiveness more readily than they.
-
Discuss faults and failures I. Want to say that?
-
One more time. The church should discuss.
-
Forgiveness more readily than they.
-
Discuss faults and failures. What are you saying if?
-
I'm putting these terms of our text and story.
-
Today, don't be pointing out Miriam's bald head.
-
Pull it towards you. Her consequences?
-
Were sufficient. You waited for her now.
-
Love her if you can stand for me.
-
Today I'm hastening too close, man.
-
I'm just about right on schedule.
-
Whatever that means this is. Important.
-
I won't hold you much longer. Youth.
-
Class you probably. Hear me, you told.
-
Me to give you a sign. There's your sign.
-
The last recorded public event of Miriam's.
-
Life aside from her death. Wasn't.
-
Her sin. Wasn't.
-
Her being cut off wasn't. Her being ashamed the last
-
recorded. Public event of Miriam's life
-
was. Her.
-
Being. Restored everything that's.
-
Recorded about her from watching the basket of bull rushes to the
-
timber on the. Dance over the Jordan to her
-
failure. The last public.
-
Event recorded was nothing but about her restoration.
-
Galatians 6 and. One states these words many are
-
familiar with. Paul speaking to the church.
-
Of Galatia, he said, Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a
-
fault. Ye which are.
-
Spiritual and let's pause for a moment and define spiritual.
-
Spiritual is not that you see angels all day and you speak in
-
tongues 23 hours out 24 of the day being spiritual?
-
Is this those that are spiritual?
-
Are those that are filled with His spirit.
-
What does that mean? That brings the bar really low.
-
And then, please don't misunderstand me, that brings
-
the bar. Really low for those that can be
-
candidates as restorers. If you're filled.
-
With his spirit. You're a candidate.
-
To be a restorer to someone else, he said.
-
Brethren. She said.
-
If a man is overtaken in a fault, he which are.
-
Spiritual restore such and. Won in the spirit of meekness.
-
Now let's. Look at meekness.
-
You know the Bible talks about Moses.
-
Being one of the meekest. Men, meekness is not weakness.
-
Meekness, in the simplest definition, is this power under
-
control. You know what that.
-
Means you could cut their legs out from under them.
-
You could make light of the bald head of Miriam.
-
You, you, you'd had the power to do that.
-
But meekness says. I'm going to refrain from doing
-
that. Brethren, if any man be.
-
Overtaken the fault. Ye which are spiritual restore
-
such a one in a spirit of meekness.
-
Considering. Thyself.
-
Lest thou also be tempted, Aaron impart.
-
Was a part of it, but. It could have just easily.
-
Been Moses. For every David that.
-
Falls. There's a Solomon that will
-
fall. What are you saying?
-
None of us are exempt, per Southeast.
-
But what we all? Need to draw.
-
Comfort from is this is that. If it ever happens.
-
Will there be? A group of people that says
-
we're not going anywhere. We're just going to wait.
-
Right here. Until.
-
So and so in the Miriam's like so and so.
-
Our prop back. We didn't close our eyes.
-
Today admonish us today as a church, as a church family.
-
Let us this morning. If we can, let's let's commit to
-
creating a community, a church that mirrors God's mercy,
-
mirrors his long-suffering. We.
-
We need to be in a position that we're actively.
-
Trying to. Restore those who have been.
-
Overtaken by faults. Do that with a spirit of.
-
Meekness, the spirit of humility.
-
We need to be. We need to be guilty as a
-
congregation, as those that not only waits for the return of the
-
Merriams among us. But also embraces them
-
wholeheartedly. Confirming our love, encouraging
-
them on their journey back to wholeness.
-
Folks, as a church family, can I challenge us today and these?
-
Altars are open that as we move forward, let's ensure truly that
-
we're not. Going to leave anyone behind,
-
but we're going to hold on to the promise of their redeeming.
-
Their redemption and their reconciliation.
-
Because there's a spirit. About us that emulates the
-
Spirit of our God. That says I don't want to see
-
Andy perish. I don't want to see.
-
Any perish this altar. Is open today.
-
It's open to the camp. It's open to the congregation.
-
It's open to the Miriam's. It's open to the errands.
-
It's open to the Moseses, it's open to those that are stricken
-
with leprosy. It's open with those that have
-
just been cleansed and they had the marks of that cleansing and
-
that pass upon this their life. It's all here today.
-
It's all here today. We're we're not here.
-
We're not going to mention the name.
-
We don't want to permanently just document Amen, your offense
-
with your name and put that in perpetuity, Amen, perpetual Amen
-
for all generations and those to come know.
-
We want to stand here, Amen alone inside our Savior and say
-
that his grace is enough, His mercy is enough, and repentance
-
is powerful in the life of one that desires to stop being
-
separated from the camp that still would want to stop being
-
separated from God's house. No one left behind.
-
If there could be an errand this morning that would raise their
-
voice and say, let not this come, don't let them live as a
-
dead person. If there could be a Moses in the
-
church house today that could say God heal them now, heal them
-
now. These altars are open today.
-
You can pray up here you and pray in your Pew wherever you
-
had. I pray that you would be mindful
-
and have a prayerful spirit. I feel the presence of the
-
Master. I hear the footfall of the
-
Master. Amen.
-
Parading up and down these house today.
-
No one left behind. We're going to wait till they
-
come back. We're going to.
-
I stop with this, I will shut up.
-
You read throughout the old. Testament scripture that
-
ofttimes in their in their journeys that even the camp only
-
moved when the cloud or the presence of God moved from the
-
Tabernacle and went on. If that is the case for the
-
Mason. Then evidently the.
-
Cloud didn't move in those seven days, which is doing nothing but
-
God-given his endorsement to the waiting of the camp for the one
-
that was outside the camp. And if that's something that
-
God's Spirit endorses, it's something that I need to
-
embrace. Hallelujah.
-
Oh, can we talk to God right now, Brother Mason, you have
-
something prepared. People are praying.
-
People are talking to God. Hallelujah, you clean.
-
Come on home. You may have the end signs Amen,
-
of what was, but we've been waiting on you, and we're here
-
to embrace you.
