That God honors that Amen going to be turning to Exodus chapter
-
#8 Exodus chapter #8 and I concur and encourage system.
-
He already said please come and participate for a revival media
-
fast again. I mean, we, we set aside like 5
-
days, like consecrated effort. You know, there's some that's
-
already done 21 days. You know, I'm, I'm not putting
-
the comparison game out there. I'm saying surely we can just
-
succumb for a concentrated effort of five days.
-
Amen. Talk to the Lord collectively as
-
a body. Exodus chapter #8 And man, I got
-
some more new readers, folks. I'm telling you what went to
-
Aldi's and Vincents, and they had three in a pack.
-
So I'm, I'm just going to lay them around everywhere.
-
There's going to be readers everywhere.
-
They had more variety too. Stay away from that cheetah
-
stuff. Exodus chapter #8 verse #8 the
-
Bible says. Then Pharaoh called for Moses
-
and Aaron and said, entreat the Lord that he may take away the
-
frogs. So yes, we're right here in the
-
middle of the plagues from me and from my people, and I will
-
let the people go, that they may do sacrifice and to the Lord.
-
And Moses said unto Pharaoh, glory over me, when shall I
-
entreat for thee, for thy servants, and for thy people, to
-
destroy the frogs from thee, thy houses, that they may remain in
-
the river only. And he said, tomorrow, that's
-
not my subject today, but that's always just crazy, like we got a
-
frog problem. I want you to handle it
-
tomorrow, though. And he said, Be it according to
-
thy word, that thou mayest know that there is none like unto the
-
Lord our God. And the frog shall depart from
-
thee, and from thy house, and from thy servants, and from thy
-
people. They shall remain in the river
-
only. Verse 12 And Moses and Aaron
-
went out from Pharaoh, and Moses cried unto the Lord because of
-
the frogs which he had brought against Pharaoh.
-
And the Lord did according to the word of Moses.
-
And the frogs died out of the houses, out of the villages, and
-
out of the fields. Real focus today is that Moses
-
asked, when do you want this to happen?
-
He says tomorrow. The Bible says, though, when
-
Moses and Aaron left him in that same day, that's when Moses
-
started crying out to the Lord about it, not the next day, but
-
in the same day. And so with the mindset of
-
prayer revival coming this week, I want to speak to you simply
-
this, intercede today. Intercede today.
-
All right, let's go to the Lord and prayer.
-
God, we're so grateful today for another opportunity.
-
God, we are blessed, the Lord to have been here.
-
We're thankful, Lord, for the health, the mobility, God, even
-
to get here today. Lord bless you people, God
-
inspire us, instruct us. Let your word be everything that
-
it can Lord be to us in our lives that will not fail to
-
thank you for the lovely name of Jesus Christ that I pray Amen
-
and Amen. You may be seated this morning
-
in Jesus name. So this is a very significant
-
moment in Exodus chapter #8 for a few reasons.
-
Again, the kind of set the background of where we are.
-
The children of Israel has faced 400 years of bondage in Egypt.
-
Moses and Aaron were sent as deliverers of God's people and
-
the king of Egypt. Pharaoh has refused to allow
-
God's people to be let go and instead he he even worsens the
-
situation that they are under because Moses is Aaron has come
-
and made their plea to the children of Israel.
-
And so Pharaoh's seen that as though he was taking them away
-
from their duties and their jobs and obligations from their work
-
of building his cities. And as a result of that, then he
-
puts a hard thumb up on them with the beatings of the
-
leadership, so on and so forth and the hard taskmasters.
-
And he wanted them to produce the same number of bricks
-
required for them to have straw in order for there to be as a
-
binding agent to make bricks. And so he he wanted them to
-
still make bricks without him providing the straw.
-
And so the same number. But the Pharaoh that we're
-
Speaking of in Exodus chapter #8 is not the same Pharaoh that
-
Jace Joseph dealt with whenever he served as second command over
-
Egypt. The Pharaohs were expected to
-
live or and work in their office of being the king of Egypt for
-
their entire lives. And so it was no doubt not the
-
same Pharaoh. As a matter of fact, Exodus
-
tells us in Exodus one and eight that there arose up a new king
-
over Egypt which knew not, which knew not Joseph.
-
And so no doubt the Pharaoh that was in Joseph's lifetime had a
-
loose familiarity with the God of Israel.
-
It was Joseph's character and his wisdom and how he handled
-
himself that drove a deeper appreciation, no doubt of
-
Pharaoh for Joseph's God. It was Joseph that came before
-
Pharaoh when he called all of his magicians and soothsayers to
-
try to interpret the the two dreams that he had and none
-
could that Joseph came and Joseph let let Pharaoh know
-
emphatically that I can't necessarily tell you the
-
interpretation. The interpretation belongs into
-
the Lord and that God would be the one that would give this
-
interpretation. And as a result, all of that he
-
he even told him what he must do during the years of of famine in
-
order or plenty in order to have food during the years of famine.
-
And he told him the plan that he should do If you can find a
-
person to initialize this and favor was like he talked to
-
those leaders around him. He says, I don't know of a
-
another person in whom the Spirit of God is like you,
-
Joseph, that could that could, you know, do this and handle
-
this for us. And so all everything that
-
Joseph did, people came wanting grain and they would give money.
-
And when they ran out of money, then they would give of their
-
land in exchange. And when they ran out of land,
-
they were willing to give of themselves and their wife and
-
their children for exchange. And so the Egyptian empire
-
really came into be out of all this.
-
Here is now a man that has all the money of his land and then
-
the land and the people and so and so forth.
-
So Pharaoh became a greater king.
-
Egypt became a greater empire. But the Pharaoh of Exodus
-
chapter #8 is different, a different pharaoh because
-
whenever Moses and Aaron first approached him about releasing
-
the, the, the Hebrews, the children of Israel, this pharaoh
-
of of Exodus 8 said in Exodus five and two, he said, you're
-
saying that the Lord God of Israel wants me to let his
-
people go? His response was who is the Lord
-
who is the Lord I I know not the Lord.
-
He he doesn't know the Lord and therefore he's not going to
-
acknowledge the Lord. He's not going to acknowledge
-
something he doesn't know. And so he he looks at this, we
-
understand Hebrews even tells us that those that come to God must
-
believe that he is. And so in order for there to be
-
acknowledgement that there's some type of knowledge or at
-
least belief in that he exists and he's there.
-
And so this very initial inquiry a man that he had concerning who
-
is the Lord. I don't know the Lord and what's
-
going to happen through the plagues until the children of
-
Israel is released from the Egyptian bondage.
-
All of that is going to better equate the modern day Pharaoh
-
with the Lord. God even told Moses, he said
-
Moses, he said, when all of this is all over, when the dust has
-
settled and, and the final frog has made its place back in the
-
river and, and they're grieving the death of their first born
-
and all of that has happened. He said the Egyptians, which
-
includes Pharaoh, the Egyptians are going to know that I am the
-
Lord whenever, whenever Israel is walking out of here with a
-
high hand and its deliverance and they have spoiled the
-
Egyptians. So they're going to know then I
-
am the Lord. So up to this point where we're
-
at in scripture again, just for a little bit of setting what has
-
already happened. Aaron has thrown down his rod
-
and it's turned into a snake, right.
-
The magicians have come in and thrown down their rods and
-
they've become snakes as well. But Aaron's rod slash snake has
-
swallowed up all the others. He's there's already been the
-
turning of the Nile River or the water in the land there into
-
blood. A man by Aaron The Egyptian
-
magicians have come and done the same and now an Exodus 8 is the
-
second plague. It is the plague of frogs.
-
Hey, man, you can't say that without smiling.
-
The plague of frogs. Frogs have come upon the land.
-
They are everywhere. You read the Scripture.
-
They are in their houses. They are in their bedrooms.
-
They are in their beds. They are in their kneading
-
troughs. The Bible says they are in their
-
ovens. I mean, imagine, Sister Sheila,
-
open in your oven and here's a frog.
-
There's a frog everywhere Is a frog.
-
Frog. Oh, McDonald's, you know,
-
there's frogs everywhere that's in these places.
-
And so this this impact, though, encompasses Pharaoh, right?
-
This isn't just every other Egyptian except Pharaoh.
-
No, this is Pharaoh. His servants, all of Egypt is
-
being impacted by these frogs. And guess what?
-
The Egyptian magician show up and say, OK, we, I don't know
-
why you would want to do this, but we're going to put frogs on
-
the land too. We can do this.
-
But the thing of the plague of the frogs, it's not like, you
-
know, the frogs are going to harm everybody and we're all go
-
away for wars. I don't know.
-
But nonetheless, it's just a nuisance, right?
-
That amount one of frogs around is just a nuisance and and like
-
every other plague in the plagues of of that were given of
-
the 10, it kind of pinpointed a God that the the Egyptians
-
revered, right? The the the frogs were seen as a
-
God or they had a goddess in Egypt that was half woman in a
-
frog head. So what that meant, Brother
-
Reese, was is that the Egyptian couldn't go around and start
-
killing frogs because to do so would be a disrespect to one of
-
their gods. You look at all the other
-
plagues at pinpoints of really a, a, a God that the Egyptians
-
serve, which is why it was such ironic for them and, and, and
-
difficult for them. And so the magicians could bring
-
more frogs up on the land, but they were powerless to remove
-
the frogs from the land. They couldn't kill them.
-
They're gods. They couldn't get no relief for
-
their people. It's just something that was
-
taking place but no doubt serving all these a pantheon, if
-
you will, all these various numerous multitude gods in
-
Egypt. They did have a sense of
-
religion to them. All right, a sense of religion.
-
Just welcome me here today. I'm really in teaching mode
-
learning thing that if you see this ever on my ear, that's you
-
the why. All right, Matthew Alper in a
-
book called The God Part of the Brain said this and I quote, he
-
said, I remember the position held by the sciences that if a
-
behavior was universal to any given species or in the case of
-
humans to all cultures, it is most likely represents an
-
inherited characteristic of that species.
-
That is a genetically inherited trait.
-
And as surely as all human cultures have spoken a language
-
or engaged in sexual reproduction, all cultures have
-
practiced religion in conjunction with a belief in
-
some form of a spiritual reality.
-
In other words, what he's saying is this.
-
He says since all cultures have spoken language and involved in
-
sexual reproduction, that those two things must be a part of the
-
genetic mechanism of humanity, all humanity.
-
But he says likewise all cultures seem to practice also
-
religion. It's having some type of
-
spiritual reality. So he's saying that maybe there
-
is this God part that's inside of humanity because since it's
-
across all cultures, maybe it's something that's genetically
-
embedded, this want for something beyond ourselves,
-
something for a higher power, something beyond the the just
-
external of our own lives, a religious component, if you
-
will, to mankind, regardless of how it appears from culture to
-
culture, place to place. He's arguing that there may be a
-
genetically thing that's a part of our design.
-
And whenever I read that before, several years ago, I thought
-
about Solomon in the book of Ecclesiastes, because in
-
Ecclesiastes 3 and 11, he says he and he's Speaking of God have
-
set the world, which is also translated as eternity in their
-
heart. The word heart in the Old
-
Testament many times is is translated heart or mind or so
-
that God, God had set eternity in their heart, if you'll allow
-
me and you got the amplified up there.
-
Read it from here. He has made everything beautiful
-
in his time. He also has planted eternity in
-
men's hearts and minds. A divinely implanted sense of a
-
purpose, working through the ages, which nothing under the
-
sun but God alone can satisfy yet so that men cannot find out
-
what God has done from the beginning to the end.
-
God, even Solomon, says God has placed inside of humanity
-
something that's beyond the here and now, a desire, a drawing for
-
the eternal. If I could say like this, God
-
has made it a part of our genetic makeup to, to want a
-
higher being, to want to serve a greater purpose.
-
That is in part why the Egyptians are grappling with all
-
their various gods. They're on the journey trying to
-
find, Hey, man, what God has created in mankind, that longing
-
that if you will, that God void that they really need filled
-
people fill it with all type of stuff, right?
-
They, they, they, they try to, to, to satisfy with all type of
-
stuff, but only the creator that created them is really able to
-
satisfy that right? And so they're on the journey.
-
It's what fuels us this morning for our search for the God of
-
the Bible that we're pulling toward that we we want to be
-
more like him. And The thing is, if he set
-
eternity in our lives, then only the eternal can satisfy that
-
loaning. Only the eternal can satisfy
-
that longing. That's the reason why for
-
various other groups in the world today, Confucius fails in
-
that regard, Haira Krishna fails in that regard, Muhammad fails,
-
Joseph Smith fails. Why?
-
None of these are eternal leaders or eternal beings.
-
Amen. Only your God.
-
Amen is the eternal one. Timothy said now unto the king,
-
eternal, immortal, invisible, the only, only wise God be honor
-
and glory forever and ever. And so only a eternal king can
-
satisfy the eternity longing, Amen.
-
That's inside of the heart of mankind.
-
Nothing else compares, Amen. But since cultures have this,
-
this, this, this desire, right, this longing, however it is,
-
they fulfill it or try to feel it, it's there.
-
It is also known fact. This is not my fact, this is
-
studies fact that every every religion in the world encourages
-
daily prayer. Doesn't matter what your flavor
-
is, Every religion in the world encourages daily prayer.
-
With that enters Pharaoh in our story.
-
He's an Egyptian king, but if I if I can, he's not unlike the
-
rest of humanity that has a pool towards some religious reality,
-
spiritual fact of eternity, right and being in their
-
religion again, there is a prayer orientation to them all
-
right. He understands all of this.
-
But here they are powerless to change their dilemma of these
-
frogs in the oven, in the bed, roll over to kiss your wife at
-
night and frog. It's powerless to do this.
-
Magicians can put more on it, but they can't eliminate this
-
so-called God or goddess that they serve because to mistreat
-
the frog again would be disrespect their God.
-
So whenever Pharaoh enters into this picture, this whole
-
dynamic, Please note that Pharaoh doesn't ask his
-
magicians to try to remove the frogs.
-
He doesn't say to them, hey guys, will you remove the frogs?
-
He doesn't come really to Moses and Aaron themselves as
-
individuals and are asking them as mere other humans to remove
-
the frogs. He doesn't ask that.
-
Whenever he comes to them, he is asking them.
-
He said, entreat, entreat the Lord and treat the Lord for us,
-
and treat the Lord for me. That word entreat means to pray.
-
It means to intercede. Moses and Aaron intercede and
-
pray on my behalf. Amen.
-
That this thing would just go away.
-
You got to get this in your mind.
-
This man is the highest power in Egypt.
-
He is the man with the greatest clout in Egypt, the most
-
powerful king of that time and of one of the greatest empires
-
of that time. He's acquired all the money of
-
the land, all the land, all the people, the slaves, the souls,
-
if you will, during the years of famine.
-
He had everything that he wanted, dare I say even needed.
-
But at this moment, he realized I need a interceding Hebrew to
-
arrest heaven for me, a man, so that this situation that we're
-
presently living in just might change.
-
Someone came in. Not only that, here's something
-
important I think, for us to grasp.
-
Pharaoh understood the dynamics of what it was, was needed in
-
order to reverse this thing. He, he, he, it wasn't his money,
-
It wasn't all of his, his real estate.
-
That's not what he needed. He needed, if you will, some
-
prayer. He needed some prayer.
-
He understood what it took to access a God.
-
Even in their own religion, they knew if I'm going to have access
-
to God, commune with God, have have, if you will, any sway with
-
God, I'm going to have to talk to God.
-
I'm going to have to pray. He knew what was necessary in
-
order to have access even to the God of Israel, and that came
-
through the power of prayer, Amen.
-
It happened by prayer. Someone had to commune with that
-
God, tap into his power and his influence and see what would
-
happen. And so in essence, Pharaoh was
-
calling Moses and Aaron, he's asking for them to go to
-
intercessory prayer. Amen.
-
Because to intercede means to stand in the gap for somebody or
-
a situation, right? It may even accompany travail.
-
It may accompany some deep spiritual intensity, Amen.
-
When they might even not not not be able to pray for themselves,
-
it's stepping into that place. I've noticed this morning I am
-
talking intercede today. I've noticed that that
-
intercession many times comes spontaneously.
-
Spontaneously, there have been times, and I'm just telling you
-
this so you'd be sensitive to it.
-
There are times in your normal, just everyday prayer that a
-
person's name can come to your mind that you wasn't praying
-
about at that moment. But a person's name comes to
-
your mind and you're deeply impressed upon your heart and
-
your spirit for them in that moment.
-
That is a call and a draw for interceding or praying on behalf
-
of that individual, particularly in that moment, particularly in
-
that moment. And so that's driven me.
-
Sometimes that's happened and I've switched gears and I just
-
follow what I'm feeling that moment, praying over that
-
individual. And there are many times that I
-
reach out to them after all of that said and done and just let
-
them know, hey, you was on my mind today, been praying for
-
you. And they might turn back around
-
and say exactly why they needed prayer in that moment or today.
-
Or they just might as well say things not doing that, you know,
-
and there might not be anything going on.
-
And I just told him I've been praying for them.
-
Well, what's embarrassing about that?
-
I mean, seriously rather sure What what's, what's embarrassing
-
about just letting someone know I prayed for you today.
-
Amen. But it could be that it was a
-
divine intersection. There's other times that you
-
might pray over people's circumstances or situations,
-
right, that that that may be overwhelming them and, and you
-
start to feel in your prayer, there's a very deep empathy,
-
right? It's almost as though you're
-
almost starting to feel perhaps what they may be feeling about
-
what they are going through. And so you start to pray almost
-
as though it happened to you, right?
-
And you begin to pray. And so you're taking them and
-
their needs to God in fervent prayer.
-
And it's in these moments you got to allow yourself and, and
-
the only thing way I can describe it, allow yourself just
-
to get lost in prayer. I have noticed that during times
-
whenever God wants me to intercede, man, everything else
-
doesn't matter, right? What's going around me.
-
I don't even, I don't really take inventory of where I'm at,
-
what's going on, what the time of day is because I'm just in a
-
mode right now. Somebody needs something or a
-
situation needs something. And So what?
-
I'm going to intercede now. I'm going to intercede today.
-
I'm going to intercede in the moment.
-
Amen. Until I feel that that lift of
-
God off of my life in 2023, just case in point, in 2023, Brother
-
Mason was experiencing one of his very, very he was
-
experiencing a very bad mode of his manears and Vertigo in, in
-
the the spring or end of winter if you will type of session.
-
And all of this was going on and I was praying one morning at the
-
house and I was praying and it was his need, that whole need.
-
I prayed for him, you know, each day for that.
-
But this was different, you know, when it's different.
-
And then his knee just overtook me and I, I begin to cry out to
-
God and I begin to speak in tongues.
-
And I'm going to talk about that here in just a little bit.
-
I begin to speak in tongues and I begin to petition heaven and
-
man I, I, I'm not him, but man, I begin just to feel some things
-
that that that that just I hadn't felt before.
-
I could only feel as though maybe I was feeling what he was
-
feeling. And I begin to cry out to God
-
for his health and such and pray for him.
-
And I later then text Sister Mason.
-
She's can hear me back there and she probably may still have the
-
text, but I told her, I said, Roberta, I said, and it didn't
-
just happen. Then I got up all through my
-
day, different moments. It would just sweep in and feel
-
like I was being overtaken by the moment and begin praying
-
again. Sideswipe me.
-
And I told Roberta, I said there's been different times
-
today. I said Jerry man, it's just been
-
hitting me left and right been interceding for him.
-
I said every time that that wave would come.
-
I said I felt the spirit of the Lord saying this to me for I am
-
the Lord that healeth thee, for I am the Lord that healeth thee,
-
for I am the Lord that heareth thee.
-
And she responded back to me. She says Jerry said today that
-
he's 90% better than he was last night.
-
What is that, that someone standing in the gap, that
-
someone making up the hedge that's interceding today?
-
Amen. Watch, if you will, the
-
progression of Acts chapter #8 Acts 8, verse 8.
-
Pharaoh, He says, entreat the Lord.
-
Verse #9 And I'm just going to walk through just a little bit
-
there, brother, alone if you want to throw them up.
-
Verse #9 Moses says, When shall I entreat for thee?
-
Verse 10 Pharaoh says, tomorrow. Moses says, Be it according to
-
thy word. Verse 12 Moses cries into the
-
Lord after he and Aaron had went out from Pharaoh.
-
They cried in the same day that it was asked in verse 13 the
-
Bible says, And the Lord did according to the word of Moses.
-
Folks, this little passage of scriptures that drove me nuts
-
because I've read it 1000 times. I've read what other people's
-
thought about it and I know there's sermons people have
-
preached out there one more night with the frogs on so
-
forth. And so some argue that it indeed
-
happened the next day because Moses said according to your
-
word and then God did it according to Moses's word is
-
what the scripture says though. But what's so interesting to me
-
is that he asked for tomorrow, but Moses started praying the
-
day and almost the the line in the Scripture as though
-
deliverance came in the same day.
-
So I don't know where it is. I could probably have a good
-
argument with someone over it right now.
-
But the fact that the matter is Pharaoh's asking for tomorrow.
-
But Moses started the prayer today.
-
And so as I look at all that Brother Bishop, I, I, I look at
-
it and I concentrate on and it was, it was making me
-
aggravated, tell you the truth, as I was trying to figure out
-
the conundrum of did it happen today or did it happen then
-
tomorrow? As I looked at it and I studied
-
a little bit more, I realize this.
-
Regardless of when the frogs died, whether it was the next
-
day or whether it was the same day, Moses still entreated the
-
Lord, not the next day, but he did today.
-
And so the message then became more clear to me.
-
Despite the circumstances and despite the request, you always
-
intercede today. You know someone, I say,
-
Remember Me, blah, blah, blah. And it's some future.
-
You intercede today. You can do it that day too.
-
But folks, there are some things in this life that we don't have
-
time to wait. We don't have time to do our
-
thumbs around as though we're just, no, we need to pray, we
-
need to intercede. We need to touch heaven.
-
We need to stand in the gap today.
-
We got to intercede today. Pharaoh asked for this
-
intercession, but again it plays out.
-
Moses cried. Look how it plays out.
-
He says, I asked, He said I asked for tomorrow.
-
But Moses, the Bible said, cried out.
-
And to the Lord that word cry means that he cried out or he
-
summoned. That word cried means it refers
-
to a shouting, a pleading of relief or justice, a calling for
-
help. As a matter of fact, over half
-
of the usages of this word that's used in the Bible is half
-
of them are always directed to God.
-
It's the cry that a man would use in a moment of a despairing
-
crisis. Moses's prayer, his cry, his
-
call was a cry and a call for deliverance.
-
It was a lament cry, a loud cry. The the definition says it's a
-
loud cry that's driven with emotion that's coupled with
-
other physical responses. And it says that the loudness
-
isn't for the sake of wanting to be heard.
-
It's for the sake of just the emotion of the urgency of the
-
need. Now I found I found something
-
interesting and and and maybe others will as well.
-
And if you've never played a part intercessory heard this is
-
what this is about this morning. I am promoting, I am encouraging
-
Amen to give yourself over to the sensitivity of of that in
-
those times. I have found this is not
-
something I read this something I know I experience.
-
I have found that intercessory prayer is often accompanied by
-
praying in the Holy Ghost. New Testament scripture talks
-
about praying in the Holy Ghost. All right, if you've been born
-
again in the water of the Spirit and the Spirit of God dwells in
-
you, you can pray in the Holy Ghost.
-
Now this is not hocus pocus guys.
-
This is this is Bible when you pray and that you've heard me
-
say this, I'll say it again. When you pray in the Holy Ghost,
-
you might be praying things that you do not understand what
-
you're praying, but God understands.
-
Let's go to Scripture, 1st Corinthians 14, verse 14 and 15,
-
the apostle Paul said to the Church of Corinth, for if I pray
-
in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is
-
unfruitful. Verse 15, what is it?
-
Then I will pray with the Spirit, and I will pray with the
-
understanding. Also, I will sing with the
-
Spirit. We don't talk about this a lot,
-
do we? Now let me tell you, my grandma
-
Weisenberger, pray. She's sang in tongues, he says.
-
I'll sing with the Spirit and I will sing with the
-
understanding. Also, whenever you pray in an
-
unknown tongue. And 1st Corinthians 13 tells us
-
that we speak with tongues of men or of angels, right?
-
He says, though I speak with tongues of men or angels and
-
have not charity, I'm as a sounding brass and a tinkling
-
symbol, but speaking with tongues of men or angels.
-
Whenever someone receives a gift that the Holy Ghost, they may
-
speak with tongues of men. It may be another language that
-
is not their mother tongue that they speak in or they might
-
speak with the tongue of an Angel that is not known to any
-
society here upon the earth, but it is a known tongue, Amen, that
-
is being spoken. And so Speaking of tongues of
-
men or angels, he says, I'm praying in the spirit.
-
And so when we talk about this, the the modern day lingo out
-
there today is this listen to me.
-
People talk about their prayer language.
-
People talk about their prayer language.
-
Let me say this and I'm going to get this thing all wrapped up.
-
My prayer language is my birth language.
-
And I'm not talking about my natural birth.
-
Can you hear me? My prayer language is my birth
-
language, my born again language, my born again
-
language. All right.
-
I, I got a native tongue when I was naturally born, but whenever
-
I was born with the water and the spirit, I got a language
-
then as well. Amen.
-
And so I'm talking about my born again experience in Acts 2 and
-
four. And it, it's up there this
-
morning. And they were all filled with
-
the Holy Ghost and begin to speak with other tongues as the
-
Spirit gave them utterance. And so whenever I pray in
-
tongues or I'm using my prayer language so to speak, that same
-
spirit that we were filled with initially now is interceding
-
through you. It's interceding through you.
-
And as Corinthians tells us, we don't understand.
-
He says whenever I pray in the Spirit, he said, I don't
-
understand. Amen.
-
Well, yeah, you don't, but God does.
-
And to pray with your understanding then is to pray in
-
the language like I'm talking right now and I go, I pray to
-
God a lot. My native tongue that I was born
-
here with English, the English language, I talked to God.
-
But but Paul put the emphasis on it here.
-
He says don't, don't leave one or the other out.
-
You need to pray in the Spirit and you also need to pray, if
-
you will, as as a man in your native given tongue that you
-
were born and reared in. You need to do both.
-
Can I emphasize that? You did.
-
The scripture says praying in the Holy Ghost, building up your
-
most holy faith. You need to do both.
-
Why? Because whenever I pray to God
-
right here, I'm talking to God. Everything I have knowledge of
-
and know about and things I'm aware of.
-
But whenever I get into the Spirit, begin to pray in the
-
Holy Ghost, He's there. That Spirit begins to pray
-
through me about things my natural mind has No, I don't
-
have any idea. I'm praying about stuff.
-
I don't know what's going on in somebody's life, but the Spirit
-
who knows who is omnipotent and omnipresent, Amen, who knows all
-
those things is doing it through me for a circumstance I don't
-
know about, for a situation or even maybe the name of a person
-
that I've never met. That's how God uses his body.
-
We're the church. We're the body of Christ.
-
And so whenever this happens, man, this, this is absolutely
-
important. Look, if you will at Romans
-
chapter #8 and verse #26 and I'm trying to move along here.
-
Likewise. Likewise, the Spirit also help
-
with our infirmities. For we know not what we should
-
pray for as we ought. You ever been there, didn't
-
really know how to pray about something or a situation, or we
-
know not what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit
-
itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot
-
be uttered. And he that searches the hearts
-
knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh
-
intercession for the Saints according to the will of God.
-
The Spirit helpeth our infirmities, The Spirit, the
-
Holy Spirit, the Holy Ghost, Christ in you, the hope of glory
-
helps or supports you in carrying your burdens, your
-
weaknesses, other people's burdens, other people's
-
weaknesses. And as an individual, again, I
-
don't always know what to pray about man.
-
There's, there's things that happen in life.
-
Sometimes it leaves me scratching my head as a man.
-
But Brother Fred, if in my prayer I can get out of that
-
form and get into to the Spirit, the Spirit knows how to pray
-
about it when I don't. Amen.
-
I don't know the best way maybe to pray about your needs and
-
what you're going through. It's just so overwhelming to my
-
mind as an individual. But if I can get in the Spirit,
-
he has a way of handling all those things.
-
And the Spirit, the Holy Ghost, which I received, the Bible says
-
it makes intercession. It, it may be making
-
intercession on my behalf. It may be making intercession on
-
the behalf of somebody else. It may be making intercession on
-
the behalf of someone else's circumstance.
-
And, and the Bible, look what the Scripture even says, maketh
-
intercession with groanings which cannot be uttered.
-
Oh, brother McGee, listen to me. There are some things that are
-
just so just out there. Sometimes even as a real human,
-
I don't have words sufficient. I don't have words sufficient to
-
describe or at that moment to even help.
-
He says sometimes the spirit, it, it is sometimes unspeakable.
-
It's not as though there's an utterance, but there's just a
-
connection in the realm of the Spirit.
-
I'm just check me off as crazy, but there's sometimes in prayer
-
I can't do anything. But just like you understand
-
what I'm saying. I don't know.
-
There's no utterance, but there is a connection.
-
There's just some type of feeling that is there.
-
Amen. And look what the Bible told us
-
there in Romans. It tells us that he that Spirit
-
searches the hearts and know of what is the mind of the Spirit?
-
Jeremiah 1710 tells us the saying.
-
It tells us that God searches the hearts.
-
God knows the mind of the Spirit.
-
God knows the mind of the Spirit.
-
And even if it is a unspeakable connection, God knows the mind
-
of the Spirit. He knows the mind of the Spirit.
-
God knows what the Spirit's getting at.
-
God knows what the Spirit is directing God, and it that
-
Spirit then makes intercession. Watch this according to the will
-
of God, according to the will of God.
-
That's important because when we just approach prayer, we are a
-
monster scripture. We should approach prayer and
-
pray according to God's will. And the Bible says if we do
-
that, we will have what we request.
-
But the caveat is this, right? Going to God, praying his will.
-
We're praying what McGee wants. Because see, I see a situation
-
in this situation, I believe this is what should happen.
-
And McGee says, I'm going to pray according to this outcome.
-
And as much as that might be what God may want to do is
-
contradictory to what we think should be done.
-
We got to pray according to God's will, Huh?
-
We got to pray according to God's will.
-
And so we come frustrated sometimes what we frustrate and
-
we're praying and all these things.
-
But even Jesus, whenever he taught his disciples what we
-
call the Lord's Prayer, which is really the disciples prayer, but
-
what we call the Lord's Prayer, He taught them what he teach
-
them. He said when you pray thy
-
Kingdom come this way, you pray guys, Thy will be done in earth
-
as it is in heaven. Run with me if you will.
-
First John chapter #5 verse 14 and 15.
-
And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask
-
anything according to His will, He heareth us.
-
And if we know that He heareth us whatsoever we ask, we know
-
that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.
-
Listen, Pastor Mcgee's not up here telling you to turn your
-
prayer into a blab it and grab it.
-
Say it and have it type of prayer session.
-
But prayers the Bible said prayers according to his will
-
are heard and will be answered. So if I want to remove the
-
possibility of Paul McGee not praying according to his will,
-
you know a good good guarantee to not to get that wrong.
-
Pray in the Spirit because Romans says that it prays
-
according to God's will. If I want to remove the human
-
factor of the air possibility there, then just slip over into
-
praying in the Spirit because the Spirit will always pray
-
according to God's will. And I'm feeling the Holy Ghost
-
here right now. First John 2 and verse one the
-
Bible says, my little children, these things write I unto you
-
that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have
-
everybody say an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the
-
the righteous. The word advocate is
-
pericolitos. If you want to brush up on your
-
Greek, all right, but it means an intercessor.
-
We have an intercessor. It means consoler.
-
It means comforter. That's those things that we have
-
known even from John 14 and I have Scripture up there,
-
brethren, whenever Jesus said I'm going to go away, but I'm
-
not going to leave you comfortless, I'm going to send a
-
comforter, which is the Holy Ghost.
-
What are you saying? Comforter, consoler, intercessor
-
you speak with all those things in which the Holy Ghost would be
-
to us. And that Holy Ghost, mind you,
-
you look in the Scriptures like in Romans 8.
-
It is both called the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ.
-
Amen said it will. It will intercede.
-
It will intercede for you if you send it, whatever it is that has
-
happened. You have an advocate, You have
-
an intercessor, Amen, with the Father.
-
That that, that Paraclete or that comforter is one who is
-
called to one side as an aide, one who pleads the cause of
-
another, a defense counsel, if you will.
-
In the very broadest of sense, it's just a helper.
-
It's assistant. You have an intercessor.
-
So if all that being said, folks, this week, at least five
-
days here at the church, there might be times as we're
-
collectively here together that God would move into this place
-
and cause you to start interceding for situations or
-
maybe another St. or maybe a Sinner.
-
Here we go or maybe your enemy. What?
-
Let's look at the let's look at the relationship here, really
-
with Moses and Pharaoh, Moses and Pharaoh, Pharaoh pleads with
-
Moses intercede for me. I understand Old Testament.
-
New Testament, the picture of intercession looks a little
-
different because in the Old Testament the Spirit has not yet
-
been given, because Christ has not yet been glorified.
-
And so the best that the Old Testament could have is the
-
Spirit of the Lord moving on them or upon them.
-
New Testament, it gets more intimate.
-
The Spirit of God can move inside of a person, all right.
-
And so I understand there may be a little difference, but
-
nonetheless, here's Moses to the best of his ability, He is
-
interceding, Amen, for Pharaoh, for Pharaoh's servants, for the
-
Egyptian nation, Amen to the utmost possibility that his
-
disposition, his dispensation, and his heir, Amen, would, would
-
provide. And so he's crying out loudly.
-
He's crying for deliverance. It's an emotional plea with
-
physical responses, all this stuff.
-
And by all standards, Pharaoh was a Sinner.
-
By all standards, Pharaoh was the enemy of God and of Moses.
-
Pharaoh was lost, but Moses interceded, interceded for him.
-
I'm running. I'm so sorry, folks.
-
Matthew 544. Jesus says, but I say, and do
-
you love your enemies, bless them that curse you do good to
-
them that hate you, pray for them, which despitefully use you
-
and persecute you. What pray for them?
-
What pray because the context started here talking about the
-
enemies. Those are just kind of given
-
other if you will, explanations and and and causations of why
-
that person might be your enemy, right.
-
They they they despitefully using you persecuting you just
-
pray. Pray then for them.
-
The word for in Matthew 5 where it says pray for them.
-
The word for is a word that doesn't just mean over, it means
-
over. So pray over them, right?
-
You've had that happen for your life.
-
But it also means pray and behalf of them for the sake of
-
them on the part. What's it talking about?
-
Intercede for them. I don't just pray over my
-
enemies. I pray on their behalf.
-
I'm not just saying God help so and so I'm doing a gap standing
-
prayer. I'm pleading.
-
I'm pleading with the Lord. You can stand with me today.
-
I'll close up, intercede today, intercede today.
-
So it's important that intercession is not just some
-
past thing regulated for the Old Testaments in the New Testament
-
as well. Equally as much it is present
-
day practice as well. Pharaoh may not knew the Lord
-
like Moses knew the Lord, but he did recognize the power of
-
prayer. You tell, listen to me folks.
-
Is that not the case? How many people do you know that
-
may not know the Lord on a level of relationship that you know
-
the Lord, but they know the power of prayer and what do they
-
do? They'll call your number or
-
they'll see you and they'll say, will you please pray?
-
Now we give the Oh yeah, I'll pray for you and whether we ever
-
do, I'll leave that in your court.
-
But nonetheless, so if a Pagan king understood the necessity of
-
someone standing in the gap for him, then Brother Fred, I'm
-
asking myself, how much more should I as a child of God, then
-
stand in that gap? And Moses didn't delay Sister
-
McGee. He cried out that very day and
-
God responded. And So what I'm asking us here
-
today, this week, continuing onward, is that we intercede
-
without delay because there's people in your families, there's
-
people in our churches, there's people in our communities who
-
are overwhelmed with life and burdens and situations that they
-
cannot remove. And some of them don't even
-
know, it seems like, how to reach out to God.
-
But you do, You do. Hey man, so we need to cry out
-
to God, plead, stand in the gap. Hey man, we need to take it up
-
on our responsibility. Folks.
-
It would not hurt me one bit if I came in this church and I was
-
praying and all of a sudden it's like, man, am I in the first
-
Apostolic Church? I don't hear 1 lick of English
-
going on around here. That doesn't bother me.
-
It would not hurt my feelings if I hurt someone over in the
-
corner. Like what's going on?
-
It's unspeakable. It's grown and can't be uttered.
-
But I guarantee you in that woo something is happening.
-
But Hattano Boshaya, I've I've been exposed to too much.
-
Cut my teeth on the back of the Pew whenever some little old
-
lady somewhere is going. The hair of your neck stands up
-
on the back of your neck. Because that's not showmanship.
-
That's not artificial. That's somebody that's plugged
-
into something and something's going on in that moment.
-
If we bow our heads across this place, I'm asking us this week,
-
will we be found like Moses this week?
-
Someone be fervent. New Testament says the effectual
-
fervent prayer of a righteous man developed much.
-
Will someone be fervent? Will someone be immediate?
-
Will someone be unwavering in our prayers?
-
Because God may be wanting to intercede with His Spirit
-
through you, someone needs to maybe give a cry of deliverance
-
on behalf of someone this week, a cry of healing on behalf of
-
someone this week, a cry of salvation on behalf of someone
-
this week. What you saying, Pastor?
-
I'm saying pray, intercede today.
-
And when we do, we can trust that.
-
We can trust that that just as he did for Moses, the Lord will
-
respond to our prayers. Don't wait till tomorrow, do it
-
today. Hallelujah, Jesus, these altars
-
are open this morning. This would be a really good
-
response time today for us to go on and just move into a place of
-
prayer right now where they're in your Pew at the altar,
-
standing, kneeling. I don't care what your position
-
is, but move into a place of prayer right now and have a
-
conversation with God saying God, I'm hearing today.
-
I know there's a society all around me and some are saying
-
Lord, deliverance tomorrow or next week or maybe someday, but
-
God, I'm not waiting for the someday to start praying.
-
I'm going to pray today. I'm going to intercede today.
-
I'm going to petition heaven today.
-
God, I'm going to cry out to you, God, if you want to use me
-
as a vestal Lord on behalf of somebody else, help me, Lord, to
-
be sensitive to that Lord and to operate Lord Jesus in that.
-
Somebody's in need today. Somebody needs healing today.
-
Somebody has circumstances beyond their capability today.
-
Somebody needs salvation today. Somebody needs the light of the
-
glorious gospel to shine into their light today.
-
Somebody intercede today, Hennessy today.
-
Hello, Shamda Lavinio Bo Sataye. Pray with your understanding.
-
Pray in the spirit, Hennessy today.
-
We're not sitting around trying to hear what someone else says.
-
We're just trying to hear what heaven is saying.
-
We're just trying to hear what the unction of the Almighty is
-
directing. Hallelujah, Jesus.
