Amen. He's good all the time.
-
He is good. Amen.
-
Thank you for your faithfulness to the House of the Lord
-
tonight. It is good to.
-
Be here. It is I, I have not personally
-
been sick, but it is good to be healthy and I'm sure those that
-
have been sick and say Amen. Those that have not been sick
-
and say Amen. Very thankful, very thankful.
-
If you could stand for the reading of the word Exodus 33
-
and 12 where I'm going to be starting here.
-
Want to give honor to pastor and sister McGee as they they're out
-
of town. But I love and appreciate them
-
and hope not only that they were a blessing, but that they were
-
ministered to their their dear friends with the King.
-
So I'm sure they had they had a great time.
-
A lot of laughs, I'm certain. Love and appreciate our Bishop
-
and his wife, my grandparents. I am partial, but they are they
-
are just it. They are it.
-
Love and appreciate my parents, their support, my wife and I,
-
and our ministry and our life. And nothing does me does me any
-
better than to see the joy that they have to to be grandparents.
-
I'm very excited. I'm excited for them.
-
If you see how they are with our dogs, I know that our grand our
-
kids will be perfectly fine, but love them and I love my
-
beautiful wife. I am.
-
I'm so grateful for her. Every day I just fall more in
-
love with her and she is precious to me and she she is a
-
trooper and I, I just couldn't do.
-
I couldn't do life without. Her and I'm so glad I don't have
-
to. I'm so glad I do not have to.
-
And so we are absolutely ecstatic.
-
We are so. Glad we are able to just.
-
Say it because we were done. I know she was in particular,
-
but I was also done with having who does know who doesn't know
-
is the whole monkey bar situation of making sure we
-
don't we don't slip it out or make sure that no one no one
-
people that are unawares before we were able to make the
-
announcements. So thank you for your love
-
already and I know that this church will love our our child
-
and and I'm I'm so grateful to know that even.
-
Beforehand I I've. I've seen it first hand and I
-
know that our kid will also get that same love and I am, I'm
-
grateful, grateful unto you, church body for that tonight.
-
Starting in Exodus 33 and verse. Verse #12.
-
Says And Moses said unto the Lord, See thou sayest.
-
Unto me bring up this people, and thou has not let.
-
Me know whom? Thou will sit with me, yet thou
-
hast said. I know thee by name.
-
And thou hast also found grace in my sight.
-
Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in Thy sight,
-
show me not. Show me now Thy way, that I may
-
know thee, that I may find. Grace in thy sight, and consider
-
that this. Nation is thy people, and he
-
said my presence shall. Go with thee, and I will give
-
thee rest. And he said unto.
-
Him if thy presence go not with me.
-
Say go, not with me. Carry us, not a Pence.
-
For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have
-
found? Grace in thy sight.
-
Is it not that in in that thou goest with us, so shall we be
-
separated I and thy people from all the people that are upon the
-
face of the earth and the. Lord said unto Moses, I will do
-
this thing also, that thou has spoken, for thou has found grace
-
in my sight, and I know thee by name.
-
Amen. Reflecting on verse 15, he said
-
unto him, If thy. Presence go.
-
Not with me, carry us, not a Pence.
-
I have a thought tonight and I feel like we've been, we've been
-
hitting up against something tonight and we haven't quite
-
pushed through it but. A thought the title It's just
-
land without the promise. It's just land without the
-
promise. Wonder if you can set.
-
Your Bibles down, lift your hands.
-
Help me pray tonight. God, I ask you just to.
-
Move to this place. Lord, let your will be done.
-
Your spirit is present. In this place.
-
Help us know. That we would entertain.
-
You God, your will would be done.
-
Lord anoint my lips of play, and then I when he will be spoken to
-
people today, or prepare hearts and minds Lord is planting
-
around with. The word that you.
-
Will not turn before, but you can just have your way in this
-
place and they won't fail to give you the honor and the glory
-
and the power in Jesus mighty name.
-
We pray and everyone said in Jesus name, you may be seated
-
tonight. Where we start out in our
-
reading there needs to. Be a little bit of.
-
Context before we got to this moment in.
-
Exodus 33 we have to understand. Why?
-
God told Moses slightly earlier in chapter 33 He would not go
-
with the people to the Promised Land.
-
While Moses was on Mount Sinai, he was receiving the 10
-
commandments in the instructions for the Tabernacle the first
-
time, and the Israelites grew impatient.
-
They thought Moses had been gone too long, so they demanded that
-
Aaron make them a God that they could worship.
-
In Exodus 32 and four it even says.
-
And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a
-
graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf.
-
And they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought
-
thee up out of the. Land of Egypt.
-
They worshipped a golden calf by substituting it for God, even to
-
the sense of saying which they have brought us out of the land
-
of Egypt, giving it glory instead.
-
Of the deliverer who was. God declaring it their
-
deliverer. They sacrificed to it, they
-
danced around it, they gave glory to an idol instead of the
-
one who actually freed them. God's response quite quickly in
-
just three verses. Later in verse 7 says, And the
-
Lord said unto Moses, Go get thee down.
-
For thy people which thou brought us out of the land of
-
Egypt, have corrupted themselves.
-
They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded
-
them. They have made them a molten
-
calf and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and
-
have said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee
-
up out of the land of Egypt. God was so angry that he
-
threatened to destroy them entirely and start over with
-
Moses. Sounds pretty familiar, but
-
Moses interceded on their behalf.
-
He pleaded with God to spare them.
-
However, even after Moses's intercession, God declared in
-
verse 3 of chapter 33. He said unto a land flowing with
-
milk and honey. For I will not go up in the
-
midst of thee, for thou art a stiff necked people, lest I
-
consume thee in the way other other translations would even
-
stay. Consume thee in the way, destroy
-
thee in the way again. He, he, he was so, so
-
aggravated, so mad that these people that he just done this
-
great thing for bringing them out of the land of Egypt.
-
And he's giving Moses their, their leader on earth a command,
-
the commandments and for the Tabernacle and all these
-
different things. And they had no patience and
-
they decided that they would make their own idol and their
-
own goddess. God was essentially saying, I
-
will keep my promise. You can still have the land, but
-
my presence will not go with you If if I go, if I go with you, I
-
I'm liable to destroy you with how angry I am at you for your
-
rebellion. For some, this might have seemed
-
like a fair deal. It may have seemed like a fair
-
deal. They'd still get the land.
-
They still get the land that they were promised milk and
-
honey and blessing. But Moses knew better.
-
Moses understood that the land without God was meaningless.
-
That is why he declared in verse in chapter 33, verse 15, If thy
-
presence go not with me, carry us not a pence, carry us not a
-
pencil. This is where we have to pause
-
and ask ourselves, are we content with just receiving
-
God's blessings or do we desire His presence more than the
-
blessings? Throughout Scripture we see
-
examples of people who settled for the land without the
-
presence, without the promise of God, and it has always led to
-
destruction. Moses understood that without
-
God, the land that was meaningless.
-
But not everyone in Scripture understood this truth that Moses
-
understood. Time and time again we see
-
people who chose land. They chose success or comfort
-
without realizing that God was not in it.
-
They were walking into destruction.
-
One such man to reflect on would be in Genesis is Lot.
-
Abraham gave him a choice as his leader.
-
He gave him a choice, hoping that Lot would make the right
-
decision of which land to go to. Lot was given this opportunity
-
to choose where he would dwell, but instead of seeking God's
-
direction, he chose what looked best.
-
He even said it in Genesis 13 and verse 10 it says.
-
And Lot lifted up his eyes and beheld all the plain of Jordan,
-
and that it was well watered everywhere before the Lord
-
destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. Even as the garden of the Lord,
-
like the land of Egypt, as thou comest into Zoar.
-
Then Lot chose him, all the plain of Jordan.
-
And Lot journeyed east, and they separated themselves one from
-
the other. This doesn't this, this
-
scripture passage does not start off and say that Lot prayed unto
-
God. And then he lifted up his eyes.
-
No, he was given a choice and he decided carnally to look up and
-
just look around and see what looks good.
-
He did not advise God. He didn't even advise his man of
-
God in his life. He decided that looks good and
-
that's what I'm going to do. Lot's decision would seem
-
logical. It could seem logical.
-
He chose prosperity. He he chose fertile land.
-
He he chose security. But there was one problem.
-
Genesis 1313 says. But the men of Sodom were wicked
-
and sinners before the Lord, exceedingly Moses.
-
Moses in our passage refused to take the Promised Land without
-
God's presence. But Lot did the exact opposite.
-
He chose what looked good without even consulting God.
-
Moses said if your presence doesn't go with Miss, we're not
-
going. Lot said this land looks good
-
enough, I'll go on my own. Lot chose the land without the
-
promise, and as a result he lost everything.
-
He lost his home, he lost his wife, and his daughters were
-
corrupted by the influence of Sodom.
-
Moses's wisdom in this passage of Exodus teaches us that what
-
Lots failure confirms, we should never pursue something, no
-
matter how good it looks, if God is not in it.
-
Lot wasn't the wasn't the only one to to choose what looked
-
good over what was right. The first king of Israel, Saul,
-
gives a good example of that. But instead of prioritizing
-
God's presence, he chose his own way.
-
Saul was given a Kingdom, he was given power, he was given
-
authority. But because of his partial
-
obedience, he lost the presence of God.
-
First Samuel 15 and 22 says, And Samuel said, half the Lord has
-
great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying
-
the voice of the Lord. Behold, to obey is better than
-
sacrifice into hearken than the fact of Rams.
-
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft.
-
Stubbornness is as iniquity in idolatry.
-
Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also
-
rejected thee from being king. Now, right then and there Saul
-
technically was still king, but he was not king in God's eyes.
-
He kept his earthly title, but he lost his godly anointing.
-
It even goes further in in chapter 16 and verse 14 it says,
-
but the spirit of the Lord departed from Saul and the evil
-
spirit from the Lord troubled him and evil spirit troubled
-
him. Moses understood that without
-
God even victory is empty. Saul, however, thought that as
-
long as he had his title, he had his army, he had his throne, he
-
was fine. Even when God's presence left
-
him. He wasn't convicted when
-
whenever he started to be threatened by David, he was
-
threatened by David because he knew that he didn't have the
-
anointing anymore. Moses's plea for God's presence.
-
He pleaded for God's presence and Saul ignored the fact that
-
it had even left him. You can have position, you can
-
have success, or you can have calling, but if you lose God's
-
presence, you have nothing. So Lot lost his home.
-
He lost everything. Saul lost his anointing.
-
But a a tragic moment in in Israel's history regarding the
-
presence of God, you have to look no further than the Ark of
-
the Covenant. The Ark of the Covenant was one
-
of the most sacred objects in Israel, representing the very
-
presence of God among his people.
-
Wherever the Ark went, victory and blessing followed.
-
But during the time of Eli the priest, Israel was in a
-
spiritual decline. The people were living in sin
-
and Elis sons were corrupt priests who defiled the House of
-
God. And one day Israel went to war
-
with the Philistines and suffered a terrible, terrible
-
defeat. And so they had this bright idea
-
then, instead of repenting, instead of seeking God for the
-
answer, instead of seeking God to to do something on their
-
behalf, that Israel decided to manipulate his power by bringing
-
the Ark onto the battlefield. They treated the Ark of the
-
Covenant like a lucky charm, if you will, thinking that as long
-
as they had the Ark on the battlefield with them, that
-
magically meant that they were going to win.
-
First Samuel 4 and three says, Let us fetch the Ark of the
-
Covenant of the Lord out of the Shiloh unto us, that when it
-
cometh among us it may save us out of the hand of our enemies.
-
They were so ignorant that they thought that as long as the
-
Ark's with us, we'll win. But they wanted victory without
-
seeking His presence. They just wanted His presence
-
there. They weren't seeking it.
-
They just thought, well, if this thing is here, we're going to
-
win. Obviously.
-
Obviously the Ark of the Covenant was not a magic weapon.
-
It was. It was a sign of God's presence.
-
The people of Israel wanted the symbol of God's power, but not
-
God himself. They treated, they treated the
-
land like a guarantee instead of walking in obedience with God's
-
presence. The the Philistines and by
-
consequence the Philistines ended up capturing the Ark of
-
the Covenant. And Eli's sons were killed in
-
battle. And when Eli heard the news, he
-
fell backward and he died. And Eli's pregnant
-
daughter-in-law went into labor, and she named her son Ichabod,
-
meaning the glory has departed. First Samuel 4 and 21 says.
-
And she named the child Ichabod, saying the glory is departed
-
from Israel because the ark of God was taken.
-
Israel still had the land, but they no longer had the presence
-
of God. Moses said, If you don't go with
-
us, we're not going. Israel, on the other hand, went
-
into battle assuming that they could force God's power to work
-
on their behalf without them. Seeking him without them
-
actually going into his presence and desiring his presence.
-
They just thought we can manipulate this for our our own
-
purposes. Moses refused to treat God's
-
presence like a guarantee. It was never a guarantee to
-
Moses. It was.
-
It was a privilege to Moses. Israel assumed that they could
-
carry that ark and automatically win.
-
A church and a ministry or a life without God's presence is
-
empty. You can still have everything
-
externally intact if you will, but if God has left, then there
-
is no substance, there is nothing there.
-
Losing the ark was that devastating moment in Israel's
-
history. And, and even after they
-
recovered it, the problem still remained.
-
They, they wanted the land, they wanted the success over, over
-
the history of Israel. You see the pattern of Israel
-
and, and they wanted all of these things and they wanted
-
the, the identity as God's people, but they didn't always
-
want him. I think of that as as we are
-
today, that we always want to be identified as God's people and
-
we want to, we want to have the success in the land and the
-
promises and the blessings of, of being God's people, but we
-
don't want him. We just want the after effect of
-
the byproduct of him. The same pattern showed up in
-
the New Testament. The Pharisees were one of the
-
most religiously devoted groups in Israel.
-
And then they knew the law, they knew it, They memorized
-
scriptures. They as as young children, they
-
grew up, they they learn the Torah and they upheld the temple
-
system. But when Jesus came, the very
-
presence of God in the flesh, they rejected him because they
-
did not have the presence. They had the system.
-
The Pharisees valued tradition over relationship.
-
They were more focused on religious status than they were
-
actually walking with God. They had they had the temple,
-
but they did not have God. They looked totally on the
-
outside, but on the inside they were spiritually dead.
-
Jesus exposed their hypocrisy in in Matthew 23 and 27.
-
It says Woe unto you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, For ye
-
are likened to widest sepulchers, which indeed appear
-
beautiful outward, but with but are within full of dead men's
-
bones. The Pharisees had all the
-
religious symbols, they had everything just right out all
-
the things, everything was dusted just right and and it was
-
all clean, and it all, you know, they polished it and it all
-
looked beautiful, and they made sure they followed every single
-
law to the letter and all these different things.
-
But at the end of the day, there was no presence in the temple.
-
That consequence of that was that in 70 AD the temple was
-
destroyed and it had never been rebuilt for many, many, many,
-
many, many, many years. The Pharisees had built an
-
entire system of religion without God, and it fell apart.
-
How will people know we are different if you don't go with
-
us? That's that's in essence what
-
Moses was saying in that encounter.
-
Also, he was, you know, how would people know where your
-
people if you don't go with us? We're it's it, we're acting.
-
By that point, the Pharisees were supposed to be God's.
-
Representatives, but they. Cared more about religion than
-
they actually did about being close to him.
-
Moses wanted intimacy with God. The Pharisees wanted an image of
-
godliness without true relationship.
-
And just like Moses knew the land, it meant nothing without
-
God. Jesus warned that religion means
-
nothing without true, true relationship.
-
The Pharisees. Had everything except the
-
presence. They had everything except the
-
most important thing. The danger of.
-
Living without God's presence didn't stop with just them.
-
Revelation. Three Verse 17 Because thou
-
sayest I am rich and increased with goods and I have need of
-
nothing and know it's not that thou art wretched and miserable
-
and poor and blind and naked. This is this isn't this is an
-
aspect of talking about the lady OC in church.
-
It would they were wealthy, they were comfortable, they were
-
successful. They believed that they had
-
everything that they needed, but the devastating part is they did
-
not have Jesus. It even stated later in verse
-
20. It says, behold, I stand at the
-
door and knock if any man hear my voice and open the door.
-
See we we always hear my voice. Hallelujah.
-
But there was action attached to that.
-
There was, there was the. And in there.
-
And open the door. I will come into him, and I will
-
Sup with him, and he with me. The Church of Lady Osea had it.
-
They were lukewarm, they had it all wrong.
-
They had it all wrong. And Moses refused to move
-
forward if God wasn't with them. But Lady Osea Church believe
-
that they were fine without him. We have come to a point in the
-
church today where we are comfortable with being
-
comfortable. We are comfortable with being
-
lukewarm. It does not convict us anymore
-
to be lukewarm, does not convict us to come in in this church
-
building time after time and leave time after time and be
-
unchanged. It does not convict us anymore
-
for us to not pray and read our Bible.
-
It does not convict us anymore to to not repent every day and
-
die daily. Does not convict.
-
We do not care. So it would seem.
-
On the outside looking in. Just as.
-
Moses talked about How does anyone know that we are God's
-
people? How does anyone know that we
-
have him? When we, when we come and we go,
-
we go through the motions and we go through the schedule and we
-
know that all of these different things are going to happen for a
-
service. And, and we go through that and
-
we know, OK, well, the, the man of God's going to come up to the
-
pulpit pretty soon. And then they'll, they'll go
-
anywhere from, from from 25 to 45 minutes or an hour or
-
whatever. And then we'll go home and, and
-
all these different things. And I won't actually listen to
-
what's being sung. I won't actually listen to
-
what's being preached. I'll just come to say that I
-
came. Because what happens?
-
In the bad times, what happens in the bad times is we want the
-
land, we want the promise, we want the, we, we want the
-
blessing, but we don't want the presence.
-
We don't want the promise. We just want, we want to make
-
sure that, that we're healthy. We want to make sure that we
-
have prosperity. We want to make sure and all
-
that, that great stuff. And so we come and we make sure
-
that we, we keep up appearances and everything like that.
-
That's not what it is about. That is that is a lukewarm
-
mentality. That is not what God is
-
desiring. The lukewarm mentality, if you
-
will, is, is another aspect of not going deeper with God is not
-
desiring anything beyond the the checkbox of salvation.
-
And I have, I have gotten somehow like Willy Wonka and the
-
Chocolate Factory, my golden ticket to heaven.
-
And I don't have to do anything else.
-
I don't have to serve. I do not have to give of my
-
time, of my love, of my desire. I do not have to stand up, I do
-
not have to do be exuberant. And I'm not saying everyone has
-
to, but I'm telling you there is a difference between lukewarm
-
and on fire. And if you cannot tell the
-
difference then I'd ask you to seek Him.
-
We want. The land, But we do not want the
-
promise. I think.
-
I think of lukewarmness in this day and age as the church, and I
-
think of what the writer of Hebrews was talking about and
-
saying that they were as babes on spiritual milk.
-
And in the sense what he's trying to say, because what
-
happens, right, what happens when we're lukewarm is we forget
-
the basics. And so we have to always go back
-
to the basics. We have to OK, now this is what
-
you do. This is this is one God, this is
-
salvation. This is all these different
-
things. We have to always go back to the
-
basics. And the writer of Hebrews was
-
saying, we have done this for many, many years.
-
We have, we have you have been saved, you have been redeemed,
-
you have the Holy Ghost. We should not be back to the
-
basics and having to repeat it over and over to you again.
-
It was Hebrews was a plea from almost a pass master to a
-
congregation saying please go deeper.
-
At Lukewarm Church, we are fine with staying on schedule.
-
We are. Fine with staying in the groove
-
and not getting up and getting out of our scene and being
-
uncomfortable. Again, we are fine with being
-
comfortable, even if that means being Luke warm.
-
We're fine with it. I tell you this much, if if you
-
want to think that oh you go to conferences and everything like
-
that, everything goes perfectly as planned and everyone follows
-
schedule, I will. I will argue that point.
-
We just had Wicca couple weeks ago and we were supposed to have
-
a service after a breakout session.
-
We did not have that service. We continued on.
-
The whole breakout session was two hours.
-
Do not tell me that we cannot flow with the Spirit of God.
-
It just, it just cares. It matters whether or not
-
there's enough people to welcome Him.
-
He is here, but is He welcomed? If we're if we're Luke warm and
-
we're going to sit like bumps on a log, then more than likely
-
there's going to be those that are getting touched and getting
-
blessed. And maybe sometimes it feels
-
like it's just up here, but that's because we're
-
interacting. We're welcoming him.
-
Moses. Begged God not to leave them.
-
Have we even got to that point yet where we are begging God not
-
to leave us? Or are we just OK?
-
Or are we? Like Saul, we don't even realize
-
it. We realize that the anointing
-
has left us. We must not be so focused on the
-
the day-to-day, the the schedule, the success, the
-
success, the comfort that we fail to notice that Jesus has
-
been missing. Come on.
-
I would, I would be elated. I'll be elated if if we came
-
here and we had a blowout and, and I have to, I have to, I have
-
to, you know, sleep forever because I'm I'm exhausted from
-
us being being crazy for a service or two or however many
-
it goes on. So we get so.
-
Caught up in in the the usuals. I think of.
-
I think of of the mentality of just, we have screens and I love
-
them and and I'm the one that installed them and not we
-
planned it and I was like, yes, we got them.
-
But I think of. It and I'm looking at it and I'm
-
and we used to have him look. So it's about the same.
-
It's about the lyrics, but we we do it and we read.
-
We read it, but we don't entertain it.
-
It's up there, but. What are we singing about
-
tonight? Even tonight praising for the
-
victory. I don't know about.
-
You. But when someone praises for the
-
victory, I don't think it looks like praising for the victory.
-
Come on. Come on.
-
Now Lord help me. Lord help me.
-
Oh Jesus, are we, are we losing? Are we losing him so much that
-
we cannot entertain what is happening, what is going on?
-
We are we feeling him? Are we feeling him enter this
-
place? Are we?
-
Welcoming him into this place. Have we even noticed when Jesus
-
is missing and he he's here? It's not that he's missing from
-
here, but is he missing from you?
-
Have you welcomed him for you? Moses's.
-
Response to God in Exodus 33 is is one of the most I believe of
-
such a powerful expression of of spiritual hunger and intimacy in
-
the Bible When when faced with this possibility of receiving
-
the promised land without God's presence, Moses did something
-
that set him apart. He refused to move forward
-
without God. First off 1st I have to pause
-
there even and state for us to to be in that type of
-
relationship with God that we tell God I refuse.
-
Anyone. Right now.
-
Want to dare? Come on, come.
-
On but he. Refused, he said.
-
God, I will not. He wanted more.
-
Than just God's blessing he wanted God breaking down Moses's
-
response and seeing why it's a good a good model for us today
-
is after Israel's sin with the golden calf.
-
God told Moses in verse 3 and he said he said again, you are
-
stiff necked people, lest I consume thee in the way if I if
-
I go, I might destroy you. But he's, he's saying he's
-
offering them land, he's offering them victory, he's
-
offering them blessing, just without his presence.
-
For most people, this would have been a good deal.
-
Like I said earlier, he they got the land of promise, they would
-
have got the milk and honey, they would have had victory over
-
their enemies. And if it was anyone different
-
of the Israelites that we're talking to God at this moment
-
and not Moses, that's probably what would have happened, but
-
not Moses. Moses knew something that Israel
-
did not understand, that without God the promise of the land was
-
meaningless. God with them was the promise.
-
That is why he declared, If thy presence is not go with me,
-
carry us not a pence He. I do not want the blessing
-
without the one who blesses. I don't want the promise without
-
the presence. I would rather stay in the
-
wilderness with you than enter the promised land without you.
-
If we only seek God for what He can do for us, but not for who
-
He is, then we have missed the point that this whole Bible is
-
trying to teach us. Moses didn't.
-
Just ask for God's presence. He he pressed in for more than
-
that. He didn't ask just that God
-
would go with them. He said, Lord, as long as you
-
send me. He didn't say as Lord, as long
-
as you send an Angel, which that was what God was suggesting,
-
I'll send an Angel. He wasn't saying, well, as long
-
as that happens and we'll be fine.
-
Instead he pleaded to God and verse 16, he says, for wherein
-
shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace
-
in thy sight? Is it not in that that go is
-
with us, so shall we be separated and I and my people
-
from all the people that are upon the face of the earth?
-
Moses understood. What made Israel different
-
wasn't the land, it was God. Egyptians had land, they just
-
came from there. They had plenty of land.
-
Canaanites had riches. It wasn't it wasn't something
-
special that Israel would have. The other nations had kings and
-
they had armies, but only Israel had the presence of the Living
-
God. Only the Church of the
-
Apostolics have the presence of the Living God.
-
The truth of the Book of Acts doctrine.
-
Only us have the truth. What?
-
Separates us is not what we own or what we accomplish in this
-
life, but it is the presence of God in our lives.
-
So it wasn't. It wasn't even good enough for
-
Moses just to just to say your presence go with us.
-
It wasn't good enough. Moses could have stopped after
-
securing God's presence to come with them, but he did not stop.
-
He he didn't. He wanted to go deeper.
-
After. God said that he would go with
-
him. Moses made an even bolder
-
request in verse 18. And he said, I beseech thee,
-
show me thy glory. Moses had already experienced
-
the burning Bush. He experienced the Red Sea
-
parting. He experienced look witnessing
-
the plagues. He experienced manna from
-
heaven, water from the rock, fire and smoke of Mount Sinai.
-
And yet, after all of this, he still wanted more of God.
-
And sometimes, after we have gone through the salvation plan
-
of Acts 238, we feel as though we have seen it all.
-
And that's all we need. Moses didn't even.
-
Get to experience that's 238 message.
-
But if you go through all of these different things that
-
Moses has experienced, those are grandiose, those are crazy.
-
And if we had experienced our faith, our faith meter would be
-
off the radar. And he had faith, but he had so
-
much faith that he asked God boldly show me your glory.
-
He wanted, he was not satisfied with just enough of God.
-
God responded to Moses in verse 19, it says, And he said, I will
-
make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the
-
name of the Lord before thee. And he said, Thou canst not see
-
my face, for there shall no man see me and live.
-
Instead of showing Moses his full glory because he would not
-
live, God placed him in the cleft of a rock and allowed him
-
to see his back and as he passed by.
-
The deeper we pursue God, the deeper we decide to go, the more
-
He will reveal Himself to us. How much of God have you really
-
seen? You cannot blame.
-
God on Him not revealing himself to you.
-
You only have yourself to blame because you have not decided to
-
seek Him revealing. He has not revealed.
-
Himself to you, because you have not desired of it.
-
After this. Encounter Moses had been
-
changed, verse 29 says, and it came to pass when Moses came
-
down. Exodus 3429.
-
Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony
-
in Moses's hand, and he came down from the mount that Moses
-
was not. The skin of his face shone while
-
he talked with him. Moses didn't realize it, but his
-
face was glowing because he had been in God's presence.
-
Been. In the presence of the Lord, so
-
long that His face shown, people were afraid to look at Him.
-
He had to wear a veil when speaking to them.
-
When you decide to go deeper with God, there may be people
-
that are afraid to look at you. They may be afraid because it's
-
something that's not familiar to them.
-
They may be afraid because it convicts them.
-
Whatever. The case Why would you not want
-
to exude His glory? Why would you not want to
-
reflect the Almighty? He.
-
Carried. He carried God's presence with
-
him externally. When you truly encounter God's
-
presence, it changes you. You will begin to reflect His
-
glory. You will.
-
You will no longer look like the world.
-
People will see God's presence on you.
-
There's something different about them.
-
There's something, there's something they have such a sweet
-
presence about them. It's not your presence, it's
-
God's presence. We can begin to stand and music
-
can make their way. Moses.
-
Teaches us an important lesson here.
-
Do not settle for just the land. Seek Him.
-
Seek Him for him, not for something else.
-
Don't be satisfied with with just the blessing.
-
Seek the one, the only one who blesses, the only one who saves.
-
Don't. Don't experience, just
-
experience God. Don't let it be a one and done
-
thing. Let His presence transform you.
-
The. Reason God revealed himself more
-
to Moses was because there was relationship there.
-
How deep is our relationship go that we would actually be able
-
to experience something just as Moses had experienced as well.
-
Don't just experience him, let it transform you.
-
So the question as these altars are open and they they begin to
-
play is are you content with just God's gifts?
-
Are you satisfied with just receiving or can you be
-
satisfied with him? With with.
-
Seeking just him. There may be blessing on the
-
after the app outside of that and on the other side of things
-
and and all that great, that great stuff.
-
But are you are you satisfied with just his gifts or do you
-
want him? I think about that and I think
-
of of. I know I've probably sung it may
-
way too many times, but song of of nothing else, I just want
-
you. I think of that.
-
Because it it's a whole song about going deeper.
-
It's a whole song about not anything else.
-
I'm not here for blessing. It even says.
-
You don't owe. Me anything.
-
You know the reason he doesn't owe you anything because he
-
already paid it all. We we go through.
-
This, this life and we, we think that, well, we need this, we
-
need this and God, you, you need to do this and all these
-
different things. And we act like God owes us
-
something when we forget that he paid it all, gave his life as a
-
living perfect sacrifice, and we just want to be in comfort.
-
Are you? Seeking His hand or are you
-
seeking His face? Are you bold enough to pray like
-
Moses and ask God to show you His glory?
-
Are you afraid of what would happen or are you afraid of the
-
answer? Does the answer eludes you?
-
Does it? Does it maybe feel like if you
-
ask God to show you his glory, he would say something like Who
-
are you? If we do not.
-
Decide soon to go deeper. From lukewarmness we may come to
-
a day where he looks at us and says, depart from me.
-
I never knew you. If we decide that we are
-
comfortable with being comfortable, we may get to a day
-
where God looks us in the face and says, Who are you?
-
I ask you, Do you know him? Do you?
-
Sup with him. Do.
-
You rely and trust in him not for what he does, but because
-
he's faithful, because he is constant, because he's alpha and
-
Omega, because he's beginning and end, because he is the great
-
I am. Not because of anything that he
-
has done except if you want to worship him for giving it all.
-
Because he didn't owe you anything and he still decide to
-
give you everything. Moses had everything that he
-
could have needed, and he still had a relationship with God, but
-
he still asked, Show me your glory.
-
I wonder if we. Could come to these altars
-
tonight and ask, plead with God. Lord, I desire to go deeper.
-
I desire to go deeper. Lukewarm mentality is not enough
-
for me anymore. God, I desire you to move.
-
God, if there's anything within myself that is not, it is not in
-
alignment. It is not something that would
-
bring glory into you or it would bring a a hedger or something in
-
between the two of us. That I cannot have a
-
relationship to go deeper with you.
-
God, correct me, convict me. If I have gone so far down the
-
path that I can't even be convicted anymore, God, bring me
-
back not to conviction. Bring me back to an altar of
-
repentance. God help me that I would change
-
my heart. I would change my mind.
-
Oh, we must not settle for the land without the promise.
-
The question is, what do we want?
-
What do we want? Are we willing to seek Moses,
-
seek God after like Moses did? Are we willing to long for him?
-
More than just blessed sings. Are we bold enough to say, Lord,
-
show me your glory, God, I don't want the land without you.
-
I don't want the promise without your presence.
-
Lord, show me, show me. Without you it's just land.
-
Without you it's just land. Hallelujah.
