It's going to be the same spirit with these old.

If you have not the Spirit of Christ and this is not me being

means the book of Romans were none of his Amen.

We got to have His Spirit to be His tonight, Amen.

We're going to be turning to the book of Psalm.

I'm going to go to Psalm chapter #46 here this evening.

Psalm 46. Good to see each of you in the

house. The Lord tonight, Amen.

Be able to thank the Lord for His tender mercies this good

weekend, Amen. God's hand.

Psalm 146, in reality, my text is Psalm 146 verse one to Psalm

150 verse six. I'm not reading all of that, all

right? So I just want to read the first

2 verses then of Psalm 146, and then I'm going to read it from

the home and Christian standard Bible as well, just because of

the wording just a little bit. The Bible.

Says in verse one. Praise ye, the Lord.

Praise ye, the Lord. O my soul.

While I live, will I praise? The Lord I will sing.

Praises unto my God while I have any being the home and Christian

study Bible says verse 2 like this I will praise the Lord all

my life. I will sing to my God as long as

I live for a little while tonight when I minister this all

my life praise, all my life praise, Hallelujah.

Can we ask the Lord to help us in the next little while?

Father, I thank you Jesus today, God for your spirit.

Another opportunity, God to be here, Lord to lend God voice and

lend Lord God worship into the King of glory.

Today I pray O. Lord, help us, Jesus, as we lean

into your Word and let Your Word find a place in our hearts and.

Lives in an expression, Lord. Jesus, I pray by some measure in

some. Way will not.

Lord, forget the thank you and praise you Lord, for what you

accomplished through Your word and the lovely name of the Lord.

Jesus Christ that I pray Hallelujah.

Psalms 100 and. 46 through Psalms 150 tonight.

Again, I am not going to read it, but it would be good to read

it perhaps as a homework, if that's such a thing.

And from a church, a man whenever you go home tonight or.

Throughout this week. The 146 Psalm to the 150 Psalm

are considered the Hallelujah psalms because each one begins

and they end. With that.

Meaning of the word. Hallelujah.

Which basically means. Praise the Lord, but.

Each of those songs. Begin and end with that.

Praise you the Lord, or praise the.

Lord, and they end with praise the.

Lord, there are times in these last five chapters.

Of Psalms that the. Phrase serves as a command.

It's a command and that we ought.

To praise the Lord. It's a non negotiable imperative

that we should. Praise the Lord and.

Then there are other. Places in those psalms that it

lends to an invitation or it's inviting us into.

The realm or. Requesting that we.

Would praise the Lord. That we would join with.

Some form. Whether it be our?

Voice of. Movement, whatever it may.

Be to join in some. Act of gratitude.

Unto the Lord. And so as we understand that

tonight, we understand this concerning praise is that praise

is both a requirement and a privilege.

Praise is both a requirement and a.

Privilege and when. I only see praise as a

requirement. I tend to often.

Lose the. Fact that it's a.

Privilege to do and yet whenever I.

Understand it as a. Privilege in my life.

Then I. Meet the requirement without

seeing it as such, right? Whenever I understand that it is

a privilege and so some. People believe that that.

Praise is just for the young. Praise is just for.

The Adolescent. Or the teenage, or those that

are of. Younger years and.

Better equipped bodies and greater endurance and things of

that nature that it belongs to those that have energy, that

belongs to those that have enthusiasm.

Some even have. Described to the idea.

That that. Praise is something that maybe

they did when they were young and in their past and what they

did. Then was good enough.

For that, they don't. Have to do it now that I praise.

God in my. 12131418 and young 20 years that that was good enough

then and I. Stored it up, then perhaps for

now it's no. Longer necessary or?

It's no longer anything that the Lord would require of.

Me. Others even assume that that

just a quiet acknowledgement of God is enough.

Just acknowledging Him and my thoughts or my mind suffices for

praise unto. The Lord that.

Any outward expression of praise is unnecessary.

Or that it. Really doesn't come on the

radar. Clapping hands or singing songs.

Vocally, out loud, or? Even giving a boisterous shout

unto the. Lord or God forbid.

Someone would dance. Before the Lord that.

That's really not necessary. Just a quiet acknowledgement in

my heart or mine is sufficient. Anything beyond?

That would be excessive. Or anything beyond that would be

unnecessary. However, the scripture.

Tells us quite otherwise. Praise is not.

Reserved according to the. Word for.

A particular age group group or particularly a young or student

like type of age group for that matter it.

Is not optional. It's not a.

Temporary activity that takes place at 1.

Particular segment or sector? Of our lives, the call to praise

extends to. Each and every one of us that

are setting. Here tonight, from the young to

the age to the middle age to the single to the married, it

matters not who we are, but as a matter of fact, praise lasts.

A lifetime there are. Those who with age.

Or changing of seasons might be. The better phrase it's a little

bit. Less harsh with changing

seasons. Of light believe that praise.

Again, should be left. To.

A younger generation and I weep. Maybe in the corner by myself

sometimes, when I understand. That.

Because we still need some. Gray haired Saints that.

Can be teachers. Amen to those that have not yet

clapped a hand. Or lifted a voice.

Or sung their song. Yet we still need a aged

individual that can teach the. Younger.

And sometimes they excuse themselves.

And please don't misunderstand me tonight.

I'm not out here with an axe. For our elders.

I appreciate. Them but we.

Need not to excuse. Ourselves as.

We get older a man excuse ourselves from.

Active participation. And praise again, I don't want

to. Excuse myself, Sister Sheila.

Thinking my younger years was enough or my prior.

Experience in worship and. Praise was enough, so I'm exempt

today. Because of what I.

Did then. I.

Don't see necessarily. I understand praise can come and

God understands all of that, but I don't.

See that it's necessarily. Stored up for the.

Fact of fulfilling some future. Time whenever I should or ought

to praise the Lord, the psalmist said.

And you know it well in Psalms A. 150.

And verse number six, let everything.

That hath breath praise the. Lord, if breath feels our.

Lungs praise should rise from. Our lips.

Furthermore, I go back to the book of beginnings.

Yes, Genesis and I. Read that God had made and

formed man, but man did not become a living soul until God

to breathe the breath of. Life into his nostrils and if.

Breath is a prerequisite for praise.

Then God placed praise in humanity from the beginning so

that throughout his life he could return it back to God in

his lifetime. And in that city where the Lamb

is the light someday to come, it someone say man, some may feel

that. Praise should be subdued.

Or that it should. Be reserved only for.

Corporate times of worship like we are here or you dust.

Off if you wield. These different dynamics and.

Demonstrations of praise for. Special occasions like a.

Conference or a camp meeting or a revival service.

Yet Scripture consistently describes praise as something

that is visible and also expressive.

Not merely just a thought. Not merely.

Just a feeling. As a matter of fact, Psalms 148

and verse 12 reminds us that the young and the old are called to

praise the Lord together. Our ears don't excuse us from

lifting up our voice or raising our hands.

You say, Brother McGee, I can't raise my hand as high as I used

to. Well, can you get it this high?

My praise at 46 doesn't look like my praise at 16, but it's

It's not going to keep me from running.

I just might not run as quick. It's not going to keep me from

jumping. I just might not jump as high.

My voice may become frail in old age, but if.

I got to whisper it out. I'll whisper it out because.

God has put some breath inside of me and I want to show for

some gratitude. Someone say Amen.

Some gratitude unto the Lord, An expression of praise, Genuine

praise, ladies and gentlemen, Amen.

It is actually a lifestyle. Again, it's not.

Just a momentary act. It is a on going response to

God's goodness, his faithfulness and his presence.

That's the reason why this morning and sometimes you're

late when God's. Spirit has moved.

Into the room. I've noticed some praise going

forth. I don't know if it's being

conscious or unconscious, but there's a response to the

presence of God that fuels this place.

There is expressions of adoration and demonstrations of

gratitude unto God, young and old.

I've seen it over the past few services.

It doesn't matter if you've been strong or are you weak, you

praise. It is always, everybody say,

always appropriate to praise the Lord.

I have breath, I have reason, I have responsibility to praise

God folks, sometimes rather than just.

A herald and a. Call to everybody.

That's in the room. Praise the Lord sometimes even

gets a little personal. Again, every song, here the

last. 5. Begin and end with.

Praise. The Lord and they.

Seem to be collective. Calls.

They are actually in the the plural Amen denoting the.

Grouping of people that would. Have heard it or even those

that. Read it.

It is a call to everyone. To praise the Lord.

However, the second verse or the second part of verse number one

of our text tonight becomes a little personal because the

second-half of it reads like this.

Praise the. Lord, the psalmist says.

Oh my soul, praise the Lord, Oh my soul, because sometimes

there's got to be a call to our self to self engage in praise

unto the Lord. The psalmist had made a group.

Call. That covered everybody but.

Then he got very. Personal and was basically

saying so praise the Lord if I could say it like this.

There's sometimes, folks. And and let's just get real.

My flesh doesn't want to praise my natural being doesn't feel

like praising it, doesn't want to engage Amen in gratitude into

the Lord. I know He's worthy.

But this old flesh just doesn't want to.

Clap a hand or raise a hand or vocalize any type of praise into

God. But in those moments, I found

myself. I got to get along with Paul

McGee and I got to say, Paul McGee, it's time for you to

praise the Lord. Paul McGee, I know it's been a

bad day and I know your body isn't feeling up to it, but it's

really not about where you are. It's about who he is.

And so Paul McGee, you, you need to lift up your it might not be

as a shouting voice, but it's going to be some type of voice

you need to praise. I tell my soul, soul, praise the

Lord. I found in my Christian

experience that there are times when we are in an atmosphere of

praise and. Praisers, listen to me.

Well. That we can be duped into

believing that we're praising too, without having engaged in

praise because we're surrounded by an.

Atmosphere of other people. That are praising.

You know it's. Charged and they're saying.

Things with their. Voices and they're doing this

and man, it feels so good to be in an atmosphere like that.

I get this false impression that I participated in when reality

I'm just feeling the overflow of their demonstration.

Thank God's power coming down and answering to the response of

who He is and what He. Has done.

But what I need to understand is this.

Everybody else's praise isn't my praise.

Everybody else's praise isn't my praise.

I still must engage Bishop for years, folks, let me tell you

the hallmark of Bishop's ministry.

Was preaching on stuff like I'm preaching right now about.

Praise and worship. Not everybody's praise is my

praise, folks. We could go through it and you

know this. So there's certain people that

have just a certain way, it seems like they dance.

Or shout. I I couldn't I.

I can't do that on on any. Given day of the week, because

that's not my praise. The way that they raise their

voice or the way that they exclaim to the Lord is

different. From mine or.

The way that it is all different, the way that they

clap their hands. So I can't assume that their

praise is good enough for mine. You have a tailor made unique

thumbprint praise that you should also give and offer unto

God. Someone say Amen.

One of the aspects of praise is that we praise Him and thank Him

for what He has. Done for me.

And there's a lot of overlap in our life.

I get that. We all could praise Him for

salvation. We all could.

Praise Him for mercy and for. Grace and for the daily

provision that he. Gives us in our.

Life we could. Praise him for his.

Presence or the hope that he's instilled.

In our hearts. There's all type of overlap, but

there are some tailor made things that only pertain to you

because no one knows. Like you know what God has done

for you. We can go the we can go the

umbrella of salvation. But there's some of you tonight.

Nobody else has your story but you, or brought you from where

you were at but you and so. There is a unique praise that

will. Come from your mouth.

Because you can say clearly nobody knows.

Like I know what God has done for me.

I know the dregs of sin, that He.

Pulled me out of. I know the pit that he took me

out of. My dance won't be like your

dance, my shouted voice won't. Be like yours.

Because my story isn't your story.

I know all my life. Praise.

So in that moment, no one can praise him for that, but you

praise. Again, then, this is not

limited. By our age, it's not for a

generation like it's some trait that skips generations.

It's not an activity that should fade with time.

Scripture clarifies that, people.

Of all ages. Are called to praise the Lord.

In Psalms 148 he commanded or invited all of creation to

praise the Lord. As a matter of fact, in verse 7

he speaks that that praise should come from the earth, and

he begins to list the. Different things of creation.

The different things that the earth was prone to that should

praise. You can read it later tonight,

but he spoke of. How sea creatures should.

Praise him. Fire should hell, HIHAIL should

Snow, clouds, stormy winds, mountains, hills, fruit trees,

cedar trees, beasts, cattle, creeping things.

He meant flying foul kings and Princess and judges.

He follows up in verse #11 then that all people should praise

the Lord. And then verse 12 as I already

pointed out that all ages. Should praise the Lord.

He said in verse 12, You can throw it back up there if you

can. He said both young men and

maidens, old men and children. In other words, young, old Gray

haired, those that were just, you know, in the infancy of

their life and those that are in the golden years of their life.

If you're single, if you're married, if you're divorced, if

you hey man, if you have a sweetheart, you have no.

Sweetheart, if you have kids, if you don't have kids, wherever

you find yourself. In life.

He said all creation, mountain, sea, fire, wind, storm.

Judges, Princess. All people ought to praise Him.

Jesus reinforced it. He.

Reinforced this truth whenever he quoted Psalms 8 and 2.

In Matthew 21. 16 affirming that God has perfected praise from

the mouths of babes and sucklings from the youngest

child who can barely maybe. Can't form a sentence.

Amen. Like somebody with a doctorate

from the youngest of the five year old, or a four year old, or

whatever the year old may be. Amen that can offer Amen their

praise unto God, all the way to a elderly St.

That might be watching. Online that Shetty and can't

even get to the House of God anymore.

Amen. That seemed decades of God's

faithfulness and what he has done in their own life.

All of them, the whole spectrum, are invited to a lifelong

Symphony of praise from His people.

Because praise, ladies and gentlemen.

It's not bound by physical ability.

It's not produced by personal circumstance.

A young person, and I did when I was younger, praise God with

exuberant energy and tension before the Lord with all of my

mind as a young person. But there might be a elder

believer that from their seat in their home in a recliner.

Tonight they just. Got a frail voice.

That can render praise of adoration, but it's no less

significant than the young person that can do it from the

house top. Oh.

Yes, I want to tell our elders tonight that's watching online

if the enemy has lied to you and tell you your praise is not

important anymore. It is not significant anymore.

I'm telling you that's a lie. Your praise is still just as

vibrant. Your praise is just as.

Important. Your praise is just as

meaningful as it was when your hair wasn't Gray and your bones.

Because the object of our praise is the same.

Praise doesn't have an expiration date, it's a lifelong

responsibility. It's a lifelong privilege, and

so much that the Psalm said there in verse 2.

In the the the the home and Christian I will.

Praise the Lord all my life. Psalms one O 4 verse 33 the

psalmist mentions I will sing praises to my God.

While. I have my being.

That's not a momentary. Devotion.

That's a commitment to continuous, lifelong praise.

Furthermore, to think about. This praise or acknowledgement

of God or doing things for God would decline with age really

contradict some of the biblical examples that we have.

In Scripture. Caleb was still willing to claim

mountains. At 85, Anna who gave fasting

them prayers in. The temple.

He was worshipping. There at the advanced.

Age of 84. Even the apostle Paul his.

Circumstances of being in. Chains.

Amen. By by being imprisoned, he.

Continues to lift his. Voice in praise, nevertheless.

So no matter. Your stage in life.

Praise is not an activity of the past, it's an activity of every

day, an ever present response to God for His unchanging goodness.

I'm here here to tell you today, and you know this to be true.

God is not any less good to you than whenever you first come to

know Him. God is not any less good to you

whenever tongues of fire first fell upon your head and you were

baptized in Jesus name and your sins were forgiven.

If nothing else, you should have a greater knowledge today just

about. How good he has been to you.

When I look back over my life and I see Hallelujah, where he's

brought me from, I can truly say that I've been blessed.

I got a testimony. He's just for anybody that

recognizes God's greatness. And among all those praising.

Him you can look. Again, at Psalm 148, last verse

particularly tells us. His people, Israel, his Saints

should praise him, it says there.

In particular Psalms 148 and verse 14 that it are those the

Bible says a. People near, he says.

To to the. Define or clarify, he says a.

People near. Unto him.

People that are near. Unto him.

Again, the reference. Seems to be his people.

Israel or his Saints? Those that are near.

Unto him should praise the Lord. While that may absolutely

pertain to Israel, there's something that happens.

In the New Testament scripture in the New Testament.

Scripture the Apostle Paul are writing.

To some. Gentiles of the Church.

At Ephesus. And he speaks to.

Them. He's making the the notion that

the Gentiles, even in the temple and such, they could only go.

So. Far in they were considered

those that were sometimes afar off, but the apostle Paul.

Raises up his voice. Because of the.

Sacrifice of Christ. Jesus on Calvary he said ye who

were sometimes. Afar off.

Have been made nigh or been made near by the blood of the Lord

Jesus Christ. Since I've been brought near to

him, I've found the classification then.

Now those that are near to him ought to praise the Lord.

It's not just. For the Jew.

It's for the Gentile. Hallelujah.

All of us have the opportunity today, regardless of our lineage

or our heritage, to offer praise unto God.

Someone look at your neighbor and say that means you means

you. Praise is not merely an internal

acknowledgement of God's goodness.

We get in trouble as the biblical church people peer into

our live stream A. Little too noisy, a little too.

Loud, but don't. Take all that hand clapping.

Doesn't need to be, no. Affirmation of a.

Man or Hallelujah? Praise.

Is not merely internal. Acknowledgement of God's

goodness. Praise in many.

Forms even in these. Last five Psalms are an outward

expression that engages the whole person throughout

scripture we even. Have that.

Praise is portrayed. As something that is active at

times even. Visible at times even vocal,

Psalms 149 provides a clear picture what biblical praise

looks like. Look at it there in your Bible.

Psalms 149. After he admonishes them.

Again, to praise ye the Lord, He begins to break down what that

could look like, what that could be expressed as or demonstrated.

As He says in verse 1, singing new whose songs unto the Lord

could fall in the classification of praise.

He says in verse three that rejoicing in our dancing can

fall under the classification of praise.

Making music with instruments can fall under the

classification of praise. Even shouting aloud the glory of

the Lord, Amen can be a classification of praise.

These actions show that praise is not meant to remain locked

within our thoughts and just have some type the mental Amen.

A thought pattern that he's a good God or he's a great God no

but if it's in my thoughts, it's going to somehow influence my.

Action, my voice, my hands. Hoya by Shaktaya by Saya, my

verse one that we ought to make a joyful noise unto the Lord,

About Scripture biblical figures like the.

Apostle Paul. Silas in Acts chapter #16

Praise. God with a loud.

Voice in prison. That demonstrated certainly that

their praise was not. Dependent upon their

circumstance. But it was an intentional

response to who God is and was. And the Bible says due to their.

Response, the scripture says. And the prisoners heard them.

Can I tell you they weren't doing that to be heard by the

prisoners? They weren't.

Please, please, please. Nobody mistaken.

Amen of the greater world of the WWW.

We don't do this to be heard. But if we do.

It, and we are. Heard what can I say then it was

noise to blah abroad but they received the Holy Ghost and Acts

2 Amen. There's nothing wrong with

praise being heard by those that are in captivity, those that are

incarcerated, Amen. It caught their attention

because why should someone hear something like that in the mess

that we are in? I tell you, our worship, our

praise should not be limited then.

Just a quiet reflection, the living declaration of God's

greatness. It's.

Through our voices. Through.

Our bodies, sometimes our entire.

Being. Seeing people have that entire

being praise didn't get crazy. It's like the old.

Song, the kids used to say, though I feel him in my hands,

feel him in my feet. Feel him in my heart I feel him

all my hands got to say thank you My foot's got to say thank

you. My voice box got to say thank

you. Some of y'all never quit

dancing. You just change partners, right?

You. Hey man, so let's say glory.

This engagement we consider how praise was described in the

Bible. Ofttimes it was described.

With movement and sound and engagement, we read.

In Second Samuel 6. Many of you are familiar with

the story that David is dancing before the Lord.

The Bible says with all. His might he was.

Undeterred by. Those who may be along the

sidelines that would criticize him or criticize his enthusiasm.

The people of Israel at times, the Bible tells us when they.

Even walked around Jericho and I know they had prescription from

God. But when they blew.

Their trumpets and they shouted after 7 times around especially

on the 7th day and the walls of Jericho fell.

There was a noise, don't you know, of trumpets and shouting

of the. People in the New Testament.

Scripture. We read of crowds that lifted up

their voice in praise and adoration to Jesus Christ as

he's entering to Jerusalem and they're crying out.

Hosanna, Hosanna, and blessed is he that.

Cometh in the name. Of the Lord.

Praise has never been a passive act Amen.

It's a response that engages our hearts.

Our voices, our physical being. Amen.

It is worth the Amen to praise the Lord.

He is worth of it all. Amen.

A demonstration, a declaration. Why Pastor McGee do this?

Why in the world? Pastor McGee.

Do we do? Do we do this to impress one

another? We do this to impress the

Saints. We do this.

To impress the pastor. No Psalms 149 and verse 4 tells

us part of the why for because for the Lord take of pleasure in

his people. You read those first 4 verses

and it's talking about that praise that is going forth and

how they should sing praises and do this praise and timbrel and

harp with praise. It tells in verse 4 all of that

for the Lord take a pleasure in his people.

Someone say man, someone say God likes it.

I don't need my wifes endorsement.

I don't need my husbands endorsement.

I don't need the world's endorsement.

I don't need the. Church across the streets.

Endorsement. I got heaven's.

Endorsement God likes. It when I praise.

Him, can I tell you, as David came into Jerusalem, shout with

all his might His wife. Amen.

Look down her. Nose Amen.

With despair at him, but he. Says this is not.

Before you, Michael. And this is not.

Before your. Father, I'm doing this before

the Lord because God likes it. God likes it.

I don't need a stamp of approval from anybody.

I got the approval of heaven. Heaven likes it.

There were starchy colored church.

Didn't matter, God liked. It so the next time you're

sitting there and you're batting.

In your head. I don't know about.

I don't know about taking a walk, I don't know about

God takes pleasure in it. You start your thing.

God starts smiling. You start your thing.

Your voice raises another octave and praises, and that's good.

Someone takes a run around the church and he says.

That mighty fine somebody begins to clap their hands and start.

Lifting it above their. Hands and he's like did you guys

Do you? He likes it.

Oh my life praise. Come on, let's talk to him right

Spirit of the Lord, Spirit of the Lord, yes.

However, you can express it. However you can demonstrate it.

However, you can return thanks to him for it.
