  1. God for your presence. So God, oh, it's from

  2. everlasting to everlasting. Jesus, Hallelujah, Hallelujah,

  3. Amen. You may be seated here this

  4. evening. Just a few announcements to

  5. remember. This coming Sunday, the Champion

  6. family will be with us. They'll be providing music for

  7. our morning and evening service. And then brother Champion will

  8. be preaching Sunday night. And so this whole scenario

  9. kindly just exactly lines up with last year, meaning that

  10. they're involved in their fair week, I think this week.

  11. And so it's very busy. And so they'll be here on Sunday

  12. morning running back to their church Sunday afternoon, running

  13. back here Sunday night. And so let's be as supportive as

  14. we can love on them. Thank them.

  15. They agreed. They agreed to drink the

  16. Kool-aid again and and come and be a part and I appreciate their

  17. their willingness to serve the in the Kingdom of God and help

  18. us during this weekend and so we're thankful to them.

  19. So they will be here also then on July the 25th is game night

  20. from 7:00 to 10:00 here at the church in the 27th of this month

  21. will be Brother Alex Mason in the PM service.

  22. And if I were to just look ahead at just a little bit in the

  23. month of August. We have a course, the Indiana

  24. District Women's Esprit Conference that will be taking

  25. place our fifth Sunday in that month will be Pastor Anthony

  26. Wilkes will be here on that 5th Sunday, Minister the Word of the

  27. Lord in that AM service on that 5th Sunday in September.

  28. On Grandparents Day we will have who is now Bishop and Sister

  29. Sizemore. Bishop and Sister Sizemore will

  30. be with us on a Grandparents Day ministering the Word of the Lord

  31. in the Sunday AM and PM services.

  32. National Men's Conference is in the month of September as well.

  33. Registration is open right now. If you plan on going, it's early

  34. bird registration and so the cost I believe is $50.00 right

  35. now. I should know because that's

  36. kind of like my wheelhouse, what I'm taking care of.

  37. But I believe it's $50.00 right now.

  38. And so that's the 19th and 20th. And so go on and, and register

  39. for that if that's you. In the month of October, we got

  40. our annual chili. I know already, right?

  41. We have our annual chili dinner and we'll have our next revival

  42. right after that. We'll have our annual chili

  43. dinner on the the 11th of October and then that Sunday

  44. through Wednesday, we'll be in revival with Tyler Smith and

  45. ministering the word of the Lord.

  46. So that'll be a great time. You don't want to miss that.

  47. And then we'll be over into the month of November with National

  48. Youth Convention. I'm just kind of throwing it all

  49. out and that's what's coming up. National Youth Convention will

  50. be here in our fifth Sunday of that fifth Sunday.

  51. We'll have Pastor Daniel Taylor from Oklahoma that's going to be

  52. here, him and his family ministering the word and

  53. probably also providing song. And it'll be an enjoyable time.

  54. Amen. And then there's December.

  55. We're not talking about that. We're not talking about that.

  56. Amen. We're going to be turned to

  57. Genesis chapter 19. I got enough stuff here tonight,

    Genesis 19 chapter mention

  58. probably last me two nights. But whenever I first was putting

  59. all this together, I wasn't even sure about how all the music and

  60. all that. I thought I might just come in

  61. here and start teaching, and I could teach for about an hour

  62. and a half easy. And so I still have enough

  63. information for this. So we'll just see how far we get

  64. into it. If we finish this solitary

  65. lesson, I'll be surprised. But if it happens, there you go.

  66. Genesis chapter 19 going to verse #12 ye man, it's like just

    Genesis 19 chapter mention

  67. can't get through chapter 19. But mind you, chapter 19 has 38

  68. verses in my defense. The Bible says and the men said

  69. unto Lot. So if you kind of remember where

  70. we are here, there has been the same guest that visited Abraham

  71. visit Lot at Sodom. Hospitality has been shown from

  72. Abraham now from Lot and the people though of Sodom has not

  73. been very hospitable. They've encircled the house

  74. where Lot has brought them in. They're really wanting to take

  75. advantage of them. The angels on the inside have

  76. struck blindness for those on the outside, and they have

  77. pulled a lot back into the house.

  78. And so that's where we are here in verse 12.

  79. And the men, the men that Speaking of are the angels, said

  80. unto Lot, Hast thou hear any besides son-in-law, thy sons and

  81. thy daughters? And whatsoever thou hast in the

  82. city, bring them out of this place, for we will destroy this

  83. place, because this cry of them is waxing great before the face

  84. of the Lord, and the Lord has sent us to destroy it.

  85. And Lot went out and spake unto his sons in law, which married

  86. his daughters, and said up, Get you out of this place, for the

  87. Lord will destroy the city. But he seemed as one that mocked

  88. unto his sons in law. And when the morning rose, then

  89. the angels hastened, Lot saying, Arise, take thy wife and thy two

  90. daughters which are here, lest thou be consumed in the iniquity

  91. of the city. And while he lingered, the men

  92. laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and

  93. upon the hand of his two daughters, And the Lord being

  94. merciful unto him, and they brought him forth, and set him

  95. without the city. And it came to pass, when they

  96. had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy

  97. life. Look not behind thee, neither

  98. stay thou in all the plane. Escape to the mountain, lest

  99. thou be consumed. Then Lot said unto them, Oh not

  100. so, my Lord. Behold now thy servant have

  101. found grace in thy sight, and thou has magnified thy mercy,

  102. which thou has shewed unto me, and saving my my life, and I

  103. cannot escape. Notice I cannot.

  104. Let's pause. There's a big difference between

  105. cannot and will not, and I cannot escape to the mountain,

  106. lest some evil take me and I die.

  107. Behold, now this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little 10

  108. Let me escape thither. Is it not a little one?

  109. And my soul shall live. And he said unto him, See, I

  110. have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not

  111. overthrow this city. For the which thou has spoken,

  112. haste the escape thither, for I cannot do anything till thou

  113. become thither. Therefore the name of the city

  114. was called Zoar. The sun was risen upon the earth

  115. when law entered into Zoar. So tonight I'm going to talk

  116. along this subject matter. Lead well or lose much?

  117. Lead well or lose much. Can we talk to the Lord one more

  118. time? Father?

  119. I love you, God. I appreciate Lord Jesus being

  120. here. I thank you, Lord, for your

  121. word. God.

  122. It is a relevant word. It's a pertinent word, God, not

  123. just for them, but even for now. I pray, O God, help me to accept

  124. it as such. God, help it, Lord, to search

  125. out all of the Lord areas of my own life.

  126. God, help me to look upon him. Consider Lord, it's application,

  127. God for today, for now, for me, God, for my family.

  128. God, I don't want to fail to thank you and praise you Lord,

  129. for what you accomplished through your word and the lovely

  130. name of Jesus Christ that I pray, Amen.

  131. God bless you this evening. You may be seated in Jesus name.

  132. We touched on it just a few weeks ago and I think chapter 19

  133. encircles and has a lot to do with the headship of a

  134. household. Absolutely.

  135. The headship of a household because within this context of

  136. the family, it's significant that these two men are angels as

  137. they are spoken of in verse 12, that they consulted with Lot,

  138. they spoke to him, they talked to him.

  139. They talked to him about the potential danger that that he

  140. and his family was in if they remained in Sodom.

  141. I think it's important to note that the angels did not come and

  142. talk to Lot's wife or bypass him and talk to his children.

  143. They talked to Lot, they went to him, they went to the head of

  144. the house, so to speak. They went to the leader of the

  145. family because Lot was the one that should have been

  146. responsible for educating his family about the pending

  147. destruction that would come up on them if they stayed in the

  148. city. It was his responsibility.

  149. Furthermore, even the Angels told him that you need to bring

  150. them. You need to bring them out of

  151. the city. That's your response.

  152. We're placing that on your shoulders as your responsibility

  153. and it should have been his and it's throughout scripture.

  154. This is not some scripture making some male chauvinist

  155. slant or anything like that. This this is having a

  156. patriarchal or a male LED type of thing is customary for this

  157. time. Not only that headship belonging

  158. to the male not just culturally but also the Bible spiritually

  159. sets it as though the man should take the lead.

  160. That's what we understand scripture starting all the way

  161. back. Even with Adam it.

  162. Isn't it interesting that God created Adam 1st and then Eve

  163. and not the the the switch of that.

  164. He didn't put Eve and then Adam. He made Adam 1st and then Eve

  165. and no, he then gave Adam before Eve ever comes into the

  166. existence, the need to dress the garden and the need to guard the

  167. garden, to dress it and keep it. And that garden was supposed to

  168. be their home, right? And so here is God speaking to

  169. Adam. I want you to work here.

  170. I want you to guard, if I could say it like that, y'all's house.

  171. And he gave that responsibility unto Adam.

  172. Furthermore, before Eve was in existence, God had a

  173. conversation with Eve about the tree of knowledge of good and

  174. evil, the scripture says before she was even created.

  175. Because that was to be his responsibility to safeguard to

  176. to, you know, give that further information to those who would

  177. need it. And so Adam was even the Bible

  178. tells us in the book of Romans that Adam was even held

  179. responsible for the fall, even though Eve was first in sinning.

  180. Again, that's underscoring then his role of being the male

  181. headship, both literally and spiritually of their household.

  182. This is the way that things are in Scripture.

  183. When we read in the book of Job, which in reality, I know it's

  184. right there before Psalm, but it should really in the placement

  185. and scheme of things. The Scripture should be placed

  186. somewhere in the early part time frame of the book of Genesis as

  187. far as its placement. Job, the book of Job highlights

  188. Job, but regularly we read in the first couple opening

  189. chapters that he regularly sacrifices unto the Lord on

  190. behalf of his children. He's acting then in a sense as a

  191. spiritual priest for his family. And so even in Job, this very

  192. old book, we have a pre mosaic before Moses pattern that's

  193. established where a father should be functioning as a

  194. spiritual head of his family. Amen.

  195. And so even recently, in just the last chapter, chapter #18 of

  196. Genesis, God even approached Abraham.

  197. And remember, he surmised with Abraham this, he's like, should

  198. I tell Abraham what I'm about to do concerning Sodom?

  199. Remember, because he surmises that he can trust Abraham.

  200. And this is the reason why the Bible says so.

  201. He says, because I know Abraham will command his children and

  202. his household after him. He knew that he would be the

  203. spiritual leader of his home. He knew he would be that

  204. fatherly function, a man in his home.

  205. And so now in Genesis chapter 19, God is giving Lot the chance

    Genesis 19 chapter mention

  206. to prove himself a worthy father.

  207. God is giving Lot the chance to prove himself a spiritual leader

  208. for his family. If I can.

  209. It's kind of a last ditch opportunity here, kind of a last

  210. ditch effort that's taking place here because judgement is

  211. approaching, right? The hammer is going to fall up

  212. on Sodom. And up to this point, we got to

  213. understand some of the responsibility that Lot's taken

  214. anyway. Lot primarily has been

  215. responsible for bringing his family to this location, Sodom

  216. to begin with, responsible for that.

  217. And notably, even whenever God investigates the outcry of the

  218. city of Sodom to come down and see if the things and the

  219. conditions of Sodom are asked what's being outcry from there

  220. notice. Did he not first come and tell

  221. Lot listen when he arrived at the city?

  222. You all are doomed, right? He so he tells them the

  223. situation they're in. So it's now Lot.

  224. What are you going to do with what you've learned?

  225. What are you going to do with what you have learned?

  226. And so he shares it. He shares it with Lot, but

  227. before he ever shared it with Lot, he shared it with Abraham.

  228. And the reason, one of the reasons why I think so is

  229. because he knew the type of father that Abraham was.

  230. He'll command his children. He'll lead his household.

  231. And so now he comes to law actually at the city.

  232. And there's probably here here, because the way that Lot thus

  233. far has led his family, Amen. And wondered if Lot would

  234. command his children, Amen. Even wondered perhaps that, you

  235. know, up to this time has been kind of questionable.

  236. I don't know if he'll do with the information that I give to

  237. him what needs to be done. So I'll talk to Abraham first

  238. because I have confidence he'll intercede, and then I'll talk to

  239. Lot because if I'd say it like this, it's according to what day

  240. it is, which way Lot's going. Listen, there's sometimes in

  241. Scripture you're looking at Lot and then you're cheering him.

  242. I'm like, man, great decision, right choice, go, go, go.

  243. And then there's other times you look at Lot and you're like,

  244. buddy, get your head out of the sand.

  245. What are you thinking? He he lives a life on both sides

  246. of life. He lives a life on both sides of

  247. life. Sometimes his actions are

  248. questionable. And so with that as a father

  249. function as a lot being a father, his actions are quite

  250. confusing. It's puzzling.

  251. You don't you're trying to figure out which side are you

  252. on. Amen.

  253. On one hand, the Bible tells us that his daughters evidently has

  254. lived in the city of Sodom for this this perverse place, mind

  255. you, for this extended of time with their father and their

  256. family, with the guidance of their father amid this perverse

  257. place, Amen. And the Bible tells us basically

  258. that they have remained virgins. The Bible tells us in verse #8

  259. they whenever Law was Speaking of his daughters to give them to

  260. those that were outside of the of of his house and his door, he

  261. said they've not known man. They, they're evidently have

  262. have kept their virginity being in this very perverse place.

  263. Amen That I believe also speaks Amen to the voice in the actions

  264. help of their father in their house.

  265. So but and it's it's a large contrast, but on the flip side,

  266. the Bible says they are married or they are betrothed, like

  267. engaged to men that in Scripture are strongly implied as men of

  268. Sodom. So here's both sides of Lot.

  269. On one hand, he's kept and has helped aid maybe with a voice of

  270. his daughters staying virgins through their time, but being

  271. the Sodom. But on the other hand, he's

  272. evidently given his OK and endorsement as the father to

  273. them being betrothed to men of Sodom.

  274. So here's lot Gordon, what day you want to meet him?

  275. Hey man, what side he wants to show you.

  276. Hey man, about who he is. And so here's God.

  277. He has this angelic visitation, Amen that he comes down and no

  278. even concerning these men that are supposedly or they are

  279. betrothed to Lot's daughters. The Bible says in verse 14 that

  280. I read in your hearing tonight that after he was told of the

  281. destruction and that he needed to bring whoever sons in law,

  282. daughters and stuff out of the city.

  283. Verse 14 tells us Lot went out. Everybody say went out, Lot went

  284. out and spake to them. The last time we're talking

  285. about Lot here in verses part of this, he's inside his home

  286. because of men and Sodom on the outside of his home wanting to

  287. do some vile and wicked things. Notice he went out of his home

  288. to speak to the men that were betrothed to his daughters,

  289. which could quite possibly mean they were among the masses of

  290. men that were around about the home wanting to do vile things

  291. with the what not didn't know at the time with the men that were

  292. inside his home. So that just starts to give you

  293. a little bit of the characterization of these men

  294. that his daughters are betrothed to that that's the type of

  295. people that that that law says this is permissible for my

  296. daughters to be engaged to think about it for a moment.

  297. And so God has this angelic visitation.

  298. He's given Lot. And one of the purposes I

  299. believe that he's given this is for lot to have a chance to

  300. exercise, Amen. Holiness, a chance to exercise

  301. sanctification muscles, if he had any in his body.

  302. Amen. Because the urging really what's

  303. taking place in Genesis 19, the urging is a urging for

  304. separation. The urging is a urging for

  305. separation. Note now not just a separation

  306. of his people, but a a separation of his things.

  307. Yes, we see in the verse that is their sons is their sons in laws

  308. is their daughters, you know, bring them out of here.

  309. But verse #12 also says after he says thy thy sons or thy

  310. daughters, He says, and whatsoever not whosoever and

  311. whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this

  312. place. So God's given the opportunity

  313. to exercise, Amen, holiness, sanctification of both people

  314. and things, and to bring them out and set them apart, Amen.

  315. From all the characterization, from the environment of Sodom,

  316. Amen. And we see this because we need,

  317. we need in our lives, places, people and things to be holy

  318. Whenever, whenever the whole story of Aiken comes down.

  319. And the children of Israel are going into Israel, right?

  320. They're going into the land of Canaan, notably, and they're had

  321. their battle against Jericho, right?

  322. And they were victorious. It was the spoils of that word.

  323. The Bible says God says you cannot take of them.

  324. They're dedicated unto me. They belong to me.

  325. Therefore to you, they are the accursed thing.

  326. They're accursed to you. You can't take of them.

  327. And the Bible says that Akin took of the accursed thing.

  328. He took these things, a Babylonian garment, a wedge of

  329. goat, some shekels of silver. He took these things and he

  330. placed them in his tent, the Bible says.

  331. Whenever we read in, in Joshua, I think it is Chapter 7 or 6, it

    Isaiah 7 chapter mention

  332. is Chapter 7 where we read in Joshua chapter #7 that Aiken was

    Isaiah 7 chapter mention

  333. stoned. It wasn't just him.

  334. He was stoned. His family was stoned.

  335. They were also burned, the Bible says.

  336. And the things that pertain to Aiken, not just what he took,

  337. but what belonged to him, all of it was burned.

  338. The Bible says he had taken the accursed thing into his tent,

  339. into his living quarters. Look at it, Trevor or not

  340. Trevor, He's not up there. That's Zach.

  341. Sorry. Amen.

  342. Joshua chapter #7 and verse 24, the Bible says.

  343. And Joshua and all Israel with him took Achen the son of Zara,

  344. and the silver, and the garment, and the wedge of goat.

  345. That's the accursed thing that he took, and his sons, and his

  346. daughters, and his oxen, and his asses, and his sheep, and his

  347. tent, and all that he had, and brought them into the valley of

  348. a core. Verse 25.

  349. And Joshua said, Why hast thou troubled us?

  350. The Lord shall trouble thee this day.

  351. And all Israel stoned him with stones, and burned them, people

  352. and things with fire, after they had stoned them with stones.

  353. See by Aitken's own admission in Joshua 7/21, he said they

  354. Speaking of the accursed thing, he said are hid in the earth in

  355. the midst of my tent. God even told Joshua.

  356. God told Joshua, he said a part of Israel has taking of the

  357. accursed thing and God even told Joshua, he said, and they put it

  358. even among their own stuff. That's verse 11 of Joshua 7.

  359. So listen, there's no greater act of trying to camouflage

  360. something like that then mixing an end with your stuff.

  361. Take a little bit of what's appropriate and mix it with a

  362. little bit of what's not appropriate.

  363. It's kind of like the lot saying we're going to keep your

  364. virginity, but I'll give you to these vile men.

  365. Someone say men lot didn't put the accursed thing in his home.

  366. In our story, he even did 1 better than that.

  367. He was so emboldened that he placed his home in the accursed

  368. thing. Does everybody understand what I

  369. just said right there? He put his home in the midst of

  370. the accursed thing. Now you can't succeed with that

  371. unless there's some definitive boundaries for your home, just

  372. like we can't succeed in this hour unless they are there as

  373. well. Genesis 19 pictures both the

  374. successes and the failures of such boundaries or so-called

  375. boundaries within Lots on life and his life of his House of the

  376. both times of weakness and times of strength.

  377. And the other thing that is necessary then in that type of

  378. environment, a resident like Lot and his family in such a

  379. compromised environment, remember he was vexed daily.

  380. New Testament Scripture tells us it's not just having boundaries,

  381. but you also need a motive of heart and a motive of mine that

  382. God's Spirit is directing because the best of boundaries

  383. will fail at a in proper mode of heart mind, because it knows how

  384. to remove the boundary. It knows how to ignore the

  385. boundary. They they needed a Daniel

  386. motive, like when Daniel was taken into Babylon in chapter #1

  387. of the book of Daniel. When the Bible says that he

  388. Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself

  389. with the King's meat, neither Amen.

  390. Take any wine, Amen. Which the king drank, Amen.

  391. What was Daniel doing? Daniel was refusing to acquire a

  392. taste for Babylon's diet. He was refusing to curb his

  393. appetite to Babylon's menu. I'm not going to eat the King's

  394. meat. I'm not going to drink.

  395. I'm not. I'm not going to drink the wine

  396. of the King's table. I refuse to dull and lower my

  397. inhibitions with what they're providing.

  398. He could have had boundaries, but it also requires A mindset.

  399. Amen. Amen.

  400. And so the angelic charge though, to Lot was absolutely

  401. clear and it was concise. You can see it again verse #12

  402. he said, Angel said bring them referring to his family, his

  403. things, bring them out of this place, out of Sodom.

  404. You know what the angels were basically then telling Lot.

  405. Your only hope at this juncture in the road Lot is that you got

  406. to separate from the place. Listen, if you if you can't have

  407. proper mode of mindset and heart for some of the things that

  408. you're exposed to in this life, it might require total severing.

  409. If it's like the Scripture says that it becomes your master,

  410. then then having boundaries are not good enough for you.

  411. You got to sever it. You got to come totally out of

  412. it and away from it and detach and discard.

  413. The Bible says love these scriptures if I want to read

  414. them. And you're hearing tonight, and

  415. by the way, a lot of this I have tonight is scripture.

  416. So that's why it's lengthy. John chapter #17 this is Jesus's

  417. high priestly prayer, right? This high priestly prayer, the

  418. Bible says look at verse #11 and then we'll skip down to verse

  419. 14. Jesus's words, He's speaking and

  420. says, and now I am no more in the world, but these Speaking of

  421. this, His disciples are in the world, and I am come to thee,

  422. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou has

  423. given me. I want to pause there just for a

  424. moment because this is the the the flesh of Jesus crying out to

  425. the spirit. This is the the the flesh nature

  426. crying out to the spirit nature of Christ Jesus.

  427. He's praying in his flesh. Holy Father, keep through thine

  428. own name, which we know the name of God.

  429. We know the name of Christ Jesus is that name, but he says keep

  430. them through thy name. But name isn't just capital,

  431. Jesus. We know according to Scripture,

  432. that name always indicates nature.

  433. Keep through thine nature those whom thou has given me.

  434. Oh, that that switches things up a little bit because I want them

  435. to have what's keeping them through thy nature, keeping them

  436. with the same characterization that you have.

  437. What is that? That's holiness.

  438. That's righteousness, that's godliness.

  439. Keep them with thy own name, thine own nature, those whom

  440. thou hast given me, and they may be one as we are.

  441. Look at verse 14. He says, I have given them the

  442. same ones, the same disciples. I have given them thy word, or

  443. by say word, give them my word. Jesus, of course, has all, all

  444. throughout his earthly ministry. He taught, He preached, He gave

  445. them, yes, the Lord's word, his, his deciding decision and

  446. guidance on certain things. But a word right here in

  447. Scripture is more than just something spoken.

  448. The word Word is something that embodies a concept or an idea.

  449. Hey man, here is Jesus. He says I've given them thy word

  450. and the world has hated them. Speaking of the disciples, the

  451. world's hated them because they are not of the world, even as I

  452. am not of the world. The interesting thing about this

  453. is that Jesus was God manifest in the flesh.

  454. He was, as John one says, the word become flesh.

  455. So there's interesting there whenever Jesus saying I've given

  456. them thy word because in a very literal sense, he was the word

  457. made flesh. He had given himself.

  458. He had given the embodiment of the concept and the idea that

  459. God had from the very beginning of the world of a Savior.

  460. Huh, of one to grow up into the image and the stature of Jesus

  461. Christ. He said I've given them, I've

  462. given them by word. The world hates them and because

  463. they're not of the world and I'm not of the world world.

  464. Verse 15 I pray not that thou should just take them, the

  465. disciples out of the world. Don't take them out of the

  466. world, but thou but thou should just keep them from the evil.

  467. Here is the mind of Christ. Here's the mind of Christ.

  468. I want to keep them in the world.

  469. Don't take them out of the world, but keep them from evil.

  470. There's only way you can do that.

  471. Boundaries. Boundaries and an affected mind

  472. and heart motive. Amen.

  473. I am convinced that Lot could have survived in Sodom if he had

  474. the proper boundaries and the right motive in heart and mind

  475. living there. But God seen through his wishy

  476. washy right here, wrong there, right Gordon?

  477. What day that lot wasn't going to survive in Sodom.

  478. He was going to have to be severed from Sodom.

  479. Hey man, look what the script says.

  480. I pray that you don't take the mound of the world.

  481. Just keep them from the evil verse 16.

  482. They are not of the world. They are not of the world.

  483. The world is not their source. They are not of the world.

  484. It's not their source, even as I am not of the world.

  485. That's interesting, isn't it, that the disciples of Christ are

  486. not of the world, and the one that they are disciples of

  487. wasn't of the world. Does that not bring up a full

  488. picture for us? That if He wasn't and we claim

  489. to have His spirit, then that same mentality should also show

  490. up in our lives? That we're not of it, huh?

  491. That if there is a blending in it, then we're not subjecting

  492. and surrendering ourselves totally to the spirit that we

  493. say we've received because He wasn't of it?

  494. Am I doing OK? He was not of it, he said verse

  495. 17 sanctify them that separate that's make holy them through

  496. thy truth. Thy word is truth.

  497. Someone say Amen. He said as thou has sent me into

  498. the world, Even so I also sent them into the world.

  499. Verse 19 And for their sakes, I sanctify myself, that they also

  500. look at this, that they also might be sanctified through the

  501. truth, which is, as verse 17 says, the word.

  502. He's saying I lived in the world.

  503. I was not of the world. I was kept from the evil of the

  504. world. I was sanctified and holy and

  505. set apart while I was in the world.

  506. And he says that was all done so that I might be an example to

  507. them, that they could live in the world, not be of the world,

  508. kept from the evil of the world, yet live holy in a sanctified

  509. life while they're in the world. You will not find a better

  510. father figure than your father figure, Christ said.

  511. He said you have 10,000 instructors in Christ, but you

  512. only have one father. He was speaking to himself as an

  513. example of a nurture, counselor, instructor, and guider for us

  514. being disciples of Christ. Verse 17, sanctify the word.

  515. Sanctify means to make holy, to separate from profane things.

  516. And he said in verse 19 that sanctification happens through

  517. truth. And verse 16 tells us that God's

  518. word is truth. Again, Jesus gave us God's word

  519. in verse #14 He said that, and Jesus gave us that both in a

  520. verbal expression and in bodily form.

  521. He was the Word made flesh. Jesus was the embodiment of

  522. God's will and God's purpose for mankind.

  523. What is that? Then when we really look at it,

  524. He died out to the flesh in the life of Christ.

  525. There was a dying out to the flesh on Calvary because he

  526. could have called 10,000 angels. The Bible says if he wanted to

  527. to sweep down and take care of it, but he had to tell his

  528. flesh, not your will, his be done.

  529. It was a dying out to the flesh so that the Spirit could have

  530. preeminence in the event of what took place.

  531. That is the example of our Father.

  532. That's the example of our Father, who the Bible says is

  533. the way, the truth and the life in so much that if we have the

  534. same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead, yes, it quickens

  535. these mortal bodies. But Romans 15 says in particular

  536. then that that Holy Ghost will sanctify us.

  537. That's in your Bibles. It says the Holy Ghost will

  538. sanctify, set us apart, make us holy.

  539. So in Lot's dilemma, am I doing OK?

  540. In Lot's dilemma, separation meant a literal parting by

  541. getting away from isolating from Sodom.

  542. And Lot's only means of safety from the pending destruction,

  543. according to the angels, was for him to separate it from it all.

  544. Here's the thing. That generation compared to our

  545. generation, that generation didn't have the privilege of

  546. being filled with the spirit of the Holy Ghost, didn't have that

  547. privilege. So matter of fact, their level

  548. of spirit interaction was much of what they were engaged in at

  549. this moment, a manifestation of God or interaction with

  550. spiritual beings. That was the extent I know

  551. sometimes and please don't mistake, I know sometimes like,

  552. oh, if we could just see an Angel hodgepodge.

  553. You got Christ's spirit living inside of you.

  554. And I'm not saying I'm not being totally derogatory here, but

  555. we're a little bit living totally Old Testament if all

  556. we're looking for is an Angel. You have the spirit of Christ

  557. living in you. You have a privilege.

  558. They didn't even have you. You asking for angels, something

  559. that they have, but whenever you talk about receiving the Holy

  560. Ghost, you're talking about a privilege they didn't even have

  561. yet. Amen.

  562. And so that's all they had at this point in time.

  563. And so separation here, talking about real, real stuff today,

  564. sanctification, separation, setting apart, there may be some

  565. things already eluded this, but there may still be some things

  566. that require complete removal of oneself from place, people,

  567. things, even as we Live Today. Often Scripture talks about that

  568. in the moment that there is separation from something, at

  569. the same time there is separation and to something and

  570. it's important to match the separation from with a

  571. separation unto because if not you separate from and you leave

  572. a void of being separated unto. What do you mean?

  573. But I mean this Romans chapter 13 and verse 11, the Bible says

    Romans 13 chapter mention

  574. and that knowing the time that now it is high time to awake out

  575. of sleep for now is our salvation.

  576. Everybody say deliverance. A lot of times when we see the

  577. word salvation, one thing we think about is death, burial,

  578. resurrection happening in our life.

  579. But the base meaning of salvation is deliverance, that

  580. our salvation to deliverance is nearer than when we believed.

  581. What do you say that well? Well, a lot of times we talk

  582. about the coming of the Lord when we talk about this

  583. Scripture. You know, our salvation is

  584. nearer than we believe. Well, I've already been saved,

  585. so I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about deliverance,

  586. because salvation is a very elastic word.

  587. I have been saved. I'm being saved.

  588. I will be saved. The Bible tells me in the future

  589. that my body, this body is not yet saved.

  590. This earthly man, this mortal is going to put on immortality and

  591. this corruptible is going to put on incorruptible.

  592. At the moment of rapture, this body will be saved.

  593. And so today my salvation or my deliverance is nearer than when

  594. I first believed. The deliverance from the O

  595. corruptness of this flesh that I'm living in is closed.

  596. And verse 12 says the night is far spent, the day is at hand.

  597. Let us therefore everybody say cast off.

  598. You see this terminology in Romans, you see it in the

  599. Epistles. Often times you're taking

  600. something off, but you're also putting something along.

  601. And you typically don't take something off without putting

  602. something on. You take off the old man, you

  603. put on the new man, You got this take off, put on, cast off, put

  604. on. It's that separate from separate

  605. unto stuff. And he says you cast off the

  606. works of darkness and let us put on the armor of light.

  607. Let us walk honestly, as in the day.

  608. Notice the knot. The series right here is a

  609. separation from not in rioting and drunkenness, not in

  610. chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envy, and that's

  611. separation from, but verse 14 is the separation unto But put ye

  612. on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make everybody say no provision.

  613. Make not provision for the flesh.

  614. To fulfill the lust there of that's where boundaries come in

  615. place. Boundaries come in place.

  616. It's like going somewhere that don't allow you to have dogs,

  617. you know, when you go on vacation, but they're like,

  618. we'll make a provision for it. You know what they're saying?

  619. We'll allow it this time, but that's not our standard

  620. practice. And when we make provisions for

  621. the flesh to fulfill the lust thereof, we're like, oh, it's

  622. just, you know, I know this isn't the regular scheme of how

  623. things work being a child of God disciple, but just this once,

  624. I'm just going to make a provision.

  625. We teaching right now. Come on, I'm just going to

  626. accommodate. This isn't the regular fair, but

  627. we're just going to make an accommodation.

  628. And I'm not trying to be brutal pastor tonight.

  629. And I know there's a few people. It's like, man, but listen to

  630. me. We can accommodate ourself right

  631. out of being saved. We we we can accommodate

  632. ourselves right in the middle of Sodom.

  633. We can accommodate ourselves right in the middle of

  634. destruction. We can accommodate ourselves and

  635. pardon me for being so, but we can accommodate ourselves to a

  636. first ticket to hell. He said cast it off and put on

  637. when we talk about separation, when we talk about

  638. sanctification, setting apart holiness.

  639. Amen. It may also mean and then we'll

  640. look at the Scripture in here. Just a moment and I'm not

  641. getting very far, but you know far enough.

  642. Praise God. Sanctification, separation means

  643. also this not, and this is just the verbage of Scripture.

  644. We'll look at it. Not yoking with certain things,

  645. not fellowshipping, not communing, not concurring, not a

  646. green with certain surroundings. Dare I say even certain populous

  647. McGee 2nd Corinthians 614 be Paul says to the Church of

  648. Corinthians not an equally yoked together with unbelievers.

  649. The phrase unequally yoked together means do not have

  650. fellowship with 1 not an equal. Oh, hold on now, don't don't

  651. have regular whenever you it's a mismatch when we talk about the

  652. yoke like the old wooden yokes that a farmer would put a set of

  653. animals within for the purpose of plowing a field, he's going

  654. to put two beasts that are the same typically similar height,

  655. similar personality, same animal.

  656. Because I have, I've even read stories where people have people

  657. over in the Middle East have have have observed a farmer

  658. putting 2 unequalled yoke animals within a yoke.

  659. One that was older or younger, one that was faster and slower,

  660. one that had height, more height than the other one.

  661. What that does that affects the gait or the stride of the

  662. animal. One may walk quicker than the

  663. other. One may be more anxious and walk

  664. quicker because of the anxiousness.

  665. The temperaments are not the same because of one that's

  666. taller, its strides going to be longer.

  667. And they have said whenever there are, when there are

  668. animals that are unequally yoked, he said all times it

  669. causes the yoke and those that are pulling the plow to walk in

  670. circles because you have a fast Trotter and a slow Trotter and

  671. they're not getting a straight line.

  672. They're they're not getting the work done.

  673. They're just going in circles. And whenever us as believers

  674. become unequally fixed and yoked with things, you're going to

  675. cause yourself a world of heartache.

  676. Nothing's going to get accomplished in your Christian

  677. journey of growth and maturity in God, and it's going to feel

  678. like all you're doing is going in circles.

  679. He says don't, don't need this mismatch.

  680. He says for what? Still in verse 14, I know he

  681. says for what fellowship or what common interest have

  682. righteousness with unrighteousness.

  683. He's trying to ask where's the lines of commonality here?

  684. He says what communion or what partnership have light with

  685. darkness? Let's think about that real

  686. quick. Light shows up, darkness goes,

  687. light leaks, darkness shows up. Place light and darkness in the

  688. same room. When you say, well, you didn't

  689. turn the lights down, it'll be a little dark.

  690. I mean, let's just get real for a moment.

  691. He's just saying what, what, what kind of what kind of

  692. partnership can there be? Verse 15 and what concord you

  693. would think musically, what harmony, what harmony have

  694. Christ with Belial. The word Belial is a Old

  695. Testament word. They'd often talk about the sons

  696. of Belial. Yes, there was a literal

  697. individual, but it was also it was just metaphorically

  698. speaking, Belial was known as worthlessness and wickedness.

  699. So So what? What concord or what harmony

  700. hath Christ with worthlessness and wickedness.

  701. Where's the harmony in those two?

  702. Not it'll be like picking 2 keys or different chords out of those

  703. different scales. There's going to be some there's

  704. going to be some discord. Huh.

  705. What? What did Amos Amos said in Amos

  706. 3/3 he posed the question. He said how can two walk

  707. together except they'd be agreed.

  708. It's, it's amazing sometimes how it happens.

  709. You know, I'm, we've done a lot of walking here.

  710. Then when he was on vacation, you know, we're walking down the

  711. road and I might start out with my right foot and Trevor start

  712. out with his left. But over time, you know what

  713. happens? We both are walking with the

  714. same foot going forward at the same time.

  715. And what happens somehow we just auto correct with whatever we're

  716. walking with and we begin to match whatever we're walking

  717. with. And a lot of times it happens

  718. subliminally, it happens involuntary.

  719. But here's one thing. I know your advocacy is not

  720. changing his walk. You know who's going to match

  721. you are. I'm still in Genesis, folks.

  722. I'm just, I'm just kind of digging around and playing in

  723. the sandbox a little bit. Hey man, he says in verse 16, Oh

  724. don't let me I don't want to quit on verse 15 here you and

  725. what part has he that believeth with the infidel or unbeliever?

  726. Verse 16 and what agreement or what accord or what approval

  727. have the temple of God, which you're supposed to be?

  728. No, you're not the year the temple of the Holy Ghost.

  729. So what what? What agreement or court of

  730. approval have the temple of God with idols for here in the

  731. temple of the living God as God have said, look at what God

  732. said. I will do well in them and walk

  733. in them, and I will be my God and they shall be my people.

  734. Someone say Amen, he says in. As a result of everything he's

  735. just said, He comes to this climax as a verse #17 that you

  736. usually hear quoted in isolation from the rest of us.

  737. But this is the whole context. Everything that was just spoken

  738. and said then Wherefore, because of all that, for reason of all

  739. that, come out from among them and be separate, saith the Lord,

  740. and touch not the uncling thing, and I will receive you.

  741. We got to back up here for a moment and I feel the Holy Ghost

  742. right now that word touch in the Greek means this.

  743. We're just thinking, Oh no, no, it means to attach oneself to,

  744. to fasten oneself to or adhere to or cling to.

  745. He says touch not the uncling thing.

  746. Don't fasten yourself to that. Don't cling to that.

  747. Don't attach yourself. I'm not.

  748. This is a whole different word about just brushing up against

  749. it and rubbing shoulders. This is a fixation I'm attached

  750. to, I'm clinging to, I'm adhering to, He said don't you

  751. do that. Come out from among them.

  752. Be separate, saith the Lord. Don't cling to that, Don't

  753. adhere to that. Don't touch that and I will

  754. receive you. Why?

  755. Because I want to dwell in you and I want to walk in you, and I

  756. don't want anything to prohibit that.

  757. I'll receive you verse 18. We're getting there.

  758. I know I'll have to quit here soon.

  759. You don't even have the time. I got 18 pages and I'm just on

  760. page 8. And he does, He continues.

  761. And I will receive you verse 18, and will be a father.

  762. And to you, all those that protector, that instructor, that

  763. counselor, everything that a spiritual head of a household

  764. should be, He says, I'll be that to you, instructor, provider,

  765. guider, all the things, and ye shall be my sons and my

  766. daughters. What the Lord's saying, He said

  767. in all that I know. Your household might not been

  768. very trustworthy, he says. But if you stay in cahoots with

  769. me, I'll make you a part of my household and I'll be a father

  770. to you. And when you can't get no

  771. guidance from your earthly father, and when your earthly

  772. father will put you in harm's way.

  773. And when your earthly father will compromise, and according

  774. to what day it is, whether or not he's going to be holy or

  775. unholy, he says, if you depend upon me, I'll make a household

  776. for you and I'll be a fuck. Hello, Bushai.

  777. I'll be a I'll be a father to you.

  778. You'll be my sons, you'll be my daughters, said the God, the

  779. Lord Almighty. The Scripture says when God had

  780. set judgment and destruction for Sodom.

  781. Here's here's the end. Here's the end Thinking here is

  782. here's what we got to come to terms with.

  783. If God has set judgment or destruction for that place,

  784. Sodom, then you don't want to have anything to do with that

  785. place. Oh, brother Magay, listen, I

  786. understand, I understand. But even in the Book of Numbers,

  787. whenever Cora, Dathan and the Byram had done their deed of

  788. rebellion against Israel, Moses and Aaron, the word had come to

  789. Israel and even to Corazon. Family destructions coming to

  790. Corus tents. The earth's going to open up,

  791. and it's going to swallow them. Here's my advice.

  792. Separate yourselves. Separate yourselves from those

  793. tents of wickedness, from those tents of wickedness.

  794. Look at it and and it's there and there's, heck, I don't know

  795. if you want to go there or not, but #16 and verse 26, here's the

  796. warning. Amen.

  797. And then this is quite detailed that Moses gave, he said touch

  798. nothing of theirs, Touch nothing of theirs, referring to Corin,

  799. his tents in that household. He said touch nothing of theirs

  800. lest ye be consumed in their sins.

  801. Does somebody hear what I'm saying right now?

  802. If it's meant for destruction, you don't want anything to do

  803. with it. Oh, God, the Bible says there

  804. was a time. When you look at it, it's

  805. Jeremiah. It's up there in my scriptures.

  806. Jeremiah 51. I think it is.

  807. There's a time that Babylon is doomed.

  808. There's pending destruction coming from Babylon.

  809. And this is what the Jeremiah, the prophet Jeremiah says.

  810. Jeremiah 51 and verse #6 this is what it says.

  811. It says flee. Everybody say flee.

  812. The understanding of who the subject is that should be

  813. fleeing. If you read the other verses of

  814. Scripture, it's Israel. He's talking to Israel.

  815. He says flee out of the midst of Babylon.

  816. Now let's just think here for a moment.

  817. They are in Babylon, of course, really of their own doing.

  818. They would want to cry and oh, you know, we're by the rivers of

  819. Babylon. How can we sing the Lord's song?

  820. Such evil land as though some like they came in the night and

  821. took them there, which they did, but they were only taken because

  822. of their own sin and basically what was happened was judgment

  823. and repercussions as a result of not keeping the Lord's Sabbath's

  824. and various other things that took place.

  825. That would be an interesting topic for another time in it

  826. that God's people spent 70 years in captivity because they didn't

  827. keep the Sabbath's. They didn't keep a time of rest

  828. to reserve for worship. Oh God, I got sticky fingers.

  829. Right now it just feels kind of. But none the less.

  830. So they are there, he says. Flee out of the midst of Babylon

  831. and deliver every man his soul. Be not cut off in her babylon's

  832. iniquity because payday's coming, but you don't want to be

  833. there for payday. You don't want to be associated

  834. with that. You don't want to be a part of

  835. that. You don't want to cling or be

  836. adhering to that because see, there is the therein lies some

  837. of the problem of those that were taken to Babylon in

  838. captivity. You know, when some had

  839. opportunity to go back home, they never went because they got

  840. the taste of Babylon in their mouth and they got the mentality

  841. of Babylon in their head and they started liking Babylon more

  842. than they liked home. He says, But be not cut off in

  843. her iniquity, for this is the time of the Lord's vengeance.

  844. He will render unto her a recompense.

  845. So whenever God marks a place or a person or a system for

  846. judgment, His call is to separate, leave, flee, avoid

  847. association and connection because to remain attached and

  848. listen to pesto very well. And I see where I'm already at.

  849. I see it everybody being Lot's wife, look behind you to remain

  850. attached. Listen, sometimes it's not just

  851. that you're physically attached. Sometimes you're emotionally

  852. still attached. You can be physically removed

  853. but still emotionally attached to Sodom.

  854. You can be physically removed from Egypt and still be

  855. spiritually attached to Egypt. And in this, it's in.

  856. We'll get there perhaps next week.

  857. But that's that's the story of Lot's wife.

  858. She left physically, but there were still some emotional,

  859. spiritual, there were still some attachments that drew her to

  860. look back. It's the same thing that

  861. happened to the children of Israel, that after four hundred,

  862. 430 years of bondage in Egypt, they're gone.

  863. They're in the wilderness, they've had deliverance, they've

  864. crossed their Red Sea glory. Hallelujah, Amen.

  865. But they're talking among themselves.

  866. Oh, I wish we had the food of Egypt still.

  867. And we've been wondering about getting a trip back to Egypt.

  868. They're away from it, but their heart and mind is still

  869. entangled in it. We need a separation of not just

  870. our physicality, but of our emotions and our spirits.

  871. I dare to say some of the struggle of Apostolic people

  872. sitting on pews is that they physically left the world, but

  873. emotionally and spiritually they're still deeply entrenched

  874. in the world. Oh man, I guess this is just as

  875. good a place to stop as any staying with me,

  876. man. I feel you, Holy Ghost.

  877. Oh Jesus, Jesus. Jesus.

  878. Jesus. Can we just begin to talk to the

  879. Lord? Hallelujah.

  880. Right now. I need you, Jesus.

  881. I need you, Jesus, Oh God, I need thee, O Lord.

  882. I need thee. I need thee.

  883. I need thee. I need thee, O Lord.

  884. God, You have a plan, You have a way of escape, Lord, you have an

  885. alternative. God, You have means and you have

  886. ways. God, if I just adhere to the

  887. means and the ways. If I just put in place the

  888. boundaries, Lord, if I just allow my motives to be swayed

  889. and influenced by the spirit and the directing of my heavenly

  890. Father who will create a household for me, God, If I'll

  891. just somehow receive, Lord, a spirit God that will fight for

  892. me whenever I surrender totally to it to allow me to come back.

  893. Lord, the fellowshipping Lord and the communing, oh Lord Jesus

  894. and the accords God that I make with unsavory things that would

  895. wish to dilute and compromise and jeopardize the Lord my life

  896. and my walk and my talk and my relationship, I pray, O God,

  897. with you, oh God, the offense about me.

  898. O Lord, help me to understand the things that simply cannot be

  899. tolerated. And that must be severed.

  900. God, the separating God you have, Lord, empowered.

  901. You prayed the prayer in your last prayer here on earth.

  902. God, you put me in the world, but I'm not of the world to keep

  903. me from the evil of the world. Oh, God, you've done it.

  904. Lord Jesus, that I'd be sanctified through your word.

  905. That your word is truth. God, you're the very embodiment

  906. of every will and purpose of God.

  907. That it's a possibility. Oh God, it's a possibility.

  908. Lord, you were not in the world. We're not in the world.

  909. They hated you. They'll hate us.

  910. God, you did everything you did as an example.

  911. God bless us as your disciples could have been done in us as

  912. well. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,

  913. yes, yes, yes, yes. Help us to lead on well, God, so

  914. that we don't lose much. Help us to lead well, God, so we

  915. don't lose much. God.

  916. Let fathers, let me and God be spiritual leaders in their home

  917. and their families. Help them, Lord Jesus, to be

  918. beacons of reason, God of the instruction of the Holy Ghost.

  919. Help us not to live Lord Jesus, dual lives.

  920. Help us not to live Lord dual lives God and bring confusion

  921. and puzzling among the generation that is.

  922. Hallelujah, Hallelujah. Hallelujah.

  923. I love you, Jesus. I love you, Jesus.

  924. Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.

  925. God. I love you, Lord.

  926. I love you, Lord. I love you, Lord.

  927. Someone said thank you, Jesus, Hallelujah.

  928. Hallelujah. I guess that's part A of this

  929. lesson. Part B will be next Wednesday.

  930. Amen. Haven't had to do that in a

  931. while, but you know, you know, Amen.

  932. God bless you. Have a good week.

  933. Please remember Sister Brendan and her family in prayer

  934. tomorrow again. She'll arrive at the hospital at

  935. 5:00 and I know that because being there with my own 2

  936. parents, I know her children and stuff.

  937. Everybody will just be it just be a pins and needles scenario

  938. because of the seriousness of everything.

  939. So Please remember her and then it's going to be a long day,

  940. Amen And they're going to need the help of the Lord, Amen.

  941. Pray for me that I can be of some help if just a supportive

  942. encouraging, you know, face Amen among them Hallelujah God bless

  943. you tonight Jesus name came come on Sunday I'll be in the AM but

  944. the champion be in the PM champion music Amen all day.

  945. Amen Amen. God bless you in Jesus name.
