Praise the Lord, everybody say praise the Lord, man.

There's a sweet presence of the Lord in this place this morning.

I feel him in here. I felt him when I first walked

in early this morning. He was in this house already and

I acknowledge that he was here and we're just happy that God is

here and you all are here. Amen.

I know you all see that vacuum cleaner sitting down there.

I really told Brother Reese we was going to have a contest this

morning. We was going to put this up

against his newer vacuum cleaner and it was going to suck him up

off of there and just telling you it would be no contest at

all. This old one will win, I

guarantee you. Amen.

So happy that you are here this morning.

Amen. I know there's a lot of people

out this morning, but I'm glad that Jesus is not out.

He's in the house, man. I checked this morning early to

make sure he was here and he was he was here.

He's been here this weekend. I'm telling you, I've, I've been

over here studying here and there and, and me and the Lord

just had a really good time this week.

We've you know, I've had a lot of I've had some interruptions

this week, You know, after great service last Sunday and, and go

home and take a nap and then wake up kind of feeling it just

got me while I was asleep. That's what the devil does.

He works on you while you're asleep.

But I laid around all day Monday, but by Tuesday I told my

wife this, this is going to stop.

I'm tired of it. So I told her, I said, I tell

you what, I'm just going to. I think I can get rid of all

this right here if I just get up and walk.

I want to. I'm not going to let you give

him a chance to settle in. I'm going to get up.

So I started just walking. I went ahead and walked my 3

mile and I walked some more and I walk every day.

I've been walking. So every time I'd feel that

little feeling like I was getting achy and all, I'd get up

and take a walk. Didn't leave, so thank God we

won. We're here this morning, Amen.

Hallelujah. Well, happy Grandparents Day to

all of our grandparents and you that are listening online,

Sister Craig, Sister Jessup, Sister Margaret, God bless you

all this morning, Amen, in our presence.

I'm going to be turning to second Timothy this morning.

Hey, man, I'm, I'm going to let you know that I'm not done with

the code yet, but you know, I might, you will touch it a

little bit this morning, but I may get back to a code 3 brother

Trevor, not 2 1/2 at 3. So hey, man, I'm going to be

turned to second Timothy chapter #1 and it's, it's, it's nothing

new. It's, it's, it's familiar.

You all have heard it so many times.

It's a very familiar story. But something struck me in that

story and brought back some things because it's got the

remembrance in it. And I began to remember, as I

began to study, I began to remember some things.

And I'm going to take you down a little bit of memory lane

because this is Grandparents Day and I'm a grandparent and a

great grandparents. So I can take you back a few

years and I want you to just walk with me this morning.

As pastor would say, Second Timothy, chapter 1, starting at

2 Timothy 1 · chapter mention

verse #7 I'm on or five and reading through 7, five through

7. When I call to everybody said

remembrance, the unfeigned faith that is in thee.

I'm feeling Holy Ghost already, which dwelt first in thy

grandmother Lois and thy mother Eunice.

I am persuaded that in thee also, wherefore I put thee in

remembrance. Everybody said Remembrance that

thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee, by the putting

on of my hands. For God hath not given us the

spirit of fear, but of power. Everybody said power and of

love. Everybody said love and of a

sound mind. Everybody said a sound mind.

We need that today. Heavenly Father, thank you,

Lord, for Your word, for it's forever settled in heaven, God,

and it will stand when everything else falls, because

your word will not fall. God, I've asked you, Lord, to

bless us this morning in this service.

Bring our minds together for this word.

Lord, help me God, to minister the way you want me to minister.

That some life would be touched and changed this morning.

God, maybe, but taking our little journey down the road of

remembrance in Jesus name, Amen. Amen.

Lord, I want to minister on this subject.

The legacy of the code. The legacy of the code.

Amen. In our scripture text today,

Paul is admonishing Timothy from the prison.

He is in prison, but his, his son Timothy, as he would call

him, he is admonishing to carry on the work because Paul knows

that his days probably are finished as far as going out and

ministering. So he's calling upon his son

Timothy to carry on this work. So he's bringing to remembrance

some things in Timothy's life that maybe, maybe kind of had

failed by the wayside through the years.

You know, often times we failed to see where our legacy come

from, where are where, where where we come from.

We, we, we tend to forget that there was some things that

happened and that's the reason we're where we're at.

So here Paul was telling Timothy of his of his life, where it was

and how he came to where he is. I want to remind you yet this

morning, I don't want to get off the codes.

I want you to remember it because it's not through yet,

even after this. But I want to remind you that

codes refer to a set of laws, rules and principles that govern

behavior and a guide a person's actions.

It has everything to do with your life codes does and and

since I'm not done with according to the code, but yet

felt God turn my mind a little bit different direction this

week when I began to think about of it being grandparents Day.

He turned my mind a little bit toward this that maybe because

of the day that is you know, grandparents Day.

Maybe that's what he done it for.

But mostly because I seen that I that that I thought God could

speak to us in a story which fits the occasion well.

And this occasion does fit it very well.

Grandparents Day. So would you go with me on this

journey to see if God doesn't speak to you this morning about

the code that you have been following and maybe why you're

following that code, why you're where you're at, why you are the

person that you are? Amen.

I'll allow me this morning, Hallelujah to take you down this

road and then let me take you back three generations this

morning because let's let's let's deal with let's deal with

my title. Maybe first the word legacy.

It is something left by will or a bequest.

Everybody said a bequest. I like that word.

It's a it's a bequest. It's it's anything as that as a

characteristic derived from an ancestor.

It's something that's derived from an ancestor or it's

something can't. Can I say I just plain oh, it's

a hand me down. It's it's a bequest.

It's something that you've got because of somebody else.

It's been passed down to you. God, thank you for some things

that's been passed down to me in my life.

Thankful for the church this morning of the things that's

been passed down to us. Thank you Jesus, for all of our

forefathers and mothers that have walked this road and they

have proven that it's true and it's steadfast and it will take

you through. It's it's it maybe not an easy

Rd., but it's a easy Rd. if you live it hard or it's a hard Rd.

if you try to live it easy. Amen.

Thank you Jesus, Hallelujah then.

So I'm glad for the hand me downs.

And then our scripture text this morning speaks of the

remembrance of the unfeigned faith.

Unfeigned faith. Unfeigned simply means genuine.

It's not a show if you please, but it's real.

It's something you could see. It's something you could grab a

hold of. Because when faith shows itself,

you have no problem recognizing it.

Hallelujah. Oh Lord, let me show you why

your genealogy is important. Yet we hate it in the Bible,

right? I've heard nobody that likes to

read about genealogies. Everybody's skip over this.

Let's So in our scripture text, Paul is given Timothy a charge

Amen from prison to carry on the work which Paul had started and

reminded him of where he had come from.

Paul takes him back 3 generations and I like this and

I didn't even realize how much and how fitting it was till I

began to study. But this unfeigned faith that is

in Timothy, which dwelt first in thy grandmother, he says Lois

thank God for Lois and thy mother Eunice.

And I am persuaded that envy also.

Oh, I love it. You know, whenever Paul begins

to speak to Timothy, he starts building him up from where he

came from. You know, it was Lois before

your mother and and your mother, you know, here she is.

And she's brought you along and she's brought you, Timothy, to

where you are now. And the same faith that was in

your grandma and in your mother and now it's in you.

He maybe Paul didn't even maybe maybe Timothy didn't even

recognize what he had left from grandma and mother.

But Paul lets him know that I see the same faith that was in

Lois and in your list. I see it in you, boy, I don't

know about you, but that make me feel good.

I start feeling a little bit of goose pimples on my goose

pimples saying, Oh my Lord, something that they had, they

passed to me. And now I can feel that.

That's good feeling. Nothing wrong with feeling that.

Hallelujah. It's unfeigned, it's genuine.

It can you, you can't mistake in this.

It's real stuff. Hallelujah.

Thank you, Jesus. Unfeigned love.

Hallelujah, unfeigned love. Let me let me remind you that

unfeigned love is real. Real love is according to the

code, it's in the Bible, it's all the way through it.

You can't, you can't just think about it.

You can't just hope it, but it's got to be real.

It's faith is something that you live.

It's not what you think about or hey, faith is real.

And if you don't have real faith, you'll falter in your

walk with God because you cannot do it without faith.

Hallelujah. You got to believe something.

You got to believe this word when you pick it up and read it,

it's got to become real to you before it's ever going to do

anything for you. Hallelujah.

So James 226 says, For as the body without the spirit is dead,

so faith without works is dead also.

So we got to have faith with works, you know?

Yeah. Everybody wants to use the

script. Faith without works is dead.

That's a good thing. I'm going to tell you something.

It takes both of them. You got to believe it.

And if you believe it enough, you'll do something about it.

I can tell you all day long. Well, I'm I can go out there and

Sister Mcgee's car, start, say hey, it'll start.

So how you know that? I just know it.

Well, show me. You know, it'd be a terrible

thing if I walked out there and it didn't then, wouldn't it?

He said, Oh my, your faith was lost.

No, my faith isn't lost. Come on.

Hallelujah. Faith is not lost.

But I'm telling you, faith is real and it's Ginuwine, and you

don't want to take it lightly when you've got a piece of it

because it's like a grain of mustard seed.

It's small, but I'm going to tell you it can that that grain

of mustard seed. If you remember the mustard seed

growed into a great tree and and birds settled in it just from a

little bitty seed. You know what I've always

thought and I and, and I've and I've told my son this because

when he had, he had text me and, and they got there, he said,

Dad, you're going to have to pray said that this, this is

not, you know, hey, we're used to having 30 and 40 people in

this and this, this, this prison here is only loud as 20 people.

And he said, you know, we've got 3 real quick that's gone just

cause brother McDonald had to have surgery.

So that takes out three. He said then to top it all off,

brother, brother Cardin had two people that was supposed to be

here and because of tornado warning and stuff going on down

there, planes wouldn't get off the ground so they missed their

flight. So he said, dad, we're down to

two. I'm running a little bit of

fever. You know, it's prison week.

You know, he always says that and it says it for a reason

because there's always something going to try to interfere with

you going in and preaching to However, hundreds of ladies and,

and God might do something. You know, he, he, they can

repent. Some of them get filled with the

Holy Ghost and baptized in Jesus name.

Hey, hey, when the devil sees that, hey, he don't like it.

So he's going to try to do something.

So he's working on both ends. He's working on me too.

He thought I'm going to keep him preaching you, Odell, you just

lost because I'm going to do it in Jesus name.

So I've been moving all week, you know, don't do it.

I'd come over and I'd make a few laps around the church and I'd

pray. I'd go in my office and I'd

study and you know, if I ate come, I'd come back out and I'd

start running again a little bit.

God, you know, because I aim to do it in the name of Jesus.

OK, let's get the meat of this. A few years.

This, this is I'm going to take you back now, a few years back

because of my daughter Rhonda, who loves genealogy.

I know all eyes on Rhonda. She loves ancestry and of all

things graveyards. She likes to visit graveyards.

That's my daughter. I don't know which side of the

family she got that from. I guess I've ministered at a few

funerals. Maybe that's what it is.

I don't know. Yes, that's right.

She likes to visit graveyards and and I found out I love that

about her because because of that interest, I got to meet my

Grandpa McGee. He died before I was born.

I knew nothing about him. Nothing at all had a picture of

him. I think there's a picture up

there. I think there is a picture of

him that I run onto. So my little daughter Rhonda,

that likes all that kind of stuff, begin to search things.

Because of that interest I got to meet my Grandpa McGee, whom

I'd never met. And I can almost hear you now.

How in the world did you do that?

Well, it was through the death and not the life.

If I got a picture up there, is it?

Oh, OK, looking forward back there.

OK, thank you. That's my grandpa, that dark

headed guy, that's my grandma sat beside him and that dude

back here with his elbow up, that's my daddy.

Then there's my Uncle Bill and Uncle Jim sat on mammals lap.

My grandma was quite a person. She walked on crutches all of

her life. She had one leg that was it was

a little short leg and had a little foot on it.

She dealt with that her whole life.

But if you set her down on the floor she'd beat you up.

She died at a 91 years old. It was quite a lady, but my, my,

my Papaw died at 61 years old from Bright's disease.

That's, that's a kidney disease. If you want to look it all up.

It's a lot involved in it. He had that for about a year and

died. So Sister Rhonda found out,

found a obituary which I'd never seen, that had information on it

that I never knew, and it really changed my life.

My grandpa Robert McGee was an active member at the First

Pentecostal Church in Bloomington, IN.

I thought I was just a second generation Pentecost.

The singers of that Pentecostal church sung at my grandpa's

funeral, and Reverend Ray Faulkner, the preacher of that

Pentecostal church, preached his funeral.

So I'm a third generation Pentecostal.

I'm talking about grandpa. Now grandparents, we're blessed.

My mamaw as I knew her years later, well not too many years

later because she got married again.

I had a step papaw and he was great, but I don't believe my

Mama was a Pentecostal. He chewed the good and spit the

juice and ever now and then would say a word or two that I

didn't really agree with until daddy get ahold of her and say

not around here mom, not around here mom.

So I met my Papaw because of Rhonda likes to visit

graveyards. I want to tell you something.

It's important because Timothy's grandma Lois passed faith down

to Timothy's mother Eunice. That's important.

It's important that you know who you who you came from.

So I found out that my Pentecostal part not just come

from my daddy, but it came from his daddy because my daddy was

backslid. I remember him as just a kid,

that he was a backslidden Pentecostal.

Mama never knew nothing about church.

She knew she knew nothing about religion.

She was not raised even near religion.

She couldn't read or write because Mama had a very young

age because of my grandma on that side dying before I knew

her, that Mama took. She was the oldest.

She was the oldest daughter and she took and raised kids all of

her life. So she didn't need to get to go

to, she didn't get to go to school.

She was in the orphanage even. She had a hard life.

She had a terrible life. But there's one thing, if I

could ever say anything, it would be that Mama was a good

person. Hallelujah.

See, Understand this because Timothy's grandma Lois passed

down this faith to Eunice, and she was a Jewish lady.

But I want you to ring. I want.

If you'll grab a hold of anything, I want you to grab a

hold of this. His daddy was not Jewish.

He was a Greek. A Pagan if you please.

So I'm going to tell you it makes a difference which side of

the family you get it from or if you get it from both or one

side. And if you got the right thing,

then thank God for it. Come on.

If you got a hold of the right code down through your life,

then thank God for the code. Hallelujah.

Thank you, Jesus. And I, I want to say this, that

even though Timothy's dad was a Pagan, Timothy come up under his

mama's wing and under grandma's wing.

I don't know what all daddy had to do with it, but I'm going to

tell you one thing. He stuck to the code, He stuck

to mammal, he stuck to Eunice, his Mama, and he followed them.

He followed the right way. Hallelujah.

Timothy stuck to the code, and he received the unfeigned the

genuine faith from his mother Eunice.

Who Who you follow makes the difference.

I said who you follow makes all the difference in the world.

First Corinthians chapter #7 and verse 14.

For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the

unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband.

Else were your children unclean? But now are they holy?

I don't care if just one of you are serving God, you can make

your children whole. Somehow we got to grab this.

You think, well, I got an unsaved husband.

I got an unsaved wife. That don't make any difference.

Come on, come on, teach them children anyway.

Don't care what Mama says, Don't care what Daddy says.

If they're on the opposite by the fence, so be it.

But I'm going to follow after the code.

I'm glad you had a Grammy that followed it close enough to you

wanted to hunt up the right code, and Grandma's all right

with that. Always tell Grammy, Grammy,

you've done a good job. You've done a good job.

Oh, she'll say, oh, I don't know.

You all have done a good job. Hey, we just took on where you

left off. Grammy.

He's still, he's still going. Oh, he's still learning.

He's still picking up things. Come on.

Hallelujah. We're blessed, Church, if you're

on the right side of the fence, you're blessed if you come from

a godly family and come on, we can't go down your generation.

We could. We could go down to grandpa's

and Mama's and grandma's and we could do all of that because

I've known them for a lot of years before this guy's ever

even thought about, even before Daddy was thought about.

Thank you, Jesus. But you know what?

The Wrights grabbed a hold of the right thing.

And because of that, brother Ethan Wright is sitting in our

meal and he was rotten as a child.

He won't. He won't deny that at all.

You didn't even want to look at him cross eyed.

I got Amen there shoo, but look at him today.

It didn't wonderful what God can do.

He took a bunch of us nothings and he made something out of us.

Praise the Lord, Hallelujah. Now let me relate.

Let me relate. I'll go back now to my side.

I'm switching back and forth, but I want you to get this.

My mom married a backslidden Pentecostal man and had no

knowledge of church or God. Yet I never, ever heard a bad

word ever come out of Mama's mouth.

That's saying a lot, but I can't say that about my daddy.

When he backslid, he really backslid, man.

He hit the bars and played in the honky tonks.

And yeah, I'm going to tell you now.

The only knowledge my mother had was what Daddy had told her or

read to her about. She couldn't read, she couldn't

write. But I began to think Mama had a

whole lot of knowledge because she knew more Bible and couldn't

even read a lot of people that reads it.

She could sit down and start quoting scriptures to somebody.

Yet it was through my mother that this thing was passed down

to me. Think about it.

I got a backslidden daddy. I got a mother that's never ever

known God. But when I grow, when I grew

sick at three years old, when I had rheumatic heart and scarlet

fever together and my eyes had rolled back in my head and my

fever was burning up and they picked me up and on the bed and

they rushed me to Wabash General Hospital.

I remember that ambulance ride. I still I saw only thing.

I really remember of that. I remember that because even

though I was burning up with fever and sick, that was

something buddy. I got to ride in the Hearst.

I know I'll get it right in one more time probably.

But you know, I was alive and wrote in it, so, you know, that

was cool. Even though I was hot, you know,

it was, it was something. So the only knowledge that Mama

had was through Daddy. So Mama, evidently I, I began to

think this through yesterday in my office and I, I began to

think very hard at about it that Mama must have listened very,

very well. She wasn't a Eve evidently,

because Adam had to tell Eve about and she still sin.

But but Mama, whenever her baby boy got sick, it seemed like the

Mama started searching for something to cure a healing if

you please, or something. So she began to search out

somebody, somebody that had some power that could pray for her

son. So she searched out somebody and

and she brought them to the hospital to pray for me and they

prayed for me. And Mama had made a she had, she

was she, she was in it enough. She had a hold of the right code

enough. Even though she didn't know

nothing about it. She had a hold of the right code

enough that she said, Jesus, I want to tell you something.

I'll whatever it takes. I'll if, if, if you heal my son,

I'll serve you the rest of my life.

Mama stood good at that promise. She must have listened to Daddy

very well. See, there was something that

must have struck her heart in the code that Daddy was

presenting to her as he read the book and told her the stories.

She grabbed a hold of some of them and she wasn't going to

turn loose. So the Long story short that

Mama's baby boy got healed. He wasn't.

He wasn't going to be able to work like other men who is not

going to be able to play like other kids because of his

condition. But I remember time after time

Mama ever that you know, that always says when she when I was

going to school, she's scared to death.

You know, she's scared to send me school.

She's afraid something happened. But you know what?

I remember them taking me the doctor before school began.

You know what? The answer was always the same.

There's no sign. No sign.

Everything's clear. Everything's all right.

And I grew up in mechanic for 33 years and don't get no harder

than that. Sorry, it don't.

Automobiles, tractors, diesels, construction equipment.

I've done it all out in the fields.

I was the only person that didn't send me help.

It was radio dispatched and I went from one job to the other

lifting heads off of diesel's by myself out in the field.

That was before they had the gin poles and all that on trucks.

You had to do it manually. Well, what I'm trying to tell

you is because of Mama grabbing a hold of the right code that

this boy is standing before you today who he must have told her

good stories. I, I almost would like to been

there to tell you hear him tell the stories.

Now I remember later years him reading a Bible to because of

because of Mama that daddy came back in because the first church

is where that happened. Y'all.

That was my church when I was a little kid.

I was I was in the youth there. I was, you know, we had youth

service on Sunday night before church, you know, and we do

little games, you know, like y'all do, you know, well, get

out the Bible. Who could get the verse of the

quickest or answer, answer questions?

Pastor Pastor Corbett would answer questions and see who had

the answer. And was all of that was it was

it was that Mama? I don't know.

I can't tell you how long Mama was in church before Daddy

showed up, but I can tell you one thing.

I remember a revival in Kingsburg Pentecostal Church in

that first little church and it was before there was any padded

pews, Brother Mike, it was when they were old slatted pews.

That's what it was. It was, it was, it was the old,

the old church, the old first church.

Come on, Brother Mike, come to life here.

Brother Mike, that first, first church, you know, it had the

slatted pews. It didn't, you know, remember

they were just painted. They didn't had openings in

them, you know, they had had the had the bulb hanging down here,

you know, just yeah, just it was just a light hanging down here

and you screwed it in there. It was that old Apostolic

Church. It that we didn't have no air

conditioned. We had a potbelly stove back

here to keep warm by put throw some wood and coal in it and,

and warm it up. Somebody come and warm it up

before church, you know, and and we had the best of bathrooms.

They they was out back, you know, we we had a woman's in a

man's and we even had buddy seat.

Remember that, brother Tara? Freddie, I know you do.

Thank God that was changed before I came to be pastor.

But I'm telling you, I'm taking you back this line because this

is where some of you may have a different story, but maybe a lot

like it, that made you find God. Hallelujah.

I remember revival Brother Ted Kendall was preaching and he he

was from French Lick IN and he'd drive down there and, and, and

had preach revival every night. I remember that Sister Cox, we'd

open the windows, you know, because the screens up and man,

you know, let the air blow through because it was hot, you

know. And I remember that Brother

Kendall, he his, his, his face, he was a little short guy and

his face had turned red and he'd start preaching.

And I remember looking kind of out this left side, the windows

up. I seen my daddy out there.

And you know what, during those days, I remember that those

windows become full of people watching from the outside.

And there was a guy watching with dad.

Dad, tell me the story later said we stand out there

watching. He said, that guy said, did you

feel that come out that window? He said, yeah, that's a Holy

Ghost. Dad's starting to remember now.

Come on, come on, church. I want to take you back to

remembrance when the power of God was real and it flew out the

windows and it grabbed people. Come on, that.

We need that to happen right here.

It needs to fly out these doors and down these streets and

people. It's called the Holy Ghost.

Oh, I got to hurry up. Thank you.

Jesus Hallelujah. So here we are Thank God.

So daddy he he wasn't a backslider MO more he come in he

repented restored. Hey, man, he was a good daddy.

After that he drink no more booze, none of that junk.

He got rid of his Kentucky Twist and Mammoth Cave.

And I know y'all don't know what that is.

It's tobacco. It's a plug, a square plug.

And then they got this year that's twisted up because Jerry

probably knows a little bit about it's Kentucky, you know,

Kentucky Twist. Thank you mothers and

grandmothers for the gospel that you've passed on after after

Mama died December 1960199519601995 Answers to

Mama's prayers that she had prayed all her whole life for

her family began to be poured out in 1996.

In 199628 new souls were born in the Kingdom of God, baptized in

Jesus name and filled with a hope see and and it wasn't just

my mother. There was other precious

mothers, grandmothers that was praying for their family like

Sister Jewel Adams. My Mama stopped the devil to

death, you know. She she hated him she'd she'd

all she's all time prayer. I hate him.

I hate him. I hate him.

I hate you. I'm stomping you.

You're always putting him under her foot.

And Sister Jewel, she get up and testimony,

every time there was prayer requests, Mr. Jewel would

request prayer for her family. Some of them are in here today.

Some of them's not here, but they come here.

What a great and wouldn't you know what a great thing, Brother

Freddie, after Grandma Jewel died, he want to do something to

leave a memory for her, not for her to be forgotten or erased.

You know what? We need not to forget where we

came from. So this was it.

I know we've had so many people come through here.

It's clean church. I don't like that vacuum

cleaner. It's heavy.

They want it. They don't want to work at it.

They want to push a button and watch it go all over the floor

and do it for you. But you know what, Brother

Freddie? If anybody around here uses

this, it's me. You know why?

I told Sister McGee I'll pick up on them junk things.

This thing will suck them all up.

Buddy, when you start this thing up, it's going to get it.

It'll suck at you can watch it in front of you'll suck at

carpet right up off the floor. And I thought I had to think,

Brother Freddie, because this came to me, was my office

yesterday. So I cleaned that vacuum cleaner

up and brought it out here because I got thinking.

This fits Sister Jewel so well because she was going to suck

every answer out of God if she could and get her family saved.

She's going to get it done. Her and Mama together, buddy,

they just going to get see that their family was saved because

they're going to request prayer. You're going to get tired of

hearing them, but they're going to say it every service, every

time they get a chance. But Freddie, that's here.

Why you're here, That's why you're here.

I began to think about this yesterday and, and how that

really works, But I don't know whether you, but maybe it maybe

it hasn't hit you like that. But Sister Jewel was a crier

constantly. When she got blessed, it was it

was I was holding a hanky. I remind you of Vestal Goodman

there. Oh, Hallelujah, telling you

there are so many that have went down this road and because of

who they were causes us to be who we are.

Because a lot of times I remember you ever noticed that

when you go to service and, and, and there's such a great time

and, and, and, and you, maybe you get a hold of that crying

spirit and you get crying and can't stop and your eyes are

soaked all the way through service and, and, and have you

ever, have you ever, I don't know, maybe I'm on one field

site. But after you get through, I

began to think how Sister Jewel must have felt.

I think she felt clean. There's something about that

crying spirit that when it gets on you, when you get through,

you feel clean. You know why?

Because it's godly. Sorrow worketh repentance, and

there's something that happens inside of you and you're not

understanding or realizing it, but you're becoming cleansed by

your own tears. Jesus.

Everybody said it's according to the code somebody shot.

It's all right. Oh, yeah.

Sister Betty Phelps. I know I'm going down the line

here to see. I'm going to I'm going to show

that I got some remembrance a little bit.

I've got it up here, boy, this morning.

I don't know about tonight, but sister Betty very special

they're hey, this family is all connected with them realizing or

not Sister Betty was his aunt. Mr. Betty and Jewel were

sisters. I remember them as a little

bitty kid and your Mama Linden out in front of the church.

We all would get out there, us little guys, and we throwing it

was a red hall tree there and he's all throwing red halls.

I used to throw red halls in his mom and he'd throw, she'd throw

red halls at me. And we have red hall that fight

at church. But I'm going to tell you

something. God done something to it.

Sister Betty. I remember Brother Freddie

whenever the altar was taken out of the Parson when well, the

first church and we turned it into a Parsonage.

You remember what she said, said, give me a piece of the

altar. Oh, God, I begin to think about

that Brother Mason yesterday. I begin to weep.

And I thought, Lord, give us some people that want a piece of

the altar. Give us some people that want a

piece of the altar. Mr. Betty took that piece of

altar home with her. She began to stick request on

that thing. And every day she prayed over

those requests. I'm telling you, some people

come up because of Sister Betty's prayers and you could

have been a part of Sister Jewel and and Ma'am, O Mcgee's and all

of those because they were all seeking God for your souls.

Holy Hallelujah, man, I feel this.

Oh, Glory, I won't forget Sister McGee, Sister Betty told us just

not long before she died, she she opened our eyes, which I say

she's right. She said it's going to get to

the place, Brother and Sister McGee, where the doctors don't

even have the answers. And she said, you know what

we're going to have to do? We have to go back and start

praying and said instead of depending on the doctors, we're

going to have to say, God, you've got this.

She said. It's going to get to the place

to where you're going to have to call on Jesus again.

She's right. Hallelujah.

Sister Bonnie Young. In fact, she was in this church.

We first came here. Betty was too.

I remember Sister Bonnie, Brother Freddie.

If she started laughing, the Holy Ghost, watch out because

before long it was going to spread over the whole church.

It was catching. Everybody got it.

For, you know, we had the laughingest giggle in this

church you ever seen. She's laughing.

The Holy Ghost. She couldn't stop it.

You know what it was? The joy of the Lord was her

strength. Even in her sickness, she could

laugh in the Holy Ghost. Come on church.

When she couldn't hardly make it to church, couldn't hardly

breathe, only 15% of her heart was working. that Lady was

laughing in the Holy Ghost. Yet we get a little bit of

headache can come to church. That's God that kids got.

It's got the snot. So everybody stays home.

Blow that poor kids nose. You know what?

When I was a kid, Sister Cox, I remember my mom and dad picking

me up just taking to church no matter if I was sick or not.

And they put me under the queue and have church.

Yes, I guess what a lot of times I went home.

Well, I know. Oh yeah, different day, Bishop.

It is Boy, is it. Maybe we need to go back to the

old pass. Maybe we need to search out the

old pass. Sister Nadine.

I'm I'm trying y'all Sister Nadine.

I remember her. Sure.

He said I was her favorite nephew.

Wasn't even by blood, but I was her favorite nephew.

I loved her to death because you know why when that lead all over

and you just going to hear her voice carrying this auditorium,

she's going to fill up the auditorium with her voice.

And she used to be rougher than a cob.

My wife and I was going together.

She was a mess, but she could become a good mess for Jesus.

You know why? Because Daddy was a minister,

which was Sue's, Sue's grandfather, his brother

Junior's, daddy too. He was a minister and pastor,

and Daddy brought her upright. She may have went hunting with

him, but it wasn't just hunting, she learned.

Somehow he got some truth instilled within her and guess

what she drove farther than anybody in this church.

She drove from Carmi, Illinois ever service.

He didn't even miss when it snowed.

Her husband say you going to stay home this morning.

He should. No, I'm not.

I'm going to church. She come she drive all the way

to camp meeting up Santa Claus IN come on.

I'm talking about people that had a passion.

Come on, they had unfeigned faith genuine that you could not

touch. I remember getting a phone call

we ours in the morning in the Parsonage.

I believe it was she says. Son, you're going to have to

praise that I got a daughter that's we're going to have to

take the hospital and do a do a appendicitis surgery.

Said she's she's in so much pain.

She put her on prayer band. Guess what?

But morning that done nothing. She's home, she's healed.

Come on. I'm talking about church

unfeigned faith that's real, that works and it's still

working today. If we'll grab a hold of it.

Glory Hallelujah. Lord, give us some more Lois's

and Eunice's. We'll pass this thing down to

the next believer, the next person.

Sister Irene, my wife's mother, she was in this church when she

got happy. He rode her boat backwards and

she starts singing in tongues. Such anointing could fill this

place. You know why she had unfeigned?

Faith. She had enough faith when they

lived in Mammoth, Peoria, IL up there someplace.

She had asthma so bad she could not go to church.

She could not breathe. My wife was taking care of kids.

He raised them, I'm telling you, and they were in revival.

Mama was Irene was going to go every night.

One one day she got up and it's snow on the ground.

It's cold. Irene, I want you to go out and

walk around this house 7 times. I'm sick, she said.

I went outside, I started walking, I started breathing, I

started speaking in tongues. Guess what?

She never did have asthma anymore.

God healed her. Come on, God is faithful if

we'll be faithful and real to him.

Oh, Jesus, Sister Craig, I know you're out there.

This morning. Sister Craig and I graduated

together. We were buds.

Some I don't know, so I remember.

I know some of them. I think maybe I'm in English,

I'm not sure. Anyway, we sit across from each

other on table. I know, I know this morning that

Sister Craig is reaching out for her family.

This is something she's been reaching out for for some time.

She's claiming Larry and I'm claiming Larry, but I'm claiming

the Holy Ghost now. He's done being baptized now,

Pastor put him under in the name of Jesus, but I'm come on.

Hey, he, he might be visiting her some more now.

No, you know what? God could fill Larry with the

Holy Ghost while he's, while I'm talking this morning.

Come on, if we let loose, come on and have that unfeigned faith

that's real. God can do things.

Even though we're in this house and we're speaking out over the

Airways on the other end, God can make a connection.

Thank you, Jesus, Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus.

Sister Jessup, bless your heart. She lived beside me all these

years and 19 years out there in the trailer court and every now

and then they'd be a little knock on our door, Sister Cox

and Sister Jessup and she'd open door.

She she didn't care where she come in or not.

She's just. But McGee says to me, God, I

need you to pray for me, man. I'm telling you what, you put

your hand on her and it was just like she started shouting to go

back home. Well, one, because our prayers.

It's because of unfeigned faith. Oh, Lord.

Then their sister Margaret. It's the closest thing to I got

to a mother now left. That's all.

Mama's only sister left. You got to watch her.

Sometimes she tries to be a doctor.

She's listening to me. So smile at me, Aunt Margaret.

I love you. Sometimes she gets carried away

and tart Dr. and herself and taking medicine when throwing

them back here. And he should have just kind of

left alone a little bit. Come on, somebody say hey man.

After a while you'll hear her say I'm feeling better now I'm

feeling better. She come in here and she'll go

ahead and worship. I don't care.

I don't care. She come in when she comes to

church, she come to get something.

I've been missing so much. So I got to get I got to get

church and get something. You know what?

It's unfeigned for love. But if I could just get there,

I'll get something. We got it in our mind.

I got to go to church. You know you don't got to go,

honey. If you go, you'll get something.

I'm about ready to quit. I only got one more and I could

go on and on and on. I really, I really could.

Back over the last 3839 years, I could go.

Mcgee's mother. I've known her for a lot of

Sister Sharon. I used to stop and pick them up

for on the bus for Sunday school.

See Bishop's been all I don't care.

I in church, I've done it. I don't I don't care if it's run

the sound system. What I've done it all.

I've janitored, I've drove the Sunday school bus and I've

maintenance to Sunday school bus.

I've washed the Sunday school bus.

I know about it. I know about all areas the

church. I've been there done that wore

the T-shirt. Sister Sharon, Sister, we gave.

We watched her. Come in.

She had all these little kids, they were all little kids in and

she would be in and out, in and out.

But guess what? One day God pulled her in.

I believe it's the second church.

My right brother Freddie, I think it was the second church.

Something happened to Sister Sharon.

She grabbed a hold of the cold and and that's about the way she

act. She grabbed a hold of that

buddy. It was like she was bent over

because she couldn't handle it. And she'd start shouting.

Guess what? Sister Rhonda got a hold of

that. The family got a hold of that.

Come on Church, I know, I know, it ain't an aisle running

message, but it's a truth message.

It will take you back three generations to 4 generations and

it'll work you over. So this morning, the legacy of

the code goes back a long ways. Pastor was just squeezing the

car together. I don't know, maybe been going

up to both paths. I'm not sure talking, but I I

don't even remember can't remember the whole story.

But anyhow, you catch enough of you understand he was talking

about somebody that's this is the denomination as a minister

or something telling him how how many generations he could take

him back. You know, for his way.

He believes also I can do better than that.

I take you back to the day of Pentecost.

Really. He said yes, Sir.

He said he never said no more. He didn't have a lot to talk

about when he found out he could take him back to the day of

Pentecost. Come on, you can shut a lot of

mouths with the code this morning.

I know this is not maybe Bishop, but I, I know even though God

has been settled in here this morning that there's somebody in

here for the nation. You can come.

I'm I'm through. Am I through?

There's somebody I didn't cry and pray all week for nothing,

and there's somebody here that needs to grab a hold of that

unfeigned faith of Lois and Eunice and Timothy that you're

in line and you want to be next. You don't want to lose your way.

And you may I I don't care if you're the first generation

Pentecost. Be the best first you can be and

pass it to somebody else. There's some of you in this

church. It's going to be first

generation Pentecost because there was nobody before you that

did it. But today could be your day.

This altar is open. I want you to grab a hold of

that faith. I want you to be as privileged

as I was. I'm 4th generation.

I thought I was only third. I guess I am third.

My son's 4th on Daddy's side and I think he's 3rd on mommy, size

123. We're blessed.

We're blessed to have kids that know about this truth.

I, I raised them. I taught them the truth.

Ain't no way they can get by truth because it was taught in

our home on the Tuesday night Bible study I taught people.
