The Power of Words | Dr. Jerry Mason

Could you lift your hands to the Lord and just give Him some

worship and praise together right now?

Come on, let's praise Him. Let's thank Him for this, this

opportunity to feel His presence.

Let's thank Him for the chance and the opportunity to be in His

house today. We're not here by accident this

morning. We are not here by accident.

I felt something begin to break in the spirit in these last two

songs. A little bit more freedom, a

little bit more freedom in our worship this morning as we press

through the works of the flesh today.

Would you stand with me for the reading of the word of the Lord

for just a moment this morning? Again, we are so thankful to

have everyone here today. We greet you in Jesus name.

Give honor this morning to our Bishop, Sister McGee.

Love and appreciate them. Please pray for them, pray for

their strength. Amen.

I don't know a person in this house that can't say that they

couldn't use a little bit more strength.

But as our our elders continue to age, I know we don't like to

talk about it. And I know it gets a little

uncomfortable and I don't really intend to go there, but

sometimes it just requires more, more focus, more attention, more

prayer, more support, more encouragement.

Amen. Pray for our pastor and his wife

as they travel today. Pray that God's blessings would

be upon them. I don't know what time they are

traveling, if they're on the road now, If they're not, I have

no idea. But wherever that is, we pray

for God's travel mercies with them.

Looking forward tonight to the word of the Lord from Brother

Alex. Amen.

Last but certainly not least, I give honor to my precious wife

this morning. I, whom I love with more than

what I have the capability to put into words.

These be the words which Moses spake unto all Israel on this

side Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain, over against the

Red Sea, between Paran and Toefl, and Lavon and Hazard

wrote, and Deez a hof, Deuteronomy 5.

And one says, And Moses called all Israel, and said unto them,

Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your

ears this day, that you may learn them, and keep and do

them. Deuteronomy 27 And one says, And

Moses with the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying,

Keep all the commandments which I command you this day, one and

one it says, These be the words five.

And one refers to the statutes and judgments that were spoken.

27 and one to the commandments, which were spoken for a few

moments this morning with the help of God.

I want to minister to you on this thought.

The power of words, power of words.

Would you lay your Bibles down? Lift your hands to the Lord one

more time, and ask Him to bless us this morning by His word.

Father, we're so grateful this morning for the opportunity to

be in your house. God, we ask you to strengthen

those that are here, help those that are not able to be here.

God touch our shut insurance this morning that are watching

by way of the the Internet today.

God, we are so thankful that they are part of this

congregation. But God, we ask that you would

go through the airwaves this morning and strengthen them and

minister in their life. God touch today we give you

glory, honor and praise and Thanksgiving for Lord.

There's none like you God, you can do in a moment, Lord, what

we can do in a lifetime and we're asking you to do that here

today. Touch every life, heart and mind

in Jesus name. Help me to speak with wisdom and

clarity today and we'll thank you for it.

The Lord bless you. The power of words In an article

published by the Huffington Post, December 15th, 2014.

Doctor Heiders Ahead opened his article with a quote from Yehuda

Berg, an Israeli religious author, who said words are

singularly the most powerful force available to humanity.

We can choose to use this force constructively with words of

encouragement or destructively with words of despair.

Words have energy and power with the ability to help, the ability

to heal, or they can hinder, hurt, harm, humiliate and

humble. Doctors ahead continue to write.

Considering the powerful force of the words we utter, we must

discipline ourselves to speak in a way that conveys respect,

gentleness, and humility. One of the clearest signs of a

moral life is right speech. You can tell a whole lot about

the lifestyle a person lives by what happens when they open

their mouth. Perfecting our speech is one of

the keystones of maturity. Before speaking, it's important

that we take a few moments to contemplate what we're about to

say. That's an art that many of us do

not perfect yet, and it's something that some of us will

spend maybe, if not all of us, a lifetime endeavouring to try to

perfect. Because it requires listening,

which is something that we don't really do well at Active

listening would. There would not be as many books

and seminars about active listening as there are if it was

easy or if it was practiced the way that it should be.

What happens most often times? We listen just enough to

respond, and while the other person's talking, we're

formulating the words we're just about to speak.

Be kind to all and speak words that are beacons of inspiration,

enthusiasm, and encouragement. Kind and sweet words are always

music to the ears of the listeners.

Doctor Gary Chapman in his book Love as a Way of Life uses a

vivid metaphor for words as being either bullets or seeds.

If we use our words as bullets with the feeling of superiority

or condemnation, we are not going to be to be able to

restore relationships to love. If we use our words as seeds

with a feeling of supportiveness and goodwill, we can rebuild a

relationship in a positive and life affirming way.

Doctor Chapman continues to say When we need to talk candidly

about something difficult with another person, we must focus on

the conversation with keen attention and purpose.

During the conversation, we must listen patiently, speak

tactfully and tell the truth as we understand it.

Words have power. The words that we choose have

meaning. How many times have we said

something and then as soon as it come out said, oh, I'm sorry, I

didn't mean to say that I have because as soon as I said it, I

understood intently that what I just said had meaning, and that

meaning may have contradicted my intent.

The tone that we use when we speak invokes an understanding

of the moment, the volume of voice that we use when we speak

and speak. In and of itself, tone and tact

are the two most important instruments used in creating the

Symphony of words and language. When I was studying Hebrew at

the University of Jerusalem, one of my teachers, many of my

teachers would always say, and it was very unique because I

never heard an English teacher say this, but it was something

that they would always say was when you're speaking the words

in Hebrew, listen to the music they make.

The words we use in the speech we choose and communicating to

others have power to either make a difference or create

separation. Words marry us.

Words also divorce us. Words christen us.

Words bury us. To understand the spoken word,

we must understand the language that is spoken.

There are approximately 6500 languages spoken in our world

today. The development of the modern

English language occurred after the development of 130 other

major languages in the world. I know that we often think that

we're first and we're biggest and we're best, but we're not.

English wasn't first. Many people don't see it as

best. Believe it or not, there's still

plenty of people on the face of this planet that do not speak

English. I got in the back seat of

several taxi cabs just a few weeks ago over a two week span

with taxi cab drivers that could not utter a word of English.

I find that a bit fun. Some of you would find that

terrifying, but language is powerful.

Words are powerful no matter what language they're spoken in

because they have the ability to connect.

But here's the thing, it really doesn't matter what language you

speak. The reason for our ability to

articulate speech today finds its origin in the Garden of Eden

when God desired to have communion with his creation.

And if we Fast forward a few 100 years, we find the Psalmist

David in Psalm 19 and 14 state, Let the words of my mouth and

the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord,

my strength and my Redeemer. The writer to the Proverbs said

in 1821 that death and life are in the power of the tongue, and

they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Somebody say Amen. Let me pause right here just a

moment, if you'll allow me today and remind us that This is why

our worship matters so much. The this means that the words

that we speak, they are not just sounds in the air, but we are

planting seeds in our worship, seeds of life or seeds of death,

seeds of faith, or we plant seeds of fear, seeds that will

eventually produce fruit in our homes, in our families, and in

our futures. And this, ladies and gentlemen,

is exactly why our worship is so vitally important.

When we worship, we are not just singing melodies.

We are releasing words that invite God's life into places

where death has tried to settle on us.

Some of us are facing situations today that have been speaking

fear all week long. Everyone here today, those

listening by way of the the Internet this morning, all of us

come here into this House of God today with a different

background. We come with a different set of

circumstances. We come with different needs.

Bills have spoken. Stress has talked into our life.

Doctor's reports have spoken. The enemy has whispered lies

into the ears of God's children. Sickness has spoken.

Relationship issues talk very loudly in our daily walk with

gut with each other. But when you step into a worship

atmosphere, when you step into the House of God, you are

choosing to allow God to have the final word.

Worship shifts our mindset. Worship takes our mouths off the

script of our circumstances and puts them back on the script of

God's promises. When the enemy has been haunting

you all week and you finally arrive at the House of God to

worship, it is time for us to flip the script.

It's time for us to arrive at the House of God anticipating

what He is going to do, for the Bible tells us that he is well

able to do exceeding and abundantly above all that we

have or need of. Can somebody shout Amen?

So when you open your mouth and declare great is the Lord, you

are breaking agreement with the voice that said you're not going

to make it. When you sing you are my

strength, you are refusing to speak the words I can't take

this anymore. When you lift up that he's a

waymaker miracle worker, you are prophesying life into the very

places that the enemy hoped would stay dead.

Hear me today. Worship is spiritual warfare and

the words that we speak in worship have the ability to

speak life into your circumstances.

Not with swords. We don't fight with Spears.

That's a bit ancient. Let's go more modern.

We don't fight with guns, we don't fight with grenades, we

don't fight with machine guns or Uzis.

We don't fight with semi automatic weapons, we don't

fight with the bow and arrow, we don't fight with the muzzle

loader, save that for the deer stand.

We don't fight each other with that.

We don't fight the spiritual fight with that, but we fight it

with words. We live and we die by the power

of words. That's what the Bible says.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue.

There are some that even say that the words that you speak

over yourself have an ability to determine your actions.

So if all you do is put yourself down, then that's the way you're

going to behave. I can't do it, I'm not good

enough. You're going to demonstrate the

behaviour of those words, but with words, with praise, with

confession, we are able to flip the script on the enemy of our

soul today and we are able to speak life into the

circumstances we are facing. Somebody shout Amen, man.

Paul and Silas didn't get free because they complain.

Paul and Silas didn't get free because they complain, they got

free because they prayed words and because they sang words

well, I don't have a good voice. Didn't say anything about the

qualification of the sound because the Bible says let

everything that hath breath praise ye the Lord.

If you want things to shift in your life now this this is it's

it's quiet here this morning and that's OK that that that doesn't

bother me. I'm capable of working through

it. So this is not a slur on that

because I had this written in my notes before we ever got here

and knew what this morning would be like.

But if you want things to shift in your life, you've got to open

your mouth. Yes, Sir.

There's no better opportunity to do that than in worship.

Now's a fine time too, if you choose to do so, but God bless

you if you don't also. But whenever everybody is

collectively worshiping, you see, the beauty of worship is

that if everybody does it, you don't ever feel called out.

If everybody's lifting their voice at the same time.

I know volume varies by person to person, that's fine.

But when we all do it together, it's like, it's like candlelight

service, which is coming up here in about a month.

And I'm looking forward to that. But those of you that's been

here at our annual candlelight service know we dim the lights

and this, this, this room just illuminates from candles.

But if you start blowing a candle out, if you light up the

candles and every other person blows their out, what start

happening? It starts getting dim.

And then if you dim that a little more and every third

person starts taking theirs out, then it's going to get a little

dimmer. And before you know it, you've

got 1 little candle in this room.

You're not going to see it. Hey man, same thing in our

worship, same thing in our words.

The more that we collectively do it as the body of Christ, not

only are our words speaking life, but we are supporting one

another. We're helping each other through

our battles. If you want life to flow, you

have to speak life. If you want the atmosphere in

your life to change, you've got to release praise, because life

and death are in the power of the tongue.

So in worship, we choose life, we choose faith, we choose the

Word of God over the words of our circumstances.

So the next time you lift your hands, the next time you open

your mouth to sing, no matter what volume you choose to set it

at, remember you are shaping the spiritual climate of your home,

of your church, and of your own personal destiny.

Worship is not just a song. We do not need a song to

worship. Amen.

We do not need a musical instrument to worship.

As a musician, I'm inclined to enjoy it.

But I'm telling you today, as a, as a, as a child of God, we do

not need a drum. We do not need a piano.

We don't need an organ. We don't need a guitar to

worship God. You know what we need?

We need our voice. We need the power of the words

in our tongue. I feel my help now.

We need the power of the words that we speak before the face of

Almighty God so that I can come before Him and make a

declaration. Today I'm inviting Him to work

in my life and I do that through the power of my words.

Oh Hallelujah. Worships not just a song, it is

a weapon and God moves with His people.

Speak life. Words and the languages that we

speak provide opportunity for understanding, development of

understanding. You, you got to you got to get

this today. To develop understanding in your

life is not for the weak or the faint of heart.

The subject of understanding has requirements and it takes

effort. If understanding were easy, we

would not have so many misunderstandings and divisions

among people. If understanding were easy, it

would not take so much effort to listen and to think and to get

ourselves away from our own selfishness to hear what other

people have to say. Somewhere, I don't know where it

happened, but somewhere I'm afraid that we became afraid of

listening to other people for fear that somehow that if we're

listening to them, that that means we agree with them.

And that's a mistake. Listening doesn't mean I agree.

Listening means I respect you. And then I have to choose my

words with humility and respect in return.

The word understanding is recorded in the Bible. 160 * 136

of these times are in the Old Testament, with 24 in the New

Testament. Of the 136 occurrences in the

Old Testament, 53 of them alone are in the book of Proverbs.

Among these are Proverbs 3 and five that says, Trust in the

Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own

understanding. Now the statement lean not into

that own understanding doesn't mean that we don't need

understanding. The word lean here comes from

the Hebrew al Tashan, meaning don't prop yourself up.

That's the context of it. Don't don't.

In other words, don't prop yourself up on just what you

think, because we need to trust in the Lord.

Yes, he's the ancient of days, but he's also an ever present

God who cares about us in this modern generation.

For the Bible declares in Matthew 2820, Lo, I am with you

always, even into the end of the world.

Hebrews 13 five. For he has said, I will never

leave thee, nor forsake thee. Proverbs 211 Discretions shall

preserve thee understanding shall keep thee. 313 says happy

is the man that findeth wisdom and the man that getteth

understanding. Four and five get wisdom, get

understanding, forget it not neither decline from the words

of my mouth. Four and seven wisdom is the

principal thing. Therefore get wisdom.

And with all that getting get understanding.

There's there's there's a tone here.

Many times I have said I just don't understand God's will for

us is that we develop an understanding nine and six,

forsake the foolish and live and go in the way of understanding.

910 for the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

We stop there. We stop there a lot.

And that's a good statement by itself and it's a good stand

alone statement. But there's more recorded in

that verse. The fear of the Lord is the

beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy is

understanding. 10 and 13 In the lips of him that hath

understanding, wisdom is found, but a rod is for the back of

him. Come on now, that is void of

understanding. 11/12 He that is void of wisdom despiseth his

neighbor. Wow, I didn't write that.

The Bible says he that is void or he that does not have wisdom

despiseth his neighbor. Watch it now.

But a man of understanding holdeth his peace. 1315 Good

understanding giveth favor, but the way of transgressors is

hard. 1429 He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding,

But he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly. 1514 The heart

of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge.

But the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness. 6th I told you

this isn't for the faint of heart. 1622 Understanding is a

wellspring of life unto him that hath it, but the instruction of

fools is folly. 1727 He that hath knowledge spareth his

words, and a man of understanding is of an excellent

spirit. 18 Two, A fool hath no delight in understanding, that

is, that his heart may discover itself 2323 by the truth sell it

not also wisdom and instruction and understanding.

It's power in our words. There is power in our language,

there is power in having understanding.

There is a lot to be said. Some people like to say it all.

Some people don't like to say it all.

Quiet, Internalize. Here's what I believe to be a

statement of fact. Our personal preferences have to

be left at the door when we come into the presence of God,

because God looks at you. He's not looking at extrovert,

he's not looking at introvert, he's not looking at loud, he's

not looking at quiet. He's looking at child, he's

looking at son, he's looking at daughter.

And his desire is that we use words to invite Him into our

circumstances, to invite him into our life, to invite him

into places and areas of our life where that we need him.

There's power in words. There's power in what you say.

If you don't think so, just don't pay attention to it and go

around in life and not caring what you say to whoever you say

it. Seriously, find out what

happens. And when you're lonely and when

you don't have anybody to talk to because no one wants to be

your friend, stand in the mirror and ask yourself why.

Because of what the reflection needs to tell you is that

there's power in your words. Now.

This is very practical right now, but it's also very

spiritual. There's power in the words that

you speak, but before we ever open our mouth, there's also

power in our actions and how we walk in our daily life.

You have often heard me say, and I'll, I'll probably continue to

say it until I can't say anymore, that the best testimony

you will ever be for God has nothing to do with what you have

to say. Because your life speaks words,

your actions speak, your behavior speaks, your attitude

speaks. And for those who suffer some of

the same syndromes that I do, your facial expressions speak.

God help us, right, Brother Reese?

Sometimes the face talks before the lips can open.

Oh help us, Jesus, help us to be better.

I'm not standing here today because I'm perfect.

I'm standing here today because I'm trying.

I'm in this house today lifting up my words to Him because I'm

trying. And what we, what we cannot

afford to forget not only where he has brought us from, but we

cannot, we cannot afford to forget that when we come into

this house, every time we are here.

We are here because we're trying.

We're not here because we're perfect.

We're not here because we've got it all figured out.

We're not here because we're so good that this is all we've got

time to do. We're here because it's choice.

I'm in the House of God today because I want to be in the

House of God. I want to be in his presence and

I want to invite him into my life.

I want to invite him into my circumstances.

When I got back, when I got back home last a week ago, Friday

night, Friday afternoon, all I had on my mind was getting home.

I had been traveling for 28 hours.

I barely slept on the plane. That's a story in and of itself.

Don't ask me if you're curious, I'll tell it to you, but it's

not really that exciting. It was just a no good time to

sleep and I was tired, I was fatigued, I was wore out and the

last thing I wanted to do Bishop was to get to my car and find

out that I had a dead car battery.

So normally when I park at an airport, I'm normally pretty

good about remembering where I park.

It's just that's one of my last checkpoints as I'm walking in

with my luggage the day that I'm leaving it's I'll sometimes take

a picture of what letter row I'm in, but I'm normally very good

about remembering. But this trip was so long I kind

of forgot where I parked. I knew a general area.

So what do you think I'm doing? I've got my clicker out and I'm

going beep, beep, beep, beep. Except it's going there, no

beep. Ears are a little stuffed up

from 39,000 foot altitude sometimes.

So I'm thinking OK maybe it's just me.

So I hit the panic button because I'm about to panic and

I'm thinking dear Lord it's a much louder than my beep.

So I'm hitting panic. Now I'm really about to panic.

My panic isn't even working. Last thing I when I thought,

dear God, I know what's happened.

It's happened to me before. My battery's dead. 28 hours of

travel, Brother Fred, 12. 1/2 of those just on one flight alone.

I'm tired. I've got words that I want to

speak and I I am. I am not I I don't walk in holy

robes of glory every day. I promise you I don't.

But I stopped and I said, oh Lord, please help me.

I'm tired. So I called my wife to tell her

what was going on. So what do you want me to hit

the road? No, don't, don't hit the road

just yet. Let me see if I can flag

somebody down because I I tried to put myself in everybody

else's shoes as well. Last thing you want to do is get

everybody when they get back to the airport, everybody's got one

thing on their mind and that's that checkout gate to get out of

that parking lot and get on the road.

So I didn't want to be that guy, but I've got my hood up.

I'm I'm practicing part of that guy and I've got my hood up, got

my phone out and I'm standing there looking as desperate as I

know how to. And that probably wasn't that

hard. And a guy had drove by in a

pickup truck. He just kept driving.

And I thought, bless you, Sir, because I've probably done that

to other people as well. So if I've done it, I've got to

accept it. He drove back around.

Oh, thank you. Jesus.

I told my wife. I said, hey, he's coming back,

I'll call you later. He came back.

We hooked the jumper cables up, let it run for a while.

My car's got a button instead of a key, so hit the button, screen

was going berserk, act like it was about the flat line.

Nothing. 25 minutes later of running with that pick up, it

was big, big pick up. Nothing, not enough juice to

start. So I called my wife.

I said you're going to have to come and get me.

Now here's here's where the story gets a little bit more

maybe involved with this message.

This morning she came and got me, took me home.

We got up early Saturday morning last weekend, headed back to

Evansville. Now my bad.

I am not a mechanic. Those of you that know me well

know that I I try to do certain things for myself, just not my

typical skill set. What won't take Bishop or

Brother Fred or Brother Short 30 minutes to do?

Probably going to take me a couple hours to do usually

because I'm afraid I'm going to break more and have to fix more

because I don't know what I'm doing.

Thank God for YouTube. YouTube is my teacher when it

comes to doing things sometimes and very thankful for that.

And I mean that sincerely. But my, my battery sits about

80% up under the dash. It's not made for guys with big

hands. It's just, it's a big battery.

It's a heavy battery, angles bad, leverage is bad.

It's just a bad situation. And the last time I changed the

battery, it took me about four hours for a variety of reasons.

And it's not that I don't know how to change a battery, it was

just, I'm not going to go into all the details, but that's what

was on my mind at that point. I've been up 32 hours, getting

close to bedtime, going back on a Saturday.

The last thing I want to do on the next day is spend 4 hours in

an airport parking lot changing a battery when I'd like to be

home sitting on the couch resting from travel.

That was with my heart. So I said, Lord, you got to help

me. I invited him into my

circumstances. It wasn't.

I didn't stop and say, dear Heavenly Father, nothing against

you if that's how you approach it, but it was just simple,

common everyday man to man talk. Me talking to him like he's a

man standing right there with me and said, Lord, you got to help

me. You know this.

This is not my natural gifting. I don't want to be doing this,

but I accepted it is what it is. You've got a purpose for

everything. He might have protected me from

something. Maybe that battery needed to go

dead. I don't know.

I don't question that. I want to, but I chose not to.

God, I'm asking you for help. My wife is much better at this

than I am. She got it from her grandmother.

She'll pray for the toilet, the refrigerator, the blender.

I'm learning. I'm trying.

Bishop. We got down there.

We borrowed your car. We got down there.

I was missing a tool. I knew I needed a 10mm socket.

I forgot that I needed an 8mm socket.

I thought, dear Lord, I'm 45 minutes from home.

I'm not going back home to get an 8mm socket.

I'll go to the store and buy one.

And my wife said, no, no, no. She said, Daddy's car's here,

He's got tool boxes. Went open that trunk.

It looked like AutoZone in the bed of that trunk.

I pulled up the first case, put my glasses on, popped that puppy

up. I saw sockets.

I said oh Hallelujah. I pulled one up 10 mil.

No, I've got that 198 mil. There he is.

Pulled that 8mm socket out. Went back to the car, had the

battery out in less than 20. Went to the store, swapped it

out, come back, had the new battery back in in less than 20

and was saying thank you. Jesus, seriously.

I invited him into my prep, my circumstances.

He knew what the last one was. He knew my fatigue, He knew my

frustration. He knew my heart.

He allowed me to remember the final thing that I did the last

time that eventually worked at hour number four so that I could

avoid those four hours of work. That was not me on my own.

I'm telling you, the power of the words we speak between here

and heaven matter. And even in the things that

that, that, that's that circumstance was not it.

Not in the least spiritual. There's this practical life.

There wasn't anything spiritual about it other than me not

losing my spirituality. But by contrast, today, let's

compare and contrast what what happens in our life when things

don't go the way we want to. How we respond matters and when

we respond the right way, even when we don't understand it,

when we respond the right way, God Bishop I I don't think he's

just able. I think he wants to help us.

By the way, I, I, I would be remiss if I didn't tell this

part of the story. I'm putting that 8mm socket back

up in the, in the, in the little toolbox in the back of the

AutoZone trunk. And I told my wife, I, I stopped

and I looked at her. I said, you know what?

We're standing in the middle of the airport parking lot and I'm

telling her this. I said, I fancy myself a

prepared guy. It's something I take a.

A fair amount of pride on of, of planning and preparedness.

It's just in my, my nature and my, my skill set.

I said. But your dad takes it to the

next level. I said.

I will never again make fun of him for packing tool tool boxes

in his trunk. Never.

I always thought it was excess. Well, what's, what's the use of

it? Maybe I thought it was excess

because I wouldn't know what to do with half of them anyway, but

I always thought it was excess. It was unneeded.

It was whatever, that's him. That's great.

And after that, I was like, I'll never make fun of him again.

I love it. I appreciate it.

He's the best. And he can have an AutoZone

trunk all day long. All he wants to.

Hey, man, there's power in our words.

There's power in how we approach life.

There's power in our worship. Some of you don't believe that

you've got any power to offer God.

Some of you think that you are you are immaterial.

Some of you have allowed the lies of the enemy to convince

you that you don't matter and that you don't have anything to

offer God, so that you just stay quiet and you stay trapped in

your own bed of lies. I've come to debunk those lies

this morning. This isn't in my notes today,

but I feel it in the spirit this morning that that that you need

to understand. I want your take away to be here

this morning, that the words that you speak, that that the

words in the meditation of your heart being pleasing to God is

just as important to you as it is for me.

You've got just as much in your words to offer God as I do or as

Bishop does or anybody else does around here, because all he's

looking for is for you to have the ability to just tell him

whatever you need to tell him. It doesn't matter what language

you speak. It doesn't matter how fluent it

is. It doesn't matter how

grammatically correct it is. It does it.

None of that matters when it gets between you and God.

It's your willingness. It's not your ability.

Hear me today, I feel the Holy Ghost.

It is not your ability because many of you this morning could

could say I don't have the ability to do that.

I don't have the skill set, I don't have the history.

I've never practiced that. I don't know how.

And I've come to tell you that that's a very good thing because

it's not about your ability. It's only about your

availability and your willingness.

All you have to do is be willing to tell him I need you, I want

you, I love you. Come into my circumstances, come

into my life, come into my heart, come into my family, come

into my home. There are times we have been

invited the ministry of this church, especially Bishop and

pastor. We've been invited into homes to

pray and and I don't have a word to say against that except I

want to add to it. They have nothing to say more

than what you do when when we just when we clear the fog and

we get down to the reality of it.

When Bishop says in the name of Jesus, and I'm not taking

anything away from him at all, but I'm trying to lift you up.

We've convinced ourselves somewhere along the way that the

only certain people can pray for us and we've forgotten that we

can say something for ourselves. We've forgotten that the same

Holy Ghost is in you, that is in him.

We we've forgotten acts one and eight that says that you shall

receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you.

You want more power and you don't have the Holy Ghost.

You need to start worshipping God for the Holy Ghost.

You need his spirit in your life.

Invite him into your there's power in your words.

Invite him into your life. But when he says it, you've got

the same ability to speak to Yonder mountain and say, Be thou

removed. There's power in our words.

Stand with me this morning if you would please, as our praise

team is coming this morning to close us in song.

Acts 2 and 14 says. But Peter standing up with the

11, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judea,

and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto

you, and hearken unto my words, hearken unto my words.

Catch that phrasing, because there's power in what's about to

be said. He said, But for these are not

drunken, as you suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the

day. But this is that which was

spoken by the prophet Joel in the IT shall come to pass in the

last days, saith God. I will pour out of my spirit

upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall

prophecy. Your young men shall see

visions, your old men shall dream dreams.

And on my servants, and on my handmaidens will I pour out in

those days my spirit. On my servants and on my

handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my spirit, and

they shall prophecy. Acts 2 and 37 Now when they

heard this, they were pricked in their heart and said unto Peter,

and to the rest of the apostles, men and brethren, what shall we

do? Then Peter said unto them,

repent, there's power in these words, so, so much life changing

power in these words. Repent and be baptized to

everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission

of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Watch this now for those of you that don't believe yet, those of

you that are doubting for yourself, watch this for the

promises unto you. Everybody say me.

Some of you didn't say it, but that's fine.

The promises unto you and to your children, and to all that

are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save

yourselves, save yourselves, save yourselves.

Bishop can pray it, Pastor can pray it, but you need to save

yourself. You need to speak words that are

powerfully uttered between you and God.

You have to repent for yourself. You have to make the your own

conscious decision to be baptized.

And when it comes to receiving the infilling of His Spirit, you

have to allow God control of your words.

Hallelujah. There is so much power in the

words that we speak, whether it be English, whether it be some

other language, or whether it be a heavenly language known only

to God. Lift your hands right now and

magnify. Come on all over this house.

I'm challenging everybody to lift your hands.

Lift your hands, just begin to talk to him.

It can be quiet if he needs to be, but you just need to whisper

to him. I'm inviting you into my life

today. I need you in my circumstances.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be

pleasing to you, God. How do I know?

How do I know he has what I need?

Acts 4 and 12 says neither is there salvation in any other,

for there is none other name under heaven given among men

whereby we must be saved. I've come to tell you today,

I've come to speak the words of the word of God in kindness and

truth. Today you need him, we need God.

And as they prepare to sing this morning, this altar is open.

I want to invite as many as are willing, many as can to come.

Stand, kneel, makes no difference to me.

But let's flood this altar in a season of worship this morning.

This is an opportunity to for you to not isolate yourself, but

to get in communion when fellowship with those that are

around you, so that maybe you feel a little bit more

comfortable to raise your words to God.

Because the word spoken by the holy Word of God is that you

must be born again of the water and of the Spirit.

There's power in our words today.
