Jesus Bought A House - Part 3 | Pastor Paul McGee

Glory to God, good to see you all today.

You're doing yourself a great service to be in the House of

the Lord. Amen.

I was reading here the past few weeks in the book given

scientific research and people that attend religious services

have been known to have lower blood pressure, decrease heart

rate, decrease respiration, reduce levels of stress hormone

in your body. This is all scientifically

proven if you attend religious services that that's the case.

It don't just affect your body, but it also affects your mind

and your mental health, right? The people that attend religious

services, they say have rates of lower drug abuse, alcoholism,

divorce, suicide. They still get depressed and

have anxiety, but it's shorter lived.

All of that is scientifically founded.

So you're doing yourself a service today to be in the House

of the Lord. Hey, man, you're helping your

mental health. You're helping your physical

body health, Amen. All of those things are being

impacted today by being in the House of the Lord.

And so we're so glad to have each one of you, Amen, Here

today, Amen. Someone says I feel my blood

pressure just already going down.

Yeah, that's what it does. That's what it does.

It's good to be in the House of the Lord.

Amen. See each one of you.

And yes, I herald and I just reiterate my wife, come back

tonight, be with us for our candlelight.

Amen. We will have singing and and

music and the Christmas story will be read intermittently

throughout that. And folks, just as a heads up

this year we're not doing the real candles.

We're going to try not to burn the place down.

The assistant Fire Chief over here is thankful that we're no

longer going to do that and we're going just to artificial

candles with batteries and such. And since we got these cloth

seats, we've had to clean wax off the floor and we're just

didn't look forward to trying to clean it off a cloth seat.

So nonetheless. So just kind of a heads up

concerning that. Amen.

Today, man, it has been quite a week, folks.

It's been quite a week. Mom and dad's been in and out of

the hospital. I've looking over them for about

the past five weeks. They have been in the hospital

for almost 18 days, between her and him, 18 days.

And so our family has spent a lot of time in the hospital.

We've taken time, each of us spending the night in the

hospital, run into the hospital, took Dad to appointment on

Thursday, came back. By the time I got here, Mom was

being transferred. We went back to Evansville.

I was back to Evansville. I did 3 trips to Evansville in

less than 24 hours and then went to Washington and then I had

truck issues bringing Dad back home.

Fixed that yesterday. Blah blah blah blah blah.

But I was glad when they said and to me, let us go into the

House of the Lord, Amen. And so if I look tired, it's

probably, it's probably true, but I'm glad to be here, Amen.

I hope my smile betrays the bags under my eyes.

Amen. Hallelujah.

Lord this morning, Romans chapter 6.

things like that, but I'm just. Staying in the groove that I've

We we were in cahoots there on Friday night, Amen, with the

celebration for Amber. And so she was there and so glad

to see her and Jeanette. Good to see Tatum and, and, and

Yep, Reagan's still there. We're good to see you, Amen,

Today, Romans chapter 6. Want to do a little reading,

Romans 6 · chapter mention

starting with verse #16 and I'll try to be mindful of everybody's

time today. Amen.

Romans 6 and verse #16 they say. Usually when a preacher says

that, that just means he'll just keep track of what time it is.

It don't mean anything about being shorter.

OK, Know ye not that to whom you yield yourself servants to obey

His servants, ye are to whom you obey, whether a sin unto death,

or of obedience unto righteousness.

But God be thanked that ye were the servants.

Everybody say were were the servants of sin, that you have

obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered

you. Verse #18 Being then made free

from sin, you became the servants of righteousness.

I speak after the manner of men, because of the infirmity of your

flesh. For as you have yielded your

members servants to uncleanliness.

That's what we used to do. And to iniquity in unto iniquity

Even so now yield your members servants to righteousness and

the holiness. I think my wife was almost

preaching on this. A.

Little bit this morning already, For when you were the servants

of sin, you were free from righteousness.

Note Now what fruit had ye then in those things?

Wherever ye are now ashamed, right?

You participate in some things and bore some fruit of those

things of time past, but now you're kind of ashamed of those

things. For the end of those things is

death. Verse 22 But now being made free

from sin to become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto

holiness and the end of everlasting life.

So it's kind of the scripture here is kind of painting, it's

kind of jumping back and forth. It was that was them.

But this is now that's what was, but this is now and so on and so

forth. We had a fruit into the things

that we used to be involved in, but now we have a fruit, the

things that we're involved with now.

So it's a jumping back and forth.

And so for a little while today, this is my my subject bearing

what heaven planted. Heavens planted something,

something in US and there's fruit that should come as a

result of what heaven has planted.

Amen. Dennis, talk to the Lord here.

Just forbid. Father, I thank you today for

your spirit. Thankful Lord, for the many that

have come out to the House of the Lord today.

You have to bless their lives, Lord, enrich them.

God, I pray God, open our minds and understanding today.

God, we need you, Lord, your spirit, God upon us and with us.

God in this. Place in the name of Jesus

Christ that I pray. And the church say Amen, you may

be seated this morning in Jesus name, Amen.

Just kind of just back up real quickly, and I'm not doing a

review, but there were three things when we talked about a

holy God. The Bible's in Isaiah course

many times calls him the holy one.

As a matter of fact, sneaking in just a little bit of Christmas,

the Bible talks about the holy child was born, the holy child

was born. And so when we talk about that,

we looked at last week about there's differences between, of

course, God's holiness and our holiness because God has a

holiness that is absolute. There, there is no chink in the

armor of God's holiness, so to speak.

It is absolute. And so that for sure differs

from ours because we're in process, Amen.

We're not there. One of these days, hopefully at

Rapture Day when we are changed from immortal to immortality,

right? All these things, one of these

things take place. We'll be as he is.

And so there was a difference. And we also looked at though,

that there is a difference between the holiness that we

even get through our new birth experience of being born again,

of the water and the spirit. We receive a Holy Ghost, a Holy

Ghost. So in a moment there is a sense

of holiness that is planted in our life, but there's a

difference between that initial planting of that holiness and

then the process of that being lived out, that being lived out

in our life or going from. And we'll talk about this today,

going from seed form to fruit form, right?

Amen. And so then there's also then

there's differences between the externals and the internals of

holiness, as Paul talked about, that we should cleanse ourselves

from all the works of the of the flesh and such and that we

should become holy both in in spirit and in flesh.

But today talking about this and we're going to go through Romans

6. If if you have your Bibles, you,

I just leave them open on your lap there today.

But the Bible likens the receiving of that Holy Spirit or

that Holy Ghost to the planting of a seed, a planting of a seed.

And that spirit that we received, that Holy Spirit,

Brother Fred, that we receive in our heart in in our lives as a

believer, That spirit that we receive has a holiness in and of

itself. It is the Holy Spirit, it is the

Spirit of God, which of course is a holy God that as we live

our lives and we submit and we subject ourselves to that spirit

that we received, there's a increasing of that Spirit's

expression in our life as a believer.

As a matter of fact, the apostle Paul described it in our text as

a ownership change, and we talked about that a lot over the

past few weeks, Ownership change and a progression that took

place. Look at verse 16.

One more time with me, if you will, of Romans 6.

Know ye not that to whom ye yield yourself servants to obey,

His servants are ye to whom you obey.

So #1 whoever, whoever you obey, that becomes your master,

whether it whether it was of of the things or a master of a

world, or or a godly master, whoever you give yourself your

obedience to, that automatically then becomes your master.

And that's what he says, whether unto sin and to death.

If if you obey sin, all right, if you obey it, then it becomes

your master. If you obey the righteousness of

God, then that becomes your master.

So that's what the Scripture saying.

Verse 17 But God be thanked that ye were because the apostle Paul

here is is talking to the Church of Rome.

He's talking to some people that's experienced God in in the

Holy Ghost in a tremendous way. And he said you need to be

thankful because you were servants of sin.

You you did give yourself to the obedience of sin and it was your

master. He says, But you have now, now

you have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was

delivered. You.

This is interesting. We talk about the form of

doctrine. Well, what form of doctrine was

delivered to the church at Rome? Or what form of doctrine did the

apostle Paul even share with others With this form of

doctrine? You can read of it.

We don't have time to read the whole chapter of Romans chapter

6, but if you read the beginning of Romans chapter 6, they are

talking about the doctrine and the doctrine that's being talked

about in the beginning of Romans chapter 6.

Romans 6 · chapter mention

It's talking about how we are buried with Christ Jesus

whenever we are baptized in His name, the form of doctrine that

it's talking about in the beginning in Romans 6.

It's even talking about how we come to be raised like Christ

was raised from the dead in newness of life and how we

should walk in newness of life. And so this is the form of

doctrine that had been delivered unto them.

For that matter, to understand really what that form of

doctrine was in the mind of the apostle Paul, we read some other

places in Scripture in First Corinthians 15, and I love to go

often. But in First Corinthians 15, he

was writing to the church at Corinth about the doctrine and

what this form of doctrine was this thing that he delivered to

them, because that's what Roman says, a form of doctrine that

was delivered you. And he says in First Corinthians

15 and verse one. And we got a lot of Scripture

today, don't we, brother Mason, Amen.

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel.

You ever wonder what the gospel is?

Here it is which I preached unto you, which also ye have

received. And that word receives means you

joined it to yourself all right, wherein you stand, by which also

ye are saved, if you keep in memory what I preached unto you,

unless you have believed in vain.

Here's the gospel, here's what was declared, here's what was

delivered. Verse 3.

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also

received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the

Scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he rose again

the third day, according to the Scriptures.

The gospel of the death, the burial, the resurrection of the

Lord Jesus Christ, and our obedience to the gospel is our

repentance, our baptism in Jesus name, and our receiving the Holy

Ghost or the Holy Spirit, Amen. That is evidenced, Amen.

According to Acts, by speaking in other tongues, Amen.

That was the form of the doctrine.

So He told them, ye were servants of sin, but you obeyed

that form of doctrine. You obeyed being, repenting and

being baptized and receiving the Spirit you, you obeyed all that

from your heart what was delivered unto you.

Look again Romans 6 verse 18. Get through this and we might

Romans 6:18

get some traction. We'll see how far we get.

He said being then made free from sin.

What after you obeyed the form of doctrine?

Amen. Aren't you glad today when you

was baptized in Jesus name? Scripture says that was for the

remission, our repentance and baptism, for the remission or

the removal of sin, he said. Then being made free, because he

obeyed that form of doctrine, free from sin, he became the

servants of righteousness. I love verse 19.

It then goes through the fact that we had yielded our members

unto uncleanness. Amen.

But the last phrase there says, Even so now what?

Now because I've obeyed the form of doctrine, right, I've went

through this mode of, of repentance and I've obeyed that.

Even so now I yield my members. Now that I've been born again, I

yield my members servants to righteousness unto holiness and

say, well, why? 1 to holiness I I I'm

surrendering to the Holy Holy Spirit that I've received all

right in my life. I was a servant of sin.

Now I'm free from all that. Verse 21 This is important.

I think this is an important question the apostle Paul asked

these people that have had this experience.

Now he says what everybody say, Fruit had ye in those things

when you were a servant of sin. When, when When you obeyed

uncleanliness, What type of fruit did you have then?

Think with me for a moment. When you lived a life of sin,

what type of fruit did you have? Some of us today, we had some up

here. Some of it was it was our

addictions that was our fruit of our our sin, Amen.

Some of us, you know, we walked around with rotten attitudes all

the time, is the fruit of our sin, Amen.

He says for the end of those things is death, right?

Romans tells us that the wages of sin is death.

He says in verse 22, But now here we are.

Why? But now because you obeyed that

form of doctrine that was delivered to you.

But now a man, you're made free from sin through your new birth,

and you become servants of God. How did I become a servant of

God? Because now I obey what he

desires. Now I obey whatever the Spirit

inside of me is leading and guiding.

Note, now you've obeyed him, ye have your fruit.

Now look, the fruits changed. The fruits, not what the fruit

used to be. The fruits change the fruit unto

holiness in the end, everlasting life, Amen.

So the fruit of a sinful life, as we look through the

Scriptures, fruit of a sinful life, who used to be that?

The worldly lifestyle that we used to have, it may be the

fruit of destruction, Amen. All the fruit of a sinful life,

but a fruit of a life that submitted to God.

He man not listen, a fruit of a life that submitted to God.

And I want to make this distinction because sometimes we

fall in this when we talk about God's holiness and our holiness,

I'm not talking about a submission to standards.

I'm not talking about a submission to rules.

I'm talking about our ultimate submission is unto God.

Our ultimate submission isn't to God.

There's a lot of things that happened due to our submission

to God that are byproducts of our submission to God.

Amen of our submission to God. And so he says as as as our life

as submission to God. He said is then this fruit unto

holiness and we'll look at it. We looked at a little bit last

week, not just what has been positional because I received

the Spirit, but what has been applied.

Amen. It's going to come into maturity

in our life, both inwardly and outwardly and ultimately unto

everlasting life. Now let me ask you a question.

Does fruit just happen or does fruit mature and grow into

fruit? Have you ever planted a seed in

the ground? And what came out of the ground?

Look at that pineapple just just popped.

Right out of the ground. No, no, no, no, no.

There is a growth process to get to fruit.

A seed is planted, a plant grows.

I'm not trying to you know, I'm not trying to hear today speak

to us like on elementary level here, but a plant begins to grow

in the little. Green shoots come forth and

eventually at some stage. The maturity happens of the

fruit begin to grow and come into full maturity where it

could be plucked from a tree. When we talk about the fruit of

holiness, it's the result of a seed that's been planted in our

life. It takes time for that to mature

and it takes time for that to grow, but whenever the Spirit of

God dwells inside of you and you receive the Spirit of God and we

submit to that, right, we're open to what it wants to do in

our life. Amen.

Through humble obedience, there's going to be a process of

maturity that starts to take place in our life and there's

going to come a blossom that's going to be just the the infant

start of a fruit that's going to be growing in our life.

I left you hanging last week concerning Proverbs 2.

I got the scripture for you today because I don't like to

leave people hanging. Proverbs 212 and 13, the Bible

says, wherefore my beloved as he have always obeyed, not as in my

presence only, but now much more my absence.

Again, Paul's talking to the Church of Philippi.

He says work out your own salvation with fear and

trembling. Man, that feels like a heavy

task. If you just read one verse, you

read just one verse. It's like, I didn't think that

was totally up to me anyway, but look what the Bible says in

verse. 13. For it is God which worketh in

you. How's that happen?

Because when you receive the Holy Ghost God, it's Christ in

you, the hope of glory. It's God's Spirit inside of you.

For it is God which worketh in you both.

Look at the scripture here, Philippians 213 both to will and

to do of His everybody say his his good pleasure.

Wait a minute, when I receive the Spirit, the Spirit is trying

to help me to do God's will and his good pleasure.

It didn't say the Spirit's trying to help me to do my will

and my good pleasure because let's just get serious.

Everything that's pleasurable to my flesh.

Paul McGee. Isn't acceptable as pleasurable

in the sight of God. Amen.

That's the reason why we got to be led by the Spirit.

We got to walk and live by the Spirit.

The scripture says so. Holiness begins as a seed begins

a seed that eventually will produce fruit in our life.

It don't happen overnight. Not like, you know, boom in the

ground out there It is. Nope, Nope, Nope, Nope.

It doesn't happen overnight, but neither should it be a

indefinite process that never comes to maturity.

Everybody OK, Paul described this process.

Look at this. This is different.

Places in Galatians and Brother Mason will be helping us today,

but whenever Paul wrote to the church at Galatia in Galatians

and he talked about Jesus Christ, he talked about Jesus

Christ being the seed of Abraham.

That's something that he refers back to.

And, and I believe he even intended a dual meaning here in

this term, this term seed, because in the earlier verses he

identified the promise that was made to this seed.

You can look at it, Galatians 3 and and verse 14, the Bible says

that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles.

That's all of us through Jesus Christ, that we might receive

the promise of the Spirit through faith.

And so the promise that was made to the seed was the gift of the

Holy Ghost or the gift of the Holy Spirit.

And Paul says that was the blessing of Abraham coming down

through time to where we were. If you look at Galatians 4 and

six, brother Mason has it. We see clearly where Paul wrote

God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts.

It's the planting of the seed. It's the planting of the seed of

Jesus Christ. It's the planting of the seed of

the Spirit of Christ in the hearts of man.

Whenever we received the seed, we didn't form it, receive it in

the form of a man. Because remember, whenever Jesus

Christ went away, he told them, I'm, I'm, I'm going to go away,

but I'm going to send, I'm going to send a comforter, right?

I'm going to go away, but my spirit's going to come.

And that spirit was going to be the seed that you and I could

receive that Holy Spirit, that Holy God inside of us.

And so whenever this promise, the promise of the Holy Ghost,

the promise of the Holy Spirit first came to the Gentiles that

we read of in Scripture, we read it coming to Cornelius's house

in Acts chapter #10 And now not is it just Gentiles, but it's

Jews and Samaritans and every individual.

And this is what Paul Paul wrote that in Galatians 419 you

helping me, Brother Mason? Paul wrote this.

He said my little children are not adults.

They were adults, but he's calling them my little children

of whom I travail in birth again, until Christ be formed in

you. Now listen, these were church

people at Galatia that he was talking to.

They had the Spirit of God, you hear me?

They had the Spirit of God. They had the promised seed.

They had the promised seed. It had been planted in their

hearts. But Paul's addressing them, my

little children, because they were children in their walk with

God. The seed had been planted, but

there's not been enough process take place yet that there was

fruit from the seed. That's the reason why Paul says,

I'm going to continue to labor, Amen, until Christ be formed in

you. Hey, man, Christ be formed in

you, Amen. The the formation of Christ in

US, Amen, has displayed them ultimately in the full

expression of holiness, God's holiness in and of our lives.

But the fruit comes from a seed and it takes a process for it to

grow. Amen.

Because again, we talked about this a little bit and weeks gone

by, holiness only in seed form in the heart is something that

only God can see. And it might be and I'm I'm kind

today, but it might. Be the excuse then why some

people make well, God sees my heart.

Well, that's right, He does see your heart, but he's also

concerned beyond that. We said the verse last week, so

I'll give you the the passage now, right?

Matthew 516. Jesus said about let your light

shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify

your Father, which is in heaven. Here's the interesting thing

about that elsewhere in Scripture, like in John, Jesus

said I am the light of the world.

Jesus said that I am the light of the world.

But then we also see places where He told His disciples, Ye,

ye are the light of the world. Which is it, Lord?

Are you the light of the world, or are your disciples the light

of the world? Here's The thing is, disciples,

we have no light of our own. Any light that we have comes

from the seed that we've received.

He says, I am the light of the world.

Ye become the light of the world because of receiving my spirit.

And so then as we allow that light to shine, I have no light

of my own. It's not Paul Mcgees light

because I don't have light. My life was filled with darkness

before I came to the Lord. All of our lives were filled

with darkness before we came to Lord.

But whenever I was born again in the water, in the spirit honey,

a little light started shining. There's a little why?

Because the light of the world stepped into my life.

The light that the light that shines in the darkness.

The light that knows no difference between light and

darkness because everywhere he goes, he dispels darkness.

He stepped into my life. All of the dark things that I

used to do, the world, the things that I used to do,

they're starting to be a change because the light of the world

has stepped into my life. And so if you see any light from

me, it's because of the light that I have received this hey

man, so he's shining in my lives and I want that light to be

unhindered. Remember, I really expensive

liquid that we put in a bottle last week, not cleaning the

inside and the outside of the bottle.

I want that to be unhindered. I want it to unobstructed.

View. But it's only it's only when the

seed of holiness comes forth as fruit plied holiness that what

God can only see now becomes what anyone can see.

And he's made known then to the. World through your life.

Someone say Amen. Now here's the thing.

This is this doesn't come without sacrifice, does it?

As a matter of fact, in the Old Testament times, any time that

someone gave made offering or sacrifice to God, it required

something animal back then required something and sacrifice

for them was was giving up something of.

Temporal. Value in exchange for something

of eternal value. So whenever it comes to holy

living, this is the harder one of the Reese.

I give up some of my personal rights.

Oh, someone say Amen, personal rights to live as the spirit

that I receive desires to live. What what is that that that's

surrendering. That's surrendering to God.

That's surrendering to to live in a way that that is pleasing

and God and have hope of eternal life.

Amen. And so I give him the sacrifice

of my willing heart. Here I am Lord, I'm giving the

sacrifice of my willing heart. Matter of fact, if you read in

the Old Testament, whenever God told Moses, hey, I want to build

a Tabernacle and let the people bring the goods and the

materials for this the Bible tells us in Exodus 25.

He said to Moses, he said, speak unto the children of Israel,

that they bring me an offering of every man that giveth it.

Everybody say willingly with his heart, he shall take my

offering. He said willingly, so they're

going to bring the materials, but let them bring it and only

give it if they're doing it with a willing heart.

The apostle Paul in the New Testament says something similar

in First Second Corinthians 97. He said every man as he purposes

in his heart, so let him give right, not grudgingly or of

necessity for God loveth A cheerful giver and so he's

relaying from Old Testament even New Testament.

It doesn't matter if we're we're given money or or if we're we're

given time or if we're given of our labor or the way of my life,

whatever it is that I'm offering unto God must be given with a

willing heart. Everybody listen to me very

clearly here, because God is just as concerned about.

Why we do what we do as He is about what we do.

Sometimes we do things just because it's just like that's

just what you do. But we have no real motive.

Listen to me Proverbs 16 and two and I asked for the NET.

They gave you the KJV, but I'm reading from the NET, but that's

fine. That's up there all a person's

way seem right in his own opinion, but the Lord evaluates

the motives the new century. Version says it like this you

may believe you are doing right, but the Lord will judge your

reasons. Everybody doing OK Sometimes in

church life people get caught up in.

Quote on quote holiness standards.

Mm hmm. So I doing OK, but the

application of our Holiness isn't just external, it's

outward and inward application that marks them as a holy

people. Everybody doing OK.

Luke 11 verse 39, Jesus was speaking to some Pharisees,

Luke 11:39

there's going to be sitting down to eat and there was some things

said to him, and so he said some things back to them.

In verse 39, the Lord said unto him, Now do you Pharisees make

clean the outside of the cup and platter, but your inward part is

full of ravening and wickedness. He says ye fools did not heed

that made that which is without make that which is within also.

You know what the Lord is saying then he said you made it look

all great on the outside. That plat that looks wow, that

cup looks great. But if we were to peer inside

the cup, He said you got the outside looking all great, but

that's really just a facade to appear.

It's all great, but if we were to peer inside the cup,

everybody doing OK Totally. It's not just about what's all

the exterior. You come to church and you just

I'm going to live holy forgotten.

I'm just going to I'm going to change all this exterior stuff.

But inside you, you still got bitterness, unforgiveness,

rotten spirit on every day except when you're in church.

It's the whole package. So whenever the Israelites

offered their like animal sacrifices to God that there

were both external and internal elements for that God was

looking at, yes, they did the the sacrifice.

All mankind could see this external expression of sacrifice

like, oh wow, look at that person's faith bringing this

animal that they've reared, you know, and fed and invested in

and they're sacrificing that to God.

Wow, they're really doing something that's a visible act

that everybody could see sister Sheila, but internally what God

could see, He had to also see that that person wasn't just

doing that, but they were also yielding themselves.

They were yielding their heart. They had it.

They had a heart of surrender and devotion that was taking

place. But see, that's what God only

knows. AM I doing OK?

Sometimes we mistakenly. Tried to live in such a way to

fool everybody, yet we never fool God because he knows the in

and he knows the out of our life.

Is everybody doing OK and and man, I'm I'm probably just happy

Christmas sermon. OK, What are you saying then?

Can I say we need to be careful today?

We need to be careful because some of you got it all together

on the outside and you want to be quick to judge someone else

who don't when they might have it all together on the inside

and you don't. Rather, I'm thinking about not

coming back to the candlelight. Listen, I'll just go say a few

words at that candlelight, OK? Jesus Whenever they were sitting

there and there was giving going on, you remember the example of

those that were were seem exceedingly rich as it would

seem came by and they gave. And then there was the widow

that came by and she gave. And Jesus was sitting there.

He was watching this giving procession that was taking place

and he explained, He said, He said the rich had put in of

their abundance. They put in of their abundance,

but of the widow, He said, but she of.

Her want or of her poverty. In other words, they went, they,

they gave up their abundance. You know, it was like mechanical

duty giving. But she, she gave of her heart.

She gave of everything that she had.

And so in the same way. These, these genuine expressions

of holiness in our life, yes, they're the outward and yes, the

inward elements, but Paul had in mind whenever he called it to

the Corinthians that they should be perfect in holiness by

cleansing themselves from all filthiness of flesh and spirit.

I say this without a supporting structure of inward holiness.

Everybody here OK with me. Without a inward structure of

of, of, of holiness, outward holiness is just a little bit

more than a superficial form. Because the truth is this

long-suffering, kindness, compassion are just as much as

applications of holiness as moral purity and modesty.

So. Is it possible that Brother

McGee people have all the externals of holiness without

the internals? Again, as we've seen, he said,

the Pharisee, we need to clean the outside, we need to clean

the inside of the cup. And again, holiness, please

understand this in our individual lives, it's not unto

a man and it's not into the label of the church that's on

the church house door. Holiness throughout the

Scripture, you know what it commonly says, holiness to the

Lord, holiness unto the Lord, It's always unto the Lord.

So if you're doing it for a man, if you're doing it for

institution, if you're just doing it for a church, you're

doing it for the wrong reason. Your priority, your goal needs

to be doing it unto the Lord. Amen.

So there's areas of Paul Mcgee's interior life that needs cleanse

and that needs developed. Jessica, there's things inside

of me. I have thoughts right that never

escape my brain that need touched motives.

And desires inside of me that none of you know about unless I

act on them. None of you know about

attitudes. Maybe sometimes show up a little

bit on my face, maybe if they don't ever show up totally

right. Amen.

But attitudes, that's in me that I need to be made holy.

Beliefs that need to be made holy.

But there are areas of Paul Mcgee's external life that needs

help, too. The way I talk, the tone I talk,

words I even say, how I talk about others, my conduct, my

appearance. But since the inside serves as a

foundation for the outside, then I need to place a real strong

emphasis on what's happened inside of me.

Because what's happening inside of me is absolutely going to

affect everything outside of me. And that's where some people

have got themselves in trouble and they felt like a failure

because they try to do all the outside, leaving the inside

unattended to, and they find themselves being backtracking.

The reason why is because the foundation starts here.

It starts where the seed was planted.

Hey man is. Everybody doing OK?

You wouldn't tell me if you weren't.

Holiness in Scripture is both separation and dedication.

We separate from what? And we're dedicated to what.

Well, in practical terms, we are separated from sin.

Our scripture even talks about we were.

Servants of it, but not no more. We are separated from sin.

But now we're asked to be dedicated unto the Lord.

I'm separated from the evil now I'm separated from the

worldliness. I'm separated from anything that

is not like God. I'm separated from that.

But now I'm dedicated to God. I'm dedicated to His purpose.

And as I continue on this route of being dedicated to Him and

separated from those things, there's a whole new way of life

that starts inside of me. I'm not walking them to the, of

course of this world. Isaiah even talks about that.

There is a highway of holiness. There is a different way.

Let's just run through some things.

I know I got to get some traction here.

Amen. You said you'd be mindful.

I am. It's 11:15, Amen.

Look at some of these verses. This idea of separation from sin

can be found here. This idea of separation from

wilderness can be found in some of these verses.

I'm just going to run through them.

Brother Mason, First Corinthians 15 and verse 34 awake to

righteousness and sin, not First Thessalonians 522 Abstain from

all appearance of evil. Another version would say

abstain from all or every form of evil.

First John 215 Love not the world, neither the things that

are in the world. Right, an idea of separation

from sin and worldness. Look at the idea of dedication

to God. Just a couple verses.

There's more than these. These are just a sampling.

Romans 12 and one. I beseech you therefore,

brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a

living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your

reasonable service. Mark 12 and verse #30 Love the

Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, with all thy

mind, with all thy strength. Please note the word all that's

important in this verse. It's not that you're loving Him

with part of your mind or part of your strength or certain

areas, if you will, of your soul that you want to know all I want

to be. He showed out.

Listen, when Christ went to Calvary, He didn't just have an

arm nailed to the tree. When he went there wasn't just

his feet that were nailed there. It wasn't just no this the body

and all the internal organs were no, no, no, all of him was

placed on the tree for all of us, and He wants all of us then

to reciprocate. Amen.

Now look, this is a single statement, but it carries both

the separation and the dedication that happens in

holiness. Romans 611 The separation of

dedication. Likewise ye also yourselves

reckon, ye also yourselves to be dead in deed, and to sin

separation. But alive unto God through Jesus

Christ our Lord. That's dedication.

You have both the. Separation and the dedication.

There's a renewing of the mind that takes place in all of that.

I'll be mindful. Stand with me.

So I want to, I want to bear what heaven has planted inside

of me. Answer me this question.

If you planted a seed in the pot and time went by, time went by

and time went by and you never saw a green shoot come up from

that soil where you planted it, would you be concerned about the

sea? Because you're like, I'm giving

this the proper water. I'm giving this the proper

sunshine. Something should be growing

because even at times seeds only go through moments of, of

dormancy for so long. You know you got to rattle the

chain. Get the seed.

If his spirit has been planted inside of you, somewhere along

the way, something should start growing.

If you're nurturing the seed, if you're mindful of the seed,

something should start growing. And I say all this to say this

holiness is not a moment. Just boom.

Holiness is a movement begins as a seed by the Spirit, but again,

it was never meant to stay hidden in the soil of our

hearts. It's God's design that what He

plants in US would grow and mature and eventually bear

visible fruit. Roman 6.

Again, it reminds us that holiness is the natural outcome

of ownership. No longer servants of sin,

servants of righteousness. Christ dwells in me by his

Spirit and as I yield myself fully to Him, holiness is

enforced. It's just formed we and by our

heads today. My admonition to us, all right,

because there's so many different people here at all

different stages of walks with God, and that's tremendous, all

the different stages. Maybe some just had the seed

planted. Others are years.

Along the way, having had the seed planted years ago, all at

different places in our relationships with God.

But what I admonish you today is this, Don't just settle for the

seed alone. Don't settle for the seed alone.

Allow God, as Philippians says, allow God to help and come

alongside you and work out of your life what he's already

worked into your life. And that fruit of holiness, you

know what it does? Scripture tells us this.

It brings glory to your. God.

Both now and for everlasting life.

And so I end again with that one little verse there that we read

in the beginning. Yield your members servants to

righteousness, unto holiness. It's not a negative word.

It's not a dirty word. If anything else, it is a word

that indicates maturity and growth.

Say, Brother McGee, I'm not there yet this morning.

That's OK. That's all right.

But you know God's working in you.

You know what you felt whenever you first received His Spirit in

you and you know in that moment how you felt like, you know

what, I'm not going to, I'm not going to go back and I'm not

going to, I'm not going to walk some of these same paths that

I've walked prior to this moment.

What is what is that? What's taking place?

That's His spirit, that holy seed already beginning to guide

you, already beginning to instruct you.

And here's what we need is to live our life always open to

that same instruction and that same voice, he man that led us

when we first come to know him, right?

Because there's a grand difference, folks, listen,

there's a grand difference between condemnation and

conviction. The Bible says that that we are

not condemned. Those who are in Christ Jesus,

we're not condemned. Condemnation.

When you condemnation comes, it makes you want to step.

Away from God. Flee away from God.

But whenever conviction comes, you feel that drawing of his

spirit toward him and today what what what we are our goat this

morning and I hope you haven't took me.

Is this because this is this is truly not been my spirit.

I'm not here to condemn everybody because anyone because

we're all at different walks of life, but I'm praying for a

spirit of conviction, that Holy Ghost that we have received,

that it'll be a drawing upon our hearts, a drawing upon our souls

just to be better than what we were yesterday.

Not because I have the ability, but because I have received a

spirit that has enabled me and I'm going to allow it to have

free course. I'm going to be obedient to

righteousness. I'm going to be its servant and

it's going to be my master. And God has done so much for me.

I can never repay him, but I want to reciprocate some love

and I want to reciprocate, if you will, some things back up on

him. There's things I do today.

You all heard me say this perhaps once or twice.

There's some things I do today in my marital relationship.

I do because of my wife. There's some places I go because

of my wife. She loves to go, you know, to

the goodwill and spend hours there.

I'll go for the books, but. She's going to.

She can turn the lights out in any city.

That's not my Forte, but I'm doing it, James, because of her.

Katie, I am doing it because of her.

I'll find if eventually, if I need to, the old man's bench.

I take a book often times and I'll read it or do something.

I do that because of her, because I'm in love with her.

It's not my Forte, it's hers, but I'm in love with her.

I don't even grumble about it. I don't think most times because

I'm in love with her. Whenever I'm in love with God,

I'm going to do things that seems to go against my rights.

But you know what? I'm so in love with him.

Whenever I sit, oh God, I feel the Holy Ghost whenever I'm

sitting there and time's ticking and they're about cashier says,

Ladies and gentlemen, there's 5 minutes until the stores going

to close. Please will you bring all of

your goods in the line jail 52 feet long.

But I see the joy that's on her face from what she's been

allowed to do. Does my heart well and whenever.

I see heaven smiling. It might not be all that and a

bag of fries to me. But it is to him.

You know what I found out the longer I've been married?

I start even to like some of the things that are just hers.

Because I've done. Them so much with her.

Isn't it amazing how someone else's likes can kind of blend

over and become yours? I could go on and on.

We don't need to do that. I feel his spirit here though

right now if we can just if you want to raise your hands, bow

your head. The Holy Spirit, the Holy Ghost

is here right now and he is testifying to what has been

spoken here. Sir, ma'am, I don't know what

your past experience has been. There's some of you that have

had other church experiences. I don't know what your past

church experience has been. What I'm telling you today is

the pastor of this church that I'm standing here with open arms

and, and I, I, I pray that I, I try to keep the most gracious

spirit, Amen ever. What I'm saying today.

This is a safe place for you to grow.

This is a safe place for you to grow.

And if you not received the Holy Ghost today, ultimately that's

that's God's will for your life. There's there's not a another

step or anything else that you need to concentrate on or or try

to pour yourself. Into and until that happens, if

you not received the Holy Ghost today, Amen, you can repent to

him. We have we have water to baptize

you in Jesus name. That is first and foremost, that

needs to be. That needs to be what you're

focused upon. But if you have received the

gift of Spirit, then you need to continue to focus on that Spirit

and allow Christ to be formed in you and just grow with him day

by day. There'll be, sometimes you'll

take 5 steps forward and you'll take 7 steps back, right?

But there'll be other days you'll take 10 steps forward and

only two back. You've gained some ground.

Amen. Can we just raise our hands

right now, today? God, I give you my all.

Can that be a prayer that we would pray?

Lord, all of me, not part of me, not a portion, but God, all of

me. Lord, I surrender myself unto

you. I surrender myself unto you.

Listen, all of us having a mission that we need him.

All of us have the admission that we need him.

There's not a single one of us. I don't care if you've been in

the church 3540 years or you've been in the church 3 weeks, we

all are in need of him. We're in need of him today.

Hallelujah. Can we talk to him?

God? There's some areas in my life,

God, that still needs Lord got some help.

This them some external, Lord, stewardship of the external of

my life, God that still needs some help.

Help me. Lord, lead me.

I want to be guided. I want to be instructed.

Oh Lord, let me not turn to death here.

Let me not turn to death here, Oh God, to live the way that you

would want me to live, God, oh God to do that which is his good

pleasure. Hallelujah.
