  1. Amen, Amen. Good to see you this morning.

  2. You know, there's some songs that sound similar and I was

  3. going to go up here and sing the total wrong song and maybe I did

  4. anyway. But anyway, there was one I

  5. looked at my wife, I said that's not she says that's not what

  6. that is. And so thank God for spouses.

  7. Amen. I probably come up here start

  8. with Amazing Grace or something, you know, and it been totally

  9. wrong. So Amen.

  10. So good to see each of you here in the new calendar year.

  11. Amen. In the House of the Lord and to

  12. all of our guests, welcome. We greet you today, Amen, in

  13. Jesus name. It's in order this morning, of

  14. course, to give thanks to Doctor Mason for last weekend, taking

  15. care of Sunday morning and doing a great job of deciding to live.

  16. Amen. And gave everybody a few points

  17. to help in that choice. And I can't avoid saying this

  18. just because it wouldn't be me unless I did.

  19. He just did. He never just preach up a storm

  20. last Sunday night. Some people gathered together

  21. and you all never even was able to have service because of the

  22. the weather that was taking place.

  23. But we are thankful for the leadership of the church kept

  24. everybody safe sheltering here in place and those of you that

  25. sheltered at home and make some sound decisions for y'all.

  26. And so we're thankful for that. Amen.

  27. Today as well, I'm going to be turning to the book of First

  28. Peter of First Peter. And so Sister McGee already

  29. mentioned, man, you have a new year.

  30. We're only four days in. And so if you've if you've never

  31. had a Bible reading program, that it's a good time to start

  32. it. If you've never had daily prayer

  33. with God, it's a good time to start it.

  34. If you've never taken a meal or so or maybe a day out of the

  35. week and set it aside and not eat, but just turn your

  36. attention toward the Lord and feel that time of eating with

  37. eating of his word, it's a good time to start.

  38. The reason why I say that, and this is not just like church

  39. tradition so much so that whenever we read the Sermon on

  40. the Mount in Matthew 5 and 6 and Jesus is speaking to the

  41. multitudes, he says 3 particular phrases.

  42. That's that's so interesting. He says when you pray doesn't

  43. say if it was an expectation that they did when you pray, He

  44. said when you fast again, wasn't if it was an expectation that

  45. that's something to happen. And he also said this and then

  46. it is what it is. He said when you do alms and

  47. you're not talking about arms, he's saying alms like the giving

  48. the money, monetary things. Again, these were all

  49. expectations. He was just saying when you do

  50. it, here are some guidelines. Here's some things to help you

  51. in doing so. And so again, it's not so much

  52. so as far as church or religious tradition, it is, it is

  53. mandates, if you will from the Lord.

  54. And listen, the reason why? Because He knows that's going to

  55. help you. Amen.

  56. Having daily conversation with the Lord's going to help you

  57. reading His Word. Listen, if you never done it

  58. before, I'm not asking you to read the Bible in a year.

  59. Some people do That's great. I'm just asking you to read the

  60. Bible a little each day. Hey man, read the Bible just a

  61. little bit each day. Here's what I know from reading

  62. the Word of the Lord a little bit each day, that there's some

  63. things that the Word can point out to me in my life between

  64. Sunday and Wednesday and Wednesday and Sunday that I need

  65. before the preacher gets up there to preach on any of those

  66. services. My, I continue my dialogue with

  67. God as I pray to Him and He speaks back to me through His

  68. Word, Amen. And so it's tremendous.

  69. First Peter chapter #1 if you want to stand with me today, you

  70. can, Amen. In the House of the Lord.

  71. Good to see everybody here. I'm telling you, the Lord has

  72. been with us, Don. And I did go visit some people

  73. on the first day of the year. And Jeanette, I'm telling you,

  74. whenever we went in to see Patricia and no families around

  75. and they just allowed us in and we crossed that threshold into

  76. her room, we didn't bring the Lord there.

  77. He was already there. I'm telling you, as soon as we

  78. step across that threshold, there was just a that happened

  79. in that room. And again, He was already there.

  80. And that brings me great comfort that it doesn't matter where you

  81. are in life or what situation you are in life, many times the

  82. Lord's right there alongside you, whether you recognize Him

  83. or not, He is there. First, Chief Peter chapter #1

  84. starting with verse #13 here today.

  85. I'm telling you all, it's good to have my Bible.

  86. We were in Tennessee, ended up staying a little bit longer than

  87. what we anticipated and ministered down there.

  88. And I preached from my my daughter's Bible because I

  89. didn't take my Bible. I had my regular reader.

  90. It was a different version and I preached from hers.

  91. I had flowers all over it. So it's glad to have my

  92. masculinity back with this good old black leather Bible up here

  93. this morning. I'm just feeling more comforted

  94. about that. Amen.

  95. First Peter 1 and verse 13 it says, Wherefore gird up the

  96. loins of your mind, be sober hope, and hope to the end, for

  97. the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of

  98. Jesus Christ, as obedient children, not fashioning

  99. yourselves according to the former lust in your ignorance,

  100. but as he which hath called you is holy, be so.

  101. Be holy in all manner of conversation, because it is

  102. written, Be holy, for I am holy for a little while today.

  103. I just want to speak to you about this.

  104. Where God dwells, everything changes.

  105. Where God dwells, everything changes.

  106. Can we join our voices one more time in prayer that the Lord

  107. would help us in the next little while?

  108. Father, I love you today, God for your spirit.

  109. I thank you, Lord, for those who have congregated together here

  110. this morning on this first Lord service of a new year.

  111. I pray God that you have to help us, Lord, in our our walk in our

  112. relationship with you, Lord, I pray God help us to learn of

  113. you, Lord, in these ways and in these manners and we'll God

  114. forget Lord, to thank you, God for what you accomplished

  115. through our lives in the lovely name of Jesus Christ that we

  116. pray and the church say Amen, Amen.

  117. This morning you may be seated in Jesus name.

  118. I want to turn your attention before we get too deep in here

  119. today. And hopefully you still have

  120. your Bibles open there to first Peter.

  121. If you read the opening verses, the verses that come before the

  122. text that I read in your hearing today, the verses leading up to

  123. that tell the situation for the the advice of verse 13 of us

  124. girding up the loins of our mind and some of the things that it

  125. makes mention of there. As a matter of fact, in the

  126. opening verses of first Peter chapter #1 the Bible tells us,

  127. and Peter is talking to some people and he's reminding them,

  128. He's reminded them that they had been begotten again unto a

  129. lively hope. In other words, he said, I know

  130. that that that you're a living human being and that you came by

  131. virtue of your mother's womb. He says, but you have been

  132. begotten again. You have been born again unto a

  133. lively hope. And then this is how he said, by

  134. the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  135. It's only because Christ resurrected that any of you, any

  136. of us could have new life or a begotten gotten again experience

  137. and I'm just going to work through here just a little bit.

  138. He he says and speaks about been this lively hope that we've been

  139. begotten unto this hope that we have been begotten to.

  140. He says it is a incorruptible hope, it is a undefiled hope,

  141. and it does not fade away. It's not something that grows

  142. less intense with time, but the hope that we were begotten unto

  143. it is just as vibrant, just as valid as it was when we first

  144. began and 1st received it. And he says, although that we've

  145. been begotten by God, you can see this in verse #5 that we've

  146. been begotten by Him, but we can also be kept by Him, which I

  147. think is tremendous because not only I've been born by the Lord,

  148. but he can also keep me past the date of my birthright, past the

  149. date of my new birth experience. And so as a result, then I, I

  150. come into a newfound relationship and a new status of

  151. life with the Lord. And in that newfound

  152. relationship and that status of relationship with the Lord, here

  153. is the caution, Amen. And that is this.

  154. Just because we have a new status with the Lord does not

  155. dismiss us from temptation. It's not like everything just

  156. goes away. There's never going to be

  157. another bad day, not a bad moment.

  158. Your body's never going to be sick.

  159. You'll never be in the hospital. If, if that's if that's the

  160. beverage you're drinking, I'm sorry, it's untrue.

  161. There are still days that are difficult.

  162. There are still days you're going to be laying in a hospital

  163. bed. There's going to be days you're

  164. going to have a fevered brow. But The thing is, now you're in

  165. a relationship of someone that's going to, as I said, Jeanette,

  166. when you walk into the room, there's already somebody there

  167. with you. There's already someone there

  168. with you. And so all these different

  169. seasons of life, they're going to come.

  170. And some seasons you're going to come, it seems like more

  171. regularly than other seasons. But the Bible tells us that this

  172. begotten again experience, verse #10 tells us that this

  173. experience that they have received, that there were

  174. prophets of owed in the Old Testament men that that had

  175. spoke of such a day, had spoke of such a promise and such an

  176. experience that we're searching it out and seeking it out this

  177. this salvation. He even said that these angelic

  178. beings, the angels of heaven, even desire to look into what

  179. you have experienced by being born again or begotten by God.

  180. This experience that has been afforded to us.

  181. And so as a result of everything I just said, he comes to verse

  182. 13 and says, wherefore, because you have received that

  183. experience, because you have been begotten again and kept by

  184. that, and because generations of both earthly people and eternal

  185. angelic beings have been intrigued about what you now

  186. possess, He says you need to gird up the loins of your mind

  187. because this is where the Holy Ghost and the Holy Spirit can

  188. begin to influence us. It were to gird up the loins of

  189. our mind. And that was a very important

  190. picture for them of their culture in that day.

  191. They're they're wearing many of them robes, flowing robes, a man

  192. in that day that many of their robes indicated what type of

  193. work that they did and and so on and so forth.

  194. And so a person though that was going to run or if he needed to

  195. fight per SE or apply himself to something, many times he had to

  196. take that long flowing robe and he would gird up in a belt that

  197. he was wearing to cause the garment to be a little tighter

  198. to himself so he could run quicker and it wouldn't be in

  199. the way. And so that was a, a, a, a

  200. phrase that the people that day would know.

  201. But Peter says, when you've been begotten again, he says, now we

  202. have a responsibility. We need to gird up the loins of

  203. our mind, right? Because there's some things,

  204. there's some free flowing thoughts, there's some free,

  205. free flowing thoughts of our mind and we got to reign some of

  206. those things in Amen and corral some of those things in.

  207. And so sometimes, ladies and gentlemen, it doesn't take

  208. corralling at once. And it's like everything's

  209. caged. I got, I got some, I got some

  210. Rascal thoughts. They pick locks on the gate, so

  211. to speak. They get back out and I find

  212. myself having to corral it again the next day and corralling it

  213. again the next day because our thoughts sometimes just start to

  214. run away with us. Let me tell you, let me ask

  215. somebody today, whenever you've had your new born again

  216. experience with the Lord did not thoughts or have not thoughts

  217. come into your head sometimes and tell you what you received

  218. wasn't real. Come on.

  219. Have you had thoughts come in your head to say, you know what,

  220. you're not going to make it. You're going to go back to the

  221. old life that you used to have. Have you not had some thoughts

  222. that said, you know what, you're a failure, always going to be a

  223. failure and you're going to fail in this mode of life too.

  224. You know what those are those free flowing thoughts that by

  225. the power that you've been begotten by, you need to reign

  226. those things in, need to reign them in and gird up the loins,

  227. if you will, of our minds. The Bible says, he says to be,

  228. to be sober. That means that we should not,

  229. we should be free from intoxication.

  230. And I'm not talking necessarily about this.

  231. We get intoxicated with many things, not just substances.

  232. People can get intoxicated with other relationships that they

  233. don't need to be in. People can get intoxicated with

  234. their careers. People can get intoxicated with

  235. entertainment, especially in the entertainment age.

  236. We can get intoxicated with past experiences, whether they be bad

  237. or good, he says. Be sober.

  238. I don't. I don't.

  239. I want you to be free from intoxication.

  240. Why? Because you've been begotten by

  241. the Spirit. I want you to, if you want to be

  242. intoxicated by something, have that fresh constant renewal of

  243. the intoxication of when you was.

  244. What do you remember when you were born again of the water and

  245. the spirit, what you felt, what you experienced?

  246. What honey, I, I want that 8 year old experience again when I

  247. went to the altar of prayer and I threw up my hands and I said,

  248. God, I'm just a low down dirty Sinner at 8 years old.

  249. Yeah, he's all born into the same sin and I need your help

  250. out of this. I remember feeling what I felt.

  251. I remember speaking in other tongues.

  252. I'm never being overwhelmed by what was going on.

  253. I want that 8 year old experience tomorrow and then I

  254. want it the next day. Folks, that's what it's about.

  255. This is not just a one time at the altar experience.

  256. This is a everyday experience. If we gird up the loins of our

  257. mind, if we it can be a everyday, It is a lie that

  258. you're being told. If it's just a one day

  259. experience or just a Sunday morning, Sunday night, Wednesday

  260. experience, you can experience what you feel here on Sunday, on

  261. Monday and Tuesday and Thursday and Friday and Saturday.

  262. Amen. So don't accept that lie.

  263. So as God's children claimed by him, claimed by that Holy Ghost

  264. or that Holy Spirit, we're in a holding pattern now according to

  265. the word, according to Peter, we're in a holding pattern now

  266. that's waiting for the hope of his second coming.

  267. And he begins to tell us some of the marks of being obedient

  268. children of God, some of the marks of being obedient

  269. children. It's right there in the text

  270. that we read this morning of verse 14.

  271. As obedient children, He says not fashioning.

  272. It's another way could be translated.

  273. Is not conforming, not fashioning or conforming

  274. ourselves. Look now to the former lust or

  275. the former desires in our ignorance.

  276. What's that saying? That saying we used to live some

  277. of our life in such a way that was against God, but we did it

  278. in some regards, not even realizing what we were doing.

  279. We were ignorant. We didn't know it was against

  280. God. We thought it was just the way

  281. that everybody lived life. And so it's just what you do.

  282. But once we come begotten again by the the the word and by the

  283. Spirit, we understand. Oh, that's, that's not correct

  284. in the eyes of God. He says now that you've been

  285. begotten again, don't, don't fashion or be conformed to your

  286. old lust and your old desires that you used to be ignorantly

  287. that that brings up a scripture to my mind that Paul writing to

  288. the Church of Rome shared with him in Romans 12 and verse 2.

  289. He said, and be not conformed to this world, but be transformed

  290. by look again, by the renewing of the mind.

  291. That's the girding up of our mind, folks.

  292. We're, we're not, we're not in the conforming business.

  293. We're in the transformation business.

  294. Amen. I want there to be something

  295. transformed inside of me. So I used to do some things and

  296. I used to practice some things and some of those things I did

  297. ignorantly. I, I did it without a full

  298. understanding, a full knowledge of its wrongness or how it was

  299. an affront unto God. But now, now I know better.

  300. Would you agree with me? Because children, like, as

  301. children grow up, there's some things they're ignorant of until

  302. they're taught. I'd loved it if my kids came out

  303. like Trevor 2 point O and he just knew everything that he

  304. should have done and everything he shouldn't have done from the

  305. moment that he was born into this world.

  306. That's not the way it works. As a matter of fact, some of

  307. them have to be told more than once about how some things work.

  308. And we still say some things about how some things work.

  309. But what I'm saying is, do you agree that there's a different

  310. there's a different mindset that whenever I told him the first

  311. time about something and him never knew anything about it and

  312. then him go back and do that again and we have to tell him

  313. the second time because now it's not he's ignorant.

  314. He knows everybody, OK? He knows that there's there's

  315. something going on here because I heard you the first time.

  316. I listened the first time I asked him, did you understand

  317. what I said? He said, yeah.

  318. And then a week or maybe a day later here, here we are again.

  319. So, so God saying said now, now you're not ignorant.

  320. You, you, you know better. He said, so you don't need to

  321. continue to conform and fashion to those old things and those

  322. old lust and those old desires. Man, there's a scripture and it

  323. hits hard for every one of us. In James 417, the Bible says

  324. therefore to him that knoweth to do good, In other words, you're

  325. no longer ignorant about it. He that knoweth to do good and

  326. doeth it not, to him it is sin. And that hits hard because what

  327. we need to, instead of resorting to do and doing the things that

  328. we once did, haven't been begotten again and called by the

  329. Holy One. The Scripture says, the Bible

  330. says they're in our text. We should be wholly in all,

  331. everybody say all. It's heavy manner of

  332. conversation. Again, the word conversation

  333. here, it isn't just including how we speak.

  334. The word conversation means in all manner of behavior, in all

  335. manner of conduct, in all manner of life.

  336. God's holiness and His Holiness acted out in our life isn't just

  337. isolated to our speech, but any and every area, all manner of

  338. our conversation. Amen.

  339. And then Peter reaches back to an Old Testament verse in the

  340. Old Testament, actually there's more than one of them, several

  341. of them that say this. He says, for the Lord has said

  342. be holy, for I am holy. So matter of fact, one of those

  343. verses that that that look to that is Leviticus chapter 20 and

    Leviticus 20 chapter mention

  344. verse. 26 where the Scripture says, And ye shall be holy unto

  345. me, for I the Lord am holy. Look at this and have severed

  346. that strong word and have severed you from other people,

  347. that ye should be mine. And I think of severed.

  348. I'm thinking about cutting off, dividing away from, he said.

  349. I've severed you from them. I want you to be mine,

  350. exclusively mine. Amen.

  351. Anybody want to enter into a dating relationship with your

  352. beau and four other girls with your beau?

  353. Come on now, he wants to be exclusively theirs.

  354. Now here I I got really got to get ready and feel like I've

  355. been dragging my feet here this morning.

  356. But when we read in the Word of God from the Old Testament to

  357. the New Testament, throughout the Old Testament in particular,

  358. the Bible refers to people and places and things and ofttimes

  359. it calls them either holy or it calls them common.

  360. For instance, whenever Moses, and again, mind you, Moses had

  361. been watching over his father in law's sheep for some time now,

  362. about 40 years on the backside of the desert.

  363. And the Bible says when he's out there, it's somewhere in that

  364. 40th year timeframe that they go by a particular Bush.

  365. It's on fire, but it's not being consumed.

  366. And he's on the backside of the desert and he turns to see this

  367. site because it is peculiar. And the Lord speaks to him from

  368. there and basically says, Moses, please remove the sandals off

  369. your feet because the ground that you are on is holy ground.

  370. Holy ground. Now, folks, all the face of the

  371. earth was ground. He said, but this area right

  372. here is holy ground. And I want you to take your

  373. sandals off your feet in one mode.

  374. We can look at it like this. Sandals for sure.

  375. In that day, you know, they didn't have memory foam and all

  376. that good stuff that we have today.

  377. They're a whole lot thinner when we talk about the soul of a

  378. sandal then. But in one essence, God is

  379. telling Moses, I don't want anything between me, my

  380. holiness, and you. Even as minuscule as it may

  381. seem. I don't want anything between My

  382. holiness and you. Secondly, Moses, I've come down

  383. and I have touched this place, I have visited this place, I've

  384. made myself a manifest in this place.

  385. And so this area, this ground is holy ground because I have shown

  386. up, I have touched it, I've laid my finger up on it.

  387. And what happens whenever God touches something, even if it

  388. was formerly unclean? Listen, God cannot touch

  389. something and both He and it remain the same.

  390. And here's the confidence that I know that if Jesus Christ, as

  391. Hebrew says He is the same yesterday, today, and forever,

  392. then there's not going to be any change on His side.

  393. Hey, man, it's not going to be any change on his side.

  394. He said, I've touched this place, I've manifested myself

  395. here. This is not just ground now like

  396. the rest of the earth, this is holy ground.

  397. This has been set aside by me. It has a distinguishing mark on

  398. my presence upon it right here. It's kind of like the leper of

  399. New Testament Scripture. If you'll remember, whenever the

  400. leper came to the Lord and he, he's a leper.

  401. And he said, if, if thou canst make me clean, then so be it.

  402. And the Lord spoke to me, said be thou clean in that day.

  403. For another human being to be next to someone with leprosy

  404. would have automatically made that other human being unclean.

  405. That's the law. You're unclean.

  406. You're going to go through periods of purification and

  407. washing in order to get your quote UN quote cleanness back.

  408. But here is the Lord Jesus Christ God manifested in the

  409. flesh, Amen. And he comes and he's around

  410. this leper who is unclean by the law and by all of the mindset of

  411. humanity, Jesus should have been made unclean from that

  412. interaction. But that's not what happened

  413. because whenever you come in contact with the Lord, both of

  414. you can't stay the same. And he's not changing.

  415. That man had to leave that day clean because he had come in

  416. contact with the Savior. I feel the Holy Ghost here

  417. today. You bring whatever you need to

  418. bring to the Lord today. You can bring your failure,

  419. bring your mistake, bring your uncleanness, bring your issue,

  420. because if you come in contact with God, both of you can't stay

  421. the same. Something is going to change.

  422. Amen. That's the reason why we sing

  423. our little songs. I stepped into the water and the

  424. water was cold till my body, but not my soul.

  425. You should have been there when I prayed through.

  426. The church was on fire and the Holy Ghost too.

  427. From the top of my head to the sole of my feet, I felt the

  428. Spirit. I'm not going to stay the same.

  429. I'm not going to stay the same. I've been touched.

  430. His manifest presence has come down.

  431. Hallelujah. Thank God I'm in song land here.

  432. I guess because I almost messed up that one song.

  433. Thank God I'm not. Not what?

  434. Not what I used to be. Hey man, not only is this ground

  435. holy because God has shown up, this ground is holy because God

  436. is commissioning Moses with a purpose in his life as being a

  437. deliverer for God's people. It's separate.

  438. It's holy from any other ground. It's different.

  439. It's set apart because God is purposing from this point.

  440. Amen. A mission in Moses's life.

  441. Man, I'm just can't get through anything here today.

  442. You got to consider some of the other places that the Bible

  443. describes as holy. The Tabernacle that God

  444. commissioned Moses to build in the wilderness.

  445. It had in it a place called the Holy Place.

  446. It had a place a little further in there called the Holies of

  447. Holies, which was the holiest place of all within the

  448. Tabernacle. It would be the place where God

  449. would later tell Moses, he said up upon the mercy seat between

  450. where the two chair Bamar, I'll make myself known to you, I'll

  451. manifest myself to you. And it's in that place that is

  452. the holiest of all, place where God would even come down and

  453. manifest and dwell and make himself known.

  454. It's later from Tabernacle to the temple that Solomon would

  455. later build. Even in Jerusalem.

  456. It had also a place that was a holy place.

  457. And it was founded in the city of Jerusalem that the Bible

  458. often calls the holy city because it's the city that God

  459. had chose. It's the city the Bible says

  460. that God had put His name, His name upon.

  461. So in the time of the temple, in the time of these things, all

  462. things either existed in a couple different categories, a

  463. couple different states. They were either common or they

  464. were holy. Common is just the natural state

  465. of all things. It's just common.

  466. It's not necessarily meaning something is just horrific, but

  467. it's just the natural state of things.

  468. But when you talk about holy, that's a, that's a special

  469. state. It means that a thing has been

  470. removed from its natural state and it's been dedicated to the

  471. Lord for his exclusive use. Brother Fred.

  472. And so when you take something from its common state to a holy

  473. state, the Bible has a fancy word for it.

  474. Don't you know the Bible has some fancy words?

  475. Justification, glorification, propitiation.

  476. Well, this would be sanctification.

  477. There's your five syllable word sanctification when something is

  478. taken from the common state to the holy state.

  479. And here's here's what we know. According to the word, something

  480. can be clean without being holy. There's people today that's

  481. living good moral lives. There's the Corneliuses of Acts

  482. chapter #10 that pray and give alms clean, quote UN quote.

  483. But it's only holy if it becomes exclusively his.

  484. Everybody doing OK? I know I say that for my wife

  485. told me. I say that a lot.

  486. So I'll try not to say that so much.

  487. I'm just kind of taking your pulse and making sure you're OK

  488. because I'm trying to figure out if I'm OK.

  489. Like I got, I'm holding mine. I'm holding.

  490. You're like, OK, we're all right.

  491. But here's the fact. Anything that is holy His is

  492. meant to be kept clean. Because when holy things cease

  493. to be clean and they become profane and they become corrupt

  494. and they're no longer than holy, they've lost their wholeness.

  495. They've lost their purity, which is some of the definitions of

  496. holiness. Notice in each of these places,

  497. Tabernacle, Temple, Jerusalem, this is of interest, I believe,

  498. for us today. In each of these places, they

  499. all had a wall around them. They all had a wall around them.

  500. They, they all were enclosed places.

  501. That outer court that was to the Tabernacle, you had to go.

  502. You had to go through some curtains to get in there.

  503. That outer core of the Tabernacle, you had to go

  504. through some gates to get in there.

  505. The city of Jerusalem, there were only a certain number of

  506. gates around the perimeter of that wall that allowed you

  507. entrance or exit in that city. Because these are holy places.

  508. These are holy places and we need some doors, we need some

  509. gates, we need some bells, we need some entrances where we can

  510. control what gets on the inside and what's loud to exit from

  511. them. These these holy places are

  512. folks. Think about it for a moment.

  513. The very garden in the beginning is called the Garden of

  514. Gethsemane. The word garden distinctly means

  515. enclosed place. He set up an arena of holiness

  516. right from the beginning. That was a enclosed space.

  517. Amen. It's an enclosed space, has a

  518. wall. They're standing on holy ground

  519. and it was just this distinct You outside of Jerusalem, unholy

  520. inside the wall, holy. Outside of the Tabernacle tent

  521. structure, unholy inside, holy. Same so with the temple as well.

  522. Doesn't necessarily mean it's just a good, a hoard, evil

  523. place, but it's just not a holy place because within the

  524. parameter of all this, this has been set apart for God.

  525. Within the parameter of this shoe bread and this, this labor

  526. and all that, this has been set apart for God.

  527. God was pleased, interestingly enough, Tabernacle, Temple,

  528. Jerusalem, those places, even the garden of, of, of Eden.

  529. Look, he's pleased to do well in each of these places, and it

  530. wasn't even until the transgression of Adam and Eve.

  531. Then what does he take and do for them?

  532. I'm going to set you outside the enclosed space because we have

  533. got a little schism now in our relationship and you've not

  534. given yourself exclusively to me, so I did OK.

  535. But the Bible, he said they're saying he's not OK.

  536. He's not OK. I've known that for a long time,

  537. but he just didn't ask me. But not just earthly dwelling.

  538. The Bible speaks of his heavenly dwelling.

  539. Look at some verses Isaiah 63 and 15.

  540. The Bible says look down from heaven and behold from I love

  541. the word in here the habitation of thy holiness or thy holy

  542. habitation and of thy glory. Jeremiah the prophet 25 and

  543. verse 30 says the Lord shall roar from on high and utter his

  544. voice from his holy habitation. He's Speaking of the heavenlies

  545. of of that that that place Yonder beyond, if you will, the

  546. blue God's heavenly dwelling place.

  547. It is also so described as holy or a holy habitation.

  548. Everything that is set apart unto the Lord, Amen.

  549. There will be no unclean thing there according to the Book of

  550. Revelation. There will be no impure thing

  551. there, according to the Book of Revelation, just those things

  552. that are dedicated, set apart, distinguished for the Lord.

  553. And John writes a description of it in a way, in the Book of

  554. Revelation, in Revelation. And I've already just kind of

  555. touched on it a little bit, but look at the Scripture.

  556. I think it's important that you see with your eyes the scripture

  557. Revelation 2127, and I'm going to read into in chapter 22 as

  558. well, he says. But nothing unclean will ever

  559. enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but

  560. only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life.

  561. Going with verse 1 of chapter 22.

  562. Then the Angel showed me a river, some version say a pure

  563. river. Amen.

  564. Of water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne

  565. of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the

  566. city. Also on either side of the

  567. river, the tree of life with it's twelve kinds of fruit.

  568. Let's just stop and take recognition.

  569. There was a tree of life in the Garden of Eden and was found in

  570. the enclosed space in this holy habitation.

  571. In heaven there is another. There is a tree of life in this

  572. holy habitation. Twelve kinds of fruit yielding

  573. each fruit each month. It's fruit each month.

  574. And the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nation's

  575. folks. I think it's tremendous that the

  576. passage begins to show a connection between His Holiness

  577. and between purity and between the Crystal River and in between

  578. healing. Yeah, come on, wait.

  579. Because here's the fact that I know as a minister now, for

  580. several, several years, we have looked at this whole concept of

  581. holiness too narrowly. We chalk it only up to this idea

  582. of modesty, but you know, the Bible talks about several things

  583. that are holy. It says in Psalms 33 verse 21,

    Psalms 33:21

  584. we have trusted in His holy name.

  585. That's one of the reasons why you take that name on you in

  586. baptism. And that holy name is applied to

  587. you because you received the Holy Spirit alongside.

  588. I got a holy name on me that's separating me.

  589. I got a Holy Spirit that's separating me.

  590. And because I've been begotten again, I'm going to gird up the

  591. loins of my mind and be sober and look for the coming of book.

  592. And I'm not going to go back into the things that I used to

  593. do ignorantly God that you know what that also means God's name

  594. and that name set apart from every other name.

  595. Let me tell you, Jesus was not the only individual in the world

  596. at his time. And historians tell us that the

  597. name of Jesus was quite common in that day.

  598. There are other people called Jesus, but there was no one

  599. named Jesus like the man Christ Jesus who was tempted in all

  600. ways like you and I are yet was without sin that became the

  601. ultimate once forever sacrifice for all the rest of humanity

  602. that ever that sets him apart. He's the he's the only man that

  603. was God Incarnate or God in flesh.

  604. That's it's his name apart, set apart from every other name, so

  605. much so that Paul made a statement that the name Jesus in

  606. Philippians 29 is a name that is above every name the Bible says

  607. in Exodus 19 and six. And ye shall be unto me a

  608. Kingdom of priests, he speaking to Israel, and a holy nation he

  609. tells him in Deuteronomy 7 and 6 For thou art a holy people unto

  610. the Lord thy God. The Lord thy God hath chosen

  611. thee. Someone say, I've been

  612. handpicked. He has chosen thee could be a

  613. special people unto himself, above all people that are upon

  614. the face of the earth. You are not chosen to be like

  615. everybody else. You are not chosen to be like

  616. the world. You are not chosen to be like

  617. your culture. If anybody asks you why don't

  618. you like everybody else, you tell them you're from a

  619. different world. Come on, you tell them you're

  620. from a different world. Abraham travelled all his life

  621. looking for a city whose builder and maker was God.

  622. He didn't find it in the earth. How these He didn't find it in

  623. Iran. He didn't find it even in

  624. Israel. He was looking for a city out of

  625. this world. At our best, we are strangers

  626. and we are pilgrims. Bible says in Exodus 28 and

  627. four, I'm just running through a few of these because we just

  628. look at a lot of times modesty, that's all there is.

  629. They shall make holy garments for Aaron the priest, thy

  630. brother and his sons that he may minister to meet in the priest

  631. office. Now we could look at like we get

  632. to go down that road and we probably will before it's all

  633. said and done here in the next five years.

  634. Our revelation says he has made us kings and priests.

  635. How Peterman says that we are now a royal priesthood, that for

  636. them there were some holy garments.

  637. All right. Deuteronomy 2613 says, Then thou

  638. shalt say before the Lord thy God, I have brought away the

  639. hallowed things, which the word hallowed is holy things out of

  640. mine house. This is interesting.

  641. Your Bible tells you in the New Testament Scripture, and

  642. Speaking of money, it calls it filthy lucre.

  643. Calls it filthy lucre or filthy money.

  644. Do you know that there's holy money too?

  645. Oh God, it's money that's been set apart and dedicated.

  646. Matter of fact, in the Old Testament a tenth of their goods

  647. was given to the Lord, and by means of offering the 10th, it

  648. redeemed the other 90% that they had their 10th.

  649. The offering of their tenth made holy.

  650. The rest there's holy money. When do they give you your

  651. check? And the government's taking

  652. theirs and the insurance taking theirs, and your 4-O1K's taking

  653. hits. And you sit down at your table

  654. and you begin to write. You're 10%.

  655. And to the Lord, you know what you're doing by virtue you're

  656. making everything you receive just become holy.

  657. And until it's done, you just got filthy lucre.

  658. But the moment that it's done, everything that's just coming to

  659. your hand has become holy, set apart.

  660. It's you say, well, God don't need my money as cow on 1000

  661. hills. Bless God.

  662. That's true. He don't, but it's a trial of

  663. your faith who you depending on, because if I say I can't make it

  664. without that 10%, I must be depending on the greenbacks.

  665. Come on, that's what carries my life.

  666. But Ioffer what is rightfully his, his, which it all is his

  667. Old Testament scriptures that he gave you health to even secure

  668. the wealth. But if I return that to him,

  669. then you know what I'm saying? God, it really don't matter.

  670. It's all up to you anyway how this all rose out.

  671. Amen. That's right, yes, yes, so do

  672. you. We're not just talking about

  673. holy clothing, holy words, holy attitudes, holy mindset.

  674. There's a lot of things that's holy Exodus 20 and eight.

  675. I got to run got to run. Remember the Sabbath day to keep

  676. it holy. But McGee, we're not we're not

  677. such and such Listen one in in creation.

  678. What it comes down to this is one day out of seven was set

  679. aside Forrest and return of worship and reflection to the

  680. Lord and the way to keep it holy was to keep it in check as laid

  681. aside unto the Lord. New Testament scripture tells us

  682. that we don't want it. We don't esteem one day above

  683. the other, but every day because when you've received his Holy

  684. Spirit and you got his holy name on you, every day is holy unto

  685. the Lord. If I do.

  686. See, I don't play the part on Sunday.

  687. This is the day holy. And to the Lord Paul Mcgee's

  688. going to be in his best holy fashion.

  689. Oh great Father, mighty God, please come in this place.

  690. No, no, no, no, no, no, don't know.

  691. See, whenever you get the Holy Spirit and you have His holy

  692. name, and you start living through the lens of holiness

  693. every day, let's go on Exodus 30, verse 25.

    Exodus 30:25

  694. And thou shalt make it a holy, an oil of holy ointment, an

  695. ointment compound after the art of the apothecary.

  696. It shall be a holy anointing oil.

  697. The Bible says in Exodus 29, verse 37.

    Exodus 29:37

  698. I hope you're rolling with me, Doctor Mason, I'm not checking.

  699. And it shall be an altar most holy.

  700. Whosoever toucheth the altar shall be holy.

  701. So during the Old Testament we we had holy times, holy oil,

  702. holy altar, holy dress, holy money.

  703. So today, being committed to holy, holy life, all time is

  704. holy again. Every day belongs unto the Lord,

  705. is committed to His Holiness at 20.

  706. This is the 24/7 market of holiness Old Testament times

  707. priests were anointed with a special holy oil.

  708. New Testament tells us about the Old Testament.

  709. A lot of things in the Old Testament was just a shadow of

  710. things that were to come. They were not the actual thing,

  711. but it's the thing was was casting the shadow.

  712. We're following the shadow to the actual substance.

  713. It was just a shadow of things to come.

  714. That was great Old Testament them being anointed with oil,

  715. but it was a shadow of something to come that happened really

  716. initially on the day of Pentecost when there were those

  717. 120 that were get in the upper room that per SE had the oil,

  718. oil called God's Spirit put upon them.

  719. And so everybody today that's born again in the water and the

  720. Spirit have in essence been anointed by that holy oil.

  721. In the Old Testament times. It's animal sacrifices, right?

  722. They're being brought and they're considered holy because

  723. they're taken from the herd or they're taken from the flock.

  724. They're set apart from all the other animals.

  725. That's distinction. That's a setting apart for a

  726. special use and purpose. It's a holiness that's there.

  727. And then they're offered here at the altar, which the Bible or he

  728. told us was holy, most holy. When there's the touching, the

  729. mingle of it, the offering becomes holy.

  730. Why so? Because the altar was the place

  731. that God and man came together at sacrifice time.

  732. We, I know we're not dragging in some lamb this morning.

  733. Glenna, y'all got goats, I think, so we might be able to

  734. get her hand on a goat. And I know we're not dragging.

  735. Bless God. You know, sometimes you just

  736. almost lose it completely. Help me, Jesus, I know we're not

  737. bringing no animal in here this morning.

  738. We're not offering a holy animal on a per SE, a holy altar to a

  739. holy God. But New Testament tells us how

  740. the sacrificial system or means has changed in Romans 12.

  741. I beseech ye therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,

  742. that ye present your bodies living sacrifice.

  743. You can only be a living sacrifice because he became the

  744. slaughtered sacrifice. Living sacrifice.

  745. Holy wait, hold on. We can still have a sacrifice

  746. today. It's not the goat or the lamb,

  747. but it's ourselves. But one thing is for sure, sure,

  748. it's still holy, holy and acceptable to God, which is our

  749. reasonable ServiceNow folks. We, we, we kind of pale in

  750. comparison a little bit, you know, to, to to the Tabernacle,

  751. even the wilderness. We, we don't have no bronze

  752. altar up here. I'm sorry about that.

  753. And we for sure, we for sure pale in comparison to the temple

  754. of Solomon. There, there, there, there no

  755. golden altar up here. I, I, I'm sorry about that.

  756. But we do this, have this O carpeted altar here and the the

  757. Bible tells us that that altar is most holy nonetheless, Amen,

  758. because it is still the altar. And I think we need to get back

  759. to understanding this and accepting this and looking at it

  760. like this. The altar is still a very

  761. spiritual place where men, Amen, living sacrifices of men and God

  762. meet. We need to remember, listen to

  763. me here on this first day, our first service of the year.

  764. We need to remember that whenever people are in these

  765. altar, they are in a holy place, in a holy time, in a meeting

  766. with a holy God where God can dispense His Holiness and his

  767. Holy Spirit and his holy name. We we still need to teach, treat

  768. it as such. Can I just step and as a pastor

  769. today, having had two kids, we need to teach our children as

  770. such. We need them to frequent the

  771. altar, but we need them to be respectful about what's

  772. happening in the altar. All right, Leviticus 23, verse

    Leviticus 23:37

  773. 37. Now that says read my phone,

  774. doesn't I'm just here to I'm talking about time.

  775. Leviticus 23, verse 37. These are the feast of the

    Leviticus 23:37

  776. Lords, which shall, which shall proclaim to be holy

  777. convocations, where convocations basically means assembly.

  778. These are holy assemblies. These are holy gatherings.

  779. These are holy public meetings. Public meetings of God were

  780. defined and characterized as being holy.

  781. Can I tell you this morning you are in a holy meeting when we

  782. gather to worship, not only do the people that come here that's

  783. been born again in the water spirit individually holy, but as

  784. we corporally gathered together, we are forming up a holy

  785. meeting. Oh God and brother Fred, we need

  786. to still have that same type of mindset of as we come together,

  787. we're entering into a holy convocation and even missing

  788. this, I'm missing a holy convocation deserves respect.

  789. It reserves our honor, all these things.

  790. Leviticus 625, I'll come to a close real quick.

  791. Quick is subjective. The Bible says in Leviticus 625

  792. speaking to Aaron his son, saying this is the law of the

  793. sin offering and the place where the burnt offering is killed

  794. shall be the sin offering be killed before the Lord.

  795. It is most holy. So God has called us in the New

  796. Testament to offer ourselves as living sacrifices.

  797. But the sin offering as it was in the Old Testament, the sin

  798. offering allowed an individual to come to God in the 1st place.

  799. They offered the sin offering in order to have the ability to

  800. come to God in the first place. That was Old Testament.

  801. In the New Testament we had a sin offering.

  802. His altar was Calvary, and because of himself, his flesh

  803. being on that altar called Calvary.

  804. It's that lifted up place, that slaughtering place, that it has

  805. become a most holy place, and that most holy God who come in

  806. the likeness of sinful flesh of humanity, who sacrificed his own

  807. holy life for our sins. The Bible says in Hebrews 10/10

  808. we are sanctified. There's that word again, or

  809. sanctification, 5 syllables if you like that one, which

  810. basically means to be made holy through the offering of the body

  811. of Jesus Christ once for all. What are you saying?

  812. We could never be holy had it not been for our God's holy work

  813. at Calvary. Had he been a Sinner just like

  814. us, it would have not have been an effective sacrifice for us.

  815. The sacrifice according even to the law, it had to be holy.

  816. It had to be set apart. That's the reason why in first

  817. Peter 221, Stan, I'm doing that so that you'll be encouraged.

  818. First Peter 2 and verse 22 Bible speaks of our God.

  819. He did no sin Jesus, neither was God found in his mouth.

  820. In verse 24 it says who his own self bear our sins in his own

  821. body on the tree, that we being dead to sins could live unto

  822. righteousness. So I'm getting that this

  823. morning. Where where God dwells,

  824. everything changes. From Genesis to Revelation, the

  825. patterns clear. Where God dwells, everything

  826. changes. The ground becomes holy whenever

  827. God touches it. The temp becomes holy whenever

  828. God enters it. The city becomes holy whenever

  829. God puts His name upon it. The sacrifice becomes holy when

  830. it's set apart for his use and for His purpose.

  831. And now we can become holy because we've been sanctified by

  832. the power of a sacrifice, a sin offering.

  833. You can be holy today, and please listen to me clearly.

  834. You can be holy today not because you are clean enough.

  835. You can be holy today not because you are clean enough,

  836. but because he was holy enough, because he was holy enough and

  837. His Holiness made salvation then possible.

  838. The indwelling of that possible, and he sets our feet upon the

  839. street called straight is even what the New Testament writer

  840. said in so much what? Wherefore I gird up the loins of

  841. my mind. I'm sober.

  842. I don't, I don't go and entertain my life with those

  843. things that I used to do, but yet was ignorant of.

  844. I I, I as obedient, I, I, I surrender and I don't fashion

  845. after those things. But I'm, I'm tending toward all

  846. my manner of life to be holding the Lord.

  847. I'm holy because he is, He is holy.

  848. Folks, if you've received the Spirit, he dwells in you and

  849. you're no longer should no longer be common.

  850. Commonness should no longer be an option for you.

  851. But holiness, you say, brother McGee, I, I desire today and you

  852. close your eyes all over this bin.

  853. You say, brother McGee, I desire today.

  854. I desire today a, a divine intersection with the Lord

  855. because brother McGee, from where I'm standing, I, I know my

  856. natural state. I know my natural state.

  857. And brother McGee, in the years that I've lived this life, I've

  858. even taken my natural state and I've, I've flirted with it.

  859. I've, I've taken it down some roads and some paths and been

  860. involved in some things that just even took a common state

  861. and maybe even have made it a dirty, unclean, defiled state.

  862. But I'm afraid, Pastor McGee, I'm afraid because Pastor McGee,

  863. you, you don't know how many years the calendar has flipped

  864. over from December 31st to January 1st.

  865. And I've told myself this year's going to be different.

  866. We're, we're going to overcome some things this year.

  867. We're not going to engage in some things this year.

  868. And before February even arrived, found myself in the

  869. same, the same boat, the same patterns, the same practices.

  870. Sir, ma'am, I ask you today, have you ever come in contact

  871. with the Lord? Because we're standing in a holy

  872. place today and there's a holy altar today, and there's some

  873. holy groups of people around here today.

  874. And I've already witnessed because I felt that his Holy

  875. Ghost in spirit here today and His name, His holy name is here

  876. today. And I'm telling you this

  877. morning, God would love to have a divine intersection with you

  878. and your common life today. He loved to have intersection

  879. with you and the life maybe that you've mishandled today because

  880. again, you cannot meet and both Him and you remain the same

  881. Folks, that's not just something I'm just spilling out from the

  882. side of my mouth. That is a guarantee I have

  883. through God's Word. Something is going to change

  884. from that encounter. Something is going to change.

  885. This altar is open today. I'm asking every individual,

  886. whoever you may be, somebody might be looking over their

  887. life. Someone might be looking where

  888. they are right now. Maybe someone is casting their

  889. eye in the future. God is here this morning.

  890. This is a holy altar. This is a holy place.

  891. It doesn't matter if you're St. Sinner, if you're indifferent,

  892. it does not matter. I'm asking every single one of

  893. us, Let's start out this first service of the year.

  894. Saved, unsaved, whoever you are, let's embrace this holy place

  895. called an altar. Let there be the intermingling

  896. of our lives, these bodies as a living sacrifices with a holy

  897. God, where everything can change, where everything can

  898. change. Or or ma'am, you don't have to

  899. walk your rear Rd. alone. 2026 doesn't have to be like 2025.

  900. You don't have to be the lonely Rd.

  901. No, no, no. God is waiting for you.

  902. God is desirous of you. God wants you.

  903. Everything can change.
