  1. Give that to the Lord. Feel the Lord sweeping through

  2. this place. What a great people Man.

  3. This has been a special week to me.

  4. Not just this week, but I've been seeking the Lord.

  5. For some things. I felt like this week there was

  6. some answers, some that I've been searching for alone find

  7. again myself. During my pastoral years, I

  8. always said I had the morning watch messages always came to

  9. me. You, that's my beautiful wife

  10. back here. Between 3:00 and 6:00, the Lord

  11. would wake me up and I'd go to the office and he.

  12. Began to speak to me. Well, I've been waking up at

  13. 3:00, something that's not happened a lot lately, but it

  14. just the morning while I was praying, I said, Lord, if it's

  15. what you want, you start being my alarm.

  16. Just wake me up every morning at 3:00.

  17. I've woke up this morning, I've went and spent my time in prayer

  18. and I've been asking him for some things and I felt like.

  19. He's. Brought some answers to me,

  20. thank you Jesus. So tonight I've got a message

  21. that was given me. It tells you how old it is.

  22. I don't know what year it is, Pastor, and I might be able to

  23. tell you, but one of my prayers was answered in that weekend I

  24. was asked to. I always had it in my mind that

  25. I wanted to team up with my son and preach.

  26. Well, Sister McGee and I, we had taken a trip to her sister's

  27. down in Kentucky. You can sit down y'all for a

  28. little bit. Don't want you stand.

  29. And Brother Mitchell Ferguson had asked us to come to his

  30. church and preach its anniversary services.

  31. Well, he'd asked Brother Paul to preach in the afternoon.

  32. I was preaching the morning. That made a all day thing of it.

  33. He took, you know, dinner on the ground or dinner.

  34. Anyway, Sister McGee, I was on her way from there and come to

  35. the motel room. And I sit down at that desk, and

  36. God begins. Put this message together.

  37. Now I'm going to preach it again.

  38. Tonight may be different, It's old and it's new, but there was

  39. something special about this message.

  40. So when the God gave it to me, He told me to preach it wherever

  41. I had the chance to preach it. Now, I don't know how many

  42. different churches I've preached this then, but it's coming back

  43. home. And I thought, you know what, we

  44. got a whole new group of people. So tonight I'm going to

  45. reinstitute it again because I feel like now the Lord, I wasn't

  46. even questioning what I was going to preach.

  47. It seemed like that this just coming, it wouldn't leave.

  48. And when I begin to look around at it, Brother short, I looked

  49. at our day and the day that we live in and this sermon is so,

  50. so real. Even today as there as then.

  51. It was a stirring message and I still believe today it is.

  52. So just preach with me tonight. I feel the Holy Ghost in this

  53. place. You stand with me to the reading

  54. of the word. I'm going to be turned to Saint

  55. Luke. Check chapter 19.

  56. Saint Luke chapter 19 very familiar and read the first 6

    Luke 19 chapter mention

  57. verses. And Jesus entered in and passed

  58. through Jericho. And behold, there was a man

  59. named Zacchaeus which was the chief among the publicans, and

  60. he was rich. Everybody said he was rich and

  61. he sought to see Jesus who he was and could not for the press.

  62. Everybody said the press because he was little of stature, and he

  63. ran before, and he climbed into a Sycamore tree to see him, for

  64. he was to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the

  65. place, he looked up and saw him and said to him, Zacchaeus, make

  66. haste and come down. For today I must abide to your

  67. house. I'm going to turn over backward

  68. a little bit. You know, different writers kind

  69. of pick up a different thing about the message in Mark 10,

  70. starting verse #46 and they came into Jericho, and he went out of

  71. Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people.

  72. Blind Bartimaeus Glory, son of Timaeus, set by the highway

  73. side, begging. And when he had heard that it

  74. was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, Jesus, thou

  75. son of David, have mercy on me. And many charged him that he

  76. should hold his peace. But he cried out the Moor a

  77. great deal. Thou son of David, have mercy on

  78. me. I like this part.

  79. And Jesus stood still. Have you ever made Jesus stand

  80. still, and commanded him to be called?

  81. And they called the blind man, saying unto him, Behold, be of

  82. comfort, Rise he calleth thee. And he, casting away his

  83. garment, rose, and came to Jesus.

  84. And Jesus answered and said to him, What wilt thou that I

  85. should do unto thee? And the blind man said unto him,

  86. Lord, that I might receive my sight.

  87. And Jesus said to him, Go thy way, thy faith had made thee

  88. home. And immediately he received his

  89. sight and follow Jesus in the way.

  90. Heavenly Father, I feel your presence, and I know you're

  91. beside me. I'm asking, Lord, that they will

  92. not hear me, but let them hear your word tonight.

  93. God. I'm only a container standing

  94. here, God, emptying myself. Oh God.

  95. Praying that you'll use this tonight, that you'll stir

  96. tonight, this people you'll encourage, you'll bring back

  97. enthusiasm, bring. Back strength, Lord, bring back

  98. the gifts of the Spirit. Operating and moving.

  99. Let it happen tonight, Lord, I pray it in thy holy name.

  100. In thy holy name everybody said Amen.

  101. You may be seated. Let me pull this coat off.

  102. God get rid of. It I want to preach on this

  103. subject tonight. The.

  104. Cry of desperation. The cry of desperation, man.

  105. Hallelujah. I believe that there is a call

  106. that's going out right now in the church, not only in the

  107. church, but in the world. There's a cry of desperation

  108. that's calling to every individual.

  109. More people today is seeking after God.

  110. You don't have to look for them. They look for you, man.

  111. I'm thankful tonight for my dear wife, my my beautiful wife

  112. that's sitting there on that back Pew that is stood by my

  113. side for over 60 years and in pastor and it was 24/7 almost

  114. together. Kids weren't home when we moved

  115. to the Parsonage when I became full time pastor and and it was

  116. just a everyday thing running hospitals and doing things.

  117. Hallelujah. So she knows about the cry of

  118. desperation. Hey man, but I want to preach to

  119. you tonight about this because I think that God is doing

  120. something in the midst. Of our church right now that

  121. this points toward see because it's always noticed that he was

  122. in the press. He could not get to Jesus.

  123. He couldn't see him. Everybody was in his way.

  124. I'm going to tell you every time you start and want to do

  125. something good for God, there's going to be something in your

  126. way. It's always going to be in the.

  127. Press. If you think you're going to do

  128. it easy, I'm telling you right now it's not going to happen.

  129. It's going to take a lot of prayer.

  130. It's not just going to be a 5 minute prayer, but I found

  131. myself the other day and I, I woke up at 3:00 and I was still

  132. praying at 4:15 and I couldn't stop praying.

  133. You know why? Because of the press.

  134. You got to press your way through today.

  135. If you're going to pray, you might as well pray until you

  136. pray through. Hallelujah, I want to tell you

  137. something. Depression.

  138. In my own words is this see the IT says that you know that

  139. desperation is without care or danger, extreme, violent.

  140. Or working when hope is dim. That's desperation, but I've got

  141. my own desperation. I think that desperation in my

  142. own words would be Lord, I thank you for what you.

  143. Have done. But I am desperate for what you

  144. can do. Oh, we tie God's hands so many

  145. times. Oh Lord, that he can do

  146. anything. Through Christ, which strengthen

  147. us, we can do anything on the day of Pentecost, that great

  148. power that he had, he passed down to the church.

  149. And whatever we bind on earth or be bound in heaven, whatever we

  150. loose on earth or be loosed in heaven, I'm going to tell you we

  151. need to loosen some things in our territory and we need to

  152. bind some things in our territory.

  153. Hallelujah. I'm desperate for what I know he

  154. can do Hallelujah. Oh, Jesus, I feel him in here.

  155. Thank you, Jesus. I want to tell you, there's

  156. always the throg and there's always the rabble and there was

  157. always the multitudes. There's always going to be the

  158. crowd. There's going to be those that's

  159. going to try to discourage you and trouble you and your walk

  160. with God. There's going to be others

  161. that's going to try to make you change your mind and turn your

  162. mind. You're away from God.

  163. The world is vying your attention on every hand.

  164. I don't care if you turn on the TV or you slip through Facebook.

  165. What you do? The devil is vying for your

  166. attention. It's there for the having.

  167. Why can't the church be so desperate that we vie the

  168. attention of the world? Draw it to the church.

  169. Pray until the answer comes that God will bring him through the

  170. doors. Hallelujah, Hallelujah.

  171. I believe that we're living in the world today, that we have

  172. tried to fit God into our schedules, but Jesus commanded

  173. us to take up our cross instead. And follow him daily.

  174. None of that fits into our schedule.

  175. But we got to. It's got to be a everyday thing.

  176. It's got to be a every night thing.

  177. Come on. We got to do this thing every

  178. day or it's not good enough. I don't know about you, but I

  179. need him. Every day.

  180. All day long, I need him. What a God.

  181. We. Serve.

  182. It's a daily walk. Haggai chapter 2 and verse 9

    Haggai 2 chapter mention

  183. says the glory. Everybody said the glory.

  184. Of this ladder house, everybody said ladder house.

  185. Somebody say that to us shall be greater than the farmer, sayeth

  186. the Lord of hosts. Come on, church.

  187. I think we're sitting on our seats when we ought to be

  188. standing. I think we're walking around the

  189. church when we ought to be running around the church.

  190. I think we're standing still when we ought to be jumping.

  191. Come on, Hallelujah. We need to get this excitement

  192. back in the church. Come on, you, you shouldn't have

  193. to ask people to praise the Lord.

  194. It ought to be something that when they come through the

  195. church house doors they start praising because they feel it

  196. and they can't keep from it. We've looked around at the

  197. circumstances of our day rather than the God that we serve and

  198. said. How?

  199. Can we have revival? How can we have revival?

  200. How's, how is revival going to come to us?

  201. Yet Jeremiah 3227 it says, Behold, I am the Lord, the God

  202. of all. Flesh.

  203. Is there anything everybody said, anything too hard for me?

  204. Oh, jeez, Revival don't come through our programs.

  205. Well, now I said revival don't come through our programs.

  206. I still remember. I still remember in the first

  207. little church at Kingsburg we was getting ready to start

  208. service. I won't forget this.

  209. Or it had guitar in the hand. Raid lead songs raid, do

  210. whatever it took. Young man come to our altar,

  211. knelt down and he said I want to, I just want to find the

  212. Lord. We prayed Amen without a song

  213. ever been sung, and the Lord filled him with the Holy Ghost.

  214. Five others, one right after another, God filled with the

  215. Holy Ghost without a song being sung.

  216. And the last one was a 76 year old man that sat on the back

  217. Pew. Come on.

  218. The doctors had told him not to get too excited, but I'm telling

  219. you, he sat on the Pew and the Holy Ghost fell on him and he

  220. received it. Come on, I'm telling you about

  221. this excitement. Do we got it?

  222. Rubs off of the old and the new and the middle.

  223. Aged, but the Bob back there still got it.

  224. I went back, hug his neck, buddy, and the first thing you

  225. know, he was, he said about to slip right out of the Pew.

  226. I'm talking about the Holy Ghost.

  227. I'm talking about the. Power of God.

  228. When you receive the Holy Ghost, you shall receive power.

  229. See revival don't come through our programs.

  230. A program I like this. A program is a prepackaged,

  231. manageable, predictable reproduction of what worked once

  232. for somebody, somewhere. I'm going to tell you, sometimes

  233. we need to change things around a little bit.

  234. Sometimes we just need to have a break out before church.

  235. Sometimes we need to have a prayer line before church.

  236. We used to do it all the time in the second church.

  237. Come on, you know, you could see in people's kind of relaxed and

  238. you know, not doing much and Lord it just say, hey, why don't

  239. you just have prayer line? You know, there may be some

  240. people in here that needs healing.

  241. And they lined halfway around the church and we had prayer,

  242. then preached. And guess what?

  243. God moved in that there was some.

  244. People healed in that. There was a lady that lived

  245. right across the the right, across the church, right across

  246. the road from the church. She came.

  247. She had seven children. Found out she had cirrhosis of

  248. the liver and it was she'd never drink.

  249. It wasn't that and I didn't know this caused it.

  250. They said multiple childbirths sometimes 'cause that and she

  251. was carrying around cirrhosis of the liver.

  252. So she was going every week and they was checking the enzymes,

  253. adjusting her medicine. All of that.

  254. One of those nights. But Freddie, you probably

  255. remember it, sister. Christmas.

  256. Come through that line. We.

  257. Prayed for her. She didn't just shout all over

  258. the place or nothing. Guess what?

  259. The next day was her appointment with the doctor and she went

  260. through his doors. He checked her out and he said

  261. what happened to you? It's gone.

  262. It's not there. You don't have it no more.

  263. Come on. I'm telling you all it takes

  264. some time is a little enthusiasm, say.

  265. Hey, we're going to do this in the face of the enemy.

  266. I claimed my victory before the enemy's got a chance.

  267. Holy Ghost. Holy Ghost.

  268. Smooth. Jesus, Hallelujah.

  269. He's a healer. He can do it the first to

  270. service. He can do it in the middle of

  271. the service. He can do it.

  272. The end. Whoo.

  273. Glory. I want to tell you something.

  274. Let's let's talk about Zacchaeus.

  275. See, Zacchaeus was in a Sycamore tree, a coffin tree.

  276. They build coffins out of it. Think about that.

  277. He got up in a dead tree. But both.

  278. There's something alive up there.

  279. It was I want to tell you something.

  280. I I. I've thought and I've prayed

  281. about this, and I don't think that tree was there by chance,

  282. but I believe there was a, a planting of that tree many years

  283. ago, Brother Short, and there was angels sent to guard the sea

  284. and make sure that it grew. And that church, I want to tell

  285. you something. That seed began to grow.

  286. And it grew to this place for this day, for a little guy that

  287. was in the press and couldn't see Jesus.

  288. And he said, I'm going to climb the Sycamore tree.

  289. But Alex, I can see him to hey, your Bible said he was rich.

  290. You know, he threw up. And I know my coat's over here.

  291. I could just see him. He's he's taking that coat and

  292. he's just throwing it. He said man, I got to see Jesus.

  293. So he takes a $400.00 coat off and he shimmies up because he

  294. wants to see Jesus. When you get desperate, you'll

  295. do desperate things. If you want to see God, No,

  296. you'll do desperate things just to see it happen.

  297. If you've got family unsafe, you'll do something to see them

  298. say. Hallelujah.

  299. Oh. Jeez, my son, Dad said.

  300. Dad, are you up to this? I'm going to tell you something.

  301. I don't want this to define who I am.

  302. I don't want just because. I had a heart.

  303. Attack all the other stuff that went on 2 stints and you know

  304. hey, it's 2 calves a blaze into the heart Heart attack this that

  305. but guess what at the end of all of that they took me down and

  306. run an echo. I want to tell you what God

  307. does, said Boy. You fast past that with.

  308. Flying colors. There was no damage to your

  309. heart, they said. It was a significant heart

  310. attack. There was no damage.

  311. To the heart. The muscles, the valve, all

  312. still working. And they're still working

  313. tonight. Hallelujah.

  314. He's still real. He's still moving.

  315. Oh, Jesus. Oh, oh, glory.

  316. I know. I heard somebody say that

  317. started talking about the March Madness and, you know, even

  318. talking about the preacher's part.

  319. So what, we could have a see you preach along and somebody say

  320. our Bishop will win that. And, and, and I didn't hurt my

  321. feelings. I took it as a compliment.

  322. You know what, if I've got that much Jesus and me that I want to

  323. talk about it, I'm sorry, but I took after my mommy.

  324. She just couldn't keep still about it.

  325. Everywhere she went, she spread jeans, went right out here to

  326. the old hospital man. As for we had the specialist,

  327. specialist, regular family doctor and right in this city

  328. named Doctor Forward. Mama had cancer of the breast.

  329. He took it off that afternoon. My Mama was walking up and down

  330. the hospital corridors. She's preaching, she's telling

  331. everybody about Jesus, how good he is.

  332. She came home the next. Day she was at our house

  333. planting flowers outside. I'm telling you what God will do

  334. when we really get desperate with him.

  335. He'll move. He'll move.

  336. He'll, he'll, he'll satisfy. Glory Hallelujah, Zacchaeus

  337. climbed up in that Sycamore tree.

  338. He was. Bound, determined, he was going

  339. to see the seed had been planted.

  340. And now today the Lord had been guarding that seed all those

  341. years just for this time. This tree's got to be for

  342. Zacchaeus, because I'm coming this way and I'm planting him a

  343. tree so he can see me. He's short, he's in the press,

  344. he can't get around. People and he's rich, but today

  345. he said I got to see Jesus. See, he was, he was a man of

  346. desperation. He was desperate.

  347. To see him. I don't know about you, but I'm

  348. desperate to see him. I'm desperate to see the move of

  349. God. I'm desperate, see the miracles

  350. and the signs and the wonders that He's promised this church.

  351. He said a lot about this. My family's heard about it.

  352. If it's still all these every time, it's time to let it out.

  353. That can raise a little enthusiasm in here.

  354. I ain't even told my wife. Well, she's heard the little

  355. story way. Back about what's been going on,

  356. he says. I was in.

  357. I was in there. Praying.

  358. And my mind began to reminisce. Son.

  359. When I was a little boy, 6-7 years old, I remember my daddy

  360. was a Bible lover. He loved the word of God.

  361. He read it every day, all day long.

  362. And what I do, I was helper the short I'd I'd sit on daddy's lap

  363. and Daddy was always running references.

  364. And he had all these Bibles out here and and Ozzy helper, he'd

  365. say, OK, look up his scripture. And read it to me, man, I'd look

  366. up that scripture and I'd read it to him.

  367. That's where where I got a love. For the word of.

  368. God and something used to happen to mom and daddy and happened to

  369. me as a child sitting on his lap.

  370. I know you. There are going to be some

  371. spectacism in here, but that's all right.

  372. I'm going to tell the story because it's true.

  373. Dad and Mom was prayer warriors. I remember times when our kids

  374. were sick, we didn't have insurance.

  375. I called mom and dad, both short.

  376. They'd come down to my house and when they left, fever and all

  377. that is gone. Or they didn't go home.

  378. They stayed till the answer come.

  379. Come on church, what's wrong with us?

  380. Why don't we pray till the answer comes?

  381. Why don't we pray till we pray completely through and touch

  382. God? So let's get that.

  383. Thing out of our way between here and heaven so we can get

  384. our answers man I feel the Holy Ghost in here how you doing

  385. daddy sitting there and all at once his hand go out like this

  386. and there was like diamonds beating up on daddy's hands I

  387. sit there one night and I said daddy he.

  388. Says that's oil, son, come up on his other hand.

  389. Mama, she, she got the oil. Now I'm going to tell you when

  390. they prayed for somebody that oil on their hands are going to

  391. be healed. I said, there's a little boy.

  392. I said, dad, I like to have that.

  393. He said, well, let's pray, pray. And the Lord brought that back

  394. to my memory. This week I'm desperate to get

  395. it again. I'm desperate.

  396. I was back. What the devil stole from me?

  397. I want back my life. I want back my excitement.

  398. I want back a move of God. I want back healing and

  399. miracles. I want the Spirit of God to

  400. move. Through me so strong that people

  401. fall in the floor. So every night when I go to

  402. prayer, I finally get the place and.

  403. See. I humbly bowed before him.

  404. So I sit right down on the floor.

  405. A little bitty old light I can turn on in there and it's just

  406. like a little night light and it'll shine.

  407. It's OK God, I'm petitioning you for that oil.

  408. I want it mom and daddy had. It's on my hands as a child.

  409. I want it again. I'm desperate.

  410. I'm not going to quit praying God till it comes every night.

  411. That's my prayer. Before I end, it's going to

  412. come. One of these nights, it's going

  413. to happen. Because I've seen.

  414. Services that mom and daddy be in and somebody see that and say

  415. I'd like to have that and they prayed till it come.

  416. You know what our problem is? Because it's almost unbelievable

  417. right? It's sweat.

  418. No, it wasn't sweat, honey, this beaded up and look like

  419. diamonds. It was annoying.

  420. Store straight from heaven. I believe it's that oil the

  421. brother Mason was talking about this morning.

  422. There was none made lighted that wasn't allowed to make it.

  423. There's only a few people, the priest that knew how to mix it

  424. and put it together. Come on.

  425. I'm talking about something there's only a few people can

  426. put together and it's in our chart.

  427. It's no, I'm not talking about just this building.

  428. I'm talking it's in the Apostolic movement.

  429. And we're not taking all of the whatever it takes to get it.

  430. We're not. Being desperate enough to

  431. receive it. Brother, you're a walking

  432. miracle and don't you forget it. The day you forget him, he's

  433. going to forget you. Come on, we need, we need to

  434. just tell it like it is. I'm sorry, but I'm just crazy

  435. enough to I'm going to preach it so straight that you can wiggle

  436. in your seat. Oh, yeah.

  437. So the rich man climbed up the tree of desperation.

  438. No matter what was in the way a people was in the way.

  439. The press was going on. But he found it to a Sycamore

  440. tree and up he went. You know what I like about this

  441. story? You know when you get?

  442. Desperate enough, you notice that the Jesus seen him, said

  443. Zacchaeus. Come on down.

  444. He got a call. Jesus stopped in his tracks

  445. because he was hollering at Jesus.

  446. I want to stop Jesus in his tracks.

  447. When when he. Hears the voice of somebody you

  448. know that's reaching out to him. He'll stop him and he in his

  449. tracks. So he got a call and then you

  450. know what? If you get so desperate that you

  451. want to see Jesus and you want to feel Him, and you want to

  452. invite Him to your house, I'm going to tell you something.

  453. If you get desperate enough, He may invite Himself.

  454. To your house. Yeah, yeah, he said today's.

  455. I guess I'm going home with you. I'm going to make my way into

  456. your house. I'm going to sit down and enjoy

  457. this today, buddy. I'm going to feel the prayer.

  458. Oh, yeah, Lord, if I've wronged any man, I'm going to give it

  459. all back and more. Come on.

  460. He's repenting while he's talking to Jesus.

  461. Oh, if we can get them excited enough, if we can get them

  462. desperate enough on their seats, they'll be asking Jesus to

  463. forgive them. And right there, he'll fill them

  464. with the Holy Ghost. We don't have to bring them to

  465. the altar them. Sister Peterson, Second Church,

  466. said none about the third Pew. Hello gal.

  467. That night I loved her. She's a big lady in a lot of

  468. fun. She's sitting on that Pew on 3rd

  469. Pew and she had never received the Holy Ghost and all.

  470. I don't even know what was going on.

  471. I don't remember what was singing.

  472. I don't I can't even tell you. But I know one thing, the.

  473. Holy Ghost started to. Speak on that. 3rd peer and she

  474. was letting her go. You know what our problem is?

  475. We want to hold back. Why don't you speak it out?

  476. It's. Come on.

  477. Don't be afraid. It's wrong.

  478. The devil's telling you that story.

  479. Well, what you're going to get ain't right.

  480. Yes, brother. Bob.

  481. You'll feel it when you get it. I said you'll feel it when you

  482. get it. It's moving in the back right

  483. now. Come on, I said.

  484. You'll know it when you get it, when you receive it.

  485. There's nothing like it. You can't hold it in it'll it'll

  486. cause a breakout in the church. Zacus didn't care what anybody

  487. thought about this rich guy throwing his jacket off and

  488. climbing the tree. Think whatever you think, but

  489. I'm getting my answer today. Hey, Jesus is I'm not only

  490. seeing him, he's going to visit my home.

  491. He's. Coming in my home you ain't got.

  492. Him your home yet then you need. To grab a hold of him tonight.

  493. Woo, yeah, Right there it happened.

  494. Right there it happened. He walked in with care of other

  495. people that night, couldn't hardly walk in the church.

  496. The next time the wife let him loose at the sidewalk and here

  497. he come walking in without a cane or anything.

  498. I'm telling you what God does when you get desperate with Him.

  499. If you dare to climb the tree of desperation.

  500. Desperation brought Jesus to his house.

  501. Who cares? Hallelujah.

  502. See, what it was is He had the heart of a child.

  503. I got to tickle Piper the other night.

  504. Mama had her back here and down and down and she'd go.

  505. She didn't care whether you liked it or not.

  506. When a child cries, he don't care what you think.

  507. And then now she'd do that. She'd just laugh.

  508. She thought it's just the neatest thing she ever done.

  509. I don't know about you, but I loved it.

  510. Because she's starting to be a worshipper before she can even

  511. talk. Don't tie these kids.

  512. Down to the moon. Turn their Blues.

  513. Let them worship. If they see you do it, they're

  514. going to do it. Ain't been very long ago, I

  515. asked. Somebody asked me, said can you

  516. still get that leg up there? So sure, I'm still get it up

  517. there. If Daddy done it at 80 years

  518. old, sure, I can do it at 77. What I'm telling you about God,

  519. what he does now, would you let me change gears a little bit?

  520. I want to talk a little about. Blind Bartimaeus, he had the

  521. heart of a child. He, he was hollering.

  522. People said shut up. That's a master.

  523. Come on, Jesus, thou son of David, quieting down.

  524. This is the master. Jesus, the son of David.

  525. He didn't care what they thought.

  526. He didn't care who they was because he was desperate.

  527. I want to, I want to go someplace because the shorten,

  528. you know, I've studied and studied this over and over and

  529. I've run references and I've read commentaries and I've read

  530. all this stuff. I'm going to.

  531. I'm going to let you in on a little secret.

  532. You can agree with me or disagree, I don't care, but I'm

  533. going to believe what I believe. Commentaries all, they don't,

  534. they kind of leave. But in World's Bible Handbook,

  535. there is a story that struck me good.

  536. He castaway his garment. The Bible said now understand

  537. and and this is probably maybe different.

  538. You've ever heard it, but I want you.

  539. I want to tell you what they said.

  540. There are two class of beggars in the East, the true beggar who

  541. usually is poor or physically handicapped and in need.

  542. OK. And there's another class that

  543. their physicians have told them, your only hope is God.

  544. We can't help you. They tell him, say you need to

  545. go and set someplace or go someplace until a man of God

  546. passes by you and prays for you and you're here.

  547. That's the only cure. Nah.

  548. And there was three places that they went.

  549. They went to the temple gate. They went to the pool of

  550. Bethesda or they went by the roadside.

  551. We know Bartimaeus, he went, he was by the side the road.

  552. Now I want, I want to, I want to just kind of bring this on down.

  553. See, the sick beggar would wear a robe with which designed him

  554. as one in need of physical help. Not always money, you hear me?

  555. I I want you to grab this. He wore a robe that could have

  556. been a prestigious robe. And from all indications, when I

  557. read this story, in fact, he even says it.

  558. And he said this was the beggar Bartimaeus.

  559. He sat beside the roadside because he thought Jesus or some

  560. other man of God might come by and he'd be healed.

  561. So he put on his garment that had just something to do with

  562. his prestige, his mom and dad and those kind of beggars let.

  563. Oh, yeah, I know. I don't want to bore you to

  564. death, but I got to make you understand and.

  565. He had his cup and he had his glasses and he had his cane, but

  566. he was by the wayside and he was begging.

  567. But what you've got to understand more than anything,

  568. and I want some people to grab this in this church.

  569. Because he had prestige and all of that.

  570. He was sitting there begging, but not for himself.

  571. Anybody that put their money in his cup knew that he was going

  572. to help somebody else. It wasn't for himself.

  573. He didn't need the money, but somebody else needed the help.

  574. So he said they're begging for somebody else.

  575. I wonder how many of us would sit and beg for somebody else to

  576. get here. We're we're so thoughtful of

  577. ourselves, but I wonder how many of us it's going to take it to

  578. heart and pray till somebody. Else's answer?

  579. Comes How about yourself? How about somebody in your

  580. family? Oh Jesus.

  581. Oh I feel the Holy Ghost. I'm trying to hurt y'all but

  582. it's not working. I'll win it, that's for sure.

  583. I'm going to win the bracket of the mission.

  584. Come on. Oh Jesus, He was by the

  585. roadside. The road My.

  586. It was it was because he was blown to a prestigious family

  587. come on. And when they gave to him, they

  588. knew. That they wouldn't giving it to

  589. him, but somebody else. And when Jesus come by and call

  590. to him, I don't know if you can get a picture of this or not.

  591. Come on, I feel the Holy Ghost in this place.

  592. He cast it all aside. Let me tell you, He was hooked

  593. to a prestigious family. But from this day forward, he's

  594. going to follow Jesus. I don't need your money.

  595. Come on. I don't need the glasses.

  596. I don't need the cane no more. All I need is Jesus.

  597. I've got the healer. That's all I need.

  598. He holds a cattle on 1000 hills and he he's praying like Kenny

  599. Carpenter said. Just telling me God, I want my

  600. cow now. Oh, Jesus.

  601. I'm trying, y'all. I don't know how long I've been

  602. up here. 0 minutes. So I'm done.

  603. It's good. They knew you'd better turn it

  604. on for me and be in the red all the time.

  605. All right? Yeah, you did you notice

  606. something, though? He castaway his garment before

  607. he was. Healed right that's.

  608. Good. That's right.

  609. That's good. Oh, you have little faith?

  610. When's it going to be when we turn loose and say I believe you

  611. and enough till I'm getting rid of it all, I'm going to tell you

  612. something. It works.

  613. But Freddie, when I quit my job to power plant, I was walking

  614. down the Mill Bay one day and the Lord said it's time for you

  615. to leave here. Paul Poole told me the little

  616. church we was riding home, there's probably 3 or 4 in the

  617. morning and I just got up and changed my clothes and went to

  618. work that day. He was talking to me.

  619. He said, OK, brother Paul. But McGee, I know you got a good

  620. job, good benefits and all that. I know that.

  621. But he said, don't ever let that job keep you from obeying God.

  622. And if. God's going to speak to you,

  623. then turn loose of whatever. You have to to make it happen

  624. when I was walking down that meal Bay that day.

  625. Oh yeah. See this was after brother Paul

  626. and sister Don at all they married Nate done decided that

  627. they was going to go out on the evangelistic field and and they

  628. were working to get their self there.

  629. And the Lord said I called all the kids home on a Sunday.

  630. They sat out my table and I said I got something to tell you all

  631. said this week I was walking down the Mill Bay at work and

  632. said I want something come over me.

  633. And he said you need to leave this place.

  634. And you know what, in my heart I said you're me right now God.

  635. And then let me tell you how how the enemy works to try to change

  636. things. Our plant manager, in a few

  637. days, he called me to his office and he said, I hear you're

  638. leaving us. Said yes.

  639. He said, I wish you wouldn't. I said, well, he said down here,

  640. you're going to go pastor church.

  641. I said, yeah, I'm pastor now, but they need me full time.

  642. We hadn't talked about money, but Freddie, we hadn't sat down

  643. and talked about nothing. Church going to give me.

  644. They hadn't done nothing. But I knew I had to obey God.

  645. I knew if I obeyed God, God's going to take care of my family.

  646. Oh, Jesus. He said, you know, Paul, I can

  647. give you a leave of absence and if it don't work, here we are,

  648. 38 years leave here, 38 years later, here we are.

  649. I've never missed a payment. I've never done without bread on

  650. the table. I've never done without healing.

  651. I've never dealt without miracles.

  652. God still moving. God.

  653. Still God, Holly. He said no problem if you'd stay

  654. about 6 more months or so, there'll be a package come out

  655. and you could probably receive severance pay a $26,000.

  656. And very seriously, and I said, I appreciate your offer and

  657. everything you're doing, but God told me when I left this place

  658. not to have no strings tied to it.

  659. Come on, if you'll be obedient, God will take care of you.

  660. I don't care how bleak it looks, God.

  661. We'll take care of you. Yeah, right.

  662. Sister McGee. I remember.

  663. I remember they had that party for us.

  664. And give me a big picture. Everybody signed their name when

  665. celebrated with me. My grandson Kevin was there with

  666. us. Sister McGee and I was there.

  667. And they had this big old party for us that day.

  668. I didn't have to work that day. They partied all day for me, got

  669. paid for partying as we walking away from that.

  670. Walk in the. Car, I will never forget.

  671. Jesus you better stand up dear, I'm coming your way.

  672. I will never forget. I believe you can walk with me

  673. in Jesus name. As we walking away, fat power

  674. plant brother short, I said, dear, turn around there long

  675. goes everything, and we believe gone.

  676. Raised our kids, don't worry, nods Will.

  677. Take care of us and he took. Care of us, didn't he?

  678. Guess what? All these years later, she's

  679. still walking by my side. We're still loving each other.

  680. Come on, we're still loving each other.

  681. Come on, dear, you can sit down. You don't have to stand up long.

  682. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you for my wife, Laura.

  683. I found out, we found out the other day that really she's

  684. worse than we even know. Mr. McGee had another they run

  685. ACT on her and when we got the paperwork back said T9 and T10.

  686. They just said T9 and I've been. Told.

  687. That it usually runs in twos because of the way they're put

  688. together. But they didn't tell us that.

  689. Well, I'm telling you, God's going to take.

  690. Care of it so. Bartimaeus, you know, he, he got

  691. healed because of his desperate situation.

  692. Oh Jesus, this got the attention of Jesus.

  693. He stood still. I know man Hallelujah.

  694. See when desperation cries out for revival and brings also the

  695. old Sir Planner joke Jacob to my memory.

  696. He got his way by trickery and by deception and all of that.

  697. Yet when God really got a hold of his heart, when he really

  698. began to change Jacob and he changed his name to Israel, he

  699. wrestled with the Angel there, visited him, said an Angel, and

  700. he wrestled all night until the Angel touched the hollow of his

  701. thigh. And Jacob didn't start it, but

  702. he won it. He got a name change.

  703. Come on. And his name now means he who

  704. rules as God. Oh, Jesus, there was a woman

  705. with the issue of blood, and she came in the press just like

  706. that, Just like just like Zacchaeus that climbed the tree.

  707. He was in the press. But when she touched, when she

  708. got desperate enough to touch the hymn man.

  709. Somebody touch me. OK, Who touched me?

  710. Man? You got a frog around you,

  711. Jesus, and you're saying who touched me?

  712. He said I felt virtue go out. Let me tell you something, if

  713. you touch the hem of his garment, you're going to be able

  714. to virtue. You can be healed.

  715. Just by touching a garment. You want to know why we lose?

  716. Use handkerchiefs. Anointed, that's it.

  717. Oh Jesus, I'm about to close till I ask a question or two to

  718. you. Some of you here have issues you

  719. need to get rid of. All.

  720. Right, you're not 100% yet. I don't think any of us is 100%.

  721. We're working toward perfection, but God didn't ask him

  722. perfection. He's asking you to try your

  723. best. That's right.

  724. Amen. Now I want, I'm, I'm saying this

  725. in closing and Brother Mason or whoever can come see desperation

  726. always leaves a mark. If you get desperate with God,

  727. he may heal your body, but he'll leave a mark on it.

  728. There is always something to remind you of where you came

  729. from, that everything wasn't always hunky Dory, You know, as

  730. they would say when I was a kid, you might got rid of your cane,

  731. you might got rid of your garment, but there's still a

  732. mark on you. I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm coming too

  733. close. See, desperation makes you do

  734. things you never do before. See what it'll do and what we

  735. need to do if we get in the press like that.

  736. We need to worship a little longer.

  737. I wonder what had happened. If we just sister, sister McGee,

  738. if we just sing that song. One more time.

  739. I wonder what had happened. If we grab a whole sister

  740. Roberta that that verse just one more time.

  741. If brother Alex would just sing it one more time.

  742. Oh, Jesus, we need to worship a little harder.

  743. I know, Bishop, I know we got go nuts.

  744. That's all right. I'm waiting for all you to go

  745. nuts. I know I get carried away, but

  746. you know why? Because I remember where I came

  747. from. I can remember how many times

  748. God has healed me. Say I'm members of three-year

  749. old and I, they brought me to the hospital where I had the old

  750. hospital when I was three years old.

  751. Fever, burning up, rheumatic heart, scarlet fever.

  752. Back in those days, it wasn't something you treated.

  753. Left a scale where Mama lifted me off my bed and put me in an

  754. ambulance. It wasn't it wasn't like these

  755. ambulance. It was.

  756. It was the hearse to come and got me.

  757. I won't forget that. I may have been only three years

  758. old, but I won't forget that ride in that ambulance.

  759. I thought, that's cool. I'm reading a riding in a dead

  760. man's vehicle and I'm still alive, Mama.

  761. Prayed. She wasn't brought up Apostolic.

  762. Daddy was a backslider. Well, all she knew about God and

  763. what Daddy had told her. Mama couldn't read or write,

  764. only her name. She knew more Bible than most of

  765. you sitting in here. Probably she quoted Scripture.

  766. Honey, you know why? Because Dad's he read to her and

  767. she listened to it. She said God, if you were you,

  768. my son, I'll serve you the rest of my day.

  769. There was an evangelist in this area and mom called that

  770. evangelist and said I need you to come and pray for my son.

  771. Guess what? God healed me.

  772. Hallelujah. They told me that I never would

  773. be able to work and run like other kids and all of that.

  774. Because of this heart and all of that.

  775. You won't be able to do none of that yet.

  776. I'm mechanic for 33 years, 7 of that I pastored the church and

  777. when I was raised in the Kens I worked at a job that was 50

  778. hours a week every week and of the nights to make ends meet, I

  779. would go work on a farm and drive a tractor till midnight or

  780. whatever, go to work a mechanic the next day, all day long run

  781. service calls. I was I was radio dispatch.

  782. We didn't have stinking cell phones.

  783. You didn't know your way there honey.

  784. You wouldn't go get no GPS Tay, I'm talking about out in the

  785. boondocks. I was glad I had a forum and

  786. give me good directions and I did have a radio that I could

  787. contact and say, hey, I'm out here in Timbuktu and I know I'm

  788. probably not supposed to be here.

  789. Where? Come on, Hallelujah.

  790. Guess what? God healed me though.

  791. Hallelujah. They take me to the doctor every

  792. year. Get me checked out, doctor.

  793. Couldn't find nothing wrong. Nothing wrong with this boy.

  794. Hey, he's all right. Thank you Jesus, he's healed me

  795. several times since then. High triglycerides 1994.

  796. My triglycerides was 11187. Brother Carpenter was preaching

  797. A revival at South Gibson Apostolic Chapel and we went on

  798. a on a Thursday, I believe. Yeah, it's a Thursday night and

  799. Brother Carpenter preached. It's only a test after I come.

  800. Home from work the next. Day I was too weak.

  801. I'm going to tell you 11187 triglycerides will drain you
